Pokemon Vs Digimon (ROUND TWO) - DEATH BATTLE

Tagtree Thicket, Paldea

The sound of a vehicle revving up filled the former Team Star base, but the sound wasn’t coming from any regular vehicle. Juliana, the most recent Paldea Pokemon League Champion, was hunting for Pokemon to finish her Pokedex atop her partner, Koraidon. She was only missing Grafaiai line from this zone’s encounters, but the little critters were really evasive. After hunting for so long, she takes a break, setting up a tidy picnic and making a poison encounter power sandwich to get better luck next time. However, her picnic is interrupted when a red creature of about her height tries to sneak in and get a hold of the sandwich.

Juliana: Woah! Who’s that Pokemon?

Juliana pulls out her Pokedex, scanning the critter in front of her. Weird thing being that it completely freaks out, not showing anything aside from the typing, Fire Dark.

The Pokemon Trainer pulls out a Pokeball, getting Koraidon’s attention, who despite not entering his battle form yet, Is ready to pounce his enemy into submission, like a cat waiting for the moment to strike its prey. Upon seeing this, Guilmon has the reaction any other sane individual would.

Guilmon: WAHHHHHHH!! HELP ME TAKATO!!

Juliana hops on Koraidon and boosts to max speed after the scared Digimon, although catching up to it is hard between all the foliage in the Thicket.

Juliana: Don’t lose em’ Koraidon ! If they talk then they must be REALLY rare !
Guilmon finally reaches his tamer, who he had gotten to the Pokemon World with. Takato was initially confused at his Digimon’s senseless rambling, until an older kid mounted on a dragon bike hit both of them at full speed.

Juliana did an akira drift and got off Koraidon, only to narrowly dodge a Pyro Sphere from Gilmon. Arisen from the smoke, Guilmon and Takato stood their ground.

Takato: I Don’t know who you are! But you won’t get away with hurting my friend!

Guilmon roars in defiance towards Koraidon. The Paradox Pokemon’s senses pick up on this. He roars and begins glowing in an eerie way. The light momentarily blinds the Digimon Tamer and his partner.

Takato’s eyes widened in shock, Koraidon now looked much more intimidating, a giant crest of feathers filled the head of the now much bulkier and intimidating enemy. The young boy was confident on his rising suspicion, this enemy would be tough to beat.

Takato: Did it just- Digivolve?

Juliana: What? No, This is his battle form! We’ll show you what we can do? Ain’t that right, Koraidon? Use Close Combat!

Koraidon jumps from behind Juliana to just in front of Guilmon in a fraction of a second, giving the Rookie Digimon a brutal gut punch followed by a flurry of strikes from his claws. The assault ends up pushing Guilmon back Takato cringes at the sight, only to sigh in relief as Guilmon gets back on his own two feet.

Guilmon: Rock Breaker!

Guilmon’s claws shine as it closes in on Koraidon, striking him with all he’s got. Only for the Legendary Pokemon to barely finch at his attacks.

Juliana: Use Crunch!

Koraidon’s jaws open wide and deliver a nasty bite to Guilmon forcing the Digimon to retaliate with a point blank Pyro Sphere that once again fails to damage Koraidon. Becoming desperate, he channels the power of his Digital Hazard, lighting his claws on fire and attempting to strike Koraidon with them.

Juliana: Yeah! You set him up! Use counter!

Koraidon’s jaws finally let go, taking Guilmon’s attack like nothing and returning it twice as much strength, sending the poor lizard across the ground towards Takato, who immediately pulls out his Digivice and scans his blue card, tears forming in his eyes from the brutality he witnessed.

Takato: Come on Guilmon! Get up! Show them what you can do!

Guilmon’s body shines, taking in code in massive quantities, changing his size, hair growing in his head, markings covering his body, jaws getting stronger. After a bright flash, he roars at full force, now easily doubling Koraidon in height.

Growlmon: GROWLMON!

Juliana: Woah! It evolved!

Growlmon assumes a battle stance, Takato getting confident that he’ll win, that’s what matters. Winning this battle. He wipes the tears off his face and smirks.

Takato: You’re going down!

Growlmon nods and prepares to attack Koraidon with all his might.

Growlmon: Dragon Slash!

Juliana: Dragon Claw!

Koraidon runs towards Growlmon, draconic energy surging from his fingertips. The two red reptiles clash into a fierce struggle, both trying to push the other back, and both refusing to back down.

Juliana: Force him into the backfoot! Use Stomping Tantrum!

Koraidon lifts his right foot and hits the ground full force, causing the sediment around Growlmon to collapse in on itself, burying the Digimon in rubble.

Juliana: Perfect! Keep it up!

Koraidon keeps using stomping tantrum, burying the Digimon in more and more rubble, practically causing an earthquake that takes Takato off his feet.

However, Growlmon catches Koraidon off guard by bursting out of the ground below him and using Pyro Blaster on the Paradox, sending him several feet into the air.

Growlmon: DRAGON SLASH!

A devastating strike from Growlmon’s claws sends Koraidon rocketing back to the ground, the legend barely being able to land on his feet.

Juliana: Don’t let him catch you off-guard! Collision Course!

Koraidon runs full force towards Growlmon, managing to take the mighty beast into the ground, a massive explosion swallowing the dinosaur-like Digimon.

Growlmon roars in a rage and bites down hard onto Koraidon, drawing blood as he exerts more and more pressure on the reptile.

Juliana: KORAIDON! I- Use Fire Spin!

Koraidon’s body bursts into flames, a smirk is seen on the Legendary Pokemon’s face as it looks back at Growlmon. The Paradox begins spinning in a brutal fashion, teeth and flesh flying off Growlmon’s shape as the loud sound of wheels crashing against flesh is heard.

Koraidon’s still flaming shape emerges into the sky, using collision course on the stunned Digimon, the subsequent explosion momentarily blinding Takato as Koraidon returns to Juliana’s side.

Takato: GUILMON! NO!

The boy runs toward his exhausted partner and once again begins crying, his digivice glowing like a star, leaps and leaps of data entering Guilmon’s body, making him Digivolve into…

Wargrowlmon: WARGROWLMON!

Takato: We’re gonna make you pay for that!

Juliana’s eyes widen at seeing the now larger, armor-covered Wargrowlmon stare down at Koraidon with nothing but hatred.

Juliana: I-It evolved… Again?! Koraidon, end this quickly!

The girl’s Tera Orb shines, Crystals bursting from the ground as a Draconic Crown forms atop Koraidon’s head. Its eyes shining a fiery red.

Juliana: Tera Blast!

Koraidon’s mouth erupts in flames, blue and red flames shoot out of his maw at the speed of lightning… But Wargrowlmon was faster.

Wargrowlmon: Atomic… Blaster!
An uncontrolled ray of light leaves Wargrowlmon’s chest, clashing with the full power Tera Blast, the attacks seem even right until Wargrowlmon pumps more power into his attack. Sending Koraidon back for almost a mile.

Juliana: He’s slow! Run circles around him!

Koraidon returns to his ride form, boosting his way into running circles around Wargrowlmon, causing him to get confused.

Juliana: Flare Blitz!

Koraidon’s body once more bursts into flames, returning to his battle form in a sharp turn and tackling Wargrowlmon full force, sending the Digimon crashing into a mountain.

Juliana: Alright! Finish this with Tera Blas-

Wargrowlmon: MEGALO SPARK!

Wargrowlmon gets a hold of Koraidon and begins to shock him, painful bursts of electricity overwhelming the Paradox’s internal system.

Juliana: KORAIDON!!

Juliana looks around, trying to think of anything she can do and rushes Takato, trying to get his attention so he stops the carnage unfolding right in front of them.

Juliana: Call off your Pokemon! This is not how battles are supposed to go! He’s killing Koraidon!

Takato: You think attacking my friend is a game?!

Juliana: I just wanted to capture a Pokemon- Not, this!

Takato: You won’t make Guilmon a slave!

The two kids start punching and kicking each other as their argument escalates, not noticing that Koraidon finally managed to get Wargrowlmon off himself by countering his electric attack with a point blank Wild Charge. Just as Takato got ready to punch Juliana as hard as he could, a growl caught his hearing, he turns around to see a livid Koraidon, he immediately lets go of Juliana and becomes terrified.

Takato: Oh no.

Koraidon prepared a flamethrower with the intention of incinerating Takato, but before the dragon could launch his attack, Juliana got in the way, “KORAIDON, NO!” she screamed, making him move his head last minute and miss his attack. But Koraidon was having none of this; he ran past Juliana and bit down on Takato’s shirt, beginning to climb the nearby mountain.

Takato: Wha- GUILMON! HELP!

Koraidon got to the peak of the small mountain in mere seconds of climbing, getting ready to drop Takato down to his demise.

Wargrowlmon woke up upon hearing Takato’s pleas for help, rushing towards him as fast as he could like a mother trying to protect its child. Meanwhile, Juliana was already at the peak of the small mountain, trying to get Koraidon to stop his sudden aggressive behavior.

Juliana: Koraidon! No! Let him go!

Poor choice of words.

Koraidon let go of Takato, dropping him several feet towards his demise. Juliana ran, trying to catch the boy in her arms. Thankfully for the Tamer, Wargrowlmon caught him just in the nick of time, saving him from splattering all across the forest.

Takato hugged his Digimon, tears running across his cheeks.

Takato: Guilmon… You saved me!

The Digimon landed at the peak of the mountain, just as Juliana caught up to Koraidon. The two dragons stared each other down, a worried expression filling both Juliana and Takato’s faces as Wargrowlmon points a claw at his opponent.

Wargrowlmon: I’m going to feed you your own heart.

Koraidon roared in response, both dragons clashing mid air before falling off the mountain and continuing the fight in the sky, away from the children who could only look in shock as their friends tried ripping each other apart.

The Paradox’s body bursts into a red glow as he uses Outrage, striking Wargrowlmon’s chrome digizoid armor to no avail. The digimon remains silent, letting his opponent's weakness sink in before…

Wargrowlmon: HAMMER EDGE!

Claws slice into Koraidon, who shrieks in pain. Both Juliana and Takato stare in horror as blood bursts from Koraidon with every attack. Tears fill Juliana’s eyes, seeing her friend be ripped apart by the enemy. All she can do is scream.

Juliana: KORAIDON! NO!

Even while bleeding out, Koraidon decides to use Close Combat, trying to get his opponent off him, but it’s no use. The slashes keep coming, until.

Wargrowlmon: RADIATION BLADE!

Wargrowlmon’s claws shoot out his body, impaling the Dragon’s chest, the momentum of the attack rocketing him toward the ground, where he coughs up blood upon making impact. Guilmon’s final evolution glared down at the dying Dragon from up above. Koraidon tried moving, only to realize he was stuck to the ground like a paper that was clipped to another.

Juliana: KORAIDON! I’M COMING!

Juliana starts running down the small mountain, falling multiple times, but trying to make it to Koraidon as fast as possible.

Wargrowlmon: ATOMIC BLASTER.

Juliana: STOP!!!

A massive cyan light blinds Juliana before she can make it all the way down to Koraidon. An explosion follows, one so powerful it pushes back a lot of the trees in the area, leveling the point it hit into a scorched scar in the earth’s crust.

By the time Juliana opens her eyes it’s too late, she runs toward the crater, waving away the smoke while coughing, screaming Koraidon’s name and hoping to get a reaction. She finally slid toward the bottom only to find ash. Ash that was unmistakably Koraidon’s remains.

Juliana: …Koraidon… K-Koraidon…

The girl buried her head into her ash stained palms and began sobbing uncontrollably.

Wargrowlmon landed at Takato’s side, reverting to Guilmon. Guilt finally hitting him as he just lowers his head and clutches his right arm, like a toddler that broke something he shouldn’t have.

Takato carefully walked toward Juliana, trying to find a way to apologize.

Takato: Hey… I- … He’ll be fine! He just turned into data, he’ll be as good as new like all digimon are after some time!

The boy extends his arm to try and help Juliana up, only to be met by a slap, followed by a low blow to the groin, making him fall to his knees.

The girl runs away, tears escaping her face. Takato struggles to get up as his Digimon comes down to help him up, after some minutes of taking deep breaths, Takato and Guilmon leave the crater where Koraidon was incinerated.

Guilmon’s ear perked up while they walked away, hearing Juliana cry even after she went into the forest’s deepest part to mourn in peace thanks to his digital biology, although what he heard didn’t make him feel any better.

Juliana: K-Koraidon… Korai…don…

K.O!

Notes:

It hurt a lot to write Koraidon dying and Juliana's grief, like, physically hurt to do so.
