Chapter 1: Part One

Chapter Text

Last week was one of Dylan’s worst weeks possible. His phone got turned off, his game system broke, and worst of all he got fired from his job. Oh and on top of that his girlfriend just dumped him and he had so much drama at home.

Dylan sat back and downed a whole big bag of potato chips.

“You know stress eating isn’t going to help you” said Sasha looking in the mirror at her figure.

“I need to find another job” he said.

“Yeah instead of sitting at my job all day” Sasha agreed. Dylan began to crunch away.

“Dylan. Can you not?” she asked.

“Sorry” he said.

Sasha continued to stare at herself in the mirror. She was making sure she kept her figure right.

“Why do girls do that? Stand in the mirror all the time and stare at themselves?” Dylan asked.

“Because unlike guys, we have more we have to worry about such as our appearances. We have to worry about our hair, our face, our skin, and we care about our bodies. Plus the girls and I are considering entering a fashion show in two months auditions are starting now”

“Ohhh. Well good luck!” said Dylan.

“Thank you. Dylan please” Sasha said referring to his nonstop crunching.

“I am going to take that bag from you” Sasha threatened.

“No. Can you pass me my honey buns?” Dylan pointed to the box of cakes on the table.

“Look why aren’t you with the boys?” Sasha asked.

“Cameron and Eitan are out on a double date with Cloe and Yasmin. Koby and Jade are doing God knows what. There’s too much going on at home. I’m bored so I figure I keep you company” Dylan explained.

“Oh yeah. I forgot”

Dylan and Sasha were hanging out in the girl’s office.

“I’m about to order a pizza. You want any?” Dylan asked.

“Dylan where did you get all of this money?”

“I saved up most of my allowance and all of my checks. Dyl man is good with money too. You know?” Dylan bragged.

“Okay. Anyway what are you planning on doing?”

“I put in an application at the smoothie shop and hopefully Eitan can help me get in the door. Life has been stressful man”

“Dylan. Don’t you ever call me a man again”

“You know what I meant. It’s just the way I talk. I didn’t expect to lose my job so fast”

“Well maybe you will learn your lesson to stop stealing burgers and fries. That stuff cost money”

“I know that Sasha. And you know if you didn’t have this magazine you’d do the same” he said.

“Would I? Burgers aren’t that good anymore”

“You’re only saying that because you gotta watch your figure”

“No. not only that. I can’t eat them all of the time” Sasha explained.

“Smoothie girl” Dylan teased.

“Always” Sasha said proudly. Sasha was doing her best with eating right and staying healthy. She wasn’t only doing that for a potential fashion career, it was her lifestyle and she refused to let anything stand in her way.

“You can look all over for jobs. Try the mall” Sasha suggested.

“I’ve been there. No one got back to me yet”

“Well have you at least tried calling?”

“Nope. I just let things be”

“Well unless you plan on staying in your parent’s basement forever. I’d give them a call if I were you?”

“You’re right. Can you give me a job instead?” Dylan asked.

“Me? Give you a job. I know we’re friends in all, but I’m not handing you a job for free” said Sasha.

“Please? Nothing has been working out. The first week I’ve been applying and calling like crazy and haven’t had any luck. Please!” Dylan begged.

“No Dylan. Welcome to the real world. Nothing comes easy, and you gotta stay consistent. You can’t just call jobs and then stop calling because nothing is working out. I know that’s what you been doing” said Sasha.

“Dang. You know me” he said.

“Yeah. Dylan. You’re not that slick. And you’re not gonna be sitting in my office all day munching on chips either. Pick that empty bag off my sofa” Sasha pointed to his big bag lying next to him. He grabbed it and he crumbled it up.

“I’m going home. I have a lot to do. You can’t hang with me all day” she added.

“Aww man” Dylan whined. Sasha gathered her purse and straightened up a little and prepared to leave the building.

Dylan was not trying to get up and follow her.

“Get up now” Sasha demanded.

“Yes mam” said Dylan grabbing his box of honey buns then he stopped and forgot something.

“Oh snap. I forgot I ordered the pizza”

Sasha huffed and puffed.

“Don’t worry I’ll have to go on my app and tell them to cancel it.

“Fine Dylan. You can stay here. I’m trusting you with my keys. You better not lose them” Sasha tossed them his way. He caught it.

“Yesss. Thanks!”

“When you leave you better lock the door. Don’t leave this place a mess, and when me and the girls come back here in the morning you better be gone”

“It’s like that?” Dylan asked. “Yes”

Sasha loved her friend. But at times didn’t know what she was going to do with him.

Chapter Text

The next day the girls had met up in their office to work on their magazine. They were super busy and had done like five articles that day and were tired at the end of the day. They were wrapping up for the day.

“Can you believe what Dylan asked me?” Sasha asked.

“What?” Cloe asked.

“Can I give him a job” Sasha said.

“He cannot just expect to have a free job like that” said Jade.

“I know. I said the same thing” said Sasha.

“Speaking of Dylan how is he?” Yasmin said.

“Besides the whole break up thing” she added.

“He’s been driving me crazy for days, calling me nonstop and coming to the office” said Sasha.

“Here?” Jade asked.

“Yes” Sasha answered. Sasha managed to tell them all that they talked about.

“I think Dylan may have a serious problem. He lost his job, he been through a tough break up and he is having trouble at home” said Yasmin.

“He needs to learn the hard way. That’s his fault. Well at least his job” said Sasha.

“I think Yaz is right. We should go check on him” said Cloe.

“Fine” said Sasha.

They finally all agreed and when work was over they showed up at Dylan’s house.

“What are you guys doing here?” He asked after opening the front door to the basement.

“We just wanted to be good friends and check on you” said Yasmin.

“Well thanks” he said.

“Are you gonna let us in?” Jade asked.

His house was extremely quiet that day because his parents weren’t home to argue. His brother and his sister were at work.

Different smells filled the air. It smelled like a movie theater. The girls spotted a big bowl of popcorn, three empty cans of root beer, and one empty box of pizza.

“Dyl, you gotta do better” said Sasha.

“How do you have money for all this?” said Jade.

“I have ways” Dylan said.

“So have you found another job yet?” Cloe asked.

“Once I find another job. You’ll know trust me. But for now I’ve been laying low. Going with the flow. Stressing doesn’t make things better” said Dylan.

“And over eating does?” said Sasha.

“This pizza was from yesterday Sasha” said Dylan.

“sorry”

“You can’t just sit here and waste your life away” said Cloe.

“What do you want me to do? Just call and harass them? Force them to give me a job? Beg?”

“Okay you’re right” said Yasmin.

“Yasmin” Sasha and Jade said.

“We need to not stress him out” said Yasmin.

“We’re not trying to we’re trying to help him” Jade said.

“Well instead of shaming the poor guy. We should help him somehow” said Yasmin.

The girls rolled their eyes. Then they realized Yasmin was right and agreed eventually.

“I have some cash to spare at home” said Yasmin.

“My brother has a pair of new sneakers he wants to give back at the mall. I can buy them off of him and give them to you they are cool too” said Cloe.

“Look. I appreciate it but I am not a charity case. Don’t worry about me I’ll be just fine” Dylan sat back and relaxed and popped some popcorn in his mouth.

“Anyone want pizza?” he added.

“No thank you” said Jade. Just then that’s when the doorbell rang. Yasmin answered it.

“Hello” Yasmin opened it to an old guy holding a large cup and a big bag from some burger place no one ever heard of. It smelled so good.

“Order for Dylan Thomas?” the guy said.

“Yep that’s me” Dylan jumped up quickly to grab his order.

The girls just stood there and stared at their friend. They didn’t know what gotten into him.

“Loaded fries baby” Dylan said as he placed his burger and chicken bites onto the table and grabbed his fries and smiled as if it were heaven.

“I never heard of that place before” said Yasmin.

“Yes. I downloaded this app that pays me good to try food from new upcoming businesses and review it, it’s a fun little gig that will help me out a little til I can get back on my feet” Dylan explained.

“good for you. What’s it called?” Cloe asked.

“Gobble It”

“Oh wow. Must be something new” said Jade.

“Well Dylan. Do whatever floats your boat” said Sasha.

The girls left. The next day they all met up at the smoothie shop and Eitan was on the clock.

“I don’t know what we’re going to do with Dylan” said Jade.

“I know. He can’t be okay with every thing going on in his life” said Cloe.

“We gotta stop him. Help him somehow” said Yasmin.

“You heard what he said. He’s not a charity case. He’ll figure it out” said Sasha.

Eitan’s shift was basically over. The girls had stopped him before leaving.

“Hey babe have you seen Dylan?” Yasmin asked.

“No not today. Why?”

“You know he’s been trying to get a job here. Do you think you can help him get in the door?” Yasmin asked.

“Look we all think he has a big eating problem” said Cloe.

“Literally every time we see him he’s always eating now” said Sasha.

“That’s strange” said Eitan.

“Yeah. Please help him. I think he’s still secretly bummed about his break up and he needs a job, that little gig is not going to help him towards his dreams” said Yasmin.

“Okay I’ll see what I can do. I’ll speak to my boss, I’ll see you later babe” said Eitan as they hugged and he kissed her on the forehead.

“Bye” Yasmin waved.

The girls hung out for hours and talked. They had too much going on to be too invested in Dylan’s problems. They just wished for the best for him. That’s all they could do.

For once in Dylan’s life he felt worthless. He felt like the world was on his shoulders ever since his break up and losing his job. For weeks every single job that he applied for has either never got back to him or has rejected him. He applied to the smoothie bar twice. This time he figured Eitan could help him get in.

He sat by the table patiently waiting for the hiring manager to come back with the news. He imagined he’d be working with his best friend making all of the best smoothies and shakes and making moves on the ladies.

“Your experience would make you a good fit. You know Eitan” he began.

Dylan looked behind him and Eitan was giving Dylan a thumbs up. Dylan smiled and then focused his attention back on the man.

“But stealing is an offense. I heard you’ve been clumsy as well and lost lots of focus” he said.

“Yeah sir. That’s true and I am sure I learned from my mistakes” said Dylan.

“I am sorry. But the candidate earlier is a better fit for this job. I’m so sorry Dylan we will not be moving forward” he said.

“Well thank you anyway” said Dylan.

Dylan wanted to walk away and just hold a bag over his face for a while. Who would want to date him now?

The manager left. But it was a good thing Eitan’s break was starting soon.

“I’m sorry man. I tried my best” said Eitan.

“No man. It’s not your fault. It’s my fault. These are the consequences of my actions. I shouldn’t have been stealing in the first place” said Dylan.

“You don’t want to work here anyway. The starting wage is low and it’s way too hot in the summer. You’ll get better man” Eitan patted him on his back.

“Yeah I hope” Dylan said. Eitan and Dylan decided to spend his break together they went to the mall to get some nachos and ate together. Eitan was taking Yasmin out that night and Dylan went home to sink in his despair.

The next day Dylan’s eyes had lit up when he came across an eating competition that would take place next month and he was crossing his fingers that it was legitimate. The winner would win one million dollars. He smiled at anything he could get. He felt if he entered competitions and made money on apps more often he wouldn’t need to get a real job again. He called the phone number for it hoping for a response.

Chapter Text

All went well last night, and it seemed as if the eating competition was legitimate. Dylan had his fingers crossed that he would get picked for the competition and crush it. He’s been eating all the time now, like nonstop. And it’s been a minute since he hit the gym. But he has been walking at least. In the morning he walked everywhere from the smoothie bar, to go get breakfast, to the park and to the mall.

Later during lunch time, Dylan had no idea where he wanted to go until he came across a new restaurant he never heard of before. It was an all you can eat buffet called ‘Heaven On Earth’. The smells were huge and managed to escape the restaurant, especially after anyone opened the door. It smelled so good, and it was twenty dollars for lunch. Dylan reached into his wallet to see how much money he got out today and decided to go inside.

The workers were so warm and welcoming, the place was barely packed. Dylan got out his credit card and paid and the waiter seated him. After he got settled in he got up and got some plates. This buffet had almost every thing you could think of, from fries, burgers, pizza, spaghetti, other Italian food. A salad bar, tacos, American Chinese food.

Dylan got all types of stuff down to desserts, and almost anything you could name. He knew he could crush the competition in no time. He sat there and practiced. After eating it all he was truly stuffed and decided to call his friends, but they weren’t available, he called Sasha and she was on her way.

“Hi Dylan, you don’t look very well” said Sasha.

“I’m okay, I’m just stuffed, I just ate at this cool new buffet called-“

“I know what it’s called” said Sasha.

“But have you eaten there before?” Dylan asked.

“No and I don’t plan on ever doing that” said Sasha as she came to a red light.

“Come on Sasha? It’s really good. The food is wonderful and there’s variety, you got to at least try it once, with your friends, or with me, it’ll be my treat” said Dylan.

“Are you trying to ask me out?” said Sasha.

“No. Just a friendly date and wanna see if you like the restaurant or not. That’s all” Dylan said. Dylan used to have a mini crush on Sasha, and still kind of did, but they were only just friends and were both looking forward to keeping it that way.

Dylan loved a lot of things about Sasha, her confidence, go-getter attitude, that she was a natural born leader, and he thought her sass was kind of hot although her stubbornness got on his nerves.

Finally they pulled in front of Dylan’s house.

“Well thanks Sasha” said Dylan going into his wallet and grabbed a fifty dollar bill and handed it to Sasha.

“I don’t need that Dylan” she refused it.

“No. Here take it, I called you in the middle of the day not knowing what you had going on” he said.

“No it’s okay” said Sasha.

“No. Please just take the money” said Dylan.

“Fine” said Sasha. “Thanks” she added. Finally they said their goodbyes and Sasha drove off once Dylan got to the door.

Dylan decided to take a nap with the TV on after he undressed. That’s what he loved about having no job, he could go wherever he wanted, eat and sleep as much as he wanted to. For once in a while he felt amazing not having a job. He wasn’t even worried whether the money ran out or not. Dylan felt like he was living life. He soon planned on renting a car so that he could drive people to places or drop off people’s groceries and food, and make money off of that. He valued all of his free time.

The next day Dylan went back again for lunch, and he wasn’t tired this time. He was training for this competition that he was having. After he was done, he met the girls at the smoothie bar.

“You wouldn’t believe it” he began.

“You found another job?” Jade asked.

“Nope, even better” he said.

“You have an opportunity or something?” Cloe guessed.

“No”

“That new buffet I was telling you about” said Sasha.

“Yippity Yay” Yasmin cheered with sarcasm.

“It actually sounds nice. I think I wanna go” said Cloe.

“Please, you don’t have to eat it all the time. It’s amazing, we can all go there for lunch tomorrow” said Dylan.

“Okay, fine” Sasha agreed.

“Yeah I’ll try it out” said Yasmin and Jade agreed to go as well.

“Good I’m going to call my boys” said Dylan. Dylan also told them about the eating competition that he entered and how he got an email saying they accepted him. He was ready and for once believed his situation was turning around for the better.

The next day they were all together and all didn’t seem like they were in the best moods because it was super busy and the line was long. It was a crowd.

“My perfume is wearing off, and I am getting sweaty, and I don’t like it” Cloe complained. The line was outside of the building.

“Sorry I didn’t know it would be this crowded today. I swear all the times I went it was empty” Dylan stated.

“You sure this is worth it man?” Cameron asked.

“Why would I lie?” he said.

Minutes later, that’s when they all finally got seated. They had a big table to fit all of them. Him, Koby, Cameron, Eitan, and all four of the girls.

“Let’s eat up!” Dylan cheered. They all sat down and ate and chatted it up. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the food, and even Sasha had to be careful. They sat there for hours until they got sleepy.

“I had enough” said Sasha.

“Not me” said Jade coming back with her fifth plate.

“I’m not going nowhere” said Eitan biting into his wing. Yasmin even never saw him eat like that. Eitan was basically making love to his plate.

Koby ate as if he hadn’t eaten in years. “Dyl man. You’re totally gonna crush that competition now! Why didn’t you sign me up?” he asked.

“Well you were too busy with Jade at the time, and I think auditions are closed now”

“Awww man. Maybe next year” Koby ate with his mouth full.

Cameron let out a huge burp causing everyone to either laugh or be disgusted.

“Yo we’re coming back here tomorrow” he said continuing to dip his wings into a big bowl of ranch sauce.

“I wanna ask if they do to go plates. Hey!”Dylan raised his hand to get the waiter’s attention.

“Girls we gotta get out of here. Remember we’re supposed to be watching our figure for the auditions. Yeah how are we going to fit into our beautiful dresses and walk the runway if we keep on eating like this?” said Yasmin.

“But there are plus size models now, we’ll be alright” said Cloe.

“I’m out” Sasha said pulling her chair out, she was very impressed by the food. Her and Yasmin left, and Jade and Cloe stayed with the boys.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with them, but we are both going to fit in the dresses that Jade made for us” Sasha bragged.

“I know that’s right” they slapped fives and they both got into Sasha’s car and drove off.

Heaven On Earth is all I could come up with for this fictional restaurant. It was made up to move the story and was for pure entertainment!

Chapter 4: Part Four

Chapter Text

Days went by, and Dylan was addicted as well as his friends. Him and all of the girls and other guys kept going back to that same buffet every single day. They tried dinner there days ago and they just had breakfast there.

“Oooh I’m stuffed” said Jade.

“Me too” said Cloe.

“We’ll be back for lunch!” Cloe and Jade both said. Everyone laughed.

“I can eat this all day and every day” said Cameron.

“I know. But food usually doesn’t make me this drowsy” said Eitan.

“Are you sure that this is what we should be doing every day?” Yasmin asked.

“Let’s live a little!” Sasha cheered.

“I guess you’re right!” said Yasmin.

“I’m going to go take a nap. Anyone coming back for lunch or dinner?” Dylan asked.

And they all raised their hands proudly with smiles on their faces.

The girls had catching up to do with their magazine but they were all too tired. They managed to fall asleep in their office. Later on they just forgot about it and went right back to the restaurant to eat some more. Hours later they were tired again, but were all miserably full and tired of the restaurant.

The next day, they all called each other on FaceTime.

“Is it me or is going to that restaurant getting a little tiring?” Yasmin asked.

“I agree. I think I got a stomach bug” said Jade.

“I like threw up all night” said Cloe.

“I couldn’t get any sleep” said Sasha.

“I stood on the scale and I can’t believe I gained forty pounds” said Yasmin.

“I am getting fat slowly” said Sasha.

“Me too. My belly is starting to poke out already, I look pregnant” said Cloe.

“We have to do something” said Sasha.

“Like convince the boys to stop eating there all the time” said Jade.

“Yeah Cameron asked me to go with him tomorrow, just the two of us and I am about to tell him the truth”

The girls all talked for a a while and then decided to sleep in. They haven’t went to work.

The girls had missed days of work, and all everyone could do was sit on their butts and not do anything.

“Yo. I think I’m done” said Eitan.

“Yeah. Me too man” said Cameron.

“Suit yourselves. I got an eating competition to crush” said Dylan about to go out again.

“Good luck” said Koby. And they parted ways with Dylan.

“I can’t believe he could do that” said Koby placing his hand against his stomach randomly feeling an urge to throw up. He rushed to a nearby bush and began to let it all out.

“I feel we need to help him” Eitan suggested.

“Who Koby? Cameron asked.

“No. Dylan” said Eitan.

“I lent him money. And I’m expecting to get it back as soon as he finds a job” said Cameron.

“Dang. I’m tapping out” said Koby finally coming back from the bush.

“Yeah. That restaurant is something else. I think I’m done for a while” said Cameron.

“I don’t think I’m ever gonna eat there again” said Eitan.

Koby walked home leaving Eitan and Cameron to themselves.

“How do you think the girls are doing?” Cameron asked.

“I haven’t spoke with them ever since, of course besides Yasmin, we both had enough”

“Cloe is throwing up nonstop. I think I should go check on her”

Eitan and Cameron finally parted ways. Dylan was at the restaurant again and again. He sat there for hours and began falling asleep at the table.

“Bill?” The waiter came by with his bill.

“Oh sorry” he looked at it and seen it was more than what he thought.

“I only payed for me” said Dylan.

“We’re now charging a fee for people who pay the lunch price and sit here for hours. Two hours after the meal switch”

“Awww man” Dylan sighed and then got out his credit card and paid. When he left the restaurant he was so tired he passed out on the couch when he got home.

Days went by and Dylan tried to get back into the gym. He gained some weight ever since eating out too often. But the gym kicked his butt. He thought about every thing Sasha said. He really needed to keep trying and he needed to eat better.

When he was finished at the gym he left and went to the library to do like ten applications and then stopped by the girl’s office and nobody was there. He thought maybe the girls took a day off.

He called them all and none of them answered.

“Wow it’s like that?” He said to himself.

Finally minutes later Sasha called him back.

“Hey Dylan” she said in her tired voice.

“Wassup?”

“Nothing. Just tired of this very bad stomach ache and headache. I told myself I was never going to eat there again. I’m forreal this time. And do not ask me to go back!”

“No trust me. That’s not what I called for”

“What do you want?”

“Well I’m at the office, and I see none of you are here. Did that restaurant mess you guys up that bad?” Dylan asked.

“What do you think?”

“It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have gotten you all addicted. I’m starting to feel tired of the food too. I went to the gym today and I felt completely out of shape and I feel miserably full. The competition is in three weeks. I don’t know if I can do it “

“Don’t give up. But after that. I think you should turn your life around. Seriously Dylan” said Sasha.

“I know. I know. And I will. I filled out ten applications today and I have all the numbers. I will be handling business soon”

“I’m glad to hear that” Sasha smiled.

They both hung up and Dylan decided he had an idea. He decided to clean around the building. He felt that he had put the girls through enough and that all that they were going through was his fault. He felt it was right to make it up to the girls. He was going to prove to the girls they could count on him. The girls ended up having to drop out of the competition and they were devastated.

Dylan felt awful so he asked for their spare key and began cleaning their office for free and running their errands all for no cost. Sasha and Dylan had gotten closer again and they have been going out for smoothies and they been having gym dates as well.

And this is the end of it! It’s a little rushed. This is a random idea that popped into my mind. I had fun doing it. Please enjoy!

Chapter Text

Finally weeks went by, and it was finally time for the big show down. Dylan had more than enough practice and he owed it to himself. He needed the money super bad. Everyone was fully recovered from being sick. All of Dylan’s friends were there to support him. Weeks ago he felt the weight of the world on his shoulders, but he felt like a weight was lifted off of him.

The old man hosting the competition had named all of the contestants one by one, and they all confidently took their seats.

“Dylan woot woot!” Cloe cheered.

“Let’s go man!” Koby yelled in the audience.

They were going into five rounds, and whoever ate most of the food presented to them before the clock ran out won!

“I can’t believe it. Dylan is going to kill it!” said Jade.

“Hopefully he will change after this” said Sasha.

“I believe he is. He’s been super nice and helpful lately” said Yasmin and all of the girls agreed.

They were actually filming everything. It was a live show. Dylan was not only proud to have a chance to win big money. He was proud that he was on TV.

The girls had no idea it would take hours and that they would keep cutting for commercial breaks.

Dylan had came in first place, for the first two rounds.

“Watching them is actually making me a bit hungry” said Cloe.

“Care for some carrot sticks?” Sasha reached into her purse.

“Wow thank you” said Cloe grabbing the plastic bag with fresh veggies.

“Ms. Sasha came prepared” said Jade.

“Yeah. I have an orange and a banana, and two granola bars” Sasha said.

The girls were impressed. They all weren’t interested in spending their money at the concession stands.

“Anyone else hungry? Coming once coming twice?”

“Can I have the banana?” Yasmin asked.

“I will take the granola bar” said Jade. The girls couldn’t thank her enough.

“Do you happen to have water?” Jade asked.

“Now you’re pushing it”

The host got everyone’s attention and now it was the last round. Dylan had won two rounds and then lost two rounds. He came in second place for the third round and just lost the last one.

“Now we are on our final round, we have Dylan Thomas and Brogan Johnson in the lead. They have eaten the most in the least amount of time. Let’s see how this one goes!” He announced.

The audience began cheering all over for both of them.

“Brogan I love you!” a girl screamed.

Finally the last round was harder. They were presented with lots of steaks and potatoes, broccoli and carrots this round!

“Bon Apetit!” The host smiled. Then he began the countdown. Dylan could feel himself getting sleepy and super duper tired. His stomach began to ache like it was days ago after eating at that buffet for days.

Throughout the different rounds they had to eat different things. From globs of spaghetti, to drum legs, and even spicy noodles. Dylan knew this was all he had left and still refused to give up without a fight. He also knew he needed to make a life change. And get back on track with every thing.

The timer was set to five minutes. And lots of contestants looked very tired. One buff guy looked as if he would own the show, but he began throwing up in the trash can beside him, while the timer was still going

As the clock ran low and began to ding. There were food left on the other four contestants plates and Dylan and Brogan’s plates were empty.

“Well it looks like we got a tie” said the host. For a while he spoke with other people down to the directors and the chefs and called for a break.

“I can’t wait til this is over. I’m not gonna lie” Jade sighed. Minutes later they came back.

And they had to do a tie breaker. It was Dylan against that guy named Brogan.

“Come on Dylan you got this!” Sasha cheered.

Their last plate was a plate of loaded nachos. Tons of chips were at the bottom and it was loaded with globs of ground beef, nacho beans, cheese and sour cream, and anything you would think of putting on your nachos.

He set the timer. And Dylan looked as if he was out of it.

“Come on Man!” Eitan cheered. His friends were nervous for him.

He caused all of his friends to scream constantly.

Once it was time to go. Brogan wasn’t playing any games and Dylan threw up a bit. Brogan ate like his tummy was bottomless. And Dylan’s friends were losing hope.

But Dylan remembered why he came here. He tried and tried and tried. He wouldn’t give up without a fight. Finally Brogan stopped and began to throw up in his trash can giving Dylan a shot to catch up.

Brogan ate more nachos off of his plate than Dylan. And in seconds Dylan got caught up and they were tied again. Brogan and Dylan ate the same amounts of food. The clock was down to two minutes already. And they both still looked as if they had full plates.

“Come on Come on!” Cloe yelled.

“You got this!” Sasha stood up. Dylan could not help himself. He wanted to throw up again. He tried his best to fight it. He knew if he stopped again the competition would be Brogan’s and he wasn’t going to let that happen.

Dylan thought about his friends and he was almost disgusted by all of the junk food he was eating and so badly didn’t want to ever eat nachos again. But he had more fight in him and began tearing that plate up instead. He ate like he was still at Heaven On Earth and that was what drove him to finish what he could.

Brogan couldn’t stop. He gobbled it down, but seemed like his food wasn’t running out. As soon as the timer went off they were both chewing up food and the host began speaking again.

They chewed for a while before they could get it down. Two people were handed the contestants water bottles. Once Dylan took his first sip, he threw up some more in his trash can. So did Brogan and he missed the trash can.

“We won’t air that” the host joked. They had no choice but to go to commercial break to clean it up fast.

They took like twenty minutes to come back and announce the winner.

“And we’re back from our break and it looks like we finally have a winner” he spoke into the Mike. They compared both the plates. None of them finished. They weighed both of their left overs on a scale. And Dylan had less. He beat him by a couple of pounds.

“Dylan Thomas!” the host lifted up Dylan’s hand. The crowd went wild. And his friends were happier than ever.

It took a while for them to meet Dylan after the show. They wrote him a check with his name on it.

After the show Dylan was feeling uneasy.

“See I knew you could do this!” Sasha cheered and gave Dylan a tight hug.

“Go easy” he said.

“Now you can pay me back” said Cameron.

“Right on it!” said Dylan.

“I am not overeating again” said Dylan.

Dylan wanted to go somewhere to celebrate his victory but he was better off not eating out for a while. He took a trip to the toilet instead.

He has been sick for days, and even weeks had passed. He couldn’t look at nachos or another burger again. He was done with that buffet and food competitions and finally decided to delete the Gobble It app. He finally got his big check deposited into his bank account and didn’t know what to do with it. It felt so unreal.

Life turned around for him. Jobs were calling him back setting up interviews. The girls appreciated all he did for them and offered to hire him to be their male assistant. He even gave them ideas for their next scoop.

Because of him they were going to write about bad eating habits and the lessons they learned in the past couple of weeks.

The girls were back in the office. Every thing was great.

They heard a slight knock at the door and it was Dylan.

“Hey Dylan” Sasha opened it up.

“I just want to thank you for everything” said Dylan.

“No problem Dylan. When are you ready to start work?” Sasha asked.

“Tomorrow actually”

“Sounds good” Sasha nodded.

“There’s something else I think I need to tell you”

“What is it? No more food apps or competitions right?”

“Right. But that’s not it. It’s because of you. If it all weren’t for you I wouldn’t have made it through that competition or anything. I wouldn’t have tried again, now everything is going great. I am back in the gym and I’m eating better and I want to do better all because of you. You motivate me to do better and be better. And besides your smart mouth. I am starting to like you a bit more”

Sasha was lost for words and weren’t expecting them to come from Dylan.

“What? Dylan get out!”

“I’m serious”

“Like more than friends?” Sasha asked.

“Yes!”

“Oh wow” Sasha didn’t want to admit she kind of liked him a bit too and had a mini crush on him years ago. But it left fast because of his player ways. And if Dylan was serious about turning his life around she would consider giving him a chance.

“I was thinking we can meet up at the gym on Friday, and Saturday go out. Like on a real date. No horrible restaurant with high price processed food. Just tell me what you wanna do” said Dylan.

“Okay. Okay. I’ll text you” said Sasha trying her hardest not to cheese. And that’s how it ended.
