the “god” that had brought him all this way took a couple steps forward, unsheathing a sword that resembled the darkheart vaguely. “this is where it ends. here, and…”

Ice stared in horror up at the shadow that has threatened his life, claiming to have brought him everything. Their false Darkheart emanated power, despite seemingly not even being close to the actual sword. Their gaze looked almost pitying.

He took a few careful steps back, glancing behind him to see that Poison and Firebrand are.. hiding. Instead of helping him.

He was gonna die. He was gonna die and all his effort would be wasted.

The god lunged at him, screeching. He unsheathed his sword quickly and used it to deflect the god's attack. They swung at his legs, hoping to unbalance the king. They fucking miss, by the way.

Ice swung again, but the god was swift, stepping back to avoid the slash before swinging at his unguarded side. He hissed in pain, looking as blood seeped from his ribs.

He quickly leapt back into action, attempting to rush the god but ended up just getting bitch slapped by the flat of a sword. Oh, I'm gonna die here, aren't I?

“Yes, you are!!” The god responded cheerfully. “I can't read minds but you're the main character. Practically everyone can tell what the main character thinks.”

He looked very confused but was snapped out of it by the god’s false Darkheart slashing him in the gut. He groaned, stumbling back and dropping his sword.

He looked up at the god, the person who was going to end his life, here and now. It was inevitable.

The final blow was dealt. The false Darkheart drove deep into Ice’s chest, his icy blue blood bubbling from his new deep wound.

Maybe in another universe, he would survive.

Maybe.
