Chapter Text
POV- Laura
I checked the time on my phone once again. There were a few people in the bar, mostly teenagers or businessmen behind their laptops. There's still over an hour left in my shift. I can't wait to get home so I can change out of this damn juniform.
Then the sound of the doorbell echoed through the bar. Two teenagers entered through the door.
The girl had long curly brown hair, was wearing denim shorts, a tied green top and wedge shoes, and had sunglasses on her face.
A boy was standing next to her, he had short brown hair, jeans, a white T-shirt with acred checkered flannel on top, red converses, and, like the brunette, he was wearing sunglasses.
But what really caught my attention was the smell.
This sweet, almost choking aroma. Like chocolate and flowers at the same time mixed with some metallic smell.
The smell of blood.
They didn't behave in any unusual way. They sat down at one of the tables by the window, looked through the menu, and when the waitress came up to them, they placed their order. While waiting for the food, they talked and laughed. The girl showed her companion something on her phone that made him laugh.
I didn't want to make a fuss, so I decided to keep an eye on them. The smell of blood was so faint that, in fact, one of them could have simply injured themselves quite seriously some time ago.
They spent another hour or so, before the boy approached the register to pay. He was the one who smelled like something chocolatey with a slight metallic feel to it. When he held out his hand to pay, you could see that his hand was tied wit a bandage.
Ha, so I'm paranoid after all.
Through the window you could see them launching towards a large white car. There is only one question left.
Are they just visitors or will they stay here?
Notes:
Sorry it's so short and not very good.
I SWEAR IT WILL BE BETTER!!!The action just need to get a little more time and I swear it will be more interesting.

Chapter Text
POV- Derek
The forest was quiet and peaceful. Cora, who was within earshot, was whining and cursing under her breath about how nothing was happening and how boring the patrol was today.
I rolled my eyes, unlike this drama Qeen, I liked it when nothing happened on my shift, I could finally breathe knowing that no one in the family would bother me.
I love my family, but sometimes I feel like I can't breathe in a house full of people, not to mention that most of these "people" are not people and they have strained senses.
I was patrolling the southern part of the territory when I heard the sound of soft footsteps, I went towards the sound.
From among the bushes I saw two teenagers, they must have been the age of Cora and the rest of her gang, but I never saw them here before.
A pretty brunette with her hair tied up in a scruffy bun was crouching between the rocks, she was wearing an old denim jacket, a white top and threadbare jeans, plus green high-soled sneakers, she was turned towards me in such a way that I could only see her profile.
Above her stood a good-looking brunette in a red hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers. He had a pleasant-looking face framed by moles, full pink lips, and beautiful hazel doe eyes, from which I could't take my eyes off.
I was brought back to reality by a conversation between two teenagers.
"We had to come here right now for this damn thing, it's getting dark."
"I said that if you are going to complain, then you can go back to the car and wait there" she replied to him, irritated "I need to focus 'cause I'll make a mistake and then I swear, I'll hit you!" This threat must have worked, because the boy shuts up and the girl pulled out a small silver knife from her pocket. She made a few quick movements and put something pink in a small glass vial, straightened up and without a word walked towards what was probably the previously mentioned car.
"Hey! Adela, wait!" brunet ran after her.
I walked over to the place where the girl was bending over, and saw small pink flowers no bigger than a fingernail. The plant didn't look special, it resembled an ordinary wildflower and didn't have any unusual smell either. I repeated the girl's previous movements and plucked a few petals and ran back home.

Secondly, Stiles and Adelajda are both 17 years old, they moved to Beacon Hills two days ago, they will study their last year in Beacon Hills, they live with the sheriff.
Thirdly, and last at this point, it is still summer so the topic of the school will come later.

POV- Derek
The Hale house was loud and crowded as always, after all it was well after ten. Finding mom wasn't difficult, she was sitting with dad on the sofa in the living room.
" Derek? What are you doing here honey. There is still an hour left until the end of your patrol shift" She looked at me with concerned look.
"I know, but I came across something near the southern border and..... and I think you need to look at this" A mixture of curiosity and suspicion appeared in her eyes
"Alll right" She got up from her seat on the couch and headed towards her office, motioning for me to follow her.
"okay, show me what you've got" She sat down behind a large mahogany desk. I stood in front of her and placed the small pink flowers that the girl had collected on the desk between us. She carefully picked up one flower, looked at it from all sides and snif it couple times.
" look's normal to me but the smell, it's fained but wildflowers don't smell like that" She snif it again. "Derek were did you found it ?"
"Well... I was patroling and I heard footsteps so I went to check it out, I found two teenagers probably somewhere around Cor's age. The girl was crouching next to these flowers, she collected some of them in a vial, then she and the other, a guy, leave the reserve. They didn't notice me, but I think the girl what kind of flowers are these , she said she had to concentrate or else she would make a mistake, something like that, the boy seemed irritated that she dragged him into the forest in the dark, but after she shouted at him he stopped complaining."
She listened to my explanation with a serious face, when I finished she closed her eyes and rested her elbows on the desk and hid her face in her hands.
"All right" She said after a moment, removing her hands from her face and opening her eyes " I have no idea what these flowers are, but I don't like the smell, and besides, what you're saying, there was a couple of teenagers wandering around our area specifically looking for these flowers, which can't be a coincidence. From what you say, they may just be amateur florists, but it's better to be safe than sorry, they may also be inexperienced witches from a coven, which doesn't bode well." She rose from her chair " I'll contact Deaton and the sheriff, there might be something bigger going on here, you'll tell me and the rest everything from the beginning when they get here, understand?"
I nodded, These two didn't seem dangerous, but my mother was right, it's better to be safe than sorry.

POV - Sheriff
The sound of the phone ringing wake me up from my sleep. I started blindly looking for the phone on the night stand.
After I finally managed to locate the damn thing, without checking I answered the call and put the phone to my ear.
"Hello, Sheriff Stilinski, how can I help you at this ungodly hour"
"Hello Sheriff this is Talia Hale, I'm sorry to call you so late, but I need you to come to my house as soon as possible"
The seriousness in her voice indicated the seriousness of the situation. I threw off the covers and got out of bed.
" I'm on my way" With these words I hung up, I quickly changed into my uniform and left the bedroom.
As I passed the kitchen, I noticed that the light was on and from inside I could hear the sound of fast typing on the keyboard. Backing into the kitchen, I noticed Adelajda sitting on the kitchen cabinet with a laptop on her lap. Looking at her pink plaid pajama pants, white baggy top and her curls escaping from the bun on top of her head, the girl had recently slept or was planning to go to sleep but was obviously caught up in something on her laptop.
She was so into the device that she didn't even notice when I entered the kitchen, she only raised her head when I stood in front of her. The brunette gave me a tired but still warm smile.
"Hi"
"Hi kidoo, why aren't you sleeping and what on earth do you have under your eyes?" She had some green gel under her eyes.
"Oh, they're just eye gel pads, they make me look less like a zombie that broke out of the ground." She chuckled at me like it was the most obvious thing in the world, I rolled my eyes with a slight smile.
"Okay smartpants, but that still doesn't explain why you're still awake, it's almost after twelve"
"Well, Stiles and I are planning to finally go shopping for furniture and wall paints tomorrow, and I was looking for the best store in the area, and then I fell into a black hole of furniture offers and I didn't even notice how late it was." She blushed in embarrassment at being caught red-handed.
"That's fine, but don't stay too long, it's summer, but you still need sleep, Young lady" I went to the door, out of the corner of my eye catching the brunette rolling her eyes with a smile on her face.
"I'm leaving, I don't know when I'll be back, if something happens-"
"Yeah yeah, If somethink happends, to call you I know. Now go, If they call you so late It must be important" she replied from the kitchen.
Before I closed the door, I heard her shout from the kitchen, "I love you, drive safe". I smailed and got into the car.
****
Taliai's eldest daughter, Laura, led me into the office. Talia was sitting in a chair behind the desk, behind her was her husband, Eric on her right was her son Derek, in the corner of the room in the shadow as usual stood her brother, Peter, and next to the desk was Deaton.
At the sound of the door closing, Thalia looked up at me from something Deanto was holding.
"Good thing you're here"
"Okay, what's going on here Talia?" Instead of answering me, she gestured for me to go to the desk and look at the item in the Veterinarian's hand. There were small pink flowers in his hand, I was confused because they didn't look anything special, they looked like ordinary wildflowers.
" So, let me get this straight, Our problem is these little flowers?" I looked at them in disbelief.
"Flowers are a small part of this problem" Deanton spoke up " These are not ordinary flowers, they are called angel sleepwalker, they are used to speed up the healing of external wounds and for narcolepsy "
"But we're talking about people who are interested in them. Derek, honey tell us again exactly what you saw" She look up at her son.
" well, I was patrolling the southern part of the territory when I heard the sound of footsteps, the footsteps were so light that it could have just been some wild animal but my instincts told me to go check it out. Then I saw two teenagers, they looked no more than 17-18 years old, the girl was picking these flowers and the boy looked like he was on the lookout, but he didn't look very confident about being in the forest in the dark."
"What did they look like, what were they wearing?" Peter asked, he looked intrigued but his face showed slight annoyance at the mention of a strangers wandering around the pack's territory. Werewolf closed his eyes, trying to remember as many details as possible.
"They looked quite similar, they could be siblings or close family. They both had brown hair, the girl had her hair tied up in a bun and the boy had it cut to the length of his neck. I don't know what kind of eyes the girl has because she was crouching down with her back turned to me, but the boy had light brown eyes. The girl was wearing an old denim jacket, a white top and faded jeans, and green high-soled sneakers, while the boy had red hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers"
"And what did they smell like?" Laura asked, leaning on the door.
"Now that you mention it, I don't smell anything, as if they weren't there at all"
"They had to mask it, it's quite a simple spell but its length depends on the power and experience of the person casting it." Deanston spoke up, gaining everyone's attention. "This means that at least one of them must have magic, and from what Derek told us, I can quite confidently assume that of the two, the girl has more knowledge about magical plants."
"I agree with Deanton" Talia said as she stood up from her seat looking at everyone in the room. "I sincerely doubt that this pair of teenagers will pose any major problems for us or the city, but I would like to discuss all possible scenarios and how to prevent them"
"All right, let's start with the fact that it would be for the best to locate these two" I broke the silence in the room.
"As far as we know, no one recognizes them or has ever seen them before, which means they must have arrived in the city recently." Eric stated
"You're right, dad. That also means that one of the city cameras must have caught them" Laura said proudly.
"In that case, I'll get to work"

Chapter Text
POV- Isaac
To be honest, I thought this day couldn't have been more fucked up.
For over a week all the Adults in Pack had been acting terribly strange. They were talking to each other in whispers, they had some meetings in Talia's office, and they were all tense, but when we asked them about it, they just brushed us off, saying it was nothing. Cora and Lydia were extremely annoyed that they weren't included in the case, just like the rest of us really.
Fortunately, the girls didn't have much time to sulk (thank God, or it would also backfired on me) they were busy with shopping and other things for the new school year,
"We don't have standards like the rest of these girls" As Erica said.
Plus, Scott still can't get over his breakup with Allison, and what's even worse is that he talks about her all the time.
That's why I spent the last week mostly alone, and the nightmares came back, which made me feel even worse.
And now the hunters. Are you fucking kidding me!!!
Now I'm lying here, with a wound from a knife poisoned with Wolfsbane, slowly bleeding out. Well, I won't say I didn't expect such an ending, yet it is no less terrifying.
"Look at him, you're not such a scary monster without your claws, are you?" Hunter kicked me in the stomach, I curled up even more to protect myself and they burst out laughing.
There are three hunters, the woman is blonde and appears to be in her late 30s, her companions are two men in their early and late 20s. They caught me by surprise while I was walking around the reserve, yes, I know it's a stupid idea, but I couldn't sleep and I needed to get away from the four walls of my room, and there aren't many places I could go at 2 a.m.
"Is this supposed to be a member of Hale's pack? I'm honestly disappointed, it's just a beta, but still." The youngest of them spoke with a mocking tone.
"Be careful, he may be injured and weakened, but he's still a werewolf, don't let your guard down" The older one hissed at him.
"Calm down Kive, wolfsbane is already coursing through his veins, he'll be dead before sunrise" The blonde said with a smug smile.
"Maybe so is Agata, but just to be sure, let's stay until he dies"
Apparently this Kive guy is some kind of authority in this gang because the rest of the hunters just listened and sat down waiting for me to finally bleed out. With every minute I was losing more and more blood, I was losing more and more energy, I was losing hope that anyone would find me, but those hunting bitchs they just laughed, pleased with themselves.
"It's cruel to do something like that to a poor puppy, don't you think?"
There was a girl standing between the trees in the dark, she looked like a normal pretty teenager my age with one slight difference....
Her eyes were jet black
No white color, completely black eyes that played a terrifying mix with a kind smile.
"Who the fuck are you?" As if on cue, all three of them rose to their feet, she just smiled sweetly. Then a boy appeared behind them, facing them but with his back to me, and his hands flashed with golden sparks.
"So cruel, oh so cruel" he had a pleasant voice, just like the girl, but the cold tone clashed with the warm and melodic voice. The hunters grabbed their weapons and assumed combat-ready positions.
"What do you think we should do with them?" Girl asked with a smile still playing on her lips.
"Hmm, we should give them a hard time."
"Very good" With heavy eyelids, I watched as with these words both teenagers slowly began to approach the hunters. Finally, fatigue won and I lost consciousness at the same time as the hunters were attacking the teenagers.
I woke up to a melodious voice.
"Lavenders blue, dilly, dilly
Lavender's green
When I am king, dilly, dilly
You shall be queen"
The voice was warm, it must have belonged to a girl. I was lying on a red hoodie and my wounds were treated and wrapped in bandages, there were some vials and rubber gloves next to me. Turning my head to the side in pain, I saw her sitting next to the hunters lying on the ground, with some linen pouches and glass vials lying around her legs. She pulled out some strange-smelling, colorful dried flowers. She was singing to herself while she was working, there was no sign of the boy anywhere.
"Who told you so, dilly, dilly
Who told you so?
'Twas mine own heart, dilly, dilly
That told me so
Call up your men, dilly, dilly
Set them to work
Some to the plough, dilly, dilly
Some to the fork
Some to make hay, dilly, dilly
Some to reap corn
While you and I, dilly, dilly
Keep ourselves warm"
The song was nice and melodious, it had a calming effect, I tried to get up into a sitting position. The movement caught the girl's attention, she quickly walked over and knelt down next to me.
"Relax blonedy, You're in no danger anymore, I won't do anything to you, you have my word" She wasn't lying, her heart was slower than normal people's, but she wasn't lying. She had the same kind smile on her lips as before, but unlike the one she gave to the hunters, this one was warm and genuine.
"Where..... where is the other one, the boy"
"He went to get your pack" she helped me lean against a tree "Rest, I tried to remove as much wolfsbane as possible and speed up the healing as much as I can, but I'm not an expert so you need to rest."
"What about them?" I looked at the hunters lying on the ground
"They're alive, if that's what you mean, but they got hit pretty hard and shouldn't wake up for a few hours, at least not until your friends get here, now sleep you need to regain your strength" She patted me lightly on the shoulder and went back to her work, singing again.
I slowly started to drift off to the melody sung by the girl
"Roses are red, dilly, dilly Voilets are blue Because you love me, dilly, dilly I will-"

Chapter Text
POV- Stiles
After we knocked down the hunters and Adela got rid of the wolfsbane and dressed the boy's wound, I went to get someone from his pack. Of course, I won't go to the front door and say:
"Yeah, well, surprise! me and my cousin have been living here for over a month under your super noses, and by the way, just like you, we are supernatural beings, and also of endangered species, actually and while illegally wandering around your territory, we also saved the life of one of your betas. So- you 're welcome!"
Yeah, hell nah- I feel sorry for the boy, but I don't dream of house arrest, and explaining it would be a nightmare, straight out of a horror movie.
The plan to lure Hale's there is quite simple. The place where the hunters attacked the blond werewolf is quite far away, so it's quite obvious that they weren't able to track him down, and besides, it's only 4 a.m., Adela said that the beta had been losing blood for at least 2 hours, so it's possible that no one has noticed about he's absences yet.
All they have to do is catch his trail. Easy
Using a spark, I will intensify the scent of the blonde's shirt scraps and leave a trail that will lead them to him. A large beautiful house emerged from the trees, the Hale House. All the windows are dark and I can't hear anything. I walked even closer to take a better look around. When I was at the porch, I heard someone's footsteps. I crawled under the bushes, and a pair of people appeared in front of me. A pretty blonde girl that looked about my age was wearing clothes that looked like running set. However, her beauty is nothing compared to her companion.
He is fuckignig gorgeous! okey?!
He was tall, tanned and muscular, with black hair that curled around his neck, and those eyes~
God those eyes, resembling the shade of forest green in which you could drown.
Plus the guy wasn't wearing a shirt, Ah! His tan perfectly complimented his muscles and athletic figure, it makes my mouth water and brings blushes to my cheeks. Thank God for Adela's oil from those strange flowers of hers that mask my scent, otherwise they would have sniffed me out.
This thought sobers me up like pouring a bucket of cold water. Focus on the task, Stiles!
I quickly and quietly slipped past them to get back to the trees in the direction I came from. I took the pieces of T-shirt out of my pocket and rubbed them between my hands, the golden sparks began to from between them. I threw the shreds on the ground and started to retreat deeper into the reserve, keeping my eyes on the couple standing by the house. They both turned towards the marked tree.
"Isaac? Why are you here?" The blonde called out. Bingo!
I didn't wait for their further reaction, I looked at the handsome guy for the last time and then quickly ran back where Adela was left with the blonde beta and praying they don't catch up with me.
*****
Adela was standing with her back against the tree where Beta was sleeping, dead to the world. She was looking through her phone and in her other hand she was holding an object that looked like a cigarette.
"Jesus, you're burning that shitty herbs again. You know, just because no one has yet proven that they are harmful to your health, it doesn't mean that you should smoke them like a locomotive."
She smirk, took a deep drag and exhaled the smoke through her nose, putting her phone in her pocket.
"Stop being such a hater, you have your adrenaline and I have herbal cigarettes." She took a few more puffs, then threw the cigarette end on the ground and stomped on it with her shoe. She threw my red hoodie at me and walked towards me, picking up her bag which was lying next to the still unconscious hunters, with the slight difference that now they were tied with cable ties.
"Where thw hell did you get the cable ties from?"
"What? It's better to have it with you than to regret not having it later. You better tell me who made you as red as a tomato" The smirk returned to her lips and a mischievous gleam appeared in her dark brown eyes.
"I don't know what you mean, dear cousin" I felt the warmth from my cheeks spread further down on my neck.
"Oh come on! You can't fool me, you have that goofy look in your eyes. Tell. me. everything."
I roll my eyes and bite my lower lip, letting Brunette take my arm and pull me towards the car.
"Okay, so there was this guy..."
"Uuuuu~ a guy, huh?"
"Yeah and he was drop dead gorgeous! He was tall, tanned and muscular, He had black hair that was so smooth and soft that I bet if I ran my fingers through it it would be as soft and smooth as silk. And those eyes, Adela, if you could see his eyes, their green resembled the one when the sun hits that perfect point in a clearing in the forest."
She chuckled, I bet I had a dreamy smile on my face but I didn't care, this guy was truly stunning.
"Okey Loverboy I get it he was the hottest men you ever saw but we better get out of here before the rest of the blonde's pack shows up, I don't dream of talking to them, especially your father, or the consequences from my father if he finds out. And we both know he'll find out."
Adela was right, each of these possibilities made my stomach turn, so I pushed the thoughts about the handsome guy to the back of my mind, I will come back to them later.
Preferably when no one is around.

Chapter Text
POV- Adelajda
"Stiles, do you remember where I put my black Mary Jane heels?!" I nervously searched through the closet and shelves. My long curly hair, styled in a controlled mess, fell over my shoulder and sticking to my lip gloss.
If we want to get our lesson plans and the rest of this formal crap, we have to leave soon.
"For gods sake-!" I brushed away the sticky strands of hair with irritation and maybe too much aggression in the gesture, but damn it, I'm starting to lose my patience. I didn't get up at the fucking crack of dawn to do my hair, makeup and put on a stunning outfit so that I wouldn't have to find the crappy shoes that were here yesterday!
"STILES!"
"You know you don't have to scream at me, for me to come here and help you, right?" Stiles stood in the doorway, leaning against the door frame. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a flannel over it and baggy jeans that hung low on his hips, revealing his narrow waist, and on his legs he had his favorite red converse.
I huffed
"Yes, Maybe If you just, I don't know. Wake up when I asked you and listen to me when I told you what we had to do today, you would know that if we didn't leave in the next 15 minutes, we would be late, ON OUR FIRST DAY!" I threw my hands up with a annoyaned groan.
He studied me for a while. Then he push himself from the door frame and stand in front of me, staring into my eyes, which I stubbornly fixed on the wardrobe as if it had personally offended me. Wich it acually did offended me, one of my favorite pairs of Mary Jane heels disappeared!
That shitty wardrobe and its fucking shelves that lose all my good shoes! Ugh!
"Adela."
"Oh my god, what?!"
"You've never worried about being on time or following a set schedule, and like hell you're not starting to do now."
"Well, you know what they say, new year, new me" A smirk playing at my lips
"Adela, we are starting a new school year, not a new chapter in life"
"Same thing" I wave my hand dismissively
He looked up at the ceiling like he was asking for strength the god himself "Five secend, no buleshit?" He tried with a small smile. I huffed a laugh.
When we were about 13, we came up with "five second, no bullshit" - it's more or less about not lying, regardless of whether we think the truth can hurt or irritate the other person. You must not lie, simple as that.
My face fell a little and I looked down at my shoeless feet.
"Is this really about the shoes or is something else bothering you?"
"Okey, fine, fine! It's not about shoes, running late or whatever"
"Then what is it, because you've been snipi all morning"
I wiggle my toes. Then all walls collapsed
"I just....I...I don't know if I didn't do more damage to him" I whispered as if afraid that when I said these words out loud they would turn out to be true. Stiles face soften
"Oh Adela" He huged me tightly. I hid my face in the crook of his neck, hiding from all worries just like I used to when Ilittle girl.
"You did everything you could and I know that blond beta is safe and sound. And what's more, if it wasn't for you the Wolfsbane would have finished him off so you're as allways an angale that help's onters"
"But Stiles, I never in my 17 years of liveing pach up a frecing werewolf! A humen, fairy, spark sure. I can't even count how many times I've patched myself up." I mumbled into his neck. "My knowledge of werewolves begins and ends with books, that's it"
"Yeah, well we're on the same cart I remind you. My knowledge is what I researched and what we both heard from famile srories" He pulled me so we can stand face to face with each other. That warm and familiar smile still visible on his lips.
"Now let's look for that damn mary jane heels before we end up with a bad reputation on day one" He winked with that goofy look on his face, makeing me laugh.

Chapter Text
POV- Stiles
The whole school was buzzing with murmurs and whispers about the new students.
Maybe at their old school, where there were so many students that you didn't even know a tenth of your year, let alone everyone else in the school, something like a couple of new students would have been comparable to the weather outside. But no, not in a small town where everyone knew everything and everyone. Even before we stepped out of Adela's white Maserati, which she'd obviously gotten as her sweet sixteenth present from uncle Lu, because what else could she get ? She was his beloved only daughter, ugh....
Okay! Maybe I also got those stupidly expensive old magic books and the latest laptop for resarge for my sixteenth birthday, but come on!
A car for a sixteenth birthday? That's such a cliché.
Anyway, as soon as we got out of the car, we immediately noticed all the curious glances and whispers. Besides the fact that we were new, the brunette's car and are appearance certainly didn't help us blend in with the crowd.
What you need to know about Stiles Stilinski and Adelajda Martínez de Hoz is that we have money.
Not in the "Oh my god, look at my latest Prada clothes and Gucci shoes" kind of way, but in the "I know how to dress with good taste" kind of way. Lucas Martínez de Hoz, Adela's father, and my uncle is a big shot in the world of lawyers. Oh! And then we're the part of the Martínez de Hoz family, which comes from old money.
Well, that might be a bigger factor than Uncle Lu's job, but the truth is, neither Adela nor I have to worry about money.Ever.
Which is reflected in our clothes and the way we carry ourselves.
Adela, for example, has a laid-back yet confident, warm aura, like the autumn sun. Her clothing style is a good reflection of this; the clothes she chose always have a certain edge, but they fit her and reflect her warm soul and big, bleeding heart.
Her outfit today, as she herself put it, is to show that she is nice and warm, but with sharp teeth.
Her long, curly chocolate hair is styled in a half-up, half-down, controlled mess with a deep red bow pinned in it all up. She's wearing a large sweater in the same color with a tuck-in front in her short, thigh-length denim skirt, she's also wearing flesh-colored winter tights, even though it's not that cold yet. ("I have the right to wear warm tights when I'm cold, Stiles! and besidws, calling them winter tights is just a suggestion!!!") and her black Mary Jane heels, which were miraculously found under the couch in the living room.
How they got there, no one knows.
Her brown eyelids and slightly reddened lips with lip gloss add to her soft charm, while gold jewelry and a brown leather bag add an elegant finishing touch.
As for me, it seems to me that we have a similar aura, but our clothing style is different.
I like my flannels, t-shirts with silly prints, baggy jeans and converse, which I mix with denim jackets, good quality button-up shirts, crop tops, and fitted jeans.
Like now I'm wearing a fitted white shirt, baggy jeans hanging down my hips, showing a bit of pale skin, and on my feet are my good old red converse, and of course, after the curly-haired brunette gave me "the parent's disappointed look when you want to go to the club in short shorts and a crop top" look, I swapped my flannel for a denim jacket with a red zip-up hoodie underneath.
So, whether we want to or not, we stand out from the rest of the students.
"Let's hope they focus on that and not what we're really trying to hide," I thought. You see, there is one more thing you need to know about us.
We are not human's.
Both of our fathers are human, yes. But our mothers are a completely different story.
Even though Mom and Aunt Caroline were twins, they weren't the same at all. And I don't mean that they didn't look like clones, although that's also true, but that they belonged to two different types of supernatural beings.
My mother, the older of two, was something called a spark. She possessed a type of magic that, unlike druids and witches, wasn't tied to spells or runes but to nature, so you could call it wild magic.
Aunt Caroline, on the other hand, was a shapeshifter.
A shapeshifter is a supernatural creature which is considered an myth.
Funny, isn't it?
Werewolves, vampires, witches, fairies, mermaids, and many others are real and yet they are not, something doesn't add up here, does it?
That's because no one ever paid attention to them. It's easy to miss someone who looks like any other normal person; after all, nothing distinguishes them from ordinary people, right?
Well, not exactly. Shepeshifters have a few distinguishing features when they're not using their superhuman powers. First, their temperature is truly low, comparable to ice. This is because when they take on a new form, their body begins to generate enormous amounts of energy, accelerating the cell death process. In other words, if they had a normal body temperature, they would literally burn from the inside out. This gives us a second clue: their heart is much slower to conserve as much energy as possible when they're not transforming. But what exactly can a Shepeshifter do?
Besides the obvious, there's their so-called black form. Their eyes turn completely black, black veins appear on their face, hands, and entire body, their fingernails turn into small but devastatingly precise claws, and their incisors become longer and sharper, like a vampire's. Their eyes can see something called an "aura" from what Adela tried to explain to me, she sees silhouettes of people but as if they were illuminated, werewolves have a white aura like moonlight, mine glows dark green with golden sparkles, humans have a baby blue, vampires have a blood red, etc etc. this aura leaves temporary marks on everything you touch and wherever you have been.
But just like everything, it has its pros and cons.
Changing their form takes a shepashifter a huge amount of energy, and the lowered temperature makes their immune system a complete joke. Likewise, that whole aura vision thing, with prolonged use, can temporarily blind them or even blind them completely. Moreover, their diet is not very interesting at all.
Like vampires, shapeshifters need blood to survive—not specifically human blood, but still blood. Blood helps them regenerate the strength they lose during transformation and helps them function generally. In other cases, they can even eat an entire werewolf pack in their food.
But what happened that shapeshifters are considered a myth when, as we can see, it's not true at all? Shapeshifters are recluses. They stick to their own business and their own people, never interfering in the affairs of other supernatural beings, which is why the memory of their existence began to be increasingly ignored, until finally, they were relegated to nothing more than a bedtime story to scare naughty children. Which was actually convenient for them, so they did nothing about it and continued to lead their quiet, unremarkable lives.
So yeah, this is the whole story about mysterious shapeshifters, boring right?
But the rule about staying out of the way stuck. That's why we're here now, in this hole in the middle of nowhere. And why, neither I nor Adela have the slightest idea.
But since we're already here, we can at least have a little fun.
"Okay, from what we got in the email, we have to go to the principal's to get our lesson plans and all that nonsense." Adela said as she pushed open the door to the main entrance of the school.
"Adela, relax, this is a new school, not a military training ground." Despite our morning chat, the brunette can't seem to fully relax, which is quite strange because in our duo she's usually the oasis of calm, which makes me start to tense up.
"I know, I know I just..... I-" She stoped and took a deep breath. "I just feel like something is wrong, I don't know what, I don't know why, but I have this weird feeling in the back of my head when something is about to go wrong and I don't know what to expect, which is why I'm starting to go crazy, I'm sorry, I'm-." Her voice break.
"Hey, no. No that's not you're fault. And it's definitely not something you should apologize for." I grabbed her hands "The last few days have been a nightmare of emotions and stress. Everyone's starting to break down, so stop punishing yourself. okey?"
"Yeah, yeah you're right" She shook her head as if she was waking up from a trance. "You're absolutely right. What the fuck? I've been through worse, what am I even worried about?" She laughed, shaking her head in disbelief. I let go of her hand and smiled back.
"That's the spirit, now come one we have reputation to build and people to impress" I wiggle my eyebrows at her and I moved further down the corridor and left.
"The principal's office is the other way!"
"I knew that!"
