Chapter 1: Embers in the Dark

Summary:

For Day 1 : Favorite Moments

Chapter Text

. . .

In a hall of glittering light,
Where shadows waltz with fire bright,
A silver blade and a flame untamed
Met in a dance that could not be named.

Nesta, fierce with eyes of steel,
With every step, her power real.
Her dress, a river of starlit gray,
Flowed like a moonlit stream in sway.

Eris, a prince with a heart of flame,
With his fiery hair and a whispered name.
He moved with grace, a wolf unbound,
Each step a secret, each word profound.

Around the room, they turned and spun,
Two forces locked, neither won.
Her eyes were ice, his touch was fire,
A dangerous dance of dark desire.

Their bodies moved in perfect time,
To a rhythm that was theirs, a secret rhyme.
The world around them seemed to fade,
As they danced in this dangerous masquerade.

A spin, a dip, her breath caught tight,
A whispered challenge in the night.
"You think you know this dance of flame?"
He murmured softly, without shame.

She met his gaze, unyielding, strong,
Her spirit fierce, her will lifelong.
"I've danced with darkness, faced my fears,
Your fire’s nothing to my tears."

Around and around, the tension grew,
A spark ignited between the two.
Not of love, nor hate, but something deep,
A promise made, a secret to keep.

For in this dance, they found their way,
In the clash of night and break of day.
A truce of sorts, a fragile thread,
Between the living and the dead.

And when the music finally died,
They parted ways, but side by side.
For though the dance had reached its end,
The flame of auburn and silver would never bend.

Chapter 2: Mirrors in the Flame

Summary:

For Day 2 : Mirrors

Chapter Text

. . .

In the dance of fire and ice,
Two souls meet, sharp and precise.
Nesta, cold with an inner storm,
Eris, the blaze in a restless form.

Both forged in shadows, both shaped by pain,
Two hearts that burn, two minds that strain.
One with a fury that shields her soul,
The other with secrets that never grow old.

Nesta’s edges, sharp and keen,
Hide a depth that’s rarely seen.
A warrior's spirit, scarred and tough,
But beneath, a heart that’s had enough.

Eris, a prince with a gaze of fire,
A face unreadable, a hidden pyre.
Cunning and ruthless, yet beneath the mask,
Is a soul that bears a different task.

They see in each other a reflection clear,
Not of weakness, but of strength austere.
For each knows the weight of expectation's chains,
The sting of betrayal, the echo of pains.

Nesta hides behind walls of ice so high,
Eris wears his flame like a defiant cry.
But both know the dance of battle and breath,
And the way it feels to stand on the edge of death.

In each other's gaze, a kindred spark,
A recognition in the deep, the dark.
For they are mirrors of the same fierce fire,
Driven by rage, yet pulled by desire.

A brother’s betrayal, a father’s scorn,
Two souls who’ve felt the weight of thorns.
And in that shared understanding, they find,
A silent bond that is perfectly aligned.

Mirrors they are, in fire and in fight,
Two solitary stars in the cold, dark night.
Nesta and Eris, flames intertwined,
Reflecting the shadows they each leave behind.

Chapter 3: HeadCanons

Summary:

For Day 3 : Headcanons

Chapter Text

Headcanons for Neris Based on the Moodboard -

  • Nesta learns to knit to manage her stress. The familiar motion of the needles, coupled with the surge of happiness she feels when she can create something that brings joy to others, is healing for her soul. She regularly gifts Eris with handmade scarves, blankets, and even a dog plushie resembling his shadowhound, Cinnamon.

  • In turn, Eris learns to cook, experimenting with new recipes he has learned from his mother, crafting mouthwatering delicacies for Nesta. It delights him to know that his efforts can bring her joy.

  • They often take leisurely walks near Eris's secluded cabin in the Autumn woods. Sometimes, they engage in deep, meaningful conversations that last for hours; other times, they walk in companionable silence, savoring the beauty of nature around them. These moments calm them both. They also indulge in playful games like "I Spy," behaving like children eager to reclaim a piece of the carefree youth they never experienced, determined to make the most of their time together now.

  • Nesta finds solace in the library at Autumn Manor, with its wealth of poetry, intriguing subjects, and sweet romances. At night, Eris reads poetry to her, his soothing baritone lulling Nesta into a peaceful slumber. As she rests her head on his chest, a look of pure bliss graces her face. Eris, observing her serene expression, smiles at these precious moments, kisses her head, and pulls her closer, cherishing the quiet intimacy they share.

Chapter 4: Scorched Desire

Summary:

For Day 4 : NSFW

Chapter Text

. . .

In the dim-lit haze of a secret place,
Where shadows whisper and pulses race,
Nesta stands with a guarded fire,
Eris, beside her, sparks with desire.

His eyes are embers, burning deep,
A promise of secrets they both must keep.
Her breath catches, her heartbeat wild,
This dangerous dance between defiance and guile.

A touch that sears, a gaze that binds,
Two kindred souls with tangled minds.
He steps closer, a breath away,
His words a tease, a game they play.

“Do you fear the flame?” he asks, voice low,
A challenge, a spark, a daring glow.
Nesta’s lips curl, a taunting smile,
“I’ve faced worse than fire, walked hotter miles.”

Their bodies close, the heat intense,
A spark ignites with electric suspense.
Fingers brush, a teasing caress,
A dance of power, a game of chess.

Eris leans in, his breath on her skin,
A whispered promise of the heat within.
Nesta’s pulse quickens, her defenses thin,
But she holds her ground, a warrior’s grin.

“You think you know heat?” he murmurs, sly,
A glint of mischief in his eye.
Nesta's laugh is low, a challenge in disguise,
“Show me, then, let’s see who cries.”

Their lips meet, a clash of fire,
A battle of wills, a burst of desire.
In that scorching kiss, the world fades away,
Leaving just heat, in a dangerous play.

Hands roam free, in a passionate claim,
Each touch a stroke of wild flame.
Nesta’s fingers in his fiery hair,
Eris’s grip, bold and bare.

A moan, a sigh, a desperate plea,
Lost in the rhythm of fiery ecstasy.
In that moment, there’s nothing but them,
Two flames burning at the world’s end.

Heat rising, a fevered pace,
Skin to skin in a heated embrace.
A push, a pull, a burning chase,
A forbidden desire neither can erase.

When they part, both gasping for air,
A satisfied smirk is the answer to a dare.
Nesta and Eris, still alight with heat,
Two burning forces, wild and complete.

For in that moment, they both knew,
A hunger was sparked, a flame that grew.
A secret desire, a passionate test,
In the heat of the moment, neither could rest.

Chapter Text

. . .

The autumn sun hung low in the sky, casting a soft golden hue over the rolling fields surrounding the Vanserra estate. Nesta found herself wandering aimlessly through the dewy grass, her thoughts a whirlwind of emotions. The events of the previous day played over and over in her mind—Eris Vanserra, the man she had always thought to be cruel and aloof, had gone to great lengths to help her sister and her eloped husband. He had found them, offered her sister’s husband a respectable job, and arranged everything to ensure their safety and well-being. Nesta had been moved beyond words, feeling something stir in her heart that she had not felt in a long time.

As she walked through the field, the morning mist began to lift, revealing the path ahead. Her steps slowed as she saw a figure emerge from the fog. Her breath caught in her throat, and her heart skipped a beat. She was alone, vulnerable, but as the figure drew closer, recognition set in—it was Eris.

"Eris!" she called out, her voice betraying her surprise.

He approached her, his steps purposeful but unhurried. "What are you doing out here so early?" he asked softly.

"I could not sleep," Nesta replied, her voice tinged with an honesty that surprised even her.

"Me neither," Eris admitted, his gaze unwavering. "I have been up most of the night."

For a moment, they stood in silence, the morning air thick with unspoken words. Nesta felt the weight of her gratitude pressing on her chest, needing to be expressed. She took a deep breath, her eyes meeting his.

"Eris," she began, her voice steady, "I must thank you for your unexampled generosity to both my sister and her husband. I know what kindnesses you have done for her, and I suspect your hand in the happy resolution for her as well."

Eris seemed momentarily taken aback, his expression softening. "I am alarmed that you know of what I have been so earnest to keep silent," he confessed, his voice low. "But you must know that your happiness was one of my prime inducements."

Nesta’s heart fluttered at his words, a mix of surprise and something else—something warmer.

Eris took a step closer, his eyes searching hers. "I know you are too generous to trifle with me," he continued. "I believe you spoke with my mother last night, and it has taught me to hope as I had scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged, but one word from you will silence me forever."

Nesta stared at him, her heart racing. She could see the earnestness in his eyes, the vulnerability he rarely showed. A part of her that had been locked away for so long began to thaw.

"If, however, your feelings have changed…" Eris added, his voice trailing off, almost afraid to hear her answer.

She gazed at him, her emotions swirling in a tumultuous dance. Finally, she found her voice. "I am very happy to inform you that not only have my sentiments changed," she whispered, a tear slipping down her cheek, "but there are no other words which could give me greater pleasure."

Eris stared at her, his eyes bright with emotion. Slowly, almost reverently, he reached out and touched her face, his thumb gently wiping away her tear. Nesta closed her eyes, leaning into his touch, her heart overflowing. When their lips met, it was soft at first, tentative, as if they were both unsure if this was truly happening. But as the kiss deepened, it became passionate, a meeting of souls as much as a meeting of lips.

. . .

They sat by the fountain in the quiet of the evening, the water softly trickling in the background. The moon cast a gentle glow over them, and the stars twinkled overhead. Nesta leaned back against the cool stone, her head tilted up to the sky, feeling a sense of peace she hadn't felt in years.

Eris watched her with a soft smile, his gaze warm. "You know," he said, breaking the comfortable silence, "I’ve been thinking about what to call you when you're cross with me."

Nesta turned to him, an eyebrow raised in curiosity. "Oh? And what have you come up with?"

He chuckled softly. "Mrs. Vanserra," he said, his tone teasing.

She laughed, the sound light and free. "Only when I'm completely, perfectly, incandescently happy," she corrected, a playful smile dancing on her lips.

Eris’s eyes softened, his gaze filled with adoration. He leaned closer, his voice a mere whisper. "And how are you feeling this evening?"

Nesta looked at him, her heart swelling with a happiness so profound it brought tears to her eyes. "Completely, perfectly, incandescently happy," she murmured.

Without another word, Eris leaned in and kissed her forehead tenderly, then her hands, before finally capturing her lips in a soft, lingering kiss. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them, wrapped in each other's warmth and love.

And in that moment, under the moonlit sky, they knew they never wanted to be parted from each other again.

Chapter 6: Wanderlust of Autumn Hearts

Summary:

For Day 6 : Future

Chapter Text

. . .

With vows exchanged and hearts alight,
Nesta and Eris leave the night,
Departing from the Autumn Court,
On a journey of love and sweet rapport.

They sail across a moonlit sea,
To distant lands where they can be free,
To wander through streets of cobblestone,
Hand in hand, in a world their own.

Beneath the glow of lanterned skies,
In bustling markets, their laughter flies.
They dance through gardens bathed in gold,
As autumn’s tapestry unfolds.

Through forests where the leaves turn red,
Their steps are light, their souls are fed.
With each new hue, with every breeze,
They twirl beneath the whispering trees.

In valleys where the rivers sing,
They pause to feel the joy it brings.
Barefoot through fields, they run and leap,
Into moments that their hearts will keep.

They climb to peaks where eagles soar,
And feel the thrill of wanting more.
With every step and every breath,
They find new life beyond all death.

At twilight, in a foreign town,
With stars above and dreams unbound,
They find a square and, without a word,
Begin to dance to the night’s unheard.

Their bodies move with easy grace,
In rhythm with this sacred place.
His hand on hers, her gaze on his,
The world falls away; it’s just them who exist.

From village fairs to city nights,
They twirl and sway in soft moonlight.
No words are needed, no plans in mind,
Just the freedom of their souls entwined.

Through vineyards ripe with autumn’s wine,
They toast to life, to love, to time.
With every sip, with every taste,
They drink in moments they’ll not waste.

For in this season, warm and bright,
Their hearts find peace, their souls take flight.
Across the continent, far and wide,
Nesta and Eris, side by side.

The world is theirs, a grand expanse,
A honeymoon in every glance.
As autumn leaves change and fall,
They dance together through it all.

From dawn to dusk, through night and day,
They write their story, come what may.
Two hearts in wander, hand in hand,
In love’s sweet dance, across the land.

With every step, with every mile,
They find new reasons to laugh, to smile.
In every place, in every part,
They leave a piece of their beating hearts.

And as the seasons start to blend,
They know this dance will never end.
For love is timeless, love is free,
And they’ll keep dancing, endlessly.
