Chapter Text

Flotsam and Jetsam were hiding in the shadows, while Ariel swam around her broken and destroyed treasure trove, heartbroken that her father just destroyed everything inside, she cursed him and vowed she would hate him forever before she rested by the broken statue of a human crying into her arms.

It was time for action, Ursula would finally set her plan to take control over the ocean into motion and it starts with a heartbroken little mermaid, the prize daughter of King Triton, ruler of all the ocean.
The eels made their move and began trying to convince Ariel to come to the sea witch, telling her that she could become a human, to walk on land and be free of her fathers control. independent at last. Ariel's eyes grew instantly at the mention of freedom, agreeing to follow the eels to Ursula's home.
Ursula heard it all. laughing at how naive the teenage princess is, her plan was falling into place faster than expected, she began to gloat to herself out loud, stopping only just in time as her next victim arrived, followed behind her was Flotsam and Jetsam who began circling the door with their electric discharge creating a barrier in front of the entrance to her Mosasaur carcass lair unbeknownst to Ariel, she wont be leaving the way she came in.

"Ah princess its so lovely to see you, its been so long since I've been to the palace, however there's no time for small talk lets get to why you are really here. Daddy was a bad man again wasn't he? Always so cruel to you and I, My babies saw everything my sweet, talk about an overreaction!" Ursula was trying and somehow succeeding in making Ariel feel understood.

"Now sweetheart lets get to why you are REALLY here, you want to be free from your watery restraints and live up there on land, dancing, partying and of course. seeing that handsome prince!" Ursula laughed but quickly returned to her serious expression.
"I can give you what you want, but only for a short period. I can make you human for three days. and i mean THREE. no more, no less. But it does come at a cost. You understand? how is someone meant to afford all the ingredients for the potions i brew to help merfolk like yourself?"
Ursula was trying to appeal to Ariel's kind soul but also to tug on her heart strings by promising her exactly what she wanted.

"I..I.. i don't have any money, i don't exactly carry a purse around with me, i left everything at the trove and well..." Ariel's eyes dropped, realizing what she wanted was no longer in reach since she had no way of paying Ursula to help but then her head shot up, she had an idea!
"I'm a fast swimmer! i can fetch ingredients for you faster than any fish you know! or i could help you find other merfolk that need you, ill do anything!" Ariel's eyes grew again with a hint of desperation

"Oh princess don't worry about money! There's more than just one way to pay for my services! Ursula gawked, one of her tentacles wrapping around Ariel's waist gently to not alarm the princess too soon, she is so close to her prize, just a little more she thought to herself before grinning.
"However princess in my experience when someone says they would do anything, there is always something that spoils the deal." Ursula spoke softly to Ariel testing how desperate the princess really is.

"Anything! i'll do anything, i just don't want to go back to that damn castle and marry some random merman my father thinks 'is best for me', please ill do whatever i need to do!" Ariel's arm gently grabbed Ursula's, showing a sign of desperation to be free.

"Alright princess, there is ONE method of payment that ill accept, it comes in parts but i promise, when the payment is fulfilled you are free to go where you like!" Ursula Smiled, slightly menacingly but Ariel was too distracted to realize.

"YES, PLEASE YES, ILL DO ANYTHING! THANK YOU SO MUCH UR-" Ursula placed a tentacle over Ariel's mouth cutting her off before she could finish

Ariel suddenly got nervous, goosebumps all over her body, something felt wrong about this... Blood Contracts are a very dark magic but even worse is that if signed.. they are 100% legal, magically binding. "I don't think i can do this.. i'm sorry i wasted your time Ursula, please forgive me. I'll see myself out.." Ariel sighed and turned to swim to the exit.

"Fine then princess. but this offer is one time only. if you leave you go back to daddy and you never get a chance to be free again! Such a Poor Unfortunate Soul" Ursula dropped her head in disappointment attempting to pressure the mermaid.

Ariel instantly turned back to the contract. her heart racing, she doesn't even know what she is giving Ursula in return but the reward is too tempting to ignore. The contract glowed a golden yellow before vanishing into Ursula's cabinet. Ursula's devilish smile returned, grinning from ear to ear. She has her prize. and she is about to show her how much fun a human can be. Not for Ariel, but for Ursula. Ursula warned, however before Ariel could question what the substance would do, Ursula blew the dust towards Ariel who quickly covered her eyes as the dust swirled around her, she felt a slight tightness around her chest for a moment, worried that she accidentally ingested some she began to cough out of panic but the feeling quickly subsided and in fact her chest felt more free than she had ever felt, It took her a moment before she opened her eyes and realized. Ursula laughed in the background as the smoke surrounded Ariel.

Moments later. Ariel let out a deafening scream of agony.
