Out the Window

Summary:

Dib stayed with Zib. Why? Even he doesn't know.

Work Text:

The smokiness of a cigarette hit his throat, unfortunately familiar to his taste buds.

Zib’s hand kept a hold of Dib’s face, forcing his double to stay in the kiss, even if he didn’t want to. It wasn’t until a few seconds later until Dib pulled away grimacing. He heard the shorter scoff before turning away, pulling his cigarette to his lips and taking a drag.

He watched as Zib blew it out an open window. He pretended not to notice the small sigh that came from the other.

Part of Dib wanted to do something for Zib, to stop him, or just leave. But no.

He stayed.

Maybe it was guilt about everything that happened in the Zimvoid, maybe it was something else. He didn’t stop Zib, but he stayed. That had to account for something.

Another firm grip on his face made him flinch as the other brought him into a second kiss. This time, he could feel his mouth filling with smoke. Dib quickly pushed Zib away, coughing and hacking, while Zib merely snickered.

Dib could hear him mutter something under his breath, but he couldn’t make out the words. Probably something snarky, a quip; Or maybe something about Dib leaving him behind back then.

Zib kept blowing smoke out the window, putting the remains of his cig out on his ashtray.

Whatever. It’s not like he could change anything.

Not now.
