Winged sneakers above my head.

Summary:

Izuku's life is weird, he is capable of unlocking almost everything, he's incredibly fast, and has recently found out how to navigate without using maps, and still, Kacchan and his friends reject him all the time, and that same day he meets the first girl in his life and isn't his auntie or mother, and runs off from her, and later there's a sword by his bed, his life is weird, and he is only five years old.

Chapter 1: A bedside sword

Chapter Text

5 Year old Katsuki didn’t know what to think of Deku, they’d been friends for as long as he could remember, and he’d always been an odd person.

for example at three years old, he was incredibly hyperactive for a three year old, and was freaked out by normal things like little dogs, but it was random, a lot of times, when dogs approached them and their moms when they were out in the park, he’d love the dogs, but then when other dogs approached them, he got scared and hid behind Auntie Inko who seemed just as guarded, but they didn’t do much, just stare at the two.

Other strange occurrences included Deku randomly opening locked doors when they were four years old, the same age as Katsuki when he manifested his own quirk, Explosion, one that he was really proud of and he’d be the best hero with it for sure, and so, they assumed that Deku’s quirk could maybe be opening locked doors, at least until his auntie explained that he simply inherited his father’s lockpicking talent and it wasn’t a quirk, which quite deflated Deku, and Katsuki back then would probably felt bad.

However, the biggest and weirdest thing up until now, was when he was five years old and Katsuki finally realized that Deku, although with the spirit, had no hero potential the second he was diagnosed quirkless, after all, he’d just get incredibly hurt wouldn’t he? Katsuki didn’t want that so he took it upon himself to drill it into him until he let his hopeless dream go, however, what he didn’t expect was him, Fingers, Bat boy and Deku to get lost in the forest by their kindergarten while playing heroes, and they were, rightfully, panicking, at least Fingers and Bat boy were.

“Oi! Fingers, Bat boy, stop panicking so much! We just need to walk back to where we came from!” Demanded Katsuki, quite irritated with both of them wailing for their mommies.

“But where did we come from!?” wept Fingers on the floor, with Bat boy agreeing with him.

Deku was just looking around, occasionally seeming deep in thought before suddenly yelling out “I know!”

All three of them practically jumped at Deku’s outburst, before turning to look at him “What do you know then, Deku?” Asked Katsuki with a mocking tone.

“I know where to go!” he announced proudly before walking off, looking at the sky and muttering different things, the other boys gave a resigned sigh and followed him through the forest, and surprisingly, they did end up back outside, and understandably, all eyes turned to Deku.

“How did you do that!?” demanded Katsuki while pointing an accusatory finger at Deku “None of us knew! yet you magically managed to find the way out!?”

Deku shrank at Katsuki’s glare, before looking at the floor “S-sorry- I didn’t really think I just- knew…” he said in a low voice, and Katsuki started feeling kind of bad for making him react like that, before remembering that he was acting like this for Deku’s sake, he needed to give up on being a hero, otherwise, he’d just get badly hurt.

“Tch whatever, let’s head back, Fingers, Bat Boy?” he turned towards the now calm kids, and they nodded at him and walked away, leaving Deku back in the forest’s entrance as they walked back to the school, walking past a black haired girl, not even sparing her a second glance.
.
.
.
Izuku watched as the people he called his friends left, his hands curled into tight fists as he tried to stop the tears from spilling, ultimately failing to do so, why were they so mean all the time? He only tried to help, every time they helped Kacchan didn’t say anything, but when he helped he was ridiculed and accused of something that wasn’t even mentioned, why were his friends like this?

“Are you ok?” Izuku’s head whipped up faster than he ran, which was actually quite fast, and his gaze landed on a black-haired girl with very dark gray eyes that looked black if not looked at carefully. She seemed about Izuku’s age, and she was worried for him!?

“Oh! uh- y-yup! I’m fine!” Izuku scrambled to reassure her, quite flustered himself, before dashing off, faster than what was probably normal for a five year old into the school, actively avoiding Kacchan and his friends until his mom came to pick him up.

The bell rang, and everyone in class dashed off except for Izuku, who waited until they all left the classroom and walked out to the front of the school, looking for his mom, noticing a very big car, as a matter of fact, it was bigger than Auntie Mitsuki’s, and Auntie’s car had seven seats! it was very long with black windows, and a black haired man was walking out of it, he was dressed in what he assumed was expensive clothing, and picked up the black haired girl he had met earlier, talking to her about her day while they walked into the car, Izuku was very surprised, the person who was worried about him was very rich from what he could see, what was she doing in a kindergarten?

He noticed his mom in the distance, and ran at her, hugging her leg hard and not letting go, hearing her chuckle as she helped him up “How was kindergarten sweety?” she asked with a smile.

He smiled up at her, better to not let her find out about his little problem with Kacchan and company, otherwise she’d be worried sick “Great! I met someone new!” he said with a smile as he pointed to the black car that was now starting to leave, he obviously left out the part where she worried about him when she found him crying by a forest and how he ran off with nothing more than two sentences.

His mom’s smile widened “Really? That's great!” she said as they started walking off “What’s their name?” she asked, and Izuku’s smile fell.

“Uh- I don’t know” he said sheepishly, his mom just chuckled softly.

“Oh Izuku, what am I gonna do with you?” she said with a soft smile and a laugh, Izuku just smiled up at her, the bad events of the day disappearing like smoke.
.
.
.
Once they got home, Izuku ran towards his room while his mom set herself to make dinner, once entering his room, he stopped in his tracks, everything was the same, filled with All Might merch to the brim, however, right by his bed, on the bedside table stood a sword, an actual to God sword, Izuku’s eyes widened in awe as he walked over to the sword, it was big, very big, about his own height, it was bronze in color and yet somehow he was still able to lift it perfectly, it felt right in his hands, he tried swinging it around, only getting clumsy strikes at his carpet, suddenly, his mom burst through the door “Izuku!” she yelled with a wide smile, causing Izuku to jump and drop the sword, however, the second he dropped it, it disappeared. Well, disappear is not the right word, it turned into a ring, his mom blinked, and so did Izuku.

“I can explain,” He said while a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead, he could NOT explain what happened, he found a sword as tall as him and swung it around before dropping it on the floor where it turned into a ring, pretty much unexplainable.

Suddenly, he noticed his mom looking at his head, utterly confused, Izuku looked up, and right above him, a flying winged shoe was floating above him, it was… 2D? This was certainly his weirdest day yet.

Chapter 2: Field trips suck

Summary:

Izuku and Inko receive a package, he goes on a field trip to a nature reserve, and gets chased by twin recycling truck-sized hellhounds, ending up bruised and battered on a creek, before Denki steps in, and a strange deity is watching from somewhere

Chapter Text

Dinner was a quiet affair, understandably so, his mom had taken the sword-turned-ring and confiscated it, and neither of them were trying to strike a conversation, probably trying to forget that weird sign above Izuku’s head which had already disappeared, they were eating katsudon, which was why his mom was so excited and tried to surprise him, however now it was just awkward.

“Uhm Izuku-” mom was cut off by someone ringing the bell of the apartment, Izuku found it weird honestly, who did they know that ringed the bell? Auntie Mitsuki and Uncle Masaru both entered unannounced due to them being such close friends with his mom and no one else really visited them, unless his mom knew someone who did.

“I’ll go get it” he said immediately, slipping off his chair and walking to the door, barely reaching the handle with his short stature, slipping it open without trouble, once again unlocking it without much trouble, and when he opened the door, he saw a box on the floor it was white, closed with tape and there was a logo on it with light blue letters “Hermes Ecc-express?” he said, struggling to read it to a point, he shrugged and picked it up, it was surprisingly light, and walked back inside the house, closing the door with his leg and dropping the box on the table “There was no one on the door” he told his mom, thankfully, this would also steer the conversation away from Izuku playing with a sword.

His mom frowned, before smiling at Izuku “How about we open it together then?” she suggested, and Izuku beamed.

“Yes!!!” he said, grabbing the box again and running to the living room with his mom in tow, dinner forgotten on the table.

“Now Izuku, what do we do to open a box?” said his mom.

“Open it with scissors!” he said excitedly as he ran to his room, ignoring the damage he caused to the carpet and picking his kiddy scissors from his bag, they had used it in arts n crafts that day and he’d made a paper All Might, like most other people, the silhouette was a little off, but still good, he ran back down and handed them to his mom.

She chuckled, and used the kiddy scissors to cut the tape, before opening the box, Izuku standing on his tiptoes to get a look, there was a paper on top of everything which read something across the lines of “mfro dda” he frowned, trying to make sense of the kanji to no avail, how was he able to read the label but not this? “Look Izuku, it’s from dad!” said Inko with a bright smile and what seemed to be happy tears, Izuku’s eyes widened, looking at the jumble of kanji in the paper, realizing they would mean “from dad” if they had been in the correct order, and he beamed even more.

“It’s from papa!!” he yelled excitedly, getting the paper off and showing a multitude of objects, some he didn’t know the name of, but he recognized a thermos because his mom always brought one with her to work and he saw them a lot of times, there was also a lot of money on the side of the paper, which had another jumble of words he was not interested in making sense of, there was a letter as well, who he knew was directed to his mom, and so he brought it up and handed it to her “It’s for you!” he said with a wide smile before looking back at the thermos, it had a label, picking it up, this time, though they weren’t kanji, he could read it perfectly.

For Izuku: Use Only In Emergencies, Sword Is Also A Gift For Him, But Came Early

Izuku’s eyes filled with happy tears at the thought of being gifted something from his father “Mommy! I got a water bottle like yours!” he yelled happily “And the note also says that the big sword ring should be mine!” he announced proudly, giving the label to his mother, who he saw read over it with a confused face.

“Izuku, honey, this is Greek at best” she told him confused “How did you read it?” she asked.

“What do you mean? It was very easy! look!” he pointed at the text and read it aloud for her, before looking at her “See?” he said with a smile.

.

.

.

Inko frowned, and brought out her phone using the translator and inputting the text, and it did, in fact, mean what Izuku said, Izuku only grinned at her with a toothy smile, and Inko noticed just now that his smile seemed to have a mischievous glint to it, she reread the note again and again, before smiling softly at Izuku “Well then Izuku, go ahead and take the ring, but if I see or find out it turned into a sword I’m definitely confiscating it” she said, with a stern yet soft tone, she didn’t think she should be doing this, giving her five year old child a lethal weapon, but from the contents in the letter, she figured it would be fine.

Hopefully.

She should’ve realized why she was given a ton of money with a paper reading “For tuition” sooner.

2 Years Later

.

.

Izuku ran as fast as possible to the bus which was almost ready to depart, slipping through unnoticed, just as planned, and sat down on the only empty seat, breathing a sigh of relief, he just had to sleep in on the day of his field trip didn’t he? Well, no matter, he managed to get in, and they were going to a natural reserve, which got him very excited, he just hoped he wouldn’t get expelled, again, during his stay at Aldera’s elementary school system one year ago, he’d gotten on huge trouble during a field trip, but it wasn’t his fault! Anyone would freak out if when they went to an amusement park they saw a ginormous eye belonging to a cyclops that smiled at him inside a crack on the floor that was apparently a monument, and it wasn’t his fault he ended up stumbling into another guy and screaming, which lead to a domino effect of everyone falling down, causing Kacchan to use his quirk to stop himself from hitting the floor which lead to one of the attractions malfunctioning which led to it being broken which led to a lot of mass panic.

He had to move schools after that, he was now in another school, and had one friend, and one friend only, well, no surprise there, quirk discrimination was everywhere, but that friend was sitting by him right now, they’d bonded over the fact that both have ADHD, though Izuku also had dyslexia an minor kleptomania added to the mix.

“So, Midobro, how come you almost missed the bus?” Joked Kaminari by his side.

“Slept in” muttered Izuku sheepishly while looking out the window, looking at the city while the bus started moving. He really liked the urban environment, but he did like natural places, like the reserve they were going to.

“Well that sucks, I got here earlier than you though, so you now owe me 5 yen” announced the electric boy happily, and Izuku facepalmed internally, right, he had a 5 yen bet with Kaminari to see who got to the bus earlier, he sighed, resigned, and pulled out five 1 yen coins from his backpack, handing them to Kaminari.

“Anyway, what do you think we’ll see there?” Asked Izuku excited “I can’t wait to have fun there!”

Kaminari smiled right back at him.

.

.

.

2 hours later

.

.

.

He was not having fun at all.

As a matter of fact, he was running away from a pair of black dogs as big as a recycling truck, that seemed way to hungry and he just thanked himself for being faster than the average seven year old, the natural reserve was, sadly, filled with wide paths for big crowds, which meant, more space for those creatures that he was sure came from hell, surprisingly, there was no one in the paths he took, but he didn’t question it, he was already panting from running around the entire reserve and couldn’t think logically, but who would when dogs with teeth sharper than that knife villain that All Might took out a few months ago, which he managed to record actually!

He got caught up in his thoughts of that villain that he did not, in fact, see the pebble on the floor, and tripped, falling on the brick floor, scraping his elbow and knee from the left side, he cursed, something he learnt from Kacchan before moving schools, and tried desperately to get up, the adrenaline pumping through his veins making him capable of ignoring the pain as he crawled quickly before getting up halfway through the crawl, noticing he was in one of the higher parts of the reservoir, he couldn’t  think logically, but he could plan stupid things, he ran to the edge of the path and jumped, rolling down the hill that followed, closing his eyes as he continued running down the hill, hitting himself on every rock, branch, and hole he stumbled upon.

He landed right by a creek, his back receiving the brunt of the landing, the breath being driven out of his lungs, with the toe bean of one of the enormous dogs landing on his stomach, and he was pretty sure he broke his ribs, he coughed, looking at the blood that came out of his mouth in fear.

“IZUKU!!” his eyes darted to see a frantic-looking Denki that was definitely out of breath “Leave my friend alone you dogs!!” yelled Denki as he ran at the dogs, seemingly trying to attack.

“NO!” Yelled Izuku in a hoarse and desperate voice, he couldn’t let his friend die trying to protect him, but his stamina was drained and his body immobilized by a giant toe bean, he tried to reach out to Denki to make him stop, but he didn’t seem to listen at all, his body coated itself in electricity, and he launched himself at the dogs a sword in hand, a sword that Izuku knew all too well.

.

.

.

1 Hours earlier

.

.

Denki knew something was up with Izuku ever since they met, because even if he didn’t tell him, he knew that Izuku also saw the things that Denki saw, things no one else saw, how some people saw dogs and he saw hellhounds, how people saw another person and he saw a cyclops, and based on what he was told, Izuku had been expelled because a cyclops spooked him and caused a domino effect, which he found incredibly unfair, of course, he never told Izuku, but still.

And as such, he too, noticed the enormous Hellhounds that were in the nature reserve, and how everyone else saw a bunch of big rocks, thankfully, those guys never did anything, right?

Oh how wrong he was.

It started going wrong when Izuku noticed the Hellhounds and visibly flinched, hiding behind Denki subtly, when suddenly, the Hellhounds reacted, smelling the air, and lunging for Izuku, he managed to pull Izuku out of the way, causing his classmate’s ring to fall from his pocket (it was too big to fit his finger) and it turned into a sword , an honest to god sword, he decided not to question it, there were more pressing matters, like the fact that Izuku had run away while he looked at the sword, before deciding to pick it up and run after him, being considerably slower than both the seven year old and the dogs, seriously, how did Izuku run so fast?? He was quirkless, and by biology, quirkless people were naturally more fragile and had less stamina that quirked people, since people with quirks had adapted bodies to fit their quirk.

He ran after them through the park, before seeing Izuku jump off a hill of all things, he breathed heavily, before running the other way, ignoring his classmates and finally seeing where Izuku landed, a creek, with a toe bean as big as him squishing his friend’s chest, and something inside Denki snapped, he didn’t know what it was, but he wasn’t letting his friend die that way.

“IZUKU!!” he yelled as he finally reached them, breathing heavily “Leave my friend alone you dogs!!” he said before running at them sword in hand, he heard something on the corner of his mind, but he didn’t listen, someone had hurt his best friend and they were going to pay, his quirk activated and electricity covered his body, and he lunged at the Hellhounds.

.

.

.

“I see… Family, though not blood-related, a huge sense of loyalty, and stupidly self-sacrificing, heh, just like me, well, no matter, at least I can help now”

“Those fatal flaws of yours will be the end of you kids, I can just tell”

Chapter 3: The godly creek boy

Chapter Text

Izuku never saw Denki reach the dogs, yet somehow, they both suddenly collapsed, golden dust spilling from their stomachs which were now wide open, causing Denki to falter, blink, and his quirk to die down, he lowered the sword that turned into his very familiar ring, and it dropped on the floor, and looking at something with wide eyes, something that Izuku couldn’t see because of the dog corpse that was slowly disintegrating  was blocking his vision, however, once the dog disappeared into golden dust, his adrenaline died down, which led to all of the pain from the scrapes and getting his torso broken by a giant dog catching up to him, causing tears to well up in his eyes as he grit his teeth to not scream in pain.

“Here, eat this” he heard a voice say and his mouth was forced open by someone he couldn’t see through his blurry vision, but he could make out a mop of black hair, and he felt something that felt like brownies enter his mouth, and the person in front of him got him to chew, it tasted like… katsudon? Weird, he swallowed, and his vision cleared, the pain in his legs and arms disappeared, and the searing pain in his torso lessened, and he noticed the boy crouching in front of him, as he guessed, he had black hair but his eyes… They were a sea green color, and held so much power that even an oblivious seven year old like him could tell he was not to be trifled with, he was wearing a faded orange T-shirt and ripped blue jeans, with a pen?

He assumed this person was the one who attacked the dogs and killed them, suddenly, Izuku coughed, and some of the golden dust left his mouth, and it hit him, he swallowed the remains of hell dogs “Ew!” he yelled and he desperately wiped his tongue with his hands, he heard the boy chuckle before standing up, reaching a hand out to him, Izuku hesitated for a second, before taking the hand, wincing as his torso still very much hurt “Sorry, can’t give you more ambrosia or you’ll burn up” admitted the boy with a sheepish expression “I’m Percy, god of the tide, family, pure water, loyalty, and self-sacrifice, and you are?”

Izuku shared a look with Denki, and looked at the almost adult now that Izuku could see clearly, he had a lean body with muscle, Izuku picked up the ring slowly as to not feel the pain from his entire torso again “Uh, I’m Midoriya Izuku” he muttered under a low voice, he was most certainly curious about what he’d been fed, and what the hell the boy meant by god, but he was too exhausted to ask.

“Kaminari Denki” said Denki by his side “What do you mean by god? Are you like- part of the things I see and stuff?” and Izuku blinked, turning to Denki.

“You can see them too!?” he exclaimed in shock “Why didn’t you tell me!?”

Denki shrugged “Well, you never seemed to want to talk about it, and they never acknowledged me either” he muttered under his breath.

Percy chuckled “To answer your question, yeah, the things you see are part of my world, you see, the Greek myths, and a lot of other mythologies at that, exist” he explained calmly “I was a demigod in the pre-quirk era, but my deeds made me ascend to godhood, even if I didn’t want that” he admitted sheepishly “And you, Kaminari” he pointed at Denki “Are a clear-sighted mortal, which is why you can see the monsters, demigods, and other stuff hidden by the mist”

“Mist?” asked Izuku excitedly, he’d just been told that the things that happened to him and the things he saw didn’t mean he was crazy, and was introduced to new concepts, he was definitely making a notebook for this “What’s that? Is it some kind of fog or something that stops people from seeing the monsters and other things from the Greek Mythos? Wait, is that why Denki knows so much about Greek mythology? because he investigated the things he saw? Should’ve done that as well now I realize, but then does that mean that since Denki is a clear-sighted mortal as you said, does that mean that his eyes are somehow able to see through such mist? But then what about me? Why did the big dogs acknowledge me and try to pretty much eat me?”

He was snapped out of his rambling by Denki “Izuku, please, you’ll run out of breath” he said with a laugh, and Izuku’s blood rushed to his face.

“R-right! I’m really sorry!” he apologized to Percy who just chuckled.

“It’s fine, but to answer your questions, pretty much, it’s a magical force that changes what mortals see when something from the Greek mythos appears in their sight, and changes it to something they’ll be able to comprehend, and your friend Kaminari here can see through it, and therefore interact with the Greek mythos world” he explained with a chuckle “The reason they acknowledged you is because your not mortal silly” he said with a smile.

“I- what!?” He yelled, he was not mortal!? “What do you mean!?”

“You are a demigod” he said casually like he hadn’t turned Izuku’s life upside down just like that “That means that one of your parents is a Greek god, and therefore, you smell tasty to monsters, and they try to eat you, but seen as you haven’t attracted much monster up until now, then something else was masking your scent.”

Izuku’s eyes widened, masking a demigod’s scent.. “Kacchan” he breathed, shocked “He sweats nitroglycerin! he constantly smells like caramel and we were childhood friends! and then we were still in the same school and lived close to each other!” he realized “But then I moved schools and the caramel smell left!” he said, his whole upside down world starting to make sense now “Is that why I have these weird abilities that for some reason aren’t a quirk!?” he continued, starting to mutter continuously.

.

.

.

Percy blinked, clearly shocked at the seven year old who knew so much, he could definitely be a child of Athena, but he didn’t give off the same vibe that his Wise Girl did, he never forgot about her at all, even if she died 150 years ago, well, it made sense, he visited her, and his other friends in the elysium fields (they clearly deserved it) after he gained Hades’ favor 184 years ago.

“Ok, kid, calm down” he said with a chuckle, he said before the kid turned to look at him with forest green eyes that could definitely fit a child of Demeter, but the mischievous glint in them told him otherwise, he already knew who was the kid’s father at least.

“Why couldn’t you help earlier?” he asked innocently, but Percy felt a pang of guilt run through him.

He smiled sheepishly “As a god, I can only go to places where my domains are present, so I couldn’t help you until Kaminari here showed at least half of my domains, Loyalty and self-sacrifice” he said, turning to look at the blond who had been left out of the conversation “Good work by the way, but next time, try not going against creatures from the underworld on your own, you’re a mortal after all”

Kaminari nodded with a determined look on his face, and Percy suddenly had an idea, a dumb one, but an idea nonetheless.

“Anyway, so, I could tell you your godly parent” he turned to Midoriya, but I don’t know if they claimed you or not already and you might have not realized” he said, Midoriya suddenly went deep into thought before looking at him.

“Does a weird 2D symbol appearing over your head count as being claimed?” asked the seven year old, and his eyes widened, this kid had already been claimed, and had a weapon from what he could see, was only seven years old!? jealousy spread through him, he had to wait until he was twelve and almost died to a fury for that, and here this kid already had those before this happened.

He nodded either way “Yeah, what symbol was it?” he asked the kid.

“A shoe with wings” said the kid, Percy smiled widely, he was right!

“Well then, Midoriya Izuku, you’re the son of Hermes, God of Boundaries, Thieves, Merchants, Travelers, Roads, Commerce, Speed, Gambling, Cunning, Wit, Communication, Philosophy, and Alchemy, as well as the patron of Heralds, Shepherds, Merchants, Thieves, Athletes, Travelers, and Orators” he finished proudly at being able to announce the demigod, even if he would get chased after monsters more often than not because of it.

.

.

.

Saying Izuku was shocked would be the understatement of the century, he was the son of Hermes, and he suddenly remembered the weird package from two years ago, it was called Hermes Express. How was he so clueless, his weird abilities now made sense, he was fast, capable of unlocking anything, could navigate without a map, sheep and goats loved him, he was good at sports, hell, he already knew about three languages, counting the apparent Greek he innately knew, wait, did his mom know? he needed to ask her the second he got back, but now, there was a more pressing matter for him, he looked at Percy with a determined look.

“Teach us how to fight” he said, and Percy faltered over whatever he was going to say next.

“H-huh?” said Percy with wide eyes.

“Teach us how to fight, I don’t want to be helpless to dogs from hell” he repeated, and Denki nodded along.

“Izuku’s right! We would’ve died if you hadn’t helped us!” said Denki, and Percy sighed resigned

“Ugh, fine” he muttered, “Meet me in Musutafu’s forest this saturday at 3 PM, ok? Now shoo you’ll definitely get in trouble for straying from your group” he said before blinking “Wait, Let me just-” he touched the creek with one finger, and touched Izuku’s hand with a finger from his other hand, and the water traveled from the creek to Percy to Izuku, and it healed him, it actually healed him, his torso as starting to feel better already, he then did it with Denki, which was mostly to fix the electric boy’s fatigue at running so much “Now, actually shoo” he said, and the two nodded and started walking off.

“Oh, wait! Kaminari, come here!” yelled Percy.

.

.

.

Denki was confused, and shared a look with Izuku, who still seemed a bit shell-shocked, understandably, and shrugged, wishing Izuku good luck on dealing with the teacher and walked over to Percy with a raised eyebrow “Yeah?” he asked, confused.

“So, I don’t want you to feel left out of your friend, and you also proved yourself worthy of receiving my blessing!” Announced Percy with a smile, and Denki felt like he was smacked by the dogs he just saw get their stomachs ripped open, his eyes grew as wide as plates and his mouth went agape.

“R-really!?” he said in awe “Wait, what’s a blessing?” he asked suddenly, he shouldn’t be excited over something he didn’t know.

“I’m unofficially adopting you, basically, and give you access to some of the abilities that my demigod children would have, if I had demigod children that is” explained Percy, and Denki’s mouth became agape again.

“Oh god” he said with saucer plate sized eyes.

“Gods, actually” corrected Percy, completely unbothered.

“Right, gods, whatever, I- I accept the blessing!” said Denki with a beaming smile.

Percy smiled even wider, and laid a hand on top of Denki’s head “I, Perseus Jackson, god of Family, the Tide, Clean water, Loyalty, and Self-sacrifice, son of Sally Jackson and Poseidon, hereby give my blessing to the mortal Denki Kaminari, son of…?” Percy gave him a pointed look.

“Son of Ran Kaminari and Nariko Kaminari” finished Denki with a smile.

Percy smiled back, and a blue light suddenly spread across Denki, before disappearing, he blinked “Is it… done?” he asked curiously.

Percy only chuckled “Yup! now go catch up to Midoriya, don’t want him dealing with the brunt of the scolding you’ll both definitely get” said Percy as he shooed Denki away like he hadn’t just become his unofficial father, but Denki followed the suggestion nonetheless, and ran back to where Izuku had run off to, this time noticing how he felt like he could run more than usual, but either way, ignored that and ran.

Izuku was in trouble, and he knew it, after Denki had told him what happened, he was understandably excited, and started making theories about what effect that would have on his quirk and the typical stuff you theorize with your friend after finding out that Greek myths are real, that you are the biological son of one of them, and that your friend just got adopted by one of them, but then the teacher finally found them, and they tried to explain what happened, alas, the mist clearly made it impossible to explain since they didn’t know what their teacher and classmates saw so they weren’t able to come up with a story that would free them of blame, so Izuku made up a story of running off because he saw an animal and causing Denki to go after him, which led to the two getting lost to where they were now, needless to say, Izuku got expelled and since Denki had a flashy and useful quirk for heroism, they drowned out the fact that he did in fact, still divide himself from the group, as to not damage his record, and though Izuku had taken it in stride, saying his father had give him and his mother money to pay for school when he was inevitably expelled, Denki was not happy with it, even if he couldn’t do anything about it.

“I still can’t believe it!” said the seven year old as they walked to the train station where Denki’s mom would pick him up, since he lived in the Saitama prefecture, Izuku’s own mom followed close behind as to give the two boys some privacy.

“I was honestly expecting it” muttered Izuku “The only thing I’m worried is that this is my second expulsion, at this point I’ll end up unable to enter UA because of my track record” he said as solemnly as a seven year old could do, and Denki perked up.

“Oh my gods you’re right!” he said shocked, and Izuku noticed the use of gods, seems like both of them got used to saying gods instead of god very quickly “Oh I’ll tell mom to give them a piece of my mind!” he said, Denki’s mom was quite a famous lawyer, Kaminari Ran had a lot of successful cases for clients and stuff he did not understand, but in short words, Denki’s mom could pretty much ruin anyone she wanted if they were less important than the top 50 hero.

Izuku quickly reassured him “No! No, it’s ok! It was meant to happen someday anyway so don’t get your mom into this” he pleaded, and it seemed that Denki was actually considering it, thank the gods.

“Maybe, I’ll have to think about it” he muttered as they found Denki’s mom and she picked him up, he waved at the blond boy as he entered the train.

Percy was dumb, he really was, he was currently in Olympus, banging his head against a table, he not only made a child’s life more dangerous and didn’t even tell him, but adopted said child’s friend out of impulsivity, and promised to train them both, so now he had to live up to that commitment, at least he hadn’t let godhood get ot his head yet, he shuddered at the thought of acting like Zeus of all people, that’d truly suck wouldn’t it.

“Oh gods” he grumbled “What am I supposed to teach them anyway? What Chiron and Luke taught me? or do I just teach them something entirely different?” he lamented before blinking, well, that could work, he could take a page out of Chiron’s book and send the boys on a quest the week they found out about their heritage, or got new heritage in Kaminari’s case, but alas, he wasn’t that crazy, and his case was because if he didn’t there would’ve been war, but he still could maybe just give them an experience like he had at camp, he could go to the underworld and ask his Wise girl, she’d know what to do, right?

Notes:

So, I saw how someone commented funny conversations and decided to add some myself at the end of chapters

Izuku: *gets expelled for a second time in two years*
Percy: Oh no! he's becoming like me! and he's got expelled because of things that happened during field trips as well! what kind of History repeats itself kind of trope is this!?"

Chapter 4: Expulsion compilation

Summary:

A compilation of everytime Izuku got expelled, why, and some extra scenes.

Chapter Text

Izuku and Denki entered the forest, Izuku using his ability to navigate without a map to go there, and after finding out Denki could locate water after being blessed they used that too to get to the creek five minutes before the meeting time, where they talked and hung, Izuku trying to swing his sword around, which almost took Denki’s eye out by accident.

While Izuku was profusely apologizing, a burst of water came from the creek, soaking both of the young boys, well, more like soaking only Izuku, Denki was weirdly dry, after the water fell, Percy was standing there with leather armor around his body, the pen he had before on his hands, and extra pieces of leather armor on the floor including a bronze sword. “Hey kiddos, how are you?” he asked with a big smile.

“Soaked” answered Izuku, causing Percy to blink and look at him.

“Oh.” he said as red brushed up to his face and walked over to him, and touching him, suddenly, all the water that had been thrown to him suddenly floated over the ground, and formed into a ball of water, which dropped onto the floor “Done” he said.

“Now, let’s start training!” announced Percy as he threw them the armor and handed the other sword to Denki, hilt first.

.

.

.

Izuku panted as he fell back first on the floor, their first training session was apparently a spar to see how well they did in both hand to hand combat and armed combat, naturally, Percy beat them in less than a minute, but apparently Izuku was a natural, so that was something good at the very least, but they were both beaten up on the ground now.

“Oh come on! I didn’t even hit you that hard!” called out Percy with a smile “Ares lasts way longer than you guys”

Denki gave him an incredulous look “You’re comparing a god to seven year olds!” he said, getting up in resignation and Percy at least had the decency to look sheepish.

“Right, but still, you two won’t manage anything lying on the floor, this time attack me both at the same time!” he called out with an even bigger smile, and the two kids sighed resignedly, getting ready for their second spar of the day, but certainly not the last.

Their parents, did not question why they were so tired (Percy had healed Denki’s wounds with water and given Izuku ambrosia, which he found out was the thing he’d been given the day before, and it apparently tasted like your favorite food) and simply assumed they’d gone around running for too much time, of course, Izuku still needed a talk with his mother, because unlike Denki’s parents, Izuku’s mom actually hooked up with a god.

.

.

.

Izuku looked his mother dead in the eyes, taking a deep breath and starting to talk “So… my dad is a god” he told her “And I’m pretty sure you knew” he continued, strangely serious for a seven year old, watching as his mother’s eyes widened and she looked at the floor guiltily.

“I- Izuku, I didn’t actually know until we received that box and- the letter that it had inside- it explained what happened, why your father couldn’t come, why I couldn’t tell you either, I would’ve told you if I had the chance Izuku, I swear!” she said as tears started streaming down her face, startling Izuku

“W-why couldn’t I know?” he asked cautiously.

“Izuku… When you find out, the monsters do too, they’ll actively seek you out now” she wept as Izuku got off the chair and ran towards his mom, hugging her with all of his might, “I-I’m sorry Izuku, I really am!” she continued.

Izuku didn’t answer, rather choosing to stay silent and hug his mother as he processed the information told to him, his life would now be in a constant state of danger, that was not good, he just hoped that he could learn how to properly defend himself with Percy before anything bad happened.

.

.

.

Izuku ran as fast as possible, cursing the cyclops that followed him with a hungry grin through the museum, he was so getting expelled after this, the eight year old had experience with his sword now at least, and could fight, that was, until he found a place that wouldn’t shatter when he slashed the thing and make his mom pay more than what was needed, of course, he ended up in the main room of the museum, in front of a lot of people, he just wondered what the hell they thought was the cyclops, however, he saw that there was another group of students there, maybe teenagers?  However, the only one that actually seemed shocked at seeing the battered up eight year old and the 7 foot cyclops following close behind, which he was sure was not a quirk because no one else reacted to him but the boy, had white hair and gray eyes, was he also a clear-sighted mortal or a demigod?

His question got answered when the cyclops stared at the white haired boy hungrily, Izuku cursed once more and grabbed the kid’s hand and dragged him into a supply closet.

“So sorry I know this might be sudden but that thing is trying to eat me!” said Izuku in one breath, looking at the continuously widening eyes of the boy.

“W-what the hell!? that one-eyed guy is trying to eat you!?” said the teenager.

“Yes! and it might want to eat you too!” announced Izuku as he regained his breath, turning his ring into the now completely familiar sword, and preparing for when the cyclops broke through.

“Wh- Is that a sword !?” yelled the teenager in surprise before the wall suddenly came down, well, at least Izuku knew the guy could see through the mist, otherwise he would’ve seen a baseball bat, as Izuku had proved when showing it off a few months ago.

The cyclops stood over the two of them, at least two foot taller than the teenager, and three foot taller than Izuku, and he didn’t wait before lunging at them with a roar, but neither did Izuku, he sidestepped the cyclops and stabbed it in the leg, watching with satisfaction as golden dust started shooting off the injury, causing the cyclops to loose his balance and fall, Izuku got out of the way and stabbed it in the head, breathing a sigh of relief as it melted into golden dust, He was sure he would need to pay property damage now, damn.

“What. just. happened.” said the boy as Izuku turned to look at him confused, before realization crossed his face.

“Oh, right! I’m Midoriya Izuku, son of Hermes!” he said with a smile, perfectly knowing how much he confused the older boy.

“I-I’m Todoroki Natsuo?” It sounded more like a question so it confused Izuku.

“That sounded like a question, you know?” Todoroki-san shrinked under that.

“Don’t really like my dad,” said Natsuo.

He hummed “Can’t relate, considering he’s a god who's been absent most of my life and he gave me this sweet sword” he said happily, twirling the sword in between his fingers before it turned into a ring, suddenly, the adults stumbled through the broken wall, one of them clearly being Fujiwara-sensei, Izuku’s teacher.

“Midoriya Izuku-” he breathed, completely bewildered “-You’re expelled.”

.

.

.

Nine year old Izuku couldn’t pin it on monsters this time, it truly was his fault but at the same time, he didn’t know that Present Mic’s recording studio would have a light switch that cut out all power, and whoever thought it would be a good idea to put it right by the lightswitch of the storage closet had lots of explaining to do, needless to say, he’d already tuned out the teachers as they scolded him, totally used to it, instead looking at Present Mic, who reminded him lots of Denki, after all, they were both loud blonds, but Denki actually switched up to a dagger halfway through last year, which surprised him, but either way, his best friend was pretty much a natural at the dagger, even if he did great with the sword, however, Izuku was bored, and Present Mic had a very shiny digital watch on him, if maybe he could just snatch it-

“Midoriya! Are you listening!?” Izuku jumped and turned to face his teachers sheepishly.

“Sorry?” He said, and the teachers gave them an exasperated look, before the one on the left ‘ Nakamura-sensei ’ his brain provided.

“This is your last warning Midoriya, one more slip up and you’re expelled”

He slipped up.

He genuinely wanted Present Mic’s autograph, but he did use it as an excuse to also snatch the watch, which he was insanely happy about, this would be his third successful time stealing from a pro hero in front of them, although Present Mic wasn’t actually wearing the watch, so it Was easier than is should’ve been, needless to say, the office went into panic, and the students who knew of his kleptomania pinned it on him, needless to say, he was searched and they found nothing (he hid it in his shoes, taking advantage of the big soles) but he was still expelled for causing panic, twice.

Well, at least he’d be going home with a new watch and an autograph from one of his favorite heroes.

.

.

.

Ten year old Izuku smirked, he was not apologizing for what he did even if he was now in the principal’s office, those bullies deserved it, and he enjoyed hearing how his prank went as smoothly as silk, after all, that’s what they got for picking on a kid who just so happened to have a bird head, it was definitely not fair how those guys treated the poor boy because of a mutation, so of course he gave them a taste of their own medicine, in other words, he made sure everyone got into the classroom after the three of them because he made a very elaborate prank where the first three people to enter would get completely sprayed with blackberry juice, which was in fact, almost impossible to get off.

“Midoriya-san, your son has, as a matter of fact, crafted, while very clever, a prank on his classmates which could have harmed them seriously had something gone wrong” Izuku’s jaw dropped, the teacher was such a liar! that wasn’t true!

“That’s not true Mom! Those three kids were bullying another one because he had a bird mutation! so I just made it so that when they entered the classroom they'd be sprayed with blackberry juice! there’s nothing harmful about putting bullies in their place!” he immediately said, and his mom’s eyes went wide before going to the principal.

“Is it true that those kids were bullying another student Mr. Ishikawa?” asked his mother, to which the principal said.

“I have to admit, I’ve never seen it with my own eyes, but it’s been brought to my attention that the boy has a villainous quirk, so it’s better to keep-” Izuku’s mom cut him off.

“I’ll stop you right there and ask, what makes you think a quirk is villainous” she immediately said.

“Well, his file says the boy has a… companion with him, which takes the form of a bird and thrives in shadows, you can tell me if that’s villainous or not” said the principal, not at all shaken, and Izuku’s blood boiled.

“That’s it!” Izuku got up and glared at the teacher “I’m done with you! expel me for all I care, but I won’t stand by when there’s quirk discrimination on one of my friends!” the bird headed boy was in fact, not his friend, but the principal didn’t need to know that.

Needless to say, he got expelled for disrespecting authority or whatever.

.

.

.

Eleven year old Izuku landed and rolled away, glaring at the Sytmphalian bird that stabbed itself into where Izuku would’ve been had he not rolled away.

“Ares I swear on my dad’s name I’ll slap the first person who is somewhat related to you that I see!!” cursed Izuku as he continued running, evading the birds with celestial bronze beaks that landed on the ground like nuclear warhead missiles, he now had his less liked monster apart from Hellhounds.

He sidestepped another one that stabbed itself on the ground, using his sword to kill the bird while it was still stuck on the ground, grinning happily before continuing to run around the flower park, he still had eleven birds to get rid of, so he continued running, feeling a little bad for the flowers as he stepped over them, he found a slope and slid from it, this time not falling into a creek and getting stepped on by a dog’s toe bean, though the situation itself wasn’t the best, so he continued running, he was happy that he fell into a part where there were more obstacles, tall obstacles, AKA trees, AKA more things for the birds to get stuck on, and more time for Izuku to kill them.

By the time he left the forest, there were six of the birds left, and he was too concentrated on them, and again, tripped, like he did 4 years ago, except this time he was going to trip down a flight of stairs. “Oh for fuck’s sake!” yelled Izuku as he tried to right himself, desperately trying to stop the fall, to no avail, and he could already see his gravestone “Izuku Midoriya, died falling down the stairs while running from killer birds.” He closed his eyes, trying to turn and see the birds and not the floor.

He never hit the stairs, and instead, was floating on the air, his eyes widened, Hermes children didn’t have flight! that was only the wind gods and Zeus! So why could Izuku do it!? the momentum carried him away from the birds, who were now stuck in between the bricks of the stairs, so he looked down at his feet while he could, there were wings sprouting from his shoes, they weren’t big, and by no way logical, he’d analyzed enough wing quirks to know that “Winged Sandals? Really?” he said, but didn’t actually complain and when he finally hit the ground, he ran off, killing Stymphalian birds as he went.

Finally, he was free from trouble, and the wings had disappeared (thank god) sadly, he could see his teachers approaching, and he immediately tuned out how they kept saying that he was expelled for separating himself from his group and killing random pigeons, oh if only they knew, he looked around the place while waiting for them to finish, maybe he should snatch their wallets or something, or maybe just a few yen, he was short on cash after all, the money given by his father only covered tuition and nothing else.

His eyes landed on an orange-haired man with shoulder-length hair, and his eyes were covered by it, but he could still his feel his sympathetic face, ok then, he could see through the mist, he continued studying the man and noticed his metal fingernails- wait, was that Poweloader !? Oh my god!.

He was snapped out of his musings when he realized the teachers and students were leaving already “Crap!” he yelled, turning to run after them, waving at who he knew was Poweloader now, he’d definitely track him down somehow, Hermes' children were, as a matter of fact, some of the smartest demigods out there only after Athena’s children.

Powerloader waved right back with a smile.

.

.

.

Todoroki-san joined him and Denki on their training, and turned out that biological sons of demigods were technically all quirkless, and when they were sparring, Natsuo using the bow and arrow, a sudden yellow sun glowed over Natsuo “Well Damn!” said twelve year old Izuku to Natsuo “Come on, let’s tell Percy you got claimed!” he said to the bewildered seventeen year old as he dragged him to Percy.

“Percy!” yelled Izuku as he saw how Denki was on the creek of the forest, trying to heal his injuries, he snorted at the sight, before getting back on track. “Natsuo-san got claimed!” he announced.

Percy’s smile widened, and he walked over, even Denki did, though he did take a handful of water with him “By who!?” Asked Percy.

“Apollo!” he said with a smile as Natsuo got out of his initial shock.

“Wait, wait, wait, rewind, my old man is not my actual dad” he said with a continuously larger smile “But rather the god of the sun and healing is!?” he was ecstatic “I thought my mom would be my non-actual mom and the idea was genuinely horrifying” he said.

Percy coughed “Uhm, sometimes you can have a mortal father and a godly father” he snorted at Natsuo’s paling face “Don’t worry kiddo, You have your mom’s genes, which is easy to see with your hair” everyone in the group knew about Natsuo’s father and how he was the number two hero, and honestly, if any of the three who knew had a saw in society then they would’ve razed Endeavor to the ground, not even Denki’s mom would be capable.

.

.

.

Izuku stared dumbfounded at the herd of hellhounds in the theater, how was no one seeing them!? They would’ve thought at least that they were stray dogs, but nope, they didn’t even acknowledge them, Izuku was genuinely fucked, and even more so when in the middle of the play, they decided they should chase after him, so of course he ran off through the crowded and small space that was the theater hallways.

“Oh my gods! Why now!?” lamented Izuku as he continued stepping on and stabbing the small hellhounds, at least this ones were the size of a pug, and not the size of a recycling truck, not like it changed their viciousness, but they were easier to deal with, he used his recently mastered power to generate wings on his shoes so that they could not reach him that easily, and used his speed to get through them, Hermes was definitely one of the best godly parents for sure, or maybe Izuku just hit the genetic demigod jackpot, who knew? not him for sure.

Someone saw it and Izuku finally understood something, people saw those dogs as 5 year olds, so now he was in an interviewing room with a police officer in front of him who also looked like he didn’t want to be there.

“So” started the detective “My name is detective Tsukauchi, I will be interrogating you and I’m obliged to say my quirk is lie detector and that this interrogation is being recorded” he said, and Izuku felt just as the man did. “Please state your name age and quirk”

“Midoriya Izuku, twelve, quirkless” said Izuku, noticing how the man’s right eye twitched when he said that, was that part of his quirk? Maybe his left eye twitched when the person talking lied, if that’s the case, does it also work on himself? He’d leave that for later, sure, he still loved analyzing quirks and stuff, but he knew it was better to not do so when he was in an interrogation room.

“Alright, mind telling me how you floated when you’re quirkless?” asked Tsukauchi, and Izuku felt his face pale, they didn’t see the demigod part of it, of course they didn’t, they just saw him float.

“I didn’t float” he said, and it was technically true, he was technically flying since he used wings and moved around, and Tsukauchi’s twitching right eye told him so.

“Alright then, mind telling me what went through your mind when you decided to beat multiple 5 year olds to death with a baseball bat?” such a baseball bat had been confiscated from him, not like it worked, it just turned back into a ring and was now on his finger.

“They weren’t five year old children” said Izuku with a frown, and noticed with satisfaction Tsukauchi’s right eye twitching, he was probably so confused right now, that Izuku was cackling internally.

“...I see” he said slowly “Then what were they?” asked Tsukauchi, a clearly confused expression on his face.

“Hellhounds” Answered Izuku, he knew he was playing a dangerous game here, he couldn’t just announce the existence of Greek Mythos, and most certainly not to a police officer, but at the same time, he didn’t feel like spending his life in prison for supposedly killing 5 year olds. “Also, It wasn’t a baseball bat, it was a sword” Tsukauchi’s right eye twitched, good.

“Ok…” he said “Mind enlightening me on why everything you said is registered as true yet it makes no sense” asked Tsukauchi.

“Don’t wanna” said Izuku with a shit-eating grin.

“If you don’t cooperate I’ll still need to jail you, you know” Izuku sighed.

“Fineeee, just don’t put me into a mental asylum or anything, and pause the recording this is personal” said Izuku, Tsukauchi looked at him weird, but did so, Izuku internally gave a sigh of relief, the detective’s fatal flaw was curiosity, kind of like Izuku’s was recklessness, or how Denki’s was being careless, or how Natsuo’s was holding grudges, Izuku could use Tsukauchi’s to his advantage “So... how do I start?”

.

.

.

Tsukauchi knew two things now, one, his entire world had just been turned on its head when his quirk registered everything the green-haired kid said as true, and they didn’t make sense, and two, the kid was innocent, and he’d just say hallucinogenic gas made it seem that way and that the corpses disappeared immediately, and that there was no record of such kids.

.

.

.

Izuku was still expelled, but now he was 14 and ending his school year, once the school year finished, Izuku’d be able to apply for UA, and he hadn’t gotten expelled last year! That was always a bonus, honestly thankfully he was still in contact with the detective who’s fatal flaw was curiosity, so in turn to learn more, he kept him out of trouble, and his school had a zero tolerance policy for quirk or quirkless discrimination, it was honestly going well! but it all suddenly sucked when walking home from school he noticed a villain attack with a hostage and such hostage was someone he hadn’t seen since he was six years old.

Bakugo Katsuki.

Chapter Text

Katsuki grumbled profanities to his teacher for losing his work as he continued walking down the alleyway that he used as a shortcut to get to his house, before he bumped into what he assumed was a wall, he cursed as he fell on his butt, looking up with a glare where he saw a sign saying the road was closed off for construction.

“The fuck!? How am I supposed to get home now!” He started cursing out the stupid sign and whoever decided to make a construction in an unused alleyway and walked back where he came from, shoving his hands in his pockets after letting out some of his excess sweat, smiling in a satisfied way at the familiar pops on his hands.

He walked through the streets of Musutafu, he knew he’d get home late now, after all he almost never used the long way, but rather the alleyway, he weaved through the crowds of people expertly, a talent he learned trying to go to break rooms whenever his parents were in their fashion shows showing off the clothes they made with tons of people in the crowd.

The streets were strangely full that day, he wondered why, but didn’t pay it any mind, he just wanted to get home and complain to the old hag about his teachers, at least she listened without wincing or flinching, unlike his old man who was way too soft spoken, he sometimes wondered if it was a facade he put on or something, the heat was raining down on everyone, but it severely annoyed Katsuki, more heat meant more sweat, which meant he needed to let out a few pops, but he was surrounded by people so he couldn’t just do it there, he knew the laws after all.

A shadow spread over him and the people around him before leaving, making Katsuki confused as he looked up, seeing the retreating form of All Might in the sky, Katsuki grinned, he forgot how good it felt to see All Might in the streets, which he normally couldn’t because of his shortcut, maybe he’d start using the main street more, however, he noticed something falling from the sky and out of All Might’s pocket, were those… two soda bottles? His eyes widened when he noticed they were going to fall on him, and he stepped back, the bottles broke upon landing and some weird and bad-smelling sludge with eyes came out, it grinned widely, suddenly expanding in size “Ha! not even All Might could keep me there, such an irresponsible man!” the sludge’s eyes scanned over the crowd, either frozen in fear or in Katsuki’s case, prepared to blow it into pieces.

Before Katsuki could even react, the sludge lunged for him, covering completely, he panicked, understandably, and tried to open his mouth, only for the sludge to force it’s way down his throat, he coughed and tried to grab at it, but his body wouldn’t budge, his arms felt like lead, his body wouldn’t move at all, he couldn’t breathe, and everything that the bystanders did was scream and run away, and while he found them incredibly cowardly for doing so, it also gave him the chance of using his explosions to get out of there, like the powerful hero hopeful he was, after all he was applying to UA that year, he released one on the palm deepest into the sludge, and it harmed the villain! pieces of it flew through the place, but they went back to its body just as quickly, not giving Katsuki any breathing room, his eyes widened considerably and even more than they already did, his quirk did nothing to the villain.

The villain didn’t waste any second, somehow taking control over Katsuki’s quirk, which made him panic even more, forcing his explosions with the accumulated sweat towards bystanders and buildings, his vision was clouding, but he could tell there were heroes on the scene, only Backdraft was actually doing anything by putting the fires caused by his quirk out, what were Kamui Woods, Death Arms, and Mt Lady doing!? they were just standing there being useless! he could feel his strength slipping away, was he going to die? All because the heroes were being stupid? It certainly felt like it.

His fear-filled gaze looked through the crowd, begging for help, he could already feel his quirk’s side effects, the pain in his arms, though it was nothing compared to the one on his lungs, his eyes landed on a boy with such dark green hair it looked black, and emerald eyes, he had a baseball bat with him, his eyes asked, pleaded, begged for the help he hoped would come, he felt his consciousness slip away, barely noticing the boy throw a bag of school supplies at the villain’s eyes, causing it to recoil and give him a bit of a breather, and while his oxygen came back, quirk exhaustion got to him and the last thing he saw before everything went black was the boy reaching for his hand, and he used his last ounce of strength to take it.
.
.
.
Katsuki groaned as he sat up, looking around, where was he? this place was by no means similar to the Musutafu streets, it looked like an enormous colosseum, strangely, he didn’t feel any pain, or exhaustion, even when he’d been forced to overuse his quirk like that, there were countless weapons on the floor, and in front of Katsuki stood a muscular man with black hair styled in a buzz cut, he was wearing a leather jacket, ripped jeans, a white shirt, and combat boots, he had a big bird with him which he didn’t recognize, but he was never a bird guy so he wasn’t really that confused as to why he didn’t know what bird it was, but if he had to guess, a vulture.

The man looked at him “Great, you’re awake, get up brat, we have much to talk about” said the man, Katsuki looked at him confused, feeling indignation bubble up within him.

“Oi!” he said, scrambling to get up, glaring at the man “I don’t know who you are, or where I am, but I’ll beat your ass if you talk to me like that, old man!” he threatened, popping some warning explosions in his hands, before realizing nothing happened, the sweat was there, but it didn’t ignite “What the-” his eyes widened, turning to look at the man who simply smirked at him, he stepped back “Who are you! what did you do to my quirk!?” he yelled out in fear, vaguely remembering the sludge villain controlling his quirk somehow, first he lost control of his own body and now he couldn’t even activate what put him above other people, he could feel his breathing speeding up.

The man apparently noticed as well, because his expression softened and he approached Katsuki with his hands up “Look, I’ve been told I have the emotional capacity of a teaspoon, but I can tell you’re panicking, but this is just a dream, ok? there’s nothing wrong with your quirk or body” he tried to reassure Katsuki from what he could see, with a bit of success, as Katsuki calmed down enough to have an actual conversation “As for who I am, My name’s Ares, I’m the god of war and your grandpa”.

Katsuki blinked once, twice, before yelling “HUH!?” he yelled, picking one of the random weapons on the floor, an ax, and throwing it at him, surprising himself at the precision of the throw, but the man, Ares, just sidestepped it without even blinking “What the hell are you talking about!! I’ve met all of my grandparents! And either way, none of them can communicate through dreams or whatever!” he yelled at Ares.

Ares only sighed “Have you?”

Katsuki blinked, did he meet all of his grandparents? he’d met his mother’s árents, and his father’s mother, his grandpa had died before Katsuki was born, did that mean- “The old man lied” he breathed out, feeling like his whole world was turned on i’s head, his grandfather was a god.

“Well, not really lied, normally the Greek mythos are supposed to be kept secret, you should’ve known, but for some reason, something is stopping your eyes from seeing through the Mist, eh, green boy’ll help you” he muttered, confusing Katsuki further, suddenly his expression changed to disappointment “Well, seems like you’re going to wake up, so uh, don’t freak out when you do, ok?” he said, and before Katsuki could ask anything else, the world exploded in a flash of white.
.
.
.
Izuku remembered that Masaru Bakugo was a soft-spoken man who hated conflict, but if that was the case, when in the Gods did he change? Izuku could only watch with a snort as he kept yelling and berating the pro heroes as the ambulance drove away, drowning out the noise caused by an angry and protective Masaru.

He glanced down at the unconscious body of Katsuki, wincing at the visible injuries in his arms, that villain did a number on him, didn’t he?, Izuku thought back to the villain attack, he had never seen Katsuki so terrified, but at the same time, had hadn’t seen Katsuki since he was six- he needed to stop calling him Katsuki.

They reached the hospital and Izuku waited outside the surgery room, he’d been told that Bakugo had ingested and breathed some of the villain’s sludge, so they needed a surgery to get it all out safely, Izuku couldn’t help but feel bad, he knew the feeling of not being able to breathe properly all too well, images of a hellhound basically breaking his ribs and almost completely crushing his lungs flashed through his eyes.

He pushed those thoughts away and looked around, noticing Mitsuki, Bakugo’s mom, enter the room with a haste he never remembered her having, and hurriedly speaking to the nurse, who pointed at him, he froze when her gaze landed on him and she dashed towards him, and he could tell, very easily, that she recognized him, just like Masaru did, even though he grew up to have a darker shade of green that it looked black, probably something to do with Hermes’ genes, and so, he already braced himself for the bone crushing hug she subjected him to.

“Oh, Izuku! Masaru, Katsuki, and I missed you and your mom so much! How are you!? Wait- Is Katsuki ok!? They told me he was in a villain attack and you saved him! Are you okay-” Izuku cut her off by placing a finger in front of her mouth.

“Me and mom are doing fine, I made a bunch of friends, and Kacchan is ok, he’s currently in surgery though, he inhaled and ingested some sludge, so they’re removing it from his body” he explained “I’m ok as well, I didn’t get hurt at all” he tried to ease her worries, unknowingly calling Bakugo Kacchan “uncle Masaru is coming soon, he stayed behind to yell at the heroes for not doing anything” he added with a chuckle, but stopped when he noticed Mitsuki’s confused expression. “What?”

“Masaru would never yell at anyone” she said with obvious confusion in her voice before the other words registered “Wait- MY BABY IS IN SURGERY!?”
.
.
.
The surgery was a success, mostly, Katsuki had permanent lung damage now, called Bronchilitis Obliterans or something, making it difficult for him to breath and a persistent cough, as well as temporary reflux from ingesting the sludge as well, in other words, his above average respiratory system became an average one, and he could only eat soft foods for now, which most had a similar consistency to the sludge villain, which didn’t help at all.

Katsuki groaned as he looked at the chicken soup in front of him, it was one of the only things he could eat without vomiting at the moment, and he was already tired of it, he needed to be outside training for the entrance exam! instead he was being babied by his parents, and he never saw the green haired boy again, but he certainly reminded him of someone, more specifically a certain quirkless kid who got expelled from the school, and seeing his old man constantly text in his phone now worried him, he was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that his dad was a demigod and never bothered to tell anyone, that would explain the insane amount of sports equipment he had in his closet, which, is Katsuki squinted, he could see what were numerous weapons.

He was pondering wether telling his dad about it or not, but as he took a sip of his chicken soup, he could see his dad’s face pale and a sense of dread filled him, and ran towards the door right before they knocked “The fuck?” he muttered, his mom was at work right now, so he was home alone with his father.

he strained his ears to listen to what was going on on the front porch.

“-I already fucking told you! Katsuki can’t see through the mist! There’s no reason for him to do so!” causing Katsuki to start having a coughing attack after his food went the wrong way, after he dealt with it himself in silence he tried to process what was said, that was his Father the soft spoken man who hated conflict and cursing was yelling and swearing at whoever was at the door, and they were talking about all that weird demigod business.

“Masaru, please! He needs to learn to defend himself from the monsters! he is still a descendant of Ares!” suddenly, the voice cut off, it was weirdly familiar, but from who? and why did they know that!?

A slap was heard. causing Katsuki to get up and walk there, Chicken soup forgotten, peeking through the wall, he shouldn’t interrupt, he needed to know where this went. “Sorry about that, but I did swear on my dad’s name that I’d slap the next descendant of Ares I saw, and I just found out recently so yeah” Katsuki had to suppress both a snort and the desire to go over and pulverize whoever decided to slap his dad. “But still, the sludge villain was possessed by an Eidolon! They were specifically looking for a demigod!” Katsuki froze. “He needs to learn to defend himself from the monsters!”

It seemed his dad relented because he sighed, and Katsuki took it as his cue to leave his hiding place, stepping out and seeing his dad and the green haired boy who saved him, with the baseball bat in hand, he squinted his eyes, seeing it turn to a sword before him, he stepped back, still not used to it, before calming down his breathing. “What’s this about me being a descendant of a god? and why is my old man so out of character! and who are you!? and what are you doing here!?” He knew the answer to the first one, not to the other two.

The green haired boy seemed to wince at that, and so did his dad “Uhm, does ‘Deku’ ring any bells?”

Notes:

If anyone is confused on the difference of reactions between Izuku and Katsuki after finding out the Greek work and stuff, please remember Izuku was seven, and kids are more prone to accepting sudden changes like that, unlike Katsuki, a teenager who already though knew how the world worked before it all got suddenly turned on his head.

Chapter 6: Hephaestus' Child

Summary:

Seventh expulsion for Izuku, and Izuku meets a pro hero face to face without freaking out.

Chapter Text

Izuku looked at the wheezing and coughing Katsuki on the floor, unimpressed, they had started to train him to at least be able to escape from monsters, while Percy tried to find out what exactly was stopping him from seeing through the mist, Denki and him had started to build up his lost stamina while uncle Masaru taught him about weapons, Natsuo had more responsibilities since he was looking into medical schools and couldn’t help Katsuki, but came every once in a while.

Denki helped Katsuki get his breathing under control, and Izuku had to remind himself Katsuki’s breathing had been messed up, and it wasn’t that Katsuki was an unathletic noodle, but it was hard not to, seeing him unable of running more than 20 meters at once “Have you been doing the breathing exercises your mom gave you so your breathing can at least become better than that?” asked Izuku, already knowing the answer based on Katsuki’s expression.

“I don’t need those stupid breathing exercises!!” Yelled Katsuki as he got up, wiping the dirt from his clothes, everyone in the forest (Izuku, Denki, and Percy) looked at him in deadpan.

“You can’t even run 20 meters Bakugo” snorted Denki, reflexively moving back from the explosion Katsuki let off, years of avoiding monsters did that, since Denki started also getting attacked the second he got blessed.

“HAH!? I’ll beat your ass you damn Pikachu!!” Katsuki let off more explosions as Denki laughed while running from him, naturally having more stamina and speed than Katsuki, well, at least it could possibly help him in the long run.

Izuku sighed, exasperated, this was going to be a long 10 months to the entrance exam.

.

.

.

Izuku looked over his notes one final time before entering the classroom, he had a test today and it wouldn’t do good to forget everything he read right during the exam, the notes were in Ancient Greek so he could read them, to bad that his teachers didn’t like him writing in it as well, he’d failed a few exams back when he realized he could read, write and speak in Ancient Greek better than in Japanese, he entered the room, saying hi to the few people that didn’t care he was Quirkless, sure, the school had a no discrimination policy, but a lot of people still didn’t like the Quirkless, he laid eyes on his desk neighbor, a tall boy with blue hair, who seemed to have a particular distaste for him, he sighed, there was no helping it.

He sat down right as the teacher entered the room with the exam paper in hand “Ok class, as you all know, we’re going to have a test today, you know the rules, no peeking over other people’s work, no technological devices, and no quirk use throughout the remainder of the test” he said in a tired voice as he began passing the papers through the class, when it reached Izuku he passed the pile to his neighbor and kept his papers, it was a science exam, something he was quite good at, so he should be happy, if it weren’t because he couldn’t make out most of the words. he had a less severe case of Dyslexia when compared to other demigods, just like Athena children, but it was still quite bad.

The exam itself wasn’t difficult, but his inability to read the questions or his answers made it quite challenging if he said so himself, but he was finally able to finish doing the dam thing. He smiled to himself as he got up, picking the exam, he was one of the last ones to finish.

As he walked towards the teacher with his exam in hand, his demigod reflexes kicked in, and he sidestepped immediately, he felt the wind of whatever was thrown at him, and his eyes went to the wall behind him, the classroom went silent, and there was a metal ball the size of his head embedded on the wall, cracks spreading around the structure, Izuku gulped, his eyes landing on the thrower of such thing that would’ve been his demise, his eyes landed on his desk neighbor, who seemed irritated as he stood up, and a dreading realization fell upon him. Laestrygonians .

He scanned the rest of the room, the tallests of the room were also getting up, and they pulled a marble out of somewhere, which grew to the size of his head Dam it!

He turned towards the teacher with an apologetic smile “I’m so so sorry!” he apologized, putting the paper on the teacher’s desk and running to the window, opening it and jumping right off, ignoring the panicked cries from his classmates and the breaking of the glass as the Laestrygonians threw their projectiles, wings sprouted from his feet right before he hit the floor, and he took off towards the football pitch, which was the least probable place to get collateral damage.

He could hear the Laestrygonians following close behind, growing to their full height, making even him with his enhanced speed and flight have trouble to stay away from them, he turned his ring into his trusty sword and landed on the football pitch, turning to face the monsters, the tallest one, and his desk neighbor, sneered “Just give up Demigod!! We've been waiting months to get you! You just can’t run away!”

Izuku smirked at them defiantly “In your dreams you assholes!” he said as he held himself in a running position before sprinting at them and jumping up, slashing the stomach of one of the giants, cutting it open, causing golden dust to fall from it. “Come at me” he said with a glint of crazy mischief in his eyes.

.

.

.

“Midoriya, may I know just what the hell happened today?” asked the principal, an older man who seemed to have infinite patience, and it seemed like it was genuinely running thin. His quirk was Jellyfish, giving him translucent skin, a gelatinous texture to his body, and other things like stinging tentacles.

“Do you want the long or short version?” asked Izuku innocently, he couldn’t damage his record more than it already was. At this point, 7 expulsions were bad enough already, he needed to stop spending so much time with Percy.

“Shorter would be appreciated” commented the principal with a tired tone in his voice, Geez, was he that tired of Izuku already? he hadn’t even said anything!

“Short it is” he sighed “My classmates tried murdering me during the test, I lead them to the football pitch and took care of them” he shrugged, it was technically the truth, he couldn’t be accused of lying, and it was exhilarating , he genuinely loved and hated when things like that happened, he loved the thrill of it, or maybe it was because it eased the part of him that wanted to prank someone else badly.

The principal blinked, confusion clear in his face, if the moment wasn’t so serious, Izuku would be doubled over crackling and wheezing, alas, his mouth only twitched a little bit, unnoticeable to the naked eye. “Your classmates tried to kill you. And you took ‘care’ of them” Izuku nodded along. “Midoriya, I find this story quite hard to believe since the classmates that were mentioned by the teacher all called in sick today”

Izuku’s eyes twitched, dam it, if only Tsukauchi was here, he could cover for him “Well you see principal, those bastards threw metal balls at me, I’m pretty sure they’re still in the classroom’s walls, and the windows are also broken now.” he said in a deathly calm voice.

“Midoriya, that is no way to treat your classmates! I excused you the first time last year when Pro Hero Midnight visited our class and you stole a bracelet she had on her, I have no idea how you did it, and I also have wasted all of my patience in you Midoriya-” he was cut off

“Oh fuck you! I didn’t steal shit-”

.

.

.

Izuku walked home with the expulsion letter in his pocket, cursing his principal in his mind, 8 expulsions were not good, UA wouldn’t even look at his application with the amount of expulsions and other stuff that he had in his record, he was genuinely fucked and he did not know what to do now, his best bet would be to beg at the knees of the principal, or somehow get Tsukauchi to clean his record in exchange for more info of the Greek world, who knew that someone else could pull notebooks out of nowhere aside from him?

A boom resounded in the street over, reminding Izuku of a not too good day where Katsuki had gotten almost murdered, speaking of Katsuki, his progress was immense, he excelled with the ax, his breathing became average again, a mix of stamina training and healing sessions with Natsuo, Percy, and Denki who all had a way to heal, and his body regained it’s normal physique, since he lost a lot of it during the time he wasn’t allowed to do physically demanding activities.

Izuku entered the street noticing Powerloader in the scene, beating up a villain with his mech, no obvious mutations could hint Izuku of the villain’s quirk, other than the fact that he was very tall, dangerously so, not too obvious, height got a lot more varied since quirks came in, people being 2 meters tall and people never bat an eye, but his height seemed to subtly change every once in a while, so his quirk was definitely being able to change his height, but to what extent? it didn’t seem to be much, either he needed time to do so, which Powerloader wasn’t giving him, or he had a specified range that wasn’t too big, maybe five centimeters up and down?

The unconscious body of the villain suddenly landed at his feet, he shrieked in surprise, literally jumping and kicking the villain in the ribs before he realized what he did “Oh shit I’m so sorry!” he directed the apology towards Powerloader, not the villain, something akin to recognition flashed in his eyes and Izuku knew that Powerloader was in the whole ‘Greek Mythos exist’ secret, if he had to guess, Hephaestus, he smiled at the pro hero as Powerloader took the unconscious villain and left him with the police, and as he was walking away, he leaned into Izuku.

“Meet me at the train station” he whispered, and Izuku nodded before slipping into the crowd unnoticed, going home and leaving his stuff on the bag, the expulsion letter attached to the fridge by a magnet, along with 7 others, when he’d caused mass panic, the hellhound incident, when he met Natsuo, when he stole the present mic watch, when he shot blackberry juice at his classmates, when he found the winged shoe power he had, the police incident, and now damaging the school’s infrastructure.

.

.

.

The train station wasn’t too busy, and seemed very empty, he scanned the crowd until his eyes landed on Powerloader in his civilian clothes, a grin split his face as he walked over to him waving his hand in greeting “Powerloader-san!” he called out, causing the man to flinch sharply and turn look at him.

He ran at Izuku with speed only demigods had and shushed him “Quiet! we’re in public-” he was cut off by Izuku.

“I don’t know your civilian name, what do you want me to say?” he chuckled at him with a challenging tone, if Powerloader’s hair wasn’t covering his eyes, he knew that he’d be narrowing his gaze.

“Maijima Higari” grit Powerloader- No! Bad Izuku! Maijima-san through his teeth with an irritated tone.

“Alright Maijima-san!” he smiled brightly “I’m Midoriya Izuku!” which apparently further irritated the pro hero, or maybe it was the fact that he just noticed one of his gloves was missing.

“Wait, where’s my glove!?” Izuku could feel Maijima’s gaze piercing holes through him “Oh you dam son of Hermes..” Izuku burst out laughing at the anger that radiated off of Maijima-san.

“Well, you’re more attractive that children of Hephaestus normally are” he chuckled, a compliment would surely either embarrass the pro hero or stray him from the fact that he stole the man’s glove.

Maijima glared at him “You can’t placate me with your silver tongue you snake!” Or maybe it would just irritate him further, he sighed.

“Whatever, now tell me, why did you make your vestigial mutation a quirk in the public registry?” he asked with a soft smile, and Maijima visibly deflated.

“How did you even know that!?”

“I’ve seen flames come out of your hand when no one else does, you’re the lucky child of Hephaestus to get pyrokinesis, now answer the question.” explained Izuku with a smirk.

“Fineeee, it’d be too weird for a visible mutation like mine to exist at the same time as pyrokinesis and other stuff, happy?” grumbled the grown man “Now tell me, what did you put in your quirk registry? the winged shoe thing I saw?”

Izuku froze, he never thought of changing his quirk registry from quirkless to one of his demigod powers- He should’ve really thought of that.

It was Maijima’s turn to start laughing “You never thought of changing it!? Why would you subject yourself to the torture of people thinking you’re quirkless!?” Izuku looked away with a blush, it’d be very hard to explain, but well… Natsuo, Uncle Masaru, hell- even Denki managed to explain their suddenly new quirks or facets of the original quirk, why couldn’t he?

“I- I’ll talk with my mom about it” he muttered before handing out his phone “Uh- would you mind putting your phone number in it? To keep in contact, I’ll add you to the group chat of my friend’s and I. We all are somehow related to the Greek Mythos” he explained sheepishly.

Maijima just chuckled, but nonetheless took the phone and put his number in “See ya later, you thief” he added a bit of snark to the last part of his answer, Izuku chuckled at that.

Chapter 7: Entrance Exam.

Summary:

New friends introduced, and an accident in the Entrance Exam

Chapter Text

Izuku sat with his mom in the office of the specialist, waiting for her to show up so they could register his speed as a quirk since it was the most easily seen thing and was the only thing Izuku couldn’t turn off, since it made him faster at everything, but specifically running, and he could pass his naturally cunning and quick-witted mind as another facet of his quirk, Izuku felt dumb, he spent most of his life keeping his file as quirkless when he could’ve just made one of his demigod powers a quirk, he should definitely thank Maijima-san when he can.

The doctor walked into the room, she was an older woman with blond hair tied in a bun and purple eyes. Izuku was glad she was old, as the older population were way more lax with quirk discrimination, she smiled at Izuku, and he smiled right back.

“Hello there, you’re Midoriya Izuku, right?” she asked him, and he nodded along “and you’re his mother I assume? She asked mom, to which she smiled and confirmed.

She nodded at her before looking at Izuku again “My name is Akira Yamamoto” she explained “mind explaining your situation to me Midoriya-kun?” She asked, and Izuku prepared his mental lie about a misdiagnosis.

He smiled at her “Well, turns out my quirk is mostly centered around my feet, so I ended up having an extra toe joint to help with it, but it was mistook for a sign of quirklessness, and I got misdiagnosed as a result, but recently we found out that it basically makes my body faster in every aspect, but mostly my legs and mind, which helps me think more quickly” he explained.

She blinked and looked at him with sympathy, which shocked Izuku. Did she have a misdiagnosis then? He wasn’t going to pry, but it made sense since her office centered around children who had a misdiagnosis “Are you capable of turning it off dear?” she asked with a kind tone.

He shook his head “I’ve tried before, and I can’t” he explained, and it was true, he’d tried to not be as fast in gym class because people got mad a quirkless child was faster than them, but he was incapable of doing so, it reminded him of Present Mic’s quirk, which was literally his voice, so it couldn’t be turned off, but he could adjust the volume accordingly, except no matter what Izuku tried, he couldn’t change his speed except from above average to superhuman-

His mom tapped his arm to snap him out of his thoughts, and his face became red once he realized he was muttering, it was a habit he had mostly cut, since displaying his thoughts out loud could be dangerous against semi-intelligent monsters, but he was unable to get rid of it completely.

Yamamoto-sensei simply chuckled at his antics “Very well then, it seems that your quirk is a mutant because of you being unable to deactivate it, yet you’re still capable of managing the output, say what is your basic output?” She asked.

Izuku answered immediately “Well as a child the normal one was just slightly above average, but right now it’s highly above average” he explained with a shrug.

She nodded “Very well I’ll ask you a couple questions and see some demonstrations from your quirk and we’ll get it registered ok?”

Izuku nodded with a smile, a small part of him felt bad for lying to her, but at the same time, his dad was literally the god of mischief so he didn’t feel as bad as a normal person should.

Updated Quirk Registry.

Name: Izuku Midoriya

Age: 15

Quirk: Speed

Quirk Type: Mutant

Quirk Description: The user’s body is faster than that of the average human in all aspects specifically the legs and mind, the user is capable of manipulating how fast their body works, ranging from slightly above average to superhuman speeds, originally believed to be quirkless because of an extra toe joint meant to help with the user’s balance because of his quirk.

.

.

.

Yokumiru Mera, the head of the hero training program of the HPSC, startled from his half-asleep state when his computer binged, lately Madan president had set an alarm for seemingly overpowered quirks being registered or updated, they had started coming in bulk 15 years ago, but the first one was 50 years ago, they all had something in common, they had little to no limits or drawbacks.

The first ones were someone who could heal anyone with a kiss, otherwise known as the pro hero Recovery Girl, the drawback? it took people’s energy, and that was with big injuries, as well as acid sweat that came with some berserker state when having strong emotions from one Masaru Bakugo.

The second one came ten years later, metal nails that could heat up indefinitely, and a small sign of pyrokinesis, also known as pro hero PowerLoader, with no drawback at all except sore hands.

The third one ten years later from the second one, capable of putting anyone to sleep with a smoke that came from her skin, from pro hero Midnight with literally no drawbacks.

but these last 15 years had someone capable of putting people in easily persuaded positions, but only for one Hitoshi Shinso to persuade, capable of making explosions from his sweat, also with a berserker state from Bakugo’s descendant Katsuki Bakugo, one Momo Yaoyorozu capable of creating anything using the lipids in her body, a dual quirk previously thought to be to release electricity from the body, but after a stressful event Denki Kaminari’s quirk evolved to include water manipulation to it, then a previously quirkless Natsuo Todoroki now able of manipulating light of all things, and lastly, the one that came just now, another quirkless individual whose body is literally faster in all the aspects of humans, Izuku Midoriya.

He knew he should go to the house of all this teenagers to sign them up for the training program, but he couldn’t be bothered to do so, demigods stick together and all that jazz, besides, his “mom” (because he was adopted, she was a virgin goddess) would be disappointed if he let this demigods suffer through that, he was already in her bad side for all of the previous kids in the program, and he didn’t want to anger her further, though she had calmed down after he toned down the training for the program, so he shut the alarm, and went back to his nap to regain the sleep he lost because of his employer.

.

.

.

4 months later, Izuku found himself in front of UA’s enormous gates, staring up in awe at it, he knew about it briefly, perks of having a UA teacher in his group chat, who had literally sent them the whole floor plan of the school, which he had memorized just in case, and he knew it would definitely help him find his place, so he took a step towards the school of his dreams.

Denki and Katsuki, the other two people he knew were going to UA were already inside, as he had decided to stay back and admire the view, or in Katsuki’s words “Stare up at the entrance for 10 minutes to make sure he isn’t dreaming”

While he continued walking, he felt a body collide with his own, he expertly managed to stay up by taking a few steps forward to get rid of the momentum caused by the collision, he then turned to look at the person who bumped him, seeing a boy with wild purple hair blinking at him with his purple eyes “Oh my gods I’m so sorry!” started apologizing the strangely attractive boy.

Izuku simply chuckled “It’s fine man, really, you’re headed for the heroics entrance exam, right?” He asked, Support exams were later in the day, and business and Gen Ed were tomorrow, so the question was a little stupid, but still.

The stranger smiled at him sheepishly. “Yeah I didn’t wanna be late” he said “Speaking of, what time is it?” Izuku checked his phone.

His heart dropped “We’re gonna be late!” he yelled before grabbing the boy and running with his Hermes speed, reaching the door to the auditorium with minutes to spare.

The boy looked at him incredulously “Hermes?” He suddenly asked, and Izuku froze, turning to look at him.

“What?” He asked in an oddly monotone voice “How did you-”

The stranger cleared his throat “Child of Aphrodite, my name’s Shinso Hitoshi” and Izuku felt a relief course through his body as he relaxed.

He smiled at him “Wait for me when the exam is over, I’ll add you to a group chat, I’m Midoriya Izuku by the way” he said before they entered the ginormous auditorium and went to their respective seats.

He put his ID by his table and waited patiently as the teacher-

OMG THAT’S ECTOPLASM-

He shut that train of thought before he went into a mental tangent and missed what was being said.

Ectoplasm began speaking “Hello everyone, today all of you will be taking one of the most important tests in your life, one that will possibly define your future-” Well wasn’t that reassuring? “-From this point onwards, you must take this exam with utmost seriousness and any cheaters can and will be disqualified from the exam before the practical”.

The atmosphere in the room became cold, and if Izuku didn’t know better, he’d assume Khione herself had entered the room.

Ectoplasm cleared his throat “With that out of the way, I will be handing over the tests, if anyone has some kind of problem that would interrupt or damage your performance, raise your hand”

Denki, Shinso, a purple haired girl with jacks hanging from her ears, a silver-haired boy with a blue mask and multiple arms, and Izuku all raised their hands, the two people he didn’t know probably had quirks related to sensory stimulation or something similar, and Shinso, and him had ADHD and Dyslexia, while Denki only had ADHD.

Ectoplasm nodded “Please follow me.” the five of them got up from their seats as the clones started delivering the tests, he sent the two unknown students somewhere else, a sound proofed room probably, gave Denki, who had the worst case of ADHD, some kind of stress ball, and gave Shinso and Izuku a rewritten version of the exam in… Ancient Greek?

Ectoplasm looked at their confused faces and sighed “Your parents told me of your Dyslexia and ADHD, told me you read that language better, and it’ll help keep you concentrated, if not then I’ll give you the original one” both Izuku and Shinso froze.

Izuku spoke first “Nope! it 's fine! Right, Shinso-kun?” He asked Shinso, he would not waste his time trying to make sense of words and this was a great advantage.

Shinso nodded along so fast that it could’ve given him whiplash and Ectoplasm sent them to their seats again, and so, the written exam started.

.

.

.

The exam was genuinely challenging and Izuku had to stop and reread various questions to make sure he was right, sure, his mind could analyze, and he was pretty sure he surpassed expectations on the analysis part of the exam, but the english section was a nightmare, if he had trouble reading Kanji, then English was genuinely something out of the Fields of Punishment, he only knew some of the spoken part because Percy, whose native language was English, taught them, but written was a different story.

He just hoped someone knew Ancient Greek in the UA staff aside from Maijima-san because he was more than sure he wrote some of his answers in the dead language.

He walked out of the auditorium joking with Denki and Katsuki about the exam, none of them had trouble reading because Denki was adopted by a god, not biologically, and was fluent in English, and Katsuki was a legacy whose mom’s genes were so strong that they drowned out the chance of Dyslexia or ADHD, so they spent the whole way to the auditorium teasing him because of his inability to read, he could speak multiple languages, perks of being the son of the god of communication, but could not for the life of him write in any of them.

He didn’t see Shinso after the auditorium, but he did see him when they reached the main auditorium for the practical briefing, which was enormous and that was an understatement, Denki and Katsuki went to their respectives seats as they separated people by schools, and he went over to the homeschooled section of the seats, Izuku had gotten homeschooled for the rest of the school year after getting expelled, and that was what they were counting on in the seat arrangement.

He sat down right by Shinso, and waved “Hi!” he smiled at him, Shinso literally jumped before looking at him and relaxing.

“Oh, it’s just you,” he said with a chuckle, before blinking “Wait, you’re homeschooled?” He asked.

Izuku chuckled “After getting expelled the last school year, we figured there was no way we’d pay for half a year of school so I simply entered online school for the remainder of the year”

Shinso snorted and looked at him in sympathy “Same, how many times have you been expelled?” He asked.

Izuku faked a thoughtful expression “eight times” he smiled.

Shinso’s jaw dropped, and he looked at him “ How? I got expelled nine times!”

Izuku smirked “Skill issue” he said before bursting into laughs, Shinso joining in “Ok, but in all seriousness, I have contact with a cop who saved me from getting expelled one time” he said with a smile, and he saw jealousy flash in Shinso’s eyes.

Shinso was about to answer to Izuku when the lights dimmed and Present Mic walked into the stage, and Izuku couldn’t stop the snicker that came out of his mouth, He still owned the watch he stole from him, before freezing, he realized he stole from almost all of the UA teachers from what he had been told by Maijima-san Crap .

Shinso tapped his arm when Present Mic spoke to snap him to the present.

Present Mic was in the middle of explaining the point system “-and the third robot gives you 3 points!” He seemed like he was going to continue speaking when someone interrupted him.

A blue haired boy with glasses and if Izuku had to guess, stick up his ass, stood up ramrod straight and called out “Sorry for my interruption, Sir, but you only mentioned three types of robots! Yet on the commercial pamphlet you all gave out mentioned 4 robots! Surely this mistake cannot be overlooked by such a prestigious school such as UA-”

Izuku tuned him out, and whispered to Shinso “Who shoved a stick up his ass?” he whispered in such a low voice that only Shinso and him heard it, and he helped Shinso hide his snort of laughter.

“I was just getting to that Little Listener! The fourth robot is a 0-pointer! you get no points from defeating it and it’s mostly an obstacle to be avoided!” Explained Present Mic with an easygoing smile.

The blue-haired boy at least had the decency to look embarrassed and bowed in a ninety-degree angle “Pardon my interruption then! I’m very sorry!” and sat back down like nothing had happened.

Present Mic continued “No problem Little Listener! Now! Everyone head up to your designated buses, which are marked in the card you were given when you finished the written exam!” Izuku checked his, Arena D, and when he peeked into Shinso’s card, they had the same arena.

“Well, looks like we have the same Arena!” he announced with a nervous smile as they started walking to the locker rooms to change.

Shinso frowned “Why are you so nervous, I think we’ll ace this exam” He said with a proud smirk.

Izuku blinked before chuckling “Yeah well, not if monsters get in, we’re two demigods from fairly powerful gods, not as strong as the Big Three, but still quite strong, so it’s a high chance of monsters entering the test site” He muttered sadly

Realization crossed Shinso’s face “Fuck.”

“Fuck Indeed”

.

.

.

After going to the bus (Maijima-san had approved of their weapons beforehand) and getting off in their arena, Izuku noticed the stuck-up guy within the crowd of students “Great. Sonic is here” he muttered, Shinso turned to him in confusion.

“Sonic?”

“You didn’t see the engines on his legs? Or the blue hair? He seems like stuck up Sonic to me”

Shinso snorted “Guess you’re right”

The previously mentioned Sonic suddenly turned his head towards them narrowing his eyes, Izuku and Shinso both shut up immediately.

Present Mic’s voice sounded through the speakers “GO!”

Shinso, Izuku, and a few other students, one of them being a brown-haired girl he had seen before, she’d stopped a red haired boy from falling on the ground on the entrance.

“WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS IN REAL LIFE! THOSE 15 HAVE THE RIGHT IDEA!”

Izuku tuned out Present Mic and separated himself from Shinso with a salute, pumping up his speed to slash it across the chest, it had hints of celestial bronze in some points, he could see them, and used them to his advantage to hit his sword against them, easily cutting through it.

1 point.

He continued slashing through robots left and right, using his speed and trying to avoid spawning the wings on his legs, or stop himself from taking some of those circuit boards for himself, they were shiny, and were probably valuable, he could sell them for-

A 3-pointer almost smashed him in the head, he needed to stop getting lost in his head, really! He quickly finished it off and jumped onto another rooftop, killing the one there before going down the fire escape, he was in about 50 points or so, he’d take it, now that he was focusing, Izuku noticed how many people were near getting hurt.

He quickly ran and pushed a, orange-haired girl from a piece of rubble that was about to fall on her from behind her, she looked mad before noticing why he had pushed her, and simply muttered out a “thanks” before ending the robot she had been fighting with an enlarged fist.

He nodded at her and continued, saving a blond haired guy who could shoot lasers from his stomach, the boy had been fighting someone on the roof, and the recoil from his laser made him get thrown back and out of the roof, he caught him before he fell, smiling at him before leaving him on the floor and running off, and it continued like that for a while

A sudden burst caught his attention, snapping him from his half-assed people saving spree, and he saw a behemoth of a robot.

“What the fuck!?” Shinso was here, ok, he turned to look at him, and Shinso was already looking at him, they both nodded at each other, and ran off in the opposite direction before a yell of pain caught Izuku’s attention and he stopped, looking for the source, his heart dropped.

Stuck under the rubble was the brown haired girl, even worse, she was in the 0-pointer’s path, and even much worse, a hydra broke through the wall.

.

.

.

Higari suddenly stood up with urgency nobody had seen from him before, he connected eyes with Nedzu, who he knew saw the same thing, but couldn’t make sense of it since he never read mythology “Sir, I need to go there!” He said, not waiting for a response, that monster had smelled Shinso and Midoriya, and he was not going to let it kill them.

“I’m coming with!” Yelled Midnight as she caught on step with him, he knew she was a daughter of Hypnos, so they’d be able to deal with it great, however, before they could leave, a gray scarf wrapped around their bodies.

“Shota, I swear to the gods above and under that if you do not let us go right this instant I will make your life miserable!” yelled Midnight, surprising Higari, but even then, that was not the point right now, he turned to glare at Eraserhead, the owner of the scarf, who was glaring at them.

His tired voice spoke “I don’t know what has gotten you so riled up, but you  are not supposed to interfere with the exam in any way” Higari heard enough.

He started heating up his nails, the only way to fake his pyrokinesis for a quirk, and glared at the hobo-looking ass man “The student’s lives are in danger you damn bonehead!” He yelled as the scarf caught on fire from his powers, they took Eraserhead’s confusion and pain at suddenly having the fire spread to the part still coiled around his neck to run off and into the auditorium.

.

.

.

Denki and Katsuki were enjoying themselves in their own arena together, destroying robots left and right when they heard a ginormous explosion come from a nearby arena, probably the zero pointer, what was definitely not because of the zero pointer, was the text he received while he zapped a robot.

Got ya wallet : HYDRA IN ARENA D, BROKE 0-POINTERS FOOT, 0-POINTER ABOUT TO CRASH ON A STUDENT, NEW DEMIGOD FIGHTING OFF THE HYDRA WHILE I TRY TO GET HER OUT OF THE WAY, COME ASAP.

Denki froze, and looked over at Katsuki to see he also received the message, he texted back.

Lanturn : omw w Katsuki.

He grabbed onto Katsuki and he blasted them off into the easily recognizable Arena D, the hydra was big, Powerloader and Midnight were heading towards it, there was acid everywhere, and the 0-pointer was about to collapse over Izuku and a brown haired girl.

Denki looked at Katsuki “I’ll help with the hydra! you get the girl out of the way!” he yelled as he dropped himself from Katsuki and used the water from the pipes to get him a safe landing and then directed it at the heads of the hydra, landing by a purple-haired boy with a sword.

The boy looked at him “Demigod!?” he asked.

He shook his head “But close enough!” he called out as they ran towards the nine-headed lizard, evading the acid spit, they quickly formed a defense against it, Denki would blind one of its heads with lightning, or drown it, and the other boy would slash at it but without cutting the neck to avoid it from multiplying, a smart move.

They managed to wear it down a bit before the pro heroes arrived “Step off, kids! Midnight and I will deal with it!” called out Maijima-san.

Denki nodded and grabbed the other boy by his hand and dragged him away “Powerloader is a child of Hephaestus!” he called out to give the boy peace of mind as they ran and helped carry the now free girl out of the 0-pointer’s range, who had gotten stuck on a building, but said building was collapsing.

Denki used the water in the pipes again to redirect the rubble and get them out of danger, once they were, they collapsed on the floor, demigods had crazy stamina, but it was more because of adrenaline leaving their body, none of them fought a hydra before, or had one of their classmates be a main target, even if unknowingly.

Denki forced his eyes to look at the fight, Midnight had made the hydra go to sleep with Maijima-san cut through the neck and burnt it until there were no more heads, and it turned into golden dust, showering both heroes with it.

The hurried steps of someone and a cane hitting the floor pried Denki’s eyes from the scene to see both Recovery Girl and Natsuo running over to them “Natsuo? what are you doing here?” He asked.

Natsuo looked at them “I’m interning with RG over here, she’s a child of Apollo as well” he explained sheepishly.

Recovery Girl ignored him, landing right by the unconscious brown-haired girl and healing her ankle up with a kiss, then looked at the boy and him disapprovingly, and just then did Denki noticed some acid had fallen on his jumpsuit, he smiled sheepishly at her, she just sighed and gave both him and the boy a kiss.

He felt tiredness wash over him “Be more careful you boys, hydras are no joke! you’re lucky to have survived as it is” a chill ran down Denki’s spine at that and the threatening tone on her voice, he quickly nodded, she gave them some vitamin gummies or something, and an extra package for when the girl woke up.

As they were walking outside the school, Izuku and him were talking with the newly introduced Shinso while Katsuki (the most physically fit of the four somehow, even if was only a legacy, and found 10 months ago) carried the girl on his back, they stopped at a park until she woke up.

Denki opened up his phone to the chat.

Chapter Text

Ochako Uraraka was confused.

She always had weird dreams ever since she was a child, strangely vivid dreams of things that would end up happening sooner or later, she thought it was her quirk, but no, she also saw weird things around her no one else seemed to notice, like one-eyed people that others thought only had two eyes, or ginormous people that brought metal balls out of their pocket like candy, throwing them like rocks, she even once saw a metal bull of all things, and people mentioned it was a big tractor .

Her life was strange, it got stranger when on the night before the UA entrance exam, she had a dream, a weird one, a red-haired girl in front of her, paint on her clothes and face, holding a paintbrush, she felt oddly familiar to her, but she couldn’t pinpoint why, all she could hear was:

”You’ll meet them tomorrow”

And then she woke up.

Then during the entrance exam, she had gotten a steady streak of points, she was quite certain of being able to get into UA, she’d gotten 28 points by now, and she trusted her dreams, and a week before, she’d gotten a dream of UA giving people “rescue points” of saving people, and she was sure she’d saved a lot of people.

That was though, before everything went wrong.

The zero pointer had just been released, she was queasy already from quirk overuse, when she tripped on rubble, and to further down on her bad luck, a piece of rubble fell on top of her foot, trapping her in a position where she couldn’t get the piece of rubble properly at all, and to make matters worse, a nine headed lizard broke through a wall, and she was ninety percent sure that it was not part of the exam.

She froze in fear looking at the thing, it’s watching how it spit into the general direction of two of the exam takers, a purple haired boy and a green haired boy, she yelled for help, her blood pounding in her ears and a headache forming, the adrenaline making her capable of ignoring the sharp pain on her ankle and nausea, she couldn’t hear much aside from her blood and the sounds of the lizard right by her.

One of the boys, the green haired one, ran to her while the other one grabbed a Sword out of his pocket like it was a pen and started attacking the thing while the boy with her tried to get the rubble off of her, he was strong, that much was obvious, but that piece was quite heavy, you knew that kinda stuff when it squished your foot, so it didn’t help all that much.

She heard explosions in the distance, and she sincerely hoped it was from people coming to help and having to fight other robots to get there, and not the zero pointer who was 5 steps from crushing her.

She let her gaze land on the purple boy, he was struggling, that much was obvious, sweat making his skin shiny, he was quite attractive if she was being honest- No! Don’t fantasize about people when you’re about to die! she shook herself from those thoughts when she noticed the zero pointer leaning towards them, kind of like it was falling, not stepping, that’s when she noticed it’s foot had been melted by the lizard’s acid.

She swore, struggling even more to help the boy get the rubble off of her when two blondes landed, one of them, who looked quite muscular, started helping with the rubble, managing to push it off, and the other one with a lightning bolt in his hair, used water and lightning somehow to blind the thing.

However, she was out of imminent danger now, so she let the sleep she had been fighting off overtake her right when she saw the other two boys approaching her.

Her last thoughts before her consciousness left her was what the hell?

.

.

.

Waiting for the exam results was nerve-wracking, but at least Izuku had some things to pass the time, which included but were not limited to: Explaining to Uraraka about the Greek world, trying to get his strength up so what happened at the Entrance Exam wouldn’t repeat, because like- sure, he technically could lift a fridge filled with cement without issue, but it took two of them to lift that piece of rubble, granted, it was bigger than him and filled with not only cement but rebar and other stuff that he didn’t know, and lastly, try to ignore Maijima from constantly complaining about one of his co-workers and the damage done to the zero pointer thanks to the hydra.

All in all, he was mostly busy to actually worry about his exam results, since after he told Percy about Uraraka, he’s been dying to meet her, something about some girl called RED or something, but he still wasn’t sure whether he should subject Uraraka to Percy or not.

At the end, the decision was made for him when he was hanging out with her and Denki in a coffee shop when Percy literally burst through the doors, searching like a wild animal until his eyes landed in Izuku, and he remembered that fact that Percy was in fact a god, and he was royally screwed for not doing what he said, he could feel the pressure building up around him. Yup, he was done for, this was goodbye to his short life of fifteen years-

“Oi!” the yell snapped him out of his death thoughts, as well as the smack he got on his head “What the hell dude! I told you to introduce me to her! But you ignored my messages!” He looked up sheepishly at Percy, who had a mock hurt expression on his face.

“Uh- who’s he?” Asked Uraraka from her spot, and Izuku chuckled nervously.

He motioned towards Percy who now sat with Denki trying out a mobile game Denki got, he seriously acted like a dad sometimes, even patting Denki’s head “Meet Percy Jackson, Greek god of the tide, pure water, family, self-sacrifice, and loyalty, also apparently the friend of your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandma who he calls RED and is apparently an oracle living in New York.

Uraraka looked confused, which made sense, Izuku felt similarly after saying the word “great” nine times as well as when Percy told him about it the day after the entrance exam.

“What the fuck?”

.

.

.

Uraraka and Percy hit it off quite well, very well actually, it was concerning and he was now scared of what Percy would teach her, especially so when he introduced her to a blue plastic hairbrush.

Izuku was familiar with the story that Percy told him, of that Rachel girl hitting the lord of time in the eye with a blue plastic hairbrush, and when he found out Uraraka had a similar aim he swore he could feel a chill crawl up his spine.

Uraraka was also quite mad when she found out that Dare industries existed, and threw the brush so hard it embedded itself into a tree of the forest they were training in, and even if Percy was insanely proud, Izuku could see how his face lost all color after seeing that.

Right now, Izuku was playing chess with Denki in his house when his mom walked in, well, more like ran in since she slammed the door open by bumping into it.

“Your letters are here!” She called out with a smile, and their game stopped, as well as the people playing it.

The first person to snap out of it was Izuku, basically dashing towards the entrance of Denki’s house where there were in fact, two envelopes, one addressed to him and one addressed to Denki.

His heart beat soared, and he grabbed both of them, sitting in Denki’s living room, dragging Denki with him, who had just gotten out of his shock.

“Come on!” He said happily as he gave Denki his letter “You open yours first!” He said smiling.

Denki nodded “Don’t need to tell me twice!” and Denki ripped the envelope open, a disk falling onto the table.

Confusion filled both of their faces before a projection of Maijima in his hero costume appeared from the disk, giving a lazy wave.

Hey there Kaminari” said projection Maijima with a smile “I’m here to deliver your test results! You managed to surpass expectations with a surprising 92% in the written exam! And you got a total of 50 villain points, but that’s not all. We had a secret point system and your heroic actions at the end of the exam, even if they broke the rule of not going to other test sites, granted you a total of 30 rescue points! giving you a grand total of 80 points! Landing you in third place on the whole exam! This is your hero academia!

Silence fell upon the wide eyed teens, only being broken by Izuku’s loud cheering as he started shaking Denki like a ragdoll “You got in Denks! You got in!”

Denki had a dorky smile that widened as the reality of the situation sunk in “I got in!” he beamed as he shook Izuku back “Open yours!”

Izuku tore open the envelope, the same disk falling on the table, a hologram of Maijima-san appeared again “ Hey there Midoriya ” He gave a wave as well, seeing as how he couldn’t fist bump a hologram “ I know you were staying at Kaminari’s house this week, so I managed to get it sent to you, but not more dawdling ” He smiled “ You got an impressive score of 97% in the written exam! Not getting a one hundred just because of the english section ” Izuku’s eye twitched, that section of the exam still haunted his nightmares and he needed to take tylenol every time he woke up with a headache “ During the practical exam, you scored a total of 45 villain points! However, we also had a secret point system based on your heroic actions, and with how you acted throughout the exam, you got a total of 50 rescue points! Giving you a sum of 95 points! Giving you second place on the exam! Congrats! This is your hero academia!

Izuku couldn’t believe it. He actually passed, and in second place no less! He didn’t know when the famous Midoriya tears that made Percy wonder if he was a legacy of Poseidon sprouted from his eyes, but he was so happy he couldn’t even say sorry to Denki, who was already used to it and was taking any electrical devices and things that could be broken away.

.

Shota walked into Nedzu’s office, already missing the precious hour of sleep he would have gotten before planning all his lessons for the year, since according to Hizashi, he was as much of a workaholic as he was a procrastinator, and left such thing until last notice and worked on other things from his underground hero work, but no his rat of a boss and ex-teacher decided to call him into his office for a supposed meeting.

He was expecting some kind of meeting one on one with him about the number of students he was allowed to truly expel, since he’d become very adamant that he drastically lower those numbers after he expelled his whole class last year, even if they thoroughly deserved the reality check, and even then, some of them managed to re-enroll through the sports festival.

What he wasn’t expecting was to find Powerloader and Nemuri sharing tea with Nedzu when he walked in, nor was he expecting the former two to start glaring at him like he killed their pets.

Nedzu smiled at him “Ah, Aizawa-kun! Please take a seat, your co-workers wanted to have a word with you” at which his grin widened even more and Shota swore he could feel literal ice crawl up his spine, which has happened before, with a villain with such quirk, it was not a pleasant experience and he would’ve probably died had he not erased her quirk quick enough.

He took a seat after nodding, looking at his friend and co-worker, before Powerloader began speaking “Ok so, first of all, sorry for that” he said, pointing to his bandaged neck and shoulders, one of the reasons he wasn’t wearing his capture scarf, the man had somehow set it on fire, giving him second degree burns and both Recovery Girl and Hizashi forced him to not wear it for the time being, which left him feeling thoroughly exposed, but never mentioned it. “But also, you deserved it, you put three young lives in danger during the entrance exam”

Powerloader said it so seriously it confused Aizawa, a three-pointer near the zero-pointer was no big deal, and they had already left by the time the three-pointer accidentally broke the zero-pointers leg, and none of them had a premonition quirk, he didn’t either, so it only made sense Aizawa stopped them before they made a ruckus during the exam.

Nemuri must have noticed his confusion as she cleared her throat “What Maijima-san is trying to say is that someone with an acid quirk broke into the exam area and with help from someone with an illusion quirk, disguised as a three-pointer, but me and Maijima-san dealt with the one with illusion quirk before, and knew how to not fall for them, and seeing a three-pointer appear from nowhere is quite confusing, and the kids that were in danger noticed as well.” She finished, and Shota felt his blood freeze up.

He looked them dead in the eye “You mean to tell me two villains not only broke into UA, but also that two middle-schoolers had to fight them while two others saved another one from a collapsing building-sized behemoth, and because there was an illusion that only you two managed to see through, yet when I stopped you, I put the lives of five kids in danger.” He asked, just to make sure he was hearing right.

Nedzu chose that moment to pipe in “Yup! And because of your flawed analysis of the situation, we discussed your punishment already!”

Shota felt the blood leave his face, Nedzu’s punishments could range from more paperwork to a manhunt in which if he got found out he would get dissected mentally by Nedzu and having to listen to his manic muttering for over two hours.

Seeing his expression, Nedzu’s grin widened even more, and Shota truly felt fear for the first time in his life since his second year at UA.

.

.

.

Shota was oh so wrong, the manhunt was not the worse punishment Nedzu could deliver, he left the office with a pale face and quivering knees, he didn’t know Powerloader could get so creative with threats, but he did not want to wear his intestines as a replacement to his capture weapon, or be forced to eat his own fingers fried with oil mixed with his blood.

The punishment made Shota’s entire hero career seem like a walk in the park and he was thoroughly terrified of the consequences of it.

He knew he put the lives of the children in danger now, that much was obvious, but he did not expect that kind of punishment at all, he could already feel his sleep running away from him, if there was a god out there, they certainly hated him at that exact moment.

.

.

.

Somewhere far away, a man with light silver hair and glazed over eyes watched through his little pond of underwordly water, a frown on his face, the rest of his body hidden by a cloak that looked strangely like a blanket wrapped around him, his pale skin glistening with the fire of the underworld as he listened to both tortured cries, confused murmurs, and happy shouting.

He looked back into his pond, watching the reflection of a black-haired hobo man who looked like he might collapse the next minute “Damn right I do” he muttered before looking up, a soul would be reincarnating soon, and he needed to give them some droplets of the Lethe river for them to forget their last life.

.

.

.

A deeply disfigured man grunted in exhaustedness as his wife trashed against his hold “Let me go! I’ll tear that man to pieces and make some random villain fall for him and kidnap him for putting my child in danger like that!” He sighed tiredly, having heard that threat multiple times, as well as one of giving him a yandere that would kill all his loved ones, He didn’t understand how Hitoshi was such a favorite of Aphrodite, though maybe it had something to do with him being her first child in two centuries, seeing how Apollo and Hermes struggled against some of the other Olympians, apparently the girl inherited something that one of Apollo’s favorite mortals had, and she was also a descendant of the woman, and he was protective of her in the woman’s behalf, he winced once he heard both of their threats, that teacher was fucked, genuinely fucked, None of the gods were satisfied with his sadistic punishment.

.

.

.

Shota felt a chill crawl up his spine for the second time that day, and he shakily walked into the teacher’s room, collapsing on one of the couches, snuggling into his sleeping bag that was nearby, but sleep never came for him at all, and his dry eye was taking too long to get better, even with the specialized eye drops Recovery Girl gave him.

.

.

.

Izuku was eating with his friends in Katsuki’s house with Percy and Masaru present as well as all their parents, so while the adults were talking with each other, Percy, Uraraka, Shinso, Denki, Katsuki, and him were in the latter’s room playing a pre-quirk era fighting game Percy got to Katsuki as a gag gift because of his heritage, it was an actually good game, it was even funnier when only Katsuki and Izuku won, since none other had actual experience or skill, not even Percy, who grew up with it, he was apparently to poor for it, and once he was actually wealthy enough to buy it, he was busy trying to survive two wars, which he was explaining to Uraraka and Shinso as the other three had heard it before, and it was a bad story, too much death and gore, Izuku already had that in his day to day life with the monsters, no use dealing with those in stories as well.

He and Katsuki were stuck in the final, fighting each other in what seemed to be a constant tie while Denki leaned on Katsuki’s bed playing a mobile game, listening to the noise of Percy’s tale while both Shinso and Uraraka continued losing their face’s color as the tale continued over the 1 hour mark, which made sense considering the tale was a total of 5 years, and he had only just finished the first year.

A note suddenly appeared in Izuku’s face, distracting him and letting Katsuki win the match.

“HAH!! TAKE THAT YOU KLEPTOMANIAC BASTARD!” Katsuki said proudly, before stopping once he noticed Izuku’s pale face and the note in his hands, wordlessly, Izuku turned the paper for everyone else (who had quieted down) to see, it was in Ancient Greek, which only Izuku, Shinso, Katsuki, and Percy could understand, and all of them paled as well, barring Percy, who only smiled.

”Heard you all passed the entrance exam! We’re so proud up here in Olympus! Anyway, we sent a few gifts to you, they start with H and end with ero costumes! Please wear them or we’ll be very sad :c”

“Love, your Godly parents”

Izuku wasn’t scared about the fact that their godly parents sent them a letter, Ares and Hermes already did that throughout the time they knew their heritage, it was the gods’ use of emojis, and the crazy ideas they probably had for their hero costumes, and having to wear them was basically and order when a god with the power to end the world with a snap of their fingers told you to do so.

Notes:

I'm really sorry for my inactivity, but Exam were really close and I either spent my time studying or doing such exams, but now that my school year is coming to an end, I'll be able to make some more chapters and publish them :)

What do you think Aizawa's punishment is?

Edit: Just noticed I didn't add Natsuo so let's just say that he was busy helping RG in UA's infirmary :sob:

Chapter 9: QAT

Summary:

the QAT, Momo joins the squad, Izuku meets a big dog, and Shota is cooked.

Chapter Text

Izuku stared at the ginormous door that lead to 1A, he was both surprised and not because it probably was to accommodate those with height mutations, and at the same time to intimidate anyone that there was.

He was currently with Shinso only because Katuski decided to go ahead of them, and Denki and Uraraka were going to come in later because of their proximity to the school.

He glanced at him, still confused, because for once in that guy’s life, he was actually neat, his messy hair that sometimes defied gravity when he was just waking up was now slightly less messy, and he had actually gotten a good night’s sleep, so his eyebags weren’t as noticeable.

He poked the silent Shinso on the shoulder “Hey man, we kinda need to go in” he said with a lopsided smile before realizing and dropping it. “Fuck. Percy’s rubbing off on me” he muttered sadly, snapping Shinso out of his silence with a surprised laugh.

He patted Izuku’s shoulder “Too dam bad” he said with a smirk before grabbing his arm and leading them into the room.

Inside where not a lot of people, about five without Shinso and him, including the guy with the stick up his anus, Katsuki, a green-haired girl with her tongue out, a peppermint looking guy he looks wealthy and a girl with black hair in a ponytail.

Wait… he narrowed his eyes as he stared at her.

“Holy shit…” he muttered, before looking away once her gaze landed on him, instead he just ignored everyone else and speed walked to his assigned desk, staring at the floor as he felt flush creep up his cheeks, why was she here!? Fuck. did she remember him? That was so embarrassing oh my gods-

“Yo man, you ok?” He snapped out of his thoughts by Shinso looming over his desk with Denki. When did he get here? .

He sputtered, trying to find his words, why was this happening to him!? He was so embarrassed, holy shit- “Yup! I’m ok, just an embarrassing memory” he admitted with a nervous smile.

“Midoriya!” He looked at the door, smiling at Uraraka when she came into the classroom.

“Hey! What 's going on?” he said before he heard a noise, and like clockwork Denki, Shinso and Izuku looked at a vent on the roof, they were the ones with most situational awareness with the whole “if you lose your concentration a monster will eat you” thing looming over their heads more than Ochako and Katsuki, since they had it for 10 months max, rather than ten to nine years.

Anyway, there was someone on the vents basically, and seeing them act like that, tipped off the rest of the people (who had come in when Izuku was dying in a pit of embarrassment) to get wary and watch that spot on the ceiling as well.

the vent rattled, and everyone stilled, Izuku gripped his ring tighter, just in case.

it fell, and a human dropped from it, relieving some but not all of the tension.

He looked at everyone, he had black eyes and long black hair, with eyebags to rival Shinso’s and a messenger bag across his chest.

He narrowed his eyes at them, before nodding, seemingly approvingly from what he said next “All of you noticed me, even if it was following someone else’s example, good job, I’m Shota Aizawa, your homeroom teacher” he said before pulling clothes out of the bag “Put these on and meet me at training ground Beta, if you take more than ten minutes you’re expelled.

The second he said that, he left, and everyone madly dashed for a uniform and ran for the locker rooms on the other side of the hall.

All except Uraraka, Izuku, Shinso, and the black-haired girl, when Denki noticed he raised an eyebrow at them.

Shinso spoke up “We’ll get trampled if we go there, and it was an empty threat” he said, everyone else nodding as well.

Denki seemed confused “What do you mean? it seemed pretty real to me”

Uraraka chuckled “Well, they’d know because of their parentage, the girl behind Shinso probably picked up on it, and so did I” she said with a smile, and Izuku immediately knew that she dreamed of it.

“Either way” he said getting up “We can still get in trouble, let’s go.”

.

.

.

Shota yawned, the only way he could get past Nemuri’s punishment was to sleep in the vents where she (or anyone else for that matter) couldn’t reach him, but his sleeping bag had gotten confiscated by Nedzu and he wasn’t going to fight him for it no matter how much he hated not having it.

He stared at the five kids who got done in less than three minutes, Midoriya, Shinso, Kaminari, Bakugo , and Yaoyorozu if he was correct, soon joined by Uraraka, the five seemed quite close, but Uraraka and Shinso less so than the rest, Yaoyorozu not quite so. It was interesting, but he didn’t meddle in his student’s lives for a reason.

The only thing he checked in their files was their name, age, and things Nedzu considered important from the files, as to not create a bias, since some schools would manipulate records to make certain students look better or worse.

Either way, he nodded approvingly at the six early students as Iida and Todoroki trickled in, the rest of the class in tow, all seeming quite shaken about the whole threat of expulsion, except the previously mentioned group of five and Yaoyorozu, all of them noticed it was an empty threat then, good.

He cleared his throat and spoke up “We’re doing a quirk assessment test today using the same test you did from middle school, back then you were forced to do the tests quirkless, which is illogical as you can’t measure the full potential of someone if they don’t give it their all, any questions?” everyone seemed intimidated and excited at the same time, before a brave soul - Ashido his brain provided- raised her hand.

He motioned for her to continue “What about orientation?” she asked with a confused look on her face.

He grinned, sending chills down everyone’s spines “UA is known for its freestyle education system, this also includes teachers, and we have the option of skipping certain events for more important ones, it’s illogical to sit in a chair for multiple hours to listen to Nedzu’s manic rambling instead of preparing you all to be heroes”

Some eyes slipped towards Midoriya when he mentioned ramblings, did he ramble too? That was to be seen.

He looked at Bakugo “Bakugo, what was your score in middle school?” He asked, the boy in question grinning proudly.

“70 meters, sir” he said with confidence.

He passed him a softball and motioned for him to go up the podium where the chalk circle was drawn. “Now throw it with your quirk, don’t hold back.” He said as he watched a wide grin spread in Bakugo’s face.

He stretched a little before throwing the ball with a yell of “die” as an explosion came from his palms, impulsing the ball much further than it normally did. Shota checked the distance in the device in his hands that he never managed to understand.

“706.34 meters, not bad” he announced to both Bakugo and the class, Bakugo smiling proudly as his friends congratulated him and the rest of the students regaining their excitement.

“Wait, this sounds so fun!” was one of the few things he heard. Great, time for the trick .

He fixed his glare on them “ Fun? You think this is fun? I have three years to prepare you all to become heroes and you think it’ll be Fun ?” he said in a deathly cold tone, before grinning once again “How about this? The person that ends up last will be judged to have no potential and be expelled.”

He ignored their shouts of indignance and lead them to the 50-meter dash.

.

.

.

Izuku followed behind Aizawa, talking with Denki about what they their hero costumes looked like, since they still hadn't gotten to see at all, which slightly irritated Izuku, but he could deal with it honestly.

He noticed the black-haired girl (who he now knew was called Yaoyorozu from Uraraka telling them) looking at them from time to time, and he just hoped that it was because of the weird theme of conversation rather than anything else. like her being a monster .

“Midoriya!” He snapped to attention, looking at Aizawa

“Yes, Aizawa-sensei?” he asked.

“It’s your turn with Iida” he said. Great, stuck up sonic.

He walked towards the field after stealing a glance at Yaoyorozu, she wasn’t looking at them anymore, thank the gods.

He waved at Iida with a friendly smile “Hi! Good luck!” He said happily as he got into a runner’s position, waiting for Aizawa to tell them to go.

“Now!” he called, and Izuku shot off, running at full speed towards the finish line, reaching it in about three seconds if he could guess, at the end, the robots announced the scores.

“3.08 Seconds!”

“3.08 Seconds!”

Iida looked shocked, but Izuku was so disappointed that he didn’t notice, he knew he could do better than that, he’s done better than that, so why did he go slower now? It was confusing and he was worried, maybe it was the adrenaline, that seemed the most plausible, he would check later in the day.

Then Denki and Yaoyorozu passed, Denki used the water in the air to give him a boost by pushing him while Yaoyorozu created skates to go towards the finish line.

“4.45 Seconds!”

“4.93 Seconds!”

Well that was a shocker, she was really close to Denki’s score.

They continued on like that, Yaoyorozu having the higher average in most of the tests because of her quirk while  Denki and Izuku had a bit more situational success but because of Izuku’s demigod heritage and Denki training with him, they were stronger than Iida, and beat him in some of the tests.

For example, in the standing long jump, Izuku managed a pretty good score while Denki used water to propel him and did very well on the exercise, then in the repeated side steps they only did well because they spent their lives training to survive, unlike Iida, who was too stiff to do his best, upper body training was mostly the same, in the grip strength test, all of them did pretty well, Yaoyorozu literally making some tool Izuku couldn’t recognize for that test, what stood out most was the ball throw.

Iida went first, using his engines to give his kick a boost for the ball, landing a decent score, Yaoyorozu made a dam cannon and Denki used the water to boost his throw, both of them getting a good score.

Then it was Izuku’s turn, he had a similar idea to Iida’s but instead threw the ball with his maximum speed, giving it a significant boost as it was thrown with both superhuman strength and speed, reaching a pretty good score himself, he grinned widely, patting Denki’s back once he got off.

At the end, they were only missing the endurance run, but since that one was run with all of the class, they waited for them to finish their own tests.

Izuku was joking with Denki when they were approached by Yaoyorozu, she seemed nervous for some reason.

“Do you need anything?” asked Denki with a smile.

She smiled back “Yeah, well, I wanted to ask if you knew someone by the name of Percy?”

They froze.

Izuku sputtered “Come again?”

Yaoyorozu sighed “My mom told me to look for some guy called Percy for better survival training” she explained with a slightly blushed face, and something clicked inside Izuku’s mind.

“Athena” he blurted out before he could stop himself, when he realized he did, he blushed real bad and covered his face “Sorry.”

Denki was full on laughing as Yaoyorozu chuckled “It’s no worries” she tried to appease his flustered strawberry self.

Denki wiped a tear from his face as he finished laughing “I’ll pass you Percy’s contact info by the end of the day” he said with an easygoing smile.

She smiled back at him gratefully “I appreciate it, thanks!” she said before Aizawa-sensei called them to start the endurance run.

once Aizawa called start, everyone started running, Some sliding, Yaoyorozu biking, others using their quirks to propel each other, pretty much only Invisigirl Iida, Earphone girl, tentacle boy, grape guy, tail man, sugar guy, redhead guy, Shinso, and Izuku were running, which just now he realized was more than half, oh well.

20 minutes in and most people had given up, mostly quirk exhaustion or normal exhaustion hitting them hard because of using them in the other tests, only Shinso, Izuku, Yaoyorozu, Denki, and Todoroki were left.

Todoroki had soon left as well because his quirk was giving him frostbite, and for some reason it only covered half of his body, he’d ask Natsuo about that later in the day, but right now, he was concentrated on winning, the last four people were used to running for their lives for sometimes hours, so they didn’t have issue with it.

1 hour passed before Aizawa called off the exercise, “Stop! You’ve done more than enough, go take a rest”

They nodded and walked off, chatting among themselves, Izuku congratulating Shinso on his run “You told us you normally just charm monsters, didn’t know you could run!” he said with a chuckle.

He rolled his eyes “Yeah well, sometimes there’s a little issue with the whole charm things and monsters don’t fall for it, and I gotta run!”

Him, Shinso, and Denki all laughed, a chuckle also escaping Yaoyorozu as they reunited with the rest of the class, and started to murmur between themselves as Aizawa walked up to the podium.

“These are your results for the test, keep them in mind to know where to improve on” he called out as a hologram appeared before them.

Izuku searched for his name, finding it near the top “Nice!” he said with a smile, knowing he did great, before looking at the bottom of the list, it was the invisigirl from before.

Apparently her tears were visible because she was bawling, and Izuku felt a pang of sympathy for her, (before he knew about his heritage) he went through similar situations and he knew how horrible it must be, sure, Aizawa wasn’t going to expel anyone, but it still felt bad.

Aizawa smirked “I was just kidding, no one is getting expelled today, go back to your classroom”

Everyone but the previously mentioned people who saw it froze, the invisible girl crying again, this time of joy, and Izuku felt happy for her.

.

.

.

In the classroom, Izuku talked with Shinso and Yaoyorozu some more, finding out some stuff about her, she was scared of spiders, had a knack for making stuff, and had a teeny tiny crush on Todoroki, or peppermint boy, apparently they met at an event only rich people went to and became fast friends.

But she ended up falling in love with him and didn’t know what to do, thankfully, the demigod of beauty was there to help, except he had absolutely no idea, to woo someone you had to know them, that was all he said before he walked off, leaving two very confused teenagers.

“Don’t worry about him” apologized Izuku with a chuckle as they walked outside, before remembering something

“Oh right! what’s your number?”

While he walked home, he was pleasantly surprised to find that Yaomomo (she asked to be called that) didn’t remember his horribly embarrassing meeting speech back when they were five years old.

the sun was shining down on him when he heard a bark coming from a nearby alleyway, and cursed, now was not the time for Hellhounds, but there was nothing he could do right now, so he sighed and turned his ring into his trusted sword and walked into the alley, ending up face to face with… Percy?? And a Hellhound? And he was petting the hellhound?

“What the fuck?” he muttered in shock, Percy and the hellhound turning to look at him, Izuku tensed, readying his sword.

Percy noticed this and waved his hands quickly “Wait don’t! She’s domesticated!”

Izuku blinked “...Domesticated?” He said confused, but now that he focused, the hellhound had literally been wearing a collar, which read ‘Mrs O’Leary’ and she was wagging her tail excitedly once she noticed him.

Percy quickly nodded “Yup! Daedalus domesticated her and then left her to me when he died!” He said with a smile as Mrs O’Leary passed her ginormous tongue all over Percy, leaving him slobbered in saliva.

He gagged “Gross” he said putting his sword back, if Percy trusted the dog, then he could trust her as well, because the man was paranoid , sure he didn’t seem like it but he genuinely was paranoid, if he remembered correctly was because of betrayals and having fought in two wars, hell he was wary of everyone, the only reason he trusted Izuku, Denki, and Natsuo so quickly was because they were small children or had a non-threatening vibe (Natsuo), The rest had to somehow prove their worth and loyalty that they wouldn’t try to kill each other, and it was hellish for Shinso and Uraraka, even more so for Katsuki cuz he acted like an asshole when they met.

He feared for Momo now.

Percy chuckled “Don’t worry about it, I’m used to it” he said and with a snap of his fingers the saliva disappeared from his clothes and body.

Izuku sighed, he’d never get used to that, but there was another thing he needed to say “So… she’s a pet? Kind of?” He tried to get a clarification.

Percy nodded “Pretty much.”

Izuku hummed, warily walking over to her, using his ankle wings to fly over and pat her on the head “she’s nice” he smiled.

.

.

.

Shota froze, staring at the glaring gaze of Nemuri in front of him “Heard you were sleeping in the vents” she said.

He looked around the room for an exit “I have no idea what you’re talking about” he said, drinking a mug of coffee, desperately wishing for his capture weapon, too bad Maijima had taken it and was doing god knows what with it.

She frowned “You know your punishments! No sleeping bag, no sleeping on the job, and whatever it is Maijima is planning with your hero costume and support items, however, it seems you decided to break one of those, so I’ve decided on a new punishment!”

He shivered “It’s not necessary, really-”

“Makeover!”

He was fucked.

Chapter 10: Hero Class PT1

Summary:

Part 1 of the hero class!

Notes:

HELLOOOO SORRY FOR LEAVING THIS DEAD FOR LIKE- MORE THAN THREE MONTHS AT LEAST :P I've been having a lot of academic stress and issues with motivation for this specific fanfic, even tried rewriting it, but I'm back! Idk for how long exactly for I'm back! :D

Chapter Text

Izuku had been irritated throughout the day, why? You might ask.

It was quite simple

First, Aizawa-sensei was nowhere to be found, seriously, like he didn’t even come to school, hearing Iida criticize him was giving him a headache, saying stuff about how missing the second day of school was unbecoming of a pro hero who was part of such a prestigious academy and some other annoying stuff that only stopped when Katsuki finally yelled.

Second, both Midnight-sensei and Maijima seemed happy, way too happy, and not in a good way, it was the same look Izuku himself had whenever he successfully pulled off a heist on people’s personal belongings.

And third, their hero costumes were nowhere to be found, they didn’t even know what they looked like! It was so annoying that it had Izuku close to punching a window and jumping through it, even worse was that the anticipation was killing him, and it was not helping his, or Shinso’s, or Yaomomo’s ADHD, and they were all seen itching to move, fidgeting, and more.

And to keep his facade of a quirk going, along with them too, they had to stick to what had been registered, so Izuku couldn’t just let his ankle-wings out and move them instead of drumming his fingers on the table or humming, Shinso couldn’t tinker with his appearance either (something they recently found out he could do, and he took it like a fish to water, it seemed that, being some of the first children of the gods in 200 years, they were raining down demigod powers on them.) and Yaomomo couldn’t create a bunch of random stuff from threads without heads turning.

In other words, they were restless, and Izuku seriously envied Denki who had a less severe case of ADHD and anyone else who wasn’t dying to get on the move.

Thankfully, they would soon have their first heroics class, and Izuku couldn’t wait.

But first came lunch.

Izuku was munching down on his Katsudon, talking with Denki about some of their schoolwork when the rest of their friend group joined.

Shinso gulped down his food, somehow making it look graceful even when he ate like a pig “So, does anyone have any ideas about how the heroics class might go?”

Izuku didn’t, but it seemed Yaomomo and Uraraka did, as they quickly began theorizing, soon dragging everyone else into the conversation.

“I’m telling you, the class will involve fighting,” said Uraraka confidently.

“But it doesn’t make sense” countered Momo, “We need to learn the basics first! Sure like- we know how to fight, but there’s three fourths of the class that don’t!”

She was fighting a losing battle and she knew it, she was the only one who thought logically in that way, Uraraka was literally a seer, Bakugo was a child of a war demigod, not strategy, Denki was an adopted legacy of the unrestrainable sea, Shinso was the child of something as unpredictable as love, and Izuku was well- Izuku.

They were all used to learning on the fly, even if Percy taught them the basics first.

“But still, what Yaomomo said makes a bit of sense” said Shinso “Uraraka probably saw a fight in her dreams, obviously, but that doesn’t mean that the class is centered around that, right?” he suggested.

Izuku and Denki hummed “Makes sense” they both said at the same time, before realizing they both said it at the same time, and turning to stare at the other, before breaking into a wide grin and giving each other a high five.

Everyone stared at them with unimpressed expressions.

.

.

.

Izuku was literally shaking in his seat as he waited excitedly for the heroics teacher to come into the classroom, he didn’t know who it was, but if they were a teacher, they needed to be super cool right? Sure, he wasn’t as crazy about heroes as he was when he was six, but still, he was a huge fan!

He noticed the palpable excitement in the air as everyone impatiently waited for the teacher to come in.

He decided to ignore when Jirou, a purple-headed girl’s eyes widened, if she knew already, it would make the whole thing feel less cool if he knew who was coming in as well after all.

The surprise was broken when he heard thunderous footsteps echo through the hall, and everyone turned to look at the door with a bated breath.

”I AM HERE… COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!”

He was not coming in like a normal person, as he was standing diagonally, but Izuku could care less about that, it was ALL MIGHT who would be teaching them.

Izuku and everyone else cheered when All Might walked in, he stopped in the front of the classroom, and everyone quieted down, even the most hyperactive of them.

“HELLO CLASS! I WILL BE YOUR HEROICS TEACHER FROM NOW ON!” He said with a bright blinding smile that almost rivaled Natsuo’s, almost.

Izuku listened intently as All Might explained the objective of the class, mock battles.

Izuku snickered when he saw Uraraka wiggling her eyebrows at Momo with a smug smile on her face.

He quickly quieted down when All Might’s eyes landed on him, and he sat up straighter, trying hard to keep a straight face, Shinso and Katsuki were also trying hard to keep a straight face to not laugh at him, and he glared at both, Izuku and Denki had mastered the wolf-like glare Percy used, leading to both Shinso and Katsuki flinching and looking away.

All Might cleared his throat ”BUT FIRST! HERO COSTUMES!”.

He pressed on a button from a remote that Izuku instantly assumed he pulled out of his ass because he did not have pockets in that costume, Izuku would know, he studied that specific costume when he was ten.

In the back of the classroom, numbered cabinets popped out of the wall, and everyone raced to grab their own including Izuku, who used his speed to barrel through his classmates and grab his own, before running out of the room vaguely hearing All Might explain to meet him in ground Beta before some exclamations came from his classmates and glass breaking.

As long as they weren’t hurt he didn’t care honestly.

He entered the locker room and quickly took off his uniform, opening his box, and seeing the clothes inside.

On top of the outfit were a pair of greek sandals and something wrapped with a note in ancient Greek saying to be opened last.

Percy obeyed and picked up the rest of the stuff.

He would’ve thought they were blankets if not for being told by Percy about Ancient Greek clothing.

He was holding in his hand a black chlamys with gold accents.

.

.

.

The second more people came in, he dashed into one of the private rooms, and he was sure some other demigods did too, because fighting monsters most of your life leads to a bunch of scars, even if he isn’t ashamed of them.

He didn’t want to get drowned in questions about them.

It was awkward.

The second he’d put on the two chlamys that were inside the box (after finding a set of instructions), they had changed size to fit him after he realized they were too big, one was orange, and the other one was the black one, they hung off his shoulder, leaving part of his chest exposed.

He put the greek sandals on, the straps seemed to reach up to his knee. He pointedly ignored the blatantly empty space by his ankles.

Finally, he turned towards the package, opening it up and seeing a scarf that was very long, it had an orange-red color that resembled fire somehow, as well as a golden laurel wreath and some other details like armbands of the same color, and an arm guard.

He quickly put them on, and he turned towards the mirror.

Aside from having no wings on his head or feet, a caduceus, or a huge bag, It reminded Izuku of that version of his father in that pre-quirk videogame, it was called Hades II? Maybe.

Eh.

After testing out their sturdiness with his sword, he left the changing room, seeing that a bunch of people had left already.

Did I take that long putting on the chlamys?

He cursed silently and dashed out of the changing rooms and towards ground Beta.

When he got there, there were about ten people there.

I really need to put on this thing faster…

He looked around, searching for his friends, but the only one he saw was Denki wearing a-

“Is that a camp half-blood T-shirt?” he said incredulously as he walked over to him, a huge smile on his face. “Percy never lets us touch them!” His eyes were basically sparkling.

Denki beamed right back “I know right!?” He said as sparks shot off his hair.

Denki was wearing shorts, an orange camp half-blood T-shirt, and a sheath for his dagger on his hips. “Also, guess what!? Percy gave me this!” He brought up a… hat?

“Why do you have a Yankees cap?” he said, confused.

“Dude, this belonged to Percy’s girlfriend!” he replied, annoyed, showing its wear and tear.

“Wait- you mean Annabeth!? The Annabeth!?” He was confuzzled, flabbergasted, perplexed, and quite possibly bamboozled.

Denki nodded so quickly his head might have just fallen off right there and then.

He just saw Momo, Katsuki, Shinso, and Uraraka come in when All Might began yelling, so he couldn’t appreciate their hero outfits.

”THEY SAY THE OUTFIT MAKES THE HERO, AND SEEING ALL OF YOU I COMPLETELY AGREE!!” yelled out All Might with his typical smile and booming voice.

A heavily armored hand came up and Iida began talking while chopping his arm in the air “Sir! We were in this same type of city simulation in the entrance exam! Will we do mock urban battles again?” he said, and Izuku seriously had to wonder if Iida knew All Might from earlier or something because how was he so unfazed by ALL MIGHT.

All Might just laughed “NOT QUITE KIDDO! SEE, THE MOST NEFARIOUS AND SMARTEST OF VILLAINS HAVE THEIR FIGHTS INDOORS! BACKSTREET DEALS, HOSTAGE SITUATIONS, ETCETERA! FIGHTS ACTUALLY OCCUR INDOORS, AND THAT’S WHAT WE’LL BE DOING TODAY! EVERYONE WILL BE DIVIDED IN GROUPS OF TWO AND YOU’LL SPAR EACH OTHER IN ONE OF THESE BUILDINGS WITH SIMULATED SCENARIOS!”

Izuku sighed disappointedly, he wasn’t good in small spaces, his whole thing was speed! Enclosed spaces were basically the bane of his powers!

Momo raised her hand and said “Will we choose our teammates?” She asked and Izuku took in her hero outfit. She was wearing a sleeveless red crop top from some material he couldn’t see from such a distance and beige shorts, as well as a… watch? And black boots.

The exposed skin was most definitely for her power to work, that much he knew, but for how smart he was, Athena's children were in another league and he’d never understand how they work.

All Might answered “NO YOU WON’T! YOUR TEAMS WILL BE CHOSEN RANDOMLY BY DRAWING LOTS”

Iida raised his rigid hand up again, “Sensei! Isn’t that counterintuitive? We would do best if we were able to decide who we are working with!”

Katsuki decided to be the one to speak, which surprised Izuku, he expected him to be in a similar page to Iida (though maybe Katsuki was just interested in whatever Iida didn’t like) “Because in real life we don’t get to choose who we are partnered with, rather it’s done with whoever is closest.”

Thinking back to the sludge villain incident, Izuku realized what Katsuki was talking about, the heroes there hadn’t been great matchups for each other or the villain due to their skills, and it had almost led to Katsuki’s death.

It made sense.

All Might laughed boisterously, his smile showing a hint of relief in it, something both Shinso and him noticed, due to both of their parents being really great at social cues. ”EXACTLY YOUNG BAKUGO! NOW THEN, LET US DRAW LOTS TO SEE WHAT TEAM YOU’LL BE IN”

Izuku immediately sent a prayer to Tyche that he’d be in the same team as either Denki or Shinso since they worked best together (Bakugo’s fighting style was too aggressive and relied on overwhelming force, something Izuku didn’t have, he wasn’t at all familiar with Ochako’s fighting style of hand to hand, and if he and Yaomomo were together they’d spend most of their time planning and forget they had a time limit.)

He promised to give her offerings in his next meal after seeing both him and Denki were in team B.

“Let’s go!” They high fived.

Then he turned to look at the screen mentioned the teams and he paled.
