Chapter Text

Michael woke up to screaming, it was close and terrified. The scream sounded young. What was going on? What happened? Where was he? Michael didn’t have much time to figure that out, the sound of heavy metal feet stomping against the floor was getting louder, closer. Michael shakingly stood up and peeked out of the hallway he woke up in. There,

running towards him was a child no older than 12 and looked a bit like Cassidy running from an … alligator animatronic? The gator was getting closer to the child, the kid won’t make it. Without thinking Michael jumped out of the hallway with something heavy in hand and threw it at the gator.

The gator stopped chasing the kid and the kid thankfully didn’t stop running. The gator turned towards him, its eyes a disgusting purple. “Hey little guy.” The gator growled, slowly stomping towards him. Michael threw another piece of trash at the gator. “Pick on someone your own size asshole!” Michael yelled, that hurt his throat. It’s been a while since he’s been able to talk. Wait. He can talk? Michael didn’t have enough time to process him talking again as the gator started running towards him. Michael yelped and started running. There’s no way he’s going to be able to outrun this guy. Well at least it’s going to be him and not the kid.

The gator was close, really close. Michael tried to dodge a claw with wobbly legs but the gator was able to run his claws over his side, sending Michael stumbling to the ground. Michael hissed and put a hand over his wound. The gator turned around and paused, staring at the blood. The gator blinked a few times and his eyes fading from purple to a red color. The gator seemed to wake up in a way, he looked around, clearly confused. “What? Why am I here?” The gator asked himself. Then his eyes landed on Michael who hasn’t moved from his position. “Shit. Little guy are you okay? Who am I kidding of course you’re not, you’re bleeding.” The gator said, stepping towards him.

Michael unconsciously scooted away. The gator stopped, he looked like a kicked puppy. “Did. Did I do that?” The gator asked, his voice sounded so hurt. Michael nodded. Michael didn’t think it was possible but the gator looked even sadder than before. “It’s okay. You weren’t in control.” Michael said. It didn’t seem to help much, the gator still looked really sad. “Can I help you get to a first aid station?” The gator asked. Michael nodded, he started to get up but the gator scooped him up into his arms causing him to yelp. “Sorry little guy.” The gator said. “Michael. My name is Michael.” Michael said. The gator laughed. “Pleasure to meet ya Michael I wish we met under better circumstances.” The gator said.

“What’s yours?” Michael asked. The gator looked at him confused. “Your name. I’m asking for your name.” Michael said. “You don’t know who I am?” The gator asked. Michael shook his head. “Monty. The name’s Monty. Do you at least know my friends? Freddy, Chica, and Roxy?” Monty asked. “I’m familiar with Freddy and Chica but not Roxy.” Michael said. “Why’re you here if ya don’t know half of us?” Monty asked. Michael shrugged. “I don’t even know where I am. I just woke up here. All I know is that I’m in a mall that looks like the 80s threw up in.” Michael said, earning a laugh from Monty.

“Welcome to Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex kid.” Monty said. Michael groaned. “What? Don’t like Freddy’s?” Monty asked. “Let’s just say I didn’t have the best experience with the past locations.” Michael said. “Past locations? You don’t look old enough to have been to any of them. They were all gone by the time you were born.” Monty said. Michael looked at him confused. “I’m in my 60s.” Michael said. “Nice try kid. You don’t look a day over 13.” Monty said, laughing. Michael horrified face shut him up immediately. “You were being serious?” Monty asked as they entered the first aid station.

Monty set Michael down on one of the beds and went looking for bandages. Michael looked into the mirror near by. Monty wasn’t lying, he looked 13. He was 13 again. He was wearing a gray tank top that was covered in blood. The sound of Cassidy’s screams as Fredbear bit down on his skull, killing him. Michael’s shirt was particularly covered in Cassidy’s blood. “Kid?” Monty softly said, gently placing a hand on Michael’s shoulder, snapping him out of it. Michael flinched a bit at the contact. “Sorry. Can you take your shirt off so I can get to the wound? I got you a new shirt too.” Monty said. Michael nodded quickly and did as Monty said.

Michael was silent as Monty clean and bandaged the wound, Monty helped him into the shirt and off the bed. “Hope you don’t mind the shirt, it was the first thing I saw.” Monty said. Michael didn’t care what the shirt was, he just needed out of that cursed tank top. The shirt had Gator Golf on it, must be Monty’s attraction. “It’s perfect thanks.” Michael said and paused for a moment. “We should find the other kid that’s running around here. I don’t know if he has anyone helping him.” Michael continued. Monty nodded and picked Michael up, setting him on his shoulders. “You never answered my question earlier.” Monty said as they left the first aid station.

“What question?” Michael asked, resting his chin in Monty’s red mullet. “About you actually being in your 60s. What’s all that about?” Monty said. “It’s a really long and confusing story. Let’s just say I’m supposed to be dead right now but my family has a long history of not dying though I didn’t expect to come back as a 13 year old. I was definitely at least 18 when I first died.” Michael explained. “That makes me even more confused.” Monty said. “Too bad, that’s all your getting out of me right now.” Michael said.

Eventually they found the kid talking to Freddy. “Hey Fred! Thank Scott your normal too. I was wondering the little guy didn’t have anyone helping him.” Monty said walking over to the two. The kid was about to run off before noticing Michael. “Monty. You’re back! Who is this?” Freddy asked, gesturing to Michael. “This is Michael, he’s the reason I’m no longer chasin ya.” Monty said. “Why don’t you have pants.” Michael said, staring at Freddy. “I- what?” Freddy questioned and the kid giggled. “Monty has pants. I can only assume Roxy’s a girl based off the name and I know Chica is. But I’m sure they have some kind of pants though if anything it looks like underwear cause Fazbear entertainment is weird like that. But you only have leg warmers. That’s so unfair. You deserve some pants.” Michael said.

Freddy looked absolutely dumbfounded by what Michael said, earning a laugh from Monty and a giggle from the kid. “Wait you don’t know Roxy?” The kid asked. “Nope! I didn’t know Monty until a few minutes ago either. I only know a Bonnie and Foxy but I’m guessing they don’t exist at this location.” Michael said. Freddy was about to say something before the kid interrupted him again. “Wait! You were the kid that got Monty to stop chasing me! I thought you died!” The kid said. “Yeah that was me, don’t worry I lost the ability to die years ago.” Michael said. Freddy and the kid looked at him weird. “What’s your name? I don’t want to keep calling you ‘the kid’.” Michal asked. “I’m Gregory.” The kid, Gregory said. Michael nodded.

“How do you know about Bonnie and Foxy? Foxy never made it to opening day and Bonnie went missing pretty early, everyone basically forgot about their existences.” Freddy asked. “I used to work at the past locations.” Michael said. “He’s apparently a man in his 60s trapped in his 13 year old body.” Monty said. “That makes absolutely no sense.” Gregory said. “If you knew about the shit my family did and went through it would. Maybe.” Michael said, shrugging. “Interesting. When I scanned you an employee file popped up, a few did actually.” Freddy said.

“Ooo! Which ones?” Michael asked. “Eggs Benedict, Mike Schmidt and Michael Afton.” Freddy answered. “Eggs is still in the database? Huh. I assumed father erased that one after I died.” Michael said. “Which one is really you?” Gregory asked. “Technically all of them. But if you’re asking for my biological name it would be the Afton one.” Michael said. “You’re Michael Afton? Like the Michael Afton? The stories are true?!” Gregory asked. “Yup.” Michael said. “Dude you died like so many times??” Gregory said. “Unfortunately my family doesn’t know how to die. It’s a curse really. Not fun at all.” Michael said.

“How do you know about him?” Freddy asked. “Your mom.” Gregory said without hesitation. Michael snorted at his quick response while Monty just blinked and Freddy froze, mouth open. “I do not have a mother Gregory, that’s impossible.” Freddy said. Gregory only smiled. “You’re funny, I like you.” Michael said. “Thanks, it’s the trauma.” Gregory said, shrugging. “Oh, mood.” Michael said. “So what’s the plan?” Monty asked. “I throw myself in front of every animatronic we come across to fix them.” Michael said. “Absolutely not, do you know how dangerous that is? You could get seriously injured! Or killed!” Freddy said. Michael only shrugged in response. “It wouldn’t be the first time an animatronic killed me and I doubt it’ll be the last. Honestly I’m still kinda processing being alive and able to talk. Not fully convinced this is real and not some kind of hell created for me to suffer for eternity.” Michael said.

Freddy gave him that disappointed dad look and Michael pouted. “Ugh fine. But if it comes down to me or Gregory surviving, I’m throwing myself onto the animatronic. I do not care if it shreds me apart.” Michael said. “Little boy~ your family’s looking for you!” Chica’s voice said from a distance. She was getting close. Gregory snorted. “Yeah right. What family?” Gregory said. “Oh shit. You’re an orphan?” Michael asked. “I guess.” Gregory said, shrugging. Freddy opened up his chest cavity and Gregory was about to climb in but was startled by Michael screaming. “Dude what the hell? You good?” Gregory asked, turning towards the older boy who was still on Monty’s shoulders.

Michael looked sickly pale, his eyes wide as he glanced between Gregory and Freddy’s stomach hatch. Michael looked close to crying. “What’s wrong?” Gregory asked. “What are you thinking?! Going into his stomach hatch! You trying to get yourself killed?!” Michael said, pulling at some of his hair. “Relax, I’ve been doing this the whole night! Freddy won’t hurt me.” Gregory said. “Kids who go into an animatronic’s stomach don’t usually come back out.” Michael softly said. “I can prove it to you, here. See I’m completely safe and comfortable in here. Freddy won’t hurt me, he’s been on my side since the beginning.” Gregory said as he climbed into Freddy’s stomach.

Michael still didn’t look too convinced but calmed down. The group began to walk in the opposite direction of Chica’s voice. Michael laid his head down onto of Monty’s as he began to quietly hum as they silently walked. He didn’t realize how tired he was until now. “So where are we heading?” Monty asked. “The Daycare, Gregory needs a pass that’s in there.” Freddy said. They stopped by a wall that had a sign that said “Slide into Fun!” above a slide. Freddy let Gregory out of his stomach and Monty set Michael down on the ground. “We cannot come with you but we will be waiting by the entrance. Stay together.” Freddy said. “Okay dad they get it, good luck kiddos I need to get mama bear here to a charging station, see ya later.” Monty said, dragging Freddy off.

“I’ll go down first in case there’s anything waiting for us at the bottom.” Michael said, ignoring how Gregory rolled his eyes at his statement. “Whatever, come on let’s go old man.” Gregory said. Michael huffed and went down the slide, he could hear Gregory sliding down behind him. Michael was instantly surrounded by colorful plastic balls the moment the slide ended. Michael moved out of the way just in time for Gregory to fall into the ball pit. “A ball pit? Gross.” Gregory muttered as he popped out from the pool of plastic balls.

Chapter Text

“HOOO HOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!” A voice from above spoke rather loudly. Michael and Gregory look up to see a rather tall looking animatronic with a sun for a head pop out of the opening in the wall and jump into the ball pit, completely going under. “What the fuck, what the fuck! How deep is this ball pit?!” Michael screamed in a panic. “Get me out! GET ME OUT!!” Gregory screeched at the same time, struggling to move. Suddenly Michael was snatched out of the ball pit and into the air, the tall sun based animatronic had a tight grip on his sides but it wasn’t too tight, Michael’s side stung from pressure being pressed against his wounded side.

The animatronic shifted Michael to hold him against their chest with one arm and snatched Gregory up with the other who was still trying to climb out of the ball pit.

“WELL, HELLO NEW FRIENDS!!!! Are we having a sleepover? Where are all your other friends?” The sun based animatronic said as they spun around, skipping slightly as they did. “Could you please let us go?” Michael asked, squirming a bit. “Oh of course! Sorry new friends! I just got a bit excited! It’s been soooo long since I’ve had a sleepover!” The brightly colored animatronic said, squeezing the two boys a bit before releasing them. “If you do not know already, I am Sun! One of the attendants of this Daycare! I handle the awake activities while my brother, Moon, handles naps!” The animatronic, Sun explained. “Fazbear’s wasn’t really creative when it came to your guy’s names huh.” Michael muttered.

Sun let out a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of their hand slightly. “I just have one rule. Keep the lights on .” Sun said, patting Gregory and Michael on the head before cartwheeling away. “Where should the security badge be?” Michael asked. “At the security desk. Duh.” Gregory said, walking towards the desk. Michael huffed, lightly pushing Gregory’s shoulder and followed.

“If I were a security badge where would I be?” Gregory muttered to himself as the two looked around the security desk. “Oh! Boys you shouldn’t be back there!” Sun said. “We won’t be long! We just need to-“ Michael began to explain before the lights turned off. “What did you do?!” Michael hissed turning to Gregory. “Nothing! I just grabbed the security badge!” Gregory screeched. “No no no no! I warned you!” Sun screamed, freaking out before falling backwards. There was a moment of silence before another animatronic with a similar build to Sun appears. Instead of a sun head this one’s head was a moon and it had a hat on.

“Naughty naughty. It’s past your bedtime.” The thing growled. “This must be Sun’s brother Moon.” Michael whispered. Suddenly the thing leaped at them causing the two boys to scream and run into the play area. Moon was too big to fit but it tried to grab them through the netting. “We noticed the lights went out in the Daycare. Is everything okay?” Freddy’s voice said from Gregory’s watch. “Moon is after us!” Gregory said in response. “Turn on the generators. And Michael, don’t get yourself hurt.” Monty said. Michael rolled his eyes.

“Should we split up?” Gregory asked. “Normally I would say no but since we’re in one room I think we should be fine.” Michael said. “I’ll scream if I’m in danger.” Gregory said. Michael gave a thumbs up and went to look for a generator. There were four in total. Michael purposefully made a lot more ruckus while getting his two generators turned on so Moon would be more focused on him than Gregory. They just had to do one more when Michael lost sight of Moon.

Michael’s heart nearly stopped when he heard Gregory scream. Moon had a hold on Gregory’s one arm while Gregory held onto the last generator. Michael immediately jumped onto the arm that held Gregory which made Moon let go of Gregory and grab at Michael. Michael made sure Moon scratched his arm hard enough for him to bleed. As soon as Moon saw the blood Michael was dropped and soon after the lights turned on. In Moon’s place was Sun.

“You broke my one rule!” Sun growled. “Hey! We didn’t do anything!” Michael yelled. Sun picked up Michael and Gregory by the back of their shirts and carried them to the entrance. “Out! Both of you are banned from the Daycare!” Sun yelled. Sun dropped the two boys. “SECURITY! SECURITY!!” Sun screamed as he slammed the door shut. Chica then appeared. “Your parents are looking for you.” She said as she stumbled towards them.

Michael pushed Gregory behind him but Chica stopped and stared at Michael’s arm. Right. he was bleeding. While Chica’s eyes were still purple they were a much more softer, gentler color now. “Oh dear. What happened? How did you two get in here? Are you already?” Chica asked, nervously walking closer. Michael feels Gregory flinch behind him. “Michael! Gregory!” Freddy said as he ran over to them, Monty not far behind.

“Guys! What- what’s happening? I don’t remember being out here! Why are there children here? We’re closed!” Chica said, freaking out. “We’re not quite sure either Chica. Freddy’s the only one who’s been normal the whole night.” Monty said. “Been.. normal?” Chica asked. “Yeah! You were just trying to kill us a second ago!” Gregory said, still hiding behind Michael. Chica gasps. “It wasn’t your fault, you weren’t in control of yourself.” Michael said. “I’m still very sorry for trying to hurt you. I never want to do that.” Chica said. Freddy lightly patted Chica on the shoulder. “It’s alright Chica, you didn’t hurt either of them.” Freddy said.

“But he’s bleeding!” Chica said, pointing at Michael’s still bleeding arm. “I keep on forgetting about that.” Michael said, watching the blood drip down his arm and onto the floor. Freddy made a pained sound and pulled a roll of bandages out of his stomach hatch, wrapped it around Michael’s arm. “I thought we had a deal.” Monty said. “We did. I’m still following it, Gregory was in a life or death situation. It’s not like Moon killed me, I’m fine.” Micheal said.

“Should we find Roxy? We should fix her too… right?” Gregory asked. Michael nodded. “It’s only fair we fix her too.” Michael said. “BUT! We are going to find a way to fix her without being harmed!” Freddy said. “Of course!” Michael said. “You say that like it’s obvious but you sure don’t act like it.” Monty said. Michael was silent for a moment. “I think we should split up.” Michael finally said. “What?!” Gregory squawked. “I’ll stay with Gregory but I think it might be a bit dangerous to stay near you guys. We can contact Freddy through Gregory’s Fazwatch.” Michael said.

“Dangerous? How?” Chica asked. “We’re not sure what made you act that way. It could take control again and kill Gregory. I don’t wanna risk it. You three should go find a way to fix Roxy while we figure out a way to get out of here sooner or something.” Michael said. Monty nodded. “Just remember to call us if you need help. I don’t want either of you dying.” Monty said. Freddy handed Michael a small present box. “Inside is a Fazwatch. I think you should have a way to contact us if you and Gregory get separated somehow.” Freddy explained.

Michael opened the box and put on the Fazwatch. “Thank you.” Michael said. “Remember to stay safe!” Freddy said as the animatronics walked away. “We will!” Michael and Gregory said in unison. Michael and Gregory begin to walk in the opposite direction. Michael felt more uneasy than he had before. He felt as though he was being watched, Michael took a hold of Gregory’s hand. Gregory gave him a weird look but didn’t say anything.

“Has there been any people dressed as rabbits chasing you around?” Michael asked. “Hm? Oh! Yeah! There’s this rabbit lady who I think is the nightguard. She’s been skipping around the Pizzaplex in a white rabbit suit and is holding this gigantic knife!” Gregory said. “She’s probably the one who messed with the Glamrocks.” Michael said. “Ugh, of course she is.” Gregory said. And because Michael is just so full of luck the rabbit lady skipped out of a hall. “Shit.” Michael hissed as she turned her head towards the two. Instead of running towards them she just tilted her head and stared. Gregory grabbed Michael’s arm and began to back away.

“Michael? Why are you here?” The woman asked. Michael forgot how to breathe. “Mike we need to run.” Gregory said, pulling at Michael’s arm. Michael ripped his arm from Gregory’s grip and grabbed Gregory’s hand and ran in a random direction. He wasn’t even sure if the lady was chasing them, he just continued to drag the younger boy along as he ran. Gregory shoved them into a hallway and Michael immediately collapsed. Gregory basically dragged Michael into the nearby security room.

“She knew your name.” Gregory said, his face practically expressionless. “Basically everyone knows my name thanks to those stupid games.” Michael said. “But she recognized you. I’m sure all real pictures of you guys were erased or lost to time or whatever. No one truly knows what you look like. Plus she asked why you were here. How does she know you?“ Gregory hissed. “I don’t know, I’ve never seen her before!” Michael said. Gregory frowned. “Do you not trust me?” Michael asked. “I … I don’t know. We just met how could I possibly know.” Gregory said. “I almost got myself killed to help you.” Michael said. Gregory looked away. “I’m gonna go find Freddy. Maybe you should like take a quick breather and stay here.” Gregory said as he left the room, leaving Michael all alone.

“It’s a shame he couldn’t stay longer, we were having so much fun.” A female voice said behind him. Michael quickly turned around to see the rabbit lady standing in the other entrance to the security room.

Notes:

Gregory is unfortunately a very untrusting kid due to his past so Vanny knowing Michael really messed with him. It’ll be fixed eventually don’t worry :)

Or will it ;)

Chapter 4

Summary:

Ghosts are an interesting thing

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Freddy is possessed. Not in the way most people imagine it though, this ghost doesn’t control him. Freddy is still his own person but there’s this man that no one else can see you follows him around. The man isn’t always visible but Freddy still knows he’s there. He never sees his face, it’s always just pitch black. Like the ghost had forgotten their own face. The ghost never spoke either, he just stared.

There were times Freddy could have sworn he could hear a man’s voice but it was never loud enough for him to hear.

Freddy was never quite sure on what to do about the ghost attached to him but the ghost never tried to harm anyone so Freddy never spoke to the others about it. Freddy didn’t know much about the ghost but he did know the ghost had died working for Fazbear’s and he’s been dead for a pretty long time considering Freddy didn’t recognize the man’s bloody uniform at all.

Then his friends started acting weird and the man seemed to disappear completely from view. Freddy obviously knew he was still there but it was like the ghost was hiding. And then Gregory appeared and Freddy began to see his ghost friend again, he wasn’t very visible but Freddy could still see him. The ghost seemed to panic a bit when they met Michael. Did they know each other? It was obvious the ghost recognized the boy but Freddy couldn’t figure out how.

They had split up from the kids a while ago, the Glamrocks were attempting to find Roxy and figure out a way to fix her without Michael getting hurt. Roxy ended up finding them, she was chasing Gregory and they were running straight towards them. Michael was nowhere to be seen.

Freddy scooped up Gregory into his arms and Monty and Chica blocked Roxy from getting to them. The ghost curiously floated around Roxy, examining her. Then he pointed at her eye and made a turning motion with his hand. Freddy stood confused for a moment as Monty and Chica attempted to get Roxy to back off. “We need to restart her.” Freddy said. The ghost gave a thumbs up and nodded.

“How could we possibly do that? I don’t wanna rip her eye off!” Chica cried. Gregory squirmed out of Freddy’s grip and inched over to Roxy who was still being restrained by Monty and Chica. Before anyone could stop it Roxy swiped her claws at Gregory, slicing at his raised arm. She immediately went limp afterwards. “We should go find Michael once she wakes up.” Monty said. Chica nods in agreement. Then there’s a frightening scream that echos through the Pizzaplex, causing Gregory and the ghost to flinch and cover their ears.

Notes:

Any guesses on who the ghost is?

Chapter Text

The rabbit lady throws a locket at him. “Your family misses you dearly. I’m sure they’d love to see you again.” She said. Michael opens the locket, inside were two pictures. One of Elizabeth and one of Cassidy. “I can take you to them. Your father has been putting you all back together, I was just unaware he had already fixed you.” She continued.

“You’re crazy.” Michael hissed, holding the locket close to his chest. The woman tilted her head. “Hmm. Seems you weren’t fixed completely. Please just come with me, I don’t want to harm you. Don’t you want to be with your family again. It’s been so very long since you’ve seen them. I’m sure your brother has forgiven you for what you’ve done to him if that’s why you’re acting like this. They just want to be a family again.” The lady said.

“Look rabbit lady. Cassidy and Elizabeth moved on years ago and I doubt my father is still alive. You’re delusional.” Michael said, glaring at her. “My name is Vanny. How do you think you’re here? If you’re here wouldn’t it make sense for your family to be here too?” Vanny said. “Fuck off. I don’t .. I don’t need to be fixed. What I need is for you to stop killing kids.” Michael said. Vanny just stared at him for a moment.

“Have you looked in a mirror lately?” Vanny asked. “What the fuck? No?” Michael said, extremely confused. “I suggest you go do that. Come find me when you change your mind, your family is waiting for you.” Vanny said as she skipped away. Michael stood up, the locket still held close to his chest as he stumbled to the nearest bathroom.

The lights were a bit dim but bright enough for Michael to see his face in the mirror. Familiar pinkish purple eyes stare back at him. Michael backed away from the mirror with wide eyes. This had to be just a trick right? He was alive again, he was breathing. The skin peaking out of the bandages on his arm was this dark purple he blinks away tears he didn’t know were there and then there’s no more purple. His eyes didn’t change. He was beginning to panic. Was he just going to become a living corpse again? Will he ever be able to die? Or live a normal life? Was any of this even real. Michael squeezed his eyes shut, unable to look at himself. He didn’t realize he had started screaming until it began to echo off the walls, causing him to open his eyes and cover his ears.

He couldn’t stop screaming. Then someone grabbed his shoulder, he stopped screaming immediately and turned around. For a moment the child before him looked like his brother. “Cassidy?” Michael asked. Michael blinked and Gregory stood in Cassidy’s place, looking confused. “Mike we could hear you screaming. Are you okay?” Gregory asked. “How. How long have my eyes been like this?” Michael asked. “Been like what?” Gregory asked. “Purple.” Michael answered. Gregory looked even more confused. “They look pretty blue to me.” Gregory said. Michael turned back towards the mirror, his eyes were blue gray again. For a moment he could have sworn he had seen someone in the corner, they disappeared too quickly for Michael to see them well.

”Let’s go. The others are waiting.” Gregory said. Michael just nodded in response.

Chapter 6

Summary:

A rabbit hidden in the bowling alley is found

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Michael is silent as they walk through the Pizzaplex, he wasn’t quite sure where they were even going. “What. What happened to Bonnie?” Michael asked. “He went missing.” Monty said. “Missing?” Michael asked. Monty nodded. “It was a bit before the others had started acting weird. He had mentioned he needed to investigate .. something but never said what. He went missing afterwards.” Freddy said. Michael frowned.

“Can we visit his attraction?” Michael asked. “If that is what you want.” Freddy said. “Ooo yes! I wanna see the bowling alley!” Gregory said. “I used to go to this small bowling alley with my friends. It was fun.” Michael said. “I like bowling here with my friend Cassie.” Gregory said. “Cassie?” Michael asked. “Yeah! Her dad is a technician here.” Gregory said. “That’s cool.” Michael said. “Maybe you can meet her when we get out of here.” Gregory said. “Maybe.” Michael said, smiling.

Bonnie bowl was a lot bigger than Michael had imagined. It was right next to Roxy’s raceway. “So Bonnie just .. went missing?” Michael asked. “Yeah. The employees looked everywhere and just … couldn’t find him.” Chica said. “Did they ever look behind Bonnie Bowl?” Roxy asked, staring where the bowling pins disappear. “I think so? But I’m not completely sure.” Monty said. “Why? Do. Do you see something Roxy?” Chica asked. Roxy nodded. “I.. I think I found him.” Roxy said. “How can we get him?” Freddy asked. “I can climb in there and find a way to get him out?” Michael suggested. Freddy sighs, his ears flop down a bit but nods.

Michael immediately found a vent that hopefully led to where he wanted to go and crawled through. “Just be careful okay!” He could hear Freddy yell. “I am being careful, don’t worry!” Michael said in response. As he crawled he found an opening in the vent’s floor, Michael hopped out of the vent. There were bowling balls everywhere. This was an area where bowling balls came through. There was another vent on the wall to his left and a door to his right. Michael turned around and came face to face with Glamrock Bonnie, the right side of his face and part of his right shoulder were destroyed and he was turned off.

Michael chewed the side of his lip in thought. Michael sighs and pulls out his Fazwatch.

Freddy how to I turn you guys on?

Why?

I wanna see if I can turn Bonnie on without doing any repairs. I know how to fix animatronics but I’m not that confident in fixing you guys.

It’s similar to how you restart us. Fazwrench  into the eye socket.

Thanks

Happy to help!

Now Michael just needed to find a Fazwrench. Luckily there was a toolbox hidden in a corner by some bowling balls. The fazwrench kinda looked like those things Michael had seen Fazbear technicians use in the 70s.

Despite the his right side being destroyed the eye socket was still there. Carefully, Michael placed the Fazwrench into the eye socket and turned. Bonnie began to twitch as he pulled out the wrench. His still existing eye blinked and he sat straight. “Hello Bonnie.” Michael said. Bonnie looked around the room they were in before looking at Michael. “Hello.” Bonnie said, his voice slightly glitched. “Can you stand?” Michael asked.

Bonnie stood up, using the wall to support himself as he did. “Do you remember what happened?” Michael asked. “Not really. I remember getting hit in the face with a bowling ball but that’s about it.” Bonnie said. Michael nodded. “Come on. The others are waiting.” Michael said. Bonnie nodded. “So what’s your name kid?” Bonnie asked. “I’m Michael.” Michael said in response.

The door (that had been locked from the inside) led them a room similar to the one they were just in. The next door led them to a room with a poster of Freddy and a desk with a mirror. It looked like it belonged to Bonnie. “This was my room after they swapped me out for Monty in the band.” Bonnie said. Michael hummed. The opening stage area in front of the room led to the bowling alley. “Hey guys, I found Bonnie!” Michael said, walking over to where the others were waiting, Bonnie followed close behind. Chica squealed and latched onto Bonnie as soon as the two joined where the group was standing. “I missed you so much!” Chica said, squeezing Bonnie. Bonnie chuckled and patted Chica on the head.

“I can’t believe you were right there this entire time.” Roxy said. “The door had been locked from the inside. I think whoever put him there was planning on blocking that room off.” Michael said. Bonnie nodded. “What do we do now? Everyone’s fixed.” Monty said. “There’s still that rabbit lady wondering around with a knife.” Gregory said. “Her name’s Vanny.” Michael said. “How do you know that?” Gregory asked. “She told me. She had appeared after you left.” Michael explained. “What’d she do?” Freddy asked. “She gave me this locket. It has a picture of my siblings inside.” Michael said, pulling out the locket he had shoved in his pocket earlier.

Michael attached the locket around his neck. “Did she say anything to you?” Bonnie asked. “She said some shit about my family but I didn’t really believe her so I told her to fuck off.” Michael said, frowning. “Then what?” Chica asked. “She skipped away to who knows where.” Michael said.

“Let’s just keep an eye out for her as well as Officer Vanessa.” Monty said. The other nod.

Notes:

I sure do wonder where Vanessa is 🤔

Chapter Text

He’s been here in the dark for so long he’s forgotten what he looked like, he’s forgotten what he sounded like. He could barely see his body due to the darkness. He knew he had long hair, it wasn’t brushed well or brushed at all, he can’t remember. His entire body ached, faint reminders of his death. All he can smell is smoke and something burnt and rotten. How long has he been here? Will he ever leave?

He tries to remember something, anything from his life but it just makes his head hurt. He hates something, someone? he’s not sure but he hates it. It cost him his life.

Suddenly he’s blinded by lights, when his eyes finally adjust to the light he’s staring right at an animatronic bear. And the bear is staring right back at him. “I believe I am malfunctioning.” The bear said. He shakes his head and reaches for the bear, his hand goes straight through. A memory or two hit him, nothing about who he is but a memory of what he worked for. What was responsible for his death. Frazbear’s.

not just Frazbear’s but William Afton specifically. He hated that man, he hated him so much. He hopes that man is burning in hell for that horrible things he’s done.

The bear, a shiny version of Freddy Fazbear himself, is a lot more sentient than the one he remembers. Freddy’s ears droop a bit. “I’m Glamrock Freddy. And you are?” Freddy said, his sounded.. familiar. He just shrugs. “Do you not remember?” Freddy asked. He nods. “Can you speak?” Freddy asked. He shook his head. Freddy hummed. “This will be difficult but I promise to help you remember who you are.” Freddy said, giving him a thumbs up. He nods, he can feel himself smile.

He was no longer alone, even though he couldn’t speak now maybe one day he will. Maybe one day he’ll remember who he is.

Chapter Text

They’ve been doing good, staying hidden. Michael truly thought they were gonna make it without ever seeing Vanny or Vanessa for the rest of the night. Luck never seemed to like him though. They were currently chilling in Gator Golf, they’ve been moving from place to place every now and again, never staying in one attraction or area for too long.

“What the fuck?” A female voice said from behind where the group was sitting. Monty immediately pulled Michael and Gregory behind him. “Officer Vanessa!” Freddy said. Vanessa, a young blond woman who looked to be in her early twenties examined the group. Her eyes continuously flicked from Bonnie to the two human children behind Monty. “I’m a bit too scared to ask.” Vanessa said, her eyes on Bonnie.

“We know it’s you Vanny!” Gregory yelled, still hiding behind Monty. Vanessa’s gaze snaps to the young boy, her expression showing nothing but confusion. “Vanny?” Vanessa asked. “I don’t think she’s Vanny Gregory.” Michael said. “Who the hell is Vanny?” Vanessa asked. “The rabbit lady.” Michael and Gregory said in unison.

“I- there is no rabbit lady here?” Vanessa said, frowning. “She’s this crazy lady trying who’s like obsessed with the Fazbear missing incident in 1985. As well as the Aftons.” Michael explained. “I don’t get paid enough for this.” Vanessa whined. “Does this mean you’re on our side?” Chica asked. Vanessa sighed. “Yeah? Look sorry if I made you guys think you couldn’t come to me for help, I know I’ve been really bitchy recently. I’m just really stressed about out of work related things.” Vanessa said.

“It’s okay Officer Vanessa, we understand.” Bonnie said. “When. When did you get here? You’ve been missing for months.” Vanessa asked. “I was powered off and hidden behind the bowling alley.” Bonnie answered. “Oh.” Vanessa weakly said in response. “Well I’m glad you’re back. We’ve all missed you.” Vanessa said, giving the blue rabbit a tired smile. “When’s the last time you’ve slept?” Gregory asked. Vanessa shrugged and rubbed her eyes.

“Can you guys explain the children being here after closing situation?” Vanessa asked, gesturing toward the two kids. “Gregory thought you were trying to hurt him so he hid from you in Freddy’s stomach hatch. I’m not too sure about Michael though.” Roxy said. “I just kinda woke up in a hallway.” Michael said. “I don’t think that’s how it works.” Vanessa said. “I don’t really know either but I’ve kinda just learned to accept it after I died.” Michael said.

Vanessa looks at him like he’s crazy, but there’s some recognition in her eyes. “Officer Vanessa this is Michael Afton.” Freddy said. Vanessa’s face dropped. “You’re lying.” Vanessa said, her eyes not leaving Michael’s. “All of our recognition scanners say otherwise.” Monty said. Vanessa just stared at Michael, she looked more hurt than confused. Uncomfortable even. Sad.

Vanessa bit her lower lip in thought but better she could say anything the power went out. No one moved or said a word. “Did you really think that you could hide?” A familiar sounding man asked through the speakers. Michael could feel Vanessa grab his arm, she pulled him close and leaned down. “He’s after you. Hide.” Vanessa whispered. Michael ran as soon as she let go, trying to find a place to hide, a place to get away.

He could hear the others calling for him as the lights came back on. “Michael?” It was Vanny. “Stay back!” Michael yelled, he couldn’t see her. “Please Michael, just come home. All of this will end if you just come with me.” Vanny said, her voice echoing as Michael continued to run.

Something felt so off. Not just about Vanny but just the whole situation revolving around her. Elizabeth and Cassidy moved on, he knows they did and he doubted William was here. Was there something truly impersonating William or was Vanny just lying?

Chapter Text

Michael ducks into a room and sits down against the wall, trying to catch his breath. He just wanted this all to be over already. “Mikey?” The voice of a familiar boy’s voice rang out. Cassidy. “Mikey where are you? Please we miss you Mikey!” Now it was Elizabeth. “Cass? Liz? What… I thought you guys moved on.” Michael said, standing back up as he looked for the source of their voices. “We miss you Mikey.” Cassidy said. “Please come home.” Elizabeth said.

“I told you I wasn’t lying.” Vanny said, appearing from behind him. “Come on Mikey.” Cassidy and Elizabeth say at the same time, their voices echoing. Their voices made Michael feel uneasy, like something was wrong. But Michael ignored that feeling, he just wanted to see his siblings again. Cautiously, Michael took a step closer to Vanny. “If I go with you, will you stop hunting Gregory and leave the Glamrocks alone?” Michael asked. “I promise.” Vanny said, her voice sounding a bit distorted. Vanny raised her hand, a silent demand to take ahold of it.

Michael took a breath and grabbed her hand. “I want to see them again.” Michael said, his voice quiet. “You will.” Vanny said. She began to guide him to an elevator. Once inside she hit the down arrow, never letting go of Michael’s hand.

“MIKE!” It was Gregory. He was running towards them, he looked scared. The elevators doors closed before Gregory could reach them. Michael closed his eyes and silently apologized to the young boy. The elevator led them to under the Pizzaplex, everything looked old and burnt. Was this the same place Henry burnt everything? Was this all that remained? Or was this somewhere else? Michael has the vague memory of hearing about Murray’s Costume Factory burning down as well as a hard working technician going missing around the time. The only thing that had been found about the technician was his van, which had been flipped and was on fire. There was no technician inside.

A tall endoskeleton stumbled forward. Vanny bows her head. “You may leave.” It said in William’s voice. What. Vanny nodded and leaves, leaving Michael alone with this thing. “It’s so nice to see you again Michael, your siblings and I have… missed you.” The thing said, still using William’s voice. It leans and tucks a price of loose hair behind Michael’s ear. What the hell? “There’s no way. This isn’t real. You’re not him.” Michael said backing away slightly.

“No.. I am not.” It said, straightening itself. “I am him and more. I am a more .. advanced version of William. A better version of him.” It said, still using William’s voice .

Chapter Text

While Vanessa isn’t Vanny he still didn’t trust her. How did she not know about Vanny? She knew more than she was telling them. She recognized Michael, Gregory knows she did. He thinks Michael knew too.

Then the lights went out, Gregory couldn’t see anything. There was a moment of stillness, no one moved or said a word.

“Did you really think that you could hide?” A British voice spoke from the speakers, the voice made Gregory flinch.

Gregory could hear Vanessa whispering some, she was too quiet for him to hear. Then he could hear the sound of footsteps running away. Did Vanessa run? The lights came back on to reveal that it was Michael running away. “Mike?!” Gregory called out. A few of the others called for him too but he just continued running. “Let him run.” Vanessa said. “What did you do? What did you tell him!” Gregory growled. Vanessa’s face showed no emotion. “It’s not after you. Not anymore. It wants Michael and I’m giving him a chance.” Vanessa said.

“A chance to do what exactly?” Monty asked. “A chance to run, to get away. Now we need to keep all of our focus on getting Gregory out. If it doesn’t succeed in getting what it wants with Michael it might send Vanny after Gregory.” Vanessa explained. “So you did know about Vanny.” Gregory said, backing away from Vanessa. Vanessa sighed. “Look I’m trying my best here. There’s not much I can do here, especially when she doesn’t truly exist. She’s just a robot.” Vanessa said.

“Vanny’s a robot?” Gregory asked. Vanessa nodded. “She’s meant to be a robot of me.” Vanessa said, it was clear she didn’t want to say anymore about it. “We can’t just leave Michael.” Freddy said, his voice sounded a bit off. Like there were two people talking a once. “It’s better to just give it what it wants, that way more people are safe.” Vanessa said. “No!” Freddy growled. He didn’t sound like himself anymore. “I’m not going to let M2 take another life!” Freddy said. “M2?” Vanessa asked.

“That’s what’s down there isn’t it? This endoskeleton that mimics people’s voices. It was just mimicing Afton’s voice over the speakers. It’s pretending to be him.” Freddy said. “You’re not Freddy. Freddy doesn’t know this kinda stuff, he doesn’t act like this.” Bonnie said. “I’ve been here for a while, watching over the Pizzaplex by Freddy’s side. I didn’t mean to take control of his body. Honestly I don’t know how I did but that doesn’t matter right now. What matters is getting Michael away from M2 and shutting M2 down for good.” Not Freddy said.

“Can we at least have your name?” Roxy said. “It was Arnold.” Not Freddy said. “Let’s go find Michael.” Gregory said. The other nods. Freddy’s eyes are different now, they’re not the blue Gregory is used to. Now they’re just black. Gregory just guessed Arnold’s eye color had been black. They followed to where they had seen Michael run off to, hoping to find him before it was too late. Gregory didn’t want to lose him.

Then he saw them. Michael and Vanny, hand in hand, standing in the elevator. Michael looked so defeated. “MIKE!” Gregory screamed, running towards him. But he was too late, the elevator closed before he could reach them. Gregory watched as they went down. “There’s still time. Don’t give up yet kid.” Arnold said. Gregory sighed. “You better know what you’re doing.” Gregory said. “They were heading to the basement. I know how to get there using stairs, just follow me.” Vanessa said.

Gregory had a feeling this wasn’t gonna end well.

Chapter Text

Michael didn’t know what to do. Elizabeth and Cassidy weren’t really there, the endoskeleton had used their voices to lure him here. The endoskeleton is going on and on about.. something about bringing the family back. Was it planning on just replacing William? Was it the reason Michael is back? If it can bring him back surely it’ll do the same to Elizabeth and Cassidy. Michael didn’t want that. Cassidy and Elizabeth deserved to rest.

The thing stops talking and just stares at Michael. Michael tilts his head to the side in confusion. “Vanny was right. You are still a bit broken. Not to worry, I will put you back together.” It said. It must be referring to his eyes. “I don’t want to be fixed. I want to move onto the afterlife with my siblings.” Michael said. “They’ll be here soon. I just need more time. Be patient Michael.” It said. “I don’t understand why you’re doing this.” Michael said. “Afton ruined everything, my creation was caused by his destruction and greed. In turn I’m taking something from him. I shall be better than he’ll ever be!” It said.

“You’re only causing more pain by doing this.” Michael said. Before it could respond it was shot, causing it to stumble back. Michael looked to where the shot came from to find Vanessa, her hands were violently shaking as she held the gun. “Vanessa. What have I told you about messing with my plans.” It growled. “I.. I’m not gonna let you go any further with this. It ends now, I’m not gonna let you hurt or bring back anyone else.” Vanessa said, her voice uneven.

“You’re not getting away this time M2.” Freddy? said. His voice sounded different but surprisingly familiar? “ Arnold .” It growled. Michael recognized that name. Arnold was a technician from the 70s, he’s quite surprised he even remembers the man. Michael was around nine when Arnold went missing.

Like all the other technicians Arnold was always tired and overworked but unlike the rest he was kind. Michael has this faint memory of watching the man fix something. He had let Michael just talk, didn’t shoo him away or yell at him like everyone else did. The man was his encouragement to continue his passion of drawing.

A metal hand harshly grabbing him broke him out of thought. M2 held Michael close it its chest, his feet off the ground. Vanessa began to lower her gun. Michael scanned the group, Gregory was no where to be seen.  Michael struggled to get out of M2’s grip, for an endoskeleton so old it sure was strong. “If you continue to move I won’t let you see your siblings when they get here.” M2 hissed. Michael grumbled but stopped moving.

The Glamrocks plus Vanessa inched closer, M2 took a step back. Suddenly M2 stumbles forward and releases Michael who is practically thrown to the side. Gregory was on top of it literally just screaming and growling as he clawed at it, tearing apart what he could. M2 threw the boy off, causing the lid to the thing on its chest to come off. Gregory then threw a really old stuffed white tiger at M2.

M2 easily caught it and just paused, staring at the plush. While it was distracting Gregory jumped onto it, sending it on its back and stabbed a Fazwrench into M2’s chest. “Are you sure this is gonna work?” Gregory asked as he twisted the wrench. “That’s the idea.” Arnold said. M2 began to violently glitch, its orange eyes flickering. Gregory immediately got off of it and walked over to Michael. “Are you okay?” Gregory asked. Michael mutely nodded.

M2 stopped moving, the light of its eyes finally going out. “What should we do with it?” Michael asked. “I am going to take it apart as well as Vanny and just melt them or something.” Vanessa said. “Vanny’s a robot?” Michael asked. “That’s a conversation for later.” Vanessa said, walking over to M2. Michael just nodded.

The boys watched as Vanessa and the Glamrocks took M2 apart. Freddy twitched and slumped a bit, Monty catching him before he could fall. There was a moment of silence before Freddy stood up and blinked. “I am me again.” Freddy said. “Glad to have ya back Fred.” Monty said, patting Freddy on the shoulder. A cold hand patted Michael on the head. It was Arnold. He didn’t say anything but he smiled and gave a thumbs up before fading away.

“Arnold moved on.” Michael said. “What?” Chica asked. “I guess M2 still being around prevented Arnold from moving on into the afterlife. Now that M2 is gone so is he.” Michael said. “I’m glad he was able to find peace.” Freddy said. Michael nodded in agreement. The group collects M2’s remains in some old box and makes their way out of the basement.

“Woah your eyes are pink!” Gregory said. Michael laughed. “Yeah. I don’t know why it’s like that or how to fix it.” Michael said. “Was that what you had been screaming about all those hours ago?” Gregory asked. Michael nodded.

It was finally over.

Notes:

One more chapter :)

I firmly believe Michael was one of those kids who loved just talking to literally anyone about everything when he was younger. I think Elizabeth is often characterized as that and honestly I see both of them being like that. Michael grew out of it rather quickly because William always yelled at him about it.

I was like that as a kid, I can’t quite remember when I stopped but yeah. I went from extrovert to introvert a year or two before Covid.

Also! Yes I know in Ruin M2 doesn’t have the panel thing for the Fazwrench in Ruin but we never got to see what it looked like in Security Breach so yeah.

Chapter Text

They were just waiting for Vanessa’s shift to end, Vanessa agreed to taking Gregory and Michael home with her and suggested adopting the two. Gregory and Michael agreed. “Now you’ll get to meet Cassie!” Gregory said. “Can’t wait!” Michael said. The two were just wondering around, keeping an eye out for Vanny. A minute or two before six the entrance opened, an older man in a technician uniform and a young girl walked through. “Cassie!” Gregory said, running over to the two new people.

“Gregory?! What are you doing here?!” The girl, Cassie, asked. “It’s a long story that I can tell later. I want you to meet Mike!” Gregory said, gesturing to Michael. They looked over at him and he awkwardly waved in response. “You look like that one boy from grandpa’s old pictures!” Cassie said. The two did look kinda like Mark. Before Michael could say anything Cassie’s dad came running forward just as Michael felt a pain in his chest.

Cassie’s dad tackled Vanny as Michael fell to the ground. Gregory and Cassie quickly rushed over to him. Gregory tried to put pressure on the wound, trying to stop the bleeding but Michael stopped him. Gregory began to cry. “It’s okay.” Michael whispered. He could hear Vanessa and one or two of the Glamrocks running over. Monty came into view. “Stop. Stay .. stay back. I don’t wanna possess you when I die.” Michael said. Monty backed away.

“You’re not going to die.” Gregory said through his tears. “I’m so sorry Greg. We both know I should have died years ago kid. It’s my time, this is my final death.” Michael said, it was getting harder to breathe. “But I need you.” Gregory cried. Michael took ahold of Gregory’s hand. “It’s okay. You’re okay.” Michael said. Vanessa came into view, sitting down next to Gregory. There were tears in her eyes. Warm tears ran down Michael’s face, despite dying and being in a lot of pain he felt happy. He felt at peace.

And then all the pain disappeared. When Michael regained vision he was staring at his body, both Gregory and Vanessa were looking at him. Not his body, him. Michael looked down, a familiar purple uniform stared back at him. Michael laughed and looked back at Vanessa and Gregory. “You’re a lot older than I remember Nessa.” Michael said. Vanessa laughed. “You’ve been gone for quite a while dad.” Vanessa said. “Sorry I couldn’t watch you grow up or recognize or sooner.” Michael said. Vanessa shook her head. “You going away wasn’t your fault. I know that now. Mom never blamed you either.” Vanessa said.

Someone took ahold of his hand. It was Cassidy. “Long time no see brother. You were a hard one to find.” Cassidy said, smiling up at him. “Hey Cass.” Michael said, squeezing Cassidy’s hand slightly. “Hope you understand I’m not letting him come back again.” Cassidy said, now looking at Gregory and Vanessa. Vanessa snorted. “I understand.” Vanessa said. Gregory nodded in agreement.

Michael let go of Cassidy’s hand and knelt down in front of Gregory, placing a hand in the boy’s wild hair. “Take care of each other okay? You’re so strong Gregory. I’m proud to have you as a grandson.” Michael said. Gregory hugged Michael the best he could. “Watch over that locket for me okay Nessa? It was your grandmother’s before it was mine.” Michael said, gesturing to the locket around his body’s neck. “I’ll take better care of it I promise. Mom gave it to me on my sixteenth birthday, I’m not quite sure how Vanny got it.” Vanessa said, taking the locket. Michael nodded.

“Hate to be that person but we must leave now. The others are waiting for us.” Cassidy said. “It was nice meeting you all.” Michael said. There were multiple responses of agreement. “You ready?” Cassidy asked guiding Michael away. Michael noticed how they were started to fade away just like Arnold had. “Have been for years.” Michael said.

Gregory watched as the two ghosts faded away, Vanessa pulled him close to her and hugged him. “You ready to go home?” Vanessa asked. “Yeah. Yeah I think I am.” Gregory said, leaning into Vanessa’s hug with a smile. “Would you be willing to take Cassie with you? I know it’s very last minute but her babysitter canceled and I couldn’t find another.” Cassie’s dad asked. “Sure. I don’t mind.” Vanessa said, standing up. “I’ll tell you everything that happened last night when we get there.” Gregory said. “Can’t wait to hear about it!” Cassie said, grabbing Gregory’s hand.

Michael was buried in a grave that sat empty for years.

Here lies

Michael Afton

1970 - 1998

You were worth more than you ever thought you were. May you finally rest in peace

Notes:

Hi!! I hope you guys really enjoyed the story! I know Michael dying probably wasn’t the ending yall were hoping for but it felt like the right ending for him.

Why is Vanessa Michael’s kid you may ask? Because why not! Vanessa/Vanny has been characterized as an Afton for years, her being an Afton in the movie isn’t something that just popped up out of the blue. It’s a theory that has existed for years. While I’ve seen people mostly make her William’s mystery kid that he had before dying I like to make her Michael’s kid. It adds more angst to the whole scooping incident as well as him dying again in this fic
