Chapter Text
Macaque woke up to the feeling of a hand running through his fur gently. He opened his eyes to see Wukong laying on his chest, looking at him with a soft expression.
“Morning Peach, you sleep at all last night?” Macaque asked when he had the energy to start speaking. Wukong just hummed at him, which probably meant he hadn’t slept at all. Macaque sighed and wrapped an arm around Wukong’s waist and sat up in the bed.
“You should really get some rest, dumb-dumb” Macaque said softly, pressing a kiss on Wukong’s head.
Wukong sort of just whined and hid his face in Macaque’s chest.
“I’m not tired.” He mumbled into Macaque’s shirt. This was obviously, a lie, but Macaque knew Wukong was too stubborn to ever admit he was tired.
“Well I am, I think I’ll sleep in today. Care to join me Gemstone?” Macaque whispered, pressing small kisses into Wukong’s hair. He had to hold back a laugh when Wukong’s tail started thumping up and down from under the covers.
“Hmph, maybe” Wukong mumbled into Macaque’s chest. Macaque smiled and pressed another kiss onto Wukong’s forehead. He moved his free hand to brush through Wukong’s fur with his fingers, when he did Wukong pressed himself closer against Macaque and started purring. Macaque quietly snickered which earned him a muffled, “shut up”
Macaque continued to run his fingers through Wukong’s orange fur until his purrs slowly faded out as he fell asleep.
Macaque smiled softly at his sleeping partner, and eventually drifted off to sleep thanks to the comforting weight and warmth Wukong provided.
