Chapter 1: Realizing Before and After

Chapter Text

Kit Tanthalos, rich, loyal, a little spoiled, handsome, rebellious, and down right in love with her best friend, Jade Claymore.

Kit and Jade had known each other for years. They met when they were both five years old. It was both their first day of Kindergarten, and by faith they were put together. They were put next to each other and that sparked a friendship that has been going for almost fourteen years. “Hi! I’m Kit!” The young girl introduced herself with confidence. “Hello, I, I’m, my name is Jade.” The little red curled girl sounded nervous. “I like your shirt! I love that show, it’s one of my favorites!” Kit pointed to Jade's shirt, across the top were the words ‘The Real Ghostbusters’. “Oh, thanks!” Jade replied, sounding more comfortable with Kit. They had just moved and didn’t have a lot of money but had what they could. Jade's father was doing his best right now and some of their clothes were from yard sales and Goodwill. But even though this ragged almost worn out shirt was old, Jade loved that shirt. “I think your shirt is ugly, and it looks dirty, and so does your face!” Some little shit from across the table shouted towards Jade, and everyone pointed and laughed. All except for Kit, who instead stood up and walked over to him with a ruler and smacked him across the face with it. The ruler cracked and the kid shouted out in pain. “Don’t make fun of my Friend!” Shouted a very angry brunette. The first day of school didn’t last long, but it was a memory Kit and Jade would remember forever. And possibly the boy who was hit with a ruler, he switched schools after that.

Since then, Kit learned why Jade sounded ‘fancy’. Jade was from Whitby, a small town in Northern England. Her parents were divorced and she has an older sister, Scorpia. They moved to America for her Dads job. Mr. Ballentine, Mr. Tine as Kit used to call him. Was a kind, honest, hard working, loving, protective man. Scorpia however was rebellious, stubborn, and an all around leader. Kit always enjoyed their company. It was a lot different than her house. Her parents were big in the business of well, everything. They owned a number of Microsoft companies, movie theaters, medical science labs, dairy farms, etc. If it had the name Tanthalos on it, you knew who Kit was. Madmartigan and Sorsha were Kit's parents. They had two very different personalities. Mads was a very energetic, manly, kind, caring, outgoing, and open minded man. Sorsha was more serious, more of a ‘tell it like it is’ type of woman. Airk, Kit’s older twin brother by a minute, was similar to Mads. He was very energetic, caring and outgoing. Jade enjoyed being in Kit's home and Kit enjoyed Jade's home. You could rarely go out and see just one of the two. If you saw Kit, then you know Jade was somewhere around and vice versa.

They were around each other all the time. They had their peers, but never wanted anymore friends then just the two of them. They associated with other people, but only considered the two of them as their only friend, and that's how they liked it. They never dated, they never went somewhere without the other. They spent holidays with each other, bought gifts for each other, they spent every second together and was each other's first everything. First friend, first sleepover, first call, and even first kiss. However, that occurred eight years after they met when they were thirteen. They were so sick of listening to all the other kids in school talk about kissing and dating. So one night during one of their sleepovers they wanted to get theirs over with. They were watching a classic horror film of 1988, Pumpkinhead. It was the scene where Billy was about to be run over with Joel's Dirt Bike, but before it happened Kit paused the TV. “Something on your mind? Or do you have a fun fact about the movie for me?” Jade asked, as this was nothing unusual when Kit showed Jade a movie. This time though it had nothing to do with the movie. “I’m sick of everyone talking about kissing!” Kit admitted a bit louder than she wanted. Thank God her room was the entire basement in the whole damn Mansion. “Huh?” Jade sounded confused. “It’s just, they all talk about it. It’s all they talk about. I just, I don’t know.” Kit sounded as if she wanted to tell Jade something. “Kit? Do you want to kiss someone?” Jade asked with a little hint of sadness, but only later will she know why. Kit looked at her, then looked away. “Not just someone.” Kit looked back at Jade slowly. Her bright blue hues seemed to tear up a bit. “Who?” Jade calmly asked. “Jade.” “Yes Kit?” “Would you… Can I… Do you… I want to…” This was the most nervous Kit had ever been. “Kit, I would be honored to kiss you.” Jade finished for her. Kit looked at Jade and smiled. “Do you mean it? I won’t make you.” Kit assured her, but that assurance was not needed. “Kit, I want to.” Jade sounded more excited. “Okay.” “Okay.” They both exclaimed. They were face to face, all the lights were off, minus the glow from the TV. It was quiet, but it felt so loud, their hearts were racing and pounding in their ears. Kit put her hands on Jade's shoulders, and Jade put her hands on Kit's face. They had no idea what or how to do this, but took what they knew and saw. They looked at each other before closing their eyes and leaning in until their lips met. The pounding in their ears stopped and heart rate slowed. They both felt a feeling, until they pulled apart. That feeling remained unknown until two years later.

Kit had broken her foot after falling off the balcony into the Olympic pool in the Tanthalos’s backyard. Kit was in the hospital for a week and Jade made an effort everyday to come see her. The last night she was in the hospital, Jade paced back and forth around her room. It was nearing two in the morning and she couldn’t stop worrying. Eventually she crawled into bed and tried to sleep. Jade had only been asleep for half an hour before she realized Kit was stuck in her head. Her eyes that were so blue she wanted to swim in, the smile that made the stars seem less bright, her voice that had a melody no song could beat, the lips that were softer than any cloud could be. That’s when that feeling came back. Jade roughly woke up, falling out of her bed. It made sense now, It was love. She was in love with her best friend. She was excited at first, then faded to sadness. She knew Kit loved her, but was she in love with her? She decided to wait till she knew before telling Kit. Until then she decided that Kit would be hers in her dreams.

Halfway across town in Tir Asleen Medical Hospital. Kit was in her private room, bored out of her fucking mind. Why did she take Airks stupid dare to jump off the balcony? Because she wanted to impress Jade. She’s always wanted to impress Jade, she never knew why. Because she is her best friend of course. Or was there something deeper? She wondered about that for a bit. Kit adored Jade. She was Kit's favorite person. The best person in the world. Most enchanting girl in the world. Anyone would be happy to fall for Jade. Fall? For Jade? Oh, oh. That was it. Why she wanted to impress Jade. She fell for Jade and never knew it. Jade couldn’t love her back, she thought. At least not in that way. How could she love someone as reckless as Kit? Kit let her mind wander for too long. She decided to shove those feelings aside for now. Little do they both know the feeling is mutual. Since then they both did their best to hide how they felt. They both knew damn well they were both Lesbians, and were right by each other's side when they came out to equally accepting families. However their families weren’t blind and knew all too well that they were into each other. They decided to wait till they knew they could tell each other how they felt. They both on their own decided to wait for the similar time, College.

Three years later, They’re seniors in High School. They applied to the same colleges and were accepted into many. But they both held out hope for the big one. Nockmarr University. The top college in their state. And after months of waiting, they both got in. Their dreams are coming true. All except for telling each other how they feel. That time was nearing close. They were put in the dorm together, so they could be together. They’re careful and are going to try to tell the other they love them. Hopefully, nothing happens to ruin it.

Chapter Text

“Jade, You’re my best friend. You have been for years and I don’t want it to end. I love you, I always have. Not just as my friend but as my girlfr-. DAMN IT!” A frustrated Kit shouts at herself in the mirror for the twelve time. It’s 12:45 am and in less than eight hours she will be off to college. With Airk and Jade. Jade, her best friend. The girl she is in love with. The girl who has her in her room at almost One in the morning, rehearsing what she wants to say to her. “Come on Kit, you can do it.” She repeats to herself trying to hype herself up. “Yeah Kit, You can do it.” A recognizable and annoying voice startles Kit. “Airk, Go Away! I’m busy.” She turns to see her brother grinning from ear to ear. “Oh yes of course. The one and only Kit Tanthalos of Tir Asleen is so busy trying to confess to the one thing she thinks she doesn’t have.” Replied Airk in a mocking tone. “Jade isn’t a thing, and you know that.” Kit corrected him. He walked over to Kits bed and flopped down onto her what should have been already packed clothes. “Oh I am highly aware that Jade is indeed not a thing, I mean if she was you would have already owned like twelve Jades. The point is "You are thinking too hard and you are only saying what You think You should say instead of what You feel for her.” She hates to admit it, but he’s right. “I can’t say what I feel.” She looked at herself in the mirror as if she didn’t know who she was talking to. “Oh I’m aware, but have you ever tried writing them down?” Airk suggested. Kit bit her lip and looked down. “There is too much I want to say to her. If I write it down now, It would take eternity to finish it.” Airk got up from his spot on Kit's bed and walked behind her. “Kit I’m no Love expert, but I am your brother and I can’t tell you what I know or at least what everyone thinks because we don’t know. But Jade will still love you.” He patted her on the back and made his way upstairs. “Also you may want to finish packing!” He yelled as he made it to the top of the stairs before shutting the door. She took one look in the mirror before deciding to finish packing or at least start.
Her clothes were all over her furniture, but she decided to deal with the last. She went around picking certain items to take. A few posters obviously, some plushies, books, pictures, and of course her three most prized possessions. Her replica Anakin Skywalker Episode III Lightsaber, her plush axolotl she's had since she was a baby, and obviously since its mandatory, her sword. When Jade, Airk and Kit were ten they were all introduced into the world of fantasy beyond fairy tales. So that Christmas, Mads decided to get all three of them swords. Of course they weren’t real, because knowing those three they would end up in the Emergency Room within fifthteen minutes of having them. They each received a 3 foot thick plastic bladed sword of their own. They claimed them as the best present they ever received. Kit’s sword had a dark gray blade with a slit down the center while the cross guard had white curves, and the handle was wrapped in brown leather. Kit gained more confidence when she wielded it. Like in another life she was a knight, defending a princess, she felt like one because Jade felt like her princess. Oh who is she kidding? Jade was Her princess in her heart. Jade had Kit at her knees. It was a pathetic act that Kit was proud of. That’s what she should say and that's what sparked her to sit down and take Airks advice. She grabbed her notebook and began to write.

Jade was finishing up packing. All her clothes were neatly put in suitcases, her decor was in some boxes, and everything else was in a tote box aside from her sword that was placed in a sleeve. It was nearing one in the morning and already she was nervous. She packed everything to keep her mind off of Kit. Kit, oh how she loved Kit and how she was going to tell her. She tried to get her mind off it, but clearly it wasn’t working. So she decided to throw a tennis ball in the air and catch it. Sometime in the middle of this she started talking to herself as if she was talking to Kit. “I love you Kit, I love you so much it’s ridiculous. I wanted to-.” “For Fuck Sake, have you still not told her?” Jade was startled to see Scorpia in her doorway. “No, I haven't told her yet. I don’t know what to say.” Scorpia walked into her sister's room and sat in her desk chair. “Tell her how you feel.” Scorpia suggested. Jade looked at her sister annoyed. “I’m trying, but the words can’t be found.” She tossed the tennis ball aside and pulled her knees in “I can’t do it. I don’t think I can do it. She can’t love me that way. Maybe another girl, but not me. I would never be a first choice.” Jade admitted tearing up a bit. Scorpia walked over and sat next to Jade and hugged her. Looking up at the fake glowing stars on the ceiling. “I remember when Dad put those up for you. Do you still count them?” She asked sincerely. Jade looked at her sister and smiled. “Every night.”
The two sisters spent the rest of the night talking and Scorpia gave Jade some much needed advice. “Count the reasons you love Kit the same way you count the stars.” So she did just that. She pulled out her notebook and started writing.

It was three in the morning and in different parts of Tir Asleen, two girls were laying in bed staring off into the ceiling. “Soon.” They both thought.

“Rise and Shine, Kids!” A loud voice echoed through Tanthalos Manor. Madmartigan was doing his best to wake his kids up. Kit was the last to wake up, she walked into the kitchen looking like a zombie. “There’s my Girl, Coffee?” Her father asked as she nodded. In less than two hours the two would be in their cars driving to college. “Remember you two, your credit cards are for School use or Emergencies only, it’s time for you two to learn to manage money.” Claimed Sorsha. This was not the first time this conversation came up. Although Kit had more important things on her mind.

Jade had woken up first to make breakfast for her family. It was Seven O’ Clock when she got done and everyone else woke up. “Morning Love.” Ballentine greeted as he walked past Jade to get their morning tea. “Morning Pop.” She greeted him back. “I heard you and your sister talking last night, I assume it was about Kit?” He knew them all too well. “Yes, she was helping me with what to say and such. I want to tell her, but I’m still afraid.” Ballentine walked over to his daughter, handing her a cup of tea. “Kit is a wonderful person darling, although questionable with her choices, yes. But she loves you now and I’m sure she will forever.” He claimed. Jade looked at her Father with delight. “Thank you, Pop. I needed that.” They hugged but were interrupted by a loud voice shouting. “My God, the sun is so damn bright. It is Sunday morning, TONE IT DOWN!” Ballentine looked at Jade with worry and concern. “Was your sister drunk last night?” No, but she also wasn’t with me all night.” Jade admitted. “Ah, Just between you and me, I love your sister, but I believe she inherited too much from your mother.”

The time for them to leave came all too soon. Kit and Airk had left and made a stop at the Claymore residents to pick up Jade. They were greeted by smiles and a few requests to stay out of trouble and call if needed, and for Airk to wear protection. As Airk was helping Jade pack her stuff into Kits Mercedes SUV. Ballentine pulled Kit away for a short conversation. “You’ll keep her away from trouble I know you will. But I want to hear you say it.” Kit looked at the man who was almost like a second father to her. “I promise to protect her.” She swore and he knew it was true. “Good now promise me you’ll always be there for her.” “I will, No matter what sir.” Kit admitted with a firm voice. “Sir? That’s new. I did, however quite like Mr. Tine.” He smiled. “Go on, help your Brother and Jade, Darling. Speaking of which, put a tracker or a leash on that boy before he ends up getting some poor girl pregnant. Or knowing him, three girls.” They laughed and went to help the two. “Oh, Kit!” Jade yelled out. “Yes, Ginger?” Kit answered with a smirk. Jade rolled her eyes and smiled. “Maroon sleeve, against my wall by my closet. Grab it for me, please?” “Yeah, I’ll get it!” “Thank you!” Kit made her way to Jade's room and although she was sent to get what she knew damn well was Jade’s sword, she stopped. Almost half of Jade's room was gone. It almost made Kit cry. She waved it off and got the sword. “She loves that thing you know?” “Hi Scorpia.” Kit turned around to see Scorpia in the doorway. “Off to college?” “Yes.” “Major?” “Screenwriting and Literature.” “Jades Major?” “Literature and Physical Sciences.” They’ve played this game before many times. “Take care of my sister.” Scorpia threatened. “I will.” Kit would protect Jade with every ounce of energy.

It had been an hour since they left their homes and now they’re on their three hour drive to Nockmarr University. Kit and Jade were in Kit's car talking about whatever. “You packed movies didn’t you?” Jade asked. “Well yeah! Got to keep the classics with us, because-”. “Physical media can’t be ripped away by some evil corporate streaming service, I know.” Jade finished. “Ah you know me so well.” Kit declared. “Do you care to wake me up when we’re there? I didn’t sleep much.” Jade asked. “Yeah, yeah I’ll wake you. Go ahead.” “Thank you.” After ten minutes Jade was asleep. Kit looked over and couldn’t help but smile. “Soon.” She said quietly.

Chapter 3: Moving and Kissing

Summary:

After unpacking and settling into their dorm an unexpected incident happens

Chapter Text

“Oh Jade I love you, you’re my knight and I want you forever.” Kit admitted. She was in Jade's arms on the back of a beautiful white horse. “I love you Darling, you are the most elegant princess in all the land.” Jade declared as she was leaning in for a kiss, but Kit interrupted her. “Jade, it’s time to wake up. Jade, wake up. Jade. Jade.” “Jade!” Jade woke up to Kit shaking her. “Hey, we’re here.” Jade looked outside to see a beautiful building. It was dark but breathtaking. Almost like it was a castle. Airk ran up to the car and jerked Kit’s door open. “Let’s go, before the other freshmen get here, come on, come on.” Airk repeated before running into the building. “I think this is the first time he’s ever been excited to go to school.” Jade sounded a bit shocked. “I think I should take your pops advice and put a leash or tracker on him.”

They got settled at the registry and started moving into their dorms. Airk’s room was a single so he could have privacy. Specifically so he can have girls over. Kit and Jade were in a private. It was close to a fancy hotel suite except it had one bedroom for two people to share. It was equipped with a Kitchen and half a living room. It was like they had their own apartment. “Right or left?” Kit asked Jade as they got into the bedroom. “Right!” Jade answered. They both got settled in by unpacking. Then left around Five to go grocery shopping for themselves and Airk and for dinner.

That first night was a bit loud. The semester didn’t start until Wednesday, so they had two days to tour around. People were partying so damn loud, but they didn’t want to complain on their first night. “Let’s hope it’s not always this loud.” Exclaimed Jade. “Pray it’s not.” Kit replied. They never slept that night, they just stayed up talking on either end of the couch. “Nervous?” Kit asked Jade. “Yes, are you?” Jade replied. “More than anything.” Kit admitted. “It’s okay, kiss?” “What!” Kit asked in shock. Jade looked startled. “I said, It’s okay Kit.” “Oh, sorry.” Kit’s face was red with embarrassment. That’s not really what Jade said, and she wasn’t going to tell Kit that, but now she feels guilty. “Actually, No. I said "Kiss.” “I knew it! But wait why.” “Remember when we were thirteen and we were watching Pumpkinhead? The night we first kissed?” Jade replayed that memory over and over in her head. “I think I would feel less nervous if we kissed.” “Oh.” Kit exclaimed. “Yeah we can…We can kiss.” Kit was now red with excitement. “Okay.” “Okay.” They moved closer, but this time they were grown and both have a certain feeling for each other. Kit put her hands on Jade's sides, and Jade put her hands on Kit's neck. “Kit?” “Yeah.” They looked in each other’s eyes before closing the space. They weren’t kids not knowing what to do with those feelings. They were grown, and both knew what that feeling was. This kiss felt the same as the first. But they never wanted to pull apart. This kiss went on for what felt like forever. They stayed together, deepening it. “Kit.” “Jade.” They whispered between kisses. After a while they pulled apart. It was getting too extreme. “Better?” Kit asked. “Much better.” Jade admitted.

That night almost never ended. Jade was lying in her bed texting Scorpia while Kit was in the living room watching TV. They both had one thing on their mind, that kiss. They both were into it. They kissed and it felt amazing. It felt as if they should be doing it more, they both thought. Kit was sitting on the couch watching Turner Classic Movies showing of ‘East of Eden’. She loved that movie, but couldn’t focus. They needed to know, they needed to tell the other, but can’t yet. That Kiss was welcomed more than they both knew. It was needed by both and wanted by both. Kit decides to see if she can say something or at least get another kiss. She makes her way over to the bedroom.

“You still haven’t told her?” Scorpia asked through the phone. “No I haven’t yet.” “But you two kissed, again.” “Yes, we kissed and I’d really like to do it again, but I don’t want to seem desperate.” A frustrated Jade admitted. “Ah, yes make her beg.” “No, I’m not gonna do that.” “Then go for it. You said she was into it, yeah? Go for it.” “I’ll think about it. Listen, I got to go. Love you.” “Love you sis.” Jade threw her phone to the side and decided to check on Kit. She opened the door to see Kit standing in the doorway. “Hi.” “Hello.” They exchanged like they were strangers. Kit walked in and grabbed Jade by the face and kissed her deeply. She pulled back. “I’m sorry.” Kit apologized. “It’s just, I REALLY like kissing you. Tell me to stop and I will.” “Kit!” Jade yelled, getting her attention. “I won’t tell you to stop. Because if I kiss You, I may never stop.” Kit moved closer eagerly, looking Kit up and down. “I suppose there's only one way to find out.” Kit shuts the door behind her and Jade wastes no time pushing Kit against the back of it.

Chapter 4: Fires in More Than One Place

Summary:

Something disrupts Kit and Jade, along with the three meeting a enemy

Chapter Text

Kit and Jade were gently moving their lips together slowly. It was as if they had been doing this for years, even though it had only been five minutes. They kept their hands in the same place, both were too nervous to explore the other. The door behind Kit was old, so they tried to be gentle to not break it down. Jade was the first to ask for access to Kits mouth, it was eagerly welcomed. Jade felt more confident, she felt as if she could have Kit in more ways than one. Kit was feeling desired, the same way she feels for Jade. Nothing could ruin this moment for them.
It was getting hot in their room. They noticed the change a little later than expected. They pulled apart for a bit, sweat dripping down their faces. “It’s getting a bit hot in here.” Jade addressed. “It feels hot in other places, too.” Kit admitted with want in her voice. “No, Kit, it’s HOT.” Jade sounded concerned. “Do you smell that?” That’s when they noticed the smoke before the alarms went off.

Jade and Kit ran out of their dorm in a hurry. The entire West Wing Dorm attendants were out in the courtyard. There was fire coming from the East Wing, and half the school was outside along with the fire department. Everyone was asking questions. “What happened?” “Who started the fire?” “Are we going to be drug tested?” There were so many people talking, and no one answering. A tall man in a navy blue suit walked out in front of the school. He had dark gray hair and looked scruffed up. He walked up the school entrance megaphone in hand. “Attention everyone, I am Mr. Kael, Headmaster of this institution!” “Wow this guy sounds like a hard ass!” Kit and Jade both jumped at the sound of that, the commenter being none other than Airk of course. “Where the hell were you?” Kit asked her brother. “I’ve been in my room all night. Man, have you noticed how small the bathrooms are?” Airk responded. “The fire was caused by an overheated toaster oven. Let that be a reminder to those not living in the private dorms, keep your cooking appliances at an even level. You may return to your dorms.” Mr. Kael went on, but nobody left. “I said go to your dorms, NOW!” Everyone else scattered, except for The Twins and Jade. “My room was in the East Wing and it’s blocked off. Can I stay with you two till it’s open again? Please?” Airk desperately asked. Kit and Jade looked at each other then back at Airk. “Fine, you can stay.” Kit answered. Airk was about to thank them, until. “YOU THREE! COME FORWARD, IMMEDIATELY!” They all turned to look at Kael, motioning for them to approach him. They walked over with one familiar feeling, they know they’re in trouble. They were standing three feet away when they approached him. “What do you three think you’re doing? I told everyone to go to their rooms. You three think you’re special? Well you’re not.” Kael admitted with anger in his voice. “Sir, my brother was just-.” Kit tried to explain. “Just what? Asking for drugs? Asking for your friend's number? What?” Kael interrupted. “He was asking if he could stay in our private dorm, since his room was in the East Wing and it’s blocked off.” Kit replied. “Private dorm?” Kael scoffed. “The Private Dorms are only for the best of our scholars. You three don’t look like you fit those structures.” He continued with cockiness in his voice. “What are your names?” He asked. “Jade Claymore, Sir.” Jade answered. “And we’re Airk and Kit Tanthalos.” Kit replied. “Tanthalos?” Kael questioned. “As in Madmartigan and Sorsha Tanthalos?” “Yes Sir, they are our parents.” Airk answerd. “Yes Curls, I got that!” Kael barked back, making the three jump back. “I know your parents, I don’t like your parents.” That was no shocker to them, a lot of people didn’t. “I’m watching you two. As for you Red. Keep with them, you’ll be in trouble as well. Now go to your rooms and stay out of the way.” They wasted no time in leaving. They were no strangers to situations with teachers or authority figures not liking them. However this time felt different. They were scared.

______________

That night Airk slept on their couch, while the two of them lay in their beds with an unresolved tension between them. The kiss was mutual, consented and wanted desperately by both of them. Kit was wide awake while Jade had her back turned to the wall and sound asleep. Kit took the advantage and pulled out her notebook she carefully placed inside her pillow case and continued writing. Little did she know, Jade was awake.

Yeah Kael is in my story. Also, who could have started the fire? Wait for the next chapter.

Chapter 5: Guess Who's Back

Summary:

Kit and Jade have a moment the night before the first day

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

‘I heard you missed me, say hello, Been on the run turning gutters into gold They do what we do, wherever we go My doctor says that it's bad for my ego. Heard you missed us Heard you missed us Yeah, guess who's back?’ Kits alarm blared through the bedroom. It was 4:30 in the morning and for some reason they both had an early class. Not only that, it was the first day of college. They were both still a bit shaken by the encounter with Kael two days prior. It was so early, they didn’t even realize they woke up in the same bed. When realization hit them they both scooted away from each other, promptly causing Kit to fall backwards off the bed. “Ow.” She said in a small sense of pain. “Are you alright?” Jade asked, concerned. “Yeah! I’m good.” Kit assured. “Well then, you may want to turn off your alarm. Not that I don’t like the song, just that we have to get ready.” Jade kindly held out her hand to help Kit up, and she gladly took her best friend's hand. Mentally noting how strong Jade is and how her hands were equally soft and smooth. Kit loved holding Jade's hands. It’s like a little reward for her. They way every crease is curved, healed over bruises, scars and cuts from over the years. The calluses from the hands on activities and all the part time jobs they had. Even though Kit was rich as hell, he wanted to be with Jade at all times. Her hands were like a timeline of small events in her life that Kit was lucky enough to be present for. “Thanks! Hurry though, can't be late or Kael will have our asses!” Kit remarked as she walked over to her night stand to turn off the alarm, remembering the events of the night prior.

The Night Before

They had just gotten back to their dorm after a tour of the entire campus. They had taken a tour before, but this was more a social thing. They mainly went for three reasons and three only.
1. Keep Airk out of trouble
2. Find their classrooms
3. It was mandatory so they had no choice
They got back to their dorm around 9:25pm. They were exhausted. “Oh my GOD! This school is ridiculously huge.” Jade exclaimed. “Yeah! And did you notice Kael? He kept looking at us and Airk. It was weird.” Kit added. “I think he has it out for us.” Jade flopped onto the couch and let out a sigh. “Probably, I mean he’s made it clear he is not a fan of Sorsha and Mads.” Jade remarked as Kit got them drinks from the fridge both Coca Cola of course. “I guess you’re right.” Kit agreed. They sat there for a while before heading off to their room. As of tomorrow, they start college. The night was long. Both girls were lying and staring at the ceiling. In the semi-darkness of the room, Kit turned over to look at Jade's side of the room. “Jade? Jade? You awake?” Kit asked. “Yeah.” Jade answered in the middle of the night before asking. “You want to watch a movie?”

That night they watched one of their favorites, Pumpkinhead. It holds a very special memory for them, they watched it the night of their first kiss. They loved the movie itself, but they have a memory with it. “Sam Winston was a genius for this design.” Kit praised the design artist and director for the creation of the title character. “They don’t make monsters like this anymore.” Jade added. The tv in their room was a bit smaller than the one in the living room, but they didn’t want to leave their beds. They continued with the movie for a bit until Jade paused it. “Kit, can I tell you something?” There was a tone in her voice Kit recognized immediately. “Yeah Jade, you can tell me anything.” Kit assured. Jade looked at her then looked away. Kit was taken in by the sight. It was similar to the first time they kissed. The light from the tv, the moonlight reflecting through the window. The face that even with barely enough light Kit and make out every detail of Jade's face. “Kit, I, I, I,” The words were there, but she couldn’t say it. ‘Come on Jade don’t force it.’ She thought to herself. “Jade, I’m listening.” Kit chimed in. “Kit I, I want to cuddle, I mean, I would like to cuddle with you. No, I mean do you want to cuddle with me?” Kit looking across the room smiled a bit. “Oh? Oh, yeah I’ll cuddle with you.” Kit hopped out of her bed and walked over to Jade's bed. Jade moved over and raised the covers to make room for Kit as she slid into her bed. They were face to face. Kit spoke up first. “Hi.” Jade smiled. “Hi.” “So are we going to lay here and quote Heartstopper the whole time or what?” Kit asked jokingly, making Jade laugh a bit. They looked at each other, then it happened again. Their lips met then pulled away. “Sorry.” Kit apologized. “No, Do it again. Please?” Jade asked and Kit happily replied.

Present Morning

They were walking out the door to head off to class when Jade asked Kit. “Something on your mind?” Kit looked at her and smiled. “You have no idea.”

Chapter Text

It was a warm fall morning. Actually it was not technically Fall, but it was close enough. Kit and Jade were making their way to the first class of the semester. They both had a Literature class, yes it was early in the morning, but it was the best class they could get. The teacher was a wise old man. A man of great knowledge. He was a legend in this school, and a walking Legacy within Tir Asleen. A man who has had several of his books become films or some other form of screen adaptation. A man named Willow Ufgood. They Had to be in his class.

They got to class, room 487. “Come on, Come on, I want seats in front!” Kit exclaimed eagerly. “Calm down Kit, I'm positive we’re a bit early.” Jade assured. They opened the door and the room was practically full. There were four spare seats upfront, Kit immediately grabbed Jade's wrist and ran to the seats. While running they bumped into two other students, causing the four to fall to the ground. “Oh sorry about that!” The boy let out. “We shouldn’t run in a classroom anyway, especially when it’s packed.” Oh no, it’s okay! My friend here is eager for front row seats.” Jade announced. “Well your friend is a bit eager, isn’t she?” The girl sounded a bit sarcastic. “Oh? And who are you to be so rude?” Asked an offended Kit. “Oh sorry.” The boy stood and helped Jade and his friend up, Kit refused his hand and got herself up. “Thank you, I’m Jade, this is Kit.” Jade introduced them as she stuck out her hand and the boy gladly shook it, Kit looked a bit jealous. “Oh, I’m Graydon, Graydon Hastur and this is my friend Elora Danan.” They shook hands and it occurred to Jade she never gave them their last names. “Oh.” She pointed at herself. “Claymore.” She exclaimed, then pointed towards Kit. “Tanthalos.” Kit answered. Graydon looked in awe as Elora looked dumbfounded. “Oh it makes sense, Little Miss Princess thinks she can run wherever.” Elora announced with anger in her voice. “Listen Goldie Locks.” Kit started. “I don’t know who you think-” She was cut off as the door slammed shut. There he stood, Willow Ufgood. “In your seats, please.” He spoke. Like magic everyone sat down. Somehow Kit ended up between Jade and Elora. “My name is Mr. Ufgood.” He continued. “As you may know, I don’t do nonsense. This class will be taken seriously.” He walked over to this podium and as he got on his step stool, some kid in the back decided to be funny. “PECK!” He shouted. “GET OUT!” Willow shouted Louder. The kid practically ran out of the class. “I heard a bit of arguing before I walked in. Would the Arguers please come forth.” He asked. Kit, Jade, Elora and Graydon all walked forward. “Names?” He asked. “Elora Danan.” “Hastur, Graydon.” “Jade Claymore.” “Uh uh Kit, Kit Tanthalos.” He looked at Kit. “As in Madmartigan Tanthalos?” “Yes, I uh, I’m his Daughter.” “I can see that, unless you have a different name or set of pronouns, I can see that. You look just like him. We were friends.” Kit looked at the man in shock. ‘He knew my dad?’ She thought. Oh he is going to have some explaining to do. “I know your parents, I know how they were, especially your father. Please cause me no trouble will you? I have my Daughter here.” “I will try my best not to cause trouble, sir.” She swore.

Jade and Kit decided that the two of them would meet up during lunch; they had a few different classes earlier that day. Kit was in the courtyard picnic area waiting for Jade when a voice perked behind her. “So how’s the day going?” Airk asked. “Willow Ufgood is a real badass, also He was friends with DAD!” Kit answered. “Oh damn, well I also heard from Jade that you two got into a bit of a fight this morning.” Kit looked at her brother. “No, just bumped into a bitch and her boy.” She answered. “No, no, no.” Airk continued. “Graydon Hastur, as in Hastur of Galladorn.” Kit stopped in her spot. He wasn’t just some Hastur, he was one of The Hasturs. “What?” She asked. “Yeah I met them in the bakery shop up the street. Elora works there. They’re nice. I told them I was your brother. She said she was sorry for me.” “That bitch started it!” Kit announced. “Please tell me you're not still going on about that?” Jade asked as she walked up to Kit. “Airk has apparently made friends with the enemy.” She claimed. Jade rolled her eyes as she sat next to Kit. “There are worse things that could happen.” Jade assured. “Yeah for example. We have Kael watching us remember?” Airk mockingly asked his sister. “Ugh, don’t remind me.” The siblings continued in conversation. Jade however felt uneasy the rest of the day. She felt she was being watched.

The day continued on and it was close to classes being over for them. They decided to stay in their dorm and talk about the day. Jade still felt uneasy, however Kit noticed it. “Jade? Are you okay?” She asked. “I feel like we’re being watched. Or at least like I’m being watched.” Jade answered. “Jade, don’t let Airk get you. He’s stupid. The school is huge, Kael isn’t going to spend his time watching us.” Kit assured. “I don’t know. I feel like something is up.”

Notes:

Ohhhh our girl is uneasy. Also Of Course Kit and Elora are gonna have a rivalry, it wouldn't be right if they didn't.

Duh of course Willow is a professor.

What do you think is wrong with Jade? Why does she feel like she is being watched?

Chapter Text

“I don’t know, I feel like I’m being watched. He said he would be watching us, but Kit and Airk haven’t noticed. I just feel weird.” Jade confessed to her sister over the phone. It had been three days since the first day of school, and Jade still felt off. “What did you say this guy's name was?” Scorpia asked. “Kael.” Jade answered. “He’s the headmaster, and he made it clear he’d be watching us. But I feel like I’m the only one being watched.” Scorpia paused, she hated when her sister felt uncomfortable. “I got to go sis, I have a message to send. I love you.” She hung up before Jade could say anything else.

Kit was in the hallway walking back to the dorm from doing Laundry. She was minding her own business, listening to her headphones when suddenly her phone started ringing. She removed her headphones to see Scorpia is calling her. “Hello.” She answered. “Listen here.” Scorpia replied, sounding serious. “I want to know about this Kael fuck who is making My Dear Sister feel uneasy. Tell me what you know.” “Wow, not even a hi or hello? Not even a ‘Hi Kit how's school?” Kit replied mockingly. “Listen here you little shit. This guy is making Jade, the WOMAN you love, feel unsafe. He is making MY little sister feel unsafe.” Scorpia was really pissed. “Either you tell me what you know, or I will kick your ass. And you know I can and will.” Kit went silent, Scorpia has always scared her. “Okay so this is the issue.” Kit spent the next twenty minutes telling Scorpia the whole issue. “Very well, thank you for telling me. Now go make sure my sister is okay.” Scorpia then hung up and Kit sprinted back to her dorm.

Scorpia was alone in her room. Ballentine was away on a night shift. Poor man works too hard for them. Scorpia was doing her research on this ‘Kael’. Making sure she can get the information she needs. After about an hour, she sat back in her desk chair and decided she needed an inside man to help with this. Kit and Airk would be too obvious, plus Kit is needed to be there with Jade. She picked up her phone and decided on the only person who she can depend on.

It was a warm Saturday morning. The first week of school was over and Kit and Jade decided to explore the town around the school. Kit thought it would be a nice way to get Jade in a better mood, and also to find out where Goldie Locks works. Airk is supposed to meet them later that night. They decided to walk around and explore the small shops around the town. They went into some strange places, but found themselves in a store that was practically made for Kit. It was a straight up nerd store. Comics, movies, books, action figures, etc. Kit went wild and Jade ended up practically following the girl everywhere. They were in there for nearly an hour and spent over two hundred dollars, Kit refused to let Jade pay for anything. Therefore, Kit bought Jade six novels, three graphic novels, a model set, and a fox plush. She also bought a secret surprise for Jade. Kit made it clear, they would be back.

They found the bakery where Elora worked. Kit practically ran in and looked around for the blonde. “Oh great it’s you!” A voice behind her perked up. She turned to see the girl in question. “Yeah it’s me.” Kit stateted, crossing her arms. Elora was wearing a light brown apron holding a muffin tray. Kit smirked. “So you serve the muffins?” Elora smirked back. “No.” She answered firmly. “I Make the muffins.” “Are they poisoned?” Kit asked. “No, to be honest it seems that you are fond of my muffins. Your brother seemed even more fond.” Elora answered. “No, not at all.” Kit replied. Elora looked Kit up and down. “Did you come here for a reason? Or are you just going to stand there?” She asked. “What are your intentions with my brother?” Kit asked. “None.” Elora answered. “If you didn’t notice. I have a boyfriend.” Kit looked at the girl with complete shock. “Oh!” She let out. “Yeah Graydon.” Elora continued. “I feel sorry for him.” Kit remarked. “I feel sorry for your Girlfriend.” Elora bit back. Kit’s face went red, she smiled a bit then shouted. “She’s not my girlfriend!” “Well.” Elora started. “You left her outside.” Kit turned to look out the window to see Jade standing there, staring off. Kit ran outside. Before she opened the door, she looked back at Elora. “This isn’t over, Ms. Muffin.” She barked. “Didn’t think it was, Princess.” Elora bit back.

Kit got back outside to Jade who was staring down the street. “Jade, I'm sorry.” Kit apologized. Jade kept her eyes focused on the street in front of her. Kit stood beside her, trying to figure out what she was looking at. “What are we staring at?” Kit asked. Jade started sprinting down the street, Kit followed. “Jade what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Kit kept asking. Finally they approached the destination. They came up to a man in a tan leather jacket, beat up ripped blue jeans, suede brown boots, and round sunglasses. ‘Oh, oh.’ Kit thought. “Boorman!” Jade shouted. “Jade!” The man replied with a smile as he put his hands up. Jade was not amused. “What are you doing here?” She asked. “Oh I was just in the neighborhood!” Boorman answered, and he turned to Kit. “Hi Kit, how are you?” He asked. “No, answer me!” Jade interrupted. The Claymores didn’t take it nicely when being lied to, or being cut off. Boorman looked to the side in defeat. “Your sister sent me here to watch you.” He answered. “I got a Job at the school as a janitor, and I’m here to make sure Kael doesn’t cause you harm. She told me about the issue and I’m just here to keep you safe.” “By spying on me?” Jade asked. “No.” He replied. “Then why are you here, instead of at the school?” “I’m exploring the area.” Kit stood there not knowing what to do or say. They went back and forth for hours. Until Jade decided to walk off and Kit followed.

Chapter Text

They got back to the dorm in a rush. Jade was furious with her sister for sending her spy aka sneaky link to watch over her. “Jade! Are you good? What’s up?” Kit asked while shutting the door. She was worried about her friend, deeply worried. “No Kit, I am not good.” Jade answered in a furious but calm response. Kit looked at her friend with care. She wanted to know what got her so upset. She wants her love to be okay. She walked over to Jade, arms out, waiting for her to take her invited embrace. Jade wrapped her arms around Kit and sobbed. “Sssshhhh, I got you. I’m here, I am not gonna let him hurt you. I’ll protect you, I promise.” Kit assured her. Jade kept her head in the crook of Kits neck. She needed her best friend. She needed her love. She pulled away and looked at Kit. Fuck she loved Kit. She leaned in for a kiss, but Kit denied her advances which shocked Jade. “No, no, you're really vulnerable right now. I don’t want to feel like I’m taking advantage of you.” Jade REALLY loved Kit, especially right now. “Kit, please kiss me.” Jade pleaded with Kit. “Please?” Kit looked at her friend with sad eyes. She couldn’t deny Jade, who was she even kidding? She stepped towards Jade and their lips crashed together. They walked backwards till they felt the cold kitchen counter behind Jade. They refused to let the other go. Jades hands were tangled in Kits hair, while Kits hands were holding Jades waist. Kit picked Jade up and sat her on the counter, Jade wrapped her legs around Kits waist, Kits hands traveled up Jade's sides. They need each other. They WANT each other. Sadly that want was interrupted by a knock on their door followed by a loud entrance by Airk. “Hello Girls, I was wondering if you would insist me on,- OH SHIT YOUR FUCKING!”

After about thirty minutes of explaining to Airk they were indeed NOT fucking, he continued with his reason for entering their room. “Okay so, I like a girl!” Airk exclaimed. “Sorry bro, Goldilocks has a boy victim already!” Kit answered. “Who?” Airk asked. “Elora.” Jade answered. “School just started?” Airk asked. “It’s Kit, does it even matter if school just started?” “No.” “Exactly, but yes Elora does already have a boyfriend so you’re out of the question with her.” Airk looked at Jade with determination. “It’s not Elora.” Jade and Kit looked at each other in shock, as Airk looked between the two. “What?” He asked, confused. “With your track record we have the right to be confused.” Kit exclaimed. Airk looked at them with regret. “Know what?” He threw his hands up in defeat. “Fuck it, I’ll ask Elora and Graydon for help.” He got up and walked to the door. “Goodnight, I love you two, bye.” The door slammed shut. Leaving the two alone again.

Kit stared at Jade not knowing what to say. ‘Did we go too far?’ She thought. “Kit.” Jade spoke up. The girl in question looked up. “Yeah?” Jade stood up and walked over to her friend, she leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. “Thank you for earlier.” Kit looked up at Jade. “You’re welcome.” Kit loved the way Jade looked at her, she loved looking at Jade in general. “I’m going to go shower, dinner afterwards?” Jade asked. “Oh yeah, I can make something here!” Kit exclaimed. “Sounds good.” Jade answered with a smile. Jade made her way to the bathroom and Kit made her way to the kitchen. Halfway through cooking Kit remembered the surprise she had for Jade. While in the cool store they found. There was a decent amount of tees. Kit noticed one that she knew Jade would Love. She got to the bags that were thrown in a corner, and searched for the shirt in question. She located it and ran and sat it on Jade's bed. All the other items they purchased can be dealt with later.

After about twenty five minutes. Jade's shower was over. She wrapped herself in a towel and walked out of the bathroom into the bedroom. She looked on her bed and noticed a shirt. Placed neatly on top was a note. ‘I saw this and it reminded me of a fond memory we both have. - love Kit.’ It was a grey shirt with The Real Ghostbusters design printed on it. In Jade's mind she could hear the sound of a ruler cracking over a boy's face. “Don’t make fun of my Friend” She heard a young Kit say. Jade smiled, a tear trickled down her face, she was indeed deeply in love with Kit. She got dressed wearing the shirt and walked out of their bedroom. She knew she had to tell Kit soon.

Kit finished dinner and made both plates for her and Jade. She was in the living room Labyrinth was across the tv, she was waiting for Jade to join her. ‘I hope she liked the shirt.’ Kit thought to herself. As soon as the thought entered her head Jade walked into the living room wearing it. But she didn’t see Jade as eighteen year old Jade, she saw five year old Jade. The same girl who she first made friends with. The girl she broke a boy's jaw over. She saw thirteen year old Jade, who she had her first kiss with. She saw fifteen year old Jade, who she wanted to impress with jumping off the balcony. The pain in her foot came back with that thought. She saw Jade as Jade, not anyone else. She saw HER Jade. The Jade she fell in love with. The Jade she has probably loved since they first met. The Jade she will give her life for. She was in Love and there is no Denying it. This love is so strong it could shield them from anything. They don’t care about the world, they care about each other. This is their world and everyone else is just obstacles. “Thank you for the shirt! I love it.” Jade thanked her. Kit looked at her and smiled.
——

In the Headmasters office, Kael was doing research on some ‘specific’ trouble makers. Two in particular are capturing his interest. Kit and Jade. “Madmartigans daughter looks like a whole heap of fun.” He thought to himself aloud. The two are clearly friends based on their records. Same teachers, same activities, something really about the two took his interest. ‘I wonder how long it can take for me to destroy the reputation of Ms. Tanthalos?’ He thought to himself. However Jade was another purpose of interest to him. “Jade Claymore, How have we never met before?”

Chapter Text

It was a glooming Tuesday morning filled with clouds and rain. The two friends barely made it to class without getting soaked. The assignments by Professor Ufgood are fairly easy, however this one is a bit of a pain. The one thing Jade and Kit fear the most. Group Projects. They are luckily assigned together, along with Elora and Graydon. “Son of a bitch.” Kit grieves under her breath. “Is there a Problem, Kit?” Willow asked politely but firmly. Kit looked up worried. “Oh, no, No! No, everything is fine! We’re good Mr. Ufgood.” Kit exclaims. Willow looks at her mockingly. “Very well then. The assignment is to analyze and understand a classic form of literature. No you can not choose it. It will be assigned.” Class went on with a large amount of complaints. They were assigned with ‘The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe’. Not really classic, but classic within popular reading material. “So when do we want to get together to discuss the project?” Graydon asked politely as they all left the classroom. “I have work today and tomorrow.” Elora exclaimed. “Me and Kit don’t really have plans, but this storm seems like it's not going to be letting up anytime soon.” Jade replied. “Oh, well then. We can all exchange numbers and discuss this in a group chat?” Graydon asked and they all agreed. They exchanged numbers and went to their respective classes. “If you want I can drive you to work and wait for you? I don’t want you to get caught up in this storm.” Jade heard Graydon ask Elora. ‘They’re good together.’ She thought. Kit and Jade walked to the stop point where they had to split towards separate classes.

“So if you look at the back of a Male Platypus, there is a spur that has an almost equal amount of Venom as a rattlesnake.” Listening to some musky old dude talk about Platypuses was the last thing Kit wanted to deal with. Thank God she got a seat in the back. She was pretending to read her science book, she was really scrolling through her phone. She was looking at pictures of her and Jade. That kiss last night was something special. Then again, all their kisses are special. She was enjoying her thoughts until some prick threw a wad of paper at her. She looked up in anger and nobody was looking at her. She unwadded the paper, it was a note. ‘U R Super fucking Hot. Wanna Go out sum time? - Kegan.’ “Who the fuck is Kegan?” Kit said to herself. The bell rang declaring the end of class. Kit was getting her stuff into her backpack when she caught the strong smell of Axe. “So babe, did you get my note?” An irritating voice asked from behind her. She turned in disgusted to be met with tall, loud and obviously entitled. She looked this dude up and down with her known judging look on her face. “Who the hell are you?” She asked, annoyed. “I’m Kegan, The Kegan Cross. Alpha male of Ulta Prey.” ‘Oh great, a frat fuck. “I noticed you in class, and I was thinking maybe you’re probably a freshman, I’m a sophomore you may need a cool non creep to hang out and chill with. Maybe tell you where all the good parties are.” He kept talking. “So what do you say baby girl?” He asked. Kit looked at him with every nerve in her body pressed and pissed. “Do you know who I am?” She asked. “Yeah, Kit Cantaloupe.” He answered, she got more pissed. “I am Kit Tanthalos. I am the Daughter of one of the richest and most important power couples in the world. We own Microsoft companies, dairy farms, movie theaters, medical science labs, and fashion brands. I am fucking royalty. Who the fuck do you think you are walking up to me with your first grammar skills? You think I’m some groupie slut who falls for you alpha bros? Fuck no! Also I am a LESBIAN! Wipe those sick twisted thoughts out of your fucking head. My sexuality isn’t your fetish.” Kit exclaimed with more anger than that was originally meant. She got her backpack and went to walk out seeing Jade's face in the doorway. “Well fuck you bitch! You’re ugly anyway. I can do better, I can get better bitches than you!” Kegan must have got his feelings really hurt. Kit turned and looked at him. “Your left hand doesn't count, bitch.” She turned and walked out, as always Jade followed.

They got back to their room and Kit was beyond upset. “What the fuck was that?” Jade asked, concerned. “That thing was Kegan Crotch. Fuck asked me to go out and decided to insult MY name. He walked up to me and called me Babe and Baby girl so I made it clear I’m not into his ass.” Kit dropped onto the couch while Jade looked at Kit with pride. “I am so sick of these Alpha fucks.” Kit exclaimed. “I agree the world would be peaceful without these so-called men who think they are Gods gifted to women.” Jade agreed. Kit looked up at Jade with heart eyes. “If anything you’re my gift from God.” Kit complimented with a smile. Jade looked down at Kit with tears in her eyes and dove in for a kiss that was welcomed. The storm was nearing close, the rain trickled down the window, Jade pulled away to look at Kit. Kit with puppy eyes, Kit with artic blue eyes. Kit with the soft brown hair. Kit with soft lips. Kit with the heart of gold. Kit, Kit, Kit.

Kit looked at Jade with something she’s been told she’d never have to deal with. Want. So many people have always told her, she never has to want for anything. But she knows that feeling all too well. What she wants most in this world is her best friend, her roommate, her sidekick, her anchor, her Jade. Jade cannot be bought, she can not be manufactured, she can not be made in a factory. Jade is limited edition and there is one and she is here with Kit. Kit looked at her. The face she has carved into her brain. The freckles she has counted. A new feeling was felt in Kit's chest. “Jade, I am in love with you.”

Notes:

Of course Narnia is going to be here.

Am I taking advantage of insulting Alpha Male Dude Bros in this chapter? Yes, yes I am.

Jade looked at Kit, frozen with that last sentence replaying in her head. “Jade, I am in Love with you” On a loop in her mind. Does Kit mean it? “Wha, What?” Jade stuttered. Kit looked at Jade with a new feeling. A weight was lifted off her shoulders. “Jade, you are my best friend, we have spent basically our entire lives together. Where you go, no matter where it is, I will follow you blind. I know you better than any other person in the world. I know all your secrets and you mine. All except for one. I’ve been in love with you I think ever since I first met you. I only realized it that night I was in the hospital when I broke my foot. I was thinking how could you love someone as reckless as me. I was thinking about how enchanting you are, how I adore you, why I was always acting a fool in front of you. I love you, Jade. I love you so much. I love your eyes, your hair, your freckles, your voice, you smile, I love every small detail about you. I am yours. No matter what, my heart belongs to you. It always has and always will.” Kit looked at Jade with tears in her eyes. Worried her best friend might not feel the same. Jade teared up. Kit panicked. “No, forget everything I said.” Kit was really panicking. “Kit, no.” Jade whispered. “I am so stupid, I should have never of-.” Kit was cut off by hands on either side of her face. Brown hues staring into her blue. “I’m so sorry, Jade.” Kit apologized. Jade looked at her love, Kit is rarely ever vulnerable. Jade is the only one who has seen her like this. However, this time was different. “Kit, I love you, too. Not just as a friend. I’m in love with you.” Jade smiled at her friend. “When you were in the hospital, I realized then, too. I couldn’t stop worrying about you. I refused to go to sleep. When I tried to sleep, thoughts of you clouded my brain. Your eyes that were so blue I wanted to swim in, the smile that made the stars seem less bright, your voice that had a melody no song could beat, those lips that were softer than any cloud could be. I fell out of bed at the realization that I was in love with my best friend. I didn’t know if you felt the same, so I decided to be with you in my dreams.” Jade confessed. “Do you remember when we first kissed?” Jade asked, Kit nodded. “That night in your room. I got a feeling. My heart was-,” ”Beating fast, everything felt so loud and pounding in your ears?” Kit interruptedly asked. Jade nodded. “I felt it, too. Then when we kissed, everything slowed down. I still think about that night. The way the light from the TV kissed your skin. How the glow made your tan skin bright. How nervous we were, how scared I was to ask you to kiss me. I didn’t know what that feeling was until I realized I was in love.” Kit confessed. “I feel it every time I kiss you.” Jade looked at Kit, Kit looked at Jade. “Jade?” ”Kit?” They jumped and closed the space between them.

Jade's hands were tangled in Kit's hair. Lips locked together refusing to let go. Kit walked them backwards to the kitchen counter. The storm echoed closer. Lighting lit up their whole room. Kit lifted Jade onto the counter, removed her lips from Jade’s to place them gently on her neck. Jade threw her head back, running her hands from Kit’s head to her back. Clawing at her shirt. Kit switched to the other side of Jade’s neck. Jade’s eyes were closed, she was letting out small whispers of moans. Kit ran her hands down Jade's waist and thighs. They waited years for this.

Chapter Text

There is a conversation to be had, but that can wait till tomorrow. They waited long enough for each other. What's one night filled with lust love, compared to years of pining, waiting, and wanting? Jade moved her hands from Kit’s back to her own shirt. With one swift move, it was over her head leaving her in her black bra. Kits eyes locked on Jades. She nervously looked down to Jade’s chest, her eyes widened and she couldn’t keep herself from smiling. Jade reached out to Kit’s shirt undoing the buttons on her flannel, slowly. Kit’s breathing started to hitch. Jade looked at her nervously. “Is this okay?” She asked. Kit looked at her. “Jade everything you do is okay. I want this.” Kit assured. Jade smiled, Kit smiled back and their lips met again. Jade continued on the buttons and pulled the shirt apart. Kit pulled it off the rest of the way leaving her in a green sports bra. Jade ran her fingers down Kit's arm, wrapping her legs around Kit. Kit lifted Jade off the counter and packed her to their room, laying them both down on Kit’s bed.

Kit laid on top of Jade, her left knee pressing into her. Kit's lips traveled around Jade's face and neck. Jade's hands traveling down her back as she whimpers in pleasure. Nails digging into Kit. Kit, Kit, Kit. That’s all she wants. She’s all Kit wants. Jade lifts up pushing Kit back and she reaches behind herself to undo her bra. Kit watches in awe as Jade slowly pulls her bra off. Her breast should be stuff of myth, Kit thought. Perfect in every way. Tan, covered in freckles, nipples sharp, they were attached to the most stunning, most enchanting woman to ever exist. Kit reached out and Jade nodded. Kit cupped her left breast slowly leaning down to lick around the nipple before sliding her mouth around it and sucking. Jade gasped, then moaned. Kit let her free hand play with the other breast before rotating. Jade fell back letting Kit run her hands down her torso. Kit reached Jade’s pants and looked at Jade for confirmation. She grinned and nodded her head. Kit undid Jade’s pants and wasted no time getting them off. Kit decided to make things even and tore her sports bra off of her. She reached for Jade's hand and placed it softly on her breast. Kit leaned back down and softly kissed Jade. Jade’s hands circled Kit’s breast. She dreamed of this. Having the girl she loved alone with her. Letting the girl touch her, letting Jade touch her. She wants this more than anything. Kit kissed down her body until she reached Jade’s panties. Kit stuck her tongue under the left side and lifted it into her teeth. She looked at Jade and pulled the panties down with her teeth. Jade gasped, that was the hottest thing she’d ever seen Kit do. Kit kissed up Jade's legs to the spot where Jade wanted, no, needed her most. Jade opened her legs, Kit kissed around her folds. Kit slowly licked a long line up and started sucking on Jade's clit. Jade gasped, Kit smiled. Kit used her right hand to open Jade, while using the left to reach for her lover's hand. Jade took it gracefully. Kit slid her fingers and tongue inside Jade. The girl in question was a moaning mess. Kit loved every second of this. The way Jade tasted couldn’t match any cuisine she’s ever had. She was better, better than anything Kit ever tasted. “Ahhh, ahhhh, oh oh Kit.” Jade let out. Kit sped up her pace with her fingers curling her fingers inside Jade. She remembered all those nights where she thought of Jade as she touched herself. Wondering what she tasted like, what she’d sound like, how she would want to be touched. Did Jade ever do that? Did she ever touch herself to the thought of her? Kit wanted to know. She’ll ask later. “Kit! Kit, faster! Please!” Kit obeyed. Jade couldn’t contain herself; she was gripping the sheets. Moans escaped her mouth along with the name she waited so long to scream like this. “Kit!!!!!!!!!” Jade’s legs shook and her face turned red as she screamed her name. Kit ate away until juices covered Kit's hand as she pulled her fingers out. She licked away all she could from her fingers, then from Jade. After one last lick she pulled away, lips shining. Jade rolled over onto her stomach, Kit pulled her blanket over Jade's lower part leaving her back exposed. Kit pressed soft kisses along Jade’s spine. “That was lovely.” Jade spoke. “The sex or kissing?” Kit asked. “Both you, knucklehead.” Jade answered as she turned her head to smile at Kit, she was met by a warm smile from her. “It seems like you’ve done that before. Have you been keeping more than one secret from me?” Jade asked. “No.” Kit answered confidently. “You are my first, well aside from myself with you in mind. Speaking of which, did you also do that?” “Touch myself to the thought of you? Many, many times. And of course, you’re my first, too.” Jade answered. Kit leaned in and Jade met her in the middle. She could taste herself on the other girl's lips. Soon she hopes to know what Kit tastes like. “Go again?” Kit asked. “Not yet, you really gave it to me good.” Jade replied. Kit smiled and looked away. She always wanted to make Jade feel like this. Jade, she needed to make Jade hers, officially. “Jade. Do you want to be my girlfriend?” Kit asked, but deep down she already knew the answer. Jade smiled and with no hesitation. “I have always been your girlfriend.” It’s true, No matter what they have always been. With the confirmation, everything feels right.

Campus lights are out, curfew is on. Headmaster Kael is scrolling through his computer looking for answers.

HELLO QUESTIES! Did you enjoy this? I hope you did. This has been one of the many many many Tanthamore fics that sit in the back of my mind. Also it's the first one I wrote.

Also is that a Ghostbusters cartoon reference? Why yes it is.

Also, a PUMPKINHEAD reference??? One of the most iconic cult classic horror movies of the 80's? Yes it is. If you haven't watched it, you should.

Also, yes Kit is a film buff. Why because I'm a film buff and it's my story and I can do whatever I want with it.
