Chapter Text
"Sappy?" Dream sniffled from the doorway. The Texan frowned as he was woken up and turned on his bedside table. Dream squinted his eyes against the bright light as he stood there. Cheeks stained with tears, eyes red, and nose still a little sniffly. His stuffie hugged close to his chest.
"Hey, Dream, what's up?" Sapnap said as he sat up, exhaustion felt like it would drag him back into bed but he knew something was wrong and it made him more alert. The blond sniffled as he shuffled farther into the room and climbed into bed. Sapnap didn't say anything or stop him, just watched Dream get into his bed and curl up under the blankets. He shifted until he was pressed against Sapnap's side. The other smiled a little as he turned off the light and laid back down. He wrapped his arm around Dream and pulled him close. The skeleton onesie the blond wore felt so softy as Sapnap ran his hand of the others side before he closed his eyes. He knew asking Dream what was wrong would be useless since the other hasn’t already told him. He sighed softly as he fell back asleep.
When he woke up on the morning the space next to him was empty but still warm. He yawned as he slowly got out of bed and went to the bathroom. He noticed Dream's onesie on the ground and picked it up. He tossed it in the laundry basket before doing his morning routine. It didn't take him long and then he headed down stairs. He smelled something good coming from the kitchen and smiled when he saw Dream dressed in his clothes making bacon pancakes since it was one of his safe foods at the moment. That's what he got for letting Dream watch Adventure Time nonstop for days at a time. He enjoyed the show and seeing his friend happy so it didn’t bother him at all.
"Good morning." Sapnap said and Dream waved and gave a little smile before going back to making breakfast. He pointed at the plate he wanted Sapnap to have. The brunette smiled and took the plate before he sat down on the couch. Dream sat next to him and turned on the tv. Of course he put on Adventure Time and smiled to himself as he ate. Sapnap's phone went off so he checked it. "George said his visa got approved!" Sapnap said happily as he read.
"Really?" Dream asked, still looking surprised from Sapnap's outburst.
"Yeah, he said he can get on the next flight tonight and he'll be here tomorrow afternoon." Sapnap said as he read the other text George sent.
"Discord call." Dream said simply and Sapnap nodded as they went to their office. Dream booted up his computer. He called and Sapnap pulled up a chair.
"Hey, Dream." George instantly answered, sounding chipper.
"Hi." Dream said as he looked at Sapnap.
"Hey, dude, so you'll be here tomorrow afternoon?" Sapnap said and George confirmed he just got his plane ticket. Dream felt nervous as he listened to them talk. He enjoyed talking to George. The Brit was funny, kind, super nice to him, and always listened to him talk about his favorite things. He was just worried he wouldn't meet George's expectations in person. He wasn't much of a talker in real life. Over chat and in videos he would talk but talking any other time wasn't his thing. He liked to listen and he could always give a thumbs up or a shake of his head if he needed to express what he was thinking.
"I'm so excited. I started packing. Will you guys come pick me up from the airport when I land? If not I can Uber." George said.
"We'll come get you, dude." Sapnap chuckled. "Can't have our Brit get taken by some Americans." He joked as George laughed and rolled his eyes.
"Thanks, I appreciate it. I have some gifts for you two. I hope you like them." George said and Sapnap tried to get him to tell them what he had gotten but the Brit was sticking firm and wasn't going to spoil the surprises. George eventually let them go and Sapnap leaned back in his chair.
"This is gonna be fun. His room has been set up for ages. Maybe I should go dust it." Sapnap said mostly to himself.
Dream stood and wondered off, finding himself in George's soon to be room. He cleaned up and made sure everything was in order before Sapnap could get to it. By the time he was done everything was spotless. Sapnap knew Dream would stress clean so when he heard the other one leaving George's room he left the office.
"Hey, wanna talk about some stuff?" Sapnap asked. Dream paused for a second before going over to the brunette. "Are you okay?"
Dream shrugged. He was in fact not fully okay. He was scared George would hate him, the house, the room Dream spent weeks setting up to make perfect for him. There was so many things that Dream could think of that made him anxious. He couldn't list them all out to Sapnap and he shrugged again, visibly getting tense.
"I know." Sapnap soothed as he held his arms open. Dream took the three steps between them and burrowed himself into Sapnap's chest. He knew the other would be there to help but change was scary. He didn't want any of the bad thoughts to come true. George was his best friend, so was Sapnap. Having everything go well was what he really wanted. Getting to that point would be the hard part. "I'll make Mac and cheese for lunch and then we can watch your favorite movies. That'll help."
"What if... George doesn't like it here?" Dream mumbled into Sapnap's chest. The Texan petted his head to calm him down.
"He's gonna love it here, Dream. It'll all be okay. We know George and I know for a fact all of this will work out." Sapnap assured. Dream nodded, he trusted Sapnap so he just hoped the other was right.
"Can we watch the movies now?" Dream asked as he pulled away.
"Of course. Get them set up and I'll get the snacks." Sapnap said. Dream looked excited and Sapnap felt bad for shutting him down.
"No candy." Sapnap reminded.
"But-" Dream began but stopped when Sapnap held his hand up to stop him. The blond pouted but didn't try to argue and went to the living room. He cleaned up their breakfast and then turned on the movie he wanted to watch first.
Sapnap came back moments later with some snacks, mainly fruit or vegetable based. He set them out and Dream took an apple slice to nibble on as he scooted closer to Sapnap until he was pressed against the others side. Sapnap held him close as they watched, enjoying spending time with Dream. The movies and snacks seemed to help the blond calm down and not focus on all his stress at least.

"Sapnap!" George said excitedly and ran up to his friend while lugging his bags along with him.
"Goggy!" Sapnap said back and hugged George before pulling away. "Dude, you're finally here. This is sick."
"Yeah, this is awesome. Where's Dream?" George asked as he looked around them.
"He's at home. He wanted to be there when the pizza got there. Oh shit, that was supposed to be a surprise." Sapnap said.
"Oh." George mumbled, disappointed that Dream didn't come get him too. He was still happy to see Sapnap at least. He also wondered if anyone around them could actually be Dream since he didn't know what the other looked like. But when he didn't see any blonds near them he figured Dream wasn't there after all.
Sapnap and George talked about their new projects and how awesome it was to have George finally moving in. The rest of his stuff would get there in a week or two but from what it sounded like his room was fully set up with things Dream had picked out. Sapnap knew it was also supposed to be a surprise but he couldn't hold it in now that George was actually in front of him. They got to the house after sitting in some very annoying traffic. They got out of the car and went inside the house. The place definitely smelled like pizza so George followed the scent until he was in their kitchen where he spotted Dream eating a breadstick as he absentmindedly scrolled Twitter.
"Dream?" George said and Dream flinched, looking panicked as he set his food down.
"George?" He said back and then looked at Sapnap who had forgotten to text Dream when they would be back after Sapnap took George to 7/11 for some slushies and other American foods. George wanted to try everything at once.
"Dream. Hey, it's good to see you, finally." George winked at the last part making Dream's go pink. Dream smiled shyly now as he watched George come up to him. The Brit held his arms out and Dream shuffled forward until he was in arms reach before tripping over his own feet and fell right into George's chest. The Brit chuckled lightly as Dream mentally cured to himself for being so embarrassing.
"I'm sorry." Dream mumbled and tried to pull away but George just held onto him and patted his back.
"It's really good to see you, Dream. Really." George said, almost like he was trying to tell him something. The blond nodded and once they were apart George really got a look at Dream. He thought the blond would be taller but he was probably around 5'9". George on the other hand was 6'2", same with Sapnap. From most of the pictures Dream sent him he looked tall in them all. Then there was the soft blond curls framing his face. Then George looked into his eyes and he felt his heart skip a beat. They were the most beautiful shade of green and gold.
"George, wanna see your new room?" Sapnap asked and George nodded as he followed Sapnap up the steps. Dream followed after them, needing Sapnap's presence to relax him. He was getting anxious as George kept glancing at him. Sapnap talked about the videos they wanted to do together and collaborations.
"This is going to be so much fun." George said and noticed Dream sticking close to Sapnap and not talking. He nodded or shook his head if Sapnap asked a question but that was it. George also noticed how Dream looked at him and for some reason it felt like George had done something wrong already. All he could think of was the blond being upset with him and giving him the silent treatment already. George got Sapnap's attention and pointed at his phone. He had sent Sapnap a text asking if he did something wrong. Sapnap shook his head when he read it.
Dream is just like that. He doesn't talk much. You didn't do anything wrong
Sapnap texted and George felt a little better. Once inside his new room he instantly went to his new pc and gasped.
"It's like a super computer. NASA would be jealous. Where'd you get something like this?" George asked, admiring every component.
"Dream built it actually. Picked out every piece. He wouldn't even let me help." Sapnap teased the blond lightly. Dream blushed.
"I'm glad you like it." Dream mumbled softly. George felt a shiver go up his spine and was confused why he felt that way. He shook off the feeling and smiled at Dream happily.
"It's amazing. Thank you." George said as he looked around the room more. Everything was expensive and extremely nice. He couldn't ask for a better room. The best part was it was all blue, his favorite color.
"It's like the most perfect room I've ever been in. You did a great job." George boasted and Dream blushed even more. He was so happy George liked his room and everything he picked out. His heart fluttered in his chest at the praise. Fiddling with his sleeves he watched George move around the room and then face plant into the bed and groan. “It feels so soft.” He mumbled into the sheets as he rolled around. “I’m so jet lagged.”
“You should sleep.” Sapnap said and George nodded in agreement.
“Wake me up in like four hours.” George said and Dream nodded as he left the room. Sapnap followed and shut the door behind them.
“Well, that went well.” Sapnap said and Dream nodded as he walked down the stairs on step at a time holding the guardrail as to not fall. “Guess George will just have to heat up the pizza later.” He said. “How are you feeling?”
“Okay.” Dream said, looking content now as he took his spot on the couch and pulled his blanket onto his lap.
“Oh, earlier George said he got us gifts.” Sapnap said as he sat down next to the other. That perked his interest as he tilted his head and gave Sapnap a curious look. “I don’t know what he got so don’t even ask.” He chuckled. Dream pouted as he put his head on Sapnap’s shoulder.
