Summary
Bears are the bane of Temba Wide-Arm's existence. But when she's badly injured by one bear and rescued by a second, deformed bear, she begins to wonder if the attack was punishment for how she treats people around her. Determined to turn over a new leaf, she starts trying to make amends. But her trees are still being damaged so, she keeps looking for a new mercenary. Hopefully a competent one.
Elmand Bear-Heart, self-proclaimed bear expert, takes Temba's job, pushing her far outside her comfort zone, certain that something in her past is the key to understanding why the bears are targeting her trees.
But it just might take losing everything for Temba to learn what really matters to her.
