Chapter Text

Here are the new characters for this story after problems Apollo and Evva had

main characters 

Starnap

Starnap is a alien feline that has many different types of technology and gadgets. his name was self given by stardog. they are a grumpy rude and unkind because of a troubled past but he now find himself dealing with feelings he never felt around a mermaid called oceanday. Now he must slowly figure out how to become a better critter.

Oceanday

Oceanday is a kind and caring meirmaid that wants people to feel happy. He loves the sea life and his curiosity for the land and space is great. He is great with his trident but they only use it to deal with invasive species that can harm the oceans beauty’s like the coral reefs.After a incident long ago he has pyrophobia and fears fire greatly. His kindness shall change Starnaps life for the better

Major characters

Blazeday

A dog like alien he has a sunny and adventurous personality loving to explore around and making new friends. Water is harmful to his species so he drinks non water liquids. His species also glow a small amount. After multiple visits to the planet  where Starnap visits he finds himself developing feeling for a resident of the sea Seanap. Despite the difficulty of this due to the fact Seanap is a mermaid stardog in all his sunny joy and care will take on that challenge.

Seanap

The best friend of oceanday he’s a calm mermaid who enjoys watching the activities of many animals and critters. He soon finds himself in a similar  relationship as oceanday with a being made of flame stardog. While he loves stardog he’s worried for his safety due to the harmful effects water has on him

(Their relationship begins in act 2)

Minor characters alien

Shooting kickin (mix of shooting star and kickin)

A loud game loving and sometimes annoying alien bird they love getting into danger with very few fears. One of the things he does fear is a angry starnap. He also is known for causing trouble (mostly on accident)

Hoppy starhopper

A ailen bunny who is the bff of Kickin for sharing similar likes and hobby’s. She is much more braver then shooting Kickin. She has a scar on her right eye due to a accident that happened when she was very young.

Bobby astrophel.

A ailen bear with a heart that shined brighter then any star. She wants everyone to feel happy and loved. She always wanted to get Starnap to understand love so she finds his relationship with oceanday a big success for love.

Lumina bubba

A intelligent alien elephant that know a lot about technology math and intelligent behavior. He always likes tinkering with technology and is willing to fix any broken technology.

Aurora corn

A being of light that resembles a aurora she loves creating art of space stars planets and her friends. Despite being a being of light she is able to interact with objects, feel the touch of objects planet atmosphere and conditions and living beings.

Piggy

Piggy is all that this alien pig will say about her name. She is a quiet and shy critter but if she feelings comfortable around someone they will find that they like to talk a lot. The only critter she does this with is stardog

Minor character mermaids/earth critters

Kelp swimscotch

This rabbit mermaids name was given by her love of kelp forests and her amazing speed in water. She spends most of her time tending to kelp forests but does occasionally hang out with her friends.

Ruby bearhug

Rubys name was given by the fact she was the same color of the red gem while wearing small jewelry with the gems. She sees oceanday has a younger brother after all their time hanging out and is overprotective to the extreme. 

Crafty sapphire 

The life long bff of ruby bearhug her name is the same reason as ruby but with sapphires. She enjoys making statue and non paint art with many materials. Said art is ether set up as a beautiful landmark or as gifts to her friends. She hates plastic pollution the most as said plastic could ruin her art

Itamae Sashimi

This mermaid pigs name isn’t her original but she changed it when she overheard land dwellers talking about its meaning as a skilled cook. After that she changed her name and started to train herself to be one of the best cooks their are and she’s gotten amazing.

Sailing chicken 

Sailing chicken is a sailor that loves traveling the seas with their companion marine bubbaphant. Their loud and cocky attitude isn’t great for first impressions but he does care immensely for the wellbeing of the sea

Marine bubba

The companion of sailing chicken he is a marine biologist that goes with the yellow bird to gain more info about the sea and its inhabitants. He is fascinated by the mermaids and wants to learn more about their culture and biology but he knows they are as intelligent as land dwellers so he doesn’t try to anger them

these characters shall be added to the chapters over time along with new sentences and the removal of other sentences 

this won’t happen all at once but once all chapters are changed this chapter will be used for new readers 

Chapter Text

(Starnap pov)
I don’t understand, what are these feelings and why do I only feel them around oceanday.
Perhaps lumina knows ugh I hate having to ask for help.

(At luminas home)

(No pov)

Starnap had arrived at luminas home a place with a great anm of technology. They knocked on the door and a small scanner popped out and scanned Starnap before it beeped a green light and retracted . A few minutes later the door had opened and lumina was there.

“Hey there Starnap what brings you here?” Lumina said

“I have a question but I want to talk inside”

“Ok come in” Starnap made his way inside and took a seat in the living room.

“So what is your question ” lumina asked

“It is about these odd feelings I have around the dog fish”

“you mean oceanday?”

Starnap nodded while he hates having to get help from others but he needs to know what these feelings are and if that ment talking tho this technology obsessed alien so be it

“What kind of feelings” lumina asked

“It feels warm and…nice and it also makes my heart beat faster and makes my face hot.”

After explaining Starnap looked at lumina only to see him with a smug smile

“what” Starnap said in confusion wondering what was with that smug face

“I believe your in love with them” lumina said

As soon as those words  were said starnaps tails shot straight up and his face had heated up in a instant

“WHAT no that’s not possible!” Starnap said with a deep blush on his face

“Are you sure about that, think about it you talk to oceanday more then anyone else” Starnap said.

Starnap was about to answer but he started to think about it.

Their smile and eyes were as beautiful as the stars, the graceful way they swim, their voice sounds like a beautiful melody and how… cute they are.

 Starnap felt his face heat up even more in realization that he does love daydream

“Oh god I do love him”

“So do you need help confessing to them?” Lumina asked

“No i do not need your help I can do it on my own” Starnap said done with luminas presence

“Yeah sur-“ 

“SILENCE” Starnap  snapped before lumina could even finish his sentence.

As Starnap left asters house he thought how was he gonna confess to oceanday

(Time skip to the beach)

 Starnap had arrived to where he always sees oceanday and he was interally panicking.

“What if I mess up what if he doesn’t love me back what if you make a fool out of yourself” He was so lost in thought he didn’t notice he had arrived to his destination.

He snapped out of his mind and looked at the ocean the beach had. But even the beauty of the ocean is nothing compared to the merdog.

As Starnap thought about oceanday he saw the merdog leap out of the water and dive back in.

Starnap blushed hard after such a beautiful move.

“Ok just stay calm just ask them out it can’t be that hard” Starnap thought trying to focus.

As he walked to the shore oceanday leapt from the water spinning before diving back into the ocean. A much more beautiful move which made Starnap blush even harder

“Come on you are not gonna be reduced to a blushing mess from a dogfish” Starnap mentality slapped himself .

Oceanday head appeared from the water his eyes which were as beautiful as the stars locked onto Starnap . “Hey there katnap”

they said with glee and a smile on their face, their voice as pretty as the sea.

As soon as Starnap heard the merdogs voice they immediately became a blushing mess.

“Is something wrong your face is very red” oceanday asked

“I want to ask you something” Starnap said  

“Sure what is it?”

“Well I have been having these feelings that I didn’t understand at first but after talking to aster about them I realized that I… love you” oceanday now had a blue blush on their face.

“From your voice, your eyes, your kindness and how grateful you swim has made me fall in love with you. So what I want to ask you is” Starnap took a deep breath and told himself to just do it before saying

“Do you love me back?”

A silence fell over the area, both of them having a deep blush on their face.
“Sorry I probably just made this weird just forget this ever happ-“

 Starnap was cut of by oceanday kissing him. His eyes widened and his tails shot up once more however he quickly melted into the kiss

He never knew that this was how love was like but now he liked it so much.

After a minute they had separated and looked into each others eyes

“ I love you too Starnap” oceanday said softly
 Starnap face went from surprised to happy as he pulled the merdog into a hug.
“Thank you oceanday”

“Your welcome my star” oceanday said earning a low purr from the alien which they found adorable 

 Starnap never expected to develop feelings for anyone but he is glad he did 

now he wonders how this relationship will go

Chapter Text

 Shootings pov

“Thanks for playing with me seanap” I said to seanap after we had played together

“Your welcome shootin see you around” seanap said before going back under water

“Time to head back home” I said before starting to head home. But as I was I heard something down the beach and my curiosity got the better of me so I checked it out. What I found was oceanday and…. Starnap?? Sitting next to each other

“Is that Starnap?? What’s he doing with oceanday?” I said quietly as to not give any attention to myself. What I saw next was not what I was expecting as I watched oceanday KISS starnaps cheak which are him blush and smile slightly 

“they are dating?! Heh out of everyone Starnap was not the one i expected to get a lover I should tell the others” I took a quick picture before heading off

(time skip)

 Starnap pov

”see you tomorrow Starnap” oceanday said to me.

I waved goodbye before they went back under the water

it’s been a few weeks since sense my confession and It has been going well. I never thought I would ever be in love with anyone but honestly I’m glad I did it’s such a new yet beautiful experience. While I…TOLERATE the others back in space I actually love being with oceanday. But now it was time to head back to the others

Hopefully they don’t bother me much

(time skip to space)

I had finally arrived back to where my home is though I noticed something off. The others were all gathered in one spot all of them looking at shooting chicken as he was showing something. Curiosity got the better of me so I started walking over there.

as I was hoppy starhopper noticed me “hey shooting?”

”yeah?”

” starnaps right behind you”

Shooting jumped before slowing turning to me and I noticed that he had a picture which he hid

”o-oh hey Starnap when did you get here” he said obviously scared. He was always scared of me 

”a minute ago now what are you all doing here?”

”shooting showed up a picture of y-“ Bobby astrophel started saying before shooting covered her mouth 

“if you say that he’ll kill me” I could barely here him whisper 

“I heard that”

”h-heard what?” 

(god he’s stupid) 

”my hearing is superior to yours bird what are you hiding from me”

” shooting if your to much of a coward to show him then I will” hoppy said 

“hoppy not now-“ shooting started to whisper before astrophel snatched the picture from him

”here ya go Starnap and you two look lovely together”

”what the hell are you talking abouuuuuu-WHAT?! 

i felt my face turn red as i saw that the picture wishin took was of me and oceanday kissing on our date

I looked at shooting staring daggers at him as he was sweating bullets

“I GOT TO GO NOW” wishin said running off

”GET BACK HERE” i yelled quietly giving chase

 Shooting was lucky that hoppy was able to catch up to Starnap and stopped him

“LET ME GO” the alien feline screamed out his two tails trying to grab starhopper but the rabbit was able to catch them

“Calm down Starnap!”

 Starnap struggled for around half a hour before giving up

”have you calmed down now?”

”hell no I still want that damn bird dead”

”speaking of shooting where is he?” Hoppy asked 

“I think I saw him leave this planet… also you can let him go” blazeday said

”you sure?” Blaze nodded and hoppy released Starnap

”I hate that bird so much” Starnap said angrily 

“it’s just a photo-“ hoppy started saying 

“IT WAS A PRIVATE MOMENT RABBIT” Starnap cut jade off

”right a private moment between you and your new boyfriend”

”s-shut up” katnap said with a blush on his face.

”wait didn’t you say you weren’t interested in love?” Bobby said

”I-i was…wrong” katnap said which made Bobby go “awwww”

“W-why did you not tell us” picky asked

 Starnapdidn’t say anything 

“Anyways we are glad you did find someone who you love” blazeday said

”…thanks” Starnap whispered before continuing “I’m going back to them”

”already?? You just got here” hoppy  said

”and I need to calm down DONT follow me” he said before heading off back to Starnap 

”…let’s follow him” astrophel said and blaze and starhopper agreed to while the others stayed.

(time skip)

 Starnap walked to the beach and saw oceanday looking at the water

”oceanday” the alien said getting oceanday’s attention 

“Starnap? I thought you were home?”

”I was for a moment”

”why leave?”

”shooting chicken secretly took a picture of us kissing and showed to the the others”

Oceanday face had a massive blush “o-oh”

”yeah they were also annoying and I want to calm down”

”and I’m the best at doing that” oceanday said with a smile that made Starnap blush slightly 

“yes…yes you are” he sat down next to the merdog 

they sat there having small talk and watching the water move around beautifully 

“isn’t the water beautiful starnaps?”

”yes but not as beautiful as you”

Oceanday blushed “heh i always know how to make your face go blue” Starnap said

Oceanday smiled “so do I” Starnap turned to say something but was cut off by oceanday kissing them. Starnap was surprised but quickly melted into the kiss. The kiss lasted a bit longer than normal but Starnap didn’t mind not one bit. Once they separated Starnap said “see your as red as coral”

”heh I love you oceanday”

”I love you too Starnap… want another?”

”gladly” Starnap said before kissing oceanday again 

it was so peaceful and quiet just him and oceanday-

“YES!” 

suddenly they heard someone behind them. Turning around they saw 3 critters. Bobby astrophel was awwing hoppy starhopper was leaning on a tree with a smug smile and blazeday was waving shyly 

“OH COME  ON”

Chapter Text

Starnap pov

I walked through the pouring rain as I got absolutely soaked. It was supposed to be sunny on this planet but that changed quickly when I got there.

I finally got to the beach were oceanday was supposed to be and sure enough I saw him looking up and letting the water hit him. he heard me and turned around.

”Starnap your here? I thought you despised rain?”

”oh I do I absolutely do” I said annoyed “But I won’t let it stop me”

”your as stubborn as ever” oceanday said with a smile

”r-right now what did you want to do today?”

”well I wanted to go catch fish with you but I think the rain would be a problem”

”you don’t say”

 Oceanday giggled “oh I love you so much starry”

I blushed from the nickname “s-starry?

”are you not ok with that?”

”oh no no it’s fine just unexpected-“ I stopped when I heard a strange sound

”what was that?”

”you don’t know what thunder is?”

I shook my head 

“it’s the sound that lightning makes”

”lightning? What’s light-“ suddenly a flash of light appeared accompanied by a loud boom

Oceanday Jumped a little while I ended up in a nearby tree with me two tails wrapped around it

”Starnap?” Oceanday said looking for me

”u-up here” I said. Oceanday looked up at me before giggling “your jumpy”

“I am not!” I said embarrassed while climbing back down

”whatever you say…what were you saying before you ended up in a tree?”

”I was going to ask what lighting is”

”well it’s a bolt of electricity that hits the ground”

”that sounds…dangerous”

”they are but they normally hit tall things”

I was going to say something but then lightning stuck again this time hitting a nearby tree splitting it in half And setting it on fire

”good thing I didn’t stay in the tree” I said  luckily the tree was on its own so the fire didn’t spread but it did grow quite large even with the rain as it casted a large bright light

”so what do you want to do today oceand-“ i turned around only to see oceanday starring at the fire their face engulfed with fear 

“Oceanday? what’s wrong?” I said worried but he didn’t respond. I could hear him hyperventilating. I looked for a quiet place to calm him down and i decided to take oceanday to another part of the beach one more quieter 

I picked up oceanday with both of my arms and carried him away. Once we got to a quiet part of the beach I set him down.

”hey hey oceanday calm down I’m here” I tried comforting but I had no idea how too. I decided the best I could do was hug oceanday till they calmed down. After 3 minutes He hugged me back his breathing slowly relaxing

once he started breathing normally I asked “are you ok?”

”y-yeah I-I’m fine Now”

”what happened?”

”i-i have pyrophobia”

I tilted my head in confusion and daydream noticed this

”I-it’s the fear of fire”

it all made sense now the tree catching fire made oceanday panic

”why didn’t you tell me?”

”i-i was going too in a month”

I didn’t say anything I just continued comforting them

”Starnap?”

“Yes oceanday?”

”thank you for..being with me”

”your welcome…what do you want to do now?”

”I think… we should try the date tomorrow”

”yeah today didn’t go well…I’ll make it up for ya tomorrow” 

 Oceanday smiled softly

”thank you starry”

I blushed from the nickname again

”I should go now I’ll think of something to do tomorrow” I said before I started walking back

”I love you Starnap” daydream said before diving into the water

(I love you too daydream) I thought to myself as I went back home

(I will make tomorrow a lovely day for you)

No pov

Starnap was paceing around trying to think of a way to cheer up daydream after the fire incident. As he thought Bobby AstroPhil noticed him and went over to check on them

”hey there Starnap” Bobby said with a smile

katnap turned around and sighed in annoyance “what do you want bear?”

”I saw that you were paceing and I want to ask what’s on your mind”

”it’s none of your business”

”let me guess it’s with your boyfriend” Bobby said which made Starnap face turn slightly red

”y-yes it’s about oceanday”

”need dating advice?”

”I do not need your help!”

”you sure?” 

“of course I’m sure”

“well I’m still gonna help.. oceanday a mermaid right?”

”you know they are you have met them already”

”right well have you tried going swimming with them?”

”no and besides I cant breathe underwater”

”well you have 2 options to breathe underwater” 

“…I’m listening” Starnap said his interest peaked

”the first option is to get a diving sui-“

”NO” Starnap interrupted he thought the suit looked ridiculous

”alright alright. The other option is for oceanday to kiss you”

 Starnap blushed “wha- how is that supposed to help?!”

”a mermaids kiss can temporarily give the ability to breathe underwater”

”are you sure that’s true”

”yep and beside don’t you love getting kisses from ocean-“

”sh-shut up!” Starnap said blushing as red as ever

Astrophel giggled “well good luck on your date” they said before leaving 

(I can’t believe I’m doing this) Starnap thought before heading off to visit with oceanday

[time skip]

Oceanday Stared at the destroyed tree still shooken up from yesterday. He then heard footsteps from behind. They turned around to see Starnap.

”oh hey Starnap!” Oceanday said waving 

 Starnap waved back  his tails slowly moving behind him “you doing ok now oceanday”

“kinda” oceanday said more quietly while looking down

”well I have a idea to help cheer you up today”

Oceanday looked up and tilted their head “what is it?”

”I want to try and swim underwater with you”

Oceandaysmiled wide “really! That sounds great.. wait where’s your diving suit?”

”im not wearing one it will make me look ridiculous but” a blush creeped on starnaps face “i heard that a mermaids..kiss can give someone the ability to breathe underwater is that true”

Oceanday blushed as well “o-oh yeah that is true it lasts for 6 hours”

”alright then let’s do it”  Starnap said the blush growing not visible 

“alright come over here starry”

Starnap walked up to oceanday and bent down and daydream kissed him on the lips

once they separated Starnap looked into the water. He took a deep breath before jumping in. Opening his eyes he saw that the water was much clearer then he thought.

Oceanday  swam infront of him “well can you breath?”

Starnap took a deep breath and it worked. He smiled and gave a thumbs up

 Starnap giggled “you can also talk underwater too starry”

”oh wow” Starnap  said slightly surprised that kiss worked better then expected “anyways where do you want to go”

”oh I know a great place” oceanday said before holding out a hand

Starnap was confused “I can swim on my own ocean”

”but I’m much faster then you”

”fine” he grabbed Starnap hand “just don’t go to fast-“ suddenly oceanday sped off  catching Starnap off guard as he was dragged along

”AAAAAAAAH” the alien screamed out not used to these speeds

finaly oceanday stopped “we are here Starnap!”

Starnap looked and saw a beautiful coral reef filled with many colors and fish

”whoa” Starnap said in awe

”isn’t it beautiful?”

”y-yeah it is… what is this place?”

”a coral reef its is a place where you can find many fish sea plants and coral which there is a abundance of”

Starnap swam with oceanday admireing the sights. Then something swam right infront of Starnap who jumped slightly 

“Whoa! What is that” he said as he looked at the snake looking creature 

“hmm? Oh that’s a moray eel”

”what is it doing?”

“probably hunting don’t worry we are to big for it” 

Starnap sighed in relief and continued following oceanday. They then saw weird looking fish

”what’s this thing?” He said reaching his arm out 

“WAIT” oceanday pulled starnaps arm back “don’t touch that one”

”huh why?”

”that’s a lion fish they are harmful to the reef and if you touch them they will sting you”

”OH thanks for the save…so they will destroy this reef?”

”given enough time yes”

katnap did not like hearing that so he looked around spotting a long sharp rock. He picked it up and stabbed the lion fish killing it

Daydream took a moment to respond “w-well then that one won’t be a problem”

”yeah…sorry did I scare you”

”oh no me and the other mermaid kill them as well”

”good…we should continue”

”agreed” oceanday said before they and Starnap continued

after 2 hours of the both of them seeing many beautiful creatures they heard a loud sound from above.when Starnap looked up his jaw dropped. He saw a massive blue creature with fins 4 times the size of him

”w-what is that!?” He said slightly scared his tails wrapped around his leg

“It’s a blue whale we are very lucky to see one!” Oceanday said excited

“I-it’s massive”

”yeah it’s the biggest creature but don’t worry they aren’t dangerous”

”o-oh..that good”

Ocean looked over at starnap “Are you scared of it?”

”N-NO im not scared” Starnap stuttered out and oceanday wasn’t convinced 

“your not very good at lying starry” oceanday said before gesturing Starnap to continue. Starnap mumbled to himself that he wasn’t scared at all

(2 hours later/ I ran out of interesting animals to show)

Starnap and oceanday were  now swimming back to the shore

”thanks for swimming with me starry” daydream said with a smile 

“No problem ocean I loved it as wel-“ Starnap started saying before being silenced 

“Starnap?” Daydream asked worried by the sudden cut off 

 Starnap was confused for a moment before realizing 

he couldn’t breathe 

Starnap quickly pointed to his throat trying to tell oceanday that the water breathing was gone 

luckily the mermaid picked up on this “OH GRAB MY HAND”

Starnap did just that and was pulled at astounding speed to the surface. Landing on the beach Starnap took a deep breath to make sure he could breathe.

”you ok Starnap?”

”yeah I’m fine” Starnap said giving oceanday a thumbs up

“I’m so sorry I forgot about the time limit”

”it’s fine Starnap i still loved our date this time” starnap said a small smile on his face

“Thanks again for letting me show you the coral reef”

”of course oceanday I would love to do that again how about in 5 days?”

”that sound great starry-“

”starry” a voice said and oceanday and Starnap turned around “that sound good on you Starnap” the voice came from Bobby astrophel 

Starnaps face turned bright red “b-Bobby?! Why are you here?!” 

“I wanted to see how your little date was going”

 Starnap was about to say something but oceanday said “it went great”

”that’s great I’m glad you two lovebirds are having fun” 

 Starnap blushed even harder 

Bobby giggled “Starnap you look as red as that red planet” she said and Starnap buried His face in his hands 

“thanks for stopping by Bobby”

”of course oceanday now *starry*  what are you gonna do next?”

Starnap looked up “w-well the date just ended so I-I’m going back home”

”ok! See you soon starry” oceanday said waving and Starnap waved back with a small smile before walking with astrophel 

“you know” Bobby said catching the alien cats attention 

“you should really get them a ring”

”ASTROPHEL!”

Oceanday pov

”see you next time Starnap!” I said waveing goodbye to my alien bf

Today was great we had another sea date and Starnap had learned so many things with me. But he couldn’t stay with me forever so he had to go. I always felt sad when he left but I knew we would have another date soon. Until then I would hang out with my friends

i haven’t told them that i was dating Starnap yet and I probably won’t for a good while 

I dived back down into the water and started swimming to the others. Soon enough I saw them in the distance and they seemed to be talking about something

“hey there guys!” I said and they turned to me

”oceanday it’s good to see you” kelp swimscotch  said

”what are you all doing?” I asked wondering what’s happening 

“Trying to convince ruby that Starnap isn’t a problem” kelp said as sapphire continued talking to ruby

”why is my friend Starnap in this conversation?” I asked confused wondering why ruby is mad at starry 

“Well we all saw you and Starnap on one of your dates”

”h-huh?!” I said shocked

”yeah we saw you kiss him so we know your dating him”

I could feel my heart rate increase as I started breathing heavily 

“whoa relax man all of us are happy that you got a lover….well except for ruby” kelp said while looking back at ruby

i took a sigh of relief “o-oh thanks for accepting him but why does ruby not like him?”

“You know how she judges the land dwellers? Well it’s the same thing here…even though star is from space”

“RUBY! We saw how kind they were to oceanday your being paranoid” I overheard sapphire 

“Can I talk with ruby?” I asked kelp

”go ahead” kelp said as she moved to the side

I swam up to sapphire and ruby “hey hey stop fighting” I said breaking up the fight.

i looked at ruby “ruby sapphire right he has been very kind to me”

”oceanday I have seen how he talked about the land dwellers I don’t think he really thinks differently of us”

while is was true Starnap used to talk badly about land dwellers he has changed his mind after  1 month of us dating his attitude had relaxed a lot.

“That was like what a month ago? People can change ruby”

”I still don’t trust him why would you confess to him” ruby said crossing her arms

”I uh…didn’t confess to him he confessed to me”

there was a small silence before I heard everyone say

”what?”

we started swimming looking for something to eat

Oceanday and Starnap were sitting near the shoreline eating some alien food Starnap brought 

“these taste really good” oceanday said with a smile

”I’m glad you enjoy them”

after a few minutes of talking Starnap saw a red mermaid looking at him

”who’s that?” He said pointing at them

daydream turned around “oh that’s probably Ruby”

”why are they staring at us”

”well she doesn’t trust you”

”yeah but mostly because we are dating”

”she knows?”

”yeah my friends saw us our date yesterday but the rest are ok with you”

”guess I got to gain her trust”

Starnap pov

“how do you use this thing?” I said holding a item I haven’t seen before 

I heard oceanday giggle “starry that’s a fishing rod”

“A what?”

”a fishing rod is used to catch fish”

“how does this rod even catch fish”

”how about I teach you how to use it”

I nodded and oceanday grabbed the rod

”oh wait right we need bait” he said realizing that we are missing something

”What kind of bait?”

”things fish like to eat like worms”

”worms? Where are we going to find worms?”

”normily they are under the ground but they don’t live in sand but there is a bait shop over there” they pointed a finger to a nearby building 

“alright I’ll go get some be right back” I said before I started walking to the building

once I got to it I opened the door and started looking around. There were a lot of different bait Containers more then I thought 

“your here for the worms” I reminded myself. Thankfully it didn’t take long to find the worm container. It said it costs 2.00 usd

“…The hell is a usd?” 

I probably didn’t have this “usd” so I looked around to make sure no one saw me before takeing the small container and hiding it. I quickly left the store before anyone noticed.

(I really need to learn about the currency on this planet) I thought as I walked back to oceanday

”oh hey starry did you get them?”

”yep but I still have no idea what to do with them” 

“ well first thing we need to do is put a worm on the hook” he said reaching out his hand. I gave him the worm and he put it on the hook 

“alright now what?”

”now we cast” oceanday then swung the rod forward and the hook flew into the water.

He then handed me the rod “when you feel the fish bite start reeling in”

”ok I can do that…how do you even know this?”

” it’s how land dwellers catch fish and one day I watched them reel in some fish” 

I nodded and waited for the fish to bite

“Am I doing something wron-“ suddenly I felt the fish both bite and pull. Quickly I started to reel it in but it was quite strong 

“you got this starry!” Oceanday cheered 

I could see the outline of the fish get closer and closer. When it was close I tried flinging the rod upwards and that worked.

”alright! I got…it” I saw that it was the size of my hand. After all the struggle it gave me I was expecting something bigger.

”hey that’s a great catch especially for a first time!” Oceanday said with a smile on his face

”yeah your right but how is this small thing so strong?”

”fish are very fast underwater so they can pull really hard your lucky it wasn’t a big fish if it was you’d be in the water”

”well that’s good to know I’ll keep that in mind for next time”

”you want to do this again?”

”yeah I will say it’s quite rewarding…now what do we do with the fish”

”we could either cook and eat it or release it back into the water”

“Well there’s no way to cook a fish here without the use of…fire” I said remembering oceanday’s pyrophobia.

Oceandays smiled slightly faltered ”r-right let’s just release it” I nodded and grabbed the fish.

before i could throw it into the sea the fish suddenly slapped me with its tail before falling into the water

”OW” I said as ocean started laughing 

“sense when do fish fight!?” I said utterly confused 

”you ok hun?” Oceanday said in between giggles 

“yeah I’m fine…next time I’m not going to release it”

I stood there embarrassed by the fact he was defeated by a fish. I looked at oceanday who was smiling from the experience

Starnap pov

i walked out towards the beach heading over to were oceanday usually is. Oh how I did love him so much something I would never believe in the past. A beacon of joy a light they are and it warmed my heart.

they helped me enjoy the little things and made them special to me…maybe I can get over my past with them

i had arrived at the spot but..they weren’t here.

”maybe their late” i said as i sat down. When I did however i saw that there were…claw marks?

I examined them and they looked like they came from a…dog?

”what happened here?” I questioned

i looked around to try and find something that could explain this. That’s when I saw that fishing store the place I got some bait from. I remembered that their was a camera outside and it had a view of the entire beach.

I quickly headed over there to access the camera footage. When I got their I saw it was closed

”I don’t got time for this!” I said and with a strong kick I knocked the door of its hinges. It fell on the floor with a loud crash. I looked around and noticed a door with a camera logo on it

”that must be it”

I opened the door and I saw that there was a computer. I went over only to realize I have no idea how to use this planets computers. They looked alien to me

”well guess I’ll just have to do trial and error”

I inspected the pc and saw a button. Pressing it turned on a nearby screen. 

“Put in password? Just great how am I going to get-“ I started saying before seeing a sticky note on the screen that had the password.

”……ether this guy is stupid or his memory is completely awful” I said as I picked up the sticky note. I placed it down on the table next to what seemed to be a stack of sticky notes

I put in the password and the screen showed multiple apps

”alright let’s see financial reports employee profiles solitaire…there cameras”

I clicked on the camera app and I was shown the camera feed. There was only one camera and it was outside 

”can’t believe they only have 1” I said as I rewinded the footage. As I was I saw a brief glimpse of oceanday through the speedy rewind 

I immediately went back and watched the footage. It showed oceanday waiting for me but if that’s right then were was he?

I got my answer soon and it made my heart sink.

3 of this planet’s inhabitants snuck up on him and attacked. He got a few swipes in clawing one of their faces before he was knocked out. They then carried him off to god knows were.

I didn’t know what to say 

my love my light the thing that brung me a joy I never knew I had

has been kidnapped 

I felt my anger rise higher then it ever has

”those bastards are so fuckin dead now”

I needed to find them so I rewinded again to see if they left anything behind. I saw that they didn’t have any gloves which means the left fingerprints.

I quickly left the store and back to where oceanday was kidnapped.

I always carried multiple tools on me for many purposes and one of them would be able to identify anyone from blood samples voice and fingerprints. It was the first time I ever used it sense…no I need to focus

I pulled it out and activated the scanner. Immediately I found what I was looking for

No pov

Katnap stared at the building he knew poacher pollock and his men were in there with daydream. From what he could learn pillocks group was 10 members big and he could see 3 of them guarding the outside and they were not paying any attention at all

now was the time to strike 

Katnap snuck up as close as he could without being seen. Taking cover in a bush he saw another one come outside as well.

normal people would see that as a problem but Katnap didn’t. He had gathered his offensive tech one of which included a special sleeping gas ball that can knock a living organism out cold in 5 seconds.

when the time was right Katnap pulled out the sleeping gas ball and threw it and he also quickly put on a gas mask so he wouldn’t fall asleep. Once the gas dissipated the 4 individuals were fast asleep allowing Katnap to enter.

Immediately he saw two critters just ahead of him and it wouldn’t take long for them to see him. Katnap looked around and saw no one else so he pulled out his knife and darted forward 

“the hell was tha-“ with a quick slash the critter was interrupted by their throat beating slit while the second one could not react fast enough catching the knife in his eye

there was only one door in the room so cautiously Katnap peeked through the key hole.

There were 4 guards and he saw 3 cages the first 2 were empty but the last one

had daydream!

they looked horrible beaten and bruised and they were unconscious 

katnaps rage flared up even more and he threw stealth out the window. He pulled out his blaster and kicked down the door.

katnap was able to kill 3 of them before they could react. The last one however got a few shots off but he missed them all before he too was killed.

Katnap quickly ran up to daydream but the cage was locked. He was about to blast the lock but.

”YOU!”

katnap turned around spotting pollock who looked pissed.

”you have the godamn gall to come into MY base and for what?!”

”you bastards kidnapped my lover of course I would come to save them”

”fuckin great I’m dealing with a idiot what makes you think you can waltz in here and take away a very good sell?!”

”HES MY BOYFRIEND”

”I gotta do everything myself” pollock said 

Katnap aimed his blaster pollock threw a knife and knocked it out of katnaps hand

”let’s do this the old fashioned way” pollock pulled out another knife “and I’m going to enjoy selling your skin”

katnap pulled out his knife fast enough to block pillocks slash. They clashed their knife’s multiple times and pollock was getting cocky. Katnap used this to his advantage and by side stepping a attempted stab pollock was left open.

katnap drove his knife through pollocks eye but pollock kicked Katnap back. Pollocks eye was now on katnaps knife and he was pissed about it

pollock suddenly threw his knife and it went into katnaps leg. with a scream of pain katnap fell down on his knees. Even with the extreme pain katnap didn’t let himself get distracted. He looked up and saw that pollock was rushing over to grab his knife which left him open.

when pollock got close enough katnap quickly slashed at pollock and hit his stomach. The wound was deep and stretched across pollocks stomach causing his intestines to become exposed.

Katnap pulled the knife in his leg out and stabbed it and his knife through pollocks skull killing them

with pollock taken care of katnap picked up his blaster and moved back to the cage. Thanks to his leg wound it wasn’t easy but he would not let it stop him

he used his blaster to destroy the lock and open the cage. As he picked up daydream he noticed that they were severely dehydrated and need to come in contact with water fast.

with no time to spare he started carrying out of the building and started looking for any water. But because of their location it seemed like it would take too long to save daydream 

but as katnaps hope dwindled he heard the sound of thunder from above. He looked up to see rain falling upon the earth beginning as a drizzle before it poured down.

he looked back at daydream glad that he would live all he needs to do now is get back to the beach

Daydream’s eyes opened expecting to see only the iron of the cage. Instead he saw he was back in the ocean no he was back at the beach and it was the spot katnap always met him.

the need of swam up and out of the water. He saw the blue sky, the bright sun, the trees,the sand and

”k-katnap?!” 

katnap was sitting under a nearby tree and upon hearing daydream voice he looked over at the merdog

”hey there sunshine” he said his voice unusually calm

”how am i here I thought-“

”I came for you I couldn’t just leave ya now could I”

”what about the kidnappers”

”they were going to kill you-“

”and you did the same”

”…yeah”

“…Im fine with it being them… they hurt me so much”

”i-im sorry I wasn’t there when they came for you”

”it’s fine katty how could we have known after all”

”yeah your right.”

”are you ok?”

”legs injured but I’ll live”

“Oh dear”

”yeah but like I said I’ll live”

there was a small silence 

“hey katnap”

”yeah daydream?” Katnap said as he moved closer to the beach’s water  and sitting down next to daydream “got something to say?”

daydream took a deep breath before cupping katnaps face and pulling him into a kiss. Katnap was surprised but he quickly accepted the kiss

a kiss that lasted longer then normal.

daydream separated from katnap and looked him in the eyes

”thank you” he said his voice full of gratitude 

“Your welcome my love”

them held eachothers hands and stared into eachothers eyes

then suddenly 

“DAYDREAM!!!”

katnap and daydream turned around seeing the other mermaids rushing over to them

”YOUR BACK!” Barb said giving daydream a big hug “I WAS SO WORRIED”

daydream smiled “it’s good to see you too barb”

”what even happened to you?! You’ve been missing for 2 whole days!”

”I was…kidnapped by someone evil land dwellers”

bobbys rage could be felt without words 

“where are they I’ll kill them for hurting you”

”they are already delt with” katnap said which got barbs attention 

“huh?” She said confused 

“I found where they took day and killed them though not without injury” katnap said gesturing to his injured leg

”remind me not to mess with him” hoppi said in the background 

“…I guess I was wrong to not trust you” barb said

”well that’s good to hear now I probably need to get back home”

”ah well thank you for helping daydream”

katnap nodded before getting up with the help of a branch and started making his way to his way back home.

its been 3 months since daydreams kidnapping and thing have gone back to normal. With katnaps wound healed up his and daydreams dating could continue.

right now the smiling creatures are taking what Wishin calls a “beach day” and of course their favorite beach is the same one that the marine critters visit (especially daydream)

during this beach day katnap climbed out of the water

“note to self don’t try and race daydream” he said exhausted.

”i did tell you i was faster katty” daydream said popping out from the water

”yeah but this date was still fun”

”yeah it was see ya next time!”

”you too sunshine” katnap said watching as daydream returned to his friends. Katnap stood up and started walking back to the other smiling creatures 

“whoa dude you look exhausted” Wishin said noticing katnaps exhaustion 

“Ya don’t say…wait where’s Sunday?” Katnap said confused Sunday was always with everyone 

“oh he’s over there probably enjoying the view” Wishin said pointing over to a tree

”alright that’s odd I’m going to ask him what he’s doing”

Katnap walked past Wishin and over to Sunday. As katnap walked over their he turned his head to where Sunday was looking 

He was looking at napmare the cat siren and best friend of daydream. 

“hey sunday” katnap said catching sundays attention 

“o-oh hey katnap what brings you here?”

”im wondering why your over here your normally with the others”

”o-oh i just wanted to watch the sea”

”huh?”

”I saw that you were looking at napmare”

”he was just in the general view”

”Sunday do you have a crush on him?”

”I thought I was the only one who was in love with mermaid. Why haven’t you asked him out yet?”

Sunday nodded looking back at napmare. Who was with daydream.

he focused on daydream for a moment 

(he really changed katnap so much it’s crazy a few months ago he was always grumpy and didn’t want anything to do with us.) he thought before heading back to the others

It was dark outside except for the moons light which shined down across the beach and Most the the smiling creatures and marine critters had gone home at this point.

and in the night daydream watched the night sky especially the moon. The moon always remind him of katnap because his alien boyfriend’s pendint is the moon. Before they met the moon didn’t look interesting dull even but now it looked beautiful and seemed to shine brighter.

daydream looked down at the water it was his favorite activity when katnap wasn’t here. The fish swam calmly through the water sometimes leaping in the air.

as daydream watched the water he saw that a light was forming behind him.

it was the color of…fire

daydream quickly looked behind him expecting a fire but it was only Sunday.

”o-oh it’s you” daydream said as he calmed down.

”sorry did I scare you again?”

”yeah it’s just gonna need some time getting used to your glow”

daydream only recently met Sunday and while it didn’t begin well for obvious reasons thanks to katnaps company they became good friends though Sunday still has to keep his distance.

”yeah anyways I wanted to ask for your help”

daydream tilted his head “oh what do you need help with?”

“It’s with napmare”

”ook what do you need?”

”I just want to know what their favorite things are”

”ah so a gift!”

”kinda”

daydream was confused “what do you mean kinda?”

sundays face heated up “i-i want to ask them out”

“sure thing I’ll help ya out”

”really? Thank you”

”of course now one of his favorite things are bracelets so if you make him one he will probably say yes”

“your welcome I wish you good luck” daydream said and Sunday began walking home.

Sunday looked across the sea his eyes searching of the catfish. In his hands was the bracelet for napmare colored red and purple. Sunday hoped it was good enough for his first time making one.

he was starting to getting worried that napmare wouldn’t show up but thankfully he saw the catfish pop his head out of the water.

”napmare!”

napmare turned his head to look at Sunday 

“oh! Hey Sunday need something?”

Sunday nodded gestureing napmare over.

“I wanted to both give you something and ask you something important” he said his face having a small red tint to it.

”oh?”

Sunday handed napmare the bracelet which made the felines eyes widen with joy

”oh! It looks so beautiful thank you so much!” He said as he put the bracelet on his arm

”I’m glad you liked it” Sunday said his face blushing a little more

”now you said you had something to ask me right? What is it”

Sunday took a deep breath 

“I-i wanted to ask you if you would…go on a date with me”

”a-a date?!”

”yeah”

”yes I would love that”

”r-really?!” Sunday said his tail beginning to wag

”thank you when do you want to do it?”

”tomorrow after all it should have a lovely view”

napmare nodded before gesturing Sunday to lean closer.

when Sunday did napmare wrapped his arms around him and kissed him. Sunday was surprised but he quickly accepted the kiss.

once they separated Sunday took a moment to process what happened 

“t-that was so good

”so when’s your first date?”

“tomorrow I’ll see you then”

”y-yeah I’ll see you too” Sunday said before napmare dove underwater.

He placed his hand over his lips (that felt..beautiful ) Sunday thought before heading back home

”are you absolutely sure it won’t slap me in the face” katnap said as he held a fish he caught

”if you hold it tight enough” daydream said who looked like he was about to burst out laughing at katnaps goofy behavior 

“ooook” katnap said slowly putting the fish back into the water. Thankfully for katnap it just swam away

”ok it’s gone” 

“see it’s not so hard”

” i am not going to be defeated by a fish again” katnap said earning a small giggle from daydream 

something then caught daydream eye and he look over to the other side of the beach

”what? What do you see”

daydream smiled “look for yourself” 

katnap did just that and he saw napmare and Sunday together 

“did he confess?”

daydream nodded “I do believe so”

As they watched napmare gave Sunday a kiss

”yep definitely confessed” daydream said

He looked back at the 2 new lovers

and He felt happy for daydream

Katnap pov

I was walking down the sidewalk that led to the beach where daydream is for our dates. Normally I just focused on getting there as fast as possible but I decided today to look around and admire the surroundings. As I did I saw a building I didn’t notice before and it had a sign saying “Elegant Table”.

I was confused so I made note to ask daydream what he knows about it. After passing the weird building it only took a few minutes to reach the beach.

when I got there I saw daydream once again watching the sea and its fish. Oh how  he was so beautiful in the sunlight I will always love him with my heart and soul.

”hey sunshine!” I said catching his attention 

“katty! I’m so happy your here”

”it’s good to see you too”

”so what do you want to do?”

”well I actually have a question”

”oh?” Daydream said tilting his head

”on my way here I decided to look around and I saw this building with a sign that said elegant table”

”oh your talking about the nearby restaurant”

”resta-what?” 

“really how long have you been visiting this planet?”

”a-a couple months”

”you should know about these things by now anyways a restaurant is a place to get food”

”so a store?”

”no you go in place a order for the food you want then people cook and prepare your food then bring it to your table and once your done you pay for the food”

”oh that sound pretty good!” I said both surprised and intrigued by this information 

“yeah I heard that restaurants are a good place to have dates you want to have one there?”

”it does sound nice but it’s on land you can’t reach it”

”day you have a fish tail for legs”

daydream smiled softly “just watch”

he dove back under the water. When I went over to see what he was doing I saw a small blue glow emanating from the water.  I then saw daydream pop his head out from the water 

“Sooo what changed? You still look the same”

daydream started coming out of the sea and that’s when my jaw dropped 

daydream now had legs

”see I can get to the restaurant”

”wait wait wait if you could do that why only now?” I asked confused 

“well I can use my tail more efficiently then these legs and it’s still hard walking sometimes and if I walk to far from water I’ll become dehydrated”

”I-fair enough. so you sure you want to go?”

”yeah it will be a first time for the both of us I only heard about restaurants from one of my land dweller friends after all”

”alright then let’s head out” I said gesturing daydream to follow 

as we walked I heard a “owch” along with a thud. I looked back to see daydream has faceplanted onto the ground 

“Oh god are you ok?!” I said worried for him 

“y-yeah I’m fine katty just getting used to the legs again” 

“you need some help?”

”no I want to do this myself”

”alright” I said as daydream got back up and we continued. 

eventually we arrived at elegant table. I wondered how good earth food was I never had any I only ate food I brought from home after all.

as we entered we were greeted by a mouse critter.

”hello there would you like to take a seat?”

“Yeah that sounds great” I said hopefully I said the right thing

”alright follow me” they said and we started to follow them. As we did I saw that there were others around too.

there were a orange dog and a white cat..dog? With them. Then there were a pink frog and a blue dragon then I saw a orange cat with a hand for a tail with a blue sad looking dog and the last one I saw was a purple cat wearing a Walmart hat.

“Here is your seat” the mouse said and we took our seats 

“now what would you like to order?”

I tilted my head in confusion luckily daydream helped me out

”sorry our first time being in a restaurant we don’t know what you mean”

”really?” They said confused 

“yeah” I said

”why would that be the case?”

I thought if I should be blunt after all mermaids were we’ll known around this part of the world 

(Ah screw it)

”it’s because he’s a mermaid and I’m a alien”

”ah i see well the order process is simple just look at these menus and say what good you want”

(That was surprisingly easy ether they heard about me or my friends or there are other species other then this planet’s inhabitants) I thought as I opened the menu.

i was surprised by the large amount of options 

“god that’s a lot ummmm I’ll have hmm..stake with fry’s…whatever those are and..a cup of this Pepsi” I said and the mouse wrote it down  

“I’ll have salmon with water” daydream said

”alright I’ll let the cooks know” the mouse said before walking away

”so now we just wait?” I asked and daydream nodded 

and so we waited and I decided to look around again. This time I saw a cosmic lookin cat with a which’s hat. A blue wolf with winter clothes. A purple deer with leaves on their antlers and lastly a cat who looked like candy corn was with a dog who looked like what this planet calls a sundae.

(What a odd population) 

after what I think was 10 minutes I saw the mouse with our drinks

”here’s your drinks your food should be ready soon”

Me and daydream have a quick thanks before turning our attention to our drinks 

“Why is there ice in the water?” I heard daydream ask

”I think it’s to make the drink cold” I said.

Daydream took a drink “yeah it’s cold but still good what about your drink?”

I looked at my my drink. This Pepsi as they call it was black colored with more ice inside. I took a deep breath before drinking some of it.

it was surprisingly very good it had this weird taste to it but that helped with it 

“wow! This is really good” I said before drinking more

I saw that daydream was smiling probably because of the fact I was happy 

he always does that

the Pepsi was so good I didn’t realize I had finished it.

”aww” I said once I did realize I was out

”it’s ok katty we can get more next time” 

me and daydream made some small talk as we waited for our food. After 10 more minutes I saw the mouse again 

“here’s your food we hope you enjoy your stay”

“Thanks” we both said but before the mouse left she seemed to notice something 

“do you need a refill?”

”you can get refills?”

”yeah the first 3 refills are free after that each refill is 1 dollar with the exception for water which has no limit”

My eyes widened “really?! In that case yeah I would like one” 

the mouse nodded and took my cup and walked off

me and daydream looked at our food which looked odd

“Is it just me or does it look more brown then normal” I asked

”yeah maybe they cooked it even better then us”

”well i like the sound of that…it also smells great”

“Well let’s see how good it is” 

I nodded before taking a bite.

it was the most beautiful thing I had ever had eaten. The flavor was so amazing it so so much better than anything made back home. Before I even realized I had scarfed down the entire stake and daydream noticed 

“I’m guessing you loved it”

”yes! It was better than anything I ever had! This planet has amazing food!” I said my voice full of joy.

“Yeah this fish is amazing as well” daydream said before continuing to eat.

i also began eating my fry’s and they were also great.it had a taste I never knew existed but it was so beautiful 

“well i see you two enjoyed your food” I turned to see the mouse had returned with my refill

”yeah it was great”

”well I’ll go get the tab soon till then enjoy your refill” they said handing me the Pepsi

“Alright here’s the tab” the mouse said handing it over to me

“10 dollars…Is that these green things?” I said pulling out some green paper I got from a friend of daydream 

“yes and that’s enough we hope you have a pleasant day”

me and daydream gave our thanks before leaving 

“well should go there again some day” I said 

“yeah but you need to start getting dollars don’t want to get in trouble”

”I’m still trying to figure that out sunshine”

”yeah anyways thanks for taking me there”

”of course daydream” I said before kissing them on the cheek

Katnap pov

”do we have to do this?” I asked wishin who wanted to look at some of his old recordings of me and the others

”yes come on katnap” wishin said

”fine” I said giving in and I sat down next to the others

”alright first recording”

this one took place 4 months ago where wishin and jade were playing. It was nothing special so I had nothing to say and we moved on to the next recording 

this one took place 1 months ago and it was when he tried making cookies with baking bat. As one would expect from wishin it ended in disaster for he almost burnt baking bat’s kitchen 

“after that I’m surprised you two started dating” jade said to which wishin gave a quick “shut up” before continuing to the next recording 

this one was showing one of many times Sunday gathers all of us to go on a adventure through space.

That’s when I started to pay attention 

I was in this recording and I…was not happy by how I was back then. I never really paid much attention back then and with most of my attention being with daydream I forgot most of what I was like back then. I thought the others were overreacting with how much I changed but now.

i see it.

i was incredibly rude always complaining and would snap back at the others often. 

the recording ended when we started to begin the adventure so we went to the next one.

i was even worse in this one.

it was wishin recording a debate on who won on a recent game(don’t ask why he started recording).

half said jade wind while the other half said wishin won. 

jade called me over to be a tiebreaker but as soon as she said that i immediately snapped back saying I didn’t care about their stupid game.

jade then said “right forget your lazy” out of annoyance.

my response was to throw a punch at jade but Sunday who back then was always trying to make me more happy around the others saw this before it even happened and stopped me.

I didn’t want to see anymore of that recording so I looked away till I heard it stop and a new recording began to play.

luckily the rest didn’t involve me so they were all happy moments 

they were so much happier when I wasn’t around 

why did they keep inviting me to events.

I decided to ignore that question for now and watched the rest of the recordings. It mostly involved the others having fun and in each one they are having fun in I’m ether not there or so far in the background I almost didn’t notice.

when the recordings were all watched wishin spoke up 

“so how was that?”

The others commented on their nostalgia most good with only a few bad

i decided not to say anything 

“now that that’s done you up for a game wishin?” I heard Jade said as she stood up 

“absolutely I just need to do something first”

”alright just don’t  take too long alright”

after that we left wishing house the others went over to where Jade and wishin play and I went somewhere else.

after a minute of walking i arrived at  a place on this planet that had the best space view. It was relaxing for me and I came here to relax when I’m not able to go to daydream. Today was one of those days so I sat down and started to watch the stars

i watched as starts shined comets flying and distinct planets. I thought I was alone but

”hey katnap”

I turned around to see wishin 

(why is he here? Didn’t he have something to do)

”why are you here?”

”well when we were watching the recording I noticed that you looked…sad and I just wanted to make sure your ok” 

Katnap didn’t respond only slightly looking down

“was it one of the recordings”

“Yes”

”it’s the one where you tried to punch Jade wasn’t it”

katnap nodded

”I..didn’t like who I was before”

”guilt..I know that feeling”

”you do?”

”yeah I once severally injured Jade during one of your games”

”right…I do remember that”

there was a small silence before katnap spoke

”why did you keep inviting me?”

”huh?” Kickin said caught off guard by the sentence 

“why did you and the others keep inviting me to your activities even after all I did”

”It was all Sunday he always insisted you’d join us and when Jade asked him why he keeps trying he said he knew there was some form of good in you. And he was right you’ve been so much kinder now thanks to daydream.”

”of course Sunday would do that… he was always the best always doing the best for everyone.”

”yeah he’s a great friend but don’t think you’ve done nothing to help you did help Sunday get napmare after all”

Katnap thought he did help daydream get his lover 

maybe just maybe the path to fix his relationship with the others isn’t gone after all

”well I think I’ve done my part I got a game to play hope I helped katnap”

”wait” 

wishin stoped and looked at katnap

”can…can I join?”

wishin was pleasantly surprised at the fact katnap wanted to play a game with the others

”of course katnap you can join anytime”

”t-thank you”

”your welcome now come on jades probably getting impatient”

katnap smiled as he followed wishin

Oh how daydream changed him and allowed him to truly be happy

Katnap pov

as I entered the beach I saw a lot of the planets residence was visiting it. I wondered how I would have my date with daydream but in the distance I saw napmare and Sunday. 

I smiled at the fact they were happy and began looking for daydream. Soon enough I found him and I walked over to him

”sunshine!” I said catching his attention 

“katty! You’re here!” He said with a big smile on his face 

I gave him a big hug like I always do when our dates begin 

“so what do you want to do today?”

”how about some more fishing it’s the best thing I can think of with all these people around”

”yeah it’s a busy day here lucky I always carry the fishing gear” I said before pulling out my fishing rod.

”alright let’s get fishing!”

I smiled before grabbing the bait can only to see it was empty 

“Oh no I’m out of bait I’ll go get more I’ll be back as soon as I can”

”ok I’ll be here waiting” 

I quickly ran to the store next to the beach and went inside. Looking around I found some bait and grabbed it before heading to the..checkout? I think that’s what it’s called 

after a minute I payed for the bait and began to walk back to daydream. 

when I saw him though I saw 2 other female critters right next to him and he seemed uncomfortable 

with my superior hearing I heard what the 2 said

”you sure you don’t want to go out with us cutie?”

”n-no I’m already with someone” daydream said trying to be polite

”you don’t have to be with her I’m sure we are much better” that made me mad but it only got worse 

“i-it’s a he” 

“excuse me” they now sounded disgusted 

“I-I’m dating a he miss”

”ugh never mind why would I ever care about a gay loser” they said while the other one laughed 

that was enough 

I finally was able to get over to them and before they left I stopped them

”who are yo-“ before the bitch could finish I punched them in the face hard enough to give them a nose bleed

”that’s for insulting my lover” I said before walking over to daydream. The 2 critters didn’t stay running off 

“hey you ok sunshine?” I said

”y-yeah I think”

”I’m sorry for taking so long I didn’t k-“

”you don’t have to be sorry katty and thank you for defending me”

”of course hopefully we don’t see them again” I said looking back to see if they were back. Instead I saw some of the critters looking at me smiling one even gave a thumbs up

i guess they are on my side

”I don’t think they will be back now did you get that bait I’m sure some fishing will lighten the mood”

”oh yeah I got it and this time I won’t let the fish win”

”you still embarrassed by that first fish?”

”of course I am!” I said a blush appearing on my face while daydream laughed

he was the most beautiful ray of light I have seen and I won’t let anyone darken him

katnap sat on his bed annoyed by the trouble he was having. He wanted to get something to make a very special gift to daydream but he hasn’t found one that he thought was good enough. 

in a fit of rage he slammed his fist on his bed 

“this is so much harder then I thought!” He exclaimed out loud 

suddenly he got a knock on his door. He stood up walked downstairs and to his door and opened it which revealed Bobby Morningstar 

“oh hey Bobby what do you need?”

”well I heard you were having trouble with something”

katnap tilted his head in confusion he hadn’t told anyone he was having trouble 

“and by heard I mean I could hear you hitting your wall”

ah that makes more sense 

“yeah I’m just trying to think of a good gift for-“

”daydream?”

“Yeah daydream” katnap said a blush appeared on his face

”is it what I th-“

”yes it is..look can you please just tell me why your here”

”fine I wanted to help you out”

”ok?”

bobby leaned in and whispered something to katnap

”ok I can get the first one but I want the gift to be a surprise and because I need daydreams help with going underwater I don’t think I can get-“

”diving suit” Bobby said

”oh ho ho hell no I am not putting…augh fine but tell no one that I did”

”great I wish you luck katnap” 

bobby waved goodbye before leaving 

“alright let’s just get this over with” katnap said before heading on his way

(time skip)

”god this thing is so uncomfortable” katnap complained as he wore a diving suit near the beach. He was also annoyed how much it costed it’s not easy getting these “dollars” 

but if he wanted this to end he would have to get a move on so after a few seconds he jumped into the water. It was colder then expected probably because it was dark outside.

katnap really didn’t want daydream to see him like this so he moved as quickly as he could.

he knew where the coral reef that he and daydream go to on sea dates and he knew that was a good place to start.

after around 30 minutes he arrived at the reef and began to look around. He quickly learned to not reach inside of holes in the when a crab he didn’t know was there got threatened and pinched katnaps finger.

(OW MOTHER-AUGH) katnap screamed in his mind as he quietly got the crab off of him.

after that he quickly got back to his objective remembering that what he is looking for can be found in a…

…

(what was that thing called again?) katnap thought. (Klam? calm? Something around that)

lucky he didn’t forget what it looked like so he continued his search

and it didn’t go well

it seemed like the entire sea life had beef with him. First he gets tangled in seaweed then a octopus sprayed ink on him and finally he got too close to a mantis shrimp which got him decked in the face.

(I wish me and daydream encountered that damn punching creature. I’m sure daydream knew what the hell that was) he thought as he rubbed his head still feeling the impact.

he turned a corner only to find what he was looking for

(Right! It was called a clam!) katnap finally remembered the name of his objective. From what Bobby told him he needed to open the clam.

he remembered that daydream once told him that clams could slam shut when opened so he knew he had to love quickly 

katnap placed his hands on the clam and forced it open. Inside the clam was a beautiful pearl that shined as bright as the sunlight.

katnap marveled at its beauty he knew daydream would love this and with a grab he had the pearl in his hands. As he began to move away and back to the beach the clam behind him slammed shut

(thank god my hand wasn’t in there) katnap thought before continuing back up to the beach 

when he got back to the surface he immediately took off the diving suit 

“good lord that thing was uncomfortable but I have this pearl and it is perfect just what I need”

katnap had the first part for his gift now on to the next

No pov

katnap walked through the icey planet he arrived at in search of the second part of his gift to daydream. It was a frozen planet that snowed constantly and katnap did not like it at all

”I really wished I brought more warmth because this place is freezing! How can a planet be this cold?!” He said frustrated 

He thought he brought enough coats gloves and boots but even with 4 pairs of each he was still feeling the cold.

after a few more minutes of walking he saw a ice cave despite his vision being blurry from the snow

”aw god finally” he said in relief as he entered the cave. The cave was still cold but much less than the outside. Katnap wanders down the frozen cave looking around for the item he seeks.

The cave had many twists and turns so katnap had to mark his path by carving arrows back to the cave so he wouldn’t get lost.

after turning one of  corners he found himself in a large open area of the cave. In the middle of the room was a large pillar and on the top of the pillar  was the item he came all this way for

a bright shining diamond 

“oh it’s more beautiful then I thought daydream is gonna love this…now how am I gonna get up there”

katnaps first attempt to climb the pillar did not go well as he soon slipped and tumbled down. This repeated 4 more times and katnap earned a fair amount of bruises.

on his fifth attempt he was finally able to get to the top of the pillar.

”FUCKIN FINALLY!” Katnap said out of frustration and boy he was glad daydream was not around to hear that.

He got to his feet and walked over to the diamond admiring its beauty before he grabbed it and carefully put it in his pocket 

now he can finally create his gift to daydream
