   Summary

   The pain of his arms being lowered shocks Jack into consciousness. Or, the not-pain. He can tell that it should hurt, that it does on some level, but the rush of agony never comes. Some magic of adrenaline or brain chemistry blocks it from his foggy awareness, and he’s grateful - or, maybe he’s about to die from shock.

   Jack loses consciousness in the barren Wasteland. He wakes up in the scrappy world outside of the Citadel, in the type of place he used to call nowhere. He wakes up again, really wakes up, years later.
