Chapter 1: Prelude
Chapter Text
The solar base was quiet. Eclipse wasn't even pacing like usual. All that could be heard was the whirring of his computers and machines. Eclipse was hard at work. He needed to finish his fail safe. If he didn't, he would be killed. He wasn't dumb enough to talk to Moon without a backup plan.
The star was floating around him. It was very important that it was nearby. He wouldn't be altering the star, because he couldn't, but he did need to… code something. To add what he needed.
His safety was at sake. He knew they'd be trying to kill him. As soon as he showed his face, they'd be at his throat.
He knew of their friend also, and Moon’s absence to another dimension. It was suspicious, but Moon reeked of another dimension’s code. Eclipse could use that. And he did.
“That should be it.” Eclipse fell back into his chair. He'd been at this for nearly weeks now. Moon helped speed up the process, but only barely.
His fail safe was complete. It was a spell, a safe word, a code. It would be his salvation. Whoever Moon had been hanging out with would be in for a surprise. For their good friend would be the one killing them, not him.
Chapter 2: Prologue
Summary:
Finally, it's time. The moment that will determine Eclipse's life forever, or at least, if he can continue living. Will his failsafe work? Or is Eclipse always doomed to die?
Chapter Text
Eclipse struggled to raise out of the ballpit. He didn't really expect Sun to blast him. This didn't affect his plan, but it did weaken him. Would his fail safe work at all? He grabbed at the raised floor groaning. He used it to support him trying to get up.
“What's happening?” Eclipse groaned. He felt like he was set on fire. He definitely wasn't in his dimension anymore.
“Howdy, buddy!” Eclipse heard a smug familiar voice call to him. So this was Moon's plan… Drag him to the dimension he'd been hiding in and kill him here. It wasn't satisfying to say the least.
“What did you do? WHAT DID YOU DO?!” He could feel Sun’s star power burning his body. He wanted to scream, the pain was becoming unbearable. He just noticed his hands. No… Not his anymore. Solar Flare’s. Was this his mind playing tricks on his again? Or was he so weak he couldn't hold on much longer?
He could feel the sky looking down on him. An unfamiliar sky, but still a judgemental one, just like in his dimension. He could see stars outlining his vision, taking the things around him and obstructing them. Everything had eyes. Everything could hear him. Everything was laughing at him. He was their lamb for the slaughter.
You could call him delusional for feeling these things and seeing the strange and unexplainable, but he wouldn't care. He wouldn't believe you. He had trapped himself in the constraints of his mind.
“Why don't you come over here and I can elaborate a bit for you!” Moon’s voice was cocky. He already feels like he had won. If Eclipse timed it right, Moon wouldn't stay cocky at all, he could still win this. But first he'd take his chance on Moon being reasonable, even if he doubted it. He knew deep down he didn't deserve it, but they should listen no matter what.
“Or are you too weak to-” Eclipse didn't let Moon finish.
“No… No no no. NO!” Eclipse backed up staring at his hands, questioning what was real. He knew he had a way out, but he didn't want to die. He didn't want to even come close. He wasn't ready.
“I am NOT staying here!” His voice faltered. If Moon cared, he would hear that Eclipse was nearly about to cry.
“Portal: offline!” Moon ordered. Eclipse felt the portal’s energy immediately disapear. Eclipse angrily walked out of the ballpit, straight for Moon.
“You can trap me here all you want! It’ll change nothing!” Eclipse yelled. He was nearly about to go into a coughing fit, but he did his best to hold it back.
“That's not exactly the plan…” Moon smirked. He did more than smirk. He laughed. Laughed at how pathetic Eclipse was right now. Laughed as if he were higher and mightier. Laughed at Eclipse's misfortune. How unfair…
“I don't have time for this! I need you to listen to me!” Eclipse's breath was staggered and he finally released his pent up cough. He even looked like he was dying. Moon might as well be putting him out of his misery.
“Five minutes! I want five minutes!” Eclipse was bent over, barely able to look up at Moon.
“This is sad…” Moon crossed his arms. He still looked so nonchalant.
“Listen to me! There is something badhappening. Something very bad… Something that WILL be very bad! Very soon! Lunar’s involved, he will be the catalyst!” Eclipse was able to support himself enough to walk closer.
“What do you want us to do? Kill him? Like you did? We’ve handled bad stuff like you before. We can handle whatever comes our way.” Moon began to whisper, “I don't think you deserve five minutes, if you even last that long.”
“You NEED to kill him! You need to take this seriously!” Eclipse became urgent. He didn't know what Moon had in store for him, but he'd rather use his fail safe before he did.
“You're on the verge of death, and yet you still talk bull?” Moon moved his hands to his hips. His confidence will be the death of him.
“Do you think I'm lying to you? Just to save my own skin!?” Eclipse failed his arms. He was arguing with a brick wall. He knew Moon wouldn't listen. But he didn't want to be held responsible for their downfall. Not if he could save them…
“Isn't that all you do?” Moon sounded more irritated. He was ready for Eclipse's demise, not his speech.
“LUNAR IS GOING TO GET YOU ALL KILLED!” Eclipse, despite his pain, expressed himself exaggeratedly. He hoped it would prove a point, but Eclipse had nothing to hope for.
“You're delusional.”
“I'm not delusional. I've SEEN it!” If Moon wasn't about to kill him, he'd almost feel bad. Eclipse was clearly suffering from psychological damage possibly from the star and its overuse. But Eclipse can't be helped now, he must be killed.
“There are things happening! Moon! You have to take this seriously! I've seen so many futures…” Eclipse hugged himself, reliving what he saw would only make it more painful.
“So you're an idiot!” Moon yelled in his face.
“Moon! You can't kill me! I'm the ONLY one that can help you!” He didn't feel good about pleading for his life, especially in this way, but he'd rather use his last words to try and save them. Why did he want to save them..?
“I shouldn't kill you?” Moon laughed. How snarky. Eclipse knew he went on about Eclipse's crimes and why he deserved to die, but Eclipse was losing focus, his vision blurred and his hearing suppressed. He could pass out at any moment.
“I'm trying to keep you and your family safe.” Eclipse barely was able to spit the words out. Everything was fuzzy…
“By killing a member? I would ask if you're insane, but I already know the answer!” Moon said a bunch more about his memories and whatnot. Eclipse couldn't keep up.
“Forget the past… for a second. This is about your future.” Eclipse waved his hand, it only made his dizzy.
“I don't care what you think since you won't have a future!” Moon smiled again. You'd think he enjoyed killing the way he toyed with his prey.
…
“What do you know about star power? Do you know who keeps track of it?”
“Sorry, what?”
“I do. Star power is not a force existing on its own. There are being out there who control it.” This was Eclipse's last chance to get Moon to understand. Moon said something else.
“Moniter it! They monitor it! And they aren't happy… I need you to listen, please. Maybe youre right and some of my futures are wrong, but this I am sure of. I call them Astral Bodies. They will destroy your home. They will kill everyone. ”
“You know I thought you'd be humble in your final moments.” Moon crossed his arms again. He often moved his hands from his hips to crossing them.
“Humble?” Eclipse could barely hear anymore. Especially when Moon went off after that. He must not have like Eclipse's question.
“-And do you want to know who told me how to kill you? The name on your chest!” Eclipse wasn't surprised. Solar Flare did say that he wanted Eclipse to die and he knew it would happen soon. Eclipse should've known that he was involved somehow.
“Have you ever been hit by an orbital laser?” Eclipse's heart sank. If he had one, he would feel his stomach drop. This was it. Moon was ready to kill.
“Moon. Stop. Please, don't do this. I'll give you the star. I'll give you anything you want! I'll even leave your dimension and never come back!” Eclipse tried to stay calm. He needed to be able to focus right before it happened. He needed to time this perfectly or that nicer Eclipse would snitch to Moon about the body swap.
“How the mighty have fallen!” Moon laughed genuinely, not in an evil way. This was entertainment for him. “You clearly dont understand. The only thing I want is you dead.”
“Moon, listen-”
“I'm done listening! Containment field.” It wouldn't have any affect on the plan, but it was claustrophobic. Eclipse could barely move. He was trapped in a box.
“Coward. At least Bloodmoon had the balls to fight me in my last ‘final moments’.” Eclipse pressed his hands against the edges. He desperately wanted more room. He hated feeling trapped.
“At least I'll get away alive.” Moon smiled smugly. Eclipse would never lime that smile. He would never forgive that smile.
“When your brother lies dead in your arms, I want you to remember this moment.” That seemed to strike a nerve with Moon, but ot didn't scare him, it only pissed him off. He got closer.
“If I ever find out I ‘need’ YOU, I will personally kill myself, so I won't have to deal with whatever problem YOU caused. That is my promise.” Moon pointed a finger at Eclipse. Such a bold claim.
“You're making a mistake.” Moon backed off.
“I don't care, because you'll be dead, and I'll be happy even if just for a moment.” Moon pointed at himself this time. He's really not going to like what's about to happen.
Moon continued to tangent about how he'd kill Ruin and how he could rely on other people unlike Old Moon. He mentioned the “good eclipse” as of there was even such a thing.
“You will never forget this moment, Moon. As long as you live, you will look back on this moment. So do it. Press the button and watch ne blow up into a thousand pieces.” Eclipse was ready to activate the star for his plans. He only needed half a second. Moon needed one.
“I don't need to watch.” His final mistake.
-
Eclipse suddenly appeared in his own head. This was it. If even a second too late, he would die. It was now or never.
“I know what you're planning.” Solar Flare wasn't standing close to Eclipse but he could still be distinctly heard. “I advise against it.”
“Why the hell should I listen to you? You just want me dead!” Eclipse bared his teeth. He was yelling now. His voice hurt.
“Maybe in another life, perhaps they would've listened.” Solar Flare looked directly into Eclipse's eyes.
“That's what I'm going to figure out.” Eclipse chuckled. He smiled, but it wasn't very genuine.
“Eclipse. It is time to rest. You do not need to continue fighting.”
“No, I'm not ready!”
“…Do you care for them that much? You would run from your own death just to protect them?”
Eclipse stayed silent. Why did he care so much? It didn't matter. He didn't want to die. That was all that he needed.
“And now we both shall die.” Solar Flare finally broke eye contact, looking towards the vastness of the void they were in.
“No, not me. I'd apologize for leaving you here to perish, but you don't seem all that concerned.” Eclipse crossed his arms. Old habits die hard.
“…Perhaps not.” Silence. “We are in another dimension, how do you plan to use the star?”
“A small altercation to not only myself but the star itself. It should work, if only once. I don't have to explain everything to you. This all a bunch of crap anyway. It won't matter. It won't survive.” Eclipse looked down. He almost felt sorry for that “nice” Eclipse. Where was he anyway?
“Do what you must. I can't stop you anymore. I just hope you learn something from this.” Solar Flare shook his head.
“I'm so tired of death.” Eclipse whispered to himself. He was scared. Scared of failing. Scared of dying again. Scared of what would happen after he survived. There was no winning. He had already lost. This was determined from the beginning.
A bright light shined on Eclipse, but nothing happened to his physical body. The spirit of Eclipse was freeing himself, but the flesh remained. It wouldn't very soon.
-
Eclipse was now lying on his back. The sky above him was dark and blood red. The ground was warm, it felt like stone. He sat up and saw fire all around him.
“AHHH!” Eclipse screamed. He backed away from the extremely close fire. What was the other Eclipse doing in a place like this?! Eclipse figured he'd still be somewhere in that dimension but NOPE! How?
He could've sworn he was about to have a panic attack. He was once again in another unfamiliar place but this time in another unfamiliar body. But he didn't have time to dwell.
After calming himself down, he managed to stand up. Then he saw his hands. They were golden. How strange. He hadn't had golden hands since he was living in Sun.
There was something else he noticed. He knew that his environment was real. He wasn't questioning what was around him. He wasn’t worried that he was hallucinating. His mind was clearer. Although as he strated thinking about it, he could've swarn that stars blinked in his vision, but he ignored it. He felt better. Who knew?
He managed to make his way around the randomly placed fires. It almost looked like he was in the Nether from Minecraft, if you could believe it. Although it wasn't blocky. This must've just been hell then. Hell looked very similar to the Nether.
He didn't have time to look around, a portal appeared very close to him. It must've lead back to Moon, but… did he want to see Moon again? Moon had technically just killed him. And what if Moon figured out he was the real Eclipse! He didn't know how to act like this other guy! But he couldn't just stay here… it was awful here.
After gaining the courage to face his nemesis again, Eclipse walked through the portal hesitantly. He was getting tired of all this dimensional travel.
Back in the ballpit for the second time today, but this time considerably less weak. He managed to stand back up with little to no problems, but he was still panting and breathing heavy. This was all getting to be too much for him.
“Nice Eclipse? You ok?” Moon was standing in the exact same spot he was when Eclipse left. Eclipse wasn't used to the nice honorific, but he would have to learn if he wanted to not get killed for good this time. Maybe he'd change his name later, or they could just call him Eclipse.
“I guess? I've been better. Is he dead?” Eclipse hugged himself. Moon offered his hand to help him up, but Eclipse stood up without him. He dusted of his pants.
“Oh definitely! There's nothing left! Come look!” Moon walked over to where Eclipse's body was standing before he left it. He felt a twinge of guilt over killing Nice Eclipse, but it was either him or Eclipse. There can't be two anyway.
“Good job.” Eclipse crossed his arms. Not even ash. He was lucky he escaped when he did. It'd be a bit pathetic to have just died there like that. With no real ending to his story, not yet.
“So anyway, where did you end up? Sorry for pushing you through the portal. I'm surprised you're not more mad at me.” Moon chuckled. He full expected Nice Eclipse to come out throwing punches, but he seemed calm if not shaken up.
Eclipse noted what Moon said. He saw an opportunity and decided to take the risk. He threw a punch at Moon landing directly in his face.
“OW! Ok! I deserve that! You are mad! I'm sorry! I shouldn't have brought it up!” Moon laughed awkwardly. It appears the risk paid off. It also felt really good.
“Why did you do that?!” Eclipse barely raised his voice. He thought it would make sense to ask, but also give him context for their plan.
“I just wanted to save you ok! You said the satellite could target you too and I didn't want you to die!” Moon held up his hands and backed off trying not to get punched again. Moon cared a lot about this other version of him. It almost made Eclipse… sorrowful, that he couldn't have been loved like this.
“Whatever. If you're still wondering, I went to hell pretty much. A horrible dimension.” Eclipse turned to study the daycare he was in. It wasn't much different to his dimension's. Good. Easy to learn then.
“I'll take your word for it. So do you still need me here or-”
“No.” He suddenly remembered he had to be nice. “I mean… you should go check on Sun.”
“Oh, crap! Sun!” Moon rushed through the portal. Eclipse was alone again. Alone, but alive. He turned to face the daycare's doors. He put his hands on his hips.
Hello, new home.
Chapter 3: First Day
Summary:
It was finally Eclipse's first day in this new dimension, what could possibly go wrong?
Chapter Text
Eclipse sighed. This is not what he expected when he wanted to start his new life. It was only his first day.
Last night, after Moon left, Eclipse made the mistake of exploring this dimension. He started with his new Sun and Moon. He sneaked his way into their room. They appeared to both be charging or sleeping or whatever Sun was doing. He snooped around but couldn’t find much interesting. Minus, of course, Moon’s crazed ramblings. Sticky notes all over his walls, saying the damnedest things.
Most of them saying “Sun’s not dead.” and other variations. Some concerningly said “The byproduct’s fault.” “Blame Eclipse.” “Reject doesn’t care”. It would appear this Moon does not like his Eclipse either. So far, this didn’t seem like it’d go well for Eclipse living here, but decided to withhold his judgement until later. The rest were just plans that Eclipse couldn’t make much sense of. The handwriting was poor and the scribbles were unrecognizable. Clearly, something happened.
Eclipse also took the time to see what else was different in the Pizzaplex. To keep things short, not much. Everything looked the same and Eclipse didn’t know the other animatronics well enough to know if they were that much different in personality. Except Monty.
Monty was pretty clearly different. For one, he wasn’t close with Moon, at all. He was more greedy and scummy too. And then there was the obvious, he was using a British accent. Obviously, Monty wasn’t British, but for some strange reason, he was using an accent. Probably to manipulate others, if Eclipse could guess.
It seems the Monty here didn’t like Eclipse much either, or at least the Eclipse didn’t like Monty. In fact, Eclipse was having a hard time finding anyone who would even talk to him. What did nice Eclipse do to piss everybody off? Obviously he didn’t terrorize and kill people, so what happened? It would only be suspicious if he asked.
Making his way back to the daycare, Eclipse sighed, exhausted. Exploring was important so he could study his new dimension, but it was tiresome. He didn’t like the stares he got. It reminded him too much of his home dimension. Even before the star had his mind in it’s grasp, he always felt watched. He felt weak for being so paranoid, but it kept him safe. If he ever had another Lunar in his life, he would be dead again.
He opened the giant daycare doors, and he took in the sight again. This daycare looked better maintained than in his home dimension. Unfortunately, he didn’t think he would be able to maintain it as well as the other Eclipse could.
What Eclipse failed to notice right away was that this dimension’s Moon was standing in the middle of the daycare. He noticed very quickly that he was being approached. He had to think fast. He didn’t know if this Moon would hurt him.
“Hey, Moon. What’re you doing outside your room?” Eclipse tried sounding as calm as possible. He hadn’t exactly met this Moon before. He would have to act like it and learn what he was like if he wanted to blend in.
Moon didn’t say anything, he just glared at Eclipse. He staggered closer, threatening to fall to the ground. He looked like he hadn’t charged for very long. Eclipse didn’t back up, he didn’t want to show any form of fear. It wasn’t there, anyway. He did not fear a Moon he didn’t know.
“Moon.” Eclipse said more sternly, this time.
“What?” Moon finally gave an annoyed growl, acting as if he didn’t hear Eclipse before.
“What are you doing? Go charge.” He pointed back up at the balcony. Moon followed his finger but then quickly looked back at Eclipse. He stared daggers at Eclipse. He acted scarily like the Moon Eclipse DID know. He still didn’t stand down.
“Shut up.” Moon growled. His red eyes glowed viciously. He was more aggressive than Eclipse thought he would be. He thought that this life would be easier. He must’ve thought wrong.
“Fine. Ignore me, but I’ll laugh my ass off when you collapse because you run out of battery.” Eclipse smiled. This time it was his turn to be smug.
“SHUT UP!” Moon screamed.
“Calm down, Crescent! Jesus!” The nickname just slipped out. Eclipse didn’t even mean to call him that. He really shouldn’t have, it only seemed to make Moon more upset.
“You’re telling ME to calm down?!” Moon swung his fist landing a blow directly in Eclipse’s face. Eclipse screamed in pain. He grabbed his face and walked backwards hoping to avoid another blow. He could feel a dent; this Moon hits hard.
“Argh… You HIT me!” Eclipse looked up at Moon. Those red eyes piercing into his own showing nothing but anger.
“Don’t call me Crescent, reject.” He walked out the daycare’s front doors. Eclipse’s head was pounding too much for him to care where Moon was going. He dropped to his knees, hoping it would relieve the pain a bit.
He knew Moon didn’t like this Eclipse, but that seemed a bit excessive. He felt stupid for not knowing what was happening. Why Moon hated him, why Sun was still sleeping, why he was a “reject”, why no one seemed to truly like or respect him. The Eclipse that used to live here must’ve done something terrible.
Eclipse tried standing up again, but he didn’t know where to go. Was Moon going back into the tower? If so, Eclipse couldn’t go there. Should he go to the basement? What if Monty was there? He really didn’t want to deal with Monty again.
It wouldn’t do much good to try and fix the dent. He suspected he would get more anyway. Why do all Moons have to be the same? Maybe this would just be a one time instance. He didn’t bet on it. He just wished there would be a Moon out there that would just cooperate with him. A Moon who would listen to him!
Eclipse hobbled over to the desk and plopped down on one of the chairs. Normally, he would nap this off, but he didn’t want to be left vulnerable if Moon came back. He checked the time. 7:20 A.M. The morning shift should be here any minute now. They would probably drag Moon back (considering he’s not supposed to leave the daycare during the day). Kids would be flooding inside in about a couple hours.
Eclipse wasn’t ready to deal with kids again. He would just shove this onto Sun. Might as well go wake him up anyway. Eclipse made his way up to the tower, thankfully, not running into Moon, but he figured that could change soon.
The tower hadn’t changed since Eclipse last snooped through it. Sun was still in the same sleeping position; he was laying on a table. A weird way to charge, but Eclipse wouldn’t judge considering how unknown Sun was to him. He poked Sun.
“Wakey wakey~” Eclipse teased. He fully expected Sun to jump up and get straight to cleaning, or preparing for work. Sun didn’t move. He didn’t even twitch. Eclipse poked him again.
“Come on, the daycare’s about to open, and I would prefer if YOU did most of the work.” Eclipse chuckled. Sun didn’t move. Eclipse frowned. “Are you ignoring me? Don’t tell me you ALSO hate me!” Sun looked peaceful in his slumber… He was slumbering, right? Eclipse shook him.
“Hey! Get up! God… I don’t think I would expect a LAZY Sun!” No response. Eclipse sighed. Suddenly, he noticed a computer next to Sun’s table. Ok, so Sun must be under repair. That would explain why he’s offline. He decided to snoop through this as well. Wouldn’t hurt.
Oh…
Sun was completely offline. His systems seemed… fried. Sun wasn’t going to wake up no matter what Eclipse did. Was he ever going to wake up at all?
Eclipse backed away from Sun slowly. He had poked a dead Sun. He felt sick, but that could just be the dent again. He backed up directly into something. Although looking back, it wasn’t a something, it was a someone.
“What are you doing in here, reject?” Moon fumed. How did he get in here so fast? And without Eclipse noticing. He looked almost scary, for a Moon.
“I just wanted to see Sun.” Eclipse held up his hands. Anything to try and calm Moon down. He didn’t need to get hit again.
“You don’t DESERVE to see Sun! GET OUT!” Moon got in Eclipse’s face screaming. He was definitely going to give him another dent.
“I was just leaving.” Eclipse tried to move past Moon.
“I don’t want to see you back in here.” For some reason, that really angered Eclipse. He didn’t just want to submit to this new Moon. This Moon that didn’t know him. This Moon might’ve had an Eclipse that would do anything he said, but this new Eclipse wouldn’t be like that. He needed to show Moon that he wouldn’t be pushed around.
“Whatever you say, Crescent.” He turned around to snicker. The last thing he saw was the fuming Moon wind up his fist again before blacking out.

Chapter Text
Eclipse didn’t know if it was possible for animatronics to smoke cigarettes, but he was definitely willing to find out. He found a pack left out in the entrance. Fans had always made fun of him for sounding like a smoker, he might as well start for real. It’s not like it would kill him. And even if it didn’t, he didn’t care anymore. He shouldn’t have survived anyway.
It was hard to get the hang of, he couldn’t really taste the smoke, but he didn’t stop. It was just something to do. Something to take his mind off the last few days.
Everything was constant. There was no time to rest. Employees had high expectations. Crescent was hard to handle. Monty was an ass. Sun was… The Sun situation here was creepy.
Sun was mostly completely vegetative, not moving, and not thinking as far as Eclipse could tell. But sometimes… when performances were happening… The first time it happened it scared Eclipse half to death.
“Sun?” Eclipse whispered to himself. Sun was walking around. He was tending to some of the children. They were so emotionless, some kids backed away uncomfortable. This seemed to be a recurring issue. Eclipse even asked some kids about it.
“Sun’s just like that now.” They would all say. Not creepy at all. He tried his best to ignore it, not wanting to get socked in the face again.
He hadn’t worked as a daycare attendant since he was stuck inside Sun’s head. His Sun’s, not this walking corpse. It wasn’t easy back then, in fact it was quite hard for him, and it certainly wasn’t getting easier now. He though that maybe it would be easier in this dimension, but it was about the same as he remembered it. Nothing different.
Eclipse threw the cigarette back onto the ground. How did people do this every day? It was kind of boring. He slowly made his way back inside the daycare. He probably shouldn’t have been smoking in the theatre, but he didn’t have anywhere else to go. He couldn’t leave the daycare much since he was the only one running it.
Collapsing into a chair behind the main desk, Eclipse trudged closer to the computers. He had a lot of work to do. He had to order supplies, take intakes, list everyone who came, prepare for future events and holidays, and much much more. He sighed. He wished he could just take a nap and let someone else take over for a while.
Back then, he let Lunar deal with the kids and he handled the computer stuff, just because that’s what they were good at. Sometimes, they would swap, if just to keep Lunar happy, or shut him up. He used to complain all the time. Eclipse snickered. He could imagine Lunar whining right about now.
Eclipse cleared his head. He needed to focus. Lunar wasn’t important. It was unfortunate that he was still alive. If only, because his life put the others in danger. Maybe he didn’t HAVE to die, but Eclipse couldn’t think of any other solution. It didn’t matter now. He had a new life. It wasn’t perfect, but at least he wasn’t dead.
“Oi! ‘Clipse!” A British accent erupted from the daycare doors. Following it, a gator plowed his way inside, already challenging himself to be as annoying as possible. Wonderful. Eclipse groaned.
“God, what do you want?” Eclipse held his head as if it hurt. He knew he’d get a headache soon if this kept up.
“Listen, mate. I need a bit of service, ya know. There’s this pipe, in my gator golf, and-” Eclipse interrupted Monty.
“I’m not fixing it.”
“WHOT!?” He yelled in his stupid accent.
“I don’t have time. Fix it yourself, if it’s such an issue.” Eclipse shooed the gator off and went back to the computer. He had a lot of work to do.
Lunar could’ve really come in handy right now…
“Listen, mate…” Monty slammed his bulky hands on the desk right in front of Eclipse. It was almost threatening. “I don’t think you understand. If you don’t help me fix me pipes, ol’ Crescent isn’t going to be very happy after finding out you left ya post, ain’t he?” Monty smiled and looked down at Eclipse above his sun glasses.
Eclipse froze. Monty was gonna snitch!
“Don’t.” Eclipse warned.
“Then fix. Me. Pipes.” Monty smiled a big toothy grin. Eclipse sighed. This gator was being serious. He forced himself to get up from his comfy swivel chair and trudged over to a maintenance closet and grabbed a tool box. Would this small thing even help him fix PIPES? He hoped so.
Hours passed. Eclipse was soaked from gallons of dirty water spraying him whenever he did something wrong. Dents in his head and on his arms from water shooting pipes like missiles. Overall, it was a poor experience, but at least Monty wasn’t supervising him to make it worse.
He slowly forced himself back to the daycare. What a long day… “I should really take a nap or something.” Eclipse yawned. He needed to charge.
Opening the daycare doors the first thing he noticed was Monty making a quick escape. That gator ran for his life, but from what? Looking back Eclipse could see exactly why. Crescent was standing in the middle of the daycare giving Eclipse a death stare. Eclipse almost wished he could join Monty.
“Where have you been?” Crescent demanded the answer.
“Monty asked me to fix his pipes. I thought I’d be a good Samaritan and help out.” Eclipse shrugged. Maybe if he acted casual, Crescent wouldn’t hit as hard. …Is this what Lunar went through? But Eclipse didn’t hit him THIS much… did he?
“You have ONE job and you flaked?!” Crescent marched closer to Eclipse, nearly getting close enough to start swinging.
“How did you even find out I was gone?” Eclipse asked backing away. He didn’t want to be in hitting range.
“Monty told me you bailed!” Moon did try and swing, but Eclipse ducked just in time. Although, not for the second punch. It hit him directly in the side of the head. He could feel his rays cracking. He’d never had this happen before. What did the Nice Eclipse do when Crescent got like this?
“He asked me for help!” Eclipse pleaded his case. Was Monty just TRYING to get him in trouble?
“SHUT! UP!” Moon swung again, and with Eclipse so dazed from the last blow, he couldn’t dodge the next one, or the next one, or the next one. Eclipse had been beaten to the ground. He definitely didn’t hit Lunar THIS bad. At least, he hoped not. He cowered and covered his face hoping to lessen the blows towards his head. He could feel his battery drained, but he didn’t have time to charge. Moon started kicking. Right in his skull.
“Why! Can’t! You! Just! Listen!!” With each word, his foot came down harder. Eclipse suppressed his screams as best he could, but the last kick on “listen” was his breaking point.
“Stop! Stop!” Eclipse cried out. His voice sounded pathetic. He wished he were stronger. He wish he still had his star. Heck, he wished he could find the one here, if there even was one.
Crescent laid down one last hard kick, denting Eclipse’s head bad. He finally scoffed and walked off as if he just wanted to let some anger out. God, this was bad. But at least he wasn’t dead… Eclipse wasn’t so sure this was worth it anymore.

Chapter Text
Days.
Days of torment. Days of beatings. Days of verbal abuse. Days of non-stop pain from Moon, Monty, and that damned Sun. That vegetative Sun.
Eclipse had suffered days under the hands of Moon, the set ups from Monty, and… Sun. Sun wasn’t a direct problem, but still… problems were caused because of him.
This was becoming too much to handle. Eclipse kept trying to tell himself “At least you’re not dead” but it wasn’t helping as much as it used to. At his lowest, Eclipse had thought death would be better than his current fate, even thinking of doing something… drastic.
But he never went through with it. Every time he would manage to talk himself out of it. He was thankful, but what else was there? What else was left?
Suddenly, an image of the Sun and Moon from his dimension appeared in his mind with open arms.
No!
He wasn’t going back there.
Maybe…
They tried to kill me…
Do you blame them?
…
Eclipse sighed. The daycare computers sat in front of him in a perpetual, almost unending loading screen. This waiting… it always made Eclipse’s thoughts race. He wasn’t sure why. Maybe he was just an overthinker.
…
Maybe he was just weak.
“REJECT!” Eclipse jumped. Moon had pounded on the counter to get his attention. Eclipse grabbed his chest. He tried to steady his breathing, but for some reason it was really hard to do whenever Moon was around.
“What?” Eclipse asked, he hoped there wasn’t too much attitude in his voice, otherwise he knew Moon would just start beating him again. He had to tread carefully nowadays. It was awful.
Hah… Now you know why Lunar left.
Shut up.
These voices that he used to talk to himself had become much more common recently. Hopefully, this wasn’t a side effect to the body transfer…
What if it was Solar Flare?
“Give me your body.” Moon said, straight-faced. Eclipse had to suppress a giggle. That’s something his fans would say, not Moon.
“Um, we aren’t that close, Moon.” Eclipse quipped.
“NO, YOU IDIOT! I’m going to use your body to fix Sun!” Moon shouted into Eclipse’s face. Eclipse was all too used to this. He barely flinched anymore.
“And how do you plan on doing that?” Eclipse didn’t think there was a way to fix Sun at all. For some reason, Moon kept trying.
Would the other me try this hard? Would he even care? Would he give up his body for Sun?
Eclipse was only now starting to realize, he didn’t know much about Nice Eclipse at all.
“Well, you have his body! He just needs it back!” Moon sounded delusional. Maybe he knew Sun was a lost cause, and yet he still tried so hard. It was almost admirable, but it was increasingly irritating.
“What about me?” Eclipse raised his voice. Moon really wanted to go through with this. He wasn’t going to try and kill Eclipse this way, was he?
“I’ll find a spare.” Moon didn’t sound like his heart was in it.
“What kind of spare? We have a spare?” Did his dimension have a spare body? Could he have been transferred into it? Could he have lived peacefully with Sun and Moon?
Eclipse didn’t want to think about that. No matter what, he has already gone too far, and there was no way to go back. He already hated them, and they hated him.
“Probably in the basement somewhere.” Eclipse didn’t want to count on a “probably”.
“Could you at least check before we try?”
Moon scoffed but walked off. Eclipse guessed he’d rather get this done with as little fighting back as possible.
Can’t stand that guy.
Eclipse slumped down into his chair. Maybe a nap would do him good. He didn’t hate the idea of a new body, this one was certainly beaten up pretty good, but Eclipse knew the risks very well. Honestly, he didn’t really care. Whatever happens, happens.
All that effort to save yourself, and yet now you wish for death?
Ha.
This voice was getting on Eclipse’s nerves.
“Oi!” Eclipse jumped up again, sitting up and looking like he was still working. Looking up, it was only Monty. He should’ve known.
“Ugh. What now?” Eclipse rolled his eyes and looked back down at his computer.
“I need a lil’ sumthin’ from ya.” The gator said smugly.
“Like what? More money?”
“A nice idea, but no. Not right yet! I want your satellite.” On the last sentence, Monty dropped the accent on the last sentence. He was trying to intimidate Eclipse! The solar animatronic glared.
“And WHAT are you going to use THAT for?” Eclipse raised an eyebrow.
“I helped you build it, you owe me it back.” Monty leaned in closer, practically spitting in Eclipse’s face. Eclipse tried leaning back, but Monty only leaned closer.
Personal space.
“I don’t think I remember that.” Eclipse teased. He didn’t smile though, he was fed up with dealing with Monty.
“Want me to jog your memory?” Monty cracked his knuckles threateningly.
“I don’t have it.” Eclipse shrugged.
“WHAT?!” Monty screamed, standing up straight. He looked as if he were seriously going to hurt the golden animatronic in front of him.
Don’t you know that’s Moon’s job, Monty? You’re only supposed to instigate Moon to hurt me.
“I said I don’t have it, can you screw off now?” Eclipse backed up, just in case Monty would swing.
“You tryin’ to hustle me!?” Monty’s thick southern accent returned in all its glory. Eclipse has only been able to achieve this one other time and he nearly thought he was going to die.
“Of course not-” Eclipse could barely finish his sentence before Monty leaped over the desk and pinned him to the ground. He had already started smashing his fists into Eclipse’s face before Eclipse even had time to access the situation and defend himself.
When Monty got tired of punching he just picked up Eclipse’s head and started beating it into the ground.
Eclipse tried screaming, but each time his skull his the floor underneath him, his voice box shuffled, muffling him. When he was able to speak, it was staticy and glitchy.
Finally, Monty went back to his fists, but he raised them over his head this time and smashed down on Eclipse’s head, instead of just punching.
After about three of these, Monty finally stopped. He was too badly dented to hear or see why. His vision was blurry and his ears rang.
He could feel himself blacking out. The world was fading. Was he dying? Is this it?
It’s not the end for you yet, Eclipse.
The last thing Eclipse saw was a blurry blue blob, picking him up.

Wake up.
A pounding in Eclipse’s head flowed through his body like ink in water. It started at a surface point and kept moving until Eclipse felt like he couldn’t move at all. Was this the afterlife?
“I know you’re awake. Get up, reject.” A voice tore through Eclipse’s fog. For some reason, he could hear quite well, although he faintly remembered not being able to hear at all.
He opened his eyes. The world was still circling him, but it was because he was dizzy. Everything else could be seen just fine.
He tried sitting up, but the heavy weight of his dizziness pushed him down. He groaned.
“You’re being dramatic.” Crescent appeared into Eclipse’s view. He was frowning.
“Hwha?” Eclipse groaned out. Crescent sighed, clearly fed up.
What even happened?
“Monty beat you up pretty bad. You are LUCKY I came back when I did. Otherwise, you’d be pretty dead right about now.” Crescent backed off. Eclipse rubbed his aching skull and sat up to the best off his abilities. He was in the tower.
Sun must be nearby.
“You’re welcome!” Crescent didn’t smile. He looked like this whole situation was a huge inconvenience to him.
He probably only did it so that this could still be Sun’s body.
“Thank you…” Eclipse muttered. He could’ve died. Crescent at least deserved a bit of praise.
“Don’t mention it. Seriously. Thanks to Monty… Sun’s dead.” Eclipse’s eyes widened.
‘What?”
“That body is DESTROYED! It was supposed to be for Sun! I TOLD him to go easy until the transfer!” Crescent was fuming.
You told him to go easy?
“So… now what? Where’s Monty?” Eclipse looked around frantically. As frantically as his headache would allow.
“Probably crawling around in the basement somewhere. That’s where I left him anyway.” Crescent fidgeted around with some post-it notes around his room. Some of them had fallen off the walls.
“Crawling? Did you beat him up or something?” Eclipse tugged at his own pants. They were pretty ripped.
“Shot him. A lot. Dragged him down there to get the spare body.” He glanced at Eclipse.
“Where’s the spare?” Eclipse was genuinely surprised Crescent would go out of his way to hurt Monty. It just seemed unlike him.
“Nearby. I’m debating whether to transfer you and try to repair Sun’s body. Or use it for Sun.” The body transfers have never worked no matter what Crescent tried.
Eclipse looked down at his own body. It seemed beyond repair. He felt up his face.
No wonder it hurt so bad! It was smashed! Completely! How was he alive!?
Eclipse screamed and backed up on the table he woke up on. He looked down at his hands. There was fingers missing!
“I COULD’VE DIED!” Eclipse clutched his rays. He knew he had already lost some, but they were all nearly gone. He could only feel one slightly intact.
“Well, yeah? I told you this.” Crescent said nonchalantly.
“I’M HIDEOUS!” For some reason, Eclipse couldn’t stop screaming. He couldn’t control his breathing. He was panting. Was this a panic attack?
Stop it!
STOP IT!
You can’t DO THIS! NOT IN FRONT OF MOON! STOP!!
“HEY! Pull yourself together!” Crescent screamed. He was getting closer, and for some reason that just made Eclipse more afraid.
“STAY BACK! DON’T TOUCH ME!” Eclipse glared up at Crescent like a mad dog. A beaten mad dog.
“You’re acting crazy, right now! I literally saved you and this is how you pay me back!?” Crescent came closer.
Eclipse screamed and threw himself off the table. His legs hurt too terribly to run, but he crawled. He crawled like his life depended on it. Unfortunately, he didn’t get far. He never could.
Crescent picked him up by his neck. “Since you want to be SO disrespectful! And run away so bad, here! Let me help you out!” Crescent smiled at the last words. He dragged Eclipse to the tower’s balcony.
“Crescent don’t-” Eclipse choked up. “Just let me go!” Oily tears fell down his face.
How embarrassing.
“Oh, I’ll let you go alright!” And with that, Crescent threw Eclipse as hard as he could, right over the balcony.
Eclipse fell. He looked back up at Crescent as the moon smiled. Eclipse didn’t smile back.

Chapter 7: Nightmare Come True
Summary:
Eclipse would always have strange nightmares... sometimes about Lunar and that... Earth
But this is no nightmare...
Chapter Text
Eclipse would always have the strangest dreams. They were usually set in the fiery hellscape that Eclipse woke up in. Sometimes the nice him was there. Usually Lunar, Bloodmoon, and Solar Flare were there. Sometimes Moon, but Eclipse could never tell if it was his Moon or Crescent.
These dreams were usually nightmares. Almost always nightmares.
He looked down at his body. Crescent didn’t end up transferring him. He would use the spare for Sun again, and Eclipse had to continue to suffer in this one. Crescent said it was “too Eclipsed for Sun”. Whatever that means.
Eclipse was curled up behind the desk. Due to his state (and Moons), the daycare was closed almost indefinitely.
Sun still zombied around sometimes to clean, but he’d been doing it less and less. As if his own backup code was dying too.
Moon was angry about this, but he didn’t beat up Eclipse over it (thankfully). He just isolated.
Eclipse knew most Moons did that (he was guilty of this too), but it was strange for Crescent to just… leave him alone. No threats. Nothing.
Crescent didn’t speak a word anymore. He just stayed in the tower and layed next to Sun’s body. They almost looked like brothers again.
Rustling came from the ball pit. It wasn’t faint either. Someone was in there. Eclipse slowly rose up from behind the desk, but only enough to peak over the top.
“Well, I’ve never met him, so I can’t tell you whether this is a good idea or not. But you wanted to do this, Lunar, and you said you trusted him.” That voice was oddly familiar. It was feminine.
…
LUNAR!?
Wait, she said Lunar! Lunar! HERE!?
No no no
This is bad.
REAL BAD!
Eclipse could barely see into the ball pit, but two figures walked out. One was abnormally tall and… green… That can’t be the ditz, can it?
The other was VERY small and light blue. That must be Lunar.
He looks different.
WHO CARES! He’s HERE! He’s not supposed to be here! This is MY home! MY safe space! HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!
They were getting closer. They seemed to be looking for him.
No no no no NO!
How suspicious would it be if he just kept hiding? They’d look back here eventually. What would he even say? Should he tell them to leave? SHould he pretends he doesn’t know them? That would get them to go!
But Lunar…
“Found him! Oh…” The ditz (Earth), peeked over the counter suddenly, making Eclipse jump. She must’ve noticed how bad of a condition he was in.
Eclipse slowly stood up, trying to act natural.
Nothing about this is natural. It’s all wrong.
Lunar definitely was different. He had a hood on that matched his pants. White and… yellow… Lunar’s color wasn’t yellow. Why did he have yellow!? Eclipse would’ve never given him yellow!
“Hey…” Eclipse started nervously. “Lunar you look… different.” He had to stop himself from saying ugly. Because really, he did look REALLY ugly. The giant bimbo wasn’t much better.
“You’re one to talk.” He seemed nervous, but not out right afraid. As if he knew that this Eclipse couldn’t possibly be anything other than what he said he was. How naive.
“Yeah, what happened to you?” Earth didn’t even bother to introduce herself to, for all she knows, a stranger.
What a complete disappointment of a person.
“Crescent.” Eclipse put out bluntly.
“Who?” They both said at the same time.
I’ve never hated two people more in my life. I hope they rip each other apart.
“My Moon.” Eclipse explained annoyed. He didn’t want to give too many details on his life. He already didn’t want to be talking to these… freaks.
“Are you ok?” Earth asked.
Oh no you won’t! You are NOT going to do your stupid therapy BS on ME AGAIN!
“Fine.” Eclipse glared at her. He hoped she’d get the message that it was a sensitive subject.
Her face dropped, but she didn’t pry.
Good. I hope you are miserable because you didn’t get to psychoanalyze another Eclipse.
“Anyway, why are you here?” Eclipse crossed his arms
“Lunar wanted to see you again!”
“He can speak for himself.” Eclipse quickly cut her off. Her voice was grating.
“Oh..” They both said at the same time.
Stop doing that. It’s unnecessary.
“Well… Earth thinks I’m not doing well when it comes to… my trauma.” He fidgeted with his fingers. It ticked Eclipse off.
You’re “trauma”. Yeah right! You think YOU’RE traumatized, pipsqueak? Just WAIT!
“That bad, huh?”
“It was awful!” Lunar screamed. He covered his eyes as if he was about to cry. Earth rushed to his side. Eclipse rolled his eyes.
“Don’t you think that this is a little dramatic?” Earth looked up, hurt.
“Oh right… You’ve probably been through worse.” Eclipse said faintly. Earth looked between the two as if trying to decide who to defend. She ended up staying quiet.
What a hypocrite. If she cares so much about Lunar, she should’ve caught that and thrown it right back at me tenfold. What a terrible “sister”.
“Lunar wants to know if he can come over to hang out with you now that he’s back.” Earth smiled and stood up straight. Lunar seemed to compose himself.
“No.” Eclipse said bluntly. He didn’t want to deal with these knotheads more than he already was.
“Why?” Lunar asked, widening his disgusting eyes. Uh oh.
Better come up with a good excuse or they’ll send Moon to investigate you.
“Too dangerous. I mean, look at me!” He opened his arms to show off the extent of the damage. Even doing a little turn for good measure.
“Oh yeah.” Earthwas sympathetic. Eclipse didn’t need it. He didn’t want it. He wanted her to GO AWAY!
“That is a good point.” Lunar giggled. Eclipse almost gagged. He always hated that giggle. It always sounded fake and insincere.
Whenever Eclipse tried being nice back when Lunar was first made and cracked jokes, Lunar would always do that SAME giggle. Every time Eclipse thought Lunar was mocking him. So he stopped quickly. And he showed Lunar what happens to people who lie to him.
If he had to hear it one more time, he might just tackle him here and now and beat him to a pulp. What was Earth gonna do? She’s too stupid to stop him. Besides, he needed to let some anger out.
They were talking while Eclipse was fantasizing about violence. Eventually, they said their goodbyes.
“Bye, Eclipse!” They both said (this time NOT at the same time, thankfully) and left through the portal. Being called Eclipse felt weird, as if they knew, but still treated him differently.
Strange…
Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again.
You didn’t seem happy to see your brother.
No, I wasn’t.
Chapter 8: Promise I'm Gon' Make it Out
Summary:
Don't you want to come home?
Notes:
I lost motivation halfway through the chapter if you can't tell lol
But I wanted to get this out so I can take a break lol, I'll probably try to work on smaller projects, I have too much big stuff going on lol
Chapter Text
Eclipse tried not to doubt his abilities. Never. He made sure his failures were always someone else’s fault. He never doubted himself or his intentions or his choices.
I don’t believe that.
Did I ever tell you otherwise?
Well-
THEN I LIED.
Recently, Eclipse had been… hearing things. No, not just that random voice in his head! Things around the daycare… Something sneaking around. He always felt watched these days too. It was… creepy.
He wondered who would watch him. With the daycare closed, he didn’t really do anything interesting these days. Lie on the floor, clean if he was bored, stay on the computer all day (until the power shut off), and cry.
It was so dark nowadays, if someone WAS watching him, he wouldn’t be able to see them.
Crescent barely came out of the tower but when he did, he found Eclipse right away and just… sat by him, silently. One time they talked.
That’s when Eclipse gave Monty the nickname Montague. Crescent chuckled. Then he cried. They didn’t talk anymore.
Silence was ok with Eclipse.
This was probably the first Moon Eclipse had ever cared about. At least a little. He wasn’t sure why he did. Crescent was horrible. But maybe he’d prefer the familiar of getting beaten everyday to nowadays where everything was strange and eerie.
Today was no different. Crescent was sitting by Eclipse. They both remained quiet.
“Hey, Crescent?” Eclipse broke the silence. It echoed.
“Hmm?”
“Do you… ever think about hitting me again?” Eclipse looked over at him. Crescent didn’t return the look.
“No. Too tired.” He mumbled.
“Do you want to sleep?” Eclipse offered. Without answering Crescent drooped his head onto Eclipse’s shoulder.
This was nice. Something that had never happened between the two.
Crescent was really chilled out now. But with no power, Sun couldn’t hold on anymore. That’s why Crescent was this way. Not because he suddenly cared.
Still, to Eclipse, it was a welcome change.
“You still awake?” Eclipse whispered.
“Mhm.” He mumbled.
“Do you have a portal?” Eclipse thought to ask. He wasn’t sure if he would leave or not. He definitely couldn’t leave Crescent now. Although, where would Eclipse go?
“Did. No power.” Crescent whispering and mumbling really made it hard to understand him.
“Anyway to bring it back?” Eclipse thought to ask.
“Do you want to leave?” Crescent got off of Eclipse’s shoulder.
“Do you want to come with me?” At that, Crescent finally turned to look at Eclipse.
Silence.
“Eclipse… I just want to say… I’m so-”
CRASH!
Something interrupted them. A loud banging noise coming from the play structures. Eclipse jumped. It was an uncontrollable reaction at this point.
Soon, it became very apparent what was coming.
Monty.
He was much different since Eclipse last saw him. His paint was chipped, half his face was ripped clean off, and he only had one good arm. There was also a giant hole through his chest. How he was still alive was beyond Eclipse.
The gator tore through the play structures. Picking things up and throwing them as hard as he could towards the two robots.
The two split up and ran in opposite directions. Eclipse towards the desk and Crescent towards the ballpit.
They both hid in their respective areas as Monty hunted around, throwing things whenever he could. With the lights off, it made it much easier to hide. Slowly, Eclipse creeped closer, hugging the wall, to Crescent. He had to make sure he was ok.
Or…
Maybe he should let Monty kill him? Crescent was able to beat up on Eclipse all the time!..
Maybe he shouldn’t bother.
There had to be a way to activate the portal.
“I know what you’re thinking.” Crescent whispered. “I don’t care if you want to leave me for dead, but I know how to activate the portal.””
“Really?” Eclipse whispered back.
“We can use Montague as a power source. We need to drag that wire,” he pointed at a wire connected to the desk computers, “to the ball pit. Then push Monty in. The frequency of the portal will fry his systems and suck away his power. It’ll activate, but he might not die, he could still get you if you don’t hurry.” Crescent whispered.
“Ok, you get the wire. I’ll wrastle the gator.” Eclipse snuck off to the ball pit. He had to distract Monty until he could see Crescent.
He stood up on the fence to get a better look around and to maybe attract Monty’s attention. Attention he got.
The gator jumped out of nowhere and tackled Eclipse into the ball pit. Eclipse screamed until his head went under the surface, knocking the wind out of him. The gator tried punching and biting, but the balls got in the way, protecting Eclipse.
Eclipse had to get out of this pit fast, otherwise he would end up the power source to the portal.
He struggled, trying to break out of the gator’s grasp. Eventually, there was an opening. Eclipse kicked Monty off of him and swam away out of reach.
Monty roared, angrily.
“Crescent! Hurry!” Eclipse shouted, swimming around trying to dodge Monty’s swings. He was hit once, but managed to stay out of reach.
“Get out of the pit and I’d be faster!” He shouted back. At this, Monty turned his attention elsewhere, probably to where Crescent was.
Eclipse jumped up and tackled Monty. Of course, it didn’t knock Monty down, but it did turn his attention back to Eclipse.
“Offa me!” Monty screamed in his thick southern accent. No time for formalities anymore. He threw Eclipse off of his shoulders towards the play structures. Eclipse wouldn’t be surprised if his back was broken now.
Suddenly, Montague screamed. He started flashing brightly. Eclipse looked over to see Crescent shoving the wire into the ball pit.
The portal flashed open brightly. It was blinding, especially in the darkness that Eclipse had become so used to.
“Go!” Crescent screamed.
“What about you?” Eclipse ran over to him, standing on the ramp leading into it.
“GO!” Crescent pushed Eclipse into the portal without an answer.
Why does every Moon do that?
Inside the portal was a beautiful array of colors as he was transported to his destination. Finally he felt solid ground.

Chapter Text
Eclipse groaned. He certainly had been roughed up. Stars, he hated portals.. nothing but troubles. Nothing but… whatever.
“Whoever’s in the portal, I’d walk out of I were you.” A familiar voice called to him. His hearing sensors rung. Probably from the quick dimension hop he did. Then he heard something else, something… building.
Eclipse growled and raised himself up from the ballpit. It was deeper than he remembered. He forced himself to stand, his body aching from the tustle he had with Montague. Everything hurt.
“Wha…” Moon started, unsure what he was seeing. Eclipse was so broken now he barely resembled Nice Eclipse anymore. He almost looked like.
“You’re supposed to be dead!.. I think…” Moon yelled down. At first, Eclipse froze. How did he know?
He doesn’t. Keep your cool.
“No! No..! I’m-” Eclipse had to catch his breath. He fell back down to his knees. “Moon… stop.”
“Good god…” Moon rubbed the back of his head. He wasn't sure who he was seeing at this moment.
“I know, I know. I look terrible. I’m somehow not dead…”
Not technically lying there. See? You’re already on the path to good!
But why here of all dimensions…
“What?” Moon crossed his arms. He seemed angrier now.
“I helped you!”
Also not technically a lie. I tried.
“OH FOR GOD-” Moon cut himself off and the charging noise died down. Eclipse was right to stand up when he did or he could’ve been shot.
“Were you going to shoot me?” He asked panting.
“Well, yeah! Portal couldn’t identify you and it turned on without a command. I had every right to ready myself.” Moon put his hands on his hips. He’s still so sassy.
“Well, I didn’t really had a say in where I went, and I couldn’t get in touch with you.” Eclipse started. He was breathing normally and was standing taller now. Good.
I guess this means Crescent didn’t follow me.
“Get out of there.” Moon flicked his hand for Eclipse to follow him. He sounded so much like Crescent, Eclipse was almost expecting to get smacked for his insolence.
Jeez, now your inner monologue sounds like Lunar, how more pathetic could you be?
Is sounding like Lunar such a bad thing?
Yes.
“Why do you look like that?” Moon asked, getting an up and down view of Eclipse now.
“You mean why am I dented to hell and back?” Eclipse smiled. It was funny when he joked about it, but if Moon did he’d probably have the right mind to get violent.
Moon nodded.
“Why don’t you ask the Moon I live with? And Monty for that matter.” Eclipse pointed back to the portal. He was still smiling, for some odd strange reason.
“Why didn’t you tell me it was that bad?” Moon asked genuinely. Eclipse scowled.
What do you care? You never cared.
Remember. You’re someone else now.
Let me be petty.
“Our power was shut off. Fazbear couldn’t deal with only having one working daycare attendant and the other being a violent beast. They closed down the daycare and trapped us inside. I had nothing. And I think the “Creator” had something to do with it too, but I’m not certain yet.” It felt weird not needing to lie to Moon. Eclipse didn’t like it.
“Yikes.”
“Yeah.”
“How’d you get the portal to work then?” Moon asked.
Eclipse smiled to himself.
A doner power source.
He chuckled to himself. Montague should be dead now. That much electric shock should fry his systems. But then Crescent…
Why do you care?
Good question, stranger. Props for using my own words against me. Brownie points!
…
That’s what I thought.
Moon was still staring at Eclipse, awaiting the answer.
“Don’t worry about that. It probably won’t be working for a while though. No one’s getting through.” Eclipse crossed his arm and smiled smugly.
“You’re not upset you can’t go back?” Moon asked almost solemnly.
Shoot. That may be suspicious.
“If I go back, I’ll probably be killed so… take that how you will.” Eclipse fixed his face and nearly breathed a sigh of relief at Moon dropping the subject.
I never liked it there. Never liked anyone there either.
“Do you want me to blacklist the dimension?” Moon asked, stepping closer. Eclipse had to suppress the urge to back away.
“Don’t bother.” Eclipse waved his hand dismissively. Moon nodded and backed up himself.
Did I do something to make him do that?
“So how have you been recently, you know, since we haven’t been in touch.” Eclipse put his hands on his hips and looked around the daycare. It didn’t look like it changed much. Does nothing ever change here?
“Stressed.” Moon rubbed his face and walked off, Eclipse followed but not very closely.
“What happened? People coming back from the dead?” Eclipse chuckled.
Now that WOULD be an issue, wouldn’t it, Moon?
“Yeah, actually.”
What.
“Ruin has been giving us a hard time. You know who Ruin is, right?”
“I can’t say I don’t have an idea who that is.” Eclipse crossed his arms. Moon stopped.
“He’s the Amalgam. There’s an Eclipse in there-”
“What?” Eclipse interrupted.
“Ruin has a virus and it’s not good. He’s a Sun and Moon fused together. Anyway. He…” Moon stopped. He was staring down at the ground, seemingly lost in thought.
Is it the astrals? Is it me? Oh crap! I didn’t think about them! What if they expose me? What if they kill me?!
“He brought back Bloodmoon.”
“WHAT!?” Eclipse jumped back, earning a wide-eyed stare from Moon.
Bloodmoon is back!? He’s alive!? No! He’ll ruin me! He’ll… HE’LL-!
Bloodmoon… Bloodmoon has been nothing but an issue for Eclipse. First there was July… then there was the attack and working with Lunar, then there was the Killcode alliance, and now!…
Bloodmoon could threaten to be his downfall once again. Bloodmoon could… he…
“Hey, I didn’t really know you knew who he was.” Moon stepped closer and put his hand on Eclipse’s arm. Eclipse had every right to pull away but, right now… he didn’t mind. For some reason.
How sweet.
“It’s whatever, just- …I can’t imagine how Sun is taking this.” Eclipse looked away from Moon. Technically, he wasn’t lying again.
“Not well.” Moon admitted. “I feel terrible, I don’t know how to fix all this.”
“You’ll figure it out.” Eclipse said before thinking.
I guess if I get friendly with him, I’ll be less suspicious , but…
I REALLY don’t want to.
You don’t think he deserves kindness.
Exactly.
“Thanks, Eclipse.” Moon smiled at him. SMILED. If Moon knew that this was the real Eclipse, he probably wouldn’t be so smiley. Even Eclipse felt bitter that it wasn’t really directed at him, but still… the sight was so foreign to him, he couldn’t help but almost feel…
No.
You are NOT loved by these people. If they knew, you’d be torn apart.
“You look like you need repairs…” Moon said concerned.
“I can fix myself later.” Eclipse traced the edges of a dent on the back of his head. It hurt, badly.
“Are you sure? i can help-” Moon started.
“I said I can do it myself.” Eclipse groaned. Moon nodded, acknowledging Eclipse’s space.
“Just thought I’d offer.” Moon paused. “Where are you gonna go?” He asked finally, after an awkward pause. Eclipse had to stop and think. Where was he going to stay? Certainly not with Sun and Moon. Should he even stay in this dimension?
“I think I’ll be in the basement for now.” He said, refusing to look Moon in the eye.
Moon looked like he wanted to say something, but stayed quiet. “Ok, well, I need to go… check up on Sun.” He said awkwardly and walked off, glancing back at Eclipse, as if he no longer knew the animatronic in front of him.
I messed up…
