Chapter Text
"Today, a new member will be joining the team." Batman spoke monotonously as he stared at Young Justice.
"Ooh ooh, is it Roy?" Wally questioned whilst jumping up and down in excitement.
"No."
"Aww man." Artemis muttered a quiet 'good' but Wally heard and instantly stuck his tongue out at the girl. She scoffed before rolling her eyes whilst crossing her toned arms over her chest.
"Leora Enzo B-1-5. Evelyn Enzo D-2-5." The portal called out as a yellow light began to flash revealing two figures. One was an older woman who wore a fitting, black leather jumpsuit in which a black belt was clasped around her waist, holding multiple different weapons. Her thick, blonde hair was tied in a high ponytail whilst some baby hairs decorated her face. She had a pair of ocean eyes that seemed to be as clear as ice. Although she was stunning and alluring, her daughter was the complete opposite to her.
The young girl seemed to be around the age of 13 or 14. She wore a similar skin tight leather jumpsuit, her belt carrying multiple daggers which rested along her waist. Unlike her mother's blonde hair, her hair was jet black and pulled into two dutch braids that rested along her shoulders. She had dark brown doe eyes that were close to a shade of black, completely the opposite to her mother's cyan orbs. Her mother stood tall with a height of 5ft 9 inches whilst her daughter was roughly around 5ft 4 inches.
"Good morning everyone. I am Leora Enzo and this is my daughter, Evelyn Enzo."
"Evelyn will be joining the team." Batman replied briefly whilst ordering the rest of the members to make her feel welcome before waking away with Evelyn's mother, leaving the young girl by herself.
"How old are you?" Wally immediately asked as he eyed the girl from head to toe with a sly smirk plastered on his lips.
"Don't be such a pervert, perv." Artemis smacked his arm earning a low grunt from him.
"I'm not a pervert."
"Yeah right. Says the one who just eyed the new girl."
During their bickering, Robin had made his way towards the new member of the team, a small smile resting on his lips.
"Hey. I'm Robin." The girl instantly smiled as he introduced himself whilst pushing his right hand out, awaiting for her own to meet his in a handshake.
"Evelyn but you already knew that." She let out a chuckle as she shook his hand. The new heroine couldn't help but note how strong and firm his grip was or the fact that their hands molded perfectly together. Retracting her hand from his, she couldn't help but feel the immediate lack of warmth in her palm making her sulk lightly.
"Oh my God, you're so tiny and cute." A girl with lime green skin circled around Evelyn as she scanned the new team member in awe and fascination.
"It's about time we got more female members on the team." The red head stated as she gawked at the new girl through her hazel orbs.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" The masked hero questioned the taller girl as she squinted her eyes in thought. Immediately, her hand met her forehead in a light slap.
"Hello Megan, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Meggan but you can call me Megan."
"Nice to meet you Megan." Instead of a handshake Evelyn was expecting, she was pulled into a tight embrace by the green coloured girl. The girl in braids couldn't help but let out a light chuckle before embracing Megan in her own arms. Once they pulled away from each other, a muscular male made his way next to the red head. Evelyn couldn't help but be impressed by his physique which consisted of broad shoulders and a robust chest. He was the complete opposite of the stick Robin was which made her giggle in her mind.
"Hello, I am Kaldur'ahm from Atlantis and the leader of this team until Robin is old enough to lead Young Justice." The girl nodded before shaking his hand.
"This is Connor Kent and the two who are making a first bad impression are Artemis and Wally." Once those words slipped out of the leader's mouth, the blonde girl and the ginger boy halted their argument before facing the new girl.
"Hey! I'm not making a first bad impression." The freckled boy argued as he crossed his arms over his sturdy chest.
"Yeah right. You made a bad impression when you eyed the new girl pedo." Artemis scoffed as she threw a side glare at the male. Within an instant, their bickering had began once again causing Evelyn to snicker at the sight.
"Are those two dating?" She asked Robin as both of them continued to watch the two squabbling with each other.
"No but I'm pretty sure Wally is in denial and wants her but won't admit it."
"I definitely do not want her!" Wally retorted as he overheard the younger one's discussion.
"And you won't have me." Artemis replied back before marching away from the ginger boy, making her way towards the rest of the team.
"Oh please. I could bag you in the bag if I wanted to." The freckled boy disputed as he let out a huff of frustration. Before the blonde girl could reply back, Kaldur'ahm intruded.
"I think it's time for the tour."
"Of course. Here let's first head to the kitchen. I made some fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies earlier." Megan spoke in excitement as she began to lead the way whilst hovering in the air. A chuckle erupted from Evelyn as she and the others trailed behind the floating girl.
"Here, have some." The green skinned girl pushed out a plate full of chocolate chip cookies at the team members, awaiting for them to engulf the scrumptious dessert. Wally wasted no time in grabbing a few before shoving them down his throat.
"Pig." The blond girl rolled her eyes at the ginger boy before grabbing a biscuit herself.
"I'm nwat a pighg!" The freckled boy exclaimed through a mouth full, whilst spitting out a few crumbs of cookies. The boy in the Superman logo let out a little snicker as he chewed on the delectable. Evelyn was already on her second biscuit when Artemis spoke up.
"Why don't we head to the training room?" Everyone nodded, heading in the direction the girl in braids assumed to be the training room. Feeling a nudge at the side of her elbow, Evelyn looked to her side, only for her dark orbs to be met with masked orbs. Robin's masked orbs.
"Got some moves you wanna share with the team?" The scrawny boy whispered with a smile full of glee and mischief.
"I have some moves. Moves I think you wouldn't mind." The boy could feel his cheeks flaring to a pink hue as he registered the new girl's words.
She just flirted. Flirted with me.
"Well, I can't wait to see them." Robin replied back, watching attentively how Evelyn's cheeks were cascaded with a light saturation of red, making her look adorable to the boy's eyes.
"And here is the training room." Aqualad declared as everyone, especially the new member gawked at the room. It was a spacious room with grey walls, where in the centre of the room, a large mat rested on the concrete floor. The thick mat was a navy blue, contrasting to the dull colours of the room making it stand out.
"Hello Megan, we should have a sparring session with Evelyn." The green skinned girl spoke up whilst a grin crept on her lips.
"Dibs me against Evelyn." The freckled boy raised his hand up as he awaited for the new girl to respond to his words but before she could Artemis interrupted.
"How about you and me?" Immediately a soft shade of crimson red decorated Wally's freckled cheeks making him shake his head in disbelief whilst pushing his ginger hair back with the palm of his hand.
"Of course. I wouldn't mind an easy victory." The boy spoke up arrogantly before immediately dodging one of Artemis's punches she hurled at his face.
"Hey! Watch the face! It's my charm." Wiggling his eyebrows at the girl, he continued dodging multiple kicks and punches the blonde kept launching at with full force and capacity.
"What charm?" Artemis scoffed as she continued to aim for his pearly white teeth.
"Should we go? It seems like they're having a moment." Evelyn spoke quietly as she gaped at the two brawling.
"Their moment will soon pass." The dark skinned leader replied as he studied the two flinging and propelling punches and kicks at each other.
"And I wanna see if they're finally going to kiss." Megan exclaimed in sheer excitement as she eyed the pair with adoration and glee, awaiting for them to finally have a romantic encounter.
"I doubt they're going to. Wally is stubborn and Artemis, well she's Artemis." Robin bursted the martian's bubble earning a scowl from her.
"Relax Megan, I'm sure they'll end up together. Eventually." Connor reassured the green skinned girl whilst rubbing her back soothingly.
I guess they're a couple too.
A loud thud echoed through the training room, gaining the attention of the rest of the team whose faces were contorted in utter surprise and revelation.
Artemis was currently sitting on Wally's hips, her legs rested on each side of his hips. Straddling him, she pushed her arm against the ginger's neck preventing him from being able to intake a healthy amount of oxygen he was able to a few minutes prior.
"If you wanted to straddle me, you could've asked." Wally coughed out as he felt her arm suffocating his oesophagus. In a blink of an eye, their positions were switched. Now the freckled boy was hovering over the blonde girl, inhaling deep breaths as he remained in eye contact with the girl beneath him. One of his knees was placed in between her own legs whilst the other rested against her outer thigh. Wally couldn't help but feel as if he were in a trance as he glimpsed at her face. His palms rested on each side of her face on the floor, making it difficult for her to escape from his grip.
"I bet you've dreamed of this Artemis. Me hovering over you. Our faces, inches away." Instantly the girl rolled her chocolate orbs before mumbling a 'in your dreams'. Before Wally could retort back, a blaring cough from Aqualad interrupted the two.
"Ahem, if you two are finished, I would like Robin and Evelyn to spar with each other. I would like to see what she is capable of." Artemis sensed how the freckled boy was off guard and promptly thrusted her knee at his groin before shoving him off her. The boy groaned in agony and despair as he clutched his manhood.
"My balls! Ahh I don't think I'll ever have kids!" Wally screeched out dramatically earning a chortle from the team.
"Relax. Your balls are fine." Artemis stated nonchalantly as she made her way towards the others, ignoring a few curses that left the ginger's mouth as he too limped towards the team.
"Robin and Evelyn, you're up." The new girl sauntered warily towards the mat as she faced the scrawny boy.
"What? Scared?" A smirk crept on Robin's lips as he watched worry radiating off the braided girl's face as she got ready in a fighting stance. In a blink of an eye, her previous anxiousness and nerves were replaced with a smug smile as she began circling around the lean boy.
"For you. I don't know about you but I think I'll win this easily." The girl stated cockily as she continued to circle around Robin.
"I don't think so." Abruptly the masked boy launched his fist at the girl who swiftly dodged it before hurling a side kick at his abdomen. To her displeasure, Robin had caught her leg but before he could do anything, Evelyn jumped on her standing leg and spun her body in the air. In doing so, the leg she jumped in the air with met Robin's face in a strong strike causing the latter to release his hold on her other leg. Her hands met the concrete floor, pushing against it with all her might as she backflipped, landing on her feet. A groan erupted from the scrawny boy's lips as he held his jaw, trying to relieve the soaring pain which seemed to be unable to disappear.
"You good Robin Hood?" Evelyn smirked at him as she began to avoid his jabs that he started thrusting at her repeatedly.
"Never been better." He spat out.
"Ooh, seems like I hit a nerve." She cooed as she continued to slip past his blows, earning a growl to escape his lips. Suddenly, Evelyn was met by a rugged kick to her abdomen, making her take a few steps backs.
"Nice one birdie." The braided girl chuckled as she got back into her fighting stance.
"Birdie?" Robin began avoiding her rapid swings which had led the two sparring off the mat, allowing the boy to kick her into the wall, swiftly pinning the new girl against it. His right arm was pressed against her neck whilst the other rested at the side of her face. The girl couldn't help but feel his knee brush against her clothed groin.
"Your name is Robin, like the bird." She breathed out deeply as she tried regaining her normal breathing.
"So I'm Birdie now?" The boy arched an eyebrow at her whilst a smirk painted across his face.
"Took the words right out of my mouth." In an instant, the girl snuck her ankle around his own causing him to fall on his side. Meeting the solid floor, the girl speedily straddled his slim waist before gripping onto both his arms which were now pressed against the black floor by each side of his face. A silent staring contest began between the two 13 year olds. Robin couldn't help but beam at the sight of Evelyn's own victorious grin.
"You'll fit right in."
"I hope so." Her triumphant smile was now replaced with a cheshire grin causing the boy to flush at her words that held double meaning.
"Why was that kinda hot?" Wally voiced out his thoughts earning a jab from Artemis's elbow.
"Stop hurting me!"
Unbeknownst to Young Justice, this was the beginning of new friendships, love and sorrowfully a few deaths they would have never imagined they would face.
"Welcome to the team Evelyn."

I'm so happy I finally started writing my Nightwing FF cause I've been dying to. I thought I wouldn't start until after I finish my Chat Noir FF but that's gonna take a while. I'm not 100% sure when I will be updating this story, probably not as regularly as Black Beauty since I can't write 2 things at once. But hopefully I will still update this story at least once every 2 weeks or so, maybe even earlier so fingers crossed.
I know the prologue mainly has Artemis x Wally scenes but that's because I love the two so much and I'm still not over Wally's death. The writers didn't have to kill him off yet they did. I'll never forgive them 😔.
The story may also take a while for me to write just because I haven't completed all of Young Justice and so far have ideas based on season 1 and 2. I'm on season 3 and let me just say so far episode 4 is my favorite. I loved how Dick and all the Harper's were doing the security job. It was so funny.
My story isn't completely based on what happens in the cartoon but there are some things that I wanna add that do happen in the cartoon.
