Chapter Text

When Hua Cheng disappeared all of the heavens felt it all the gods and ghost could hear it, the screaming if the now emperor of the heavens and ghosts. The only once who came close to them were their friends Feng Xin and Mu Qing

"Your Highness please you need to move... " said the worried Feng Xin.

Mu Qing calls out to Xie Lian, "your Highness we need to see if everything is okay with the others... "

They gave him a second to compose themself once they did they weren't the some as yesterday they were cold like a peace was messing and there was.

They go to the mortal capital to see how they are all going and when Xie Lian see that they are all go and are doing go have Feng Xin and Mu Qing help with the resentful spirits. They take Ban Yue and goes back to ghost city to Paradise Manor and there they see their adopted daughter like Ban Yue, Xiao Meilian once Su Yuansang.

Xiao Meilian is trying to calm down all the ghosts in ghost city, when they see that Xie Lian is there they all go to the prince asking what is going on and where is their Crimson Rain Sought Flower. And the prince tells them that Hua Cheng was going to gone for some time and no he doesn't know when he will be back.

For the first year Xie Lian goes back and forth between ghost city their house on Mt. Taicang and Puqi Shrine with Ban Yue sometime Ban Yue stays with Xiao Meilian.

After two months Xie Lian learns to fake it again the smiling the laughing only one smile was real and that was when Ban Yue and Xiao Meilian see each for the first time once more Xiao Meilian taught her magic.

It was adorable his daughters see the other as a sister

"Jiejie I can see you again!" Ban Yue said, crying and hugging her big sister.

"Meimei you look good this time! A-Yue how are you?" Said Xiao Meilian hugging her little sister back.

"I'm doing fine Jiejie how are you have you been busy?" Said Ban Yue, Xie Lian sits and watch from afar seeing how much they love one another and they smile for the first time since Hua Cheng disappeared.

When they sit down for dinner that night having talked all day and walking on the  garden in Paradise Manor and there in the garden has all of Xie Lian's favorite flowers, for the first time Xie Lian can not make himself eat here were they and their San Lang eat and talk so easily and now... Will he will come back he promised.

Xiao Meilian seeing this asks if he would like to walk in the garden by himself, and think this will be a good idea he does.

And oh how the flowers are all beautiful and then he see white flowers the some ones that Hong-er gave him and Hua Cheng in his Temple here in ghost city and he crys but not loud this time quiet like he's afraid of somebody hearing him not wanting to scare his daughters they sob quietly once he is done they go to Hua Cheng's room and that night he sleeps in his bed.

The next day Pei Ming calls for him and that the heavens need him so he goes and the vengeful spirits are almost all gone with the gods helping it goes by quicker but the gods need somewhere to start making the heavens again so with nothing and no one using it Xie Lian let's them use Xianle.

But the Palace of Xianle is his. And no one is going to fight with him on it Feng Xin and Mu Qing say that they will have their Palace next to his so they can come and have tea and talk when he needs it or when they do.

When they have a trial for Ling Wen Xie Lian is the judge with an open trial they all find out why she did what she did and Xie Lian gives her one cursed shackle to limit her use of her abilities.

That was a few months in to the first year of Hua Cheng disappearance everybody's walking on eggshells around Xie Lian now they all know that he is a lot more powerful then he seems and with his beloved gone he is more serious in meetings, in missions, and the trial there only one trial for the first few months then the 5th months there had to be a other and Xie Lian was not happy about it.

"Your Majesty, I have done nothing wrong this ghosts are lying. I'm a God why do I need a ghost female has a partner." This random nobody god say this in disgust and the 'Your Majesty' was so fake. And then he thinks having a ghost as a partner as a bad thing, and that is what ticked off the prince now the nobody will get what is coming for him.

"General say what you said again." no one has ever heard Xie Lian's voice this cold before they all took a step back except for the idiot general.

"Of course your Majesty, I said 'have done nothing wrong this ghosts are lying. I'm a God why do I need a ghost female has a partner.' Your Majesty."

"Ruoye." Said Xie Lian calling for the ribbon, the ribbon binds the general to the ground. And Xie Lian stands up from his thrown walking down the stairs they're not as large as Jun Wu's was of course but it took one minute to get down.

Xie Lian is now over this general all the gods and ghosts shrink back in fear when they see the glint in his eyes.

"General. What did you do wrong?" Asked Xie Lian, the general shook his head about to tell everyone that he did nothing wrong but he did. And Xie Lian is tired of listening to him.

Cutting him off Xie Lian says "I'll just tell you, you harass these poor women, and you insulted having a ghost as a partner. Then you acted like you didn't."

"Your punishment will be helping everybody rebuild their palaces with no spiritual power. Then when you are done with that I will have to tend to my gardens, my gardens aren't so simple you see, and you will not have any spiritual powers either. If the flowers don't take you out I will."

And with a snap of their fingers, all of the general spiritual powers were gone, and the third month after Hua Cheng disappearance, Xie Lian started a garden in his palace and around his palace  all the flowers are different types of flowers  some deadly to mortals some not  but one very specific plant is deadly to gods, mortals, ghosts and all of the in betweens.

"take him away." Said Xie Lian, some Gods take the nobody away and Ruoye comes backs to Xie Lian wrapping around Xie Lian comforting him.

Feng Xin and Mu Qing come to stand next to the prince.

Mu Qing asks "do you want to go have tea at your favorite tea house?"

"Yes please... " said Xie Lian all the gods leave when the nobody god is dragged away they all know that Xie Lian doesn't want to see them now and they all have something to do all of a sudden.

Ban Yue and Xiao Meilian meet them there from the call Mu Qing gives to them they all take their seats they all orders tea and sweets and snacks to go with their tea.

Ban Yue ask Mu Qing "Er-Shu how is your palace? Going I asked Da-Shu last week."

Mu Qing looks at her and says, "it's going good A-Yue thank you for asking, unlike some people." When Ban Yue hears the first part she smiles at him. He says the last part glaring at Feng Xin.

"What? I see your palace ever day? I saw at this morning on my daily run?" Feng Xin asked confused.

"Mu Qing, let's try not to fight day?" Asked Xie Lian sounding tired.

Mu Qing looks at him from across the table "okay your Highness." Ban Yue and Xiao Meilian and sitting on either side of Xie Lian and Feng Xin is sitting next to Mu Qing.

"A-Die how is your garden coming long?" Asked Xiao Meilian, Xie Lian turns his head to the left.

"It's going good I have a few now flowers I planted this morning it's so nice that I can touch flowers again and plants but mainly flowers." They said when they had their cursed shackles on when they tried to touch flowers, they would all wither and rot away. But they do not have them anymore and can touch and grow flowers at well now like all this centuries ago.

"That great Bāba! If you and if I have time maybe you can take me to go see it?" Asked Xiao Meilian. At that Xie Lian give a small but happy smile.

"Of course A-Sang I would love to." Said the prince and for the first time a long time all of them see Xie Lian happy even if a little. And to that it makes Mu Qing and Feng Xin smile to and of course the girls to but when they're with they're dad they are allows smiling.

"I would love to see it to A-Die!" Said now very happy Ban Yue seeing this Xie Lian laughs a little and they all are looking at him in shocked this is the first real laugh from the prince in 5 mouths when he was with Hua Cheng.

"Of course A-Yue I have some of your favorite flowers there." They all talk and drink their tea and have their snacks and sweets. Feng Xin and Mu Qing go back to the heavens and Xie Lian, Ban Yue, and Xiao Meilian go back to ghost city for the night

One month later there is an other trial in the heavens and it is for a goddess this time a goddess who was killing mortal woman who worship her husband and all the gods and goddesses get to meet some one know for this trial.

Someone is sitting on the princes thrown it's not the prince but a goddess no one has seen, one that looks a lot like the prince then Feng Xin and Mu Qing walk in and seeing the person on the thrown they freeze then in unison say.

"Your Majesty" and kneel on the ground  the rest of the gods and goddesses did not know that this was indeed an fact the prince so, they did not kneel and greet them but now they do and they are all shocked the prince or princess how's never taking their female form but for this trial it seems right in some way.

"Feng Xin, Mu Qing get up, I've already told you not to do that." Their voice was colder than usual frosty almost like they didn't want to be there, but they're living for it. Once Feng Xin and Mu Qing get up they walk to their place by the throne standing next to their highness with an empty chair sitting next to Xie Lian.

"Yu Mianfang. You are here to tell your side of the story and I have some ghost to you telling their side of the story after you. They had come to ghost city to seek shelter from the likes of you, so now I speak." Yu Mianfang who has been standing in the middle of the courtroom for all this time with her husband standing next to her.

"Yes your Majesty. When I saw how many women where worshipping my husband Su Hecheng I got outraged and I questioned him, he would not answer, so I went down to them and they told me that he and them are having a relationship and that he never mentioned having a wife and that I was his sister. I-" she was cut off by Xie Lian holding up their hand to stop her.

" if your grievance was with your husband, then you should have tooken it out on him and come to me to ask for a divorce that I would allow. But you instead kill these innocent woman, who didn't even know that you existed into the picture?" when you put down their hand, they allowed her to speak again.

"Will you see your Majesty this all happened under the previous emperor, and he did not allow me... And he gave me the idea that this would be the best option that I would stop him in the future... Which is wrong, and I know that now please punish me as you see fit..." She said and hang her head in shame.

"Ah. I see so Jun Wu said this would be the best option, and then not only that, but you continue to do it after he was long dead? Now that's just idiotic we also have some male ghost here saying that you also had relations with them and then kill them. So why are you lying to me." she looked up petrified. And her husband just stared at her shocked.

"I wasn't even cheating on you. And this is how you are pay me?" Said Su Hecheng. "I'm so sorry your Majesty for troubling you with this but I have done nothing wrong here and my 'wife' has not once beded with me."

"Hmm. Okay there is going to be looked in to as will and so will the ghosts with us Mu Qing call for Ling Wen so she can know who is lying and not for now the rest of you will leave and I will call for you all later when we know every thing." Once all the gods hear this they start to leave Mu Qing calls Ling Wen and Feng Xin takes Yu Mianfang to a back room to keep her there as they talk to Su Hecheng and the ghosts.

Once they have all the evidence they need they call back the Gods and Goddesses to get this over with. With the evidence Yu Mianfang was guilt.

"Yu Mianfang. I see to that you and all that know of this are to be killed it will be a fast death. And you Su Hecheng will be fine you have done nothing wrong. Mu Qing." Once hearing his name Mu Qing goes and takes Yu Mianfang and the ones who know to the room they will be killed in.

"General Ming Guang. Please come with me to witness the deaths." As they say this they are getting up from their thrown and then telling Feng Xin to stay and to make sure no one leaves. Then going into the room Mu Qing take the guilty. Pei Ming opens the door for them and then once the princess is in the room he walks into the room closing the door behind him.

Once the guilty have dead they leave the room all together as Mu Qing wipes blood of his face. Xie Lian goes back to their thrown felling in to it tired telling the Gods and Ghosts that they have been killed and that they can go. And that what they did will not happen again. And if it is he will kill them with their hands.

Once all of them leave Xie Lian, Feng Xin, and Mu Qing go to Xie Lian's garden seeing that their daughters Xie Lian relaxs when seeing them have a good time in their garden having fun of showing the other what flowers they know.

Xie Lian goes to sit down beneath a cherry blossom tree watching their daughters have fun Feng Xin and Mu Qing sit down with them Mu Qing on one side and Feng Xin on the other watching not talking.

For the nexts five months the heavens meet once a month and Xie Lian time was more on ghosts city then the heavens.

The second year Xie Lian take on more of a lead in ghost city letting Xiao Meilian have a break. Xie Lian sits in the gamblers don  there's not a lot of gamblers there are a few mortals who come here looking for Hua Cheng and who do they get? Will Xie Lian of course sitting where Hua Cheng did all that time ago with a red curtain  shielding him from the mortals who are here looking at them with little like hope that they will not be as dumb as some of the gods he has to deal with.

Will one of them is.

"I bet 10 years of my wife's life!" The man said so excited to be getting what I wants.

"No." That is all Xie Lian says.

"what but you have to. What do you think this is. I can have this place come closed for good." Said the idiotic man at that Xie Lian smiled coldly.

"Will, will look who we have here a man here thinks his better than a God." Said Xie Lian laughing at the end.

The man see the  person behind the red curtain has stood up and now walking towards him.

"What but this is ghost city why would a God be here??" The man asked nervously starting to shake a little. And at that it earned him a laugh from the person behind the red curtain with a hand coming up to reveal who's behind the red curtain from the person behind it. At first all they can see is white plain robes then the man behind the red curtain walked out and seeing that it was the now heavenly emperor the man sinks to the floor  going into a kneel before the stairs. Xie Lian start to walk down the stairs then when he is close enough to the man all he did was twitched his fingers and look at that the man is now bound to the floor, but not from Ruoye but from one of Hua Cheng's devices.

"You see now that I will not take your wife's life. But I take yours." After that the man was taken by Ruoye.

Once the man was dead Xie Lian takes his body to his wife telling her why he is like this and that she and do what she likes to his body and they leave.

Going back to ghost city and going back on the thrown there. Waiting for the one that once sat there. Wishing that the one he wants to be with him. It's been a long day but quiet and there's other people in the gamblers don that can watch over it. So they decided to rest their eyes for only a few minutes. Closing his eyes leaning back on Hua Cheng's thrown going to rest for a few minutes.

When he is awoken again it is because there is a disturbance below, looking down only to see one person he didn't think would come back. That person is of course He Xuan. Seeing who it is Xie Lian thinks about it for one second and call out to him.

"Black Water. Why don't you come up let's talk." Called the prince "or are you going to stand in that corner forever?" He Xuan hears the call and goes up the stairs but stops outside of the red curtain. "I'm not going to bite. Come in here." Xie Lian called once more.

At that He Xuan lifts up the red curtain walking to where Xie Lian is then kneeling. "Your Highness... Umm do you know of Shi Qingxuan..." Asked He Xuan in a shaky and small voice.

"Ah. So that is why you are here mhm? Will I can tell you at a price." Said the prince.

"Anything." He said a little to quickly like he really wants this information, and Xie Lian will give it to him at a price of course.

"Do you know where he might possibly be?"asked Xie Lian.

"You mean Hua Cheng? And no but it might take some time, it might take him 10 years or so. That's how long he was in the Kiln but I would not take that as an estimate. I can always, I don't know study it?" Said He Xuan.

Xie Lian sigh "thank you Black Water and for your question yes Shi Qingxuan is doing good and I have them living In Piqi shrine for now" said Xie Lian, "and they go help Yushi Huang when it is needed and they help the people in Piqi too they are doing good. Reflecting on how their brother was not the best brother especially not at the end, and they're not specifically mad at you either you know, if you got the guts to go and ask them they might say yes to hanging out again." Said the prince and that shocked He Xuan seeing this Xie Lian goes on, "they miss you He Xuan much more than you know and they call you He-xiong now."

He Xuan eyes light up for the first time in a while. "Thank you, your Highness I will try." He Xuan gets up looking like he's ready to leave but Xie Lian stops him.

"He Xuan. Write him a letter first let him come to you let him have the time she needs, that is all you may go write that letter and I'll deliver it to him." Said Xie Lian as He Xuan nods his head vigorously.

"I will thank you Tàizi Diànxià!" Says He Xuan as you practically runs away.

"Oh what will I do with you both..." Said a very tired prince. After all of this Xie Lian goes to Paradise Manor early knowing that no one will be there and if He Xuan comes here to give him that letter it will be easier. Xie Lian last year found Yin Yu's soul and has been trying to nurse it back to health and so few it's been going good he set the poor soul in the garden. And that is where he is now in the garden next to the lotus pond that Hua Cheng made just for him.

This is where Xie Lian comes to cry  it's by itself far from the other flowers but close to the Manor where you can see it but not close enough to where you can hear the cries of someone. So Xie Lian comes here a lot seeing this place now without his beloved it's hard but-

His thoughts were interrupted by somebody talking to him in his communication array "your Highness it's Ling Wen I'm here to tell you that something has happened and we need your help I'm sorry for disturbing you..."

"Ling Wen, it's not a disturbance if it's important now tell me while I get there I will be there in 30 minutes now do tell me."

"Yes your Highness will you see some of the Martial gods thought it would be a good idea to sneak into your garden and see what you have..." Ling Wen start as Xie Lian start to run to the heavens when he heard the last part, "and they got the bright idea to try and eat some of your flowers  not just that, there is going to have to be another trial. Unfortunately there was another disturbance, and I have looking into it completely and I found some very gross things that need to be discussed." Said Ling Wen

"Thank you for telling me I will be there soon see you then." Said the prince as he run to the heavens.

Once he got there, Feng Xin and Mu Qing we're waiting for him. And they look nervous then their eyes go down to his neck. Xie Lian's hand flow up to hide the scar on his neck. This scar was from all those years of having the shackles he hides it but today he was in a rush to get to the heavens. Call for Ruoye to hide it then startling to walk to where the gods are.

"Tell me why the gods that thought that eating my flowers was a good idea?" Feng Xin and Mu Qing and run to get to him they were shocked for a second but not now.

"Will you see, your Highness they thought that if they had some of your flowers that they would get high from your flowers." Said Mu Qing.

"Yea and they are dumb did they not remember you threatening that one general?" Asked a angry Feng Xin.

"Mhm. Feng Xin, Mu Qing. Mu Qing go to my garden to see what they took. Feng Xin you will come with me for this part of it." Said a very angry prince. Mu Qing goes to Xie Lian garden to see what was took.

When he see was flower they took he starts to run to where Xie Lian and Feng Xin are because this is not good. Not good at all, getting there seeing Xie Lian on his throne looking as tired then before and Feng Xin next to him. Mu Qing runs up the stairs. Whispering in to Xie Lian's ear. "Your Highness they took THAT flower the deadly one there was five flowers gone... So this is bad."

Seeing Xie Lian's face Mu Qing takes a step back. Xie Lian gets up and walks down the stairs walking to the gods that took from him. "Give me your wrist." They said to one of the gods. The god gave his wrist to Xie Lian. Xie Lian takes it finding what he is looking for. "Will good for you. Didn't eat all of it you will live for now will." Xie Lian starts to talk to himself. "I could make a antidote for it but..." He said this in a whisper.

"Will. Mu Qing, take them all away for now I will come up with something. Now Ling Wen you said that there was something else let needed me?" Asked the prince

Ling Wen looks like she's going to fell over when the prince says her name "oh. Yes will we have found someone that needs a to have a trial... I will go get them..." When she done with that she runs off to go get this 'someone' and Xie Lian has a feeling he knows who this is. There was no body but a necklace. Xie Lian sits down Back at his throne with Feng Xin with him.

Once he sees who it is and it's the one he thought it would be. He calls for Pei Ming to come back to the heavens with Shi Qingxuan and then he calls for He Xuan to come to the heavens to this will need all of them it's going to be a long day.

"Shi Wudu. It has been sometime no?" Said the prince and Shi Wudu does not look up at him and looks at the floor. "Will I will tell you that your brother or sister I have not talked to them today, but they are doing good." Shi Wudu does not look up from the floor.

Then Pei Ming and Shi Qingxuan walk in "your called for us your Highness?" Said Pei Ming with Shi Qingxuan faning herself.

"OMG your Highness the now heavens look so cool! I have to come by more to see you all!" Said the very happy Shi Qingxuan.

"Yes I did call you both, and I would love of you come over more Qingxuan." The second part was said like a old brother would to their younger brother. "I will have to tell you that you both are here for a trial, and I need you both be ready for this."

Pei Ming and Shi Qingxuan look at one other then looking to Xie Lian and seeing that there is someone looking at the floor with Ling Wen next to this person. "Yes your Highness I think we are ready." Said Pei Ming.

"Good now Shi Wudu you can look at your sister and friend." Pei Ming and Shi Qingxuan look that this person seeing him showly looking at them now faceing them, they see a face that is the one they know that of Shi Wudu... And Shi Qingxuan starts to cry but as soon as it started it stopped and Pei Ming is shocked. "Qingxuan come here..." Xie Lian looks at she with so much lovingness the two have grown close the past year or so.

And Shi Qingxuan goes to him to find Xie Lian hugging her to comfort her then they whispers in her ear.

"Qingxuan, He Xuan will be here soon I need you to be calm for this and stay at my side the hole time please stay calm Qingxuan." Said the prince in a kind tone. When Shi Qingxuan nods her head. "Good girl now let's get this going." They stop hugging and Shi Qingxuan stands next to Xie Lian. "We will have someone else come here for the trial to help us, He Xuan please come in."

He Xuan walks in going to the throne the kneeling down. "You Highness, you look will. You have called for me?" Said He Xuan well still kneeling.

"Ah, yes He Xuan and thank you for the nice words now get up and start what we both know is going to be a long trial." Said the prince.

"But your Highness this is a ghost king he can not be here. And not in this trial." Said a angry Pei Ming.

"Ming Guang. He Xuan is the victims in this trial and yes I know that you and Shi Wudu are close but what he did is not okay now will you stay or leave it is up to you now let's get this started." Said the now tired prince.

They started with He Xuan telling his side of all of this, then Shi Qingxuan's side of it all and then at the very end Shi Wudu's side of it and then they all know what happened that night in Blackwater Manor and that when He Xuan and Shi Wudu left Shi Qingxuan was taken to where she grow up and with He Xuan he used a technique to see ones memories and so, he saw Shi Wudu and Shi Qingxuan grow up and Shi Wudu saw him grow up and He Xuan forgave him because he is and was in love with Shi Qingxuan when He Xuan let Shi Wudu go with nothing on him no blood was spilled. And Shi Wudu faked his death but not to frame He Xuan not all but that is what it looked like he was running from Jun Wu.

"Will, that was a lot but thank you are telling us and I think you have gone though enough, but you are mortal now and there's nothing I can do... I'm sorry Shi Wudu." The princes doesn't said this meanly it was kind. "Qingxuan if you like Shi Wudu can go back with you to Piqi and if you don't want that then he can go somewhere else all you have to do is say the word."

Shi Qingxuan says, "um will I think for now sometime will do us good and it looks like Pei Ming wants to take Ge for himself." She says this with a glare at Pei Ming.

"Very will, General Ming Guang can take Shi Wudu for now. Now this there something else that needs my attention Ling Wen?" Said Xie Lian looking tired.

"No your Highness that is all for today." Said Ling Wen looking equally as tired.

Xie Lian looks at all of the gods and goddesses there. "Good now all of you are dismissed." Then he looks at Shi Qingxuan "if you like you can stay here for the night Qingxuan." Shi Qingxuan looks at him and says.

"Okay it has been a long day." Shi Qingxuan and Xie Lian walk to his palace talking sometimes, sometimes not. When they get to the palace Xie Lian stays to work on the antidote of his flower. They both sat at a table in the back garden, Shi Qingxuan reading a book one of her favorites as Xie Lian looked at his notes for this flower he named Lianhua and it looks like a lotus and a spider lily had a kid and that is the Lianhua but almost all white except for in the very middle where it's red a deep crimson red for Hua Cheng and flower that is both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng equally but this flower is deadly just like the two that its was made after. Shi Qingxuan looks over asking.

"What are you doing? Isn't that the flower that you made for you and Hua Cheng? The deadly one?" Xie Lian looks at her then looks at his notes then back at her.

"Yea some stupid gods eat some and I have to make a antidote for it though I told them not to go into my gardens for a reason. No one listens to me when I tell them not to do something but no I was the strap collecting God and I can't know such things." At the last part Xie Lian rolls his eyes. Shi Qingxuan looks at him with pity, knowing the exact same thing that he's thinking, they will never learn until someone dies.

Xie Lian turns into their female form feeling a little bit more feminine right now. "Jie you know, you don't technically have to, but it would be a bad impression though but I suppose if you need any help you know who to call!" She looks at them with mischief in her eyes!

"Thank you Qingxuan. Your to kind, He Xuan I know your there so come out." Said Xie Lian then looking at He Xuan with deadly accuracyeven though He Xuan can not be seen.

Shi Qingxuan leans in close to Xie Lian whispering to them so they can only hear, "do I look good? I'm a good looking for this?" She asked.

"Your fine Qingxuan you look amazing." Said the prince in return. He Xuan walked out from where he was hiding. He bows to Xie Lian.

"Your Highness, I'm sorry for hiding in your garden." Said a still bowing He Xuan.

"Xuan, please stop bowing now and it's been some time A-Xuan I remember when you where a kid so little oh and then there was Qingxuan so cute!" Both of the ones they're talking about looked confused for a second then Xie Lian continued. "A-Xuan I take you in when your parents were gone for business are sister too, and Qingxuan I helped your brother with looking after you and your little demon. Now Sí dí how can I help you?" Now Xie Lian is looking at He Xuan waiting until he figures out that he's the one their asking.

"Oh, um I wanted to see if Shi Qingxuan would like to talk or if I should wait... And see if you are okay after today." He Xuan looked at Xie Lian as he was talking.

"Ah. Yes I'm fine and you will have to talk with Qingxuan if she okay with it. And if she is you both may walk in my gardens as you talk." Xie Lian said this while looking down at their notes.

"Thank you your Highness," looking at Shi Qingxuan. "Will you talk with me?" He asked so nervously like he thought it will be a no.

Shi Qingxuan has been looking at him the hole time, "of course He-xiong let's go." She stood up setting her book completely down and walking up to him. Then she looks at Xie Lian she places a kiss on his forehead as a goodbye for now. "See you soon Jiejie."

"Mhm." She gets from the prince focused on their notes. The two walk off and Xie Lian and sigh in relief all they have to do is finish this then go in to his palace and go to bed for the night. When Xie Lian finish it, it's at let's one on the morning but he calls Mu Qing he knows he will be awake at this time to and he is.

"Yes your Highness?" Said Mu Qing

"Ah. Mu Qing yes I'm finished with the antidote you can come and get it I'm in the back gardens."

"I will be there soon your Highness." When Mu Qing gets there he takes the antidote and leaves quietly. When Mu Qing is gone Xie Lian starts to walk back to his palace when he hears Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan making out. Xie Lian takes a different path back and tells He Xuan in his communication array  that if they are going g to do it then go to his place not his gardens. And He Xuan hearing this he does. When Xie Lian gets in to his palace he takes a fruit from his fruit bowl and makes his way to his private quarters for the night as he walks a black cat comes up to him walking with him then a white cat Xie Lian has been adopting a lot of animals recently some cats a few dogs and some koi fish in his pond and one snake not one of Ban Yue's but one he found in Piqi the last time he was there and all of them are now deputies in the heavens with Ban Yue. They named all of them the black cats name is Ai, the white cats Sying, the dogs names are Qiqi, Zhenzhen, Xiáng, and Huahua. Huahua has a flower on her head. Then there are the Koi fish Hui, Bao, Pídàn, and Li then there is the snake Kuai there are two more cats there names are Xiao Hēi and Xiao Mī throws two are kittens. Qiqi likes to sleep with Xie Lian and Xie Lian can see him running down the halls running straight to Xie Lian with Huahua and Xiáng waiting by the door to Xie Lian's rooms the cats and dogs like to sleep with Xie Lian but Qiqi likes it more then the others.

When Xie Lian see Qiqi he stops walking waiting for the dog to get to him when Qiqi gets to him he jumps up in to Xie Lian's arm as Xie Lian take a bite of his fruit holding Qiqi in one arm he starts to walk down the hallway with Ai and Sying walking calmly with him. When they all get in to Xie Lian rooms putting Qiqi on the bed the others all get on the bed not laying down yet waiting for Xie Lian Kuai likes to sleep by Xie Lian's head but Xie Lian was taking to long so she find him in the gardens and Kuai is not small at all Kuai is all white with a pink nose, Kuai is 4 feet long Qiqi is 5 feet long, Zhenzhen is 6 feet, Xiáng is 7 feet long that silly girl, Huahua is 4 feet long and the cats are all regular sized cats.

Xie Lian takes off his outer robes then getting in to bed all of the animals get in to their spots Kuai curled up next to Xie Lian's head on the left side beneath her is Ai and Sying cuddled up together next to them is Xiao Hēi and Xiao Mī beside them is Huahua cuddled up with Xiáng on the right side is Qiqi and Zhenzhen with Xie Lian in the middle of all of them.

In the morning Xie Lian gets up seeing that the dogs and cats but Sying were gone he pets Sying and wakes Kuai up for their breakfasts. Xie Lian gets up putting on fresh white robes, then walking out of their room. He makes the animals breakfast calling for all of them then start to make some for himself then he get a call from Ling Wen and had to leave then and there putting the food away they start to walk to where he is needed Xiáng was the first to finished breakfast walking with Xie Lian to where he is needed.

"Mu Qing, how was the antidote?" Asked Xie Lian was they walked with Mu Qing on his left and on his right Xiáng.

"It's worked will for them your Highness." Mu Qing looked at him seeing that he looked tired and that he has gotten skinnier... "Your Highness? Have you been eating properly?" He asked not looking at Xie Lian so he did not see the look on his face.

Xie Lian's smile that is almost always there is now not there and his face is grim almost cold. "Of course Mu Qing way would I not?" Said Xie Lian with that to good fake smile that no one can see through but one and he is not here.

Mu Qing looks at him and smile why was he so worried? With that smile Xie Lian gave him it was like he was that little prince again so smiley like he was born with it on his face. "Of course your Highness I don't know worried." As he said that they got to were they were needed.

"Pei Ming, Shi Wudu what has happened?" Asked the prince. They both looked at one other like they don't want to say.

"Will you see your Highness umm one of your animals got in to my palace..." Said Pei Ming looking nervous.

"Ah, I see who all my animals are in my palace now. May I know who?" Asked the prince. Pei Ming and Shi Wudu looked at the other then Pei Ming nods walking in to Pei Ming's palace they see Huahua dead on the ground. Pei Ming looked so nervous at the look on Xie Lian's face Xiáng goes over to her sister nudging her gently, then barking trying to wake her up. "If she was here the hole morning. Then what is in my palace." Xie Lian's tone was cold as ice like you were getting Frost bite just by hearing his voice.

"It is a illusion, we did not want to anger you..." Said Shi Wudu. Mu Qing looks over at Xie Lian face blank but eyes a flame with anger.

"What happened to my Huahua." They looked at one other again not looking like they want to say. "TELL ME!" Yelled Xie Lian and by the sound, it sounded like it shook the heavens waking them all at the yelling. Xie Lian looks at Pei Ming and Shi Wudu.

"We did not know what it was a accidentally killed it... We are so sorry your Highness." Pei Ming said trying to calm down the prince. "We can get you another dog..." Pei Ming tried.

All Xie Lian does I take Huahua's body and leaves. With Mu Qing hot on his tail. "Mu Qing call for my daughters and look in to this now." This as said in a deadpan voice at looking at Huahua or Mu Qing.

So Mu Qing does what he is told calling Ben Yue and Xiao Meilian having to hear them cry for their beloved dog. When Feng Xin heard of this he run to Xie Lian's palace he has been there for Xie Lian when all of his dogs that have pasted in this walls when they are kids as teens and he knows where he will be the one place no one but Xie Lian and Feng Xin know where it is when he gets there it is not pretty.

Xie Lian in a ball on the floor looking at Huahua waiting for something to happen, Huahua was in the middle of the room with candles all around her. Then when nothing happens Xie Lian start crying. "Why, why is nothing happening I did it all right I'm a God now why is it not working." Not knowing that Feng Xin is there crawls over to Huahua touching the fire that light the candles burning his hands. "Huahua your not going to leave me to right? Right little flower? Please, please don't leave me too..." crumpling to the floor having his head touching the ground and his hands on the back of his head. One of his hands going to grab a chain around his neck with a ring attached to it "Hong-er my love what do I do now I last Huahua the one you send to me... Will you come back Hong-er come home to me?" Still holding the ring in his hand he crumples again not looking at anybody not even having his eyes open just crying then screaming and this is when Feng Xin steps in coming to kneeling next to Xie Lian hugging him from behind and call for Mu Qing in his personal communication array.

"Mu Qing Xie Lian burned his hands will come to his palace to look at them?" Asked Feng Xin.

"Of course Feng Xin is his Highness okay?"

"Will if you think trying to save and resurrect your dead dog then yes but no he is not okay and he will not be for sometime."

"I see I will there soon"

"Thank you Mu Qing"

Taking Xie Lian into his room laying come down on his bed after knocking him out Feng Xin waits for Mu Qing at the feet of his bed it didn't take long for Mu Qing to get to the palace having Sying and Ai take him to Xie Lian's rooms when he walks in he see Qiqi next to Xie Lian his head on Xie Lian chest watching Xie Lian Ben Yue and Xiao Meilian are in the palace somewhere but not here. "Feng Xin how did his hands get burned?" Asked Mu Qing as he looked at Xie Lian's hands and they look bad. What Feng Xin says shocks Mu Qing.

"He touched the flames that he made..." Mu Qing was shocked and sad that Xie Lian would do this at all.

When Xie Lian was asleep he would dream of his beloved crying on his sleep all the time having to wipe his eyes every morning.

When Mu Qing was finished with taking care the the burns they both wake Xie Lian up. He wake up easily he got up right away and started preparing for the funeral then Xie Lian want out to feed the Koi fish. Then getting back in side he has not talk the entire time since he woke up he will not say a single word only shaking and nodding his head. He gets his daughters to start the process of a funeral he has already built the pyre all he needs is for his daughters to be there with his 2 best friends Feng Xin and Mu Qing.

Are the next week Xie Lian didn't leave his room if it was not to feed the animals but not himself he didn't eat for that week after that week Lang Qianqiu come to visit his Guoshi so when he saw Xie Lian he was taken aback at first then seeing that Xie Lian is just going to sit there in the back gardens not saying anything having his back to Lang Qianqiu he walks over.

"Guoshi? How your you doing since the last time I saw you?" Asked the younger prince. Xie Lian didn't turn to look only talk to him in his personal communication array.

*I'm fine Qianqiu how have your mission been?* the older prince said to him like talking with his vocal chords was to much for them to do.

"It was good Guoshi have you seen Qi Rong?" Xie Lian didn't look at him only bowing his head.

*no but I do know that Ling Wen has eyes on him at all times.* said Xie Lian.

"Thank you Guoshi!" Lang Qianqiu said as he started to run off.

Not even two weeks after Huahua's death did other pass this time Kuai was killed by a martial God trying to get in to Xie Lian's palace after the funeral on the same day Kuai's ashes were put next to Huahua's then Xie Lian goes for the one that killed Kuai killing him and telling all the gods if they try to kill his animals they will die.

Some didn't believe him at first then all of Xie Lian's Koi fish die killed by some one thinking that they would make a good snack. And will hope for the can even take a bite there head was off on only some people can enter anywhere near Xie Lian's palace then Xiáng got sick from missing her sister and she passed all of the ashes if the Koi fish and Xiáng got placed right next to Huahua's and Kuai's next was the kittens they passed when Xie Lian take them to Piqi when him want to see Shi Qingxuan. Then Zhenzhen protecting Ben Yue from some bad ghosts and then Qiqi after Zhenzhen from loneliness. Now it was only Ai and Sying left that didn't take long to it was a month after Huahua's death that when Xie Lian had a mission having Ben Yue and Xiao Meilian take care of them for him did he relax a little bit then. High level ghosts snuck in to Paradise Manor trying to find something on Hua Cheng did they see the cats sleeping cuddled up did they go for the kill when Xie Lian heard of this he start to be colder killing the ghost that killed Ai and Sying.

Did Xie Lian start to take up some old habits like one time in his second banishment he was a blacksmith wanting how to make weapons so in the future if he didn't have the money or sword he can make his own. So he picked it up again somewhere to release his anger might help him. And it did at first making more and more weapons all that he knew how to wield and how to make. Making Feng Xin and Mu Qing swords and and bows and arrows then Xiao Meilian weapons of her liking and what she could wheeled then it was Ben Yue making her weapons that would help her magic then making jewelry for his daughters.

When he was in the forge he didn't where gloves he would allow himself to get burned every single time unless Mu Qing would notice and tell him to stop that and he did for a few days then, meeting started to be held in his forge because he didn't want to leave. Stating that the forge hopes him concentrate and Ling Wen allowed it no matter how hot it gets in the forge they would always sit it out the forge was lying with all sorts of weapons, big small medium, anything you can think of they're there and Xie Lian knows how to wield all of them  and the 4th was big too it could for the at least 20 people comfortably and for the heavens seeing that their now emperor knew how to forge weapons very well too they decided not to cross him again and that he knew how to wield an axe better than sometimes even a sword terrifying, but whan this year comes to a end the next starts off differently. And they don't see Xie Lian's face for 8 more years.

Chapter Text

Xie Lian sits by a lotus pond looking at the water watching the lotuses blowing a little in the wind, calmly sitting watching the time pass by humming a little tune that his mother would sing for him as a kid he has hummed this song for children and his daughters. Then someone walks up to him and sitting down next to him.

"Your Highness, eternity is far too cruel of a fate for you. Sitting here all alone why not have people sitting here with you my dear?" Said the person next to Xie Lian looking over at the person and it's Hua Cheng. Seeing that it's his beloved.

"Oh, my dear why not come home sooner then there will be someone sitting with me." The tears that have not flowed start to flow. "San Lang please tell me that you will come home and make this all better again please." He said pleading him.

"Gege I'm sorry I don't know I'm sorry. Your Highness go talk to your friends and tell them what you have gone through." Hua Cheng said this looking at him with love but pain.

"Ah, love please you know I can't I can't tell myself about my past. I need you, you make things easier..." Xie Lian said so pain. "Please San Lang..." Xie Lian has not taken his eyes off of Hua Cheng remembering every line, the shape of his eyes, the shape of his nose his jaw, everything.

"I'm sorry." That is all Hua Cheng can say before he disappears again now sitting all alone at that pond then he wake up in his empty bed with no animals left. Getting up and getting ready are the day braiding his hair putting on silk white robes then a Vale of white covering his eyes and head trailing down his back dragging on the floor, his braid on his left shoulder. Taking a small fruit with him as he walks through his gardens today his in ghost city with his daughters. Letting his daughters have a break for the day and have the heavens taking care of themselves for a day. Xie Lian make his way to the gamblers don for the day to see what it will give to him today.

Taking a sit on Hua Cheng's throne looking down on the gamblers that are in the Don like Hua Cheng did when Xie Lian see a familiar face. Calling out through their personal communication array.

*Rong-er why are you here? And is that Yin Yu with you?* Qi Rong looks up to the dais seeing that someone is on the throne.

*Royal cousin... I'm here to see you if that is okay...* Qi Rong looks nervous at being here.

*Will if that's the case then I will tell Yin Yu to take you up here Rong-er.* then Xie Lian calls the Waning Moon Officer telling him to bring Qi Rong to the dais. When Qi Rong and Yin Yu get up there Xie Lian has gotten tea ready because this is going to be a long talk with is younger cousin.

*Rong-er you like lovely how have you been?* Xie Lian has not used their vocal cords sense Huahua's death. *Yin Yu, you can go now.* said Xie Lian as he looks at Qi Rong the hole time not like they know what he is looking at not with this Vale on. Yin Yu leaves with a bow.

"I'm good Royal cousin, how are you?" Qi Rong looks like when they are younger, kind for the first time Qi Rong looks like his mother more then his father. That is a good thing Xie Lian aunt was a kind woman when she was not married to Qi Rong's father.

*I'm fine Rong-er you look happy again like when your mother and you, came to see Muqīn and me when you were so young. How is Guzi? I know Qianqiu was looking for you.* the smile on Xie Lian's lips it's not so forced this time.

"Guzi is good Lang Qianqiu is fine he likes to come see Guzi time to time and I let him Guzi likes him enough." Said Qi Rong with a small smile on his face not looking at Xie Lian but Xie Lian can see it. Xie Lian likes seeing this side of his cousin.

*That's lovely Rong-er now tell me why you want to talk with me? And if you need time to think we can have a ghosts Lords meeting now as well, so it would be you, me, Yin Yu, and Sí dí maybe Qingxuan if their with Xuan today.* asked Xie Lian having all the time for both talks today.

"I'd like that if it's okay with you of course." Said the younger man. Xie Lian gives him a small smile. Xie Lian calls He Xuan and Yin Yu Together.

*Si di, a-Yu come to the gamblers don we're having the ghost Lords meeting with Rong-er. I have tea and smacks for both of you a-Yu you will take the notes if that's okay with you. I have it all set up for us Si di if Qingxuan is with you, you can bring them with you my girls would love to see them.* after say this the two start to talk in order of ago.

*Dage I will be there so will Xuanxuan see you soon Dage.* said He Xuan then it was Yin Yu.

*Da ge I will be there soon I'm with your girls right now see you soon.* after saying their goodbyes and see you soon. After this Xie Lian looks at Qi Rong seeing that he has been drinking his tea. Then the other boys get there Shi Qingxuan is not there but with the girls.

"Dage how have you been?" Asked He Xuan first.

*I'm fine Sidi, your weapon hope you're done soon I will tell you when.*

"Thank you again Dage." Eming has been asleep since its owner disappeared, but Xie Lian had it on his lap now.

"Dage I have the paper for the notes and thank you for the tea." Said Yin Yu.

*of course a-Yu and good, both of you sit down. Let's starts now Rong-er? How are things on your side?*

The meeting goes good having all four having their tea and snacks. Then after He Xuan and Yin Yu left Xie Lian and Qi Rong have their talk.

After Qi Rong leaves too Xie Lian gets a call from the heavens.

*your Highness?* said Ling Wen

*yes Ling Wen what happened? And why are you calling me?* He says not happy but not to snappy.

 

*well your Highness you see someone  ascensioned, it was going good I was going to tell you that someone did tomorrow but they where not so happy that you were not there to greet them.*

*get to the point.* said Xie Lian impatiently.

*well you see they got in to your gardens and destroy them and your Crimson Rain statue...* she said apologetically. Xie Lian made that statue himself with clay after a few months in the second year. And now it's gone.

All Xie Lian can see is red. Bloody tears fell down his cheeks.

"*WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN!? IT'S GONE.*" he yelled at Ling Wen and out loud. Everyone in the ghost realm can hear him, the earth it self shook.

"YIN YU TAKE CARE OF MY GIRLS I HAVE TO GO." Yin Yu can hear him from the Manor no one can say no to him now.

Xie Lian runs to the heavens having Ling Wen keep Hu Fu the new God that ruined his new life in his gardens.

When he gets there he see Mu Qing and Feng Xin, their are making sure that Hu Fu does not make it worse for himself.

When they saw Xie Lian they all were shocked to see him shaking with rage. For the first time seeing real emotion on his face for sometime. Then it's the bloody tears on his face. And the sword in his hands.

"Who was it." His voice was raw from not using it. "It was him right?" Looking at the new face.

Hu Fu was arrogant, "'your highness' it's about time you showed your face." The 'your highness' was mocking.

"Oh? And why is that, are you more important then my daughters or my beloveds city?" Looking at him he was not that good looking at all not like his San Lang.

"Well it's your job to see new gods is it not?" Hu Fu said.

"Ah, that is what you think I'm job is? Funny but no that is not the case. It's to make sure that the old emperor stays dead and to keep the heavens up and running. Now that's see if I'm as forgiving has I was with Jun Wu." Walking closer to Hu Fu. He didn't forgive Jun Wu he killed him but it was fast.

Grabbing a handful of his hair, "now let see the damage you caused Erbaiwu, Mhm?" Erbaiwu that is Hu Fu's heavenly title now.

Taking Hu Fu to see all that he ruined, all of his beloved flowers every one that he grow for his beloved to see when he come back. Feng Xin and Mu Qing walk behind Xie Lian and Hu Fu who he is dragging. When they all are back at where they started Hu Fu has been dragged for an hour.

"Call all the gods. Tell them we are having a heaven wired meeting." Xie Lian for the first it since getting here. Feng Xin calls the meeting for him.

When all of the gods get into the larger meeting room they see Xie Lian standing over all of them looking down well they can't see his eyes but they can feel them. They all see the bloody tears that are still falling and the way that his shaking even harder then before.

"Thank you all for coming. Today we get a new God who didn't know that no one can or well go into my gardens. Then he ruined them and a statue that I made of my beloved San Lang or as you all know him Hua Cheng. Know tell me what do you all think I will do with him." His voices is cold, colder then the North Pole.

All the gods are thinking the something that his going to kill him right here and now.

"Your Highness you can not kill me there are rules!" Said Hu Fu, how annoying.

"Well yes but all of them go out the window when it has to do with my beloved. I will use his sword E-ming to kill you for what you did to his statue." Still holding E-ming in his hand waiting for this.

His waiting for a lot of things but one of them is his beloved San Lang.

Hu Fu's death was a warning for all. When Hu Fu was dead Xie Lian looked at the gods in front of him with blood all down the front of him.

"This will not happen again. No one will be able to get in to my palaces grounds no one but my girls and friends Feng Xin and Mu Qing. All of you go." When the other gods leave it was only him and Feng Xin and Mu Qing.

"Your Highness are you hurt? Your eyes are bleeding..." Said Feng Xin as Mu Qing tries to stop the bleeding with his handkerchief.

Mu Qing looks concerned with the bleeding and that it's very bad, saying. "Your Highness the bleeding is bad I think that you popped a blood vessel? Does it hurt? Your Highness?" Xie Lian has not said anything since the other gods left.

Feng Xin looks concerned it's not like Xie Lian not saying anything at all. "Your Highness?" Seeing that he is lost in his own mind, "Xie Lian?" That didn't get him out of this trance Feng Xin knews what will get him out but this is going to be embarrassing for them both. "Mu Qing this is the last case scenario please don't mind this please." At this Mu Qing raises an eyebrow.

Feng Xin goes into a female form, "little Lian Lian! Look at me!" That makes Xie Lian snaps out of it looking at Feng Xin.

"Xia Xia? Is that you?" Xie Lian looks at her? Well, she looks like Feng Xin but also... Mu Qing is looking at this in shock.

"Mhm, it's Xia Xia let's get you home okay?" Xie Lian is on a freshly out of THAT dazed and is not in the right mindset.

Xie Lian looks at him and is thinking of someone else. "Okay Feng-jiejie well Feng-gege be there?" Feng Xin gives him a soft smile.

"Of course, then you and a-Xin will play in the garden with Madam Xie walking in the garden with Master Xie." Feng Xin gives Mu Qing a look that tells him that not to asks for now.

"Oh, okay I'm tired so can I nap first?" When Feng Xin nods her head Xie Lian smiles at this. "Ah, yay! Then a-Hua can play with us too!" Xie Lian is so happy at this.

When they get back to Xie Lian's palace getting into his bed and going to sleep Mu Qing and Feng Xin go into the kitchen of Xie Lian's palace. Feng Xin gets out of his female form sign ones he does.

"What the fuck was that?" Asked Mu Qing looking at Feng Xin in shock.

Feng Xin looks at him then saying, "well his mind likes to go back to a time where everything was good for him." Mu Qing looks even more shocked.

"Then why did you go into that form I thought you where afraid of women?" When he sees Feng Xin shudder at that.

"Well, yes I am but that form makes me look like someone I love very much my sister, she passed before you started working for the Xie Royal family. We grow up together she was one of his first maids, and when she started she would take me because my father was the King's bodyguard then when I was 8 I started to train to be his Highness's bodyguard. At the time I was 12 I was his bodyguard and then I'm sister got sick badly sick it was bad. One year later it was time for her funeral, his Highness was there with me crying that was our sister and she was gone. Then well you will not have known this but his Highness had a little sister who was 1 years old when he was 6 and she passed at 3 years old and he will not talk about how she passed but it was bad I know that."

Mu Qing looks more and more shocked as Feng Xin talked.

After this incident the rest of that year had gone good but the next year there will be a now god or goddess or will they come back?

The 4th year,

Xie Lian has been drinking with Shi Qingxuan for three years, and with Feng Xin and Mu Qing they drink every night, and Xie Lian gets black out drunk this nights and it helps.

Some days Xie Lian drinks by himself in his forge, and makes some new things for fun but sometime to make somethings for his beloved. The alcohol makes it better for him to focus now.

One of this day where they and Shi Qingxuan get dressed up and go drinking, He Xuan, has been giving Shi Qingxuan enough spiritual power to go into thier female form.

So they are in their female forms, and their get all nice and dressed up for fun that night.

Shi Qingxuan is giggling, "Jiejie, your to nice to that man!" She saids handing Xie Lian a other drink.

Xie Lian looks at her and giggles softly too, "well, Qingxuan I know that there well be a great way for him getting kicked down soon, dear!" They giggles again. Some people forget that Xie Lian is a God of war, love, flowers, grief, death, and missing love ones. But most unknown is that he is a God of children has well.

Then someone, a man see them and goes to them and started to talk to them. "Hello, beautiful lady's are you both free?"

Both Xie Lian and Shi Qingxuan know what he wants, and they are not having it. Then the name the Young Lord Who Pours Wine, once more become something new its not a Lord who poured the wine this time it was a Lady who poured it.

Shi Qingxuan poured her wine on that man's head. Then she ascensioned as a god again and is the Wind Master ones more.

The two finished their night out and goes back to the heavens. Shi Qingxuan stays with Xie Lian that night and the next night.

Shi Qingxuan's first day in the heavens once more was getting to know the now heavens again, talking to his friends once more.

Xie Lian let them go in and out of his palace but Xie Lian stays in side his palace the hole time. He can't bear the happiness all the heavens are feeling. So, he goes to his forge to be fair, fair way from the happiness of them.

He takes off his veil and outer robe and walks to the fire, putting what he was working on back in to the fire. It's a sword for him at is what he has been working on for sometime now. It will be done soon or maybe not. But, after putting the undone sword in to the fire Xie Lian goes back it a now fan for Shi Qingxuan.

It was something he has been working on for sometime, he knew that Shi Qingxuan was going to ascensioned again. So, he has been working on this when he see that it's getting closer then last time. Now they're a God once more so, Xie Lian has to finish it soon.

In one hour later the fan was done this time with the ashes of He Xuan in it that is what He Xuan wanted. And Xie Lian well do it for them he has something like that with the ring Hua Cheng gave him.

Once it was he goes in to the room he gave to Shi Qingxuan until their palace is ready, putting the fan on their desk with a note.

Then he goes back to is forge, the sword that in the fire is now like liquid fire now. His making it like this for the times where he needs to set his sword on fire for a job.

Xie Lian sets the sword down, and started to hammering the sword so that it gets the perfect sword. He does that for sometime then he put it back into the bucket of water. So that it can cool, then he leaves his forge and goes to the back, back garden, that no one knows about no one but Xie Lian.

Sitting by a lake, looking at the water thinking of a person who Xie Lian would love to see right now. But, he is not here. Xie Lian signs at the thought. Then he goes back to looking at the water.

He has his veil and outer robe back on so that no one can see his face. Then someone is next to him.

And that someone says, "my dear, what are you doing here?" The very back garden is very special it has a illusion of Hua Cheng, so that Xie Lian can see him ever time he needs. Xie Lian made this illusion so that he does not lose his mind.

"Oh, San Lang you know that I have a lot to do in a day I need to see you on bad days. Shi Qingxuan has ascensioned again every one is happy today but I can't make myself smile today." Xie Lian can't look at him right now not now.

"Gege, have you been sleeping? Have you been eating?" If Xie Lian was looking at 'Hua Cheng' he would have seen the worry in his eyes, but he can hear it in is words.

"Oh, San Lang you have nothing to worry about its okay. But don't worry to much and get it me sooner okay?" Xie Lian looks at him now saying that he okay even if his not all he needs is Hua Cheng.

"Gege..."

"I know, I know I will stop asking I know you can't be here, there is no where else you would want to be right now."

"..." 'Hua Cheng' does not say anything but looks more worried.

"Can we just talk? Like back then?" Xie Lian pleaseds for some little normalcy its the start if the 4th year and Xie Lian miss him so much.

"Okay, so Gege what has been happening?"

It was noon when Xie Lian came to the very back gardens, now at the end of their talk it was late into the night.

When Xie Lian gets back to his palace he goes straight to his rooms, and takes a bath then he goes to bed.

Of course all of his dreams are of his beloved Hua Cheng but this night there was two. The first dream was of Hua Cheng, then it moved to the day he never wanted to live again.

It was when he was nine the day his little sister pasted. The day a assassin killed her in front of him.

When he wake up, he was covered in sweat. Putting his face in to his hands, shaking having his knees up to his chest.

He stay s like that until there's a knock on his door. "I will be there in a minute." He says this has he gets up and washes his face, braids his hair, puts on his outer robe and his veil on then walking to the door and opening it.

When he opens the door someone has throwe themselves at Xie Lian. Its Shi Qingxuan hugging him as much as she can. "Thank you soo much for the fan! I love it!"

Seeing that she liked it made Xie Lian feel a little happy. "Your welcome Qingxuan, but be careful and ask why He Xuan asked me to make it for you." Xie Lian hugs her too then he says. "I have to go I'm sorry that I don't have time now to talk..."

Shi Qingxuan let's go and looks at him, "it's okay Da-ge, and I have to go see Xuanxuan!" Then she was gone like the wind.

Xie Lian starts to go to ghost city for the day it was a lot slower this year so far. And he happened it will be for his sanity.

Few months later, Hua Cheng's birthday.

Xie Lian is on a farm with Yushi Huang they started to talk more, one of them is needed for the other. Xie Lian and Yushi Huang they both are good friends, Yushi Huang has been there for Xie Lian more then others. Mu Qing and Feng Xin have some idea about they friendship but not really. Yushi Huang has graved for someone she loved when she was human. They sit and have tea and they talk about they lovers.

Sometimes Pei Ming comes to their tea and talks. It's nice to have someone to talk about this with who knows what what it feels like.

But it's only Xie Lian and Yushi Huang this time well their helping the farmers here, it's nice Xie Lian can get his mind off of Hua Cheng when his helping people. Like when he got his believers to build orphanage for children with no homes. The names of this orphanages? Well, it's named little red orphanage like the one it's named for.

Both Xie Lian and Yushi Huang are not in their turn faces. So Xie Lian doesn't have his veil on. Only Yushi Huang has seen his face for sometime.

"Lianlian! It's time to take a break come here!" Yushi Huang calls to Xie Lian.

"Ah, yes, yes Huang!" Calls Xie Lian once he hears Yushi Huang. Yushi Huang smiles at this.

When Xie Lian walks up to her, "a-Lian, let's get some cold tea to cool down." She like a older sister that is more of a parent then sister.

"Okay Huang, let's do that."

They have their tea and get back to work for the day, after working all day with the farmers they go back to their homes. Xie Lian to the heavens and Yushi Huang to her town.

When Xie Lian gets to the heavens knowing that Shi Qingxuan well be in the heavens for the day, he calls them.

When Shi Qingxuan gets to his palace Xie Lian has his veil back on. And he has a favor to ask.

"Qingxuan, I have a favor to ask of you it is not to big but you are the only one who I can trust with this."

Shi Qingxuan looks nervous at this, but says, "okay what is it?"

Xie Lian looks at him through his veil. "I did you to get me erotica books for male and woman with a male lover, I know this is a little weird but I can't go out and get it myself." When Shi Qingxuan hears erotica he gets excited at this.

"Of course! Da-ge I will get your own copies all of my favorite books! I will be back soon!" Then she runs out to go get them Xie Lian doesn't even get to say a word before Shi Qingxuan left.

When Shi Qingxuan gets back with the books, after gaving the books to Xie Lian he leaves and Xie Lian is all by himself.

 

When he opens his eye all he sees is black. Hua Cheng can't see his hand in front of his face.

Then he sees Xie Lian his crying, it looks like only a second has past since he turned into thousands of butterflies. Then he sees Feng Xin and Mu Qing trying to get Xie Lian up from the floor.

Feng Xin is holding Xie Lian's right arm. "Your Highness please you can't sit here until Hua Cheng comes back." Said Feng Xin.

Mu Qing is holding Xie Lian's left arm, then he tries. "Your Highness, please get up we need to get out of here..."

Then they see Mei Nianqing, "your Highness we did to leave now it is not safe here you can grave later." Said Mei Nianqing.

Hua Cheng see this all but he can't say anything at all they can't see him. Not at all.

Xie Lian breaks free from Feng Xin and Mu Qing, and he runs to the not dead yet Jun Wu.

Xie Lian takes out the sword that was in Jun Wu heart, Jun Wu gasps when the sword was taken out.

"Xi-xianle, wh-what are you do-doing?" Asked Jun Wu.

Xie Lian looks at him with such anger with tears running down his face. "Do you know how to bring him back?" Xie Lian said through gritted teeth. "Do you know where he is?"

Mei Nianqing, Feng Xin, and Mu Qing where to shocked to stop him from cutting off his head. When he didn't get the answer he wanted. When they all finally get back to their minds and see Xie Lian yelling at the now dead body of Jun Wu.

Mei Nianqing hits one of Xie Lian's accupoints and knocks him out to stop him.

Hua Cheng see them taking him to a inn then them talking about what to do now. Mei Nianqing says that he will go see what he can do about getting Hua Cheng back and soon.

Feng Xin and Mu Qing sees Mei Nianqing out, and go back to the room Xie Lian is sleeping in.

The first year was hard to watch for Hua Cheng but the second year was harder for him. He watches Xie Lian make so many things for him, as he waits for him.

When Xie Lian kills Hu Fu, Hua Cheng was there watching as his beloved breaks a little more.

And when Xie Lian went to sleep Hua Cheng was there trying to comfort him but his hand went through his head.

In the illusion garden Hua Cheng can be seen and can talk to his beloved.

When Xie Lian asks Shi Qingxuan for porn books he short screen when he sees it. Like what do you mean his royal highness the crown prince got porn books.

And when Hua Cheng sees his beloved practice the things in the porn books. There was a clone of Hua Cheng that was helping him practice.

That night Xie Lian gets a nightmare a old one and some old memories. Of when he was young, so young when he was so dumb so young, when his mother and father were alive,and their deaths.

Hua Cheng has to watch him cries silently in is sleep, not being able to hold him. All he can do is watch and cries too. He doesn't know what the nightmare are about. But that doesn't make it not hurt less.

Hua Cheng hasn't seen what Xie Lian does in ghost city till now, when he gets to see his beloved act like when Hua Cheng was running ghost city, and it takes Hua Cheng some time to get it together.

When he sees Xie Lian talking to his daughters, it's the cutest thing he has ever seen and the little happiest that he gets to see on his beloved, the some with Yushi Huang and Shi Qingxuan.

When Xie Lian goes to talk with Yushi Huang about grieving, and sometime with Pei Ming. He gets to be a little happy then. It is easier to grieve when you get to talk about your past lover.

When Xie Lian goes out with Shi Qingxuan he goes into her female form and has fun with going out. Getting all dressed up for the night getting a nice new dress, putting on makeup then covering her eyes with a veil that matches her dress.

When it was June 10th, Hua Cheng's birthday. All Xie Lian wears for the rest of the years Hua Cheng is gone.

When the heavens sees Xie Lian wears something not white was the first for them, but Shi Qingxuan has seen Xie Lian in many colors with their going out has girls.

When the Mid-Autumn festival came around this year Xie Lian goes to it, their was games but not like the ones that the old heavenly emperor let them play.

All of the gods are their they are all having a good time no one is not having a good time.

Xie Lian starts to drink more when the battle for lanterns start. The only one that notices is Quan Yizhen.

"Your Highness?" Quan Yizhen is next to Xie Lian. "Are you not going to go out to see the lanterns?" He asks the prince that is silence drinking.

"It's fine General Qi Ying, there will be more lanterns next year." Said the prince.

Hua Cheng has to see all of Xie Lian's disastrous behavior. And it breaks him, sad onces more.

Quan Yizhen doesn't take that has a talking him to go, and he plops himself right next to Xie Lian.

They don't talk the rest of the night, they sit in a comfortable silence, both of them drinking.

It was only ones the other gods have left that one of them says something. "Yin Yu has been working hard lately when you have time take him somewhere for me." That is all Xie Lian says as he leaves to his palace.

He goes straight to the illusion garden to see his beloved on one of the most happiest night for some, be not him not without his San Lang.

When he gets there he see Hua Cheng waiting for him, looking at the sky. He sits down next to Hua Cheng only looking at him not the sky ones.

"Hello love, how have you been?" Hua Cheng asks starting the conversation for them. Xie Lian looks at him.

"I'm fine, it was not as fun as the time you got me 2 thousand lanterns but it was nices." Hua Cheng looks at him now he was thankful for Quan Yizhen for keeping his gege company.

"Will next year will be fun to you should go again." Hua Cheng was the one to put the idea in his head when they talk like this.

"Maybe but I could come how and watch with you?" Asked Xie Lian more like talking to himself.

"I think your friends will not be so happy about that." Said Hua Cheng with a smile. Then laughs at the face that he gets in return. "Not saying thats not what you want or what you need at this time. But they want to see you being good and happy ones more. Dear, they what to see you as you were back then."

"I know but I can't be that kid not again." Xie Lian said not looking at Hua Cheng.

"I know dear, but that is what they want." Hua Cheng said as he looks at Xie Lian with a sad look in his eye.

"Hm," Xie Lian doesn't say anything after that letting Hua Cheng talk about what flowers are the prettiest this time of year, knowing that Xie Lian likes flowers and that it will make his mood better.

The rest of that year was good as hard as that last few. The next year can me good or bad but Xie Lian will try.

The sixth year has come, everyone is holding their breath it's been six years now, no one knows how Xie Lian will react to not having his beloved wife as Xie Lian calls him yet.

But Xie Lian is too calm, not like the other years even the first year he was not that calm. Hua Cheng see what other don't, he see what his face looks like when no one is there, he has a blank face all the time now it's like he tried off his emotions, only at night he doesn't have a blank face. His face goes through every single emotion that he can in one minute before he goes to sleep for the night.

When Xie Lian goes to see his daughters is the only time that he is seen with emotions.

"A-Yue, a-Sang let's go home it's late and no one will need you tonight." Says Xie Lian with a small smile, one that if someone who didn't know Xie Lian they would think that he was straight faced. But his daughters and Hua Cheng knows that this is a smile.

The girls look up to their dad seeing that his hands are in front of him both hands are holding the other, this his veil on but not the one his wears with others it's see through, its one of the first times they are seeing their fathers face In a long time.

"Ah, yes okay Baba let's go back inside." Said Xiao Meilian, the two of them have been working outside in the garden of Paradise Manor.

"Baba how was your day?" Asked Ban Yue getting up to be in front of her dad.

"My day was fine a-Yue, tomorrow I will not be home for sometime has I will be to busy there's a trial tomorrow I am telling you this so you are not worried." Said Xie Lian with a sader smile.

"It's okay Baba we will take care of Ghost city for you." Says Xiao Meilian this time.

"Thank you a-Sang, a-Yue let's go get inside and have some food for dinner." He says with a small smile not some sad this time. That makes the two girls smile with him.

"Of course Baba!" The two lady's of Ghost city says in sync with the other.

They all walk inside with Xie Lian going in first then the two girls. They sit down at the dining table has the servants start to make dinner for the three of them. Then Yin Yu walks in.

"Xie-laoye, you are here I was going to talk to Xiao-laoye about some paper work." Yin Yu says not looking up from the ground.

"A-Yu there is no need to look at the ground, have dinner with us if you have time, and there is no need to talk about work tonight." Says Xie Lian looking at him.

"Ah, yes yes Dage." Yin Yu says and sits down next to Ban Yue and Xiao Meilian.

When the food gets there having enough for all of them they have the eat and talk as they eat. They talk into the night, when Ban Yue was about to fell asleep they all go to sleep.

Xie Lian goes for a walk when the others goes to bed. He talks to himself not knowing that Hua Cheng is walking next to him listening to him.

"San Lang, have you been good where you are? Is there flowers there?" Asks Xie Lian to no one.

"I'm good Gege, there are flowers all the time I'm with you my dear." replied Hua Cheng.

"It's been so long my love has there been a good year for you?" Asks Xie Lian.

"It has been long Gege, of course I have been having a good year with me being with you." He replied to Xie Lian.

Xie Lian walks back to Hua Cheng's room. He gets ready for bed then he gose to sleep for the night.

Xie Lian gets ready to go to the heavens. He gets ready but not in their male form, but her female form. She gets ready in a red and white hanfu then the veil is white.

 

When the gods that are need for this trial get to the hall, they see a female Xie Lian with a tall women behind her in all white with long white hair that covers her face, it's so long that it's touches the ground.

"Hello everyone, today we are going to talk about all the things that Jun Wu did with all of the information we have for now." Says Xie Lian looking at everyone, with everyone looking at her.

No one knows who the women in white is and no one looks at her it's like if you look at her, she going to go after you.

The women in white puts her hands on Xie Lian's thrones back has she stands behind Xie Lian's throne. Xie Lian moves one hand up to the women's hand as a way to comfort her.

Xie Lian whispers to the women behind her, "it's okay Ruoye, everything will be okay xiao-Ruoye." She says. Xie Lian usually has something to cover her throat but today the scar there is on view for everyone to see. Then in a louder voice for the others to hear she says, "thank you all for coming today. It will be a long day but I will have some people to bring chairs for all of you and at the right times food, so let's get started."

They got to the first hundred years of Jun Wu's life, then everyone started to talk over each other all disagreeing with the others.

Then the women behind Xie Lian started to move from the spot that she was standing for this hole time. She starts to get down the stairs walking to the ones trying to fight with the others. She grabs the one that is making a lot of fuss, by the back of his robes.

Then her voice like the cracking of a ceiling says. "quiet she is trying to say something." They all stop at her voice it's like a demons they are all terrified to say anything.

"Thank you Ruoye, has I was trying to say yes there will be some cracks in what we know but we are trying to find out what its so please be patient for now." Xie Lian as Ruoye walks back to her master. Standing behind her again, then Xie Lian looks at the shocked gods in front of her she says. "This is Ruoye one of my spiritual weapons that I made, she was the first this is a now form for her that is why she is in this form. Let's get back on topic."

 

Later when it falls late they go back to their palaces for the night. Xie Lian and Ruoye go back to Xie Lian's palace.

"Ruoye go inside I have something to do." She says has she walk into the gardens. Ruoye goes into the palace.

Xie Lian goes into the illusion garden. Xie Lian stays awake with Hua Cheng all night, stays awake to talk about what will be said tomorrow in the trial. It will be about how Jun Wu ruined his life and how he was close to being a Ghost King.

The next morning, Xie Lian doesn't feel tired not anymore no matter how much Hua Cheng asks him to go to sleep. This time Xie Lian gets ready in red and white robes. His lips are tented with the color of a red lotus flower. His veil is white, he walks to the hall in a slow and steady pace. When he gets there all the other gods are there with Ruoye walking behind him as he walks in.

"Thank you all for making it here, today will be difficult for all of us as most of us had been there at the time." Xie Lian says as he walks up the stairs to his sit. "And for the ones that are from Xianle you can go when you need a break." Mei Nianqing is there as well.

When Xie Lian sits down they all take a breath then it starts.

When they get to the part where Jun Wu starts to torturing the Xie family, every god in the room gets to hear from Jun Wu himself what he did to them. They are using a small part of Jun Wu's soul that feels sorry for the people that he has hurt and are hurting.

The gods look at Xie Lian with pity and terror for him to have survived that.

When they get to the time Jun Wu has a hundred people stab and kill him over and over again. A few had to go out of the room for a second, the ones that know Xie Lian at the time and feel so yes are him.

Then two months later they see Feng Xin leaving thinking that, that is going to be the worst of it. But it was not, they see how Jun Wu made the last Queen and King of Xianle think that if they were gone their son would be happier.

This is the only time so far that they see anything on Xie Lian's half covered face. It is peer, unbridled anger. Ruoye feels what her master feels and she is anger to. They see Xie Lian or hear him break the arm rests on his throne.

Then they see the Queen and King kill themselves, they see how Xie Lian reacts, they see him trying to kill himself as his parents did, they see how Ruoye was made Pei Ming who has been in the room feels sick for what he said years ago. Then they see the plan that Xie Lian was going to play out on Yong'an, and how he didn't play it out because of a ghost named Wu Ming, and who that Wu Ming turns out to be.

"I think we can end it there for today." Says Xie Lian who has not been pleased since his past has been mentioned it's already night fall, and the gods are not going to try and stop this because they are all tired as well.

Xie Lian stays up that night to, to talk with Hua Cheng once more. They stay up for the next few days together again very day.

Jun Wu's time when he was in the mortal realm it was always to watch Xie Lian suffer.

One of those days was when Xie Lian was going to be beheaded for the first times, Xie Lian had accidentally killed a Lord of somewhere and some how no one knew about it.

But Xie Lian has been asking Jun Wu for help, but he never came to help. He only wanted to watch what will happen. It was about two or three hundred years into his second banishment.

They have to see and hear Xie Lian being beheaded for the first time. Xie Lian of now was not shocked at all of this, but the other gods do.

They take a break for a few days from the trial for the other gods to do their work. But Xie Lian as to stay up and work more then others. When it was night he take his work with him to the illusion garden, to work and talk to Hua Cheng.

When they start up again they see more of Xie Lian and Jun Wu's past, but they see all the worst points of Xie Lian.

They see Xie Lian bloody and all alone passing out from blood loss, lossing limbs of all type of ways. They see how bad things get and not better.

Once they get to a few hundred years in the stop for a few months, to get more and more information from this piece of Jun Wu's soul. And must of the work was handed to Xie Lian so that Ling Wen can get a break for doing so much work.

Though if Xie Lian was not Xie Lian, he would not be standing. Hua Cheng can see that it is taking a toll on his body, and only Hua Cheng can see what it takes on him with the only one to see his face in full.

The dark shadows under his eyes, the way that he stops eating as much as he needs. How it gets a little harder to fight and train, and how making weapons get a little harder but that doesn't stop Xie Lian not at all.

On one of Xie Lian rare breaks he calls He Xuan to his palace specifically, his forge. When He Xuan get to the palace, Xie Lian takes him to his forge to work on something he has been working on for sometime.

When they get into the forge, Xie Lian gets ready to starts, he takes off his veil and sets it down on a table. "Okay Xuan-si-di, what do you what it to look like?" This is for He Xuan and Shi Qingxuan's wedding that will be happening soon.

Shi Wudu ascented a year before, this is the first that a god and ghost are getting married, though Xie Lian wishes that it was him and Hua Cheng, but the fates have not let that be not yet at least.

"I think something to do with the ocean? Can you do that?" He Xuan ask Xie Lian not knowing what Xie Lian can or can't do.

"Silly of course I can what do you want it to look like?" Asked Xie Lian in return.

"I don't know?" Said He Xuan not knowing what he wants.

"Okay well what if I draw some ideas for you to look at and see what you would like for your ring." Asked Xie Lian, and seeing that He Xuan nods his head. Xie Lian goes to the table that his veil is on, and he starts to work on some ideas that come to mind.

A few minutes later Xie Lian calls He Xuan to the table to look at the drawings that Xie Lian made.

"Oh, you are a good artists like him." Said He Xuan, the 'him' is Hua Cheng of course. He Xuan looks at the drawings to see what he likes and doesn't like. "I like this one and I like this one but I don't like this part on this one, but this part on this one I like that part."

"Okay I can work with this let me draw that up and you can see if you like it like that." Said Xie Lian then he starts to work on the design again.

When the drawing was done He Xuan looked at it and likes it. So, Xie Lian starts to work on it with He Xuan and him talking about the wedding and things here and there.

When Xie Lian gets the right size for He Xuan finger to back the ring it was done in a hour or two.

Letting it cool off in some cold water, the two of them start to talk about the ghost realm how things are getting better for them then the first year.

When the ring was done cooling Xie Lian takes it out, and makes sure that it is cold enough for He Xuan to try on.

He Xuan puts it on to see if its good and it is so He Xuan takes it off and gives it back to Xie Lian.

Xie Lian puts it with Shi Qingxuan ring in a box then puts it back on its shelf. "Okay we are all done now Xuan-si-di you can go to your betrothed now." Xie Lian says as he puts his veil back on.

"Thank you Lian-da-ge for all you have done for us." He said with a small smile.

"Of course Si-di I would do anything for you two." Xie Lian says actually feeling happy.

He Xuan leaves and leaves Xie Lian where he is, Xie Lian walks over to the back of the forge to were a box is hidden, he opens it and there in it is a drawing of a ring that is way too big for the prince.

It does a flower with a butterfly on it, it was for his one and only lover Hua Cheng. His put the box back to where it was hidden, then he walks back to where he put the ring he just made opening the box it is in he see the two ring in it one of gold the other silver, one looking like the winds the other looking like the ocean. Those are the rings for the Wind and Water lovers is what they are called now.

Xie Lian puts the box back once more, and goes back to his home for the papers he was working on, seeing the halls painted of scenes of the Flame Master and Ghost King Hua Cheng, that was painted by Xie Lian himself in love and devotion for his god.

No one has seen the inside of his house for sometime, and the only once that know are Xie Lian, and the soul of Hua Cheng, the one that Xie Lian has been praying to and for.

Xie Lian stops to look at one of them, it was of a young man, with a white smiling mask, with a white flower in his hand having his other hand holding a hand that looks like it close to death.

Xie Lian has so close to death then how could he not see that? How did Wu Ming not feel sad at the state of him?

Xie Lian goes back to the illusion garden with the papers that he needed in his hands.

He stays with Hua Cheng, working, talking, at one point looking at the stars of this now sky.

The next morning there was more work to do and Xie Lian has to go work with Ling Wen so he does. And when the day was over for her Xie Lian goes back to the fake Hua Cheng to talk to.

Hua Cheng has to see the trail and the way that, that sick bastard hurts his beloved God. He see Xie Lian go up and down every day and he doesn't know if Xie Lian will try to do THAT again.

But all he can do is pray to his beloved God.

Xie Lian doesn't sleep for most of that year will it be better next year or worse? What will Xie Lian do and know next?

The seventh year.

The first day of the year is the wedding of the Wind Master and the Ghost King of Water.

Xie Lian gets ready for the wedding not putting his veil on or his red robes like he has the last few years, he puts on light blue robes. Then to hid the bags under his eyes he puts on a disguising under his eyes only.

Then he goes and gets the rings he made the couple then going to where the wedding is going to be held, Shi Qingxuan wanted Xie Lian with Shi Wudu to help them get ready for the wedding.

When Xie Lian gets to Shi Qingxuan's room he helps him get ready for his special day.

When Shi Qingxuan is all ready, he goes to see He Xuan, he walks into see He Xuan try to get ready but the robes his wearing are not on right not one bit.

"Si-di?" Asks Xie Lian, He Xuan looks at he and he looks helpless. Xie Lian sights, "let me help you si-di."

Xie Lian helps him get fully ready and gives He Xuan the ring for Shi Qingxuan, like he did for Shi Qingxuan whan he was with him.

"Look at you si-di you look amazing Qingxuan will love it." Said Xie Lian looking at him with pride.

"Thank you da-ge I hope so." He Xuan says with a sheepish smile on his face.

"Come on lasts get going." Xie Lian says as he pats He Xuan on the shoulder.

The three bows and the cup drinking goes will, when to comes time for the giving tea to the family, He Xuan has no family left but he looks to Xie Lian and of course Xie Lian knows what that means.

He walks to the table for the tea, Shi Wudu is sitting there already, when Xie Lian sits down next to him they nods at the other.

When the banquet starts Xie Lian sits in the back of the room may himself. Well not entirely the soul of Hua Cheng is there with him looking at him. But he doesn't know that his beloved has been there with him all this time.

When he goes back home when the banquet over. He goes to where he can see his beloved.

He tells Hua Cheng about very thing that happened at the wedding, and tells him how he made the rings for the couple.

Xie Lian has been writing letters for Hua Cheng when he comes back to him, and has Xie Lian tells the fake Hua Cheng about the wedding he is writing one on.

No one from the Heavens or the Ghost realm sees the happy couple for the next few months.

Xie Lian starts to make red roses with every step he takes. Everyone that sees him walks with red roses following the path he walks at him with a sad look.

Soon all of the Heavens have red roses, and in Ghost city red roses with white wild flowers all over the city.

When Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan comes back to their work they see the red roses all over the place.

In the mortal world they call Xie Lian the Grieving Emperor of the Heavens, they see how much Xie Lian loves the Ghost King Hua Cheng, that is how they gave Xie Lian the name. But what they don't know is that he is waiting not grieving, they all think that Hua Cheng is not going to come back thinking that he is now resting in peace now.

But Xie Lian and Ghost city don't believe that. He Xuan thinks that Hua Cheng will be back at some point but he hasn't know when.

Xie Lian still works all day and night not being able to sleep with all the work he has to do with all the things that Jun Wu didn't do. And the thing he did do but wrong.

for all of the gods that were working for Jun Wu have to be looked into. As Xie Lian can't trust any of them. Half of the heavens worked for Jun Wu In hiding what he did. All he can do is work and work.

All he does is work, eat, bathed to working very day.

The Jun Wu trial starts up once more this time they see what happen when Xie Lian was the Fang Xin, and what happened after that all of those hundred years.

Lang Qianqiu was there when it happened, and all of the gods there had to see what happened to Xie Lian when he was in that coffin.

"Good day all of you today's work is done very one can leave now." Xie Lian says has he plays with something around his neck. Ruoye starts to pull Xie Lian to leave the Hall of Rain and Snow, and Xie Lian starts to move to leave as well.

Xie Lian has been wearing his veils since Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan wedding. Xie Lian walks back it his palace after the other gods left the Hall of Rain and Snow, he goes back to where his fake San Lang is.

He stops in one of his garden because he smells haitang blossoms, when did he plant this tree? It smalls like how Hua Cheng did when he faded away, why did he plant this?

Xie Lian starts to walk once more, to where he can see his beloved once more his love Hua Cheng, San Lang, Wu Ming, Hong-er.

He stays with the fake Hua Cheng all night once more having the time to talk with him, as he writes his letter for the day. There is so many letters for Hua Cheng when he makes it back.

The next day Yushi Huang and Xie Lian have lunch together.

"A-Lian, how have you been?" Yushi Huang asks has she picks up a roasted lotus  route and put it in Xie Lian's bowl.

"Ah, Huang-jie I'm fine I have been okay it has been a long six or so years and I cannot wait for him to be home once more." Said Xie Lian were he was a little distracted.

"Oh, a-Lian... How can you not be tired? Have you been sleeping?" Asked Yushi Huang has she starts to put more food in Xie Lian's bowl.

Xie Lian doesn't say if he has or if he hasn't, but Yushi Huang doesn't needed him to say if his has or not, but by his face she knows.

"Oh, a-Lian what have you been doing when you have not been sleeping?" She asks trying to get him to eat more.

Xie Lian tries to gets over that by lying and he does. "I have been to busy with work to have the time to sleep much so that is what I have been doing."

"Oh dear, I can have Pei take some of your work off your shoulders? I know that he has been busy has well, but he has to help." Said Yushi Huang has she starts to think of a why to get Pei Ming to get off his ass to help this kid.

"Busy? Ming Guang has been on a break for a few months the same as Shi Wudu I know they were friends back in the day." Said Xie Lian a little confused.

"What? He has been telling me that he has been to busy to come to our lunchs." Yushi Huang is so angry at this they have talked about letting Xie Lian have more of a break as he has been though a long recently.

"It's fine I'm okay with all of the work I'm okay with it I'm fine." Xie Lian says not looking at her. She doesn't have time to make him sees that this is not good for him. She is going to have a talk with Pei Ming... After this lunch with Xie Lian, he needs to have someone with him, has his been through a lot.

"Sweetie, I think you needed to take a break, how about you ask Shi Qingxuan to go out with you?" Said Yushi Huang says with a sad smile. "I can take care of the heavens for you."

Xie Lian knowing that he can't really say no to her, but he can of course. "Oh um, okay Huang-jie I will ask."

Yushi Huang smiles at him and they have a nice lunch after that. And Yushi Huang goes to rip Pei Ming a new ass hole.

Xie Lian walks back to the illusion garden in a daze.

When he gets there he sits down with the fake Hua Cheng, he let's Hua Cheng talk about everything and nothing. He talks about the flowers that are in the illusion garden, he talks about the flowers that remind him of Xie Lian.

They stay like that all night.

The next morning Shi Qingxuan comes to Xie Lian palace, they get ready to go out for the day.

Xie Lian and Shi Qingxuan go into their female forms for their outing.

Xie Lian is wearing a hanfu with red, pink, light purple and blue with flowers in all of those colors. With silver butterfly jewelry.

Shi Qingxuan is wearing a hanfu of green, blue, and white, wearing gold jewelry.

Shi Qingxuan does both of their makeup, and they talk about what names to use for this trip to the mortal world.

Xie Lian's name is going to be, Li Hua. Shi Qingxuan's name is going to be Li He. They are playing as sisters, Xie Lian is the older sister and Shi Qingxuan is the younger.

 

In the Imperial kingdom, there is a shop that sells many things one of those thing just so happens that catches the eye of many kinds of people. One of those people are two sisters.

One of them says, "Jiujiu this one will looks perfect for your lover, he will love it if it's from you!" She is pointing at a hair pin with flowers and a butterfly on it.

The other girl likes at it, and her eyes soften with looking at it. "Okay, he will love it we can get it. Miss? Can we have this hair pin?" The shopkeeper was in a daze by their beauty, but when she hears one of the beautiful women talking to her, she stops then goes to take the hear pin for her.

"Ah, yes yes this is for one silver coin please." The shopkeeper starts to put it in a gift box for the older beautiful girl in front of her.

"Yes, here." The girl gives the shopkeeper the silver coin for the hear pin. The shopkeeper gives the box to her then takes the coin. "Ah, Meimei look at this it's perfect for your husband as well."

The younger girl looks at what the other girl is talking about. "AH, it is perfect he will love it so much! Oh and this one will be perfect for Ge!" The shopkeeper gets those for her as well, then putting them in a gift box as will.

"Oh, my girls will love this ones as well." The older one says looking at two different hear pin's one of them a lotus flower the other as a snake. The shopkeeper box's them as well and gives it to the older one.

The shopkeeper is thinking that the girls have to be young as the older girl doesn't look old enough to have a kids to old.

Then there is a man behind the younger one. "Laopo, what are you doing here?" The man said looking at her.

"Ah! Laogong! My love why are you here?" The younger one says turning it around to look at the man behind her.

"Si-di be nice to your wife she is here with me, I have a break from work so that is why we are here." Said the older one at looking at the man, but looking at more hair pin's and pointing at some of them for the shopkeeper to get them for her.

"Da-jie this is so unfair she said she was going to be somewhere not here. I was doing something she can't see..." The man said not looking at the older one.

"No no a-Xuan this is not fair I can be here. Oh and I have something for you too!" Said the younger one.

After getting the hear pin's and paying for them the older one looks back at the two.

"I'm going to see my da-nu'er and my er-nu'er, so have fun and if you want to see me you know where I will be." Said the older one the shopkeeper now knows as Li Hua.

"Jiejie this is so unfair can I come with you?" Said the younger girl known as Li He.

Li Hua looks at Li He and she knows what that means.

The two girls leave and the man looks after them then he pays more hair pin's for his wife.

Xie Lian and Shi Qingxuan go to Ghost city to see the girls they were talking about.

When Ban Yue and Xiao Meilian see their mother once more they have not had a lot of time to see one other. So this is better then anything the last year or so.

"Muqin! Your here!" Says Ban Yue with a smile. As Xiao Meilian fast walking with her to the other two women.

"Hello girls I know that we have not seen each other a lot, but I have the hole day off so I'm here to see you both." Xie Lian says with a small smile.

"Muqin, lets go in side if the residents of Ghost city sees you, you will not be able to take a break. Yours and Chengzhu room is all set up for you if you see the need of it." Said Xiao Meilian coming to a stop in front of the flower goddess.

"Thank you a-Sang, lets go inside and sit down I have something for both of you." Said Xie Lian walking inside.

Shi Qingxuan, the girls, and Xie Lian go and sits in the garden, Xie Lian looks at all of the gifts she got for the people she cares about. She gets the two she got her daughters.

"Oh yes this ones, a-Yue this one is for you and a-Sang this one is for you." Xie Lian says as she hands the right gifts for the girls.

Ban Yue opens her gift first and in there is a hair pin that looks like a snake, then it's Xiao Meilian opens her gift nexts and in the box is a hair pin that looks like a lotus flower.

"Muqin this looks really expensive... How much did you pay for this?" Asks Xiao Meilian looking at Xie Lian in shocked.

"Muqin, how much is this. Take this back." Said Ban Yue moving to give the gift back.

"No, a-Sang, a-Yue this is for you both it doesn't matter how much it was it's yours now." Said Xie Lian with a questioning look at them, like it said 'are you guestioning me?'

"Okay Muqin." The two girls say in sync.

The four of them have lunch and they talk all day long. Until He Xuan comes to look for Shi Qingxuan.

That night Xie Lian goes to the garden there in Ghost city, he walks there for the hole night walking and talking to the ghost of Hua Cheng that is not there.

He talks to his Hua Cheng's ashes.

Yushi Huang has to talk with Pei Ming and Xie Lian's friends so that he can take a break for sometime, and she got into contact with the Guoshi of Xianle, Mei Nianqing.

He says that Hua Cheng will be make in the next three years, but she doesn't talk this to Xie Lian yet not when his taking a break.

She gets Pei Ming and Shi Wudu to get their ass back into the heavens. Mu Qing and Feng Xin help take somethings off of Xie Lian's shoulders.

Xie Lian goes back too Mount Taicang, back to the house he made to wait for Hua Cheng. After getting the news that he does not have to work for a few months.

Xie Lian sleeps for a month straight, others come to his house to see if his okay and when they see that he is asleep they leave quietly to let him sleep.

When Xie Lian wakes up he finds someone there with him and that it was a now year.

Chapter Text

The eighth year.

When Xie Lian wake up it take him sometime to get up for his bed, his tired so very tired. All he wants to do is lay in his beloveds arms and breath in his smell of so many flowers like his beloved Xie Lian.

But as he lays in his bed he hears that someone is in his house, not just that but it sounds like their looking through his things.

So, after fighting with himself, he gets up and gets ready for the day. His hair in a braid it's longer now, longer then all of his life, but one time in his life.

The coffin.

When Xie Lian was done with getting ready with a veil over his face, he grabbed the first robes that he show and they are red like his.

When he leaves his room to see who it is, he has to take a double take, it's someone he didn't think he would see once more. It's Mei Nianqing.

Xie Lian calls out in disbelief, "Guoshi?" Mei Nianqing looked at him then he smiles at him, his holding some of Xie Lian's work.

"Ah, your highness your awake. It has been a month of time, as for now you still have time to rest. I'm here to speak with you, I know when Crimson Rain will come back to you." Said Mei Nianqing.

Xie Lian runs over to him, he can't wait one more minute. "Tell me." Xie Lian said ready to grab him and shake him down for the information.

"He will be back in two years on Mid-Autumn Festival, I don't know where he will be I'm sorry I don't now that much." Mei Nianqing said as he walks to the table in the house.

Xie Lian can't hear what Mei Nianqing aftered he said that his beloved will be back in two years on Mid-Autumn Festival, he can hear someone saying 'wait for me my love' that was the last thing Hua Cheng said to him seven years ago.

Xie Lian fells to his knees, not looking at the one in the room but someone of old. Oh, how his beloved is looking at him with so much love as he fades from Xie Lian's world.

 

One month after Mei Nianqing visit, Xie Lian gets a prayer that makes him stop what he was doing.

Xie Lian was sitting under a tree enjoying the sun as much has he can, then he hears a prayer it was from a girl and she was asking for something.

"Grieving Emperor, I ask you to watch out for my child as I'm about to pass on, and I don't have the strength to fight as your lover does. Please make sure my son lives a good life." Said someone, when Xie Lian heard this he got up from his sit.

He started to run, it only take him a minute or two to get to where that prayer came from. But he was to late for the mother but not the son.

The mother lift a letter for her son, her name was Hai Huali, and her sons name is Hai Long.

Xie Lian takes in the newborn to raise by himself, he gets his house all still up for a newborn.

He has not taken care of a boy are a long time.

But one afternoon sitting under the same tree when he heard the prayer, he see his son looking at the butterfly's that live in Xie Lian's garden.

He really likes the butterfly's, so, Xie Lian take Hai Long closer, Hai Long loves being in Xie Lian's arms and that is where he is now.

Hai Long loves the butterfly's so Xie Lian gives him a nickname, Xiao-hudie or little butterfly.

Ruoye helps take care of Hai Long in both silk ribbon form and human form.

The first month with Hai Long was nice, no one knew that Xie Lian got a now little one to take care of. But when Feng Xin and Mu Qing come to see him, they meet Hai Long.

"Look a-Long, the flowers are beautiful today." Xie Lian said to the cooing baby in his arms.

That is when Feng Xin and Mu Qing come into earshot, "your highness? Who are you talking to?" Asks Feng Xin as they faces Xie Lian's back and not his front, if you did then they would see the baby.

Somehow the two other gods don't hear the baby in his arms. "Ah, Feng Xin, Mu Qing." He says as he turns to see his two friends. "This is a-Long or his hole name is Hai Long, he is my new ward he is two months old." Xie Lian smiles to his friends, a real happy smile.

It's something that only his children can get out of him now.

His two friends are shocked that, one there is a kid in Xie Lian's arms, and two that his smile is real happy smile with a now found light in his eyes.

"Your highness, how did you get a kid?" Asks Mu Qing as he walks up to Xie Lian with Feng Xin.

"Oh yes, please come to the garden seats were we come sit and talk." They sit down and Xie Lian tells them.

In the middle of them talking Hai Long starts to fuss. "Oh dear, a-Long what do you need?" The baby in his arms looks at him and Xie Lian nows what the baby needs. "Lets go inside my littlest one is warm."

They go inside, Hai Long falls asleep in Xie Lian's arms when they get into the house, Ruoye becomes a babyrap so that Xie Lian can has his arms free.

Xie Lian makes them tea and they talk about Hai Long and things here and there. They were the first to know of Hai Long after his daughters.

The next week, Xiao Meilian and Ban Yue come to see they now little brother with some stuff for him. They get him toys, blankets, and clothing all made with the best quality there is in the three realms.

"Didi is so cute in this onesie!" Said Xiao Meilian has Hai Long is in her arms. The onesie as butterfly's and flowers with a small snake on a lotus flower.

"Yes xiao-didi is so cute, baba how is he doing?" Asks Ban Yue looking at Hai Long then to Xie Lian.

"He is doing good for how small he is," Hai Long is a smaller baby then what is good for his age. That means that the mother didn't have a enough food for her and her baby.

"Baba how do you know all of this about kids and babies?" Asks Xiao Meilian not knowing how her father knows about this, as when she was a child Xie Lian always knew what she needed without her saying it.

"Oh, I have taken care of many children over my many hundreds of years." Said Xie Lian as he makes some now heavenly herb that he has been working on for some time.

"How many children baba?" Asks Ban Yue very curious about the number.

"Well, I don't know the number there are so many children I have taken care of." Xie Lian says not looking up at his children.

"Oh, dajie how is ghost city?" Asks Ban Yue looking at Xiao Meilian.

"Ah, yes ghost city is okay but it is getting harder to convince them that Chengzhu is coming back soon." Said Xiao Meilian still holding her little brother.

That is when Yushi Huang walks in with her own stuff for Hai Long, she was the fifth to know of Hai Long after Mu Qing and Feng Xin, as she likes to come and see him more often then not.

"A-Lian, how have you been how is a-Long? I know that he is still to young but when he can take the trip I think he will love Ghost city! I will love to go with you as well." She says has she puts the unopened gifts next to the opened ones.

"Ah, Huang-jie you didn't have to get him anything, and I would love to go to Ghost city with a-Long, but yes he is to young for that but maybe soon." Xie Lian said with a soft smile.

At that moment Hai Long started to cry, at his crying Xie Lian looked up at him then looked at Xiao Meilian. "A-Sang, a-Long whats to be with me." Xie Lian opens up, his arms for the baby asking for them, and of course Hai Long stopped crying when his in his parents arms.

The three look at Xie Lian with the now falling asleep baby in his arms in shocked, then Ruoye in silk bandage form comes and raps Hai Long to Xie Lian's chest so that he can go back to work.

"A-Lian, how did you know what he needed?" Ask Yushi Huang.

"Oh, well I have taken care of so many children and you get use to their crys and faces, but for a-Long has his not alive. His a kid of a ghost that was born by a women that passed when he was born, so we can somewhat talk not saying anything but with his crys and faces and hands." Said Xie Lian going back to work.

"Oh, right I forgot that xiao-didi is a ghost as well." Said Ban Yue as she looks at the other girls.

"Yue-mei how is Su-di?" Asks Xiao Meilian trying to change the topic.

"Pei Su-gege is doing good his sad that we can't talk very much but when we can it's nice." Said the youngest girl.

"Aww, that so cute Yue-er-meimei! You can asks a-Lian to have more time to hung out with your friend!" Said Yushi Huang with a very happy smile on her face.

"A-Yue you can take the time you need to hung out with Pei Su if you want just call me." Said Xie Lian not looking up from his work or the baby in his arms.

"Ah, thank you baba I will!" Said Ban Yue with her face going red.

They talk and talk, when they all leave Xie Lian takes a break from his work. He takes a walk with Hai Long on the mountain.

"Xiao-hudie, it's a cold night I hope you are not cold my little one." Xie Lian talks to the baby in his arms throw out the walk like this.

When Hai Long fall asleep, Xie Lian want back into the house. Xie Lian puts Hai Long to bed, and he goes back outside but not to far from the house.

Sitting under a tree watching the stars, then he starts to hum a song long since forgotten by the world.

A song that Hua Cheng sang to him in Puqi shrine, only he knows it know. Not until his love comes back, but Xie Lian can feel him not believing that Hua Cheng will come back in two years.

Xie Lian feels like it will take more, Xie Lian is willing to wait but he getting tired.

His so tired, he will wait for 800 years, 1000 years, or until the stars fall, until the world end, and until he fades just like his beloved Hua Cheng.

Xie Lian sees a shooting star and Xie Lian makes a wish, a wish to have his beloved back in two years but he doesn't know if it will work.

Xie Lian starts to work a few months later, Hai Long is a few months old now and he likes to bite as he is teething.

And he takes Hai Long to work with him, and a lot of people find it cute.

Xie Lian starts to look into a lot of people when he gets back to work and now he has more work to do.

The nineth year,

Xie Lian looks at his sleeping baby next to him as he works an some paperwork for the gods that will be expelled from the heavens.

The people that worked for Jun Wen at to long ago and still looking to work for someone like him.

'Your majesty, I have some news for you.' Said Ling Wen through the prince's spiritual communication array. 'Can I come to you is the little prince asleep?'

'Yes a-Long is asleep we will have to talk like is if that's okay, but we can talk face to face.'

'Of course your majesty I will be there soon, and I will talk you when I get there.'

They stop talking and Xie Lian starts to make some tea for them.

When Ling Wen gets there they start to talk about their work.

'Your majesty how are we going to do with half of the heavens looking for someone like Jun Wu?' Asks Ling Wen looking a the  paper in front of her.

Xie Lian likes at her then looks at the paper in front of him. 'Its going to be fine, I have a plan for that. Do you remember when I find you out? I'm going to did it like that but a little different.' He says not looking a the women next to him.

'I see, this make sense. I will help in all the ways I can.' Said Ling Wen.

Then they heard a cry for the back room.

Xie Lian run to see what happened and when he got to the room he see Hai Long crying.

Xie Lian calls for Ruoye, she goes in to her human form.

She takes care of Hai Long for Xie Lian when he goes back to work.

The two gods work throw the night until Xie Lian tells Ling Wen to go back and rest.

Then it was only Xie Lian in the main room, Xie Lian still in the main room for the hole night. Into he hears his boy wake up.

Then he starts his day, taking a bath then getting ready having something to eat then he left his house going to work with Hai Long and Ruoye going with him.

Feng Xin meets him first and starts to walk with him and the two behind them.

They keep walk until Mu Qing comes run up to them, saying. "Your Highness, there is something you need to see."

When they get to where Mu Qing come from, they see two people fighting in the middle of the road.

The two are Pei Ming and Quan Yizhen, Xie Lian the one that has to stop the two from killing the other.

"Ming Guang, Qi Ying what is going on here?" Asks Xie Lian looking at the two that he is holding back.

"The child started it." Says Pei Ming with his arm crossed.

"I didn't start it you did." Quan Yizhen says looking at Pei Ming then looks at Xie Lian. "He talked madly about Yuyu."

"Oh, did he? What did he say Yizhen?" Asks Xie Lian looking at Quan Yizhen.

"He said that Yuyu is dog at follows anyone with money, and that Yuyu was working with empress Hua because Yuyu was a stand in for you your highness." Said Quan Yizhen only looking at Xie Lian not looking at the other man being hold.

"Is that so." Xie Lian sets his eyes on Pei Ming. "What did you say about my San Lang?" Pei Ming is not looking at but the floor.

Pei Ming doesn't say anything not looking at Xie Lian, the terrifying emperor of the heavens not the crown prince that pleased the gods that every one thinks of.

"Speak." Xie Lian says as his eyes burn into Pei Ming's head. "Feng Xin, Mu Qing ask the people the have watch the hole time, see what General Ming Guang said."

"Yes your majesty." They both say at the sometime. They know that at this time that Xie Lian is not going to stop until he knows what Pei Ming said about his empress. The two walk off to go ask about what was going on.

Then Xie Lian takes the two that were fighting into the Hall of Rain and Snow, then he calls Yin Yu to come to the heavens to know what has happened.

When he gets there, there are more gods in the Hall. He walks up to Xie Lian and bows. "Your highness, what did Yizhen this time." Yin Yu asks not looking at Quan Yizhen.

"He did nothing but defend your honor and my San Lang's, please come sit down and listen." Xie Lian said not looking at him but at Pei Ming, eyes burning a hole into his skull.

Yin Yu does as Xie Lian says knowing that Xie Lian is not in a good mood.

"A-Xin what did they say?" Xie Lian asks Feng Xin.

"They said that Pei Ming did says that empress Hua has been using the waning moon general for sexual use all this years." Feng Xin says not looking at Xie Lian.

That is when Yin Yu looks at Quan Yizhen he sees Quan Yizhen face darken.

"I see." Said Xie Lian, then he holds out both of his hands with them closed, then Xie Lian opened them and there are a flower petal in each hand. They move on their own, moving to both the man that got into the fight.

"You both well be fine, let it happen." Said Xie Lian, "think about the fight and what Pei Ming said, those petals will take the memories for me to see and I can have anyone see them if I want."

The petals go to their forehead, when it's done the petals go to Xie Lian and they all wait for a minute holding their breaths.

Then Xie Lian stands up and walks to Pei Ming not saying a word.

Then when be gets two where Xie Lian throw Pei Ming to the ground. "How dare you talk bad about the Empress of the heavens, the Lord of Ghost City, Crimson Rain Sought Flower, Hua Cheng." Xie Lian takes off his veil but the only one that can see his face is Pei Ming.

"You will be punished for such things half of your deputies will be going to both Quan Yizhen and the Flame Master Hua Cheng." This was the first time anyone heard of Hua Cheng being called the Flame Master.

But Xie Lian doesn't care. He is not thinking of that now.

"You will be in prison for five years, but first you will have this." Xie Lian holds out his hand and this is a flower in his hand, and once everyone that is close enough sees the flower their faces go pale. Some even take a step back.

This is the flower that Xie Lian made for his beloved Empress Hua, but it is very deadly to God's and ghost. But then Xie Lian holds out his other hand and there is a flower that looks the same as the Hualian the deadly flower.

"One of these is Hualian and the other is the antidote Hongxie but you can only have one as a tea so you will not die but only I know which one is which. So which one Pei Ming?" Asked Xie Lian all smiles but only Pei Ming can sees his face, but the smile is as cold as ice.

"Um, the second one..." Said Pei Ming not sure what to say.

But Xie Lian knows which one is which and he is playing with Pei Ming.

"A-Qing take Pei Ming to the sideroom for me, I will go make the tea for general Pei." Xie Lian said to Mu Qing.

Then he walks to his own office in the Hall, a few minutes there he walks out going to the sideroom that Pei Ming is in. With his veil back on.

When Xie Lian gets into the room, he sets the tea down in front of Pei Ming. "This is the flower you asked for, and I never lie. Please drink the tea and we will see which it is."

"Thank you your majesty." Pei Ming said looking at the tea only, he drinks the tea.

But once he takes a sip of the tea and his hand goes numb, then pain shoots up his hand into his arm, going to his shoulder fast, faster than lightning.

He drops the cup, leaving it to shatter and spill all over the table.

Then that is when Xie Lian tells him the truth. "Pei Ming, how did you not know that me making it into tea is going to make it worse? But you did pick Hongxie not Hualian but making them into tea has the opposite effect of the flower."

Pei Ming looks panicked at this but he can't talk with the pain.

"You will be fine, you will not die." Said Xie Lian looking at Pei Ming with a smile. "But, it will hurt like hell."

Mu Qing and Xie Lian left the room and walked up to Feng Xin talking in whispers, before Feng Xin ordered some other martial gods, to help him get Pei Ming out of the room and back to his palace.

Then Xie Lian goes back to his office going back to work, then Ruoye and Hai Long come into the room looking for him.

Ruoye uses her hands after putting Hai Long down to tell Xie Lian something.

Xie Lian is looking at her hands then he talks to her in the same way.

Xie Lian asks after her. As he is worried about his little sister.

Ruoye is his little sister in a way by that they share the some blood, Xie Lian bleed on her once and so did their parents as the passed by using her.

Ruoye says back to her big brother.

Xie Lian sighs at the then closes his eyes for a minute, then he goes back to his work after he sees Ruoye going to play with Hai Long after seeing that Xie Lian is not going to talk about it.

She the only one that knows Xie Lian has not been sleeping for a long time now.

 

For the next few months Xie Lian day and night. Then the Mid-Autumn-Festival comes around Xie Lian can finally, take a break so he does.

Ruoye is going to watch Hai Long and they are going to watch the lanterns, so Xie Lian can rest for the first time in close to two years now.

So, Xie Lian takes a bath then goes to bed, his hair has gotten longer his hair is  touching his ankles that is how long it has gotten.

He goes to bed not want to wait for a second longing.

He falls asleep fast, this is the first time Xie Lian has fallen asleep this fast. Not since he was back in Xianle.

 

When Ruoye gets back with a sleeping baby in her arms, she goes to check on Xie Lian, and she sees him asleep.

This makes her smile so she puts a blanket on him, then puts Hai Long next to his father.

The next morning Mu Qing comes to see how Xie Lian is as he didn't come to the heavens yet that day.

When he gets close to the house Ruoye in ribbon form comes out to pull him inside to Xie Lian's room.

Then he sees him asleep not waking up with the crying baby next to him.

Mu Qing takes Hai Long to take care of him for Xie Lian as he sleeps. " he's not a heavy sleeper, so I don't know why this time his not waking up." He whispers to himself.

Once Hai Long calm down, Mu Qing goes to wake Xie Lian up for the day.

But Xie Lian doesn't wake up. So he calls for someone to help him.

First Feng Xin, then Shi Qingxuan, Ban Yue, Xiao Meilian, Yushi Huang, He Xuan, Yu Yin, then last Qi Rong.

But none of them can wake him up, that is when Yushi Huang calls for Mei Nianqing to come and see Xie Lian for them.

When he gets then he walks to Xie Lian's bedside, looking at him then looks at the now human Ruoye.

"When was the last time he slept?" He asks.

Ruoye writes something on a piece of paper, then gives it into Mei Nianqing. He reads it and gasps in surprise.

"He hasn't slept since the last time I was here two years ago? And you didn't tell someone?" Mei Nianqing close to yells at Ruoye.

She hides behind Feng Xin and Mu Qing. But that is when they all find out that Xie Lian hasn't been sleeping for sometime, and that this isn't the first time he has done this.

So, they all are going to take time out of their days to come here and see how he is doing.

Ban Yue has him drink some tea and some soup ever day, so that he doesn't get sick.

Feng Xin, Mu Qing, and Yushi Huang does the work Xie Lian has been doing for the this time, and they find out that Xie Lian as been working to the bone all this time.

So all three of them have to work on it together. They have to work long nights as will, but they have their own work to do.

So it takes a lot out of them.

Ghost city has been doing good without Xie Lian but the Ghost city residents miss their Hua-guiren or the emperor of the heavens Xie Lian.

So they ask after him everytime they see one of the city's little furen's or Yu Yin, but they try to say that he is okay but to busy to come down.

Has Xie Lian slept all the flowers in the world start too turn white, people start to ask after the grieving emperor in their prayers.

But they all think that the grieving emperor is missing his beloved Hua Cheng.

Yu Yin and Quan Yizhen have been going out in some way, and they have been thinking about getting married but they both want Xie Lian to come to their wedding.

So they got betrothed to the other, all they can do is waiting for Xie Lian to wake up.

When the new year comes they all think that Xie Lian is going to wake up soon, but he doesn't wake up this year at all.

Chapter Text

The tenth year,

As Xie Lian slept Ruoye takes care of him, bathing him, feeding, brushing his hair, and taking care of the flowers that growing and felling off of Xie Lian.

Ban Yue comes to see Xie Lian everyday sometime with Pei Su, sometime not. Yushi Guang comes to see Xie Lian when she can.

With the heavens are waiting for Xie Lian to awake, some of the gods that were working for Jun Wu start to work against Xie Lian as he slept.

But Yushi Guang, Feng Xin, Mu Qing, and Ling Wen work against them.

Half of the heavens get kicked out of the heavens with their divinity stripped from them.

They do that so that Xie Lian can wake up without all of this stress.

Three months into the tenth year all of the god drama had quieted down. So they think that Xie Lian well be okay soon and that he well wake up soon.

But he doesn't.

Ban Yue has been talking to Xie Lian from the start of him being asleep, she reads his favorite books to him, talks about what is going on in Ghost city and the heavens.

One of the books is about a ghost who fall in love with a fallen prince.

"The ghost says to the fallen prince, 'your highness please let me do this for you. You will get hurt.' The ghost takes a step towards the fallen prince." Said Ban Yue as she read.

She reads the rest of the chapter and puts it down at the side table and she goes back to Ghost city for the day.

The sixth month Xie Lian starts to grow forget-me-nots on his arms, legs, and neck.

Ruoye waits for them to fall off but it takes two months to fall off.

When the Mid Autumn Festival comes back around they all are thinking of a way of getting Xie Lian back up once more, as Hua Cheng is going to be coming back the day of the festival.

Feng Xin says that they should dunk him and cold water again. Mu Qing says to shake him awake once more. Ban Yue says that maybe if she reads the rest of the book Xie Lian well wake up.

The try all of them but he doesn't wake up.

 

Hua Cheng wakes up on Mt Tonglu, not  remembering anything of the last ten years, all he remembers is what happened before he dead the three time.

Seeing his beloved crying, hugging him so tightly that if he was alive he would have pasted.

He gets his butterfly to go looking for Xie Lian in all of the places he thinks he will be.

He sends one to Puqi shrine, one to Paradise Manor, one to the palace of Xianle, one to the Mt Taicang and that one makes him stop.

As he waits for news he gets ready to see his highness. It's sunset now and when he sees the the heavens moved to the once Xianle he doesn't think much about it.

But when he sees Mt Taicang he see a lot of white nameless flowers all over the mountain, then he see a house on the top of the mountain.

He sees a room in the house full of windows and he sees Xie Lian there sleeping, someone walks into the room and close the windows and paper curtains.

He gets the butterfly to come back to him and he takes out his two dices, going to Mt Taicang.

Hua Cheng goes inside to see the person cleaning the house, and when she sees him Hua Cheng knows who its now.

As she goes back into her true form, Ruoye wraps herself around Hua Cheng and starts to pull him to the room Xie Lian is in.

When they gets into the room Ruoye goes back into her human form and she starts to write something on a piece of paper.

It says

Hua Cheng asks. "Why has he been sleeping for a year? And how long have I been gone?"

Ruoye starts to write again.

Oh, dear.

"Okay, okay I can try and think of what to do with waking gege up." Said Hua Cheng trying to think. "Can you leave me alone with his highness."

Ruoye nods and leaves the room.

Hua Cheng walks up to the bed where Xie Lian is sleeping, he is laying on his back with his hair all over the place it's long too long. With his hands holding something.

When Hua Cheng gets closer he sees what Xie Lian is holding, it's a ring, Hua Cheng's ashes.

Xie Lian has one earring in its a red pearl earring it looks like the one in Hua Cheng's hair.

Hua Cheng sits down moving Xie Lian's hair so that he doesn't sit on it, next to Xie Lian on the bed, he leans down pressing his lips to Xie Lian's forehead, then his cheek, and then on the lips.

Xie Lian moves a little as if he was going to wake up, Hua Cheng stops not moving his lips away. But Xie Lian stops moving but now Xie Lian is holding Hua Cheng's sleeve, not letting go.

Hua Cheng calls for Ruoye once more.

Ruoye says that Xie Lian has not moved at all. Hua Cheng thinks that maybe Xie Lian will be waking up soon.

But he doesn't want to wake Xie Lian up to early that he doesn't get enough sleep.

So he starts to get up but then he sees that Xie Lian is holding onto him so he sits there waiting for Xie Lian to let go.

He sits there all night, when the sun starts to kiss the sky is when Xie Lian let's go. So Hua Cheng gets up to make breakfast for Xie Lian, some black tea and soup so that he can feed Xie Lian himself.

Hua Cheng starts to hum a long dead song that his mother sang to him as a kid.

Chapter Text

Xie Lian wakes up to being in the sun, the windows are opened.

Xie Lian brings his hand to the bed next to him, his looking for Hai Long his son. Not feeling the toddler next to him, he gets up fast grabbing the first outer robes he sees not looking at it at all. Hair dragging on the floor behind him.

He runs out of his room, he hears someone in the kitchen so he runs around the corner and sees someone standing there with red robes long black messy hair.

 

Hua Cheng is humming to himself as he cooks, then someone behind him says something. "Is that really you?" The voice is trembling like they're about to cry.

But Xie Lian has no more tears to cry.

Hua Cheng turns back to see who it is as he doesn't know this voice. It's because Xie Lian's voice has not been used for a long time.

When Hua Cheng sees that it's Xie Lian he turns fully to Xie Lian leaving the soup.

"Your Highness, yes it's me how do you feel?" Hua Cheng asks walking up to Xie Lian slowly, not wanting to scared him.

"Answer my questions, then I will believe you. If you are Hua Cheng then you will know the answers." Xie Lian says with a shaky and raw voice.

"Okay gege I well answer your questions." Said Hua Cheng as he stops walking.

"What was your first name?" Xie Lian asks not blinking or looking away

"I had no name but what my mother called me Honghong-er that is what she called me." Hua Cheng says, Xie Lian looks like his going to cry but he doesn't.

"How did you die the second time?" Xie Lian asks having to keep standing as he is going to fall it not.

"Your Highness I passed the first and second time for you, the second time was to save you from being hurt by the vengeful spirits of Xianle. You were close to being the second white no face, at the time you called me Wu Ming, one with no name." Hua Cheng says not missing a beat.

Xie Lian knees are going to buckle but he doesn't let it. "What did you call me when you were mad at me for not answering you in ur communication array."

"Your name, Xie Lian I yelled it to you." Hua Cheng said not looking away from Xie Lian and Xie Lian is not looking away from Hua Cheng.

When Xie Lian hears this, he let's himself fall to his knees. He starts to cry, no he sobs.

Hua Cheng can't stand it anymore he runs up to Xie Lian hugging him. Holding him not letting him go for a second.

"Is that you? Are you real? Is that really you my love?" Xie Lian sobbed not hugging Hua Cheng back as he doesn't want him to go, to disappear again.

"Yes I'm here I'm not going anywhere your Highness I'm here please stop crying your Highness." Hua Cheng says pleading to his Xie Lian.

Hua Cheng turned off the fire to cook the soup so that it doesn't burn.

Xie Lian hugs Hua Cheng back he sobs into Hua Cheng's chest.

After a long while Xie Lian stops crying. They are still hugging each other, at some point Hua Cheng started to hum a song.

Xie Lian is now mad at Hua Cheng for taking so long, but he is mad at himself too for sleeping and not being the first one to see Hua Cheng.

Xie Lian moves his face from Hua Cheng's chest to look at Hua Cheng.

Then he kiss Hua Cheng.

It takes Hua Cheng a second to react to being kissed by Xie Lian.

Xie Lian is not letting Hua Cheng have a minute to think about taking a breath. Xie Lian was sitting on Hua Cheng's lap, Xie Lian is moving Hua Cheng's head back to get more of Hua Cheng's mouth.

"I put notes for you." Xie Lian said to a very confused Hua Cheng. "Open it." Xie Lian smiles at him.

Hua Cheng just stands there for a few seconds then he walks over and sits down on the bed looking at Xie Lian. "Peaches, water, and black tea."

Hua Cheng pulls Xie Lian into his arms after putting the tray down. "Oh that's great I like peaches."

Xie Lian hugs Hua Cheng back and looks at the tray. "Gege do you want to eat the now?"

"Water first please?" Xie Lian is looking at Hua Cheng with puppy dog eyes.

"Of course gege." Hua Cheng pours some water into the cup he brought for Xie Lian.

Xie Lian drinks a few cups of water then starts to eat the peaches that Hua Cheng brought for him.

Hua Cheng has not let him go yet so Xie Lian brought a piece of the cut up peach. "Hong-er, open up."

Hua Cheng does as Xie Lian is his god and he will listen to his god and lover. "Of course-" before he can even say the second word the cut up peach is in his mouth.

"Is it good?" Xie Lian asks his beloved San Lang.

Xie Lian gives Hua Cheng a little kiss on the cheek. "That's good Hua-lang, you can go make some food now, and don't worry about people coming here I put a barrier up so that no one can get into the mountain."

Hua Cheng doesn't want to let go of Xie Lian yet, but he did he give Xie Lian a kiss on the lips and let him go to make Xie Lian more food.

Xie Lian goes back to eating the peaches.

Hua Cheng goes back to the kitchen, he gets ingredients for dim sum for Xie Lian, as he knows that Xie Lian likes to eats it.

It takes Hua Cheng 30 minutes to make it, when he is done he goes back to Xie Lian's room- no their room.

When he gets into their room, he sees that Xie Lian is looking out the now opened windows seeing that the flowers on the mountain have bloomed.

"Hua-lang what did you make?" Xie Lian calls out not looking away from the window.

Hua Cheng just realized the term that Xie Lian has been calling him, he blacks out for a second then he moves to sit next to Xie Lian.

"Dim sum, gege." Hua Cheng calls to Xie Lian as he puts the tray on Xie Lian's lap.

Xie Lian looks up at Hua Cheng then picks up his cup and puts it to Hua Cheng's lower lip. "Drink."

Hua Cheng does, Xie Lian knows that Hua Cheng didn't drink anything after their fun time was over.

"Thank you gege, this one needed it." Hua Cheng said with a smile.

"I know San Lang, eat with me it's good for you, yes I know that you are dead but you will eat with me." Xie Lian says looking at Hua Cheng with cold eyes.

"Yes, yes, gege." Hua Cheng said moves to hug Xie Lian's waist.

Then once Xie Lian is all comfortable he let's Feng Xin and Mu Qing in.

They run up the mountain as they show that the mountain was now guarded by a barrier.

When they get up to the top of the mountain they see that the flowers on the mountain have bloomed. When they get into the house on top of the mountain.

They cry out in unison. "YOUR HIGHNESS!?!?" they don't see Xie Lian or Hua Cheng as they are hidden behind a screen.

"You both are so loud his highness just woke up." Said someone behind the paper screen.

"Hua Cheng!?!" Said Feng Xin as he runs behind the screen with Mu Qing.

"Gege why did you let them come and disturb you as you rest." Said Hua Cheng looking at the two now people in the house.

"San lang, please they must have a good reason to come to me." Xie Lian says looking at Hua Cheng.

Feng Xin and Mu Qing look like they are going to cry. "Your Highness, it's been a year since you were awake how do you feel?" Asked Mu Qing.

"Oh, well I'm feeling fine but I'm a little sore." Xie Lian looks at Hua Cheng and Hua Cheng's ears tried red. "But other then that I'm doing great. How are you both?"

Feng Xin does start crying. "We're doing good your Highness." Said Feng Xin and Mu Qing at the sometime.

"Oh a-Xin, both of you can you write down what happened the last year? I still haven't told San lang what happened when he was gone."

The other two take a second to composed themselves. "Yes we can do that your Highness, but the Rain Master has said that she wants to know when you wake up first and that she wants to see you." Said Mu Qing.

"I will see Huang-jie in four days as I need time with my family, a-Qing, a-Xin I will be with San lang for two days then we can go to ghost city to see the young ones. Will you come with us?" Xie Lian ask.

"Of course your Highness." Said Mu Qing holding Feng Xin's hand to stop him from crying again.

Xie Lian smiles at the two in front of him.

"Gege, the little ones should be fine let's take the three days for ourselves." Hua Cheng says holding onto Xie Lian.

Xie Lian gives him a little laugh holding his hand. "Oh, love you will know soon my dear."

The other two left to talk with Yushi Huang. "Lianlian what do you been I will know?"

"Haha, oh Hua-lang let me show you my memories for you to know what happened the last nine years."

Hua Cheng watchs the first four years, then Xie Lian stops it. "Okay that is all you get for know dear, it's getting late can you make dinner for us?"

"Of course your Highness." Hua Cheng said with a red rimmed eye.

Hua Cheng makes dinner for them they eat go to sleep in each other's arms. The next day they did the same thing, Xie Lian showing Hua Cheng the memories of the next three years.

Hua Cheng makes their food as he makes Xie Lian sit and rest after their times in the morning and night.

Hua Cheng is crying in Xie Lian's arms after seeing Xie Lian's memories the second day. "Your Highness why did you not tell me when I got back to you?!?"

"Oh, dear Hong-er when I'm with you I'm great, I'm happy." Xie Lian is holding Hua Cheng as he crys into Xie Lian's stomach as Xie Lian is sitting down.

Hua Cheng crys his eye out for hours, when Hua Cheng is done crying Xie Lian kisses his tears away. Xie Lian holds Hua Cheng's head to his chest.

They are sitting in the garden Xie Lian backs some flowers come up to Hua Cheng, the flowers leaning onto Hua Cheng.

They stay like that for a long time but Hua Cheng gets up with Xie Lian in his arms overing back inside to make them dinner.

The next day they go through the last two years that Xie Lian was awake for. Hua Cheng nearly dies for the fourth time when he hears people call me Empress Hua.

But when ghost city calls Xie Lian the Madam of the city he likes it as it says that he and Xie Lian are lovers.

The next day they make their way to Ghost city when the ghost sees the two lovers they all run up to them, as they walk through the city to paradise manor arm in arm.

When they get to the manor Yin Yu was the one that greeted them, as the two ladys are looking after Hai Long and Ghost city, but they got the news that Hua Cheng and Xie Lian are back.

"Dage, Chengzhu it's been a long time how have you been?" Yin Yu said bowing to the Lord's of the city.

"Oh, a-Yu how have you been we're have been great since meeting again." Xie Lian gives Yin Yu a real smile for ten years.

Hua Cheng cut Xie Lian's hair for him the day before se he is looking a lot better then the first day he was up.

"I'm doing good Dage, a-Sang and a-Yue are waiting for you with a-Long, they wanted to make sure the food was perfect for you both." Yin Yu said with a smiles at them to.

Yin Yu takes the two behind him to where Ban Yue and Xiao Meilian are.

When they get there they see Ban Yue with a crying toddler in her arms and Xiao Meilian is sitting next to her with a tried look."

"Oh, dears give him to me." Xie Lian moves closer to his children before opening his arms for his youngest. His arms are filled with his youngest and his sides have one of his daughters on each side.

The crying boy stops when he is in his Baba's arms. The other two are holding Xie Lian like they haven't seen him for many years.

Hua Cheng walks about to them and says. "Are we going to let the food go cold?"

"Yes sorry Chengzhu let's sit." Xiao Meilian says moving away from Xie Lian.

They sit down and start to eat Hai Long sitting on Xie Lian's lap as he eats. When they are down they sit down in the garden to talk about what has happened in ghost city the last year.

At some point Feng Xin and Mu Qing got there they sit down with them and talk about everything and nothing.

When they are down they all go to sleep, Feng Xin and Mu Qing go back to the heavens. Hai Long fells asleep in Xie Lian's arms and he gets to sleep with Hua Cheng and Xie Lian for the night.

The next day Hua Cheng and Xie Lian go to see Yushi Huang to talk.

"A-Lian how are you doing? Your Highness Hua how are you?" Yushi Huang said looking at both of them after bowing.

"Dajie, we are great how have you been." Xie Lian said with a soft smile holding onto Hua Cheng's arm.

Hua Cheng looks at Xie Lian with soft look in his eye. Hua Cheng put his hand over Xie Lian's hand that is holding his arm.

"I can see that, please come in. Niu-xiong is out right now. But Pei Xu is here working with the Shushu's." Yushi Huang is looking at them with warms.

"Yes Dajie we will go with you!" Xie Lian says moving to go with Yushi Huang, still holding Hua Cheng's arm.

They talk about what want has happened in the moral world for the last year. "And a-Lian I have been seeing someone are sometime, it's Ling Wen we have been taking it slow for two years." Yushi Huang said looking at her tea.

"Oh, Huang-jie I'm so happy for you and Ling Wen, she is very kind!" Xie Lian says with a smile.

Then suddenly someone runs into the room they are in. "DAGE!!!" They look to see who it is and it's Shi Qingxuan.

"Ah, Qingxuan what is it?" Xie Lian says moving to get up. But Hua Cheng stops him.

"Dage how are you why did you not call me when you wake up?" Shi Qingxuan asks looking every sad.

Then someone walks into the room after Shi Qingxuan. "Qingxuan, leave the poor man alone. He has been with Hua Cheng this full time, he got to see his beloved for the first time in nine year." It is He Xuan.

"Sidi, how are both of you?" Xie Lian asks.

Shi Qingxuan runs up to Xie Lian and starts to hug Xie Lian and cry into Xie Lian's shoulder.

Before He Xuan can say nothing Shi Qingxuan starts to cry out. "Why did you not let yourself sleep for two years? Why did you have to work as much as you did?!?"

Hua Cheng looks at Xie Lian he didn't know that Xie Lian was not sleeping, no one said anything to him about this.

"Oh, Qingxuan look at me." Shi Qingxuan does look at Xie Lian. "I don't sleep as o didn't want to see the face I was longing for, but that night I fall asleep i was so tired, and I wanted to forget everything and see that face once more."

He pauses for a second and then continues. "But now I have that face in my life again, Qingxuan if something happened to Sidi would you want to forget that he was gone and throw yourself into work?"

"I would... But I would want to talk with someone about it.“ Shi Qingxuan said looking away.

"Well I did after sometime, I had Huang-jie to talk with, and at some point I had Ruoye. But I have no regret." Xie Lian said with a smile.

They talk some more then they all go back to their own homes.

Xie Lian and Hua Cheng have ten years off of work then Hua Cheng takes the empress role with pride, he wears the prettiest robes when he is in the heavens. And the same goes for Xie Lian when he is in ghost city, he loves being Hua Cheng's wife there.

They raise Hai Long and more children in their very long life.

 

They live happy every after.
