Today is Going to be EGGcellent!

Summary:

Origins!Tommy adopts an egg. Nobody's really sure what to make of it.

Work Text:

Origins SMP is a weird place, where weird things are happening all the time. Eventually, you just get used to it, and learn to go with the flow.

This in part is why, when Tommy finds a giant ass egg in the middle of nowhere, he doesn't really question it.

He had just finished up a mining exhibition and was coming up to the surface.  He hated being in the caves  stupid bird instincts  so he wanted out quickly.

 Which is why he didn't notice it was pouring until he was already thoroughly soaked.

 Looking down at his clothes, he scowled in disgust. His wings shifted, feeling heavy with water. That was gonna be a bitch to deal with later.

Sighing, Tommy began his journey home. He had gone quite far since all the good lute near his base had been taken long ago, when he had first settled down there.

 As he trudged towards his home the young avian brought his wings around himself, tying to conserve some sort of warmth.  It didn't work, of course, but it was worth a shot!

 It didn't take too long for the pub(e) to come into view, but it still felt like forever.  While he was walking it had somehow started raining even harder, which he hadn't thought possible with how much it was already pelting him.

Tommy made the hasty decision to shelter in the pub(e) while waiting for the rain to die down, but before he could sprint forward something caught his eye.

 The something being an egg.

 The second he realized what it was, his heart melted and he quickly rushed over, squatting down beside it.

 Now, this wasn't some normal egg that, say, a chicken would lay.  This particular egg was huge. Bigger than an Ostrich egg! (Don't question how he knows what ab ostrich is.)

 By now Tommy was in full on instincts mode, seeing an egg outside, all alone in the rain and cold. So what does he do?

Why, claim it as his child, of course!
