Chapter Text
As Nana arrived at the island, she could already hear all of the voices in her head. This was going to be exhausting and she knew it. Oh well.. If you wanna save the Talented by being an undercover spy for the government, you better be prepared for some noise.
Nana was in no way a "good" person. Honestly, If she could, she would've killed the horrid man who actually murdered her parents that night, she'd kill him without a second thought. But she was too young and weak at the time. Not to mention the disadvantage... So, back to her original plan, save as many Talents as possible. Or, try to.
The good thing was, no one knew she could read minds. Her parents just thought she was a kid being a kid, The government figured she could be used as another tool to get rid of the Talented. In hindsight, it was a good plan. A poor traumatized girl ready to be trained to take 'revenge' on the race of the killer who killed her parents? Brilliant. Too bad she was a Talent. One who figured out the truth, one they wanted to use to eliminate the others.
"Hello, everyone! Settle down, we've got two new transfer students!" Nana listened to the government-issued teacher drone on with their introductions. Turns out she's not the only transfer. The pinkette looked around, steadily gaining a headache from all the noise inside her head. "Hello, Everyone! It's nice to meet you! I am Hiiragi Nana!" Nana listened to the voices forcing their way into her head.
Ooh, new people! Heh. Fresh meat.. The boy looks so handsome... What a cute girl!
Nana repressed the small smile threatening to form on her lips at the last comment. Sure, she was trained to be a stone-cold killer, but she was still only human... And she didn't get praise all that often. But the next thing she heard from the teacher quickly erased all and any pleasant emotions inside her.
Let's hope this girl can get rid of these freaks quickly.
Maybe I should kill you instead. Nana quickly shook the thought out of her head. There'd be no point. They'll just send another guy out anyway. Nana looked around, realizing there was a question that everyone was asking in their minds. She tilted her head innocently. "Everyone, you seem to have a question, so I'll answer that first. I can read people's minds." It was easier to just tell the truth instead of making up a lie that she might not be able to keep up with.
Everyone soon started thinking of so many things at once. Luckily, Nana already learned from a young age how to tune it out into background noise. To lighten the mood, Nana made a little quip. "However.. I can't really read the air, so please take care of me!" Everyone then made an "Eh!?" sound and the lie seemed to have worked.
"Hiiragi's seat will be.." The teacher pointed towards a seat next to a boy with cyan hair. Nana could hear him freaking out internally. No way!? Such a cute girl next to me is..! The pinkette smiled and took the seat next to him. She could tell quite a lot about him, even if she hadn't had a talent. A scratch on his neck indicated he took care of a cat. Reading his mind, she knew he was bullied. Speaking of..
"Hey, Nana-chan! Did you know Nakajima is an enemy against mankind? It's cause he's Talentless!" A boy laughed alongside two boys who trailed behind him. How annoying.. Nana feigned ignorance. "Eh? But isn't an enemy against mankind more like this?" She held up a book made for misinforming the students, then pointed to a monster in one of the pages.
Nakajima lit up and started rambling about all the other types of monsters. It was all fake propaganda of course, but it was nice seeing him smile. That was disrupted quickly when Mogou, a name that Nana picked up on using her talent, slammed Nakajima's head into his desk. Nana felt a bit of distaste for the treatment, just what gave him the right to do that to Nakajima? Because he seemed to not have a talent?
"Mogou-san! Stop! You're hurting Nakajima-kun!" Nana shouted out. She didn't actually care that much about what was happening, but she had a persona to fulfill. She wasn't that surprised when she found out his motives. I want Nana-chan to date me... Gross.. As if she'd fall for someone who put others down for their own sake. She was sure she'd never fall in love with anyone, ever.
"Also, I know you're only using him to ask me out on a date! But I'm not interested!" Nana pointed out, leaving everyone staring at Mogou. It wasn't even a lie, she truly wasn't interested. Maybe she was even a bit disgusted. But the snickers coming from people in the room were amusing.
"What!? No- I wasn't thinking about that at all! I.. Maybe a little.." He scratched at his head looking embarrassed. serves him right.. Nana heard a more prominent voice.. It was coming from Nakajima. Interesting... Nana thought.. Maybe she should spend some more time with Nakajima, to find out what made him tick.
Well, Shit. Nana reviewed the situation again. She was currently tied up against a tree, 'Mogou-san' was standing in front of her ready to burn her like a witch at the stake, and Nakajima was bleeding out beside her.
How am I supposed to get out of this one? No scratch that. How am I supposed to convince this fucker to save Nakajima?
