Work Text:
The icy wind tears across your face as you huddle closer to your companion. They bow into your body, against the storm that threatens to send you both toppling dangerously into the snow, where your weakened limbs may not be enough to lift you again. Ice frays their long, beautiful scarf, and yours has long since frozen and shattered around you.
A distant rumble has you searching for a predator’s light, but the monsters don’t see you.
You climb, but you do not go alone.
Your companion sings, and you chirp back in whisper-soft notes until your voice freezes, too.
