Narnia ruins his own life

Summary:

Had a thought about Chapter 365 of the manga. Have not read past that yet, but I still feel this needs to be said. Narnia just shot himself in the foot. This is just me explaining how.

Chapter Text

So I’ve just read chapter 365, and man, Narnia is in for a world of hurt. Quick recap, Iruma is testing for rank 6 under the supervision and on the land of a 13 crown, the King Maker (who likes him now). He’s just helped the Many Ears sign a contract with the Crown of Lust, Azz’s mom (who seems to like him) for a lot of money. His grandfather is a Crown, as is his private tutor. That’s 4 Crowns.

His grandfather is friends with the other Great Three, who’s grandsons are also going to be testing soon. Narnia is interfering with the tests. Highly doubt they’ll like or approve of this. 6 Crowns.

Ameri just had a Rank 7 test, and Narnia’s actions reek of cou. Possibly 7 Crowns.

He also has a loose connection to the other Crowns through his classmates and their tutors.

How many do you need before the Court of Crowns decide you’re too uppity for your britches and need to move down a peg? There are only 13, and he’s guaranteed 6.5! Remember you CAN lose Ranks.

Also, Narnia only has his position because Iruma convinced them to break tradition and make a third seat.

I doubt Baal will come to his aid if the rest of the court is roughly unanimous, but then he does have his godly patrion. Though he would likely resent the need to use it for this. And again, I don’t see the rest of the court approving of Narnia’s actions. Guy invaded one Crown’s territory and recked a very profitable contract of another.

Chapter 2: The Hypocrisy of Adults

Summary:

A bit more rambling, fic ideas at the end

Chapter Text

Ok so. This was meant to be a one shot, just to dump some thoughts. (I can’t use Tumblr or I’ll get sucked down the rabbit hole and never leave wonderland.) However! I would like to point out how hypocritical demons are.

We’re told repeatedly that ranks are the be all end all of the netherworld. Ami-cop goes off on the many ears for daring to question him because he’s so far above. And yet! When a 13 Crown makes him bow to Iruma, he decides it’s more important to stick to your guns and up hold you personal principals. When it’s already been established that the ranking system is one of said principles?

I know no one thing is a monolith. That we as complex beings contain multitudes. And it’s reasonable to think the same of these demons. Still, I feel there’s a lot of hypocrisy from the adults. But then, such is life.

Ramblings aside, Henry just started a civil war. The actions of him and Narnia will split DBP and the Crowns will end up picking sides. I don’t think it will be completely one side, (as that makes for a dull narrative,) especially with Baal’s patron deity.

Narnia’s interference and Mephisto‘s defense are sure to be polarizing to the rest, and with Poro protecting Ituma’s attacker from the heartbreaker … maybe allies and favors were called in after it failed.

Also I have an idea for a fic if anyone skilled at writing was interested. Iruma is exposed and flees to the Crown One. His classmates think he’s there to say goodbye and are prepared to tearfully see him off. He explains no, DBP will steal my memories, and I’ll go back to being my parents doormat. Much rather you guys eat me here and now so I can stay, if not in your heart, at least in you stomachs.

If you’d like something less angsty, I got the feel that Iruma uses the Guardian’s feathers because he helped the baby and they’re grateful. But what if it’s because he bled on baby?

There’s no secret that Iruma will be demon king. This is a story about the how we get there, not where are we going. The prophecy says:
He shall make one and all his servants.
He shall form blood pacts and heal all demonkind.
He shall descend from a foreign realm
And wear the golden ring of Solomon on his right hand.
What if giving his blood and healing made a blood pack, binding what ever the Guardian and baby are. He also used blood in the summoning ritual on Eggy-sensai, twice.

What if DBP stops the eating of humans not to protect them, but to keep blood packs from forming. The idea is Ami-senpai takes a bite out of Iruma, and is then beholden to him. So he has to listen when told off. No one is happy about this.
