Chapter Text
“Okay, and that should last us at least a few days” The woman whispered in a panicked tone as though she were trying to use her voice to make sure everything would be okay.
“Now for Korra” She whispered as she opened the door to the room of a little girl who could be no older than 5, soundly sleeping.
“Korra, it’s time to get up” The mother said softly as she was running her hand over her daughter’s cheek with a clear affection.
“No, I don’t wanna bend right now” The girl said as if she were expecting something bad was going to happen.
“Well, then if you don’t wanna bend, that’s fine by me” The mother said quietly causing the girl to almost jump up out of her bed.
“REALLY!” the girl said loudly wondering if what she was hearing was real.
“Yes, just try to make sure you’re really quiet, okay my little otter penguin” The mother said.
“Now what” The girl sort of loudly whispered.
“Well, I know you don’t exactly like those white lotus people, so how about I take you to a place where they can never find us” The mother whispered, trying to prepare her daughter for the massive shift her life was about to take.
“Wow… I can’t wait” The girl said as she seemingly dashed out of her room and into the living area waiting for her mother to catch up.
Yet, as the mother caught up and was just finished getting herself and her daughter properly clothed and prepared for the journey that lay ahead of them, someone else had just gotten out of bed after hearing some of the commotion.
“Senna, what are you and Korra doing at this time of night?” The man said curiously, while Senna began to get nervous at what complications this may result in.
“We’re going to a place where those mean white lotus people will never be able to get us” Korra said excitedly after running up to her father, all the while her mother ran up, getting between the man and her daughter, while scooping the daughter up into her arms.
“Okay Korra, there’s one more thing I forgot to tell you, when we leave home I want you to close your eyes and hold yourself close to me, regardless of what you might hear, until I say so, are you okay with that?” Senna said quickly after getting Korra in her arms, to which Korra speedily agreed with her as she began to cling closely to her mother.
“Why are you doing this?” The man asked like it was almost a rhetorical question.
“...” Senna replied as she was headed for the door out of the house.
“We can work something out with them” The man replied in desperation as that got the woman to stop right before opening the door.
“Work out WHAT with them!” Senna replied with a level of vitriol that she hadn’t expressed in a long time.
“What they want is a weapon, they don’t see a child, a girl, or even a person, just a weapon, that will make sure things can never change and let them justify why they can do whatever they want!” Senna said, only seeming to get angrier the longer she went on.
“I’m going to make sure that they never get their weapon and that our con gai will be able to live her own life with the freedom to make her own choices, so if you have to ask what I have to work out with them, then you don’t have a right to call yourself Korra’s Aata” Senna said with incredible emotion, as she left the man stunned with her proclamation.
“I really wanted you to come with us, but I figured you didn’t have the guts to disobey the white lotus, and it turns out I was right” Senna said in a calmer, but somehow even sterner tone than before.
“Please,,,” The man pleaded.
“Maybe if you had more guts, you could still be Tonraq the water chief” Senna said, with a particular venom in her words.
“....” A few brief seconds of silence pass between Tonraq, Senna, and Korra.
“Even if you somehow escape the dozens of white lotus guards and other benders, what will you do then?” Tonraq said, seeming to barely be able to get the words out.
“You’ll have to live your life on the run, being unable to stay in a single place for too long and unsure of where your next meal would be from, is this the life you want for our con gai” Tonraq said in the most lost tone of voice he could seemingly muster.
“Better than a life in chains, serving those who don’t give a sealshit” Senna said, finally ready to leave and get out of this place.
“Maybe I…” Tonraq was cut off.
“BAAM” An explosion could be heard right outside their residence, where just then, Senna with Korra in hand, immediately exited the door and began running like her life depended on it.
As she was running away from her home and into the darkness of the tundra, she could make out three different figures seemingly taking out the dozens of lotus guards, yet as she drew closer to them and felt that escape was soon inevitable, out of nowhere *FWOOSH* a man seemed to appear in front of Senna with the force of the wind itself. It quickly dawned on her who this man was with his arrow tattoo and orange attire.
“What are you doing out here, we have to get the Avatar back inside to make sure she is safe” The man in orange said in a somewhat loud and very concerned manner.
But, before he could even think about what to say next, a ball of snow seemed to surround his head and just as he was about to respond, it shifted into ice making him unable to breath, whereafter Senna just kept running.
As she proceeded forward, the three figures in the distance seemingly causing this ruckus became clearer, on the right was an extremely tall woman who seemingly had a third eye and was thrusting her head forward where soon after an explosion would occur, in the center seemed to be another woman with the same complexion as herself, while also possessing arms that seemed to be made of water with how they moved and whipped at the opponents around her, and on the left was a man who was dressed in gray and didn’t seem to bend any element, but was fighting those around them using his acrobatic capabilities and pinpoint precision.
While to anybody else these people seemed like a kind of super terrorist, to Senna it meant giving her daughter a chance at maybe not a normal life, but a chance to be free and to choose her own path, but to her it also meant…
“So, how are the husband and daughter doing these days, Sen” The woman with water arms said sarcastically, just after Senna was able to get behind the group.
A reunion with an old group of friends.
“You and lavaboy still walking circles around each other, instead of admitting your feelings” Senna said with an old yet somehow newfound confidence.
“Actually no, not anymore,” The water armed woman named Ming-Hua said with pride in her voice.
“Check your flanks, I think more are coming” The man in gray said after just having taken down another guard.
And there were certainly more coming as not only could about 40 or so people in the white lotus attire be made out, quickly approaching their position from all directions, but several other people seemingly on the white lotus’ side were approaching as well.
Coming from the left, there was an older man dressed in blue, who seemingly possessed a boomerang around his waist, on the right was a man covered in graying facial hair while dressing in red with nasty scaring over his left eye, and coming from the center was the newly freed man in orange along with Senna’s husband.
So, in the midst of this chaos the third-eyed woman tries to aim for the man in blue, yet if she were to pay a bit more attention she would have noticed that the man was no longer holding a boomerang.
“GLNK” Just as Senna was ready to keep moving forward and get out of the South Pole, she heard a massive clunking sound to her right and realized that the woman in red had been hit in the center of her third eye and was more than likely stunned for the time being.
Just then, on her right she noticed that the man in gray had been surrounded and while his acrobatic abilities may have saved him in most cases, after being surrounded by what amounted to about ten white lotus agents who seemed to be waterbenders and the scarred man who seemed to be a firebender, the odds weren’t looking good as by the second the number of close calls the man in gray had made were increasing exponentially. Meaning it probably wouldn’t be long before he would be captured.
“Senna stop this, I promise that we will work something out with the white lotus and that our daughter won’t just become their weapon” Tonraq shouted as he was trying to make sure that Senna could still hear him, even from the considerable distance between them.
“I promise, whatever you think I won’t let anyone hurt the Avatar” The man in orange shouted as well, unaware of the mistake he had just made.
“Her name is KORRA!” Senna shouted, finally reaching her breaking point.
“She’s her own person, how can you claim to want to protect her, if you don’t even know who she is!” Senna said with more determination and rage than even she thought she could possess.
“And if even now you can’t realize that, then why in the name of the spirits should I ever let her near you or any of the white lotus” Senna said finally getting a little of her rage out after verbally letting loose.
Just then, it seemed the group of old friends had finally met their match as when Senna looked around her to see how everybody was doing, she noticed that the third eyed woman was now completely encased in ice all the way from her neck down, with a layer of metal surrounding her forehead in order to cover said third eye, all the while the man in gray had finally made one mistake too many as he as well was seemingly encased in ice from the neck down, finally Ming-Hua was fighting the man in blue with several white lotus members and while it seemed like an even sided fight, she could tell that the balance was tipping to the man’s favor.
“Let's hope I'm not too rusty with this technique” Senna thought with a tone of desperation in her mind.
“Look Senna, I think that we….” The man in orange was stopped in his tracks as he was violently interrupted.
Just then all of the people that Senna and her allies were fighting just stopped, as their bodies began to violently convulse as though they were trying to take back a body that was no longer under their own control.
“But, it's not even a full…” The man in blue was thinking before he had to focus all his thoughts on a futile attempt to regain control.
“Despite what your thinking, I really didn’t want to fight you, I really didn’t” Senna said toward Tonraq in a somber mood and seemingly being the cause for the sudden stillness despite not seemingly making any movement to do so, in the meantime Ming-Hua was able to free both the man in gray and the third eyed woman, where they then proceeded to take out as many remaining white lotus members as they could, through whatever means they deemed necessary.
“We probably won’t see each other again… and for that I really am sorry, I wanted you to come along, I really did, but right now Korra is the thing that matters most” Senna said, seemingly holding back tears and feeling Korra holding her even tighter than before
“I will always be thankful for the years we spent together and that you gave me Korra, but for her sake I have to go,” Senna said, after having turned away from Tonraq and beginning to run toward her allies' location, while hearing a soft cry from the little girl in her arms.
Senna’s plan seemed to be going accordingly and she was about to reach the rest of her friends, in the rush to get towards them however, she forgot to check her surroundings and a white lotus guard who was laid down and seemingly dead or at least knocked out, got up, and then shot a fireball right at her back.
Now this attack wasn’t exactly successful, as Senna was able to use snow to block the fireball and Ming-Hua then proceeded to easily take him out, but it had succeeded in breaking her focus, meaning that all those still stuck in place due to her bloodbending were able to break free and once again fight back.
“It’s best we get out of here now, before they can strike back” The man in gray named Zaheer shouted in order to make sure everyone could hear. Meanwhile every single group was rushing toward Senna, either to protect her and Korra or to steal the Avatar.
Just as Senna, Korra, Ming-Hua, Zaheer and the third-eyed woman known as P’Li were gathering together and preparing to leave, all of a sudden a stream of fire came roaring towards them, but Ming-Hua was able to block it with her water arms and P’Li used her combustionbending to strike right at the man in red’s face, to which the man in orange used his airbending to trigger the explosion before it could reach its intended target, however this resulted in both the man in orange and the man in red falling over and stumbling back a few feet.
“Don’t worry little otter penguin, this is an old friend of mine, you’ll be just fine” Senna said to Korra as she handed her over to Zaheer for the time being.
Just as the attack before was happening, Senna and Ming-Hua waterbent the snow around them to create an ice platform where they all proceeded to get on.
All while they were trying to get on, P’Li ended up being the one to take care of the remaining targets, including aiming straight for the head of the man in orange, which was about to succeed as he had barely gotten up from when he had been pushed over previously, yet just as the explosive blast was about to reach his face, out of nowhere a boomerang got between him and the attack, which should have resulted in a close and painful, but still survivable blast, however unbeknown to them P’Li proceeded to curve the blast out of the way of the man in orange and the boomerang to directly hit the man in blue, aiming at the same spot that he had struck P’Li in.
Before the man in orange could even decipher all that had just happened in front of him, he next heard a *KABOOM* and proceeded to look to his right where the man in blue used to be, a fuzzy boot, piece of blue cloth, and a small red trail was leading to a vaguely human shaped outline in the snow, except the head part didn’t seem to be exactly right.
“SOKKA!” the man in orange shouted at where the man in blue used to be, with a level of emotion that didn’t seem to be possible for him to possess before and finally giving a name to this man in blue.
After this brutal attack and the fact that all members were secured on the platform, both Senna and Ming-Hua using the motion of the arms accelerated the platform at a rapid pace, resulting in the residue of that battle being mere blurs in the wind in just several seconds.
= A few more seconds of silence pass as everyone calms down =
“Has Unalaq been taken care of” Senna asked as she directed the question toward Zaheer.
“Yes, we dealt with him before we came down and we went through his belongings to gather everything he knew on the spirits and harmonic convergence” Zaheer stated in a very matter of fact manner.
“Good, and you have a plan to get us out of the South Pole, right?” Senna asked again as while she had talked with them about some of the details of the escape plan through hidden messages, she was unable to discuss every single aspect of it, before the planned escape night, and was merely guiding the ice platform along by just giving the direction Ming-Hua was pulling it in some more power.
“Don’t worry Ghazan is taking care of it” Zaheer said in a very confident manner.
Afterward everyone stays quiet as Senna and Ming-Hua get them to their destination, which after having to make several twists and turns to get anyone who may have been following off their tail, they arrived at a small alcove where there seemed to be quite a number of boats and other water-adjacent transportation, in fact it was the alcove that quite a few people used including some of the white lotus, except it seemed that with the exception of one decently sized speedboat all the others were seemingly glowing, not only that, they smelled like they were burning, until they got closer and it became clear that with the exception of the boat that they had picked out, all of the others had somehow gotten magma all over them making them unusable.
“We made sure to confuse them into thinking that we had taken one of the more hidden access points, before circling back around” Zaheer said in a very confident tone of voice while handing Korra back over to Senna.
“Hiding in plain sight, eh” Ming-Hua said to Senna in her usual abrasive way while they were all headed toward their chosen boat.
“Well, I guess that’s just the value of an Earthbender at the Poles” Senna said to no one in particular.
“Ha! How well do you think you could do in a desert then?” Said by a man who happened to have a black goatee, dressed in green, and seemed possessed tattoos over his arms, likely being the one who was earlier referenced as Ghazan.
“Long time no see, that’s goes for all of you” Senna said with a delight in her voice as they all finally were entering the boat, ready to head off for shores anew.
Just then as they got on the boat, Senna was able to make out a figure, who also seemed to be dressed in gray and seemed to be only a couple years older than Korra herself, while peeking out of the corner where the driver’s area was.
“So I guess your name is Zahra, your parents told me alot about you” Senna said as it was directed at the new little girl found on the boat.
“Yeah.. my name is Zahra and I’m 4 years old” The little girl said with a slight quivering in her voice.
“I didn’t want to have to bring her along to this, but after having dealt with Unalaq we had to rush to make it to the South Pole in time, so we didn’t have time to drop her off” Zaheer said, directed toward Senna with a seeming shame in his voice.
Just then, the engine of the boat roared to life and they quickly started to exit the alcove, with a bit of a boost given to the boat by both Ming-Hua and Senna.
After having traveled out enough to make sure they weren’t being followed, they began to speak in earnest.
“Currently our destination is the Foggy Swamp, as it would be a great place to both begin Korra’s waterbending training as well as understand her spiritual connections while staying hidden in the thick brush” Zaheer said, just as Senna noticed that Korra’s grip began to tighten after he had finished.
“I know you’re probably worried, my little otter penguin, but these are all people I have known for a long time and I promise they won’t treat you like those white lotus people” Senna said with a very caring tone for her disconcerted daughter.
“Really, but they want to train me as the…” Korra said with seeming tears about to break through her eyes.
“Sure they do, but I know that you still want to bend and I promise that they will take your limits and your needs into their mind, before the Avatar’s” Senna said, making sure her daughter was as comfortable as possible.
“Thanks, but…” Korra said finally letting the tears break through.
“Will we really never see Aata again?” Korra asked with the most concern she had ever shown.
Senna, after a moment of silence and some deliberation, finally decided to say.
“Korra, your Aata was a good man and an even better father, but… there are things that not even he thought that he could fight and the white lotus was one of them. I would have taken him with us if I could, I really wanted to, but you come first to me and that means that you live a life that you choose and if I brought Aata with us, I wouldn’t be able to guarantee that for you…” Senna said as she trailed off towards the end and ended up joining Korra in letting her tears free.
Korra then proceeded to take her arms and give her mom the biggest hug she could as they both began to softly cry over what had been lost that night, while riding into the great unknown.

Feedback is appreciated
Currently thinking up quite a few different ideas for what to do with this, especially characters, so if you have any ideas, leave a comment, though that isn’t a guarantee that it will end up being used, most notably I’m not sure what level of power I want Korra at once my equivalent of season 1 will start like should I give metal or lava or both and how strong should her bloodbending be, as I am going to give her that, but how strong it will be is the question.
Similarly, I was wondering what age Korra should be once my season 1 starts, as if I go with giving her all the bending abilities, should I make her a bit older like she was during any of the other books or is just her being at full potential at 17, minus airbending, good with y’all
Endgame romance for Korra is also up in the air at the moment
Updates are whenever I am able to get the next chapter finished
Thank you for taking the time to read this little story, it’s appreciated
Chapter Text
123 AG, a mostly unremarkable year after the end of the Hundred Year War, as Republic City kept getting built up and technology was continuing to advance, but it was also the year that Senna was born.
Even from a young age she was an precocious and rebellious child, bending snow for snowball fights, trying to see if she could waterbend to get a drink without even getting up, and even once trying to ride a polar bear dog when she couldn’t find any otter penguins around.
She was also a very talented waterbender, being able to fight the waterbending masters on equal footing by the time she was 12, though she was only ever able to get the basics of healing, not for lack of trying, she did want to learn it, as she thought it would be quite useful, but it was just something that she couldn’t get very well.
But that was fine by her, all that meant is that she just had to refine her already existing bending abilities to their best possible state, but one day at around age 14, when she was near the coast around noon, practicing her water and ice shifting, off to the side she heard some soft rapid steps, then a tumble and afterward a loud cry.
“Hopefully they aren’t too injured to be carried” Senna thought with a clear concern coursing through her mind as she was rushing toward the source of the cry, concerned as anybody who lived in either the North or South Pole could tell you just how quickly the tundra would kill you if given even the smallest chance.
Just as the child that seemed to have broken their leg was in view, she noticed something even more concerning.
“Spirit damn this tundra” Senna seemed to think as she realized an arctic hippo was rapidly approaching the boy with a pace meaning that she would not be able to catch up in time.
“If I can use the snow under its feet to encase it in ice, I may have enough time to get the boy out of there” Senna thought as she directed her hands towards the hippo with her only focus being to stop it now.
But just as she was focusing her hands at the hippo, something happened… the hippo stopped dead in its tracks except, its reaction was that of extreme panic as it had seemed to realize before anyone else that its body was on longer in its control.
“But.. I thought they were only myths” Senna thought, having her hand still raised out and the boy looking at the hippo with a certain amount of surprise.
“Maybe it's just a…” Senna desperately thought, having had them interrupted, as during her line of thinking, she had raised her hand, only to realize that as her hand was raised up, so was the hippo, now with an even bigger panic plastered on its face.
She then suddenly pulled back her hand, shocked at this unnatural power, while the hippo was essentially dropped back onto the ice, only to get up and run as far away from Senna as possible.
Afterward she ended up carrying the boy and found his parents nearby as they had wanted to take him on a hunting trip to learn the ways of the Water Tribe huntsmen.
For the next few days, she began contemplating what to do next, should she train this power, should she tell other people about this, or should she just never try to use it again?
After much deliberation she decided that she would train her new bloodbending abilities, but she made sure to go into more barren areas to train, preferably during the night, and never to kill any living being with this power.
A few months of training later, and the results are beginning to show, she went from just learning that she is capable to being able to fully control the body of any living thing she wanted, with the maximum being about 20 adult weasel rabbits.
But during these past few months, she started to wonder where had she gotten this power, as no other waterbender that she heard about was able to do it at will like she could and they always had to use their full body in order to fully use bloodbending techniques, whereas she had just begun training to use bloodbending with minimal to zero movement.
However, this started to bring up some uncomfortable memories and concerning questions, like who was her dad, she had seen other kids play with both their parents around, but all she had was her ma and Geema and while her Geema had occasionally talked about her husband and how he passed away during the hundred year war, her own mother was much more closed-off and always tried to steer away from the topic when it was brought up, though throughout the years, she was able to slowly get some information out of her, like she moved to Republic City when she was a teenager, she moved back to the North Pole after realizing she was pregnant, her father lived in Republic City, her father was a waterbender, and much later that Nessa herself was the result of a one night stand and that her father was a very dangerous man that her mother didn’t want either of them involved with.
But even with the little information she had gotten from her mother, she had been able to figure out with some degree of likelihood who it was and where her abilities came from, as after looking through the Water Tribe historical center and by deciphering the myths, rumors, and gossip she had heard through the years, she had found evidence of a man bloodbending an entire courtroom of people without moving during the day, including the avatar himself, at his own trial back in 128 AG, also she started to do some more research on the nature of waterbending trying to look for some answers on how either that man or she herself were able to bloodbend anytime and anyway, she certainly found something interesting as there were scattered reports of what seemed to be a red moon in the sky, otherwise known as a blood moon around 85 AG, which could have been when that crime boss was born, and if something as simple as a solstice could affect the birth of firebenders, then there was no reason to believe that this couldn’t do the same thing.
After learning something about where she likely came from, Senna decided to not just continue training, but to train for even longer and harder in order to truly be able to master her abilities.
So while her bending life may have been doing pretty well, her family life had…
“So now, you just want to trap me up here forever,” Senna said, almost screaming at her target.
“No, all I want to do is make sure that you’ll be safe” Senna’s mother, otherwise known as Aanir said in the same way as Senna had just talked to her.
“So you’re just gonna ship me off to the man who can pay the highest price!” Senna said, finally beginning to scream at her mother.
“All I’m trying to do is….” Aanir was cut off before her voice could even be raised.
“Yeah, so now you decide that you want me to get married, just after Geema had finally gone to rest with the spirits, when you KNOW what she would think of this” Senna shouted at her mother, trying to incite some sort of guilt in her.
“Look I know that Geema could be, quite stubborn, about certain things, but I promise, you won’t get married right now, it will just be engagement and you don’t have to get married till’ you’re 21” Aanir said trying in her desperation to calm down the disturbed spirit of a situation.
“Well, yip fuckin yip, I get 5 more years of freedom until I become some Icecicle head’s broodhare” Senna said with incredible venom in her tongue.
While arranged marriage had been a long tradition in the Northern Water Tribe, with the help of Katara and the end of the war, the power and role of women had been greatly increased in the Northern Water Tribe, but traditions are hard things to break, so it still did continue, but it was not nearly as common as it used to be, also it should be important to note that how they arranged marriages was quite different after the war, as earlier it was just about the parents meeting and deciding what would be best, where after the war and thanks to Katara, it was usually about getting the parents and the potential couple to meet and try to decide a compromise that could please all parties. But even so there were still many cries, calls, and movements to ban arranged marriages outright, which Senna’s Geema had been a vocal supporter of making sure to remind her daughter and granddaughter that “those old fools, are just scared of losing their only release valve” to which Senna always had a good chuckle and Aanir tried to temper the situation by saying that it wasn’t always true and that some did very much marry who they loved, but after her passing things only got seemed to worsen, as what appeared to be a generational debate continued to just rage on.
“Look, I promise I will not make you marry someone you don’t love, I will make sure of that, but at least try to talk to me and not scream every line that just comes to your head” Aanir said trying to calm the situation down, but more condescendingly than before
“I’m not getting married, just because when you were young, you made the decision to fuck the most dangerous crime boss in Republic City!” Senna said finally letting out her rage and seeing the shocked look on her mother’s, as at this point Aanir had figured out that her daughter was definitely focusing a lot on waterbending recently and that she had been researching something, but what exactly she wasn’t sure.
Aanir then proceeded to just turn around and walk outside, while Senna just sat down and gave herself some time to think.
After a few hours of contemplation by both women, the silence ended up being broken when Aanir entered the house, just as the sun was setting.
“Look I…” Senna said, trying to both apologize to her mother and explain why she could agree with what she was saying, until her mother interrupted.
“No, you’re right” Her mother said, in a surprising display of vulnerability.
“I should have never even considered that for you, if I just put you in the opposite of the situation I ended up in, then you’ll still get messed up like I did, just in a different way” She said with a lot of emotion in her voice.
“It was just, so hard having to raise you on your own even with Geema, as I had to work and worry about you at the same time, along with concern that someone would try to kidnap you or spirits knows what” Senna said more and more softly as some tears began to trickle out.
“Look…” Her daughter said as she got up from her seat and was approaching her mother.
“I can’t hate you, I’m not even sure if I can hate anybody, but what you were saying was still really messed up” Her daughter awkwardly said as she tried to awkwardly hug her Ma.
After a few minutes of silence passed and they had released all their pent up emotions, they sat down and began to really talk about the future.
“Look I just didn’t want you to make the same mistakes I did, alright” Her mother said in a very considerate tone.
“Alright” Her daughter said while sitting right next to her own mother
“But I have to know, was… who your father was, what you’ve been researching for all this time” Her mother asked in the most unobtrusive manner possible.
“It was,” Senna said with the volume of a lizard mouse.
“Was there anything that tipped you off or did your curiosity just get the better of you, I’m just wondering is all” Her mother said in the same way as before.
“Well…” Senna responded, not sure what to say.
“I guess I should…” Senna continued on as she told her mother about how she discovered her unique bloodbending ability while saving that little boy, including her theory as to how she got this power, who she believed her father probably was, and even her training regime.
A few more seconds pass in silent contemplation.
“Yeah, I never even got his full name, but the man you described, that’s more than likely who your biological father is” Her mother replied thinking about how her daughter had known all of this and still felt the need to keep it in.
“...” Senna replied, not really sure how to respond at this point.
“I originally left, because I wanted to forge my own destiny and make my own path, but I was too reckless and ended up only getting glimpses of what I even wanted to do” Her mother said as she was reminiscing about days gone by.
“I still wouldn’t change anything though if it meant not having you, but as parents our responsibility is to make sure that our children can have the best life we can give them, and that means making sure they now how to swim, as one day they will have to venture out to sea” Her mother said as she kept going on.
“You’re a lot like me and even your Geema before you, ya know… she also wanted to explore the world, but with how the Northern Water Tribe was at the time and with the war going on” Her mother said as she began to think of not just days, but even lives past.
“I think you should be the one to finally break the cycle” Her mother said in a now almost excited tone.
“Be what we couldn’t or were able to be, be free and know the world not as a tunafly, but as a mighty tusk whale” Her mother said, trying to summon the most inspirational quote she could think of.
“Well, if that’s what YOU want for me” Senna said, in a sarcastically happy way, glad that her mother and her could finally see through this together.
“If we start packing now, you could probably catch one of the early morning fishing boats, especially considering… ” Her mother began to say, before…
“Look that’s nice and all, but since I’m no longer part of some great escape plan, how about I spend a couple more weeks here, I could probably get more supplies and be able to give some proper goodbyes” Senna said in such a cheery way, that she had actually rhymed.
“Well, just don’t go banging the first thing that gives you attention," her mother said as they darted off to the kitchen, to make some tea before getting to bed.
- 10 days later -
“Love you con gai and BE careful!” Her mother shouted as the ship that Senna was on began to sail away.
“Don’t worry, I will” Senna said, trying to comfort her mother the best that she could hope too.
“Make sure to eat the weasel rabbit stew first, it goes bad after 3 days!" Her mother said, trying to think of as much advice as she could give her daughter while leaving.
“I’ll live” Senna said as the ship had finally gained enough distance that the voices on the shore could no longer be made out.
“Well world, let’s see what you got!” Senna thought as she was ready to have the adventure of a lifetime.

Feedback is appreciated
