Summary:
From the first to the last, the hunger games defined Panem. Watch as Panem evolves through the years, and as it changes watch as their most brutal invention changes with it.

Hello! Thanks for reading! I'm just hoping in here to let y'all know that this fic is a working document. I am planning other hunger games fics in this AU, but I want to get the history down first and if I just did that in my notes, it would never get published. So if you notice small changes, it's just me tweaking things to align better with the stories I want to tell later down the line.

It starts like this: 24 children, marched at gunpoint into the capitol arena to stand on the red circles painted on the ground.
A pile of rusty weapons lay in the centre of the loose circle they form. Shaky cameras pan over their faces, damaged as all things are from the dark days. The static blurs the shocked expressions on the children's faces.
The gong sounds. The peacekeepers retreat. The children know what they have to do if they want to go home.
Only 1 has the guts to do it.
