”I know that it’s selfish, the way that I get jealous. Every time they talk to you, I know they’re gonna fall for you.”
Minghao was seated happily at the dining table, waiting for chef Junhui to serve up the hotpot.
“Haoooo, food’s ready!”
Upon settling the steaming, mouth watering pot on the table, the two Chinese wasted no time and dug in right away. The cosy apartment was suddenly very quiet, leaving the slurping and gulping loud.
“Did you check on Mingyu?” “I did like 2 hours ago before he started the event.”
Jun had his chopsticks on one hand, stuffing himself with a mouthful of noodles before opening Weibo. It wasn’t hard to find pictures and videos of Minghao’s young, handsome man in the feed.
Everything seemed to look good, until he came across a hot topic tagged “Mingyu and Lis”. The page was swarmed with Mingyu and Lis posing for the media, but what caught Junhui’s attention was their interaction.
The pair’s actions were rather odd to comment on. Lis was seen to flirtatiously wink at Mingyu, while leaning forward towards him, in quite a seductive posture.
This caused a frown upon Junhui, though Mingyu showed no interest towards her acts. He put away his phone, and tried to focus on the boiling soup instead of the incident, praying that Minghao would not acknowledge it.
Unfortunately, Minghao is very observant.
“What’s wrong, Jun?” “Oh nothing, just you know…” “Wait! You just reminded me to check on Gyu. There are photos on Weibo already, right?”
Junhui looked gravely at Minghao, watching uneasily of every single movement: he clicked on his phone, pressed on the eye icon, typing in the familiar name… Minghao smiled in admiration, a swell of pride swarmed up his chest upon seeing his charming boyfriend under the spotlight.
He scrolled and scrolled, pressing likes to them and secretly keeping a collection of the handsome face in his private album named “M <3”. And that’s when he saw the videos.
Junhui was still very anxious when he slurped another mouthful of noodles. Minghao clicked into the video, glad that Mingyu was finally meeting new people and befriending celebrities, and someone that is a world class K-pop star like Lis, who was the number one solo female artist nowadays in the industry.
The first video was of the duo taking a photo, and then, he saw it .
Minghao does not like to show his emotions, therefore he remained calm throughout it. He didn’t even flinch when the lady lay a suggestive hand on Mingyu’s shoulder.
“Jun ah,” Minghao said, putting his phone down, “do you mind if I rest early? You can go find Wonwoo hyung, I’m sure he’s very willing to watch the drama with you.” “Yeah of course, but you’re sure you’re fine on your own?” “I’m just… tired. Go. Have fun.” Jun picked up his coat and gently closed the door behind him, though he was still very worried about Minghao’s condition.
Minghao left the kitchen light on, immersing himself into the darkness of the apartment. He hugged his knees against himself, burying his head in between his arms, curling himself up like a helpless child.
Minghao had a hunch that someday he’ll have to face this situation.
Mingyu was a born superstar, his prominent features and gifted talents in acting made him an icon loved by thousands and millions of fans. It was a coincidence that a street painter like him would cross roads with an international celebrity.
They met 2 years on the streets of Seoul, when Minghao was only finding inspirations to his new assignment, he never thought that he would leave a piece of his heart on this land where his lover came from.
At that time, Mingyu was still a nobody in dramas, trying to perform his best in every character he received, regardless if he was a passenger on the subway or a dead body on the battleground.
They were both romantic characters, and they fell in love, hard, within a week. At least, Minghao did.
Minghao witnessed the uprising of his boyfriend. He was there when Mingyu’s acting clip in a TV show hit one million views. He was there when a well-known label decided to sign Mingyu. He was there when Mingyu’s first drama as the leading male role premiered. He was there when Mingyu’s first movie hit a surprising ticket box record. He was there when Mingyu won his first award.
2 years. So many things happened within 2 years.
Minghao knew he was being ignorant. He pretended not to see many things.
Since Mingyu’s fame exploded, things have changed. Minghao ignored the many dates Mingyu rejected due to work. Minghao ignored the many nights he would fall asleep to find that the bed was as cold as it was. Minghao ignored the strong scent of alcohol and or even a stealthy lipstick on his shirt.
He knew it wasn’t easy for Mingyu either. He could see the dark circles beneath his eyes and how easily he could get sick due to unstable eating habits and many drinking parties.
Mingyu agreed they would keep their relationship secret. And Minghao had to bear with his identity as a hidden lover of a public figure.
Minghao knew, Mingyu would never belong to him fully. He was too good to be fully his. He doesn't deserve that.
Mingyu doesn’t deserve him. He deserves more than that. He should be the best actor, the most well-known icon, and he shall have everything. One day, he’ll get a pretty wife, and a cute child. The perfect life for a perfect man. Minghao was only an accident in his life.
“I’ve been tryna fake it, can’t take another minute. I look at them look at you, wonder who you’re gonna choose.”
Just as Minghao sat long enough, he got up to look for a change of clothes. He didn’t get used to the tidiness of the wardrobe that was once messy like a pile of random clothing. Until his manager said that it’s better for them to separate their belongings to avoid scandals. Minghao picked up a boxer, shorts and towel, and hesitantly reached and took a white t-shirt from the other side of the wardrobe that did not belong to him.
Minghao did not enjoy baths. At least not when he’s alone. He quickly got out of the water and changed. He slipped the large t-shirt over his head, as the wide stretched fabric extended to his elbows and covering half of his thighs. He gently hugged himself in the oversized shirt, hoping to cling to the scent of the owner. In contrast to Minghao’s slim body profile, Mingyu’s t-shirt reminded him of the possessive hugs that his boyfriend liked to give him.
As Minghao settled in bed, he dared to turn on his phone again. When seeing how Mingyu shined in the middle of the crowd, all the admiring eyes on him, and all the wonderful people around him. Yes, that’s where he should belong: the star shining with the other star surrounding it. He does not deserve the light to shine on him only.
It was 2am. A tall figure quietly entered the silent, dark apartment, laying his coat down and opened the door knob without a problem despite the dark.
After cleaning himself up, the broad man crept up to the other side of the enormous bed, and laid next to Minghao who curled himself up in the duvets.
Mingyu habitually wrapped his strong arms around his boyfriend’s slender torso, encircling him into his own dominative territory.
As he gently placed a kiss on his lover’s forehead, he was not content to see his dear Hao frown in his dreams. He kept Minghao within his embrace until he could not battle to keep himself awake, giving up to sleep.
“Arg!” Minghao woke up all in a sudden, heaving his chest up and down from breathing heavily. Beads of sweat trickled down his skin, soaking up his t-shirt.
As Minghao tried to remove Mingyu’s arm from his hips, Mingyu only seemed to tighten his grip, holding on to Minghao like holding on to his favourite doll. He could only give in on struggling out of his hug for the sake of Mingyu’s sleeping quality.
But when Minghao tried to fall asleep again, his mind was only filled with the terrific nightmare of being abandoned by his lover. It was quite a cheesy scene which he recalled, being in a party, with Lis holding onto Mingyu’s arm, a victorious smile on her lips. And there’s his man, shaking off Minghao’s hand, coldly rejecting him, and those icy words that were being spoken: “I had never loved you.”
8am. The sun had barely risen when Minghao decided to wake up from his restless sleep. He gently pushed Mingyu to the side, letting him continue to snore peacefully and loudly, while he quietly sneaked to the kitchen for his morning tea.
Mingyu is used to hugging something while he sleeps, a big stuffed doll when he was a kid, and now Minghao. Mingyu slowly bit by bit recovered from his drowsiness, when he found that he was holding onto bed sheets instead of a warm body. He ruffled his messy hair and led himself towards the living room, where he saw a familiar, slim figure busy in the kitchen.
The only decent breakfast that Minghao can manage to make was a bowl of cereal, or just order something down the street as chef Kim was the one in charge of feeding his boyfriend.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around Minghao’s torso, while a kiss had been placed on the nape of his neck. “Would you let me make your breakfast sweetheart? Let me make you something hot, or your weak stomach shall suffer badly.”
“When did you get back?” Minghao didn’t struggle as Mingyu turned him around and embraced him in his arms. “Where’s my morning kiss, darling?” Before Minghao could protest he was held tightly and lips met, tongues locked.
Unconsciously Minghao puts his hands on top of Mingyu’s beefy chest, and accepts all the tenderness and aggression from Mingyu’s kiss.
With a playful smile, Mingyu led the tiny palm on his chest down to his torso, where Minghao could feel the muscular body and his boyfriend’s perfect body shape. His cheeks flushed to Mingyu’s favourite red.
“Don’t be a pervert, Mingyu.” Minghao stuttered, turning his attention back to his food. Mingyu took the spatula away from Minghao and pushed him out of the kitchen. “Why don’t you check on the laundry? Leave cooking to me,” said Mingyu, showing the prominent canines of his signature smile.
Minghao left for the bedroom, collecting the clothes needed for washing, picking up those elegant clothes, which contrasted to the loose, natural coloured loungewear that Minghao usually wear in the household.
And a note sheet fell out from the shirt pocket of Mingyu’s extravagantly designed shirt provided by the brand for yesterday’s activity. Minghao picked up the paper, only to see a short message scribbled in a hurry: meet me in room 419, the numbers sealed with a red pressed shape of the lips.
Minghao didn’t need to doubt that the note was left from the other main attention in the party: superstar Lis.
It’s not that Minghao was overthinking, but such two equally outstanding people could be easily attracted to each other, and a relationship would not have surprised the public.
At that moment, emotion clouded over reason. Minghao was too overwhelmed by the sudden information that Mingyu was leaving him.
“It’s what I expected. I knew this day would come. Just a bit too early.” Minghao spoke quietly to his own heart, which was swelling with so much pain.
Minghao’s brain was not functioning. It’s like all the wires that he relied on all his life short-circuited. All his consciousness left just told him it was the time for him to step out of the game, as the true winner was coming.
“It’s time to go home.”
A streak of tear rolled down on his porcelain cheek, and Minghao quickly wiped it away with the back of his hand, but tears just kept falling and he had to wash his face in cold water to avoid Mingyu to see his puffy and red eyes.
Ring! Minghao’s sharp ringtone pierced through the air, and with shaky hands, he picked up the call.
“Hello?” “Hello, is this Mr Xu? I would like to confirm your booking for the dinner tonight at 7pm?” “Oh! Yes, may I get back to you later?”
Upon declining the call, Minghao approached the calendar in their shared bedroom, flipped the page to reveal a heart drawn over the very day: it was their anniversary.
How cliche. Fate was toying him around.
Minghao decided to have the anniversary dinner. One last time.
“Honey, breakfast’s ready!”
Minghao quickly took care of the laundry, stuffing the notepaper to his pockets, and hurried out to the dining table, to see a scrumptious meal prepared, extravagant for an early snack.
When Minghao sat and sipped from his oatmeal, he asked Mingyu about dinner that night, but was careful not to spill the anniversary occasion.
“Sure! Send me the address, I’ll be there.” Mingyu said cheerfully. Was he planning something so he stayed ignorant or he really did forget about it? Minghao kept his thoughts to himself, while the pair ate in silence, peaceful yet tension stirred in between the empty air.
“Darling, I have to run to the workshop for some paperworks that needs my approval for the next event. Will you be fine with yourself? I think I’ll meet you directly at the restaurant.” Mingyu finished his breakfast, standing up to grab his bag.
“I promise I’ll be quick. Call Jun hyung if you feel bored.” Minghao was given a hard squeeze behind his back, when he stayed seated, he lifted his head up, just to catch Mingyu’s lips with his.
“사랑해 (I love you)” “나도 (Me too)”
After Mingyu’s departure, Minghao went to work on his pieces, trying to clear his mind, but he was aware how bothered he was with his jumbled feelings, evident with all the dull colours contrasting to his once brilliantly painted canvas.
He peeked on the clock, to find time had passed by, the sun already setting in the horizon out of the apartment window. Minghao stretched himself in front of the easel, taking off his smock, and turned to find something to wear.
When he searched the wardrobe, he pulled out some light colour washed jeans, and a plain white tee and a suit jacket to wear over, simple but stunning, casual but formal. Minghao grabbed the car keys and drove around 20 minutes to the destination. While Mingyu was always fashionably late due to his work, Minghao likes to be on time to arrive 10 minutes before the supposed start time.
A waiter led him inside the fancy diner, where Minghao had booked a private suite room so their privacy could be kept out of the public eye. As he sat down, he sent a text message to inform his boyfriend of the suite number. Next, he ordered some wine, which was a shared hobby the couple had.
Then he waited. And waited. And waited some more. It had been 45 minutes, and there was still no sign of Mingyu. By that time, Minghao had already finished 3 glasses of wine. He started to get impatient but worried, Mingyu hadn’t been replying to his messages.
Minghao was about to send another text when a notification prompted out. It was Jun. He sent a post over. Clicking on it, the red headlines read: Star Kim Mingyu seen dating singer Lis at hotel today. There wasn’t much caption, just silhouette shots of the couple lurking nearby a hotel in town.
“No, this can’t be true… He can’t cheat off me on our anniversary…” The sudden emotion rollercoaster made Minghao unable to think reasonably. He felt dizzy, the reality feeling surreal to him.
He fumbled on his phone to call Mingyu, and of course, the line was busy. Then, he called Junhui. It was picked up within seconds. “Haohao?” “Jun…” And tears fell, the soft liquid falling hard out of those watery eyes.
“ I really don’t know what to do… I loved him, all these years…” Minghao spoke to his Chinese hyung in their native language. “ I know, Minghao. We are all witnesses… How about going back to Hai Cheng for some time? Clear up your mind, get over it.” “Yeah, I guess so… Thank you Junhui. But please don’t tell Mingyu.” “Of course not! Imma beat him up like a sandbag.” “Junhui! Just help me take care of him… just a little…” “You see? You still care for him! He deserves a punch.” “Okay, fine, just one.” Minghao giggled through his wet cheeks.
Minghao forgot how he arrived at the apartment, and started stuffing clothes and necessities into a suitcase. While he tidied up his belongings, he realised how their lives had been tangled up together in every way, like two ropes, scrambled up together for so long, when you want to pull one out, it was merely impossible.
Junhui had already booked the nearest flight back to China as Minghao zipped up his bags. When he scanned their shared bedroom, he laid eyes on that photograph they took on their first anniversary. Gently tucking a note inside the frame, he left his keys at the bed stand and proceeded out. Dramatically he should have taken off his ring but they weren’t even that far and serious in their relationship, Minghao smiled sadly.
“Goodbye Kim Mingyu. Thank you for everything in these 2 years. And… I love you.”
“You and I both know, I'll probably let you go. I've been holding on too long, Now everybody wants you”
Mingyu was seated frustratedly and helplessly in his manager’s office.
One, his manager needed to confirm his artist’s stand in this affair rumour, which the company sort of wanted him to keep the ambiguous relationship with Lis so as to gain fame. Though Mingyu was strictly against this. Unfortunately, his phone and all communication tools were removed from his company.
Mingyu unconsciously started chewing on his nails, he was very worried about Minghao who he could not contact, and remembering the dinner date that he missed. He hoped his boyfriend wasn’t too distressed about his disappearance.
“Mingyu ssi, are you sure to decline this offer?” “Yes. Even though my relationship with Minghao is a secret, I don’t want to cheat on him.” Mingyu gave a very determined stance. His manager could only sigh but to respect his decision. He knew Mingyu was a potential superstar, but the only flaw was, he was a romanticist.
While the company still needed his phone for managing his social media, Mingyu dashed to the nearest desk telephone he could find, and dialled the number he remembered by heart.
“...Please call again or leave a voice message…” Mingyu started to get worried after the fourth unresponded call. He decided to run home to check on Minghao, who would never miss a call more than 3 times unless…
The thought worried him even more as he fumbled with his keys to open the damn door, there was no sign of the familiar figure who would always wait for him at the couch. The 187cm guy panicked. And he had absolutely no idea where his lover was. Minghao never leaves without giving him a clue of where he could be.
His last instinct was to call Wonwoo, who would have Jun and who should know where Minghao. His phone was still on dial when he was already rushing towards Wonwoo and Junhui’s shared apartment a few blocks away.
“Hey man, what’s up?” Wonwoo was on his way back when he picked up the phone, and coincidentally met Mingyu huffing and puffing under his apartment. “I need to find Jun hyung. Now.” Was all he managed to speak. Wonwoo shrugged, confused, but led the way.
“Junnie, Mingyu wants to find-” As Wonwoo opened the wooden doors, Mingyu was the one who came in first, and bumped face-to-face with Junhui, who looked very agitated. “Jun hyung, where’s-!”
SLAP!
Everyone in the room was shocked. Wonwoo was frozen. Junhui showed much anger through his eyes, staring straight at the one being slapped. He obviously did not expect himself to react in such a way. And Kim Mingyu’s mind went blank, the spicy feeling on his cheeks recalling his consciousness.
“You cheater, liar! You don’t deserve Haohao at all!” Junhui’s voice was hoarse, choking his words in his tears. Wonwoo went up to comfort his kitten, trying to understand the tense situation. “What did I do! Where’s Haohao!” Mingyu sounded being accused and desperate, angering Junhui even more.
“You scumbag! Don’t you know exactly what you did?” Junhui was definitely crying now. “What did I do?” Mingyu was never that devastated, he really didn’t know what happened. And Junhui obviously had only taken into account Minghao's perspective.
Junhui did not reply to him, with Wonwoo hugging his boyfriend from the behind, looking concerned about the pair’s condition. “Please… hyung…” Mingyu dropped to his knees without warning. Tears were streaming down his face. Mingyu had never been that hopeless to realise his lover was missing.
“You cheated on him for that bitch! That’s what he did. He loved you so much and betrayed him for that woman, if you don’t love him just don’t play with his love in the first place!” Junhui exclaimed, burying himself into the arms of Wonwoo.
“Cheated? No… no! I never cheated on him, I love Minghao. That woman came to me herself, and I rejected her every time!” “What about that news at the hotel?” “I didn’t know it was her! She used the name of an actor colleague that I befriended before and she showed up instead of him. Please, believe me, I loved Minghao, I love Minghao, and will still love him despite anything.” Mingyu’s head hung low in his kneeling position.
Wonwoo, who stayed quiet all the time, spoke up, “I can prove that. He really loves Minghao fully. He can’t fake that.” “He can’t be forgiven, he still broke Minghao’s heart.” Junhui muttered tiredly on Wonwoo’s shoulder, but clearly convinced by his lover’s words.
“So, please, where can I find him to beg for my forgiveness?” “He went back… home .”
Mingyu was so thunderstruck. He couldn’t believe how hurtful it was to Minghao to flee back to where he belonged, and Minghao couldn’t trust him to be his home. He did wrong, very wrong.
When the drama was over, a part of his mind told him to immediately get a ticket to China, but another side argued that Minghao does not want to see him at the moment.
Back at their apartment, there was nothing to remind him of another being used to live there. It was empty of Minghao’s presence. Upon entering the bedroom, the only thing that caught his eye was the photograph. The last one present. Tears started to fall again. If he was to never see his lover again, would that be the only thing he could tell his love story that was the most amazing thing that happened to him?
Mingyu was doing some serious reflection. He admitted that he had been ignoring Minghao lately, being so busy at work, and Minghao was still so thoughtful. When he glanced at the calendar, he realised how he had let Minghao down again. It was their anniversary and he completely forgot. He wished he could slap himself awake to pay more attention to Minghao if he could turn back time.
And that’s when Wonwoo called. “Hyung…” “Go. Find him. Do what you will do as if it’s the first time you pursued him. That’s what he loved about you.” “Thanks Woo.”
Mingyu packed quickly, leaving out things that weren't necessary, as his flight was 3 hours later. Though he did make a last minute note to stuff a velvet square box into his bag.
“Minghao, please don’t leave me, how can I go on without you?”
“We're running out of time, so if I'm on your mind, tell me what you're gon' do, 'cause everybody wants you.”
Hai Cheng is big.
Mingyu just realised how much he doesn’t know about Minghao. He never knew his address, or seen his parents or even understood anything about his past life.
Minghao couldn’t move home as his parents were still clueless about his relationship with Mingyu.
They, unnoticed of each other’s presence, mutually stopped at the nearest park, which ironically, there is no sea at the city of ocean.
Maybe that’s what soulmates means.
Mingyu was trotting in between the sidewalks, the sun slowly going out of sight, his hope slowly dying out with the sun. He hung his head low, hands in pockets, not aware of what’s before.
And, he crashed into someone. “Ow!” The figure was so light that the little bump from Mingyu could send him flying.
“Oh god… I’m so sor-” “Mingyu?”
Of course, how could Mingyu not recognise that body that he held for so many nights, those pale cheeks, the curve of the lip, everything he couldn’t forget about.
Minghao was completely caught off guard. He wondered if he should smack or kiss the clumsy man before him.
They stared at each other, and Minghao lost. He would always lose to Mingyu’s gaze. Lacing his fingers through the latter’s, Minghao dragged him away from the main path.
The only thing Mingyu could focus on at that moment was how the small palm was in his, the familiar warmth he wanted to hold on. He knew he couldn’t take all this as granted, he didn’t want to repeat the same fatal mistake.
They finally stopped at a quiet corner of the park, when Minghao took a deep breath to release Mingyu’s palm, he found he couldn’t. “Mingyu, let go.” “No.” “Mingyu, please. It’s over. You made your choice and I made mine. We’re over.” Damn, Minghao thought, why can I stop myself from tearing up…
“Minghao, I know I did you wrong, very wrong which I can’t even forgive myself but, please, can you just let me explain, and then you can do whatever you want with me, break my heart and take it away with you, or let me try to glue yours back.”
Mingyu didn’t even notice that his body and voice started to shake so vigorously, which could turn into sobs, but he held it back. This is not the time to act weak. If Minghao decided to leave him, he knew he had to accept it, which was entirely his fault of ruining him.
He felt Minghao’s eyes on him. His final judgement is coming.
But his angel was a forgiving one.
“So you didn’t cheat on me?” “No, never! Why would you think of that?”
“Gyu, you should’ve just dumped me and be with that famous girl and eventually find someone better and have a perfect life instead-”
Minghao was stopped as Mingyu pulled him into a desperate hug, holding the Chinese tightly against his chest.
“Oh, Haohao, why would you think of that… I wouldn’t trade you off for anything else in the world… She approached me and I declined, but she tricked me into seeing her again, and I didn’t even get a chance to explain myself…”
It was such a huge relief. Minghao wrapped his own arms around Mingyu’s neck, snuggling himself into his warm chest. Minghao just needed Mingyu to deny everything, and he would forgive him no matter what. It’s all his love and trust he puts in Mingyu.
“Even though I am going to tell you this one thousand times every day, Kim Mingyu loves and will always love Xu Minghao. Never doubt that.”
Mingyu looked down, smiling at those eyes that he would never get tired of looking at, and positioned his lips on top of the latter’s. It was a sincere, loving kiss. They took their time, devouring the taste of each other, their mouths fitting so well together like two long lost puzzle pieces.
The heated kiss slowly became lustful and arousal, as Mingyu’s enormous palms wandered around Minghao’s svelte hips. Pressing his lips to the Chinese’s ears, “I missed you a lot, did you know? I haven’t touched you in two weeks…” “Well,” Minghao struggled to voice out, “you have a whole night to do whatever you want with me, do you?”
“And I wish that you would look at me the way you're looking at your own reflection.”
It was a night of romance and fury. Minghao barely remembered that he fainted after their fourth session or so. He could feel the sunlight shining gently through the hotel window, providing warmth to his bare skin. Of course he was completely undressed, only the white sheets covering up his divine body.
“Baby, are you awake?” Following the sound of an opening door, Mingyu, who was dressed in a t-shirt and pants, walked in with a glass of warm milk. Setting the glass aside, he approached his lover with an intimate embrace. “Minghao, I… have something to ask you…”
The way he regarded him made his stomach flip. Mingyu would never call him like that unless it was something concerning. “What is it?” “Well… I know I had been a pretty shitty boyfriend and I messed everything up and I totally do not deserve you but you were so kind to receive me and accept all my bad habits and-” “Mingyu honey slow down, you’re gonna hallucinate.” Minghao chuckled gently, knowing that his boyfriend starts rapping when he gets nervous.
“The point is! Xu Minghao, my one and only lover in this world,” Mingyu took a deep breath, “will you marry me?” Minghao thought he got it wrong, but no. The future superstar, one of a kind actor, the man adored by millions of pretty girls in the world, was kneeling before him, a ring box being produced out of nowhere, and the golden Bvlgari ring shining its brightest colours.
How could he say no? “Yes! But Gyu, can’t I at least look a bit more decent when you propose to me? I literally just woke up and as far as I am aware, I am naked.” “It’s fine,” Mingyu slided the golden circlet through Minghao’s slender ring finger, “I can propose so many times until you are satisfied.”
“I love you Gyu.” “I love you too Hao.”
Epilogue
“My gosh Haohao, your man is getting richer by the day! There’s no way you wealthy couple are not treating their dear friends to a hotpot, right?” “Yayaya, you’ve been using this reason for the third time this month! Jun, if I got broke someday, you are a major reason.”
In Mingyu’s third leading role movie, the ticket sales had been rocketing ever since. With a bit of a plot twist, the notice that announced Mingyu and Minghao’s marriage actually built a better personality profile to the actor, receiving praise to his genuine and romantic character.
Minghao is a painter after all, a half public figure, and people can’t help but to know more about the famous actor’s lover. They were thankful that the fans did not over bother their daily lives, but thanks to Mingyu, Minghao’s potentially amazing artworks were receiving more attention from the industry, making quite a sum in a month.
xuminghao_o: Hey, wanna meet for hotpot tonight?
min9yu_k: sure! Send me the address, I’ll be there! [kiss]
At 7pm, Mingyu was escorted into the restaurant through their back door, to the private suite where they always book due to their identity. He was not surprised to see two figures so focused scrambling for food in between the smoke.
“Hi, Gyu. You’re just in time for the beef.” Giving his husband a kiss on the cheek, he settled Mingyu on the chair next to him, and went back to his “battle” with Junhui.
“Where’s Wonwoo?” “Unfortunately, work.” Who would have thought Mingyu and Minghao’s best friends were head over heels for each other. Minghao was happy for his hyung, he acted even more cheerful than before. “When are you guys going for a honeymoon?” “Next week, after the final promotions for the movie.” Mingyu answered while slurping his noodles.
“Ai, I wonder when Wonwoo and I will go for our honeymoon…” “Chill, Jun hyung, you guys just started dating for three months.” “And at least you two had been through ups and downs, I can finally put my dear Hao into your arms as I know he will be safe.” “I promise. Nothing will ever change my heart.” Upon that, Mingyu held up Minghao’s hand, placing a chaste kiss on the golden ring, engraved “M.M”.
Everybody wants me, but you are all I desire.
End.
