Notes:

In this fanfic there may be many spelling and grammar mistakes, since English is not my native language and I barely know how to write and understand English, so an apology in advance.

In this fanfic the LEGO adaptation will be taken as a reference, however, since this adaptation does not cover much of the original story Journey to the West, I will take more adaptations, both animated and written, as a reference.

Without further ado, enjoy reading.

Chapter 1: Wake up

Chapter Text

Liuer, a young adult of 24 years old, was lying on his bed looking at his ceiling, in his hands was a book, the novel “Journey of Broken Hearts” inspired by the famous novel Journey to the West, it was based on the story of Sun Wukong after of the pilgrimage and how he continued to live on Mount Huaguo, there were both original characters and characters already introduced, and Liuer loved the story, how it focused more on feelings than on action, he had already read the book 5 times and never He got bored, every time he read again he picked up more things and he loved that.

He had a certain affection for that book, since his former friend had given it to him, of whom he now no longer knew anything about it, he appreciated it because it arrived at the right time.

Liuer liked to draw the characters in the novel and even though they didn't turn out very well, he was proud of the result. He had spent several hours drawing and reading. Sleep was taking over him the longer he read. He lay down for a moment to He felt comfortable reading more but in the end sleep overcame him and he closed his eyes.

-just a little nap-

∴━━━✿━━━∴

He suddenly felt a headache, he opened his eyes slowly and stretched his arms while yawning, he felt a breeze on his face, he looked around and was startled to see what was not in his room, he looked around observing how he was surrounded by big trees.

He felt confused and afraid, a few minutes ago he was sleeping peacefully in his room and now he was in what seemed like a forest, a small breeze hit his face again, a shiver ran through his body, everything felt very warm but at the same time It was so cold at the time, he looked ahead observing a small something and with some insecurity he approached it.

When he was already on the shore of the lake, he looked at it looking at his reflection, he opened his mouth a little out of impression and shock, it was a monkey, he moved away from the river a little and after a while he came back closer, he had fur jet black and on his face there was a patch with a peach shape but he opened his eyes wider when he noticed the fact that he had six ears.

"...no…no…NO!"

He grabbed his ears tightly as he tried to remove them, causing some pain. Small tears came out of his eyes as he felt a burning sensation in his ears. He felt his claws digging into them in desperation. This is not it could be true.

He lost track of time while he still felt pain in his ears, he didn't know how long he had been there, alone, scared and frustrated.

“...Mihou...Brother...Are you okay?”

A familiar voice spoke behind him, suspiciously he turned back and his gaze met that of another raven-furred monkey. They were silent for a long time until the other person slowly approached.

I couldn't believe what I was experiencing. That monkey he saw in front of him was Liu, Marshal Liu, in the novel he is one of the protagonist's friends and when he becomes king he is appointed by one of his generals for having good skill in battles in closed places, that monkey had called him brother, so there was no doubt that his suspicions were true, he had been reincarnated into Macaque.

Macaque, formerly known as Mihou, is the main villain of the novel. He was previously a close friend of Wukong, who even considered him his brother. Unfortunately, his jealousy became increasingly stronger and more toxic. He started generating insecurities in wukong but after a while he decided to go after the important people in the golden monkey's life, when Wukong returning from his adventure to the celestial kingdom, Wukong learns that Macaque had taken his position as king and that he had murdered several of his loved ones, including Wukong's romantic interest, who, refusing to marry Macaque, is tortured by him to the point of death. death, so Wukong challenges Macaque to a fight, leaving him seriously injured and with one eye blind, for the moments that Wukong and he shared he lets him escape, warning him that next time he would have no mercy with him, Macaque, humiliated by him, decides to start fighting. train his power and in the future returns to cause even more pain to Wukong until the end of the novel, where he dies miserably.

-His destiny is now my destiny-
Liuer thought with some disappointment, of all the characters I must have gotten him the most bastard.

Liuer loved Macaque, he was a well-written villain and even though his reason for becoming a villain was somewhat cliché, the way they had approached his personality and development from beginning to end was really satisfying and even more so when seeing the miserable ending he had.

His thoughts were interrupted by warm arms around him, he returned to reality and watched how his brother hugged him, he squinted as he felt the warm arms around him, he nestled his head on his opponent's shoulder, letting himself be carried away. The comfort he felt at this moment, he watched as Liu looked at him in surprise and then looked at him with a warm smile.

Something he never liked about the character of Macaque was the fact that he was a bastard to everyone, even his own family, from what he remembered from the novel, Macaque was born from a rock, similar to that of Monkey King, However, it caused a big storm and lightning struck, releasing the monkey from its pressure, a small baby monkey that could barely crawl, Macaque spent hours alone and when his hunger woke up he started to cry, at that moment a female appeared. bush and found the little boy alone and upon noticing how similar he was to her deceased husband, she decided to take him in and take care of him as if he were her son.Unfortunately, Mihou always showed negative attitudes towards his loved ones, from when he was a puppy until adulthood. Originally Mihou treated his brother Liu very badly with the excuse that everything was a game, a simple brother's game, Liu never did anything about it because he loved his brother, he couldn't hurt him, even at the end where Macaque dies Liu leaves from the palace where his brother was being punished, because even knowing what he did he refused to see his Mihou as a disgusting and evil being.

Surely Liu thought she was going to push him or yell at him to get away from him, but he wasn't Mihou, it was Liuer and Liuer always felt bad when reading how Liu suffered from the consequences of having Macaque as a brother. He was not Macaque, so his first move in this new life was to make his brother happy.

Judging from his appearance, Liu looked like a puppy, he wasn't small enough to be a baby but he wasn't big enough to be a teenager either, so they were at least one or two years away from being teenagers, which meant that At this stage he would meet his best friend and murderer, Wukong, but if he had already appeared, it was something that he could not be sure of being true, since he had barely gotten up and was already having some crises, in addition to the fact that at this time It was very difficult to know the day, month and year exactly.

He let out a sigh and then completely closed his eyes, letting himself be carried away by his dream again. A few pats on his back made him slowly open his eyes. He knew what it meant. In the novel, Liu always patted Mihou to indicate that it was time. Going home, he raised his head from his brother's shoulder as he wiped the small tears from his eyes.

“Come on, mom is going to be very angry if she sees that we are not asleep” Liu finally spoke with a tone of amusement, he grabbed Mihou's hand and they walked towards the forest in search of their home.

—His destiny is now mine, but being mine does not mean that it will be the same as his—

Liuer Mihou thought and then simply kept pace with her brother, she knew that she did not have to stress too much right now, because her mind was not the same. herself and that was going to affect her new body, tomorrow would be a new day and she would have much more time to analyze.

Chapter 2: Routine

Summary:

Liuer can get used to a routine but not to the environment that surrounds him

Notes:

Sorry for taking so long, a lot of things happened while I was writing the chapter, plus I'm trying to put together all the ideas I'm having for this fanfic.

There will be some invented characters, since not much is said about these monkeys in the adaptations I have seen.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

—This is definitely not a dream—

Was Liuer's first thought when she woke up, she thought she was in one of those dreams where everything feels so real, like you dream that you are falling and it is not until you touch the ground that you get up, pitifully. this was not the case.

He began to recap everything that happened in the short period of time but he had no idea how he got there, he was just supposed to take a nap and then get up and go back to his studies for about 4 minutes and then he was going to go back to school. take his well-deserved 4-hour break reading, but no, now he was inside his favorite novel like a villain, how did he get there? Not the slightest idea, he had no clue as to how he got there or why he was precisely reincarnated in that novel. First of all, was he even dead? Because of the few comics and books he read that had to do with reincarnation, you had to be dead for that, but he had taken a nap, he basically wasn't dead, the last time he went to the doctor. He only recommended sleeping more and trying to do everything on time so as not to suffer stress when doing his homework at the last minute.

He was just tired, you can't die of tiredness...or yes?

Now he had more questions than answers, it was difficult not to feel a headache with everything that was happening, he knew he shouldn't stress out thinking about this too much, he was still a puppy and any sudden changes he had could negatively affect him, after all It was a monkey, although humans are quite similar to humans, its body and mind worked in a different way, so different and so the same, there was never any news about a monkey suffering from stress or having problems due to how it manages its emotions or at least That in the world where I was previously, this was a world where there were celestial beings and demons that could be considered anthropomorphic animals so it was difficult to know how humans and animals were psychologically equal.

A snore brought him out of his thoughts, he turned towards where the noise was coming from and saw Liu, that monkey was lying in a position that seemed uncomfortable and on his back, after returning to 'his home', a small cave with some decoration, They just went to sleep. They were monkeys but that doesn't mean they were stupid, they had their own civilization, their own clan, and although it was not as advanced as that of the other demons, it was relatively functional.

Liuer gave a sigh, there were so many things to think about and so little desire to look for an answer, he simply didn't feel like trying to understand what was happening, not because he didn't want to but because of the simple fact of feeling tired and weak, he must be a possible side effect.

With some annoyance he slowly stood up, taking a few small steps back and forth making sure his balance was okay. He looked around while he stretched, letting out a yawn, he looked around again noticing how there was someone else there, a little further into the cave was An, Macaque's adoptive mother, she was a Hylobatidae, a gibbon monkey, she had The fur was dark and he was almost sure they were the same size.

An, she was a character that did not have much relevance, in the clan she was known for being a loving mother and one of the few widows there were. In the novel An does not appear much, she was only seen together with her two children, giving them advice, telling them how proud she was of them, encouraging them in their training, pampering them and on some occasions the scoldings she gave to both brothers were narrated. In addition, she was one of the few characters that Macaque treated with respect, love and affection.

Liuer watched as the gibbon monkey yawned and rubbed his eyes a little, his eyes connecting with hers and then being greeted with a warm smile.

“Good morning Bǎozàng”

Liuer only smiled slightly as he waved his hand timidly, it still seemed strange to him to talk to monkeys and basically be one, he watched as An got up from his place to go towards a tree near the cave where he was, Apparently it was time for breakfast

∴━━━✿━━━∴

Macaco's routine is easier to follow than Liuer thought.

First they had a few fruits for breakfast, usually bananas and grapes. While they were eating, their 'mother' carefully groomed their fur while telling them how very handsome they looked. When they finished After having breakfast and getting ready they simply put on their clothes, which were simple fabrics or old clothes from some explorer, Liu wore a navy blue cloth from her waist covering only her bottom, while Mihou wore a pink garment covering most of her body, after some extra arrangements by An, the brothers simply followed their mother towards the village.

Liuer looked around in wonder at the town where he was, Mount Huaguo or mostly known as Fruit and Flower Mountain, it was vaguely described in the novel as a beautiful and colorful place, observing it in person was better than just reading about it, in There were some hanging houses in the trees, where I could see that some of them were connected by hanging bridges, I could see how they moved, assuming that above them there were some monkeys playing or just passing by, when I observed where I was, I saw some incomplete structures, in In one of them you could see some monkeys 'fighting', possibly they were just training, because even though it was a quiet village you never knew what threat could appear, in others there were simply monkeys sitting talking and others simply eating quietly, everything was so peaceful to observe

“Mihou”

He jumped a little when he heard what was now his name

He looked at his brother, who seemed to be a little uncomfortable, confused. Mihou looked at his surroundings again, observing how some monkeys, both adults and children, stared at him 'oh' True, his ears, for many his ears were beautiful but it was more than obvious that for monkeys it was something very rare, it was not normal, it was not natural.

Being aware of this Mihou began to hear whispers judging his appearance, his ears, a few seconds later he could only hear the loudest but incomprehensible murmurs to understand, he looked to the sides nervously, seeing how every glance was directed at him.

A tug on his clothes made him react,he blinked for a few seconds and then looked at his brother again. He felt how he carefully grabbed his hand, giving him a warm smile, this calmed him, he looked towards where his mother should be, finding her talking to others. mothers, her gaze returned to Liu and she smiled back, both children went to a tree where they simply began to play and laugh. While they were doing it, Mihou felt a pain in his head and when he turned around he saw how a rock had hit him, he looked around and found the culprit of this, a white-furred monkey with a purple cloth covering his waist to his knees, Liuer quickly recognized who he was, Baihu, a secondary character in the novel and Macaco's first victim. The monkey simply showed him his tongue and laughed loudly. Mihou watched him leave in confusion, grabbing his ears with some insecurity.

A scream rang in his ears as he saw how the white-furred monkey complained of pain while rubbing his head. He felt a hand grab him and pull him, making him climb the tree, where he could see Liu with a mocking face looking like Baihu was leaving furious, he turned to look at Mihou and offered her half of the banana he was eating.

“Don't pay attention to him, that idiot has more hair than brains”

He spoke mockingly as he watched Mihou grab half of the banana. Mihou just laughed shyly as she took a bite of the banana, trying to forget the bad taste in her mouth because of what she had just experienced.

Liuer Mihou could get used to the routine but not the environment.
