Chapter Text

“My Jedi, have you eaten?”

Cal’s guilty expression, and the way his shoulders raised ever so slightly confirmed Merrin’s suspicions. “Uh… what if I said no?”

She shook her head scoldingly. It’s past dinnertime, and he has not eaten? My foolish, darling Cal.

“I had a busy day today?” He tried, though seemed to realize halfway through that his words were not helping at all.

“I’ll get you food. Wait here.”

Within a few minutes, she had a hot plate of leftovers from the dinner Greez had made. Sitting down, she watched Cal ravenously eat it.

“Thanks, Merrin.”

“Of course.”

When Cal woke up, he was alone.

That was usually fine, except last night Merrin had decided to join him in his bunk, and she always slept in.

So when he got up and saw Merrin sitting on the couch on her Holopad, it was odd, to say the least.

“Merrin, did you get enough sleep last night?”

His Nightsister glanced up at him, eyebrows furrowed. “Do not worry about me.”

“That’s a no.” Cal gently took the Holopad away, then pulled her up from the couch. “Come lay with me?”

She huffed, grumbling a bit. She was tired. “Fine.”

Ahsoka saw the bracelet and knew she had to give it to Kaeden.

It was woven from a combination of dark and light green string, creating an intricate pattern that resembled leaves. Green was her favorite color, and since she’d joined the rebellion, she’d been missing the plant life from Raadan farms. Also, it just reminded her of Kaeden.

She paid the Bothan merchant and pocketed the gift. She’d prefer to wrap it, but credits were short and she wasn’t sure if it would be easy to find wrapping on this planet.

I can’t wait to give it to her.

“Could I do your makeup?” Sabé asked, holding up a brush.

“Sure.” Padmé smiled, though a little perplexed. “Any reason?”

“No reason,” she said, gesturing for Padmé to sit before her.

Padmé dutifully sat, and Sabé began. She applied the creams with gentle strokes, breathing softly so as to not disturb the powders. Their faces were inches apart, and Sabé could almost feel every twitch of a muscle, every flutter of an eyelash. She could feel Padmé’s breath, her mouth opened slightly as Sabé tenderly applied the lipstick before finishing with a shiny gloss.

Sabé stepped back and admired her.

Barriss frowned at the latest scar featured on Ahsoka’s cheek. It’d been a few weeks since she’d last seen her. The scar was both another reminder of the time the Clone Wars took from them, and another reason for Barriss to worry.

“It didn’t hurt.” Ahsoka shrugged.

Instead of speaking, Barriss held Ahsoka’s face and tenderly kissed the scar. There was a scar on Ahsoka’s shoulder. Barriss kissed that one too. And the ones on her hands, and on her arms. Ahsoka dutifully lifted her shirt, and Barriss kissed the ones on her chest.

Maybe it made up for it.

Chapter Text

Merrin collapsed onto Cal’s bunk, limbs spread out.

“How was your day, my Nightsister?” He asked without looking up from his scrap project.

“It was quite tiring,” she sighed. “I do not wish to get up from this very comfortable bed.”

Cal chuckled, getting up and walking over to give her a kiss on the forehead. “I’ll go and make you some tea. And you’re welcome to stay there for however long you want.”

Merrin’s eyes closed under his touch, and she made an approving, soft hum. “That would be greatly appreciated.”

“Your usual tea?”

“Yes. Thank you, my Jedi.”

Padmé poured shampoo into her hand, smiling softly. “Tell me again how this… stuff got into your hair, Ani?”

He laughed, capturing her un-shampooed hand and bringing it to his lips. “The mission went… awry.”

“And you didn’t have the decency to clean up before coming into our home?” She began lathering the soap into his hair, biting back giggles at how sticky the black goo was. “I hope this doesn’t stain your hair.”

“Force, that would suck,” Anakin groaned.

She worked in silence after that, gently massaging and rinsing his hair. With a few breaks for kisses, of course.

Kaeden huffed, bandaging up Ahsoka’s leg where a cut had become infected. It was one thing that she never went to the medbay, it was another that she apparently never properly cleaned it.

“So… Is it safe to assume you’re mad?” Ahsoka sheepishly asked.

Kaeden didn’t reply, but when she closed the medkit she made sure to slam it. 

“Can I still have a kiss?”

Kaeden looked up from where she was kneeled down, face deadpan.

“Ohh-kay.” Ahsoka said, looking very guilty.

Kaeden finished wrapping her leg and as she stood up, she kissed Ahsoka’s forehead. “Let’s go to bed.”

“Please, Trilla?” Cal begged, eyes wide.

“No, you are not getting anything from me.”

From her peripheral, Trilla saw Merrin’s smirking face. 

“Would you get it for me, my love?” Merrin asked, tracing circles on her arm as she did so. Trilla was not beneath using physical touch to get what she wanted, but did Merrin have to?

“Absolutely not.” Trilla paused, eyebrows knitted in confusion. “You don’t even wear ponchos. Or pink.”

Merrin shrugged. “I think our lovely Cal deserves it.”

“I wholeheartedly agree.” Cal nodded vigorously. “Please?”

Trilla felt her resolve crash, and she sighed, grabbing credits. “Here.”

Chapter Text

Under the blankets, cocooned from the world, Padmé held Sabé’s hands.

Despite the darkness, Sabé could see Padmé clearly. She knew Padmé, inside and out. 

Padmé’s hands were warm. It sometimes struck Sabé how similar Padmé was to the Nabooian sun. Their lights seeped into her skin, her bones. She wanted to soak up every last ray.

But they were confined to the darkness, away from prying eyes and speculation and news articles that’d slander the name ‘Amidala.’ 

So for now, Padmé would hold Sabé’s hands in the dark. Sabé dreamed of the day they’d step into the sun together.
