Work Text:
Every so often, Jisung awoke with a deep ache in his chest, one that made it feel as though his lungs were being restricted with every breath. Today was one of those days. He breathed out an exhasperated huff as his alarm clock blared loudly in his ear. "Mmh," Minho's groggy voice hummed from behind him. 'Turn that off.' He threw a lazy arm over Jisung's waist and burried his face into his back.
Jisung reached over to the bedside table and switched his phone off, filling the small hotel room with silence and tranquility. Minho sighed against his shoulder blade. 'It's too early.' He whined sleepily. Jisung chuckled, turning around in Minho's embrace and gently running a thumb over his cheekbone. Through the thin walls of the hotel, he could hear the other members shuffling around in bed, sighing and groaning at their alarms.
'We need to get up now, Jagi.' He said softly, not wanting to be awake at this hour either. Minho smiled subconsiously when he opened his eyes and met Jisung's. Jisung knew that Minho adored his face the most in the morning. 'Stop smirking and get your ass out of bed.' He chuckled, pushing Minho's face away with his hand.
Kicking the duvet off both of their legs, Jisung clambered out of bed and trudged to the tiled bathroom. 'Meds 'Sungie!' Minho exclaimed from the bed. Without Minho's and Chan's reminders, Jisung would never remember to take his daily medication, and his chest would feel like this every morning. He rolled his eyes at the proud expression that Minho wore as he joined him in the bathroom. His torso was bare and he was only wearing shorts, exposing his well-built frame that Jisung would never get used to.
Jisung cleared his throat as an attempt to ease the growing tightness in his chest. 'You okay?' Minho questioned, his voice muffled by the toothbrush that was now hanging out of his mouth. The two of them had known each other for so long that they both knew the warning signs of discomfort or stress. Minho raised his eyebrows and nudged Jisung's side when he didn't respond.
'Hm?' Jisung looked up at Minho. He spat the toothpaste in his mouth and nodded, wiping at his lips. 'I'm fine.' He smiled tightly. Minho eyed him up and down before doing the same, spitting out toothpaste.
'What's up? Nervous about the airport?' Minho asked. Of course he wouldn't buy it. He reached up and retrieved both of their daily medications from the shelf. Jisung smiled gratefully and shrugged when he handed them to him. Sometimes he felt anxious about something that he didn't even know himself.
Suddenly someone was knocking at their room's door. 'Ten minutes until we leave!' Changbin's voice yelled, and Jisung sighed nervously. Minho squeezed by him, dragging his hand over his waist as he did so, and groggily waddled into the bedroom. He rummaged through both of their suitcases and retrieved outfits for both himself and Jisung.
'Clothes are on the bed!' He spoke clearly and Jisung nodded as he splashed cold water on his face, attempting to de-puff his face. The couple quickly changed and Minho double checked that they had all of their belongings before they left to meet with the other members in the lobby. It was quite a humourous sight- each member looked as though they'd been dragged through a bush backwards.
'Wow, you guys look great.' Minho chuckled sarcastically, earning a half-hearted smack on the arm from Changbin.
'The vans are gonna be here in a moment, so can everyone make sure that they have everything? Looking at you Hyunjin-ie. I'm not having another situation like Berlin.' He raised his eyebrows authoritively at Hyunjin, who gasped in offence. In Berlin, Hyunjin forgot to grab his phone from the van and their staff had to drive all the way back to their hotel. It was a two hour drive. Everyone triple-checked that they had collected all of their belongings before they were ushered out of the hotel lobby by managers.
'One, two, three, four.' Their driver counted as Hyunjin, Minho, Jisung and Jeongin scrambled into one of the vans. Hyunjin and Jeongin sat behind the drivers, and Minho and Jisung sat in the back. 'Everyone ready?' Their manager asked, turning around in his seat to face half of the members. Everyone nodded, and before they knew it, they had left the hotel. It was early enough that it was still dark outside, as the drive to the airport was an hour long, and they had to arrive at seven A.M.
'Lee Know-ssi, we're here.' His manager's voice spoke, suddenly pulling him out of his thoughts and making him aware of his surroundings. He must've fell asleep, because Jisung was smiling at him fondly despite the lingering anxiety in hismeyes. The pair of them clumsily climbed out of the van and Jisung lowered his headphones over his ears almost immediatley, flinching at the brightness of the camera flashes.
Minho kept his proximity with Jisung as close as possible. The airports outside of Korea were never usually troublesome, but the anxiety radiating off Jisung was making Minho painfully aware of how busy it was. He kept a hold of Jisung's hoodie (which used to be his own) as the members quickly made their way into the bustling airport. 'You both okay?' Chan pulled down his mask to ask quietly.
Minho nodded and continued to follow Jisung, knowing that they'd both be alright.
