KyoGin Week 2024 – Day 5: Rainy day / (Movie/Media)

The title is SO original XD

Work Text:

Ginga was pouring himself a coffee in the kitchen when thunder rumbled, so close that the windows vibrated and he felt it in his bones. He walked to the window and looked out. The sky was grey and cloudy, but–

The clouds opened and a real shower poured on the ground. Alright. Ginga hadn't said anything. He was very happy to not have finished his thought.
The weather forecast didn't predict that.

Ginga could remain in their apartment, enjoying being inside, warm and dry, while the storm raged outside.

He could.

But Kyouya wasn't home.

"The thing I'll do for him."

Ginga walked quietly in the rain. Hurrying would be useless: he'd never be fast enough to avoid raindrops and his destination was so far away... He had walked in rainfalls. He had trained in rainfalls. He had lived in Koma. He had spent winters in Koma. Nothing could scare him.

Especially since the temperatures were pleasant, high enough that he didn't worry about catching a cold.

He walked until he left the city behind, following a path he had travelled several times in the recent years. He reached a canyon. He took a moment to admire it. It looked even more impressive and lonely, with heavy grey clouds overhanging it. The rain mingled with the wind in a deafening cacophony.

Ginga followed a downward ridge. He thought he knew where Kyouya was. It was a gamble, but the Wolf Canyon didn't have many shelters. He was more likely to be right than wrong.

He stopped at the entrance of a cave. A burst of joy exploded in his chest when he realized he had been right.

"Hi!"

Kyouya looked up with surprise, his eyes magnificent despite the darkness. He was sitting at the bottom of the cave, wrapped in his cloak. The surprise softened his face, making his eyes bigger, erasing the wrinkles on his forehead and around mouth.

"What are you doing here?"

Ginga smiled.

"I have come to see you, Obviously." He raised his cooler "And to bring you some food."

"Are you stupid or what? You'll catch death."

Ginga laughed. Kyouya frowned, his default expression.

"It's not funny."

Ginga shrugged his concern away. "I've seen worse."

"That's not a reason. Get rid of your jacket and your scarf."

Ginga obeyed, laughing more. He displayed his sash and jacket in a corner of the cave. Kyouya wrinkled his nose.

"The shirt too."

Ginga eyerolled but he obeyed. "I wanted to see you."

Kyouya answered by an annoyed sound. He took off his cloak and wrapped it around Ginga's shoulders. He adjusted it behind his neck. Ginga held it, smiling softly. He leaned forward and laid his forehead on Kyouya's shoulder.

"Thanks."

Kyouya shrugged. "What have you brought to eat?"

"What do you think I brought?"

Kyouya opened the cooler on burgers. He gave a stare at Ginga.

"We must support our friends' jobs. That's what you're always saying."

"I'm pretty sure I never said 'friends'," Kyouya muttered, dividing the burgers between them.

They ate their meal, shoulder to shoulder, watching the rain fall in the Wolf Canyon.
