Chapter Text
Venice was a peaceful place, always bustling with people. All the buildings which twisted stood tall, elevating the city scape. Canals stretched between each of the winding roads.
A lot of the days were raining, the canals bursting its banks and flooding the streets surrounding. Today's weather was no different.
Water started to spill over the edge and pool its way into the bottom of the roads, small plants struggling under the pressure.
Sunstar and Realm were in a small building. Their day had been normal. Performing for children. Plays, songs, whatever they wanted. It was peaceful. They enjoyed it.
However on this day, it wasn't as peaceful.
Sunstar felt that something was amiss.
Was it the fact that it was raining?
Can't be. It always rains.
Was it the fact that the wind was wildly blowing?
Unlikely.
Was it the fact that the main door was left wide open.
Realm looked at the door worriedly. How had they not noticed this earlier.
They couldn't go over to the door.
They would risk breaking the gears in them, as the water was collecting on the floor.
The two tried edging back into higher ground, but nothing was much higher than the piano, which stood atop the stage.
The water was rising quickly, the two just stood atop the piano, accepting what would happen.

Many hours had passed.
Was it days?
Was this an old warehouse they were in?
They both felt stiff and broken.
Piles of metal layed around, shelves were stacked high with boxes of what looked like parts for animatronics.
A door was in front of them both.
Sunstar opened the door. It opened easily. The sky was now dark, the stars shining bright. The air felt much more dry than they were used to.
They both stepped outside, barely. Only a few steps. Walking felt difficult.
A quiet crackling music box sounded like it was getting nearer. They both stopped. A black animatronic with many eyes started walking towards them, their steps disjointed.
As soon as the two made eye contact, the steps quickened. The animatronic now speeding towards them.
The two threw themselves back towards the door they came from, slamming it shut behind them.
Not even a moment after the animatronic banging into the door a few times. Realm and Sunstar both pushed back at the door, trying to keep it closed.
After about a minute the noise stopped and the two slumped to the ground. They felt unable to move.
Where even were they.
