All of Us

Summary:

Human history takes a different direction from the day early man stepped out of his cave. Nature remains tightly intertwined. Anivolk are what humans end up becoming; a hybrid of human and certain animals. The animals are rabbits, foxes, wolves and bears. Rabbits, bears and foxes stay in the forest city and live among fully evolved forest animals (actual squirrels, rabbits, wolves, bears and so on). They have the tail, ears and fur of either bear, rabbit, fox or wolf.
This tale follows the Anivolk of the forest city located in the Black forest of Germany. The Anivolk have most of the things we do except they harmonize their structures and tools with nature. There are no vehicles, just bear and horse mounts. The bear mounts are called broken links as they are true animals, having never evolved. Horses are simply horses, there are no horse-human hybrids.
This is the tale of Captain Price (bear hybrid) and his soldier bunny hybrids; Gaz and Ghost. They are called to arms against the uprising of the rebel Wolf-kin army led by Rex Makarov and his mate Nolan. The Wolk-kin no longer want to stay confined to the forest and start breaking the rules, they believe themselves to be the rightful supreme leaders of the forest.

Notes:

There are a lot of things to note but I will just explain things throughout the story. This is meant to be a far-fetched fairy tale and I will try my best to describe what is in my mind.

Chapter Text

"Keep up with him!" Captain Price shouted as he watched his two favorite soldiers sprint around the pebble trail.

Ghost was incredibly fast and his best friend, Gaz was always a few jumps behind him. Ghost was taller than the others of his kind and his flesh and fur was as white as snow. He covered himself from head to toe in black since being a brilliant white was very dangerous when out in the open forest. He painted a white wolf's skull over his mask to instill fear in his enemies. The wolf was the most terifying creature alive, not even a bear stood a chance against an organized pack.

It was a Thursday morning and Ghost was shaving after a nice bath. Gaz stopped by and teased him, as usual, about shaving his fur-beard. Ghost liked the feel of having a smooth face and his snowy-white fur grew into a nice bushy beard if he allowed it to. He had short platinum hair on his head with long noble ears standing upright on the top, which he always trimmed the unruly ends. He also trimmed his fluffy, soft tail. His eyes were as blue as the clear skies and his lashs were like spun-gold. Ghost was a stunning specimen and he turned heads often when he allowed himself to walk around unmasked.

Gaz was a lovely, chocolate-brown and his excess fur was black. He grew it out into a small patch on his chin. He had bright, hazel eyes and a determined look nearly all the time. Ghost and him met in grade-school and stayed friends since then. Price saw the potential in them when he caught them sparing and hunting in the wilds. He was very surprised by their bravery and ferocity as the Bunny-volk were generally peaceful and timid. Every Ani-volk played a role in society; the Fox-volk were generally the diplomats and politicians, while the Bunny-volk were medical professionals and scientists. The Bear-volk were protectors and skilled laborers, being the strongest of volk. The Wolf-volk or Wolf-kin as they liked to call themselves, were soldiers and enforcers of order. They earned a bad reputation for being violent and impulsive as well as specieist-- prejudice against other AniVolk.

Things were getting more dangerous, even within the city walls, as many of the Wolf-volk left the city in favor of making the wilds their new home. Under the leadership of Vladimir Makarov and his mate, Nolan, the rebel wolves kept mostly to themselves, plotting in secret outside the walls. More and more reports came through about the city dwelllers getting mauled or killed when going too far out. Captain Price had enough of it, as did his small army of mixed Ani-volk. They were going to take down the evil pack, no matter what it took. Captain Price managed to talk some of his own kind into joining. It was a tough feat because the bears did not like physical altercations.

Ghost and Gaz were joined by two foxes; Alex Keller and Phillip Graves. They were life-long dog mates and they were expecting kits in a few months. Alex was especially protective of his mate since he was with young. Phillip was a gorgeous fox with honey blond fur and golden, swooping hair at the top of his head. He kept his lush tail groomed and a little curled at the very tip. His mate, Alex, was equally attractive, favoring the more masculine side of beauty. He had a bushy, but kempt fur-beard and mustache, which he waxed at the ends a little. Phillip was arrogant and up-tight while Alex was approachable and warm. Their bravery and soldiering skills was unmatched when they fought together.

Farah arrive a little late to role-call and everyone either snarled or stepped back when she arrived. She was a wolf who hated what so many of her kin had become. She wanted to restore the wolves' role and reputation as protective, noble creatures. She was just a little shorter than Ghost, towering over everyone else. Price saw the scar across her snout, four claw marks, the mark of demotion, a shunning from an alpha of serious rank. Only Makarov or Nolan were allow to dole this curse out and she bore it proudly, as a show of defiance toward the dark side of her kind.

Ghost extended his gloved hand and she shook it. He wasn't afraid at all, but Gaz was uneasy, approaching with caution and then shaking her hand.

"Right, let's go pups, kittens (baby bunnies) and cubs!" Price shouted.

They began their rigorous training eagerly.
