Chapter Text

The sound echoed around the area, the sound of flesh against flesh.

Ragged breathing escapes the half blinded male as he keeps his hand raised, glaring at a shocked brunette who seems frozen while a red mark bloomed on his cheek.

"If I ever here you calling someone a bully again... you will fucking answer to me, Twilight. We all can take care of ourselves and don't need you being some overprotective BITCH!"

Taking a deep breath, Rinku snatches the papers out of the Deity's hands and tears them to shreds. Fierce has to take a step back from the glare on the younger man's face.

"Rinku-"

"Stay away from my brother, you bastard. You think you just have the right to try and parent him? You think you have the right to control Mask right now the way you are? You make me fucking sick and if it weren't for the fact that you're inhibiting the kid's body with that trash mask, I'd punch you. You're not his father, not mine either. I can handle Link on my own and I never asked for your "help". You help on the battle field and I can appreciate that. Anything else is not asked for nor welcomed."

Rinku looks over the group sick to their stomachs. He had just come back from slapping Flora and Purah for assuming Twilight told them the truth when they fucking knew Wild hated spending time at the lab and being treated like a test subject.

He doesn't see Twilight anywhere and turns on his heel sharply to find him. He likes helping with the sheep he remembers.

And when he finds him...

Twilight grunts as he's shoved to the ground. He stares up at Rinku in shock, the half blinde male glaring right back.

"Next time I see you as Wolfie? All your fur is getting shaved off. YOU are the one who played with the puppies who had fleas because you couldn't wait ten minutes to be warned. You could have taken the bath alone if it weren't for that and what happened with Wild and your stupid bedroll was an ACCIDENT. And you think it's okay to just trick, lie and make people physically sick in response for a fucking BATH?"

He doesn't let the other respond as he leans closer and grabs his tunic, pulling them face to face.

"Shaved. Clean. I see that wolf again and everyone gets to know what a furless wolf looks like and good luck explaining where your hair goes when you change back." Dropping him, he turns around and stalks off, calling over his shoulder.

"By the way, I'm telling Sky why he got dragged into an hours-long conversation over cuccos and Hyrule that you lied. Prick."

Scarlet takes a deep breath, "As you are bound by the mortal laws of this land as queen, so too I am bound, by the title of 'Guardian of the Weary Hero'." He steps closer to the trembling queen, his expression like stone except for the fire in his eyes.

"As such, I am bound to punish all who harm the hero, regardless of their reasoning. You had him whipped and his honor taken, logic dictates I should do the same to you." His eyes crinkle in a humorless grin.

"Fortunately for you, I don't feel like raising a hand towards you..." Before relief could be felt, he raises a hand and snaps his fingers, the queen screaming in pain moments after with her main guard, who had been frozen until now, doing the same.

"Unfortunately for you, raising magic is just fine. You now have every mark your punisher laid upon him laid upon your own body. No potion nor spell will heal them, they will heal on their own, leaving scars as a reminder of your ugly laws." Another snap and locks of hair soon scatter the ground.

"You cut his hair as a way to take his honor... so now you have the same done to you. There is no honor in punishing your hero after the war is won, after he's already punished himself for the lives lost due to his arrogance, and yet you did it anyway. Your hair will take three times as long to grow as it would have naturally."

Turning on his heel, he heads out of the throne room, calling over his shoulder. "Pray to the Three we never meet again, for the Fourth will always back his acolytes."

Now... to find that poor man.

There's a crashing noise causing Wars to wince as his head throbbed and both Sky and Twilight look over in alarm.

The 'Bad Brain Box' was completely destroyed. The mug carelessly on it's side, Wars' bed roll rolled up once more, the logs chopped into pieces.

And a completely unrepentant Raine standing there, folding their arms and glaring at the upset group.

"Put. My. Brother. Down. Before I give you both a migraine." They snarled quietly.

"Raine-" Sky started to protest only to grunt as he's shoved hard. 

"Save it, you brat." They hissed. "You think just cause you're the chosen hero, you're the strongest? You think you can intimidate my brother to get your way? And you" They turned to Twilight who took a step back.

"Put him down, you fucking mutt, before I muzzle you."

There was a loud cracking sound and a shout of pain as Sky let go of Legend and now everyone else, wide awake, turned to stare at Rin in shock.

She said nothing, scooping up her twin and walking away. Then paused, turning to look at all of them, disgust on her face.

"You ever heard of crutches, you stupid ignorant bastards? Broken foot or not, he can move and if you pull this shit again, I'll happily break your legs like I just did Sky's wrist. You think you're being all nice and concerned? You're just being overbearing demanding pieces of garbage."

"Also," she continues, turning her attention to Hyrule. "Continue to act like you can boss anyone here around just because you can heal is going to end with my bandana around your mouth." She smiles as the brunette grimaces. "So shut it."

He scrubs his face in irritation, tuning out the scolding he's getting. Blah, blah, blah, you shouldn't go off on your own, blah, blah, blah, you're a child, yadda yadda.

"I'm 19." He replies flatly once there's silence. "My brother is also 19. If we want to go out and fight monsters, we do not have to tell you. Because contrary to oh so popular belief, Warriors, you are not in charge of us." He turns his flat gaze up at the angry and worried older man. "Contrary to popular belief, Time is not in charge of us either, imagine that." He puts a hand to his forehead and mockingly swoons, gracefully stepping back.

"It's almost as if, gasp, we are our own people! It's almost as if, oh I don't know, we're the fucking veterans! It's almost as if we know what we're doing, we do not need anyone except each other looking out for us when we're on our own!"

"And YOU!" He turns to a startled Twilight who just came back with his twin who looks upset but somewhat comforted. "Don't think I don't know what you did, Twilight. Don't think I don't know you pulled the big brother card and how you feel oh so bad for us for doing this since we were young and how we shouldn't have to. Heard it before, don't want to hear it again and if you take Link away to say that ever again, I'll burn your pelt."

Rinku stares blankly into the flames.

The so called 'flock leader' used commands.

He called his twin a hatchling.

He made him submit, made him obey.

He had been so close to getting Link to listen to him and then Time opened his fucking mouth and forced him.

It doesn't matter if he was crying or felt bad about it.

He still fucking did it.

It makes his blood boil.

Link is resting with the other two and Rinku has to resist the urge to pull him away from them. 

His ears twitch as he hears Link shift and his gaze immediately snaps to him. He hears Time shift, the older on watch and immediately he bares his teeth at the other.

"Stay the fuck away from him."

"Rinku-"

"No, you did enough damage you bastard."

"His wing is broken, I'd rather he and you hate me than him losing that wing and he would have-"

"I had him." He hisses, interrupting him harshly. "He was listening to me, he was calming down, and then you opened your mouth and placed him on the bottom rung, you used submit commands."

HATE YOU HATE YOU HATE YOU! His tone screams and Time recoils, pain obvious in his eyes.

"Rinku please, understand-"

"I understand plenty." He snaps. "So understand me when I say this; You are no longer our leader. You don't deserve it. I don't care how bad you feel, I don't care if you didn't mean it when you placed him at the bottom of the flock, you hurt Link. You hurt him and I've had enough fuckers hurting my twin. I didn't think I'd ever have to add anyone here on that list, but you managed to surprise me. It was wrong of you, it was monstrous of you, I don't care your fucking reasoning and you don't get to play the martyr being like 'Oh I'd rather you hate me than him be hurt'. You think that excuses you? It doesn't."

HATE YOU HATE YOU STAY AWAY HATE YOU

He stands and dusts himself off as he heads over to the nest his twin is in.

"It's only because Hylia keeps us here that we don't leave. Remember that from now on."

Medically necessary, that's what Sky said.

Rinku watches with distaste as they put the captain to bed in a tent.

He knows it's not gonna be pretty tomorrow.

"I hope you know you'll deserve every bit of virtriol he spits at you."

Sky flinches and gives the half blinded male a tired look. "It was necessary, Rinku. He wasn't listening to reason."

"I don't care, you just drained what trust he had in you with that shit you pulled." He shrugs, "Not my problem, but I'm not defending you and I'll stop anyone else from defusing the situation. Time especially."

Said leader looks at him sharply and Rinku meets his gaze without flinching.

"You'd tell him not to pick a fight, that Sky was oh so concerned, that he has a right to be upset, but then you'd turn around and tell him how bad it's been and make his feelings feel invalid. I'm not allowing that."

Rinku smiles, but it's without humor.

"And if you try to stop me, let's see how you feel when I knock you and Sky out when you least expect it."

Rinku just deadpans at Hyrule's explanation.

"Yeah no."

The brunette looks at him in surprise with many of the others following suit.

"What?"

"I'm not going to listen to fairies whine about their treatment when they constantly run away from us, not to mention how Wild and I had to pay a total of 11,600 rupees to 'awaken' the Great Fairies in our Hyrule already."

"They're not asking for much-!"

"I don't care." He rubs his temples before turning to leave. "I'll stick to my elixirs. At least they don't end up bitching."

Raine slowly cocks their head, looking between the two. Both clearly upset at the idea of going to town together at Time's 'suggestion'. They've been arguing all day and clearly the man, and the rest of the group, are sick of it.

Standing, they dust themselves off and make their way over, nudging Legend gently. 

"How about you and me go instead?"

"Raine-" Time starts, brow furrowing, but Raine ignores him. "I've got a list ready to go and I wanted to see if I could pick up a few personal things."

Legend snorts despite himself, "Fine, if it'll get me away from the dear captain for a few hours."

"That isn't-"

Raine turns to Time with a raised eyebrow, "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were our dad trying to put two of the kids in time out." The sarcastic tone makes Time frown at them.

"Raine-"

"I'm going to town with Legend. Maybe during that time you'll realize we let you suggest things, not actually tell us what to do and try to make it some kind of punishment or plan to make people get along."

Despite the broken glass, a new customer comes in during the telling off over flowers.

They're ignored until one of the fairies shrieks in alarm causing heads to whip over to them. It's revealed the blonde male has another fairy held in his clearly gentle but firm grasp.

"You will give back what you stole from my friend. You will apologize to him and reverse the curses you placed on him." His tone is flat and not demanding but not requesting either. His gaze turns to Hyrule.

"And you will also apologize. As a former retail worker, I am disgusted in your behavior. You think just because you're a manager that gives you the right to get magically violent with a customer? I don't care how bad they were acting. Not only that you purposely misgendered him because you think it's funny? Because you wanted to rub in the insult more? How sick in the head do you have to be?"

Hyrule is visibly bristling at this dressing down from clearly another lackey of the Karen but before he can open his mouth, the other steps closer.

"Unless the words out of your mouth are 'I'm sorry, I will apologize for my disgusting behavior and not curse people again unless in self defense', I don't want to hear a word of it. You should be ashamed of yourself."

Chapter Text

Rinku is silent after he hears the news. A buhok... Hylians had been at war with those creatures long before he was born and it had ended before he was born too... but still the tales traveled the land, even after the Calamity. Warnings and hissed curses crossed the lands and then he had met a few unfortunately... and they were just as bad as the rumors said. He still remembers staring at cold lifeless eyes of Hylians who had been killed and their bodies hollowed out by those creatures, trying to live the lives of those they murdered before they were caught and burned or somehow managed to flee to kill again.

And now... now he finds out his boyfriend is one of them. It's like a slap in the face. The man he loves is a killer and doesn't see a damn thing wrong with it.

"Rinku...?" Four's voice is soft and concerned... hell, is his name even actually Link? Do buhoks even have names or do they just steal the ones of the ones they kill?

"Rinku please, talk to me-"

"I have nothing to say to you." His voice is cold causing Four to flinch back, eyes wide with hurt.

"Rinku-"

"Quiet." He shakes his head and chuckles bitterly. "I should have known it was too good to be true. Someone as amazing as you being real and loving me back?"

"I do-!"

"Monsters don't love, Four." His tone is clipped and there's nothing when Four flinches again. "Buhoks are murderers, plain and simple. And you can go the whole route of 'oh that's how I was raised' or 'I'm different!' but you're not, now are you? You killed the person who had this body before you, warped it to your own desires, fooled all of us-"

"Rinku-!" Four's heart is breaking but he reaches out only to yelp in pain as the other man's dagger catches his hand, cutting deep and causing hair to sprout and immediately attempt to fix the wound.

"Don't touch me. Don't talk to me. I'll keep your little secret, but we. Are. Through. I will not stay with someone who thinks killing people and taking over their lives is okay." He stands and sheathes his dagger as he heads off, taking the smith's heart with him.

He pretends to not notice how his own aches from the quiet sobs he hears behind him.

The crack of skin against skin echoed in the room and Link, Hyrule, found himself stumbling back, clutching his cheek as the skin bloomed red.

Rin glared at him, furious tears building in her eyes and rolling down her cheeks.

"You're sick!" She snapped at him, voice quivering with rage. "You're selfish! You're only thinking of yourself even as you lie through your teeth about how happy they'll be being brought back from the DEAD! Where they deserve to REST! And not be tortured by your disgusting ideas!"

"Don't you miss them too?!" The brunette demanded, stepping forward even as he winced at the snarl that escaped his sister. "We could finally see them again!"

"It wouldn't be them, you stupid fuck!" She howled in response. "Haven't you learned by now not to mess with the dead? Don't you remember the redeads? The ghosts? Those trapped and unable to move on?! And you want to do that to them!" She turned around and before he could stop her, she grabbed everything related to his ideas and he could only manage a shout of protest as she burned them to ashes. His blood turned to ice as the next words escaped her mouth

"I thought you were a hero, Link... turns out, you're becoming just as bad as ganon."

Rinku looked at the brunette in heavy disgust

"It feels good? You enjoy hurting other people, killing other people who have done nothing?" He slammed Twilight against the wall, taking satisfaction at the grunt of pain that escaped him.

"You know what? I don't care your fucking reasoning. I don't care if the rest of them get upset with me."

He withdrew one of his daggers and pressed it against the other's throat, watching as crimson beads against the blade. Not hard enough to kill but hard enough to mark.

"I'm going to put you down like the filthy mutt you are."

The crack is audible, barely, under the shout of pain. Wild's head whips up to find his twin standing in front of him, retracting his clenched fist from where he just socked Time in the face, the so called leader forced to stumble back holding his nose.

Rinku snarls at Warriors who is stepping forward, looking murderous, but the ex captain has no fucks to give.

"Go ahead, bitch! Try and fucking hit me!" The scraping sound of the man's dagger being unsheathed causes Wars to falter, clearly taken aback by how truly enraged Rinku sounds. "I'm sick of you pricks thinking you can constantly scold my brother like you have some fucking right! We're already recovering from the previous fight and here you are being fucking morons and telling him off for something that wasn't his fault or intention! It ends HERE AND NOW!" He steps forward, forcing Wars to step back.

"If I ever, EVER, EVER A-FUCKING-GAIN HEAR EITHER OF YOU TELL OFF LINK I'LL CUT YOUR VOCAL CHORDS SO YOU NEVER MAKE A SOUND AGAIN!" He raises his dagger and there's a shout as the blade cuts his palm. He holds it directly out in a 'stop' motion.

"I swear on my blood, as the Fourth's chosen, tell off my brother one more time and you will learn just how far I'll go to protect him. You're not our father and you better start learning to curb your blaming before it gets you in a worse position."

"GET OUT!" The blonde shrieks causing many of them to startle and whirl to face him.

"Rinku! Wha-"

"GET OUT! NOW! GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!" He chases them out of the cave, away from the pressure, away from the glowing blue lights, away from it all.

And when they're out, he turns around and socks Warriors in the jaw.

"WILD TOLD YOU NOT TO GO IN THERE! I TOLD YOU TO RESPECT OUR PRIVACY! AND THE MOMENT WE TURN OUR BACKS, YOU SPIT IN OUR FACES AND GO IN THERE!" He turns to the others who followed the Captain, eyes dark with rage.

"And you bastards followed him! You don't have a right to our story, you don't have a right to know everything or even ANYTHING AT ALL! All of you are sick in the head." The footsteps behind him make him turn to face his twin who is trembling heavily.

"You'll never get the story from either of us. You don't deserve it after this." Taking Wild's hand, he leads him away.

Chapter Text

A grunt of pain escapes Time as he's slammed hard into the ground. He hears Wild sobbing softly and the soft murmurs of Four and Sky trying to soothe him as well as the muffled shouts of Twilight among the growls of Warriors and Legend, the quiet insistence from Hyrule that Wind doesn't want to be here for this even as the sailor protests, sounding hurt and scared, but he can't turn to look.

Not with Rinku glaring down at him, hatred and scorn written all over his face. 

"MONSTER." The half blinded man snarls in his face. "What gave you the right?! To touch him, to do intimate things to him as a punishment?!" Time doesn't get a chance to respond as a sharp crack echoes across the campsite and pain surges through his jaw at the punch.

"You're lower than scum!" Another punch. "Lower than the monster we fight!" A slam into the ground.

He would fight back if he could, but the ropes digging into his wrists and legs prevent it, a point Rinku manages to hatefully taunt him about.

"Not so fun when you're the one helpless, is it?" Time flinches as he hears Twilight scream in pain and the coppery scent of blood taint the air. If anything, Rinku looks satisfied for a brief moment before his expression turns back to a glare.

"What will Malon think when she finds out her husband and descendant are rapists? Because unfortunately for you, none of us will be keeping quiet. She needs to know about the monster she married. Guess Twilight might not even exist after this. What a fucking shame."

Rinku grabs his throat, squeezing hard, "I could kill you right now and by the Four, I fucking want to. I want to so badly! I want to put you what you put my brother through, see how you like it when someone you trust violates you." He squeezes harder earning a raspy gasp from their once leader. "You deserve nothing but pain and nightmares for the rest of your days!" He lets go and sits up, unsheathing his dagger.

"But no... I won't fucking kill you. You don't deserve the sweet release of death... but you'll never be able to do this again to anyone..." He positions dagger in the right spot, raises it high and befor Time even realizes what's about to happen, brings it down.

The crack of skin against skin is audible and it silences Vio's warnings and Red's protests to stop.

Rinku takes the shocked silence to shove Blue off his twin and grab him by his collar.

"Lay a hand on my twin one more time and I will cut it off. I. Don't. Care. That. You're. My. Boyfriend. You are not an exception to my rules, Blue." He lets him drop and pulls Wild firmly to his feet. "We're going to see Twilight. Maybe when you five have your fucking heads on straight, you can join us." He glares at Four's spirit.

"I'm so disappointed in you." With a swish of their cloaks, the twins are gone.

Chapter Text

Everything hurts. Mystery's used to it. He wakes up in pain, he goes to bed in pain. There's nothing to heal, nothing to cure, just constant pains, aching joints, tender muscles, it's all there.

It's a miracle he can goof around the way that he does.

He's been told to take potions, he doesn't.
He's been told to do stretches, he doesn't.
He's been told to take hot baths, he only stays in them long enough to be clean and nothing else.

The only one who knows is History and he knows his twin won't listen to reason. Why, even he's not sure but he supposes 'Mystery' was chosen for his twin for a reason.

Trying to force the issue only brings fighting. A lesson everyone quickly learns when they see the smile on Mystery's face turn to annoyance and then anger soon followed by a loud cracking noise.

"Seems my body works just fine, eh?" He crouches down to the person he just socked, only History seeing the pain in his eyes. "Tell me what to do with my body again and I'll castrate you." He hops up and bounces off.

Only his twin sees the minute flinch with every step.

It's hot and everyone's clearly irritated.

And there's the argument.

Legend's giving as good as he gets until Twilight steps in and goes into a fucking rant at him.

Rinku's eye twitches as he listens, slowly making his way over.

Distantly he hears Four's quiet, "Rinku don't-" but he ignores it as he taps the rancher's shoulder.

The moment the brunette whips around, the ex captain cocks back his fist and slams it into his jaw, soon followed by and elbow to his stomach and a boot to his knee forcing the other to fall. Without blinking, he has one of his daggers out and pressed to his neck, voice ice cold.

"Try to pull me away, I'll make a mark here and now." That shuts up the shouts real fast.

"Now we're all in bad moods right now, it's hot, we've been walking a real long time. And I know, Legend's got an attitude and he takes it out on all of us, it's not right and I'm sure as anything not saying he's in the right for it. But guess what, Twilight? That doesn't give you any right to call him unloveable. That doesn't give you a right to dress him down like he's a child in front of everyone like you're some higher authority." Rinku grabs his hair and pulls harshly, not taking pleasure in the grunt and wince, heterochromia eyes matching the other man's glare.

"Because that opens the gate for me to treat you the same way, mutt. Call him that again and next time I'll verbally tear you to pieces, nitpick everything wrong with you, needle you until you cry, remind you of all your failings." He lets go and withdraws his dagger, sheathing it. 

"I'm tired of you, Time and Wars acting like any of you have a right to scold any of us. Next time I'll react the same, no matter who's talking to who."

Chapter Text

Rin takes Twilight's hand and tugs him away from Time and Warriors. Time was harsh, way too harsh, for something that had been accidental. She could feel the rancher trembling and squeezes his hand gently.

And later when Time tries to interrogate where they had been, she steps in front of Twilight and shoves the older man away from them.

"None of yer fuckin' business, ya creep." Her accent takes over as she snarls at him. She can see the anger, surprise and dissapointment in his eyes, but she isn't moved.

"Ya had the fuckin' balls to rip into my brother like what happened wit Wars was on purpose and told him to go away and now ya think ya have the right to demand things from him? I don't care wha's goin' on. It ain't my business what happened to Wars, but I'll be damned if I let ya talk to my brother like that without consequences."

"Rin-"

"Shut up!" She snaps at Time, "I ain't finished with ya! Ya act like ya got a right to be cruel when ya don't and it's only because Twi respects ya so much that I don't punch ya in yer fuckin' face! As it is, unless yer gonna apologize to him, ya don't have a right to be near him! Ya hurt him and ya don't even care, ya MONSTER!"

It's the final word that takes the winds out of Time's sails as he actually takes a step back from the venom in her voice and in her eyes.

"Go focus on Wars and ignore everyone else, Time. Yer good at that." She spits before taking Twilight's arm and guiding him away.

Chapter Text

"You let... a child help you." Rinku says softly and that's the only warning everyone gets before he slaps Time hard across the face, nails digging in to leave bloody marks. There's yelps around them, but the man doesn't care as he grabs the other's collar and drags him down so they're eye to eye.

"If your little guard bitch touches me, I'll castrate him." He warns and Time's eyes flick to an enraged Twilight.

"Twilight, stand down."

"Time-!"

"Stand down." The brunette scowls at the older male's order but steps back and puts an arm in front of Wind who's terrified. Warriors is torn between stopping this madness himself and internally thinking Time deserved it.

He let a child help him banish a violent spirit... when they had an adult medium all this time.

"You weren't available." Time tells him and grunts in pain as Rinku shakes him before throwing him violently to the ground and planting a foot on his chest.

"I don't care. You let A CHILD help you. We keep children out of this for a fucking reason! I don't care if that spirit was stubborn, you leave and you wait." He hisses, leaning down.

"If this ever happens again, I'll seal your abilities and make it agonizing." He steps back, turns and makes his way over to the trio. He brushes past Twilight, raises a hand and gently places it on Wind's shoulder, acknowledging the flinch with an inclined head.

"You did good, kid, from what I heard. But you shouldn't have had to. Your powers are great... but please, stay out of this until you're older. No child should have to go through this." Without letting anyone else respond, he leaves.

Chapter Text

Bypassing everyone else, Rin reaches out and smacks Hyrule across the face, earning shouts.

"Change him back. Right. Now." She hisses at her twin causing him to shrink back but hurriedly obey, changing Warriors back to his proper height. She grabs her brother by the back of his neck and shoves him firmly into a bow while bowing herself to the Captain.

"I'm sorry for Link's disgusting behavior. Instead of explaining his feelings and clarifying, he uses magic to punish." Straightening, she releases him before whirling to face a startled Four and before anyone can speak, she shoves him hard, forcing him to topple over with a yelp.

"And you, I know you gave him the idea. That almost makes you just as bad." She leans down, "What was that about focusing on teamwork? Because last I checked, teamwork wasn't forcing magic on people. How about next time you shrink, I stick you in a pouch?" Seeing him flinch, she steps back and takes a deep breath, ducking her head firmly.

"I apologize for losing my temper, I will not apologize for treating you and Link that way however. You deserved it for giving him the idea and he deserved it for going through with it." She turns back to Hyrule who at this point is slowly realizing the gravity of his actions.

The apology is far more real than it would have been.

"Oh they don't seem very happy about-" Shadow is cut off by Rin stomping forward and slapping him straight across the face. She grabs Vio's wrist and twists his arm behind his back earn a shout of pain before she pulls out her dagger and presses it against his throat, glaring at the shadow.

"Put everyone down or I cut his throat right now." She hisses causing his red eyes to widen in anger.

"How dare you-" He's forced to freeze and quiet down as Rin presses harder against Vio's neck causing blood to bead against the blade.

"It's hilarious how you think I'm joking. You call them traitors because you're a fucking monster just like this bitch of a liar." Her grip tightens earning a grunt of pain.

"Put them down. Now. Before I kill him and I kill you too."

"...Are you serious?" Rinku deadpans, glaring at Wind who turns his gaze to him in surprise.

"What Rinku?"

"You're demanding to know if he trusts you after he just revealed his secret to you?"

"He should have told us sooner-!"

"THE FUCK HE SHOULD HAVE!" The man roars at the now cringing child. "Not when it causes you to act like a spoiled little brat! Newsflash Wind, just because you trust someone does not mean they will tell you every little secret they have nor do you have to tell them every secret you have!" He points a finger at him, but does not touch him. He'll never raise a hand to his little brother. 

"Rinku let's calm down-" Hyrule raises his hand only to jolt as the man in question whirls to face him.

"Hyrule, do me a huge favor; Stay. Out. Of. This." He turns to Wind again. He can see the stubborn look in his eyes and doesn't falter.

"Trust is important, I'm not going to deny that, and it is obvious Twilight trusts everyone in the group. That does not mean he is obligated to tell you or anyone about his wolf form." He raises a hand in a 'stop' motion when Wind goes to protest. "He. Is. Not. Obligated. To. Tell. You. Shit. How dare you act entitled like that! And you figured it out due to markings, congrats. Some of the group hasn't figured it out yet so feel proud of that. But when he finally tells you, you whine about not being trusted and accuse him of treating you like you're stupid! When have you ever seen Twilight do that? Name one time!" His eyes narrow as Wind's shoulders hunch in shame, his face and the tips of his ears burning like the scolded child he was.

"I expected better of you." He tells him, voice dripping with disappointment. "You constantly tell us to not treat you like a child, yet here you are, acting like a spoiled little one. You should be ashamed of yourself." Without letting any of them respond, he turns on his heel and heads back to camp.

Rinku's eye twitches as he slams his fist down.

"What the fuck is wrong with you all?" He barks at the group of seven. "You think it's funny to constantly tease him when he clearly doesn't like it?"

"Oh lighten up Rinku! He's just sensitive!" Warriors rolls his eyes only to wheeze as Rinku shoves him so hard he falls onto the couch.

"All of you are pricks!" He snarls. "I don't want to hear your pitiful excuses! I want you to stay the fuck away from Wild until you fucking apologize!" He stands, hands clenching.

"I'd punch you all out if Time wouldn't get on me for hitting 'teasing' brothers. With brothers like you, who the fuck needs enemies? You're all disgusting pieces of shit!" Turning on his heel, he storms out of the room just in time to see Wild rush past him and out onto the patio. Feeling his heart sink, he can only imagine what Time said to him, probably another 'they didn't mean it' or 'they're just teasing', meaningless garbage from a man who follows the majority. He rushes after his twin, one thing solid in his mind.

The moment they're legally able to, they're leaving.

Chapter Text

Rinku washes up silently, ignoring the chaos that is his brothers fighting to get ready for dinner. By the time he's out, everyone else is getting settled at the table while he walks straight past it.

"Where are you going, Rinku?" Warriors calls to him and the man pauses before turning around.

"Away from you and your stupid little game."

"Excuse me?" The captain balks, scowling at him.

"You heard me." His tone is ice. "Acting like you're so much better than the rest of us, going on about how we have no manners, comparing us to monsters. You think I want to sit at a table and watch everyone be miserable being held up to your standards? If the inn workers have issue with us, they can talk to us like adults, not whine to you like you're our parent." He strides forward, jabbing his finger into the taller man's chest and not letting him get a word out as he continues.

"We all have our manners and who the fuck cares if they're different than yours? You're not our tutor, you're not our boss, you're not our fucking father." His teeth bare in an almost painful grin and he takes pleasure at the flinch that he sees. "If you were, I'd kick your ass up and down the hall like you fucking deserve. As it is, my own manners won't allow it." The grin drops in seconds as he pulls back

"I'm going out to a tavern to get a bite to eat where I'm not held to royalty standards. Try and stop me and I'll break your damn wrist. You're fucking lucky Four and Wild already talked me down from punching your face in from earlier." He steps away and withdraws his cloak from his slate, twirling it onto his shoulders.

"Don't fucking wait up, asshole." And he leaves, silence and shock dragging behind him.

Rin's eye twitches as her magic snaps sharply at the Great Fairy in front of them causing her attention to turn sharply to her, unimpressed.

"Keep your magic under control, little one."

"Fuck off." Rin replies angrily, ignoring her twin's wheeze, the vet's snort and Wind's gasp. "We are not Yours and we will never be Yours and if you try to Claim us, you will suffer the worst curse I can think of. How dare you belittle my twin, how dare you call us infants, how dare you try to make it seem like we are helpless little ones who can't take care of themselves." She reaches out and points at her, a snarl on her face.

"May sugar taste like salt for you, may your sparkle dull and may your flower wilt and rot until you learn how to treat other fairies not of your era, you disgusting wench."

"Rin!" Hyrule gasps sharply but Rin doesn't falter, even as she sees the anger, shock and hurt in the Great Fairies eyes.

"Little one, you are beyond rude and I deserve respect-"

"Respect is earned you fucking hag and you'll never earn mine." She turns her back on her and grabs Hyrule's wrist. "We're leaving. Some Great Fairy, you're nothing but a witch."

Chapter Text

"It's not an excuse." Rinku's voice is low but calm as he meets the brunette's gaze.

"I don't care what curse you have, I don't care you're fae." With every statement, he steps forward and watches Hyrule step back with the blank stare that he's had since they've all reached safety. 

"What I care about is the shit you pulled. What I care about is how you slaughtered a brother to 'save' us. You did nothing of the sort, you let that monster win. You became that monster. And as a hero..." He withdraws one of his daggers.

"It's my duty to take care of such a monster."

"Challenge denied." Rinku says calmly, cutting through everyone and not even flinching when everyone turns to him.

"Excuse me?" The little brat alpha asked with a raised eyebrow. Warriors grimaces, but steps out of the smaller blonde's way and Rinku can see the minute surprise on the nearly-pup's face.

"I said; Challenge. Denied." Rinku walks foward and leans down in the other's face.

"No, never, you touch my boyfriend again and I'll gut you like the poacher you are." He hears the darker brunette snarl and whirls to face him. "Back down, beta. I don't have time for your intimidation tactics."

"How dare you-!" The sandy brunette omega starts but Rinku ignores him and spits at the tiny alpha's feet in blatant disrespect.

"A proud alpha would never try to poach, would never accuse of neglect. You're worthless and don't deserve the title of alpha."

"You're not showing much pride for your own rank, being unscented as you are." The smaller male replies and Rinku rolls his eyes.

"Unlike you, I don't need rank to tell me how to be." He turns his back on him, another show of disrespect and walks over to his mate, Four, who buries against him with a quiet purr.
