I wanna give a couple of shoutouts here. First, to my adopted sister Starlight_Vixen_Emiko for introducing me to the wonders of Supernatural Academy. Second, to my wonderful girlfriend KagamiPINKAgreste for encouraging me to write a fanfic based on this show. Without further ado, let's get into the action!

Chapter 1: The Exchange

Chapter Text

IZUKO: Welcome to UA High, the prestigious school that's turned out some of the world's greatest heroes. Some of these heroes earned their stripes by studying abroad at international hero schools. This story is about how some of my friends and I studied abroad, but little did we know, the school we were being sent to was no ordinary hero school. Heck, it wasn’t even a hero school in the sense that we knew. Even so, our journey there would be no less action-packed and dramatic than what we’d experienced at UA.

The clear sky permitted the morning sun to shine on UA, giving Izuko “Deko” Midoriya and her classmates a bit of warmth on this otherwise cool early spring day. Deko always looked forward to going to class, even if there was a high chance that what was a typical day at UA could turn into a battle that Thomas Hobbes would describe as “nasty, brutish and short”. To her, it was a price to pay if it meant that 1. She got to study to become the world’s greatest hero, and 2. She got to be with her handsome boyfriend, Shoto Todoroki, son of Enji Todoroki – better known as the No. 2 hero “Endeavor”. Her and Todoroki held hands as they headed from the UA dorms to the main campus building.

“Midoriya, you seem especially enthusiastic today. Care to explain?”

Deko giggled. “First of all, call me ‘Deko’, you handsome specimen of a boy, and second of all, why shouldn’t I be enthusiastic? I’m alive, and I get to be with you!”

Todoroki chuckled and blushed. “Fair enough.”

“WHAT THE CRAP!? WHY THE CRAP ARE YOU TWO HOLDIN’ HANDS AND FLIRTIN’ WITH EACH OTHER!?”

Deko and Todoroki turned around and saw none other than Katsuki “Kacchan” Bakugo stomping up to them. Deku smiled.

“What’s wrong, Kacchan? Are you jealous that I’m holding hands with the most handsome boy in UA?”

“I’M NOT JEALOUS! WHY THE CRAP WOULD I BE JEALOUS OF SOME NERD WITH GOOFY HAIR THAT BELONGS IN THE 80S!?”

“Why are you so upset with us?” asked Todoroki. “Isn’t holding hands something that people normally do when they’re in love?”

“SHUT IT, ICYHOT! I SWEAR, ONE OF THESE DAYS, I’M GONNA…”

“BAKUGO!”

Mina Ashido smacked Kacchan in the back of the head.

“WHAT THE CRAP WAS THAT FOR, RACCOON EYES!?”

Ashido put her fists on her hips. “Seriously? You’ve been here for months and you’re still acting like an asshole? What’s wrong with you?”

“I’M NOT GONNA ANSWER THAT! YA KNOW WHY!? BECAUSE YOU’LL COME UP WITH SOME STUPID-ASS ANSWER!”

Ashido loosened her stance and smiled. “Actually, you know what’s wrong? You haven’t had a hug from a pink girl!

“Wait…WHAT THE CRAP…!?”

Kacchan attempted to bolt, but Ashido was quicker on the draw, and she managed to give him a big huggle. His face redder than beets, he tried to break free of her grasp, but she was stronger than Charles Atlas.

“LEMME GO, RACCOON EYES!”

“Not until you admit that pink girls rule!”

Kacchan growled. “I HATE THIS.”

Deko and Todoroki snickered at Kacchan’s huggle.

“Class, we mustn’t waste time with unnecessary romantic activities!”

Tenya Iida – the president of Class 1-A – had shown up.

“Sorry, Iida!” said Deko.

===

Eventually, everyone made it to class on time, and Class 1-A’s homeroom teacher Shota Aizawa – better known as the Pro Hero “Eraserhead” – showed up.

“Class, let’s be honest here: this course isn’t going to get any easier on you. In fact, owing to what you’ve already been through during your time at UA, it’s going to get a lot harder. If none of you are in peak physical, mental or emotional condition, then you can forget about succeeding here. But, I’ve gone on long enough. Knowing what I know about all of you, you’ll probably find some way to succeed. Before I let you go though, I want Midoriya, Bakugo, Todoroki, Uraraka, Asui and Tokoyami to report to All Might. Everyone else, go to your usual classes.”

===

Deko, Kacchan and Todoroki headed to All Might’s office along with Ochaco Uraraka, Tsuyu “Tsu” Asui and Fumikage Tokoyami. Almost immediately, Todoroki wondered about the purpose of their visit:

“Why would Mr. Aizawa send us to see All Might?”

Kacchan crossed his arms. “Hell if I know. Hell if I care.”

Deko scratched her cheek. “Based on past visits I’ve had to All Might, I’d say they’ve probably assigned us a secret mission.”

Tsu put her index finger up to her chin. “That makes logical sense, ribbit.”

“I wonder what kind of mission he’d want us for, though,” said Uraraka.

“Whatever it is, it must be a dangerous one,” said Tokoyami.

Deko nodded. “That makes sense, Tokoyami. All of us have really powerful Quirks, so they must need us to…oh wait, we’re here.”

Deko knocked on the door to the office of Toshinori Yagi, formerly known as the #1 Pro Hero “All Might”.

“Come in,” said All Might.

Deko and co. entered.

“What’s up, All Might?”

“Young Midoriya, I have a mission for you and your friends: recently, we’ve received an anonymous letter from a student at Supernatural Academy in Stratford, Connecticut. According to the letter, a mysterious villain has been threatening the school, so we want you six to travel there as exchange students, find out who the villain is and assist the students in defeating him. All we know about this villain is that he may be connected to the League of Villains, so be on your guard. Any questions?”

Deko raised her hand.

“Yes, Midoriya?”

“How do we know that the League of Villains is connected to this person?”

“We intercepted communications from them regarding a villain nicknamed ‘Steel Wolf’, but we don’t have any information regarding this villain. Any other questions?”

Kacchan raised his hand.

“Yes, Bakugo?”

“How the crap do we know this isn’t a trap?”

“If there’s anything my years of experience as a Pro Hero has taught me, it’s knowing who’s telling the truth and who’s lying. Any other questions?”

No one else had any questions.

“Good. Pack your school uniforms and other supplies for this trip, and may the Force be with you.”

“WHAT THE CRAP!? THAT’S NOT EVEN THE RIGHT FRANCHISE!” shouted Kacchan.

All Might smiled. “Hey, this city is named for a Star Wars location, so I thought it would be only fitting.”

Deko, Todoroki and Uraraka had a good chuckle at the whole thing. Chuckles aside, they were eagerly looking forward to making new friends on this adventure.

===

Meanwhile, at a disused warehouse in Musutafu Harbor, the League of Villains gathered, along with their leader Tomura Shigaraki, who was bathing in a mixture of seething anger and bloodstained hopefulness:

“At this very moment, I still lament the fact that that bratty Izuko Midoriya and her UA friends have gotten the upper hand on us, but at the same time, I know that our latest friend is more than powerful enough to reduce them to a pile of blood and guts.” Shigaraki bore a toothy grin and clenched his fist. “Oh, I am just tingling with satisfaction at the thought of her death!”

Himiko Toga smiled and brought her fists up to her chin. “Me too! I’ve been waiting to feast on their entrails!”

“So, what sort of show have you put on for our foes this time?” asked Atsuhiro Sako, aka “Mr. Compress”.

“Recently, I uncovered rumors of a villain calling himself ‘Steel Wolf’. I contacted my usual sources, one of whom got me in contact with him. He refused to divulge much about himself, but he agreed to ally himself with our cause. Currently, he is planning to attack a hero school known as ‘Supernatural Academy’, which is located in Stratford, Connecticut. With Kurogiri’s assistance, we too can bring another hero school to its knees!”

“I love it!” said Jin Bubaigawara, aka “Twice”. “Nah, we’re better off stayin’ home!”

“But why bother burning those guys when we could just burn UA?” asked Dabi.

Shigaraki clenched his fist. “Don’t you get it, Dabi? If they ally themselves with UA, there’s no telling how powerful the hero community will become! By destroying lesser hero schools first, UA will soon become powerless against our onslaught!”

Shuichi Iguchi – aka “Spinner” – crossed his arms. “That plan seems right out to me, but on the other hand, I can see where you’re coming from, so I’ll help out.”

Shigaraki bore a toothy grin. “Wise choice, Spinner. Now, let’s not waste any more time; victory awaits us!”

Chapter 2: Stratford Calling

Chapter Text

To get to Stratford, Connecticut, Deko, Kacchan, Todoroki, Uraraka, Tsu and Tokoyami had to take a hell of a trip: first from Shizuoka Airport to Incheon International Airport in Seoul, then to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and finally to Tweed New Haven Airport in New Haven, Connecticut. After retrieving their luggage and going through a few more security checkpoints, they saw a Black man with a goatee, who was holding a sign that said “UA”. He wore a brown suit with a black tie and black leather dress shoes. Immediately, Deko and the others came up to him.

“Excuse me, sir, but are you the guy who’s going to take us to Supernatural Academy?” asked Deko.

“Sure am! I’m Louis Mountbatten, assistant to the Headmistress!”

Deko smiled. “Nice to meet you! My name’s Izuko Midoriya. These are my friends: Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, Ochaco Uraraka, Tsuyu Asui and Fumikage Tokoyami.”

Everyone said “hi” to Louis, barring Kacchan, who gave a noncommittal “hmph” and cocked his head sideways.

“Well, it’s nice to meet all of you!” said Louis. “Let’s get you over to the academy.”

Louis led the six UA students out to a black 1973 Cadillac Series 75 limo, and after putting their luggage in the capacious trunk, they got in, and Louis drove off.

“You know, this is the first time that Supernatural Academy’s been open to the human world,” said Louis. “What brings you hero trainees out here?”

“One of our school faculty members sent us out on a mission,” said Deko. “We can’t exactly discuss it, but…”

“Nah, it’s OK! I understand if Headmistress Lebron wants to keep it hush-hush. Besides, considerin’ what we’ve been through recently, security’s been tightened up some.”

Deko raised her eyebrows. “Oh?”

“So a couple of months ago, our former Headmaster attempted to use Mrs. Lebron’s twin daughters as part of a plot to resurrect a powerful being known as the ‘Dragon King’. They managed to defeat him, but it came at a price: our former Council leader – Mrs. Lebron’s husband, I might add – was killed trying to stop the Dragon-Marked people from breaking through the magic barrier that we erected to prevent them from escaping into the human world.”

Deko and co. sat wide-eyed as they listened to Louis’ story. Despite having experienced their own trials and tribulations as part of UA, hearing a tale of a supernatural battle as this was no less awe-inspiring. In fact, they were so enraptured that they were almost unable to take in the New England scenery.

===

Eventually, the limo pulled up to the gates of Supernatural Academy. Being a magic school, a mysterious aura recognized Louis as well as his visitors, so the gates automatically opened to let them in. Louis drove the old Cadillac up to a tall tower before parking the car and getting out. As soon as Deko and co. got out, they were greeted by a Hispanic woman with her hair in a bun. She wore a black blazer over a white blouse with a black tie, a black pencil skirt and black high-heel shoes.

“Welcome back, Louis!” said the woman. “And these must be the exchange students that I was told about!”

“Yes, Headmistress.”

The headmistress put her hand over her heart. “Allow me to introduce myself: I am Lienda Lebron, Headmistress of Supernatural Academy.”

The UA Six introduced themselves.

“Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you all!”

Lienda shook hands with the UA Six, barring Kacchan, and she took notice of this:

“It’s OK to be shy, young man. I promise we are very friendly here!”

“Hey Mom, you never told us we were getting new students!”

Deko and co. looked over to see who’d come over: a pair of twin sisters. One had shorter, shaggy black hair and green eyes, and she wore a purple vest with green stripes over a white long-sleeve blouse, a moon choker, a pair of dark gray leggings and black loafers. The other twin had long, voluminous, wavy black hair with blue highlights, blue eyes, and she wore a light purple sweater with green stripes over a white long-sleeve blouse, a black tie, a dark purple skirt with white stripes, white knee-high socks and black loafers. Deko smiled when she saw the twins.

“Hey, you must be the twins that Louis told us about!”

The one with the longer hair smiled. “My name’s Jessa! This is my twin sister Mischa.”

“Hola!” Mischa waved at Deko.

“Nice to meet you both! I’m Izuko Midoriya. This is my boyfriend, Shoto Todoroki.”

“Hi there.” Todoroki smiled and waved at Mischa and Jessa.

“Whaaaaaaat!” said Mischa. “No way! Shoto, you’re such a lucky guy!”

Todoroki blushed and smiled nervously. “Oh…um…thank you, Mischa!”

Deko chuckled. “Anyways, these are my other friends: Katsuki Bakugo, Ochaco Uraraka, Tsuyu Asui and Fumikage Tokoyami.”

The UA Six shook hands with Mischa and Jessa, barring Kacchan, of course. Mischa was the first to take notice of this:

“Hey, it’s OK, big guy; I don’t bite!”

“Piss off,” said Kacchan.

Mischa frowned. “Wow, rude!

Deko frowned and turned towards Kacchan as well. “Kacchan, what is your problem!? These people are accepting us as honored guests! Please, show some respect towards them!”

“SHUT UP, NERD! NEWS FLASH: I NEVER WANTED TO BE A PART OF THIS STUPID MISSION, ANYHOW!”

Lienda frowned and put her fists on her hips. “Bakugo, I understand if you’re antisocial, but while you’re an honored guest here, you WILL treat others with kindness, or else I’ll be forced to report your poor behavior to the UA faculty! Is that understood?”

Kacchan clenched his fists, gritted his teeth and gave the meanest death glare that he could to Lienda. While he still hated pretty much everyone’s guts, he secretly feared what the UA faculty might do to him, so he relaxed his stance.

“OK…you win.”

Lienda smiled and relaxed her stance as well. “Glad you see things our way!”

Reluctantly, Kacchan shook hands with Mischa and Jessa.

“Now then, come with me,” said Lienda.

===

Lienda led the UA Six up to her office at the top floor of the tower, which was decorated with random photos of her family, various awards and other knick-knacks. Lienda sat down at her desk.

“Now then, girls, perhaps you’d care to explain the story to our guests.”

Mischa stepped forward. “So, we had a class on World War II, and while I was doing my own independent research, I found out about a top-secret Nazi project known as ‘Projekt Reichswolf’, launched in late 1944 as an attempt to produce a new breed of super soldier. The project was supposedly unsuccessful, but Jessa and I have reason to believe that it may have been more successful than we originally thought.”

Kacchan crossed his arms. “Ya seriously believe that a project conceived by a bunch of dead guys actually succeeded? That sounds like some premium shit if ya ask me.”

“Kacchan, I don’t think it’s as implausible as you make it out to be,” said Deko.

“NO ONE ASKED YOU, NERD!”

Lienda glared at Kacchan. “Bakugo, please let Midoriya speak.”

Deko bowed. “Thank you, Headmistress Lebron. Anyways, I once went on a mission with Todoroki to combat a right-wing group known as the Japanisch-Deutsches Reichskommissariat. We defeated all of the group’s members except for their leader, a villain known only as ‘Steel Wolf’. We did, however, recover some important documents, one of which referred to this ‘Projekt Reichswolf’. We also found a letter reaching out to the League of Villains.”

Tokoyami nodded. “That makes sense.”

“So what do we do in the meantime?” asked Todoroki.

“You six will take courses along with the rest of our students,” said Lienda. “I’ve already provided you with student handbooks, and Mischa and Jessa will escort you to your dorms. Any other questions?”

No one had any questions.

“OK. Enjoy your stay here at Supernatural Academy!”

===

Jessa and Mischa led Deko and co. to their dorms. Along the way, they made conversation:

“OK, Midoriya, I gotta be honest: your hair is fire!” said Jessa.

Todoroki scratched his head. “It doesn’t appear to be on fire to me.”

Deko, Jessa and Mischa burst out laughing.

“Todoroki, what Jessa was saying was that my hair looked really good!” said Deko.

Todoroki gave a blank stare. “Oh.”

Jessa and Mischa stopped.

“OK, your dorms are here,” said Mischa. “Looking forward to seeing you in class tomorrow!”

“Likewise!” Deko bowed.

Deko and co. entered their dorms and unpacked their belongings. Shortly after Deko settled into her dorm, she heard some random banging and sawing coming from a neighboring dorm, so she investigated, only to see Todoroki wearing a hard hat, remodelling his dorm to resemble the Japanese-style dorm he had back at UA.

“Todoroki, what are you doing!?” exclaimed Deko.

Todoroki paused. “What? I’m just remaking the dorm to my taste.”

“This isn’t UA! You can’t do that!”

“But Deko, this is America. They have freedom here.”

“Ugh!” Deko shook her head. “Look, Todoroki, please…don’t do anything that would get us kicked out of this school, OK?”

Todoroki sparkled. “But I like my dorm like this.”

Deko smiled. “I’ll make out with you if you stop messing around with your dorm!”

Todoroki froze. He was still intent on molding the dorm to the way he wanted, but on the other hand, Deko was the most beautiful girl he’d ever met, and who was he to turn down an opportunity to feel her lips against his? Slowly, he relinquished his grip on his hammer.

“OK…you win, Deko.”

Deko smiled. “Glad you see things my way!”

Deko embraced Todoroki and began making out with him, straddling him as she laid him down on his bed. It was going to be a fun stay at Supernatural Academy for sure.

===

Meanwhile, in an unknown part of Japan, in an abandoned office building with interior decorations straight out of the Third Reich, Oberst-Gruppenführer Shinichi Henkel – a gray werewolf wearing a black SS uniform – reported to the office of Steel Wolf.

SHINICHI “FUSION MAN” HENKEL:
QUIRK: Fusion. Allows the user to fuse with any object they touch or with another person. However, staying fused for too long will cause the user to disintegrate.

“Herr Reichsführer, one of our spies has reported that six students from UA High School have arrived at Supernatural Academy.”

Just then, Steel Wolf – a shadowy figure – made an inquiry in a deepest, most bone-chilling voice:

“Has she gotten any intelligence on who they are?”

“Ja, Herr Reichsführer. We have files on them here.”

Henkel produced a manila folder with files on Deko, Kacchan, Todoroki, Uraraka, Tsu and Tokoyami. Steel Wolf took the folder and perused the contents.

“You have done well, Oberst-Gruppenführer Henkel. In three days’ time, our master plan will come to fruition, and a new Reich will dawn upon the Earth. Do everything in your power to ensure that this becomes a reality.

“Ja, Herr Reichsführer. Heil Hitler!”

Henkel and Steel Wolf both stood up straight and gave each other the “Hitler salute”. Things were about to get interesting in the world of heroes.

Chapter 3: Heroes Meet Supernaturals

Chapter Text

As per regulations, the UA Six wore their typical gray and blue UA school uniforms for the school day. When Deko got up, she was greeted by Mischa and Jessa.

“Good morning, Midoriya!” said Mischa.

Deko smiled. “Good morning, Mischa and Jessa! I’m ready for classes whenever you two are.”

“Why don’t we grab breakfast first?” said Jessa.

“Good idea!”

===

The UA Six accompanied Mischa and Jessa to the cafeteria, which had quite the smorgasbord of food. In contrast to UA, Supernatural Academy served more typically American breakfast foods such as cereal, bacon, waffles and scrambled eggs, plus some premium items such as fried chicken and ribeye steaks. Deko took a table with Todoroki, Mischa and Jessa, though they wouldn’t be the only ones dining at this table. Also here were two other boys. One was a tall boy with long, dark blue hair partly done up in a bun, tan skin and purple eyes. He wore a dark purple blazer with gold trim, a dark purple sweater vest over a dark purple long-sleeve shirt with a dark purple tie, dark purple pants and black leather dress shoes. The other was an almost as tall boy with light blond hair in a quiff style, yellowish-brown eyes and a similar complexion. He wore the same kind of blazer as the other boy, but with a red sweater vest, a white long-sleeve shirt, dark purple pants and black leather dress shoes.

“Hey Jessa, you never told us that we’d be having visitors,” said the blond boy.

“Brax, Max, these are our guests Izuko Midoriya and her boyfriend Shoto Todoroki. Izuko, Shoto, this is my boyfriend Braxton Compass, aka ‘Brax’. The dark-haired one is his brother Maximus, aka ‘Max’. He’s Mischa’s boyfriend.”

Brax – the blond boy – waved at Deko and Todoroki. “Hi, nice to meet you both!”

Max waved at Deko and Todoroki as well. “Yeah, nice to meet you too! It’s not often we get Asians here at this school.”

Deko smiled. “Todoroki and I were sent here from Japan as exchange students because Mischa and Jessa had a mission for us.”

“Oh, that! Well, it’s a good thing they called for help, because based on what I know about this ‘Projekt Reichswolf’, it seems like they could even put the Dragon King to shame.”

Todoroki swallowed a piece of waffle. “Louis told us about the Dragon King and what happened to your father.”

Deko frowned. “Mischa, Jessa, I’m really sorry for your loss. I don’t know exactly how either of you feel, but to be honest…I never really got to know my real father. He was posted on an overseas assignment when I was really young and I haven’t seen him since. All Might was the closest person I ever had to a real father. If you ever need to talk about any of this, I promise, I’m here for you two.”

Mischa smiled. “Thanks, Izuko. That really meant a lot to me.”

Jessa smiled too. “Yeah, I haven’t even known you for a day, but I already like you!”

Deko giggled. “Awww, thanks!”

“So tell me, you four: what are your Quirks?” asked Todoroki.

Mischa raised an eyebrow. “Quirks?

“Yeah, what do you mean?” asked Jessa.

Brax shrugged. “I’m clueless, too.”

“Yeah, tell us!” said Max.

Deko put a hand on Todoroki’s shoulder. “Uh, Todoroki, I don’t think these people have Quirks in the traditional sense.”

“They don’t? Then how do they expect to become heroes?”

Deko chuckled. “Just let me explain, honey.” She turned to the rest of the group. “In our world, 80% of the human population is born with a superpower, or ‘Quirk’. We have special schools where people learn how to become heroes. My Quirk is a legendary Quirk called ‘One For All’ that has been passed down through generations, growing stronger and stronger each time. However, it’s so powerful that I can only use a certain percentage of its power without hurting myself.”

Mischa and Jessa were wide-eyed at hearing about this.

“Wow…that is so cool!” said Mischa.

“Yeah, I never knew that stuff existed!” said Jessa.

“My Quirk is ‘Half-Cold Half-Hot’,” said Todoroki. “It allows me to shoot ice from the right side of my body and fire from the left side. However, I’ll freeze to death if I overuse my ice, and I’ll die of heatstroke if I overuse my fire.”

Brax nodded. “OK, OK, I get this whole ‘Quirk’ thing now. I’m a Dragon Shifter, which means I can transform into a dragon. There aren’t many of us left because of discrimination against Dragon-Marked people.”

“I’m a vampire,” said Max. “You can figure the rest out from there.”

“Jessa and I are Wolf Shifters,” said Mischa. “Well…Jessa’s more of a Dual Shifter.”

“I accidentally discovered the ability to shift into a dragon form as well as a wolf form while confronting Kristov one day. It’s been pretty difficult living with her, but we’ve gotten along better since the fight with the Dragon King.”

“Fascinating,” said Todoroki. “I had no idea there were ways of having powers besides Quirks.”

Jessa smiled. “Well, you’d be surprised, Shoto.”

Todoroki smiled. He was definitely enjoying being at Supernatural Academy so far. However, it was clear that Kacchan was enjoying it less:

“LEAVE ME ALONE, YOU GRAPE SODA BITCH!”

The current object of Kacchan’s ire was a purple-skinned fairy with shoulder-length wavy white hair done up in a bun, with a few braids. This fairy wore a purple blazer similar to what Max and Brax wore, plus a dark purple sweater vest, a white blouse, dark purple pants and no shoes.

Excuse me, but I do NOT approve of you being so rude to me! Don’t you know who I am?”

“NO, AND I DON’T FRIGGIN’ CARE!”

Uraraka – who was sitting at the same table as Kacchan, Tsu and Tokoyami – chuckled nervously.

“Um…please forgive Bakugo! He has a bit of a hair-trigger temper!”

“NO ONE ASKED YOU, PINK CHEEKS!”

“Well anyways, my name is Jae Stanek,” said the fairy. “I go by the pronouns they/them.”

Tokoyami gasped and his eyes widened at the revelation. “You’re ALSO nonbinary!? Why, it is the greatest of honors to meet you!”

Jae smiled. “Nice to meet you too, Mx…”

“I am Fumikage Tokoyami.”

Tsu put her index finger up to her chin. “This school seems to be very friendly towards the LGBTQ+ community, ribbit.”

“Got that right!” said a voluptuous Black girl with long, curly, ombre-colored hair in a ponytail and greenish-brown eyes. She wore a purple vest with green trim, a white long-sleeve blouse, a dark purple skirt exactly like Jessa’s and black loafers.

“Who are you?” asked Tsu.

“I’m Terra de Klerk!”

“Nice to meet you. I’m Tsuyu Asui, but my friends call me ‘Tsu’.”

Terra smiled. “Nice to meet you, too!”

And with that, bonding was well-set.

===

The students’ first class was Human History, taught by Frank McQuarrie, a large brown troll wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, a black tie, a dark red kilt, long socks and brown leather dress shoes.

“A’richt, students, we hae six exchange students joining us th’day. Ye six, please come forward ‘n introduce yourselves.”

The UA Six stepped up to the front of the class and took turns introducing themselves:

“Good morning, everyone! My name is Izuko Midoriya, but you can call me ‘Deko’! My Quirk…uh, power, I should say, is called ‘One For All’, which gives me great power passed down through generations. I like video games, reading, playing and listening to music, and cooking. It’s nice to meet everybody!”

The class gave positive responses to Deko’s introduction. Kacchan stepped up next:

“Hi, I’m Katsuki Bakugo, and all of you suck.”

The class booed Kacchan’s introduction, prompting McQuarrie to try to restore order:

“Class, settle doon! settle doon! Bakugo, hae ye na respect fur yer fellow students!? Ye shuid shaw mair respect while ye’r ‘ere. Ah cuid break ye, sae apologize tae th’ class.”

Kacchan crossed his arms. “And if I don’t…?”

“Then ah will hae na choice bit tae expel ye fae this schuil ‘n tell yer faculty members whit an ill-behaved bastard ye’v bin.”

Kacchan sighed. “Fine.” He turned to the class. “I’m Katsuki Bakugo, and my Quirk is Explosion, which allows me to create explosions from my body. I like mountain climbing, playing drums, and spicy foods.”

Next up was Todoroki:

“Hi there, I’m Shoto Todoroki, son of the #2 Pro Hero Enji Todoroki, aka ‘Endeavor’. My Quirk is Half-Cold Half-Hot, which allows me to shoot ice from the right side of my body and fire from my left side. I enjoy video games, watching foreign films, playing and listening to music, and art. I’m also a firearms enthusiast.”

Uraraka went next.

“Hey, I’m Ochaco Uraraka! My Quirk is Zero Gravity, which allows me to make anything I touch – as well as myself – to float. I like doll collecting, boxing, starlit skies and woodworking.”

Tsu came after Uraraka.

“Hello everyone. I’m Tsuyu Asui, but my friends call me ‘Tsu’. My Quirk is Frog, which allows me to do anything that a frog can, ribbit. This means I can swim underwater, hop long distances, extend my tongue for long distances, climb up any surface, camouflage myself and secrete a multipurpose toxic mucus. I can also spit out my stomach to clean it. That’s not very useful, though. I like rain, hiking through forests, playing tabletop strategy games and jelly donuts. Thank you.”

Finally, it was Tokoyami’s turn:

“Greetings, students. I am Fumikage Tokoyami. My Quirk is Dark Shadow, which gives me control over a sentient being of the same name. My pronouns are they/them. I enjoy apple pie, dark places, playing and listening to music, falconry, and – like Tsu – I enjoy tabletop strategy games.”

All of the UA Six – barring Kacchan – had gotten their fair share of applause. Then, McQuarrie got on with the day’s lesson:

“Class, th’day we ur aff tae be learning aboot th’ Godzilla movies. Th’ Godzilla movies ur based oan th’ incredible true story aboot howfur th’ radioactive monster Godzilla attacked Tokyo in 1952 ‘n…”

Suddenly, Kacchan burst out laughing, which drew McQuarrie’s ire:

“’n whit’s sae funny, Bakugo?”

“Oh, that is so freakin’ stupid! The Godzilla movies are true stories? Yeah, and Ronald Reagan invented the Internet!”

“Dinnae mock mah intellect! Mr. Reagan’s stoatin contributions tae th’ field o’ telecommunications cannae be underestimated! Wi’oot th’ modern Inturnet, lee as we ken it cuid nae exist!”

“Whatever, Rock Head.”

“Th’ name's nae ‘Rock Head’! ‘tis ‘Mr. McQuarrie'! Git it richt!”

Kacchan rolled his eyes. It was gonna be a long day for him.

Lunch was a similar affair as breakfast, barring the different foods. Still, with varied fare such as BBQ ribs, pork-fried rice and sweet & sour chicken, among others, there was plenty of choice. Just as they’d done at breakfast, Deko and Todoroki joined Mischa, Jessa, Max and Brax at lunch.

“Nice to see you two again!” said Mischa.

Deko smiled. “Likewise!”

“Excuse me, Mischa, but may I ask you a question?” said Todoroki.

“Go ahead, Shoto!”

“Your skin tone…your accents…are you and Jessa Hispanic by any chance?”

Mischa nodded. “Puerto Rican, to be precise. I grew up in The Bronx, and there’s a large Puerto Rican community there.”

Jessa nodded. “Well…she grew up there, anyhow. I had always grown up here in Stratford with my father.”

“Tell me more about that,” said Todoroki.

“It’s not something we usually like to talk about, but since we like you guys well enough, I’ll tell you: Mischa and I were separated at birth because we were both Dragon-Marked, and our parents were afraid that keeping us together would bring about the rise of the Dragon King.”

“One night, I began having these strange dreams, and I was drawing stuff in my notebook that looked so real,” said Mischa. “Then, I accidentally tore up the sofa in my sleep, and that was when Mom decided that it wasn’t safe for us to stay in New York, so she brought me here.”

Deko formed tears in her eyes, much to Mischa and Jessa’s concern.

“Is something wrong?” asked Mischa.

“Yeah, why are you crying?” asked Jessa.

“I’m sorry, it’s just…knowing that you two have been through so much, I just wanna give you two a big hug right now!”

Mischa and Jessa gave a collective “awww”, and they got into one big girly group hug with Deko, who felt like one of the best people in the world. Getting and giving hugs made her feel happy regardless, but knowing that she’d found kinship with two fellow girls who had also been through their own kind of trauma really made her feel like she belonged at Supernatural Academy. Even Todoroki, Max and Brax were taken with the whole display, and Uraraka, Tsu, Jae and Terra were enraptured as well. However, Todoroki took notice of something:

“Er…don’t look now, but I think Tokoyami’s gonna beat somebody up…”

Deko, Mischa and Jessa broke away from each other and noticed Tokoyami heading to another table. Seated at the table were three girls, two of whom appeared to be harassing the other. One of the no-gooders was a harpy girl with purple skin, green eyes and short black hair with literal feathers in it. She wore a white blouse with a striped purple tie, dark gray pants held up by purple suspenders and black loafers. The other no-gooder was a mermaid with blonde hair that had blue tips and a crown of braids, and blue eyes. She wore a white blouse with a black tie, and she had a wheelchair owing to her mermaid tail. As for the poor victim, she was a plus-sized brunette with bouffant hair and two brown bunny ears on top of her head. She wore a tan sweater, a purple skirt with a white stripe, black leggings and black loafers.

“Hey, give me back my cake!” said the poor bunny girl.

“Listen, Chanelle, just because Elda and Zadi are MIA doesn’t mean you’re getting off that easy!” said. the harpy.

“Yeah, you still owe us from last time!” said the mermaid girl.

“HEY!” shouted Tokoyami. “Leave that girl alone!”

The harpy and the mermaid focused their attention on Tokoyami.

“Hop off, Bird Brain!” said the harpy.

“Yeah, don’t you know who we are?” said the mermaid.

“Yeah. You’re just two ne’er-do-wells who are soon to become faceless victims if you don’t leave the nice rabbit girl alone.”

The harpy turned to the mermaid. “Opal, think this simp needs a lesson taught to him?”

“Facts, Shan!”

Opal and Shan approached Tokoyami, who made their intentions clear:

“If you continue your aggressive course of action, I swear, I will liquefy your internal organs and watch you vomit them all over the floor…and I’ll be laughing the entire time.”

Tokoyami’s mouth twitched upwards into a devious smile, and they let out an evil chuckle, even deploying Dark Shadow. Seeing this, Shan and Opal screamed bloody murder, the former pushing the latter’s wheelchair as fast as she could as they beat their feet out of the cafeteria. After retracting Dark Shadow, Tokoyami sat down with the bunny girl.

“Excuse me, Mademoiselle, but may I ask how you’re feeling at the moment? Those two miscreants didn’t hurt you…did they?”

The bunny girl trembled. “N-no, but…please…d-don’t kill me!”

Tokoyami placed their hand on the bunny girl’s shoulder and smiled…albeit a genuine, non-evil one, this time. “Fear not, Mademoiselle, for I will not hurt you; I merely wished to defend your right to a safe learning environment from those two troublemakers. I am Fumikage Tokoyami, and my pronouns are they/them. And you are…?”

The bunny girl took a deep breath. “I’m Chanelle…Chanelle McMahon. I also use they/them, but I’m cool with she/her, too.”

“Charmed to meet you, Chanelle.”

Tokoyami took Chanelle’s hand and kissed it, causing her to giggle.

“Tell me about yourself, Chanelle.”

“I was born in Cranston, Rhode Island, but my mom and I moved here when her and my dad got divorced. I’m a Bunny Shifter, which I think is kinda lame. Up until today, no one really stuck up for me, so thank you!” Chanelle smiled.

“You’re most welcome, Chanelle. I was born in Musutafu, but I didn’t always look like this. In fact, my parents thought I was going to be Quirkless. Then, one night, the supernatural being known only as Dark Shadow crept into my room and fused itself with me. At first, I couldn’t control it, but as I grew older, I gained better control over my Quirk. Were it not for Midoriya, I might not have any friends.”

Chanelle dropped her jaw. “Wow, that’s…that’s a terrifying story! I feel so sorry for you.”

Tokoyami kept smiling. “It’s quite all right, my dear. Dark Shadow and I have learned mutual respect for one another. But enough about me. I’m curious about what activities you enjoy.”

Chanelle tapped her fingers together. “Well…I enjoy watching anime, but I guess that’s too dorky for you…”

Tokoyami put their hand on Chanelle’s shoulder. “No no, that’s not dorky at all! Well…not compared to some of my hobbies…”

Chanelle smiled. “Your hobbies aren’t dorky! Well…you never told me your hobbies, but still…”

“I’m a devotee of falconry. Sadly, I have fallen out of practice since UA became a boarding school, but hopefully, I can resume my practice here. I also enjoy playing tabletop strategy games and listening to music. I also play the guitar.”

“Wow…that’s so cool! Can you sing, too?”

Can I?

Tokoyami sang a couple of bars of “Diamonds and Rust”, and Chanelle’s eyes lit up.

“I like you, Tokoyami!”

Tokoyami blushed. “Oh…thank you.”

===

Later on in the day, Deko was in her dorm when she heard knocking.

“I’m coming!”

Deko opened her door and saw Tokoyami, who was wide-eyed, blushing and sweaty.

“Tokoyami, is everything OK?”

Tokoyami nodded. “Y-yes…fine, well, except…”

“Yes?”

“Midoriya, I was sitting with this girl named Chanelle at lunch, and suddenly, it felt like my heart fell into my stomach and everything got extremely hot and tingly!”

“Tokoyami…” Deko gasped, and then smiled. “Tokoyami…you’re in love! Ohmigosh, I’m so happy for you!”

“Is…is that what love feels like? If that’s so, I…I want MORE!” Tokoyami grabbed Deko by the shoulders and shook her. “How can I get more love!?”

Deko smiled nervously and gently pushed Tokoyami away. “OK, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves! Just take things slow and let her come to you! Based on what I saw of you interacting with her, she seems to be really into you, so just be yourself, OK?”

Tokoyami took a deep breath and nodded. “Right.”

“Midoriya, Tokoyami, are you two gonna come to the party today?” Jessa walked over.

“What party?” asked Tokoyami.

Mischa was with Jessa, too. “Whenever we have new arrivals here, we throw a huge party for them out in the courtyard!”

Deko smiled. “Sounds exciting! Just lemme make a call first…”

Deko attempted to call someone, only to discover that her phone had no signal.

“What the hell?”

“Yeah…there’s no cell reception here,” said Jessa. “We know a spot where there is, though.”

===

Mischa and Jessa led Deko to a spot up on a hill that was surrounded by a circle of stones. Jae was already there.

“Hey Jae!” said Deko. “What brings you up here?”

“I was calling my girlfriend.”

Deko smiled. “You never told me you were a lesbian!”

“Technically, I’m pansexual, but good guess.”

Deko rubbed the back of her head. “Oh…sorry!”

Jae smiled. “No no no, it’s OK!”

“Anyways, I too have to make a call…”

Deko placed a call once she got reception.

“Hello?” said a familiar female voice on the other line.

“Jiro, it’s Deko.”

“Good morning, Midoriya!” said Kyoka Jiro. “How are you?”

“I’m doing well, and you?”

“Oh, you know, living the dream!”

Deko chuckled. “I know! Anyways, you’re an expert computer hacker, right?”

“I am. What can I do for you?”

“Jiro, I need you to find information on a villain known only as ‘Steel Wolf’. We don’t know too much about them other than that they’re a member of a far-right group known as the Japanisch-Deutsches Reichskommissariat.”

“I’ll do my best. It could take some time, but you’ll know as soon as I get something on them.”

“Good. Oh, and tell Kaminari that I said hi!”

Jiro chuckled. “Will do! Anyways, I have classes soon, so I gotta hang up. Have a nice day, Midoriya!”

“You too!”

Deku hung up.

“Friend from back home?” asked Mischa.

Deko nodded. “And a good one, too!”

“Well, what are we waiting for?” said Jessa. “Let’s party!”

===

At the courtyard, a bunch of rectangular tables were set up with random foods, plus round tables for students to sit at. There were also balloons, plus a banner that said “SUPERNATURAL ACADEMY WELCOMES UA”. Already, a bunch of people had served themselves. Naturally, Deko sat down with Todoroki, who was already accompanied by Brax and Max. Mischa and Jessa sat down with them, too.

“Oh, hello Deko,” said Todoroki. “You’re a bit late.”

Deko smiled. “Sorry, I had to make an important call!”

“Is this about our current mission?” Todoroki took a bite of the Porterhouse steak he was eating.

“Yeah, once Jiro’s done with classes, she’s gonna look up information on Steel Wolf.”

Brax swallowed a piece of tonkatsu…that is, Japanese-style fried pork cutlet. “Sounds like you’re really on top of it, Midoriya!”

“Please, call me ‘Deko’!”

“Hm?” Brax tilted his head.

“How did you get that nickname?” asked Max.

“Kaccha…er…Bakugo came up with that one, saying that it was short for ‘Defenseless Izuko’. However, Uraraka really liked it and thought it sounded like the name of a hero because of its ‘can do’ vibe, so I took it on with pride!”

Brax gave a thumbs up. “Well, I like it too!”

“Me too!” said Max.

“Us three!” said Mischa and Jessa.

“Hey Deko, I saw you coming down from the hill.” Uraraka came over. “What was that about?”

“Well, I wasn’t getting any cell reception, so Mischa and Jessa showed me a spot where I could get some. I made a call to Jiro, and she agreed to help us find information on Steel Wolf. Tell Kacchan, Tsu and Tokoyami as well.”

“Tell us about what?” asked Tsu.

“Oh, hey Tsu!” said Deko. “I was just telling Uraraka that Jiro agreed to help us find information on Steel Wolf!”

Tsu nodded. “Ribbit.”

“Hey, who wants to have a dance party?” asked Mischa.

“We do!” Deko, Todoroki, Max and Brax all raised their hands.

“Just let us finish this wonderful food first, OK?” said Todoroki.

“You got it!” Jessa gave a thumbs up.

After everyone finished their food, they headed for the dance floor.

“Who wants to listen to some rock ‘n’ roll!?” said Deko.

“What’s ‘rock ‘n’ roll’?” asked Jessa.

Deko gasped and dropped her jaw.

“YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT ROCK ‘N’ ROLL IS!?”

“Jessa, rock ‘n’ roll is a kind of loud, fast music from the human world that is played on guitars,” said Mischa.

“Well, let’s hear it!”

Deko set up a Bluetooth speaker and used her phone to play a rock playlist, starting with “Thunderbird” by ZZ Top – more precisely, the live version from the 1975 album Fandango! As soon as the actual music kicked in after the crowd intro, everyone began jumping, jiving, headbanging and just generally rocking out. Deko was dancing with Todoroki, Mischa was dancing with Max, Jessa was dancing with Brax, Tokoyami was dancing with Chanelle, and everyone was just having the most excellent time of their lives. Despite never having heard rock music before, Jessa, Brax, Max, Jae and Terra were enjoying it very much judging by the way they were moving their feet and shaking their bodies to the music. Deko smiled, knowing that she started a very good thing and that people were taking to it very well. The rock power continued with such hard-rockin’ tunes as “Back to Wentzville” by George Thorogood & The Destroyers, “I Know a Little” by Lynyrd Skynyrd and “Train Kept A-Rollin’” as covered by Aerosmith. During the song “Beatin’ the Odds” by Molly Hatchet, Mischa noticed that Kacchan was just standing on the sidelines, so she took a break and swam through the crowd to get to him.

“Hey Bakugo, why aren’t you dancing?”

“1. The music sucks, and 2. I HATE DANCING!”

“How would ya know? You haven’t even tried it!”

“AND I DON’T WANNA! NOW SCREW OFF!”

“Come on, it’s not that bad! Just one dance?”

“NO!”

“OK, big guy, I see how it is!”

“Wait, WHAT THE CRAP…!?”

Mischa grabbed Kacchan by the arm and roped him into dancing with her and Max. He tried to fake it at first, but eventually, he decided that this was too stupid.

“GIMME YOUR PHONE, DEKO!” Kacchan swiped Deko’s phone away from her.

“Kacchan, WHAT are you doing!?”

“Puttin’ on better music!”

Kacchan exited the MP3 collection on Deko’s phone, opened up Spotify and put on “Hatred Relentless” by Abnormality. Upon hearing the rapid-fire palm-muted guitars and blast beat death metal drumming, most of the students covered their ears.

“What is this awful music!?” cried Jessa.

“I feel like my head’s gonna explode!” exclaimed Brax.

“Kacchan, stop the music!” cried Deko. “My ears are bleeding!”

“Hell no!” Kacchan headbanged and did the “devil’s horns” gesture. “I’m enjoyin’ this way too much!”

Kacchan wasn’t the only one enjoying death metal, either. Tokoyami and even Chanelle were headbanging to it. However, even though Tokoyami was a good friend of hers, Deko couldn’t abide by the ear bleeding volume of death metal anymore, so she snatched her phone back from Kacchan and stopped the music.

“Kacchan, what the actual HELL!? You don’t steal people’s phones from them!”

“WHAT THE CRAP, NERD!? I WAS ENJOYIN’ THAT!”

“Bakugo, I enjoy metal, but death metal is too much for me and most of these people here,” said Todoroki.

“NO ONE ASKED YOU, ICYHOT!”

“Midoriya, Chanelle and I were really enjoying the death metal,” said Tokoyami. “May we please hear some more?”

Deko smiled nervously and made a gentle pushing motion towards Tokoyami. “Thanks, but why don’t you two listen to that on your own time? Besides, I also wanted to play some disco music for everyone.”

“What’s disco music?” asked Mischa.

Deko dropped her jaw and put her hands on her cheeks. “YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT DISCO MUSIC IS!?”

“No?”

Deko took her hands off her cheeks and smiled. “Why, it’s only one of the best forms of dance music ever! Let me show you!”

Deko put on “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees, and everyone danced to songs from classics such as “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor, “Rock Your Baby” by George McCrae and “The Break” by Kat Mandu, to more obscure cuts such as “When the Shit Hits the Fan (Rocket Pocket)” by Bionic Boogie, “Sunset People” by Donna Summer and “Time Actor” by Richard Wahnfried. Overall, everyone was having a disco good time.

===

After the party was over, Deko and the rest of the UA Six helped clean up.

“Hey Midoriya, thanks for the music!” said Jessa. “That was some good stuff!”

“You’re welcome, Jessa!”

“Deko, you really showed us how to party!” said Jae. “I’m gonna be streaming a LOT of disco songs from now on!”

“Glad you liked it, Jae!”

“I liked it too, and I’m gonna enjoy havin’ you six here at Supernatural Academy!” said Terra.

Deko smiled and gave a dismissive hand flap. “Awww, all of you are too kind!” She yawned and stretched. “Well, it’s been fun, but I’d better get to bed. We’ve got some big days ahead of us.”

“Good night, Deko!” said Mischa, Jessa, Max, Brax, Jae and Terra simultaneously.

Deko headed off to her dorm.

“Deko, wait up!”

Deko turned around. “What’s up, Todoroki?”

“May I please snuggle with you tonight?”

Deko smiled. “Of course you may!”

===

Deko and Todoroki headed off to the dorms, and after they’d showered and cleaned their teeth, they went to bed and snuggled with each other.

“For years, I’ve dreamed of going to America, and knowing that my dream has not only come true, but that I get to be with the girl I love, I…I’m at such a loss for words,” said Todoroki.

“You don’t have to say anything, honey. I feel like you do. Anyways, enough talk. Good night, Todoroki!”

“Good night, Deko!”

Deko and Todoroki kissed each other before turning out the lights. As Ice Cube once said, it was a good day. However, they still had a hell of a fight ahead of them.

Chapter 5: Accidents Will Happen

Chapter Text

When Deko awoke, she felt something nibbling at her neck, only to discover that it was Todoroki doing so.

“TODOROKI!”

Deko slapped Todoroki until he let go of her.

“What?” Todoroki smiled. “Was I not supposed to enjoy the company of the sexiest girl ever?”

Deko glared at Todoroki. Then, she burst out laughing.

“Oh, you’re so silly, Todoroki!”

Todoroki giggled.

“Seriously, though, ask permission before you do stuff like that, Sillyroki!”

Todoroki smirked. “Oh, you mean stuff like this?

Todoroki grabbed Deko’s massive breasts, causing her to gasp and blush.

“You bastard! I oughta…”

“Oughta…AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

“Yeah, very funny to grab a girl’s boobs now that you’re being tickled!”

“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I’LL GET YOU FOR THIS!”

“Say that again?

“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I SAID I’LL GET YOU FOR THIS!

“I wouldn’t think…AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

Todoroki put on an evil grin. “See how it feels…Midoriya?

“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! STAHP!”

And so, Deko and Todoroki engaged in a little tickle war before Deko decided she’d had enough and grabbed Todoroki’s wrists.

“OK, Tickleroki, let’s get dressed and get to class!”

===

Deko and Todoroki got dressed and headed for their first class of the day, making a stop at the hill where they could get reception, and Deko got a call from Jiro:

“Hello?”

“Good morning, Midoriya, although it’s evening back here in Japan.”

“Hey, what’s up, Jiro?”

“I got some information on Steel Wolf. His real name is Kichiro Regenbogen, Reichsführer-SS of the Japanisch-Deutsches Reichskommissariat. His Quirk is Polyalloy, meaning that his body is actually made of liquid metal. This Quirk allows him to take the form of other people and meld into floors, walls and ceilings. There are a few limitations to this Quirk: First of all, he can’t change into anything small like a pack of cigarettes, only objects of similar size. Second, he can’t form complex machines such as cars, guns or bombs. He can, however, form knives or other stabbing weapons from his arms and legs, as well as blunt objects such as crowbars.”

“Got it. Did you find out about anything else?”

“No, that was all I could get on Steel Wolf and the JDR.”

“OK, I’ll let the others know. Have a nice day, Jiro!”

“You too!”

Jiro hung up.

“What’s going on, Deko?” asked Todoroki.

“Jiro got some information on Steel Wolf, I’ll…”]

Just then, Deko caught a glint out of the corner of her eye.

“GET DOWN!”

Deko pushed Todoroki to the ground just in time to dodge a sniper’s bullet.

“Deko, you…you saved my life!”

“You’re welcome! Stay down!”

Deko and Todoroki darted in and out of cover to avoid getting shot, while Todoroki used an ice shield to protect them out in the open. While the sniper was good, his bullets couldn’t penetrate Todoroki’s ice. Deko and Todoroki were almost at the school building when they heard loud screaming. They looked over and saw a violent rustling in one of the bushes, so against their better judgment, they hurried over to check it out, only to see a werewolf in a Waffen-SS uniform getting torn up by a female lion, who promptly took notice of them. Unsure if the lion was going to eat them, Todoroki drew a Smith & Wesson Model 29, blued steel with an 8 3/8” barrel.

What really surprised them, though, was when the lion changed into a young blonde girl with her head shaved on the sides and back, but a messy mop on top and a large bang on the right side of her face, and amber eyes. She wore a purple vest with yellow trim over a white blouse with a black necktie, a dark purple pencil skirt with a black belt and black loafers with black knee high socks, plus ear and labret piercings.

“OK, put down the hand cannon, big guy. I’m on your side…sort of.”

Todoroki holstered his Model 29.

“Excuse me, but are you a student at this school?” asked Deko.

Was. My name’s Zadi Feldshuh. I’m technically supposed to be on the run with Elda, but I’m working undercover to combat the JDR.”

Deko smiled. “Nice to meet you, Zadi! I’m Izuko Midoriya, and this is my boyfriend, Shoto Todoroki. We’re exchange students from UA High School in Japan, and we came here to combat the JDR, too.”

“Just one question,” said Todoroki. “Why are you on the run, and who’s this ‘Elda’ you speak of?”

“Elda Kristov is the daughter of former headmaster Archibald Kristov. She attempted to lead the Dragon-Marked people into the outside world while they were under the influence of the Shadow Spawn. Jonathan Lebron’s sacrifice prevented this, but she and I escaped, and it was then that we got into contact with the League of Villains and the JDR.”

“But why are you helping us?”

“I’m Jewish. Us and Nazis don’t exactly see eye to eye, so I’ve been working undercover to stop Elda and the JDR. Before I go, though, let me say this: the JDR has a mole in Supernatural Academy.”

“Who?” asked Deko.

“Dunno; I haven’t gotten that far yet. Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go; if I stay any longer, Elda’s gonna get suspicious of me! Nice meeting you two!”

“Bye!”

Deko and Todoroki waved at Zadi, who waved back at them before leaving.

“Very strange, don’t you think?” said Todoroki.

“What do you mean?”

“This Zadi girl, why would she risk her life by working undercover with Nazis? Wouldn’t they find out she was Jewish sooner or later?”

“Judging by the tone in her voice, the pupils in her eyes and her body language, she’s trustworthy. Besides, there have been cases of Jews working undercover against the Nazis. Ever heard of Marthe Cohn?”

Todoroki stroked his chin. “Can’t say I have.”

Deko smiled and put her hand on Todoroki’s shoulder. “Look her up when you get a chance! Now come on, let’s report this to Mrs. Lebron!”

“Right!”

“Oh, one more question…”

“Yes?”

Where did you get a gun, and how did you get it past airport security?”

“My father is friends with an arms dealer. As for getting it past airport security…that’s a trade secret, Deko.”

“Then maybe I’ll tickle it out of you!”

Todoroki pushed her hands away. “No time to fool around; let’s go.”

===

Before breakfast, Deko and Todoroki headed up to Lienda’s office to report the shooting:

“Oh my!” Lienda put her hand up to her chin. “I’m glad you two are OK! Any idea who did it?”

“There’s no doubt in my mind: the JDR knows what we’re up to and is trying to kill us. They have a mole inside the school, but I’m not sure who it is. Regardless, I’m not backing down!”

Lienda smiled. “I admire your courage, Midoriya. You and the rest of your fellow students go about your business. In the meantime, I’ll have the Council Enforcers double up on security.”

“Right!” said Deko and Todoroki.

===

At lunch, Deko had different company: Jessa, Mischa, Uraraka and Tsu. Uraraka had suggested that they have a girls’ club day, so it was them hanging out. Mischa inquired about the attempted assassination:

“Deko, I heard you and Todoroki almost got shot today. What’s going on?”

“The JDR must’ve gotten wind of our plans and sent someone to assassinate us. I’m sure of it!”

Jessa smacked the bottom of her fist against her palm. “Then we gotta act now!”

“But how do we even know where they’re going to strike?” asked Uraraka.

“Ochaco’s right,” said Tsu. “If we charge in without a plan, we’re as good as dead, ribbit. Besides, we don’t even know where their headquarters are.”

“We’ll figure out a way.” Deko clenched her fist. “It could take some time, but we’ll get through this!”

Mischa smiled. “I like your spunk, Deko! By the way, may I ask you a question?”

Deko nodded. “Go ahead.”

“Why is Bakugo so angry all the time? Seriously, it seems like he blows up over the smallest things!”

“Yeah, you’d think he eats dynamite for breakfast or something!” Jessa giggled.

Deko shrugged. “I’m sort of at a loss to explain that one, Mischa. As far back as I can remember, he always teased me because I used to be Quirkless, but when I got One For All and joined UA, he tried to do whatever he could to one-up me and constantly got frustrated when he failed. I guess what I’m trying to say is that not only does he feel inferior to me, but he also feels like he has to work twice as hard to try to surpass me and is frustrated at being surpassed by a girl.”

Mischa frowned and leaned away from Deko. “Wow, talk about a sexist pig!”

Deko crossed her arms. “Sexist he may be, but he is very powerful and a valuable ally if you can get him to cooperate.”

Jessa frowned. “Still, I wonder how any of you put up with him!”

“Well Jessa, it’s not a question of putting up with him so much as the teachers won’t put up with him,” said Tsu. “As long as they hang the threat of expulsion over his head like the Sword of Damocles, he’ll stay in line, ribbit.”

“I just wish it didn’t have to be that way,” said Uraraka.

Louis stopped by with a white cardboard box in his hands. “Hey Midoriya, someone from UA bought a cake for you.”

“But we didn’t ask for any…”

Suddenly, Midoriya’s nose turned up at a weird smell, almost like motor oil, when she realized…

“IT’S A BOMB!”

Deko jumped over the table and tackled Louis, causing him to drop the box. When it hit the ground, it ripped open, revealing that yes, indeed, there was a bomb concealed in a phony cake. A number of students fled for the door screaming, except for Todoroki, who ran over to where Deko and the girls were.

“Where’s the bomb?” asked Todoroki.

“Over there!”

Deko pointed to the cake bomb on the ground, and Todoroki used his ice to freeze the bomb and render it inert.

“Wow Todoroki, how did you know to do that?” said Uraraka.

“I saw a documentary on bomb squads. There was this one for the London Metropolitan Police Department that used a special robot that could inject bombs with liquid nitrogen.”

Tsu put her index finger up to her chin. “That’s impressive, ribbit.”

Louis got to his feet. “Midoriya, Todoroki, I don’t know how to thank you. I really shoulda thought twice about that cake. I’ll hand it over to the Council for analysis.”

“Right.”

===

No further accidents occurred to Deko, Todoroki or any of the other UA students that day. After classes, the UA Six met with their supernatural compatriots – plus Chanelle – on an obscure corner of the quad. Deko informed everyone of Jiro’s intelligence.

“Sounds like we might have a tough time beating this guy,” said Uraraka.

“Regenbogen doesn’t sound too tough,” said Todoroki. “Judging by what I know about metal, a well-aimed Flashfreeze Heatwave should take care of him.”

Brax gave a thumbs up. “Great idea, Todoroki. I like your thinking!”

“But what about the rest of the JDR?” asked Terra. “We don’t even know anything about them.”

“We’ll find out somehow,” said Deko. “Keep in mind that pro heroes have some of their own going undercover to…”

Just then, a shot rang out and just barely missed Deko.

“WATCH OUT!”

The students dodged out of the way while machine gun fire tried to cut them down. After getting into cover, the students made an effort to determine where the gunfire was coming from. Deko tapped Todoroki on the shoulder and pointed to a group of bushes that rustled a bit and held up three fingers, indicating that there were three gunmen. Todoroki nodded and drew his Model 29. He then proceeded to ice surf out of cover.

“HEY, I’M UP HERE, YOU NAZI ASSHOLES! COME AT ME!”

Todoroki managed to draw the attention of the gunmen, who turned out to be about as good shots as the average stormtrooper. With the shooters focusing on him, the other students came out of cover and used their powers against them. They managed to destroy the gunmen’s cover, but the gunmen themselves – essentially werewolves wearing SS uniforms and wielding MP40 submachine guns – proved to be rather tough customers. They tried focusing on as many students as they could, but Todoroki used this opportunity to freeze them in place, leaving only their heads uncovered. All the students moved in to surround them.

“All right, whoever you are, talk: how did you find this place, and who’s the mole you sent here!?” said Deko.

“Go to Hell, Schweinhundchen!” said the head werewolf.

“You first,” said Todoroki. “Unless you’d rather warm up?”

“We’ll never talk!” said another werewolf.

“Will you? This .44 Magnum is not only one of the most powerful handguns in the world, but it’s loaded with special silver core bullets. You have no chance to survive.”

“OK, we’ll talk!” said the head werewolf. “The League of Villains got into contact with one of the students here and told her to report all of your activities back to them!”

Who?

“Her name is Shan! I swear to you, I’m telling the truth!”

Todoroki looked over at Deko, who nodded. He then focused his attention back on the JDR man.

“Very well, we’ll let you live,” said Todoroki. “Don’t expect the council to be so merciful towards you.”

Speaking of the Council, some of their Enforcers moved in to apprehend the Nazis, and Lienda and Louis came to see what was going on.

“How did these men get here!?” said Lienda. “Jessa, Mischa, are you OK?”

Jessa nodded. “We’re fine, Mom.”

“Yeah. Midoriya and her friends were a real help, too!” said Mischa.

Lienda turned towards Deko. “Well, we owe you our sincere thanks!”

Deko smiled. “You’re welcome! Actually, we have some information about the Japanisch-Deutsches Reichskommissariat.”

“Tell us more,” said Louis.

“The mole they have is a girl in this school by the name of Shan.”

“That rotten harpy!” said Jessa. “I knew she was up to no good, but this…”

“Then no doubt Opal is in cahoots with them as well!” said Mischa.

“We’ll deal with them accordingly,” said Lienda. “Midoriya, you and your friends go about your classes in the meantime, and don’t do anything unnecessary, OK?”

Deko nodded. “Right!”

Louis smiled. “Oh, and sorry about the cake earlier!”

Deko smiled. “It’s OK, Louis; you didn’t know! Besides, Todoroki saved people’s lives today!”

Deko gave Todoroki a big hug and kiss, which he gladly returned. After they broke away, Todoroki felt someone tap him on the shoulder.

“IcyHot…” said Kacchan.

“Yes, Bakugo?”

“WHY THE CRAP DO YA HAVE A GUN ON SCHOOL PROPERTY!? AND HOW THE CRAP DID YA GET IT PAST AIRPORT SECURITY!?”

“I have my ways.”

Kacchan let out an angry growl. Even after all this time of being a UA student, he would never understand his classmates.

Chapter 6: Romantic and Platonic

Chapter Text

After supper, Tokoyami was hanging out in their dorm when he heard knocking.

“I’m coming!”

Tokoyami went over to their door and opened it.

“Hi, Tokoyami!”

Chanelle clasped her hands in front of her. She was wearing a white thigh-length dress with dark blue polka dots. Tokoyami smiled:

“Hello, Chanelle. My, don’t you look ravishing!”

Chanelle giggled and blushed. “Tokoyami, you’re too much! May I invite myself in before you kill me with flirting?”

“By all means, please do so.”

Chanelle entered Tokoyami’s dorm, and they closed the door behind them. Both of them went and sat down next to each other on Tokoyami’s bed.

“Why is it so dark in here?” asked Chanelle.

“I very much enjoy dark places, but if it’s that much of a bother for you, I can certainly turn on some lights.”

“Please do.”

Tokoyami opened the blinds on their windows and turned on a light before going to sit back down next to Chanelle.

“So, my dear, what’s on your mind?” asked Tokoyami.

Chanelle put her hand on Tokoyami’s shoulder. “Tokoyami, I wanted to thank you for saving my life today. That was really brave of you to charge at those gunmen like that.”

Tokoyami chuckled. “Think nothing of it! I’ve done far more heroic things than that!”

“But sometimes, even saving one life is the most heroic thing anyone can do!”

Tokoyami nodded. “Fair point. Now then, is there anything else I can do for you?”

“I heard you play guitar. Can you show me?”

“Most certainly!”

Tokoyami took their guitar case and pulled out their guitar, a blue Gibson Les Paul with a nonbinary heart sticker on it. They then plugged it in to a mini amp, a Marshall MS4, and turned it on. They then took a guitar pick.

“Basically, to play the guitar, you press down on the strings on the neck with your opposite hand, and then strike the strings on the bridge with the pick using your dominant hand. Use the frets here on the neck to guide your fingers.”

Tokoyami used their left hand to form a C major chord, and then played a single C note.

“This is a C major chord. If you shift your fingers like this…” Tokoyami changed chords. “…you get a C minor chord. Perhaps the easiest way to teach your fingers to move around the fretboard is the CAGED system, so in order, C…” Tokoyami changed chords. “A, G, E and finally D major.”

Chanelle smiled. “How fascinating! Seems a bit complicated, but I guess I could try it.”

“Playing guitar is easy. You just have to have the will to practice as much as you can. You may try it if you wish.”

Tokoyami handed the Les Paul to Chanelle along with the pick, and once she fingered a C chord, she gently strummed the strings before going into a basic blues groove, which Tokoyami commented on:

“You managed to do a blues shuffle. Quite impressive for a beginner.”

Chanelle shrugged. “I was just experimenting.”

“Regardless, you could become quite the guitarist.”

Chanelle smiled. “Oh, how you flatter me!” She handed the guitar back to Tokoyami. “Could you please play me a song?”

“Certainly.”

Tokoyami played “Somebody to Love”, during which Chanelle was absolutely enraptured. Even if Tokoyami didn’t have the widest vocal range, their baritone singing voice captured Chanelle’s heart.

“Tokoyami…that was the most beautiful thing I’ve heard in my life. You’re so romantic!”

Tokoyami smiled. “Truthfully, I’ve never been much for romance, but you…you somehow lit a fire in my heart.”

Chanelle giggled. “Oh, you!”

Tokoyami shut off the amp and put the Les Paul away. “Now then, was there anything else you wished to do with me?”

Chanelle shrugged. “It’s up to you, really.”

“Then why don’t we snuggle?”

“OK!”

Tokoyami embraced Chanelle from behind, and they laid down on the bed and snuggled. Thus far, Chanelle was the softest, warmest and most cuddly woman that Tokoyami had ever embraced, and it gave them such warm and fuzzy feelings. Similarly, she got her own warm tingliness from having this bird person wrap their arms around her.

“Chanelle, you are the absolute most beautiful girl I’ve ever met.”

Chanelle smiled. “Tokoyami, you’re so sweet! You’re the most handsome bird I’ve ever met!”

“Thank you. You have no idea how good this feels for me right now.”

Chanelle giggled. “This feels good for me, too.”

“Then perhaps this will feel good for you as well…”

Tokoyami leaned over and gave Chanelle a quick smooch on the cheek. Blushing, she turned over and embraced her bird lover, and they began making out with each other, with Tokoyami straddling Chanelle, the black bird’s heart beating ever more wildly as they smooched their big beautiful bunny girl. Then, their little makeout session was interrupted by knocking.

“I’ll get it.”

Tokoyami headed for the door and opened it up.

“Hey Tokoyami!”

Tokoyami smiled. “Ah, hello Jae! Chanelle and I were hanging out. Would you like to join us?”

“Of course! I’m always up for hanging out with my nonbinary brethren!”

Jae entered the dorm, and Tokoyami closed the door behind them.

“I’ve seen you around, but I never got your name…” said Chanelle.

“I’m Jae Stanek. I go by the pronouns they/them.”

Chanelle smiled and waved. “You’re nonbinary too? Hey, I’m Chanelle McMahon, and I go by the pronouns they/them, but I’m also good with she/her.”

Jae gasped “NO WAY! So nice to meet you!”

Chanelle got up from the bed, and Jae gave her a big hug, causing the bunny girl to giggle.

“Jae, I haven’t known you for that long, but I already like you!”

“Awww!”

Jae eventually broke away from the hug.

“So tell me, Tokoyami, now that you’re among two of your enby besties, what’s next on the agenda?” Jae put their hand on their hip.

Tokoyami smiled. “Well, why don’t we watch a movie?”

“Sure! Which one?”

“Have either of you heard of Blackout In Hell?”

Chanelle smiled. “Ohmigosh, that’s one of my favorites!”

Jae scratched their cheek. “Never heard of it.”

“It’s about a nonbinary NYPD detective trying to solve a series of murders during the 1977 New York City blackout while being hunted by a Mafia gang.”

Jae smiled. “Sounds interesting. Let’s do it!”

Tokoyami fired up their PS5 and opened up the movie in Netflix. Jae and Chanelle sat down on the bed on both sides of Tokoyami and laid their heads against the black bird hero’s shoulders.

===

Later that night, Kacchan snuck out of his dorm and went to a secluded hill a ways away from the school. The sky was clear, and the full moon was out along with a bevy of stars. As he sat upon the grassy hill, he reflected on his life, particularly on his time at UA. In particular, he wondered how a girl like Deko could possibly go miles ahead of him when logically, she wasn’t expected to be much more than some goofy nerd with weird hair.

“I thought I’d find you here, Bakugo.”

Kacchan turned around and saw Mischa sitting right next to him.

“WHAT THE CRAP!? HOW THE CRAP DID YA FIND ME UP HERE!?”

“Hey, not so loud! You want the whole school to hear us?”

“I DON’T CARE! I JUST WANNA BE LEFT ALONE!”

Mischa smiled. “You know, if something’s bothering you, you can talk to me about it. I promise I won’t judge!”

Kacchan gave Mischa a mean, nasty glare. Then, he sighed:

Fine. Anyways, you know that girl Deko?”

Mischa nodded. “What about her?”

“Truth be told, I don’t really hate her anymore. It’s just…when we were kids and I first got my Quirk, I used to pick on her for bein’ Quirkless. Then, when we got to UA, she somehow got a Quirk of her own. At first, she couldn’t really use it without breakin’ her bones, but she somehow managed to gain control of it, and I found myself havin’ to work twice as hard to be even half as good as she was. I just felt so useless bein’ less powerful than a freakin’ girl, but then I got captured by the League of Villains, and she came to my rescue, and I…I…”

Kacchan buried his face in his hands and cried his eyes out, causing Mischa to gasp. However, her smile soon returned:

“Hey, it’s OK, big guy! I’m here for you!”

Mischa gave Kacchan a big hug, which he returned. Granted, he hated crying in front of other people, and it made him feel terribly messed up from doing so. However, after all these months of feeling inferior to Deko, not to mention the trauma from being kidnapped by the League of Villains and feeling responsible for All Might’s retirement, all he wanted was for someone to hold him, to tell him that he was a good person and that everything was going to be OK. Regardless, with Mischa embracing him, he felt that much better about himself, like he didn’t have to push other people away. Even feeling messed up about crying, at least it was freeing his soul of the terrible burden that had been plaguing him. With her, he felt he could finally be a good person and not feel like a terrible weakling. Eventually, Kacchan stopped crying, but Mischa continued holding him and gently rubbing his back. He wouldn’t dream of letting her go.

“Mischa, thanks. I…I…god, I feel so messed up right now!”

“Is there anything I can get you to not feel messed up?”

“Please…get me a blanket and a hot cup of tea.”

Mischa pulled out a bottle of Pure Leaf iced tea. “Will this do?”

Kacchan nodded, took the bottle and chugged the tea, after which Mischa handed him a tissue to blow his nose and dry his eyes with.

“Thanks,” said Kacchan.

“You’re welcome!”

Kacchan shook his head. “God, crying sucks so much…”

“But you feel better now, right?”

Kacchan nodded weakly. “Yeah.”

“Well I’m glad, because deep down inside, I know you’re a good person, and you deserve to be loved!”

Kacchan blushed. “Wait…what!?

“Relax, I’m not talking about romance; I mean platonic love!”

“Eh?”

“Think of it this way: when you love somebody platonically, you’re more than just friends, but you’re not boyfriend and girlfriend, get it?”

Kacchan scratched his temple. “I dunno, that seems kinda odd to me, and I already have a girlfriend, but hey, I guess it feels better than bein’ angry all the time.”

Mischa smiled. “See? Love will find a way!”

Kacchan chuckled. “I guess.”

Mischa took Kacchan by the hand and stood up with him.

“So…wanna dance?”

Kacchan smiled. “Ordinarily, I would say ‘no’, but since I actually like ya…what the heck.”

Mischa took out a Bluetooth speaker and whipped out her phone, and she put on “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, after which she danced with Kacchan. While not ordinarily one to be into slow dancing, Kacchan found that it was actually pretty enjoyable. Even if he wasn’t into Mischa romantically, dancing across the grass to such a cosmic song under the starry sky made all his troubles melt away, and he just wanted to stop the world and melt with her. Truly, he felt she made the grade. For the first time in his life, he felt that he’d left the capsule he’d been stuck in for his whole life, and his heart felt as though it was floating in a most peculiar way. If this was what true happiness felt like, he wanted more of it, because he was done being his old angry self. Sure, his Quirk may have been explosive, but that didn’t mean he had to be. After all, heroes were supposed to make people smile, right?

Mischa was sure smiling because of Kacchan. Not only did it give her great satisfaction to cheer him up, but because of that, the stars looked very different today. She felt as though she were floating around a tin can, far above the moon. Though her heart and mind were past 100,000 miles, she was feeling very still. Wherever her spaceship of life was going, she figured she knew which way to go. Even if this blond Bomberanian couldn’t replace Max, he could give her something special that Max couldn’t: a kind of love that was plain, clean and simple, that didn’t need bouquets of roses or boxes of chocolates to be validated. In a way, it was almost like having that cool older brother that she never had. Slowly, those two danced through songs such as “Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft” by The Carpenters, “Faithfully” by Journey and “Shadows in the Moonlight” by Anne Murray before stopping.

“Bakugo, you’re actually a good dancer!” said Mischa.

“Please, call me Kacchan.”

“I’ve heard Deko call you that, but I could never figure out why…”

“It was a childhood nickname she gave me that came from my first name Katsuki. I used to hate when she called me that, but it’s actually kinda cute now that I think about it.”

Mischa giggled. “Well, you should keep it! It is cute!”

“Hey, if you and Deko think it’s cute, I’ll keep it!”

“Awww!”

Mischa gave Kacchan another hug, which he gladly returned. For the first time in his life, he actually felt pure, unadulterated happiness, and he wanted more.

Chapter 7: Can We Survive the Blitzkrieg?

Notes:

I saw the new MHA movie My Hero Academia: You're Next in the theater today, and it ROCKED! Expect something inspired by the movie at some point in the future. Also, thanks to KagamiPINKAgreste, I gave Mischa and Kacchan some much-needed character development.

Chapter Text

The next morning, Kacchan woke up feeling refreshed. In some ways, the events of the previous night felt like a dream, albeit the most pleasant one he’d ever had. Still, he felt bad for how he’d treated Deko, so once he got dressed for the day, he went to find her, and it didn’t take too long:

“Deko…can we talk?”

Deko smiled. “Sure, Kacchan! What’s on your mind?”

“Listen, I…I wanted to apologize to ya for every time I yelled at ya and treated ya like crap. Truth is, I never really hated ya; it’s just, I thought ya were gonna be a Quirkless weakling for the rest of your life, and when I saw ya get your own Quirk, all I could think about was wantin’ to use ya as my own personal punching bag, to knock ya down so I could stay on top. In reality, I was only using myself as a punching bag, beating myself up over my own shortcomings. Ever since ya rescued me from the League of Villains, I wanted to tell ya how I really felt about ya, but with the trauma I suffered from knowin’ that All Might lost his power ‘cause of me, I…I…”

Deko smiled and put her hands on Kacchan’s shoulders. “Kacchan, you don’t need to say anything further. I forgive you for everything! You’re my best friend, and you always will be!”

Kacchan smiled. “Thanks, Deko! Now come on, give your friend Kacchan a hug!”

Kacchan ended up giving Deko a bear hug, causing her to yelp. Despite feeling like her windpipe was being crushed, she returned the hug. Soon, however, she had to speak up:

“Kacchan, I’m glad we made up, but can you please let go now? I feel like I’m in a car compactor!”

“But I love my best friend Deko! You’re my favorite nerd ever!

Deko chuckled nervously. As glad as she was that she and Kacchan were on good footing, she still couldn’t wrap her head around him sometimes. Then, Jessa and Mischa came around.

“Well, this is unexpectedly adorbs!” said Jessa.

“Kacchan, I’m so happy you’re treating Deko so nicely!” said Mischa.

Kacchan let go of Deko. “Well, when ya get a new lease on life, you’re bound to be a nicer guy!”

“Good morning, Bakugo,” said Todoroki. “Why so cheerful today?”

“Well, Todoroki, let’s just say I had a change of heart! I mean, granted, ya still kinda suck, but ya suck that much less now!”

Todoroki smiled. “I didn’t expect you to like me completely.”

Deko chuckled. “Come on, guys, let’s get to class!”

===

Meanwhile, back at JDR HQ, Henkel reported to Regenbogen:

“Herr Reichsführer, I have grim news.”

“What is it, Henkel?”

“The hit squad we sent to eliminate Midoriya and her friends has not only failed, but they have been apprehended by the Supernatural Council, as have our deep cover agents Shan and Opal.”

Regenbogen clenched his fists. “Then there is no question. Contact the League of Villains. Have them head over to Supernatural Academy along with another one of our strike teams. I will tolerate no more failure. Do you understand?”

“Ja, Herr Reichsführer. Heil Hitler!”

Regenbogen and Henkel gave each other the “Hitler Salute”. Things were about to get dangerous at Supernatural Academy.

===

Meanwhile, at the League of Villains’ hideout, the League was moping about when Shigaraki got a call:

“Hello?”

“Herr Shigaraki, this is Regenbogen.”

“Yeah, what do you want?”

“Our attempts to infiltrate Supernatural Academy have been discovered. We must strike immediately if we are to hope to vanquish Midoriya and her friends.”

“I understand. I’ll get the League together at once. Goodbye.”

Shigaraki hung up and turned to Kurogiri.

“Kurogiri, make us a portal to Stratford, Connecticut. We’re going to Supernatural Academy.”

“Right away.”

===

Back in Stratford, things were going normally enough. Deko and co. had put a couple of tables together so they could be with Mischa, Jessa and co. Kacchan eagerly sat next to Mischa, which got Max’s attention:

“Hey there, Mis…wait, why’s Bakugo sitting next to you?” Max frowned. “Wait…you’re not cheating on me with him, are you?”

Mischa smiled. “Relax, Max! Kacchan and I are just platonic soulmates!

Max raised an eyebrow. “Huh, what’s that?”

Kacchan smiled. “So basically, Mischa and I are more than friends, but we’re not boyfriend and girlfriend, get it?”

Max shrugged. “Never heard that concept before, but I’m cool with it. Also, what’s up with Mischa calling you ‘Kacchan’?”

“That was Deko’s – that is, Midoriya’s – childhood nickname for me. I used to hate it, but I kinda like it now.”

Max smiled. “I get it.”

Tokoyami, in the meantime, was absolutely smitten with Chanelle:

“I can hardly believe it. It’s been but two days since we first met, but I feel as though I’ve known you for a lifetime. You truly bring warmth to my heart.”

Chanelle giggled. “Stop it, Tokoyami; you’re making me blush!”

Tokoyami smiled. “Oh? Don’t you like feeling all warm and tingly knowing that you’re found someone with whom you share a mutual attraction?

Chanelle giggled even harder and playfully pushed Tokoyami. “Oh you!

Deko smiled as she watched Tokoyami and Chanelle socialize. However, her happiness was rudely interrupted when she heard a klaxon going off, and then Lienda made an announcement over the PA system:

“Attention students, there are intruders on the campus. Please file into the underground bunkers in an orderly fashion. The Council is working to keep the situation under control and will have things taken care of soon. Thank you for your understanding.”

Of course, rather than running from danger as they were ordered, Team Midoriya and Team Lebron ran towards it. Sure enough, when they got outside, they not only found the League of Villains waiting for them, but the JDR. The Council Enforcers were doing their best to combat the villains, but it was clear that they were outnumbered here…well, not anymore now that the main heroes were on scene.

“Achtung!” exclaimed one of the JDR troopers. “It’s Midoriya! GET HER!”

A number of villains set their sights on Deko, who proved too fast for them to catch. Todoroki, however, wasn’t one to let anyone attack his lovely green girlfriend, so after creating an ice shield, he opened fire with a Smith & Wesson M76 submachine gun. However, Todoroki’s was unique in that it was chambered for 10mm Auto and had a CNC-machined aluminum bolt for a faster rate of fire, perfect for dealing extra pain to the villains. Speaking of the villains, seeing that Todoroki was spraying them down, some of them turned on him. Fortunately for the bicolor boy, Jessa and Brax were there to help with their Dragon powers. Seeing these powers proved to be quite exciting for Himiko Toga:

“Ooh, I’ve never seen heroes with Dragon Quirks before! Their blood will be so tasty!

Toga fired off her syringes at Jessa and Brax, but Tokoyami jumped in to block them with Dark Shadow.

“WHAT THE…!?” exclaimed Toga.

“Surrender now, villain, while I still have mercy!” said Tokoyami.

“I’ll take care of this chicken!” said Dabi.

Dabi shot flames at Tokoyami, but while he was distracted, Max snuck up on him and sunk his fangs into him.

“HEY, GET OFFA ME!”

Having turned his attention to Max, Dabi was severely limited in what he could do. Meanwhile, Twice was helping out some JDR troopers with his cloning technique, not knowing that his Quirk would be rendered useless thanks to one of Terra’s techniques:

“Jae, there’s the real one! Get him!”

Jae used her fairy powers to shoot a bolt of magic at Twice, paralyzing him and reducing all of his clones to mud. However, she ended up having to dodge gunfire from some JDR troopers, one of whom was lugging around an MG 42 machine gun. The mighty “Hitler’s Buzzsaw” would’ve proven nasty to her, had Chanelle not snuck up on the big guy and delivered a powerful rabbit kick to him. Doing so, however, alerted his fellow Nazis to her:

“DU SCHWEINFRAU!”

Chanelle dispatched a couple more of those right-wing goons before retreating to safety at Sonic speeds. Mr. Compress attempted to dispatch her with some steel beams he’d shrunk with her marbles, but she dodged those with ease, and he got a nasty surprise when Tsu ensnared him with her tongue.

“What are you doing!? Untie me at once, you revolting reptile!”

Tsu ignored him and hurled him far away in a Team Rocket-esque manner, while Uraraka had levitated the steel beams and flattened a bunch of villains with them. Tsu went over and high-fived her.

“Good going, girlfriend!” said Tsu.

Uraraka chuckled. “Awww, you’re too kind!”

“LESS GIRLY SHIT AND MORE KICKIN’ ASS!”

Kacchan blew up a bunch of Nazis, including one who attempted to blow up the heroes with a Panzerschreck. A sniper with a Gewehr 43 attempted to blow his brains out, but Mischa threw the Nazi wolf’s aim off by biting his arm. Overall, things looked to be going well for the heroes.

Then, when things attempted to be turning in the heroes’ favor, another player appeared: Elda herself, a girl with turquoise skin, dark purple eyes and short, dark purple hair cut into a wide, messy bob. Owing to her new allegiance, she too was wearing an SS uniform.

“So, you’re the interlopers who were sent here to defend Supernatural Academy! No matter, I’ll kill you just the same!”

Elda let loose a burst of flames, which Todoroki blocked using an ice shield, but judging by how the ice was melting, he knew that the flames were too hot, so he sprayed her with his M76, only for her to bring up a shield that blocked his bullets.

“You really believe that guns are going to work against me? HA! You’re so stupid! Try this on for size!”

Elda fired a superheated ball of plasma at Todoroki, who managed to get out of the way in time, and while Elda was using her shield to block his bullets, she got a mess of sticky mucus from Tsu.

“Ewww, GROSS!”

“That’ll teach you to further the cause of fascism, ribbit!”

Elda growled. “You’ll pay for that, you rotten reptile!”

Elda attempted to fire an ice blast at Tsu, but Tokoyami unleashed Dark Shadow on the younger Kristov while she was distracted. Dark Shadow managed to bite her on the shoulder and do some damage, but it was clear that she was still going:

“You…YOU’LL PAY FOR THAT, YOU OVERSIZED CHICKEN!”

Will I? You Nazis think you’re the harbingers of the darkness, but you don’t know what darkness is!”

“HA! Even darkness has its weaknesses!”

Elda charged up a ball of light, but before she could fire it, Zadi attacked her in her lion form and started tearing her apart, but the young Kristov managed to kick her away, causing her to transform into her human form.

“Zadi…YOU FILTHY TRAITOR! How could you betray the Fourth Reich!?”

“Sorry, Elda, but I can’t stand idly by as you support those who killed six million of my ancestors in the Shoah!”

Elda gasped when she realized that Zadi was Jewish. “No…IT CAN’T BE! DIE, YOU FILTHY JEW SCUM!”

Elda attempted to charge up a fire attack, but Todoroki picked up an MG 42 that one of the JDR troopers dropped and sawed Elda in half with 1,200 rounds per minute worth of 7.92mm death.

“Zadi, are you all right!?”

“Yeah, thanks Todoroki!”

“That woman, she betrayed us!” exclaimed a JDR trooper. “GET HER!”

Thus, some of the Nazis turned on Zadi as well. In the chaos, a shadowy form appeared in the aftermath of a fire blast from Todoroki. Shortly thereafter, Regenbogen appeared. He was a black werewolf wearing an SS officer’s uniform, and his arms had formed into knives. The Council Enforcers ganged up on him and attempted to stop him, but his liquid metal body simply reformed after taking their attacks, and he literally cut them down. Todoroki fired at him with his MG 42, but again, this proved useless as the bullet holes resealed.

“Todoroki, bullets won’t work against him!” said Deko. “We need to try something else!”

Todoroki threw down the MG 42. “I would, but I don’t want to risk hitting our allies!”

“I would.”

Todoroki turned around and saw that Henkel had unfused from the ice shield that Todoroki had created. Henkel attempted to punch Todoroki and fuse with him, but Todoroki jumped out of the way, and in one swift motion, he whipped out his Model 29 and blew Henkel’s head clean off.

As for Deko, she was going after Regenbogen himself. It was difficult to sort Steel Wolf from the rest of the carnage, but after knocking aside some more JDR troopers, she came upon the liquid metal freak.

(One For All, Full Cowling, 20%!) “DETROIT SMASH!”

Deko aimed a real haymaker at Steel Wolf, who turned around just in time to see her upon him. She managed to connect, but of course, it only turned him into liquid metal, and once he re-formed, he couldn’t help but turn his attention to her:

“So…you’re Izuko Midoriya. Smaller than I thought. No matter; I’ll take pleasure in your death.”

“I’d like to see you try, Steel Wolf!”

And so, Deko and Steel Wolf engaged in their own little dance of death, with the latter trying to stab her with his sword arms and the former trying to avoid them as she sent super-powered punches and kicks at him, neither side willing to cede an inch of ground.

(Regular attacks aren’t working against him! Let’s try this…) “DELAWARE SMASH!”

With a powerful blast of air, Deko managed to knock Steel Wolf off of his feet, but only briefly, for the head Nazi simply rearranged his body to land on his feet.

“You’ll have to do better than that if you wish to defeat me, you impure swine!”

“Hey, I’m not the one who gained her powers through some sick, twisted experiment!”

“You call it ‘sick and twisted’; I call it ‘racial superiority’. But enough talk; I want to see you die!

Steel Wolf ran at Deko really fast, as did she, only once she got to him, she slid feet-first at him and attempted to dodge under him, but he countered by trying to stab her. He missed for the most part, but managed to graze her. She aimed a flying roundhouse kick at him, but when it connected, his body simply melted around the area where the kick landed and allowed it to go through just enough for it to get caught, after which he shifted his body to the point where he’d caught his ankle in his hands and slammed her against the ground repeatedly. Sure, Deko was used to taking some nasty hits, but even so, with the amount of force Steel Wolf was delivering against her, she felt like she wanted to pass out. Still, she held tough and broke his hold on her with another Delaware Smash. After clambering to her feet, she charged up another Delaware Smash and blew droplets of him all around.

“That oughta stop him for now. I should check up on the others.”

Deko ran back to where the rest of the battle was going on, and judging by how things looked, it appeared that the tide had turned in favor of the heroes. However, she got a really nasty surprise when unbeknownst to her, Steel Wolf had not only reformed himself quickly, but managed to catch up to her, grab her by the nape of her neck and hurl her against a building, knocking her almost senseless.

(Come on, get up! GET UP!)

Just as Deko got to her feet, Steel Wolf grabbed her by the throat, slammed her against the building and stabbed her in the right shoulder. Deko was a tough girl, having broken many bones due to using too much of One For All’s power in the past, but this pain was something else. She let out a sharp cry of pain as the metal blade buried itself through her flesh.

“Call to your friends,” said Steel Wolf.

Staring into Steel Wolf’s vicious amber eyes, Deko was too scared to do anything but whimper as tears filled her eyes. Meanwhile, Steel Wolf pointed his right index finger at her eye and formed it into its own stabbing weapon, extending it until it was mere inches from her eye.

“I know this hurts. Call to your friends now.”

Deko continued whimpering. “N-no…”

“You can make this stop. Just call to your friends and I’ll spare your life. That’s an order, Untermensch.”

In that moment, Deko felt something come over her: while still in the grip of fear, she was having visions, visions of a mad tyrant with a toothbrush moustache trying to bring Germany back from the brink of defeat in his own mad way, people mindlessly attending the Nuremberg rallies, simultaneously shouting “Sieg Heil!” while giving that damn salute, Panzers blitzkrieging through European countries that had done little – if anything – to warrant the tyrant’s wrath, but worst of all, the memories of the six million Jews who died in such places as Dachau, Treblinka, Sobibor, Bergen-Belsen and especially Auschwitz, not to mention the memories of the other six million who were considered unfit by the Nazi regime: Roma, the mentally challenged, the members of the LGBTQ+ community and Spanish Republicans, among others. Hearing those people scream for their lives all at once, Deko’s fear changed into pure, unbridled rage, and even if it would prove useless, she had to show that she was no submissive cream puff. Gritting her teeth, she gave Steel Wolf the best retort she could think of:

“Fuck you!”

Steel Wolf paused briefly, and then let out the most vicious wolf growl he could muster up as he prepared to kill Deko. Just then, a cannon-like blast sounded as Steel Wolf’s head got blown clean off.

“STAY AWAY FROM MY GIRLFRIEND, YOU NAZI PUNK MOTHERFUCKER!”

Todoroki was standing behind them with his Model 29 drawn, albeit standing carefully so as not to make the .44 round go through Deko’s head as well. Even if Steel Wolf’s head did reform, he took his stabby arm out of her shoulder and proceeded to charge at Todoroki instead.

(Good, that got his attention. Now, I just hope I can do this in time…) “FLASHFREEZE HEATWAVE!”

Todoroki aimed another superheated blast of cold air at Steel Wolf, hoping he could unleash it in time. Fortunately, not only did it connect with deadly precision, but Steel Wolf let out a most agonizing scream as his molecular bonds were severely weakened to the point where they could no longer effectively sustain his life functions, and when the smoke cleared, he was no more than a bunch of smoking-hot chunks of solidified burnt metal. Shigaraki – having witnessed the death of Steel Wolf – knew what to do:

“Ladies and gentlemen, this isn’t worth it. Let’s get out of this dump.”

Those members of the League who were able to made a hasty exit with Kurogiri, while any members of the JDR who hadn’t been beaten to a pulp or shot to pieces threw down their weapons and surrendered, and the Council Enforcers moved in to apprehend them.

“Deko!”

Todoroki hurried over to Deko, who was panting as she was clutching the spot where she was stabbed.

“Deko, how are you feeling?”

“Todoroki…I…you saved my life!”

Deko broke down crying as she gave Todoroki a big, cuddly hug. Even if he would never get used to her crying, it made him feel good knowing that he could be there for her. Meanwhile, all the other students and teachers gave a collective “awww” as they beheld how those two loved each other. Mission accomplished.

Once the injured had had their wounds patched up and the damage was being cleaned up, Lienda gave her thanks to Deko and co.:

“I don’t know how we can possibly thank you. You’ve done us a great service here!”

Deko bowed. “It’s an honor. Your students did an admirable job as well, and it was fun getting to know Mischa and Jessa.”

Jessa smiled. “It was fun getting to know you too, Deko!”

“Yeah, totally!”

“To be honest, I’m gonna miss you when you’re gone.”

Deko smiled. “It’s OK, Jessa! If you and Mischa wanna stay in contact with me, here’s my phone number and E-mail…

Deko exchanged contact information with Jessa and Mischa.

“Thanks!” said Jessa and Mischa.

Deko smiled. “You’re welcome.”

Chanelle cried and hugged Tokoyami. “Ahhh, I don’t wanna leave my big beautiful birdie!”

Tokoyami smiled and hugged Chanelle back. “Fear not, my big beautiful bunny. We needn’t be completely apart; I can give you my phone number, E-mail and Instagram contact info.”

Chanelle gasped. “You’d do that? For me?

“Anything for the most beautiful girl in the world!”

Chanelle smiled. “Awww, you’re so sweet!”

Chanelle wrapped her arms around Tokoyami and kissed them, and they gladly returned the gesture, which got Deko and Todoroki smiling. Deko – whose injuries had been healed thanks to Louis’ help – turned to Todoroki:

“Thanks again for saving my life, Cutieroki!”

“You’re always welcome, Deko, and thanks for saving mine!”

“You’re welcome, too!”

Just then, Deko pulled out her phone and Bluetooth speaker, after which she put on “Dance Little Lady Dance” by Tina Charles. She then held hands with Todoroki:

“May I have one last dance before we go home?”

Todoroki smiled. “Always!”

Deko and Todoroki proceeded to dance with each other. Seeing this, Mischa danced with Max, Jessa danced with Brax, and everyone got down one last time before the UA Six had to go home. Once again, the forces of the free world had triumphed over the evils of Nazism.

Chapter 8: Froppy Facts

Chapter Text

Tsu was at the International Museum of World War II in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, dressed in a Waffen-SS uniform:

“Hi there, everybody, it’s Tsuyu Asui, aka ‘Froppy’, and I’m here to give you a few facts about the Nazi ‘Werwolf’ program. In 1944, as the Allies were advancing through German lines, the Nazis created a plan to have a resistance force combat the Allies in conjunction with the regular German forces. It was believed that this plan and subsequent broadcasts of guerrilla activities were created by Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, although the actual operation was initiated by SS leader Heinrich Himmler. However, even before ‘Operation Werwolf’ was initiated, rumors of a secret Nazi guerrilla organization began to surface. Goebbels himself gave a speech called the ‘Werwolf Speech’ on March 23, 1945, in which he urged every German to fight to the death. This, combined with the partial dismantling of the actual Werwolf organization, caused considerable confusion about which attacks were carried out by Werwolf or smaller groups of fanatical Nazis. There was also a radio station called ‘Radio Werwolf’, which was said to not be connected with the actual Werwolf organization.

When it was founded, the Werwolf organization had about 5,000 recruits drawn from the SS and Hitler Youth, and actual front companies were established, but all of them were discovered and shut down within eight months. Furthermore, given the lack of suitable equipment, ultimately, it was argued by historians Anthony Beevor and Earl F. Ziemke that Werwolf posed little actual threat to the Allies, though certain attacks after the surrender of Germany were attributed to Werwolf, including the destruction of the US Military Government Police HQ in Bremen. Despite its ineffectiveness, Professor Perry Biddiscombe argued that Werwolf caused tens of millions of dollars worth of property damage and killed thousands of people.”
