Darkness's light

Summary:

Bad Po episode ends differently leaving the mirror smashed and the Po’s divided. One thing nobody could have expected. A certain goose, a father to the dragon warrior. Along with a human called Evan would change everything.

Chapter Text

Rain poured over the jade palace and its village lightning and thunder in the distance. Villagers ran to their homes to escape the storm. And Bad Po.

Bad Po

The panda stormed through the village his expression anything but kind. You could feel the intensity to the panda, a scowl permanently on his face.

His arms wrapped themselves around him frame, features turning into one of annoyance. The wind picking up to his disgust his body unconsciously shivered.

“Bah! Stupid rain, stupid storm!”.

As he walked through the village eyes glaring at anybody who peeked through. The panda paused.

Coming to stop in front of one familiar noodle shop.

The dragon warrior hovered there for a few moments gaze landing on Mr. Ping whose doors were still open, the goose putting away the day’s ingredients.

Feeling somebody watching him Mr. Ping met Bad Po’s gaze. A lightning coming between them their eyes never blinking.

Mr. Ping took in the pandas soggy appearance his expression softening.

Sighing the goose quietly made his way towards his son. Whose eyebrow raised at the bold move.

“Come inside”. Mr. Pings tone soft in the storm. “Don’t need you getting sick”.

Bad Po swiped a paw at his nose sniffling.

“You do realize I am not the same Po right?”.

“Yes”.

Bad Po’s brow raised.

“You are still my son”. Mr. Ping gazed up at Bad Po. “And I still love you. Come now”. The goose shoved the panda towards his home. “Let’s get inside before we both get sick”.

Bad Po’s expression unreadable he did nothing as his dad pushed him inside the home. An unconscious sigh escaping the panda as they got out of the rain. Turned into teeth chatters at the change in temperature”.

“Here”. Mr. Ping threw a blanket over the Panda. “Now go sit by the fire I made. That should warm you up. I’m making dinner. You’re welcome to stay overnight”.

Bad Po’s thumb played with the blanket just standing there briefly watching his dad work around the kitchen.

“Go on now”. Mr. Ping shooed his son paying no mind that this Po could easily harm him. “Sit down”.

Moving to the fire in the next room Bad Po contained to watch his dad. A unfamiliar feeling of something he wasn’t used to in this form.

Gratitude.

Shaking his head Bad Po stared at the fire the sound of raindrops comforting to his ear. The howling winds shuddering against the windows just a remainder that he was safe and warm.

Which was all thanks to his dad.

*I never wanted to work in a noddle shop. Ever*.

*Oh Po! How could you say such things?!?*

*It's time somebody told you the truth old man!*.

“Soup?”.

Bad Po jolted out of his thoughts weary gaze looking up at his dad who offered a warm bowl of soup and gentle eyes.

“Tha..”. The panda cleared his throat. “Thank you”.

Nodding silently Mr. Ping went back to work on the kitchen, leaving Bad Po to his dinner. Which was amazing by the way.

Good Po would’ve loved it.

Good Po.

When he had been kicked out it was obvious that the furious five and Shidork was going to allow him to stay in the Jade Palace. While he had indeed broken the mirror. They were afterwards able to get the upper hand leaving Bad Po to flee.

The soup suddenly tasted bitter.

The frustration that had been soothed like a flame now starting to heat up again.

A soft kiss on his head prompted Bad Po to jolt.

Blinking the panda gazed up at his dad whose smile was gentle encouraging.

“You alright son?”.

Bad Po blinked a few times feeling an exhausted he wasn’t used to.

“Yeah”. Bad Po’s tone croaking this time he left it. “Just tired”.

“Come”. Mr. Ping took his son arm with a feathered wing which surprisingly Bad Po went willingly. “I think it's time for pandas to go to bed”.

Bad Po’s lips twitched ever so slightly at the familiar words. Even if he wasn’t exactly the same Po. His memories were clear. And together the two of them went upstairs unaware a pair of eyes watched them from the restaurant entrance.

“Interesting”. Master Shifu said with a small smile.

Chapter Text

There you go". Mr. Ping tucked the blanket around Bad Po. "Nice and warm. Are you comfortable? Do you need anything?".

Bad Po's eyes fluttered shut relaxing into the softness. So much more comfortable then staying in Fungs basment..

The idiot making him inwardly scowl.

"I'm fine". Bad Po's eyes half lidded. "Thanks".

"Anytime". Mr. Ping reached up rubbing the pandas head who unconsciously leaned into the touch. Eyes fluttering shut.

Eye's snapping open Bad Po pulled his head back clearing his throat.

"I should get some sleep".

"OH ok goodnight son". Mr. Pings smile soft but had a sadness to it. "Sleep well".

Bad Po groaned rolling his eyes inwardly as the nagging feeling.

"Dad!".

"Yes?". Mr ping turned around.

"I....". Bad Po cleared his throat. "Thank you for letting me stay here".

"Anytime". Suprise flickered across the gooses face. "Have a good night's sleep".

Chapter Text

The first thing that Bad Po realized when he woke up it was the middle of the night.

Blinking grumpily at what woke chim up? It was then his ears twitched as he realized the culprit of his rudely awakened slumber.

There was somebody outside.

Getting out of bed stretching his neck Bad Po walked to the window glaring outside. Eye's scanning the area.

You could see a figure making their way towards the home, the sound of the restaurant door opening could be heard from the window. And inside of the house.

Instincts kicking into overdrive as he was strictly the dragon warrior. Bad Po snuck downstairs with stealth that Po could only wish he had.

Peaking over the corner of the stairs dark eyes watched the figure moving around in the kitchen, in a fashion that he almost knew the place?

Snarling the panda lunged forward prompting the intruder to yelp stumbling back.

Kitchenware scattering throughout the room.

Bad Po's eyes widdening ever so slightly as the figure was reveleved, as Mr. Pings downstairs light was turned on awakened by all the commotion.

The being was human? His eyes holding a fearful brown. Looking to be in his mid 20s. Scattered noodles all around them.

"Evan!". Mr. Ping rushed to the male. Who tried to stand only for Bad Po to glare him down.

"Son Son calm down". Mr. Ping stood in front of Evan. "He's a friend".

"A friend?". Bad Po raised an eyebrow. "Since when has this crummy village have any humans around?".

"I found him a few weeks ago". Mr. Ping put a wing on the humans arm. "Humans arn't unknown around here. Just rare. He got lost. He's been living in the forrest.

Bad Po's eyes narrowed glaring down at the human who hid behind Mr. Ping.

"Nnxt!". Bad Po turned his head so not to sneeze on either of them.

"Bless you".

Bad Po gazed at Evan over his arm as a tissue was offered.

Their hands met prompting both of them to jolt as a shimmer of green came between him.

Evan yelped stumbling back while Bad Po just looked at his paw in shock.

"Evan! Are you alright?". Mr. Ping kneeling next to him.

"I think so". Evan glanced up at the goose. "What just happened?".

" I don't know". The goose glanced around wing on Evans arm before helping him up. "C'mon let's get you cleaned up. Then I will make you another bowl. I want you to stay the night".

As he was led upstairs evans gaze never left Bad Po's.

Green darkened eyes watching his every move.
