Chapter 1: The first few sad years
"I don't want a freak for a daughter!"
Abused and abandoned by her adopted family when she was little, Mimiko had never quite got any love. When she was an egg, she was left immediately by her mother, and a Pikachu family found her. Thinking she was a Pikachu egg, they brought her home. But she was actually a Mimikyu. The Pikachu family were aghast when she hatched, and they treated her badly from then. The youngsters of the family punched and hurt her, and her so-called parents attack her too, whenever they've got the chance. At school, she has no friends, and no teacher wanted her in their class. And now, on her seventh birthday, the Pikachu family threw her out. She had nowhere to go, or indeed any money. 'I never had a nice childhood', she thought, sadly looking at a Charmander walking with its mother, a Chameleon. Tears fell from her eyes, for she had never felt sadder in her life.

Chapter 2: New friends and a new home
Mimiko stumbled as she walked through the damp streets, unsure where to go. It was a cold, winter night and it was about to rain. Her only belongings were a small journal, a book, and a pen. She shivered, as a raindrop poured down her disguise, which was made of very thin felt, so it went into her hidden appearance. As she walked on the streets, with people staring, pointing at her, she soon stumbled in front of a Pokemon, one she never has seen before. It was very pretty, with pink and white ribbons on its neck and head. It was a quadruped, walking on 4 legs. Its feet were pink, and the whole of its body (including its face) were white. Only its head had a pink wrapping from the forehead to the back of the head. Her ears were pink too, and they had blue insides. It had blue eyes, with white pupils inside. Its tail was curved into a crescent like shape, and was also pink. To complete its prettiness, it had long, white ribbon strings with cyan and pink stripes on the ends. The strings were curved into heart like shapes in the ends. The Pokemon was looking around when it caught Mimiko staring at it. It thought Mimiko was smiling, so it smiled back, but flinched when it came face to face with Mimiko, to see that she was a Mimikyu. But it smiled again and said: “How do you do, little kid! What’s your name?”. “I-I-I’m Mimiko.”, Mimiko stammered, never spoken to anyone much except herself she never knew how to be social with others. “Well, nice to meet you, Mimiko! I’m Sylvia, you can call me Via for short, people always calls me that!”, the Pokemon replied cheerfully, which by the tone of the voice is female. “Where are your parents, Mimiko? I am sure they won’t want you out here alone on a damp night like this?”. “I don’t have parents,” Mimiko answered. “My mom abandoned me when I was an egg, and I don’t even know my dad.”. “That’s so sad! So you’ve been living on the streets ever since?”, Sylvia asked. “No, I was adopted, you see, by this Pikachu family, but they threw me out today. They abused me anyways, so I’m glad they’re not caring for me anymore”, Mimiko replied sadly. “Poor thing!”, Sylvia exclaimed sympathetically. Mimiko decided to ask the worst. “Well, no offence, but what are you?”, she timidly asked, regretting the question right when it escaped her mouth (not that I know if she has a mouth or not it’s just an expression). However, Sylvia, the Pokemon, was not offended. “You mean what Pokemon am I? I’m a Sylveon, the fairy type evolution of an Eevee.”, Sylvia answered cheerfully, with nothing in her voice hinting that she felt hurt. Mimiko felt relieved. “The thing I’m worried about now is my future now. It’s been nice talking to you, but I can’t stand here forever, can I?”, Mimiko informed quietly. Sylvia chuckled, and then gently said: “Well, then you’ll have to go to my place then!”. “Whatever do you mean?”, asked Mimiko half curious, half nervous. “I can’t just go over your place and live forever, you know. What would your parents think?”. “Right, right, you don’t know. Well, I run this children’s home, it’s a place for kids that are not cared for, kids that have problems, or orphaned kids. Mostly the grown-ups that finds the kids would take them to me, but sometimes, I find kids that need help myself, and I take them to my home, making them part of my children’s home.”, Sylvia explained clarifyingly. “And for as such, you seemed like you need some help!”. “You…mean it?”, Mimiko stutteringly went. Inside her head filled with rushing thoughts. Finally, she could live somewhere that can be nice! Maybe the kids there might not like her, but she didn’t care, she had Sylvia to befriend with. “Of course I mean it, my place doesn’t care if any of the Pokemon looks weird or not, it’s a place for all of the unhelped.”.
Soon, Mimiko couldn’t believe it. She was walking, one of her claws being held by Sylvia’s ribbon feelers so Sylvia could lead the way, to where it seems to be her new home. A few moments later, they stopped at what seemed like a very large cottage, or a small mansion. Rose, daisy and tulip bushes clenched the walls of the cottage, and it was custard yellow. There was a fair sized piece of ground in the back, Sylvia said, that now has swimming pool and a large backyard. Sylvia led Mimiko to the front steps where a simple, wooden door stood. There was a hanger on the door, with a sign saying “Home Sweet Home” hanged there. Next to the door on both sides were windows, the frames made of an old yew tree. Mimiko heard Sylvia mutter “Damn it” under her breath as she searched through a magenta purse she suddenly pulled out of nowhere. She then knocked on the door using one of her feelers, mumbling something about how she should make a bell on the front door. A Jolteon answered the door for her, a woolen scarf wrapped on his neck and holding a mug of cocoa. “Hey, Via, you’re late, what made you-’’ the Jolteon stopped short. He saw Mimiko next to Sylvia, and went silent. But he found his words soon enough. “So, you found another kid today?”, he asked Sylvia, glancing at Mimiko occasionally. “Yep, this is Mimiko. Mimiko, I want you to meet Striker, he’s one of my seven friends and children’s home helpers.”, Sylvia hastily introduced. Mimiko nodded slightly at Striker, and he nodded back. Despite being a shy creature, she knew she would get along with him fine. “Come on guys, it’s freezing out there, we’ll get some scarves for you both. You feeling cold there, Mimiko?”, Striker enquired. “A little bit, yes…”, Mimiko timidly replied. As they were lead to the sitting room, where a roaring fire in the fireplace was taking in and many little Pokemon playing on the heart shaped rug, some reading on the sofa, some playing cards and some playing video games, Mimiko started to believe how this was true. There was a small bookcase near the sofa, stoked with books. When Sylvia and Mimiko, warmed up immediately after the scarves, stepped in, they caught the attention of an Igglybuff that was playing with some building blocks. “Big sis Via!”, the Igglybuff exclaimed, and the others perked up to Sylvia’s spot, where she and Mimiko were standing (not that I’m saying that she has legs or feet). As the Igglybuff grins at Sylvia, she notices Mimiko. She gasped, and said: “Whoa! You’re a Mimikyu, right?”. The others turned to stare at Mimiko. “You’re really a Mimikyu? Those are so rare!” and gasps of awe like that burst out from the others as they ran over to get a good look. “I’ve read about Mimikyus before,”, a female Pikachu said, looking up from her book. “Human Pokedexes say that a scholar had seen the true appearance under the disguise of one, and died right there of the shock. They are ghost and fairy types, and are known commonly as the Disguise Pokemon.”. “Yeah, what she said, but Mimikyus aren’t dangerous towards Pokemon, though it might give you a fright so nobody should try and pry her disguise off, ’kay?”, a voice said firmly. An Espeon walked into the sitting room, holding a wooden spoon on one paw. Even in an apron, she was really, there was no other word for it, raving pretty. But she looked, and meant, business, and Mimiko figured out that this was not somebody to cross. “Anyways, I have to get back to the soup, can any of you help me out in the kitchen?”, the haughty Espeon asked. “Why don’t you come and help her, Mimiko? My other helpers are also in the kitchen, too, you could get to know them.”, Sylvia offered up. “O-okay then…”, came the timid reply.
“I’m Amethyst,”, the Espeon introduced as they walked through the flower decorated corridor, Mimiko watching. “You’re an Espeon, right?”, asked Mimiko. “Yes,”, came the reply. They soon entered the kitchen. A whole group of Pokemon was hanging around the kitchen table. Some were cooking, some just stood around the table talking and texting. Mimiko stood there, astonished. She counted the Pokemon quickly. There were 8 in all. Sylvia did say she had helpers, but Mimiko didn’t expect this much! “Here, you can stir the soup for a bit while I go check on the Victorian sponge cakes,”, Amethyst told Mimiko. Though there was a slight stern feeling on the edge of her voice, but Mimiko could see that this was a request, not an order. Stern it can be, but it wasn’t a demanding voice, but a calm, efficient voice, a different tone of voice, the type of stern a parent would use to help their children. She obediently went over the saucepan that Amethyst pointed at, where a hot, pale brown soup was wafting. She picked up the wooden ladle, dipped it into the soup, and began stirring. A pleasant aroma filled the air. “That smells good!”, a voice perked up next her. Mimiko turned to her right side. There was nothing, until she looked down and saw something that shocked her: A Mimikyu, standing near her, smiling (just assume that she is smiling because I don’t know if Mimikyus have mouths). “You’re a-… Mimikyu?” Mimiko asked timidly. “Yep! I’m Mimi, what’s your name?”, the Mimikyu asked confidently. “I-I’m Mimiko…”, Mimiko said. “Cool beans! Would you like to be my friend? We can do lots of stuff together here at Via’s cottage!”, Mimi asked Mimiko excitedly. “Sure! I’d love too!”, Mimiko answered happily. She never knew that one day she’d find out true friendship; as she finally sat down to dinner with all the others, she looked out at the misty black sky, wondering: “What would the new day bring?
