Chapter Text
"Hello, my name is Tracy Anderson-Hummel and I talk to myself in my head. No not really but I guess that's what I'm doing right now. See I'm not crazy my family is. Like seriously one time my dad Kurt came barging into my preschool almost sobbing because I forgot my rain boots, It didn't even rain that day. Any way my dads are kind of famous, depending on who you ask. See they're big in the "theatre community" aka hacks who can sing well but who were never pretty enough to put on T.V. I think it's better if people see them from far away anyway that's how I like to view them. Anyway, my dads are really great honestly they are. Sometimes though, they can be a bit overbearing. Getting my first period was harder for them than it was for me. They spent hours researching menstrual products and banned tampons once they found out you can get toxic shock from wearing them too long. But they love me I guess. You see the real problem is my mom Rachel and my half-sister Finny. I know calling her my half-sister makes me sound like the bad guy she's only 11 I get it but still. She is truly an absolute TERROR! The problem is her parents Rachel's all wrapped up in making a mini-me to "protect the Berry empire" or something so she'll give Finny whatever she wants as long as it makes her talented. Along with that her dad, Jesse, can't get over "just how cute she is", Mix that together and you get a demon for a child. Anyway were having our monthly "humelberryandersonst.james" dinners and next month I start my senior year of high school. Oh I could truly ta-"
"Tracy! Earth to Tracy".
"Oh sorry what?"
"Just asked if chicken was ok for dinner"
"Oh yeah yeah fine whatever."
"Ok then", Blaine got up with an eyebrow raised at her.
Tracy got up to and walked into her room knowing this is going to be the only quiet time she would get before that little hellspawn showed up. Tracy made a habit of putting away all of the important things in her room. Finny tended to grab what was not hers. She put away her jewelry, books, but most importantly, the note from Jeremy. Jeremy and Tracy had been secretly dating since last May when school ended. She knew her parents would freak if they knew and besides it was just like Jeremy said, "Parents just make things more complicated". He was right they really weren't even dating they just go places then go back to his house or car to hook up. She wouldn't be able to explain to her high school sweetheart's dads that she was just having a casual hookup with a guy from school.
JEREMY: HEY CUTIE, WE STILL ON FOR NEXT FRIDAY?
TRACY: YEAH OC<3
JEREMY: AND SINCE MY PARENTS ARE OUT OF TOWN I WAS WONDERING IF YOU'D WANNA SPEND THE NIGHT?
TRACY: I'LL SEE WHAT I CAN DO ;)
*knock knock knock*
"Hey, Trac Rach and Jesse are gonna be here soon," Kurt said peering at Tracy's phone
"Who are you texting?"
"No one, hey anyway did dad get that part?"
"Unfortunately no but hey can't get too discouraged right?"
"With people as talented as you guys I guess," She said with her cheesy "I'm buttering you up so say yes" smile
"Yeah I guess" Kurt responded
"Anyway I wanted to know if you and Daddy would let me have a sleepover with my friend Jenny next Friday?"
Tracy only called Blaine daddy when she wanted something. Kurt and Blaine will never admit it out loud, but they miss being "daddy" and "dada" now they're both just dad. In times when she really needed something Blaine was daddy.
"Sure honey, why not."
"Thank you thank you!" She got up excitedly and hugged her dad.
*ding-dong*
"Kurt Trac they're here."
And so the nightmare begins
Tracy and Kurt hurried down the stairs and in their living room stood the ever so happy St.Berry klan.
All Tracey could focus on was Finny. She had on an entire Lulu Lemon outfit on SHE WAS ELEVEN. Tracey couldn't lie and say that that didn't make her a little upset inside. Your parents win a couple of trophies and suddenly you're someone walking around with an outfit that defiantly costs over $500. Kurt thought Lulu Lemon was too overpriced for what it was. He often said, "What's the point I mean they're just workout clothes spend your money on something worthwhile."
Tracy wanted to hit her she always got everything she asked for all the time and she just about had it.
"Hi, Finny I like your outfit."
"Thank you Mommy got it yesterday."
"Isn't it so pretty?", Rachel chimed in
"Love it", gritted Tracey.
"Why don't you two girls go upstairs and play and we'll call you down once dinner is ready"., Blaine suggested.
Tracy didn't even like her dads in her room let alone Finny I mean they know she steals stuff that's why she has to hide the good stuff. But inviting a kleptomaniac into her room was a bad idea. She could see the headline now, DAUGHTER OF BROAD VETS KILLS HALF SISTER. She smiled slightly at that thought.
"Sure why not", she responded
So the two girls walked back up the stairs together.

Chapter Text
"So how's it going?", asked Tracey finally breaking the silence in her room.
"Mommy has a new show. Ooh, and she's taking me to get clothes for middle school."
"I take it you're excited for middle school?"
"Oh yeah totally"
Tracey hated middle school every single second of it. Kids aged 11-14 don't seem to understand or even like people who are different. Her dads had been telling her her whole life that she is special. That their family is special. But, middle school is the kind of place where you learn that "special" really means weird. She resented her dads for two years. Blaming them for everything that was wrong with her. This is when she stopped calling them Daddy and Dada
"That's good."
"Oh yeah totally. Mommy thinks I'll be able to be in their theatre shows and be a big star like her."
"I'm sure you will be. But if you want to be cool you have to stop calling your parents Mommy and Daddy it's weird."
"Why?"
"Because no one will tell you this but the kids at middle school are awful. Especially if you call your parents mommy and daddy. They'll eat you alive"
"No they won't", Finny whined
Tracey got a kick out of messing with her.
"Oh yes, they most certainly will. Middle school is a dog-eat-dog world."
"You're just being stupid."
"The teachers don't even care if people are mean to you they'll be mean right back."
"Really?" "Oh yeah, they only hire the most brutal teachers in middle school. One time I walked into a teacher's classroom and she shoved me up against the wall and said I looked like a troll."
This is not how that story went. You see what happened was Tracey walked into her English class in 7th grade and some kid shoved her into the book case and said her and her family were fags. She never told her dads about this. She wanted them to believe that in New York kids were different. However, if you live in a nice home in a white neighborhood with conservative straight people you'll get bigoted children.
"That's awful"
"Oh yeah, it is, so you gotta learn to fight or else". Tracey took a dramatic bite out of an apple sitting on her desk
Finny started to cry and Tracey started to panic.
"No no no no Finny see it's funny laugh please it's funny."
"I'm getting my mommy"
Finny went to open the door and Tracey jumped in front of her to stop her.
"See I really can't let you do that."
"Why? You're telling lies and they're scary."
"I need my parents not mad at me
.
Tracey needed to go to that sleepover she needed to be good so her parents wouldn't take her phone and see who "Julie" really was.
"Besides, you don't want to seem like a baby right."
Tracey knew this was so wrong and so manipulative, but she also knew if she didn't whip her into shape now someone else would do it not as nicely. She was helping Finny that's what sisters do really Finny should thank her rather than running down to her parents crying that would make her a baby. She would get eaten for that.
"I'M NOT A BABY!", Finny shouted tears still streaming down her face
"Could've fooled me." Tracey chuckled
In hindsight Tracey felt bad but her unbridled jealousy and hatred toward her half-sister fueled her to keep going. She wanted Finny to feel the same way that she did she wanted her to feel different and weird. "Finny deserves this", Tracey thought, "This is what's coming to her if she doesn't harden up soon."
She wasn't new to her Dad's, "do it Hummel" mentality, it's how she was raised. Kurt wanted her to be tough like him. Kurt and Blaine knew the world was a cruel place no matter how much progress was made. Tracey knew this but Finny didn't. Her parents were not gay, she got to feel normal so Tracey always resented her for this. Tracey wanted to be normal, and no matter how many times her parents tried to tell her their family was normal. She knew it wasn't normal and that will always hurt her.
"Well I I I'm not a baby. I'm going to be in 6th grade."
"Yeah? We'll see."
"Why are you being so mean?"
"I'm not being mean I'm being honest."
"Well, stop being so "honest" then."
"Whatever it's your funeral."
"Girls dinner.", Kurt called from the bottom of the stairs.
Tracey gave a dirty to Finny before opening the door to go downstairs. Tracey needed to keep a close eye on her sister for the rest of the night to make sure that she wouldn't slip up and tell. She knew her parents would be mad. It doesn't even matter to her what Rachel and Jesse think, she doesn't even really care for them. But she needs to be gone next Friday with Jeremy.
"What were you girls talking about?", Asked Rachel in her classic all to chipper voice
"Nothing", chimed Tracey a little to fast, "I was just giving Finny some advice on middle school. Telling her that it's all ok and not that scary". Tracey directed that last part right at Finny as if to say, ":don't you dare."
"Yep so excited
"I was just telling her middle school is nothing to worry about", Tracey ended that with a fake-cheesy smile.
"Tracey's going to be a senior.", Blaine said with a mouth full of salad.
Kurt nudged him on the arm before saying, "Oh yes she is we can't believe she's all grown up no
Blaine having now swallowed said, "She'll be 18 before we know it then she'll be off to college."
"Ooh college.", Clapped Rachel excitedly
"Oh yeah I guess. I mean I don't even know what I want to do yet so I guess we'll see".
"See what?", Asked Kurt
"If I want to go to college. I mean it's not for everyone you guys didn't even finish college."
"Well, college is for you and you'll finish.", Blaine said with a warning look at Tracey
"Well all I'm saying is there's many options outside of college."
"And we're saying that college is the only option for you", Kurt spat
"Why are you being so difficult?"
Blaine had had enough at this point. He couldn't believe his daughter was telling him that she wasn't going to go to college, and Kurt couldn't believe she was telling them now.
Kurt got up and said, "Jesse, Rachel, Finny, thank you guys so much for coming, but it looks like we have some things to discuss so we'll see you guys later".
"Oh ok well thanks for having us"., Jesse was saying as he was grabbing Rachel's purse.
As they were walking out the door, Blaine and Kurt were staring daggers into their daughters head
