Chapter 1: The Line Between Life And Death

Chapter Text

It was now night in dreamland. Kirby looks up to the starry skies as he walks to his home, gently smiling as he enjoys the view. It was peaceful as always, and Kirby loved that. Kirby sighs, opening the door and heading to bed after a long day, closing his eyes and slowly drifting to sleep.

As Kirby slept, his mind suddenly started to fill in with voices. He turned and shifted around the bed, scrunching his face and covering his head. He gasps awake, finding himself in a black void.

"Oh... not this again." Kirby sighed, getting up and looking around. The voices that were clouding his mind were gone now, replaced with the eerie silence with the void. The void was empty and silent. His gaze turns to his body, only seeing himself, but nothing else.

Kirby was having this dream of being inside this black void and being stuck until he woke up. He doesn't understand what is causing this. He has already checked the Fountain of Dreams, but nothing was wrong. He even asked some of his friends, but none of them had a good answer on how to fix this. He decided to go and look around, maybe finding something else.

"Hello?!" Kirby shouts, his voice echoing throughout the void. He continues to yell out loud, hoping that somebody will hear him or wake up from this horrible dream. Eventually, after a very long time of walking that felt like a whole hour, he saw a white speck in the distance. His eyes widen, his face shifting one with hope and excitement, quickly running over to it. The white speck eventually becomes larger and more recognizable.

Upon reaching a certain distance, Kirby recognizes what the white speck is. It was... "Taranza?" Kirby whispered to himself, tilting his head inconfusion as to why Taranza would be here. He shook his head off, not minding his confusion, and just ran to him in excitement. Finally, having someone to talk to while in the void.

"Taranza!!" Kirby exclaimed, hugging Taranza from behind.

"Oh!" Taranza? Exclaimed. A feminine voice spoke, Kirby immediately catched up on this, quickly jumping back. The taranza lookalike turns around, tilting her head. Kirby noticed that this version looks rather... feminine.

"Hi there! I never thought i would be seeing someone else here! What's your name?" The Taranza lookalike asked, hovering with a gentle and friendly smile on her face.

"K-Kirby! And you are...?" Kirby asked, his mouth curving into a smile as he saw the person was friendly.

"Kirby!? The Star Warrior?! Oh my, it's such an honor! I'm Joronia, the Queen of Floralia!" Joronia greeted, her eyes sparkling with joy and excitement as she grabbed Kirby's arm and started shaking it frantically, causing Kirby to go up and down. Kirby pulls away from her, putting a hand on his head as he feels dizzy, twirling his head around subconsciously before shaking his head to shake off the dizziness. Kirby was quite surprised. He didn't know this person, yet she knew him? The name "Joronia" seems unfamiliar to him.

"Queen of Floralia... Joronia? I thought Sectonia was the one ruling over Floralia?" Kirby said, tilting his head in confusion as he scratched his head. Joronia's eyes widened, thinking that the floralians had replaced her after disappearing for so long.

"Sectonia...? Is that the new queen of floralia?" Joronia asked, raising an eyebrow as she hovered closer to Kirby. Kirby seems rather a bit hesitant to answer this, considering that Sectonia is dead.

"Uh... Well..." Kirby nervously looks around until giving up. He sighs, shrugging. "Well... former queen. No one is ruling over Floralia right now." Kirby answered with a sheepish smile

"No one?!" Joronia exclaimed in fear and worry. She was getting worried as there was no one to protect the floralians. "Oh...! I gotta get back to my kingdom! Who knows what might happen to the floralians!" Joronia exclaimed, clutching her head and trying to figure out a way to get out.

Kirby quickly noticed her worry and fear. "O-oh! But don't worry! Someone by the name of 'Taranza' is taking care of them!" Kirby reassured, trying to calm Joronia down. Joronia stops panicking, sighing in relief before realizing that Taranza was the one controlling Floralia.

"Wait... You know my assistant, Taranza?" Joronia asked, surprised that Kirby and Taranza knew each other. Her worried look quickly dissapears, shifting into a warm smile

Kirby perks up, noticing that Joronia knows Taranza. "You... know him? Who's he to you?" Kirby excitedly asked, realizing that Joronia might be a potential new friend. Kirby was also a bit annoyed that Taranza never told him about this Joronia person, but that was quickly overcome by Kirby's excitement.

"Taranza is my assistant! and a friend. He helps me carry out certain tasks, run the kingdom, and give me advice on certain things. He's such a great friend, always being there whenever i needed him the most." Joronia describes Taranza in a sweet and caring way. It was obvious that Joronia cares about Taranza a lot. Even Kirby notices that. But the thought was still in Kirby's mind, "If Joronia was so special to Taranza, why did he never mention her to us?" Kirby asked, putting a hand on his chin as he thinks.

Kirby sighs, knowing he won't be able to get out anytime soon, so he thought "Hm... Maybe i should use this time to get to know her." Kirby nods at the idea, opening his eyes and looking back up to Joronia.

"Hey! Why don't we go take a walk while we talk?" Kirby asked, giving Joronia a warm smile.

Joronia's eyes light up at the suggestion, nodding with a smile. She chuckled as she placed a hand on her chin. "That would be nice... i haven't talked with anybody for... i don't know, years? It would be a refresher to do so." She agreed, starting to hover. Kirby quickly walked beside her. She glanced at Kirby, relieved to finally have someone around after waiting for... who knows how long.

They talked for minutes, hours? Kirby couldn't really tell since it was just a black void, but at least they got to know themselves a lot. Eventually, Kirby noticed the 2 pairsof golden wings on Joronia's back, one pair was larger than the other, glowing radiantly under the never ending darkness of the black void. Kirby remembered this pair of wings, it was from Sectonia. His eyed widen, realizing that Joronia might be connected to her

"Where did you get those wings...?" Kirby asked, tilting his head. He pulled out his hand, touching it to see if it was real, and it was. Joronia flinched, quickly turning to Kirby.

"Uhm... i think it's better off you don't touch that. But, i'm not exactly sure where i got these wings? I just woke up and i just had these wings. I never had these, and i'm still getting used to it." Joronia explained, shrugging. She turned back, continuing to walk.

"She doesn't seem to be lying... i think." Kirby thought, walking beside her. He hoped to at least get something to do around the void rather than just walking, he found it quite boring as it went on and on. Kirby groans, his body hunching down as he walked. "When am i gonna wake up...?" He slowly lost the energy to walk, falling to the floor. Joronia noticed this, picking him up and carrying him on her back

"You're tired, aren't you?" Joronia pointed out, finding Kirby's tired look amusing. Kirby sighs, nodding.

"I've been walking for... i dunno, hours?" Kirby shrugs, leaning over on Joronia's back. Joronia smiles at him

"Who knew that the Hero of Dreamland will be that of a child." She thought, continuing to hover endlessly to the never ending abyss of the void.

Joronia glanced at Kirby, looking sleepy, giggling as she covered her mouth. Looking back up into the dark distance and seeing something. "Hm? What's that?" Joronia pointed at the distance, seeing white speck in the distance.

"Hm?" Kirby looks backs up, looking at where Joronia was pointing to. His eyes lights up, quickly jumping off of her, energized after finally getting something to do. He started running to it. Joronia was shocked to see Kirby immediately running off, not even thinking what might happen. She reached an arm to him, trying to grab him before he could go any further, but Kirby was too fast.

"W-wait! It might be... Oh, how reckless!" Joronia gives chase, running after him and trying to keep up.

As Kirby runs to the white speck, it becomes more recognizable. He stops at a certain distance, close enough to recognize who it is. A clanging sound is heard in its direction, its hands slamming something with a wrench. It had purple hair, a fancy suit. "Is that... President Haltmann?" Kirby asked, squinting his eyes and leaning forward to get a better view.

"Okay... 3... 2... 1." A sound clacking is heard. Suddenly, something exploded. The figure groans in anger, stomping its feet to the ground

"Grraaagh! Why isn't this working?! I have all the necessary materials, but why does the machine keep breaking?!" It yelled angrily, stomping around. Kirby slowly walks forward, carefully as he knows this person is once an enemy. Suddenly, in a fit of rage, the figure turned around while it stomped, seeing Kirby. His eyes widen, and quickly furrowed in anger.

"You!! You're the same pink thing that ruined my entire business!" The person shouted at Kirby, pointing with an enraged look.

"Yup... that's President Haltmann." Kirby said to himself, chuckling sheepishly. He sighed, knowing he's in for trouble. Pres. Haltmann quickly walked to Kirby, stomping angrily. Kirby stood his ground, looking up to Pres. Haltmann's eyes.

Pres. Haltmann pinched Kirby's cheek, pulling him up into and staring into his eyes. "Oh, i swear. I will go and build something just to-" A web suddenly tangled around Kirby, pulling him out of Pres. Haltmann's grip. Pres. Haltmann flinched and looked at where the web came from. Joronia, who was the one that pulled Kirby with a web and placing him down. She looks at him, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.

"You're not getting near the Hero of Dreamland, not on my watch!" Joronia exclaimed, stepping behind Kirby to protect him. Her eyes not leaving Pres. Haltmann in case he suddenly attacked.

"Uh... You don't have to do that.." Kirby scratched his head, rather embarassed that Joronia is the one protecting him. Joronia glanced at Kirby, giving him a warm smile.

"It's fine! The Hero of Dreamland does not need to waste his strength on such an insignificant being." Joronia insulted Pres. Haltmann, glancing at him with a disgruntled look. Kirby chuckled, shrugging and letting Joronia do whatever she wants, he wants to see how this will go. Pres. Haltmann's eye twitched in anger upon being insulted, he stomped his foot.

"Insignificant?! I'm not Insignificant! Do you not know me?! I'm Max Profitt Haltmann! The CEO of Haltmann Works Company!" Pres. Haltmann started to rant about how he is so great and everything. Sectonia seems to be not listening to any of these, rolling her eyes and turning to Kirby.

"Did he do anything bad to you?" Joronia asked, tilting her head in curiousity. Her frown shifts into a smile upon seeing Kirby's infectious, joyful smile. Kirby scratches his head, thinking deeply as he tries to remember what happened.

"Oh, he tried mechanizing Dreamland. That's basically his whole goal so he can gain more money to get more tech or... something like that." Kirby explained, shrugging as he is not exactly sure. Sectonia's eyes widen upon hearing this.

"He mechanizes planets?! That's horrible!" Joronia thought, thinking of all the innocent people Pres. Haltmann is has hurt by mechanizing planets.

"Or at least... that's what Susie told me." Kirby thought, thinking if Susie lied to him just so she can make Pres. Haltmann look bad. Sectiona turns to Pres. Haltmann, who was still ranting and being too prideful about his accomplishments.

"Yeah, listen. We don't care about how famous you are, or anything like that. But mechanizing planets for your own selfish gains? You're horrible." Joronia sternly spoke, gazing at him with an upset look. Pres. Haltmann, of course, got mad at this, absolutely hating how people talk to him as if he is a lower being.

"How dare you! You should be all grateful that i'm upgrading your planet for the better!" Pres. Haltmann shouted angrily, his face turning red as he started to get really angry of how Joronia speaks. He gets the feeling that Joronia sees him as a lower being, and he hates it.

"For the better? I think you mean for the worst." Joronia continued to insult Pres. Haltmann's works. Kirby was giggling, covering his mouth as he kept hiding behind Joronia, loving how angry Pres. Haltmann is getting.

Pres. Haltmann was getting too mad, fuming with rage. He pulls out a blaster out of his belt, preparing to shoot Joronja. Joronia quickly reacts to this, grabbing the blaster with a web and pulling it out of Pres. Haltmann's grasp. Pres. Haltmann looks shocked, before clenching his fists in anger "I swear in Nova's name! Once i get my executive suit, i will destroy you savages for ruining my plans! Especially you! You insignificant little pink thing!" Pres. Haltmann ranted, stomping his foot on the ground. He looks around, constantly looking for something to use for attacking, but there was none.

"I'm guessing you have no more weapons? Might wanna surrender when you have the chance." Joronia said with a teasing chuckle, spinning the blaster around like a toy to be messed with. Pres. Haltmann lowly growls in anger, seeing how Joronia is spinning his own blaster as if to taunt him. He thinks of a way to get around this, thinking desperately but completely fails. He sighs in defeat, looking down at the ground and putting his hands up

"I... surrender." Pres. Haltmann said, looking up at Joronia. He was upset by being defeated by her, looking away. His pride is shattered as he surrenders, thinking this is ruins his reputation

"Good! But just for safety measures." Joronia throws the blaster to the ground, completely breaking it. She chuckled, dusting her hands off. Pres. Haltmann gasps, absolutely shocked and infuriated on what Joronia did.

"You... why did you do that!? That was my only source of protection in this place!" Pres. Haltmann shouted, quickly going over to the broken blaster and picking up the pieces in a hurry. Joronia looks down with a judging look, staring at him as he picks the pieces up, her arms crossed.

"You're quite pathetic without your little gadgets, you know that?" Joronia commented, shaking her head while she dusts her hands

"S-shut up! I swear! I will find a way out of here, and i will be heading straight to that wretched planet of yours and mechanize it once again!" Pres. Haltmann exclaimed loudly, continuing to pick up the broken pieces of the blaster.

Joronia sighs, turning to Kirby. "What should we do to him? Should we just... leave him here or..." Joronia glanced at Kirby, expecting him to maybe have an idea on what to do with Pres. Haltmann

Kirby thinks for a second, before shrugging. "Eh... tie him up and drag him with us." Kirby suggested, returning to his peaceful smile.

Joronia nods, turning to Pres. Haltmann and suddenly wrapping him in a web without warning. Pres. Haltmann was caught off guard, he tries to get out but the web was too thick to get out of. "Agh! Get me out of-" Joronia interrupts Pres. Haltmann by putting a web on his mouth. Pres. Haltmann tries to speak, but coming out as muffled. He continues to writhe in the web, wanting to escape.

Joronia chuckles mockingly at him. "It's better this way, i don't wanna hear you ranting all the time." Joronia said, dragging Pres. Haltmann along as Kirby and Joronia started to walk.

Minutes later...

Joronia glanced at Kirby, then to Pres. Haltmann. Pres. Haltmann was grumbling angrily, but his voice is still muffled. "Is it a good idea to bring him along?" Joronia asked, glancing at Kirby. She doesn't seem to trust Pres. Haltmann enough to drag him along, but she trusts Kirby.

"He might be a use to us later! He's quite smart and he can make a lot of useful gadgets! Maybe he can invent one to get us out of here." Kirby confidently answered, beaming. Pres. Haltmann heared Kirby's complement, regaining a bit of his pride.

Joronia glanced at Kirby, then to Pres. Haltmann. She doesn't seem to be too trusting about him, but she had to trust Kirby's answer. She sighs, her frown shifting back into a smile as she sees Kirby's warm and bright smile as they walked

In the distance, they see several large objects lying on the floor. "What's that?" Joronia asked herself, walking closer to it, Kirby follows behind her, interested in finding out what is with the large objects lying around, splitting up.

Kirby walks to a large object, looking high up at it. It was a large mathematical compass, completely towering over them all. "Huh... these objects look... familiar." Kirby thought to himself, looking at the other objects there are around.

The many large objects are scattered around, objects like: piano keys, a ring, a meter, and a large broken lightbulb. Eventually, as Kirby was exploring, he sees a large, mechanical, broken pocket watch. He walks closer to it.

Upon getting a closer look, his eyes widen when he recognizes who it is. "G-Galactic Nova!?" Kirby exclaimed loudly, recognizing the look of the large pocket watch. Galactic Nova was plunged down to the floor, completely broken. Its eyes nothing but pure black as its many objects that were once attached to it, scattered around the place.

Kirby walks to Nova, touching its face to see if it'll react. Nothing happens, only the silence of the void is heard. Kirby sighs, feeling bad for what he's done. He quickly runs out of the place, trying to find Joronia.

Later...

Joronia was walking around, investigating the place while also dragging Pres. Haltmann around. Pres. Haltmann continues to struggle, determined to get out of the web. Joronia glanced at him, annoyed, her eyebrows furrowed. "You're not getting out, give it up." Joronia said, sternly as she crossed her arms.

Pres. Haltmann tries to talk, but it comes out as muffled. He groans in anger. Pres. Haltmann looks up, noticing Kirby running at them while flailing his arms.

"Guys! Come look at this!" Kirby yelled, out loud while he ran to them. Joronia perks up from the sudden shouting, turning to Kirby. As Kirby ran, he suddenly trips, sending him tumbling and rolling to them. Joronia and Pres. Haltmann were caught in Kirby's way, sending them flying like bowling pins, yelping out loud

"Augh... ow..." Joronia said, holding her head as she felt nauseous. She gets up, feeling a bit dizzy as her head twirled a bit. She shakes it off, looking at Pres. Haltmann and Kirby, who were also quite dizzy. Kirby was sitting sideways to the cogwheel, whilst Pres. Haltmann was hanging by the cog wheel. She chuckled at his looks, putting him back to the ground.

Kirby eventually snaps out of the dizziness, and so did Pres. Haltmann. Kirby sheepishly chuckled, a bit embarassed about what happened "S-sorry about what happened..." Kirby apologizes, his head hanging down in shame.

"I don't think you have to apologize over a small thing." Joronia said, reassuring Kirby that he didn't do anything wrong. Kirby sighs in relief

"As i was about to say... Can you two come with me for a second?" Kirby requested, gesturing them to follow him as he started to walk. Joronia grabs the web and started to drag Pres. Haltmann with them.

Kirby leads them to the place where he found Galactic Nova. Joronia was confused at what she was looking at, unknowingly looking at Galactic Nova. "What's this, Kirby?" Joronia asked, turning her head towards him as she raised an eyebrow, turning back to galactic nova as she rubber her chin. Pres. Haltmann was absolutely shocked at what he was looking at, stunned.

"You don't know? It's the Galactic Nova itself!" Kirby pointed out, confidently as he pointed at it with a big smile.

Joronia takes a moment to realize what Kirby just said, slowly looking back up to Galactic Nova "W-what!? T-this is the Galactic Nova itself!? D-dear nova, what happened!?" Joronia exclaimed in shock. She was absolutely stunned to see Galactic Nova in a broken state "W-who did this!? I'll make them pay!"

Kirby flinched at the sudden aggression, he sheepishly scratched the back of his head while looking at her with a sheepish smile "ahah... i-i think i'm the one who did that..." Kirby confessed, preparing to run in case Joronia started to attack him out of anger

Joronia was speechless, not expecting Kirby to be able to defeat Nova, but is also pretty confused as to why. "W-why!?" Joronia exclaimed, looking up at Nova with pity.

"I had to! It was gonna try and help an enemy of mine to try and take over popstar!" Kirby exclaimed, defending himself for this act he's done. Joronia sighs in dissapointment, looking down at Kirby and then back to Nova, feeling bad.

"Well... you at least had a good reason for it." Joronia said, getting ready to leave. Suddenly, Pres. Haltmann started to struggle a lot, as if he needed something from here.

"H-hey! Calm down!" Joronia exclaimed, trying to stop Pres. Haltmann from trying to escape. She held the rope tightly, gritting her teeth in annoyance.

Kirby noticed the desperate look Pres. Haltmann has, feeling bad about him. He sighs "Can you... let him go, Joronia?" Kirby asked, giving Joronia a trusting smile

Joronia was about to speak up, but noticed Kirby's smile. She sighs, letting him go. The web dissipated, and Pres. Haltmann quickly went to Galactic Nova, going inside the mechanism of it.

Joronia hovers beside Kirby, her arms crossed as she watched Pres. Haltmann disassemble something in Nova. "Is it a good idea to let him just... take something from Nova?" She whispers to Kirby, leaning closer and keeps watch of Pres. Haltmann

"Trust me! I mean, where do you think he's gonna go after he gets what he wants." Kirby answered, confident about his answer. Joronia nods, just waiting for Pres. Haltmann to finish.

Eventually, they hear a loud clang that causes them to perk up. They look to Pres. Haltmann, seeing him rip out something from the cogwheels of Galactic Nova. "Aha! There it is! The very thing i need to power up my-" Pres. Haltmann shuts himself up, not wanting to reveal what he's gonna make. He turns and walks back to Joronia and Kirby.

"I'm only joining you two since there is no other place to go to." Pres. Haltmann said, his eyebrows furrowed, holding a piece of Galactic Nova's parts.

"We are not going anywhere until you explain what you did there." Joronia said, narrowing her eyes in suspicion. She pulled her hands up, getting ready to wrap him in webs again. Pres. Haltmann is a bit taken aback, shaking his head and showing the piece that he took from Galactic Nova

"This is just to power one of machines, okay? It's not harmful or anything." Pres. Haltmann answers, putting it to his pocket

Joronia narrows her eyes, before putting her hands back down, turning away and starting to walk. Kirby and Pres. Haltmann follows.

Minutes Later...

As they walked, Kirby hummed the "Green Greens" music for a while. Joronia seemed to enjoy the music, unlike Pres. Haltmann, who was getting annoyed by it. He lowly groaned, walking as he crossed his arms. "Can you stop humming that stupid song of yours? It's getting irritating." Pres. Haltmann said, his eyebrows furrowed. Kirby stops, chuckling to himself.

"Alright, Alright. Maybe i can... change it into a different tune?" Kirby suggested, raising an eyebrow as he turned to Pres. Haltmann, walking backwards.

"No! Just stop humming! You already destroyed my company, and i don't want you to destroy my ears either!" Pres. Haltmann exclaimed, glaring at Kirby with anger, clenching his fists.

"Yeesh... Dramatic much?" Kirby said, shrugging and sighing loudly. "Alrighty then." Turning back to the front, quickly walking beside to Joronia

Joronia went lowered her head towards Kirby. "Are you letting yourself just get bossed around by... him?" Joronia glanced at Pres. Haltmann with disgust, disliking Pres. Haltmann's attitude to Kirby.

"Eh... i don't really want to get into a fight. Though, i'm not the kind of person to insult somebody... unless i have to." Kirby answered with a warm smile. Joronia sighs in relief, nodding.

"Wow... i guess the rumors are true. The Hero of Dreamland really is a forgiving and kind being." Joronia continues to walk beside Kirby, enjoying his company.

An hour later...

Joronia and Kirby was just talking, while Pres. Haltmann was just grumply listening, his arms crossed as he walked with them. He is using this as an opportunity to gain info and use this againts them, but he has gotten nothing so far, and this annoys him. His eye twitched in annoyance.

Joronia spots another white speck in the distance, her eyes squints as she tries to see it from a far. "What is that...?" Joronia thought to herself, noticing that the white speck was getting larger by the second. Her eyes widened, perking up as she quickly realized it was heading towards them in a rapid pace. Joronia pushed Kirby out of the way and quickly jumps out as the thing heads for them in such a fast speed

Pres. Haltmann, who didn't notice them dodge, looked up, quickly noticing the thing headed for him. His eyes widen upon seeing it, he panicked. He tries to dodge out of the way, but it dashes to him, causing him to be sent tumbling back. He gets up, sitting upright as his head twirls from the dizziness caused from the tumbling.

"Oof!" Kirby exclaimed, tumbling down on the ground as Joronia pushes him out of the way. He quickly gains composure, getting up and looking around. But... he sees no one except for the three of them. He scratched his head, confused. That is, until he looks up.

Its yellow halo glistens under the never-ending darkness of the black void. Its red eye glows with hatred, staring down at Kirby as it floats up into the sky. "T-that's...!" Kirby exclaimed in shock on who it is, but was quickly caught off by the creature trying to attack him, shooting a bunch of blue orbs all around field.

Joronia quickly jumps in, shielding both her and Kirby with a magic shield. The orbs suddenly explodes once it reaches the ground. Pres. Haltmann gets caught in it, getting flung behind Kirby with his face planted to the ground. "Oh! There you are!" Kirby forcefully chuckled upon seeing how much Pres. Haltmann was getting hurt.

Pres. Haltmann quickly gets up, pulling out his now fixed blaster. "Grah! What is this creature attacking us anyways!?" Pres. Haltmann shouted in anger, shooting at the creature, but it seemed unaffected by it.

Joronia grunts, feeling that her shield will not be able to handle it any longer. "This shield won't last long! We need to quickly think of a plan!" Joronia pointed out, glancing at both of them.

Kirby takes another glance at the enemy, making sure what he was seeing the right thing. He squinted his eyes, taking a better look at what it was. His eyes does not deceive him, the enemy is Zero, one of Kirby's many enemies. "It's... Zero! One of my enemies from the past!" Kirby said, quickly ducking down as a blue orb heads towards him.

"That doesn't matter now! What's its weaknesses?!" Pres. Haltmann exclaimed, still trying to shoot at it but having no effect.

"U-uhm..." Kirby tries to think hard, scratching his head. He was having a hard time focusing due to the loud explosions. His eyes lights up, remembering it. "I-it's eyes and the bandage on its head! That's its weaknesses!" Kirby points at it

The shield suddenly breaks, blasting them all in seperate directions. Joronia and Pres. Haltmann went into seperate directions to attack it, while Kirby, who had nothing to use to defend himself or to attack, is completely alone. "A-are you all just gonna leave me here?!" Kirby exclaimed in a panic as he clenched his head. He jumps in a panic as an orb shoots at him, accidently dodging it.

Joronia summons two types of staffs, one made with silver plating with a floating jade circular gem at the top, the other one is a gold staff with a red diamond shaped gem. Kirby noticed this, thinking of Sectonia immediately upon seeing it. He shakes it off, not wanting to assume it so suddenly. Joronia was about to attack Zero, before noticing Kirby being targeted. "Kirby! Catch!" Joronia yelled, throwing one of staffs at Kirby. Kirby perks up, seeing the staff thrown at him, he jumps to it, grabbing it firmly to its handle.

A jester hat split into two rims suddenly appeared on Kirby's head, one part is amber colored with small white stars and a pompom at the end, the other part is a solid red with the same pompom in the end. Usually, Kirby would get his signature wand, but due to the special staff Joronia threw at him, it didn't change. Kirby sighs in relief, finally have something to defend himself.

Joronia was quite confused on the sudden appearance of the hat, quickly shaking her head and turning her attention to Zero. She uses her other hand to summon a sword, specifically a rapier.

Pres. Haltmann aims his blaster at Zero's eye, but Zero blocks it. He looked around, noticing he could just escape right now. He looks at the ground, contemplating about his decision. He groans in anger "What's the point!? It's gonna go after me next if i try to escape!" Pres. Haltmann exclaims, gripping tighter on the blaster and starting to put more effort in trying to hit Zero's eye, running around swiftly to dodge the blue orbs that were exploding.

Kirby noticed that Zero was now blocking their attacks. "It seems Zero has learned from before, huh...' Kirby thought, before running to Zero, his eyes glanced at the staff Sectonia gave him. He smiled with a determined look. "Let's give this a try!" Kirby exclaimed, jumping to Zero and pointing the staff to him. A powerful black lightning shoots out, causing Kirby to be sent back to the ground. Kirby grunts, having trouble keeping his ground due to how powerful the lightning shooting out of the staff is.

Zero covers its eye with both of its wings, making sure its weak spots doesn't get hit. Joronia uses this as a chance to aim for the bandaid at its head, quickly teleporting up and plunging down with her rapier. As soon as the rapier plunges through Zero's halo, it doesn't go through. She realizes something, its head is concealed with a forcefield, covered via the halo. She quickly swings at the halo but Zero teleports out, she falls to the ground softly as she levitates.

She pants, getting tired already from the excessive magic she is using with her staff. Kirby on the other hand is still energetic as he was having fun with the staff. Pres. Haltmann is just shooting non-stop. Joronia glanced at Kirby, getting an idea.

Joronia quickly goes to Kirby, suddenly wrapping him in a web. Kirby was caught off guard "W-what are you doing!?" Kirby exclaimed, extremely confused as he was suddenly wrapped around.

Joronia started to spin Kirby around "Just hang on tight!" Joronia exclaimed, spinning in a rapid pace and releases Kirby to Zero's direction. Kirby yelps, being flung to Zero. As soon as Kirby noticed himself heading towards Zero's direction, he quickly points his staff, aiming for its eye.

Kirby was about to hit its eye, until... Kirby got caught in Zero's wing. Its grip tightens to the point it hurts

"AGH!" Kirby exclaimed in pain, not being able to get out of Zero's grip. He continues to writhe and struggle. Zero looks at him with a death stare. "L-let me go!" Kirby exclaimed, using the staff to electrocute Zero, but it doesn't affect it at all.

Joronia and Pres. Haltmann watched in horror, seeing Kirby being hurt immensely by Zero. "K-KIRBY!" Joronia shouts, panicking as she tries to find a way to get Kirby without hurting him, quickly looking around in a panic.

After a few seconds, Zero sighs, letting go of Kirby. Kirby, who was now unconcious, falls to the ground, his beam ability breaks as he lets go of the staff. Joronia quickly catches Kirby and her staff, sighing in relief and looking back up to Zero, who was now landing softly to the ground, resting its wings at the ground. Joronia quickly backs away, holding Kirby in her arms tightly. Pres. Haltmann quickly runs beside to her.

"I don't see the point in killing you... since you're already dead." Zero said, its eyes narrows at Kirby, who was unconcious. Joronia grits her teeth, angered by Zero hurting Kirby immensely. Pres. Haltmann seemed to take satisfaction, but also pity at Kirby.

"What are you talking about!? Kirby's not dead! He's still alive and well!" Joronia exclaimed in disbelief, stopping herself from trying to suddenly attack Zero. She wanted to, but she didn't want to attack it without anything to hurt it. It's quire obvious that normal weapons won't hurt it.

"I'm not talking about him only, i'm referring to all of you." Zero answers, rolling its eye. Joronia's face expresses confusion and anger, but not lets her guard down.

"W-what are you talking about?" Joronia asked, a furrowed look on her face as she tightly held Kirby, protecting him if there is any danger. Right now, Joronia's mind is to protect Kirby, for he is the most important out of all.

Zero scoffed, annoyed "Hmph... i guess you insolent creatures wouldn't get it." Zero crossed its wings, as if it were its arms. Sternly looking down at Joronia. Joronia could feel its condescending stare, causing her to lose confidence. She quickly shook her head to shake the feeling off.

"Why don't you just answer us already?" Pres. Haltmann joins in, also getting annoyed by Zero's stare. He hides his blaster.

Zero scoffs once again, rolling its eye. "Fine..." Zero sighs, putting its wings back down to rest on the ground. "This place...? We're stuck between the line between life, and death." Zero boldly answered with a stern yet sincere tone. Joronia and Pres. Haltmann was in disbelief, feeling a shiver crawl up their spine.

"I-i can't be dead! I-i just blacked out after looking at a mirror! That's all!" Joronia exclaimed in refusal and disbelief, not wanting to accept the truth. She can feel her body tremble at the thought of losing her kingdom, her friends, her everything.

"That's right! We can't be dead! All i remember here is blacking out, not dying at all!" Pres. Haltmann nods in agreement, also being in disbelief. His memories were blank from the incident, all he remembers was trying to put the helmet on.

"That's because you two weren't in control of yourselves when you died." Zero quickly answers, staring down at them condescendingly. Getting quite ticked off at how much they try to deny it. Zero remembers the way he died clearly, unlike Pres. Haltmann and Joronia.

"W-what...?" Joronia muttered, shocked. Her heart drops. She quickly shook her head, wanting to deny it. She tries to speak up, but fails to get the courage to do so. She trembles at the thought.

A thought clicks in Pres. Haltmann's mind, remembering what happened, connecting the dots. When he puts the helmet, the "Mother Computer" must've took control of him. This was the only conclusion he can think of when he blacked out when putting the helmet. He tightly clenched his fists, growing frustrated. "That forsakened computer betrayed me?!" Pres. Haltmann said in his thoughts, regretting ever creating the mother computer.

Kirby's eyes slowly open. He turns his head, noticing Zero. Kirby let out a short yelp, quickly getting out of Joronia's hands. He was about to start shouting at Zero, pointing at him before stopping and looking at the others. They all looked frustrated and in despair. Kirby stops, turning to them. "Hey, guys...? What's with all of you being down in the dumps so suddenly?" Kirby asked, worried for them.

Zero glanced at Kirby, just by the mere sight of him makes it quite angered, but it knew it had no point attacking Kirby. "Nothing. They just realized the horrific truth of being dead." Zero answered, turning away from Kirby.

"D-dead?!" Kirby exclaimed, now realizing why they all look so sad and horrified. Kirby glanced at Pres. Haltmann, who looked frustrated as ever. He nods, knowing that Pres. Haltmann had already died before his eyes "but what about Joronia?" Kirby asked himself, tilting his head and wondering. He couldn't really get a clue, but one. He thinks he shouldn't immediately assume it, since Joronia and Sectonia don't know each other.

"Joronia? What do you remember?" Kirby asked, trying to put a smile to lighten the mood, but gives a sad smile instead. Joronia takes a glance at Kirby, before looking back down

"A-all i remember was... looking at a mirror, and seeing a dark figure immerge from it..." Joronia manages to speak up, still scared and not wanting to accept that she died.

A thought clicks. Kirby perks up, his eyes widening. "A mirror...?" Kirby said in his mind, remembering something. "W-wait! Does this mirror have a gold plating and wings!?" Kirby quickly asked, trying to figure something out. Joronia flinched by the sudden exclamation. She glanced at him, surprised that Kirby knows of the mirror, she nods.

"H-how'd you know?" Joronia asked, raising an eyebrow as she looks at Kirby. Now, she knows that Kirby is connected to this, she knows that he knows of something.

"That mirror was the dimension mirror! It connects to other worlds!" Kirby answers. He sighs, now having a clue on what to do after getting out of this place.

"A-a dimension mirror..?" Joronia thinks deeply about this, trying to connect the dots. However, she fails but comes up with one solution. "Taranza would never try to do that, would he...? No! He must've not known about it." Joronia rambled in her mind, wanting to figure out the cause of her death.

"And what about you?" Zero suddenly spoke up, turning to Kirby. Kirby flinched as it suddenly turned to him, backing away a bit.

"W-what about me?" Kirby asked, confused by what Zero meant, ready to start fighting if he needed to. His face expressed fear, and nervousness.

"There's only one reason for you to be here, it means that you died" Zero answered, narrowing its eyes at Kirby with suspicion. Kirby was confused, all he did was sleep, nothing else.

"N-no! I can't be dead... i just slept! That's all." Kirby sheepishly laughs, feeling unsure if he was actually dead.

"Are you sure...? You take too much trust in your so called friends" Zero spoke in a mocking tone, leaning closer to Kirby. Kirby felt intimidated.

"I'm not dead! My friends would never!" Kirby started to shout, flailing his arms and not wanting to believe Zero.

"Face it, Kirby. You're stuck here, in the line between life and death." Zero answered, staring deeply into Kirby's eyes. Kirby looks into Zero's eye with fear and disbelief.

"I'm not... i'm not dead!" Kirby started to rant that he is not dead and that his friends will never kill him. Frantically repeating the line "I'M NOT DEAD!" over and over again, his eyes started to water.

"I'M... NOT DEAD!!"

The cry was loud enough to the point he feels himself passing out from exhaustion. He falls to the ground, his eyes closing from the immense loudness the cry he gave.

Suddenly...

Kirby gasped, getting up. He looked around, a familiar vibe settles in. He realizes something, he was back home. He was breathing frantically after what happened. He took a moment to balance his breathing out. It was still very early in the morning. He feels something trickle down his cheek, wiping it and looking what it was. It was a tear, it must've came from the dream he had. He sighs, getting up and looking at himself in the mirror, noticing how messy he looked, as if he fought in a battle or something.

Kirby sighs, not rubbing his eyes groggily. "I-it's just a dream... it's nothing to be afraid of." Kirby tries to reassure himself, going outside. He didn't get much sleep due to the dream. He still remembers it so vividly, as if it was real..

"Just a dream..."
