Work Text:

Bek had never been a fan of clubbing. The bright lights, crowds of people and loud music just weren't what she enjoyed and at 26 it was understandable that she would choose to stay home. She was perfectly content with hearing the retellings that would come the following day.

This day especially, Bek had made up her mind. Everyone else would go out and she would make her own way home and that is the way it would be. She knew that Toby would try his hardest to convince her to come but by now Bek was used to lightly letting him down in favour of her slightly more sensible ways.

Even after she'd spent the evening drinking wine, slowly slipping away, she still knew that everything would go as she had planned. That was until Lexie appeared.

Lexie knew that she'd be able to make Bek come out. It didn't matter how stubborn Bek was being, Lexie was more stubborn. She started small and indirect in her actions to convince her friend, holding her hand gently and making eye contact. Bek was used to Lexie being this way, it was just the way she was, but it didn't mean she didn't still feel some small butterflies in her stomach.

Bek took a deep breath, preparing to give her final no before saying her goodbyes and heading home, but Lexie had other plans. She gently pulled Beky's face towards hers and held it there forcing Bek to make the eye contact she was so desperately avoiding. Still Bek once again pulled away and laughed off flustered feeling building up inside her.

In one final ditch attempt to convince Bek to come, Lexie turned away from the camera, covering her mouth to everyone except Beky and whispered to her:
"If you come, maybe we can have some time, just us?"

Bek let out a defeated sigh but with a smile on her face, the butterflies in her stomach began fluttering frantically and she knew she'd regret it if she didn't come out with everyone and take Lexie up on her offer.

"I'll pay your entry, please come," Lexie said, still unsure if she had successfully convinced Beky,
"Chat should I come?" Bek asked already knowing that a flurry of 'YES' would fill the chat box instantaneously.
"Come on then, we need to go." hurried Lexie but not before Beky could pour herself another glass of the sweet rosé she'd been drinking all night, preparing for the chaotic events that would inevitably unfold.

Lexie thought that leading her group of relatively drunk friends through Brighton must be similar to herding cats and even as she tried to concentrate on making sure that everyone was where they were supposed to be, her mind kept on drifting back to Bek. She'd always found Beky gorgeous and maybe tonight was the night she might be able to do something about it. Convincing Bek to come out was only testing the waters but Lexie's friend was sufficiently flustered by it to suggest there was some form of reciprocation.

At long last, everyone had made it into the club and Lexie could take this time to recollect herself before finding Beky to pull her aside. Lexie gently clasped Bek's hand and pulled her up the stairs and onto the terrace of the club where everything was slightly quieter and they were away from the prying eyes of the camera.

"So is this what you were promising? A peaceful moment on the terrace of the club?" Bek asked, a slight smirk on her face,
"I mean, if that's what you want, but I was thinking of something slightly different.." Lexie responded a glint in her eyes, alternating looking into Beky's eyes and down at her lips.
"What were you thinking then?" said Bek with a look of mock innocence in her eyes,
"I was thinking I might like to kiss you.. if you'd want that too of course."

Bek didn't reply instead reaching up and careful kissing Lexie, it was nice and Lexie could taste the rosé on the shorter girl's lips. Lexie let her hands reach into Beky's hair and she turned her around to push her up against the wall behind them.

Beky could feel her heart beating much faster and the previously small and delicate butterflies seemed to have very quickly increased in size. She'd never properly thought about what it would be like to kiss Lexie but she knew this was far better than she could've imagined. Bek placed her hands on the back of Lexie's neck trying to pull her in even closer than she already was.

Eventually they pulled apart and Bek felt her cheeks flush red under the Lexie's smirking gaze.
"I think we ought to head back and find everyone else, so they know we're okay," Lexie grinned,
"Oh yeah, probably." Bek said in response a content smile on her face.

Notes:

ty for reading, i wrote this based of of day 43 of the tubbathon, when they go clubbing for Coy' birthday, the start of this is pretty accurate i'd say, but i took a few creative liberties towards the end :3

If you want to watch the clip this is based on, its right at the end of day 43, part 3 at roughly 4hrs 11mins
