Chapter 1: hey, you up?
Chapter Text
One month ago.
Aerith sighs, as her photo gallery reminds her that just a month ago, she and Zack were still a thing. It replayed a slideshow of photos from their last date. He seemed happy, she seemed happy....
And yet, he broke up with her. All the plans they made together, wasted away. She hadn't even moved in with him yet.
The breakup ensued many tears, hugs, cuddles, a small amount of yelling. Could've been worse, though. Aerith cried herself to sleep that night after getting home, curled up in her bed. They agreed to stay friends and in touch, but as Zack enrolled in the SOLDIER program by Shinra, he texted less and less.
She couldn't mope about this forever. No way. It was time to move on. And so, she did. She focused on the things that made her happy. Selling and growing flowers, listening to music, meditation, occasionally doodling a picture. Pretty soon, being single was actually...freeing? It felt amazing.
That didn't mean that she didn't miss Zack though. She still thought about him, remembered the dates and laughter they shared, and when her apps forced her to remember by those "Remember this?" notifications. It made her a little upset, but she wasn't about to cry over him any longer.
She archived all the posts and photos that featured them together. Of course this meant that people would be in her business, commenting on why the posts were gone. She'd keep it vague, she didn't want this to blow up.
One night, Aerith was cozied up in bed, scrolling through videos and memes Tifa sent her. She giggles and replies:
Aerith: LOL, that's you!
Tifa: naaah, that's U lmao
Aerith: sure, sure, whatever you say Teef :P
As Aerith searched for a video to send back to her, she gets a notification. She raises an eyebrow.
Cloud Strife would like to send you a message.
"Cloud Strife?" She mumbles aloud to herself. "That's Tifa's friend." Cloud was someone Tifa spoke about on occasion. According to her, he was apparently introverted, could be a little standoffish, but deep down he was quite shy and awkward. He mostly kept to himself. She goes to her message requests and opens the DM.
Cloud: hey, you up?
Cloud: sorry, I know this is outta the blue.
She accepts the request, replying back.
Aerith: Oh, Heya! :) Yeah, I'm still awake, I was just talking to Tifa. You're her friend, right?
Cloud: yeah. she tells me stories about you, and shows me some of the videos you send her.
Aerith: Aww, how sweet! Lemme guess, she wanted you to make more friends?
Cloud: yep. she doesn't like that I don't talk to people more.
Cloud: but I'm not a people person, so.
Aerith: aww, I get that. Well, it's nice to finally meet you, Cloud!
Cloud: you too.
Cloud: my responses suck, sorry, I'm tired.
Aerith: Cloud, you're fine, trust me! I need to go to bed soon anyways, I got work tomorrow.
Aerith: You get some rest soon, okay?
Cloud: I will, and you too.
Aerith: Night! :)
Cloud: night.
Although the conversation is short, and rather awkward, Aerith can't help but smile to herself. Cloud seemed actually quite caring, he just needed a push to be more open.
And Aerith was gonna be that person to do it.
Chapter 2: buddy-buddy.
Summary:
Aerith and Cloud's friendship slowly blossoms, as they get to know each other more, and grow closer. Despite Cloud's initial awkwardness, he gets used to speaking with Aerith, eventually getting into calls with her. During a call, Aerith brings up Zack, and things get a little interesting.
Then, after the call, Aerith makes a shocking discovery.
Notes:
WHOOOOO another chapter!! :) I really enjoy writing this little AU I got going on here! I mean, AUs in general are something that I enjoy writing about. The possibilities and different routes you can take a story in is why I love em so much. lol.
I feel bad for my constant writer's block, as it does hinder me from making stories at times, but regardless, I hope you enjoy!
Chapter Text
Over the next couple of weeks, Cloud and Aerith's friendship began to take shape. It wasn't immediate, Cloud often would leave her on read, and his texts would still be dry. And if she sensed he was in a bit of a grumpy mood, she'd give him space until he'd send a thumbs-up emoji, indicating he was feeling better. Slowly, though, as his walls got crumbled down by Aerith, he'd message her more and more. He even sent her a couple memes, which thankfully she found funny.
Eventually, they called for the first time. She made sure to arrange the call on a day where they'd be both free. Quite frankly, Cloud was very nervous at first. Would he be too quiet? Weird? Say something wrong and have Aerith upset at him? She assured him they didn't have to if he wasn't comfortable, but Cloud insisted he wanted to. Despite knowing Aerith was Tifa's friend, he'd never heard her voice before. He lived out of town, out of Midgar. In a small area called Nibelheim.
Cloud joined the call, clearing his throat. "Uhh...hello?" He speaks. He sounded so shy, so awkward. It was endearing.
Aerith laughs. "Ohh, that's what you sound like!"
"You've...never heard my voice?"
"Nope! But it's nice, I like it." She smiles. She can almost visualize a blush on his cheeks, a faint smile on his own face as he replies back.
"Thanks, Aerith. Yours is...is nice too."
The call goes off without a hitch. They lose track of time, talking about their interests and watching videos. By the time midnight rolled around, Aerith notices.
"Oh, wow! It's really late."
"Hmm? Oh, yeah, it is huh?"
"You okay with ending it here for tonight? I really enjoyed our talk, thank you Cloud."
"Yeah, that's fine. And I, uh, enjoyed it too."
"You have a good night, okay? If you need anything, message me."
"Will do."
Click.
The calls were where Aerith had the most fun of bonding with Cloud. She was able to hear his voice, his reactions, even a little chuckle here and there. It was way better than messaging. You couldn't always tell someone's emotion behind words on a screen. It soon evolved into video calling, where they could actually see each other. It wasn't fully face-to-face, but it was a start. Cloud was self conscious about his face, and made sure to hold his phone at angles that wouldn't make him "look off." Yet, Aerith reassured him that he looked perfectly fine, handsome even.
That made him turn red and cover his face, eliciting a laugh from her.
Tonight was another one of those nights, where they'd call. Voice call for now, as both were pretty tired.
"So yeah, that's how my day went." Aerith leans against her bed, giving a sigh.
"At least you're home now, right? Can just kick back and relax."
"Mhm." She glanced at her phone. "You doing the same?"
"Yup. Playing the Sims."
"Really?! I never thought you'd be a fan. Did Tifa get you hooked on it?" She chuckles.
Cloud can feel his cheeks heating up, he scoffed, but it was a playful one. "Unfortunately. Kept raving about how funny and chaotic it could get. I mean, it's alright." He mutters, while staring at his computer screen. Looking at the massive town he had created.
"Oh, she absolutely loves the games. She installed a bunch of mods on hers."
"I know, surprising her computer hasn't burst from it." Cloud chuckles softly.
Aerith let out a laugh. "Right?!" As she sat there for a moment, something crossed her mind. "Oh! So, you know how I went to the store after I got off work?"
"Mhm." She can hear the faint sound of him clicking his mouse.
"You won't believe who I saw there!!"
"Who?"
"My ex. Zack."
The clicking stops.
"..you did?" There's shock in his tone.
"Mhm. Don't worry, we're not on bad terms! I mean, we're not even that close anymore either, it's whatever." She shrugs it off. "Anyways! He was surprised to see me too, asked me how everything was. He knows you, by the way."
"Well, he and I went to the same school together. I actually still keep in touch with him. Is...is that okay?"
"Of course it is! I don't mind, I'm not a crazy ex, Cloud." she jokes.
"We don't talk a whole lot, either. We normally just game together."
"He did like to game. I'd join him, when we were together. Those were fun times." She reminisced.
"Aerith? Do you...still like him? Or miss him sometimes?"
She gasps softly, and thinks for a moment. "Wow...you really went there, huh?"
"S...Sorry! I didn't mean-."
"You're fine. Don't worry about it. I mean...kinda? Not as much as I used to, anyways. I've moved on. There's no use dwelling over an ex. It's not healthy waiting for someone to love you in that way. There's a point where you have to accept you're gonna be just friends with them, or nothing at all."
"Yeah..." Cloud felt bad for bringing it up.
"Wow, that got deep huh? It felt good to get that off my chest, though." She yawns. "Woah, 'scuse me. Guess I'm pretty worn out. I think I'm gonna head off and rest, that okay?"
"Yeah, that's fine. Uh, Aerith, wait." Cloud says, before she could react.
"Hmm?"
"Just...just know that if you need anything, you...uhm...can come to me, okay?" He stuttered out.
She smiles. "Got it. Same goes for you."
Aerith couldn't sleep. Staring up at the ceiling, she rubbed her face, giving a low groan.
Do you still like him? Or miss him sometimes? No. No of course not. The relationship is done for. He's moved on. So have I.
She grabbed her phone, unlocking it. She decides to scroll around until her eyelids want to finally close and give her much needed rest. She wants to text somebody, anybody. But, who'd be awake at this hour? Tifa had to work early, Cloud was offline too, where to go?
Zack.
It had to be him, right? He had a habit of being up at ungodly hours.
She goes to his profile, and goes to tap the messaging icon. Yet, a post on his account catches her eye. She taps that instead.
It's a photo of him, in town. clearly someone took the photo for him. He's posing, giving a thumbs-up, goofily smiling.
His arm is wrapped around another girl.
'Had a great time today! Especially with the cutest girl ever, @Cissnei ;3 luv you.'
Aerith exits, turns her phone off, puts it back on the charger, and goes to sleep.
Chapter 3: gotta look forward, not back.
Summary:
Aerith's beginning to feel mixed feelings about Zack's potential new girlfriend. She confides in Cloud about it. They grow closer, and Aerith may already be catching feelings! bada bing, bada boom.
Notes:

Chapter Text
Jealousy. Pure jealousy. That's all she felt.
She shouldn't feel this way. He moved on, so should she.
So, why doesn't it feel right seeing him with another girl? Why does she feel this pit in her stomach?
She should be happy for him.
Aerith: Hey, Cloud. How are you?
Cloud: i'm good. what's up? you don't seem as happy.
Aerith: I've been better. Just...
Aerith: I saw something last night.
Cloud: what did you see?
Cloud: if ur comfy sharing.
Aerith: I didn't want to bother you after our recent call, so I wanted to see if anyone was up, right?
Cloud: mhm.
Aerith: I went onto Zack's profile. And...
Aerith: Seems he found someone new.
The girl's face, Cissnei, shows up in her mind again.
Cloud: I'm sorry, Aerith. Are you gonna be okay?
Aerith: Should be, but...I feel selfish.
Cloud: huh? why?
Aerith: I should be happy he moved on and isn't sad, but...I feel a bit jealous.
Aerith: should've expected this, though. I should've known he'd find someone else after me.
Cloud: what makes you think that???
Aerith: he always was kinda popular for girls to look at.
Cloud: you think he liked that?
Aerith: I don't think so, not when he was with me. But, he sure moved on fast. He really enjoyed being flirty.
Aerith: he was like that with me, he was a "smooth-talker," so. Not surprised he seemed to already have a new girlfriend.
Cloud: screw him, you don't need him.
Cloud: sorry, sorry, that was probably a little mean.
Aerith couldn't help but giggle at this, shaking her head. Cloud was so cute, wanting to stick up for her and comfort her like that.
Aerith: Nah, you're okay!
Aerith: I feel a lot better after talking with you, thanks. I think I'll officially move on from him now.
Cloud: good. no use dwelling on the past, yeah?
Aerith: Mhm! Gotta look forward, not back.
Aerith: That's something my mom always told me.
Cloud: that's pretty good advice.
Cloud: brb, gonna shower.
Aerith: KK! I'll be here!
Aerith decided to watch some videos as she waited for Cloud to return. Her mind begins to drift off to him, instead of focusing on the video at hand. Underneath his toughness, Cloud truly was very sweet. He was a good listener whenever she vented, and although he didn't feel too confident about giving advice, knowing he was there regardless helped so much.
Thinking about him made her blush-- wait, what? Blush??
"Aerith, come on..." She groans to herself. "You two are just friends, we have been for over a month now....I can't be catching feelings at this moment..."
Suddenly, her phone buzzes. A notification! Is it from Cloud? She checks.
What....?
Cissnei would like to send you a message request!
Chapter 4: a coaster of emotions.
Summary:
Aerith has a very awkward chat with Zack's new girl, Cissnei. She's nice, at least, yet the emotions keep bubbling up inside Aerith. What else is she gonna have to deal with?
Notes:
HIHI, apologies for not updating the story in awhile! I just recently celebrated my birthday on the 8th!! :) and was busy with that, then I lost motivation, but now I have some back! So...gonna use it while I can LMAO. enjoy this new entry!
Chapter Text
Aerith's heart pounds, staring at her screen.
Cissnei would like to send you a message request!
She stares and stares, as if it would blink off her screen. She wants it to. Why is she messaging her? What does she want?
Truthfully, Aerith fully expects a negative message. She expects something along the lines of, "stay away from my boyfriend you stupid whore!!" or a similar threat. Her mouth feels dry. She doesn't want to see. She contemplates deleting the request, and moving on with her life. Yet, something draws her to not doing it. She clicks, wondering what the message reads. Below, is the options whether to delete, block, or accept. She reads.
Cissnei: hey! :) I'm Cissnei, you seem like a rlly cool person! Can we talk?
Aerith stops tensing so much. Is that it? She just wanted to talk, and be friends? Well, best to not judge a book by it's cover. She accepts the message. Time to play it cool.
Aerith: Oh, sure! Hi, Cissnei! It's nice to meet you!
Cissnei: Hello! Sorry if this is out of the blue.
Aerith: nah, it's okay, don't worry about it!
Easy for her to say. Aerith's heart is still pounding.
Cissnei: How's your week been so far?
Aerith: Pretty good! I've been talking to my friend Cloud a lot. You?
Cissnei: Cloud? Oh, my boyfriend's friend!
Aerith stares at the text for a moment. Well, guess it really was official.
Aerith: bf? Zack?
Cissnei: Yeah :)
Aerith: Oh, nice! Hope you two are happy together.
Her fingers tremble as they type that out.
Cissnei: We are :) oh, uh...are you okay with that?
Aerith: Of course, why?
Cissnei: I just don't wanna make you uncomfortable with being with your ex.
Aerith: It's okay, Cissnei. I moved on from him, really. No hard feelings.
Cissnei: Okay, but lemme know okay? I don't wanna hurt your feelings on accident.
Aerith: Awww, you're sweet! <3 thank you.
She should be happy for him. He has someone else now. He loves her. Just don't think about it. Don't think--
Bzzt.
Cloud texted just then, the notification popping up above the screen.
Cloud: sorry that took so long, back now.
A weight lifts off Aerith's chest. She feels the corners of her mouth upturn into a smile. He's here. Everything will be okay now.
Aerith: OMG HI CLOUD!! :D
Aerith: sorry I just missed you!!
Cloud: I missed you too.
Her face heats up. He missed her too? She feels butterflies.
Aerith: well I missed you more :p oh yeah, something strange happened to me.
Cloud: Huh? What happened?
Aerith: Cissnei texted me, Zack's new girlfriend.
Cloud: What did she want??
Aerith: It's okay, I think she just wanted to be friends.
Cloud: She wasn't rude or anything, right?
He cares so much about her. She loves it. Maybe...
Maybe she loves him. Nah, that's silly.
Aerith: She wasn't! She was actually sweet.
Cloud: Okay, good.
Cloud: hey, uhh..
Aerith: Hmm?
Cloud: You wanna call?
Aerith: Awww, someone likes hearing my voice! ;)
Cloud: It's not like that!
Cloud: I just...enjoy talking with you.
Aerith: Hehe, just teasing. Okay! Just lemme grab my headphones.
"Oh god, I think I might actually love him..." She says to herself.
Chapter 5: taking the plunge.
Summary:
After a week of building up her feelings, Aerith is 100% confident. She loves Cloud. And she has to tell him.
She can only hope this doesn't backfire.
Chapter Text
Aerith knew this feeling, it was all-too familiar for her. The days seemed worth getting up. The sun shone brighter, as did the moon. A simple notification from him was enough to make problems instantly disappear. She felt giddiness and happiness whenever they talked. His voice would send butterflies fluttering in her stomach, especially in rare moments where he got to tease her back. She dropped extremely subtle hints, to which he was none the wiser. Aerith wondered if this feeling would fade, but when it didn't after a week, it was clear.
She loved Cloud. She really, really loved him.
Yet, she still felt a bit wary about telling him. After all, she wasn't sure if he even liked her back. Cloud was a pretty closed-off person when it came to emotions, he wasn't one to express them openly and willingly. He tended to shrug them off. So, if he did have a crush on her too, he was good at hiding it.
Actually, only he wasn't.
She took note of how often he blushed whenever they video-called. The way he would speak to her, and those bold moments of him teasing her. And, once in a blue moon, he would compliment her. And whenever she was in a low mood, he'd offer her comfort or give her space, whichever she preferred.
Aerith prayed. Prayed that, perhaps, this was the blossom of a new relationship. The night before her confession, she prayed again. That he'd like her back, that she'd find the strength to tell him.
Aerith: heya, Cloud! Hope you're doing well! <3
Cloud: Hey, Aerith. Yeah i'm good, just woke up.
Aerith: Aww, sleep good?
Cloud: for the most part. you?
Aerith: yeah, slept good too!
Aerith: So...
Cloud: Hmm?
Aerith: Did you want to do anything fun, today? Call and play some games?
Cloud: sure, sounds good. After I eat breakfast, k?
Aerith: kk! Ofc, you go get some food, I'll get some myself.
Aerith found it hard to focus on eating her pancakes and toast, however. He was stuck on her mind. She couldn't believe she was going to attempt this today. It all felt like a dream...
Her thinking was cut off by her phone buzzing. Finishing her meal, she washed her plate off and checked.
Cloud: i'm back now.
Cloud: Aerith...?
Aerith: sorry! Got distracted :( I just finished eating too!
Aerith: I didn't mean to worry you there.
Cloud: No, that's ok, should've assumed you were still eating.
Cloud: I'm ready when you are.
Aerith started a call that lasted 4:23:15.
Aerith laughed as she exited her game, smirking at her phone. "Told you, when it comes to Chocobo Kart, I'm hella good at it!"
Cloud sighed heavily. "Yeah, yeah...go gloat all you want. You won't be saying that when I sweep the competition with you next time."
"Says the guy who got 2nd almost every race."
"Oh shut the hell up," Cloud scoffs, but clearly in a playful tone. Aerith laughs only more.
Oh shit! She was having so much fun with him, she almost forgot...
"Cloud, before you go..." She begins. The words hang heavy on her tongue. Her heart begins to beat faster.
"What is it? What's wrong?"
"There's...I..." she slowly spoke. Her face heat up. "I want to say something, to you."
"Aerith...?"
"Can you turn on your camera, please? I'll do the same on my end."
He does so. Those pretty eyes, that spiky blond hair...
After a moment, she turns her camera on. She stares back at the face before her, with a shy, anxious grin. "Cloud, I've been thinking for awhile. Like...really thinking. All the times we hung out, the things you and I said to each other, these moments we shared... They made me realize. I...I really like you. Like, as in, liking. Y'know. More than a friend."
His mouth goes agape, his cheeks red. He doesn't speak, so she continues.
"That's...about it. I have feelings for you, Cloud." She chuckles, though it sounds forced. She feels like she's gonna cry.
"Aerith, I..." he's shocked. He combs a hand through his hair.
"If you don't feel the same, that's valid! I understand!" She blurts out. The lump in her throat goes. The fear of rejection looms. She feels like hanging up the call.
After another pause, he looks at her. "Can I say something?"
"Go ahead." Here it comes. Prepare, Aerith.
"I like you too, Aerith."
"O..OH?!"
He rubs the back of his neck nervously. "Yeah...umm, I'm not good at...feelings. But...I...I like you too. When I'm with you, you bring out a part of me I didn't know existed. And I want to continue making memories with you, Aerith."
"Me...too." She released a breath she hadn't realize she was holding. "Thank you for tonight, Cloud."
Cloud: I...guess we're a couple now?
Aerith: We're a couple now. :) Lovebirds, if you will. :3
Cloud: heh, lovebirds.
Notes:
WOOOOOOWWW WHO SAW THAT COMING??????!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE I SURE DIDNT!!!!

Chapter Text
Logging into her account on her PC, Aerith messes with her hair tie. She and Cloud were planning to video call for their first date. She wishes they could've done this in person, however travelling was rather expensive, and they only just started dating. It was best they waited until both had funds to see each other.
It had been a couple weeks since they confessed to one another, and a couple weeks since they made it public. It all felt surreal, especially considering the long distance, but they were making it work. Whenever neither of them were busy, they would text and call, sometimes pulling all-nighters. Only cause they didn't want to hang up. Even while working, they called or texted when they could, keeping each other updated.
By far, seeing Cloud emerge from his shell, being more open and smiling more often, made her heart flutter. It only made her fall in love with him more. He even recently tried a few endearing nicknames for her, like "sweetie," and "birdie."
A ringtone began to play, as Cloud's profile picture showed up on the screen, indicating an incoming call. Aerith quickly answered, eagerly grinning as Cloud's face soon popped up. A little pixelated, but still him.
"Hey, Cloud!" She waved. "Can you hear me?" She asks.
"Yeah, can you hear me?" He asks back. His voice is a little muffled, but she adjusts her settings. She gave a thumbs-up.
"All good! I missed you." She leans back.
"I missed you too. Was your day okay?" He had such a gentle tone with her.
"It was! I just ordered some new decor for my shop. Some fairy lights! I hope it'll look good in the store." She rubs the back of her neck.
"I'm sure it'll look perfect."
Aerith grabs her ramen noodles cup, holding it up. "You wanna eat together? I'm famished."
"Oh, yeah, if you want." He shyly holds his up.
"I know this doesn't feel like an actual in-person date, but I still hope you have fun regardless."
"What do you mean? I'm with you, I already am having fun, Aerith." Her heart flutters at those words.
She let out a laugh, to try to prevent her face from going too red. "Let's eat, then!"
There's an odd sense of comfort, sitting at your computer screen, eating some instant ramen with your lover. Who's miles and miles away from you. Barely saying a word, yet knowing they're there is enough.
Cloud does his best to not slurp so loud, feeling bashful. He's not used to eating in front of people. He only ever really ate around his mom. He doesn't want to rub off as rude.
"Is it good?" Aerith glances at her screen. Unlike him, she slurps pretty loud on occasion. It's just a habit she picked up, besides slurping ramen meant you were enjoying it, according to Elmyra.
"Oh, uh, yeah. Pretty standard fare, what about yours?"
"Delicious! This really hits the spot after not eating in awhile," She peeks into her cup. "I'm almost to the bottom."
"Me too."
"Race you." She winked, before chuckling.
"That a challenge?" He cocks an eyebrow.
"Is that a challenge?" She mocks back, putting her hand on her hip. Her eyes brighten when that elicits a chuckle from him.
After Cloud had went to bed, Aerith went online. Searching up terms like, "train to Nibelhiem price," "airplane to Nibelhiem," "cost of travelling to Nibelhiem." Comparing different prices.
"Hmmmm...," she hums to herself, tapping her finger against her chin. "Airplane seems a bit more pricey..." She speaks to herself. "I could travel by car...or train. Car would take a little longer, depending on the stops I make..."
Ding.
A notification? That's odd. Cloud was supposed to be asleep, Tifa was working at her bar, who else could it be? Cissnei? Nah, she was probably spending time with Zack. Aerith turns her phone on, gazing at the lock screen.
Burner27896 would like to send you a message!
Truthfully, she should ignore this. She should just delete and block strange, fishy DMs. It wasn't worth her time. Curiosity peaks, and gets the better of her. She decides to see what the DM says.
She could only stare at her phone. Frozen in time.
Burner27896: why the fuck are you with cloud? you and zack were a better match.
Notes:
hehehe :3 uh ohhhhh
Chapter 7: who are you?
Summary:
As Cloud and Aerith's relationship strengthen, the weird messages only continue.
Nothing could make it worse, right?? Right????
Notes:
Updating this now due to this week being busy. Christmas, and I got a doctor's appointment coming up. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holidays, regardless of what you celebrate!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
The message stayed inside her head for days.
you and zack were a better match.
Who would say that? And why? She unfortunately hadn't gotten that answer yet. Later on, the account vanished too, the ID reading "Deleted User" at the top. So any attempt at trying to figure out who was behind the burner was thwarted for now.
Cloud was fuming when Aerith told him about what happened.
Cloud: Imma find out who this fucking loser is.
Cloud: I'm so appalled a jackass like that would even say that to you.
Cloud: Don't listen to them, Aerith. They don't have a say in who you date or love.
Aerith: I won't Cloud. I love you. <3
Cloud: I love you too, my birdie. <3
Aerith gazed lovingly at her phone screen, resisting the urge to kiss it. She loved Cloud, so so much. Honestly, she was beginning to feel as if she loved Cloud more than she ever loved Zack. There was just something about Cloud that made her heart flutter, made her giggle, always left her with a grin. Despite his awkwardness and shyness, he always seemed to know how to cheer her up, how to make her laugh. They just bounced off each other so well.
Then, just as she was spacing out, her phone buzzes.
l00s3erburner commented on your post!
That couldn't be good.
l00s3erburner: You're a fucking homewrecker. I bet you cheated on Zack before dating Cloud. You're so annoying, you're just some random chick Cloud met.
l00s3erburner: Tifa could probably treat Cloud so much better. You're just some bitch who wants attention.
Great. They were back. On another account. Aerith took a deep inhale, then exhale through her nose. It took everything to not reply to these comments, asking to be left alone. She took a screenshot (for reference), deleted the comments, and blocked the user. Who was this person? How did they know Cloud, Zack, Tifa?
This was getting creepy. Whoever it was, they seemed to know about her love life, and the others.
Tifa: Hey girlie! :) you wanna go see a movie later? I got some snacks we can sneak in!
Aerith: Yeah, that's fine. Can't wait!
Tifa: Are you okay? I feel like something's up.
Aerith: [screenshot]
Tifa: OMG! What the fuck??! Aerith I'm so sorry, that's awful. :/ you need me to say anything?
Aerith: No, I already deleted the comments and blocked them. I'm just weirded out. IDK how they know us or Zack.
Tifa: Well whoever it is, they're obsessed. :/ like get a life!
Aerith: Yup!! Anyways, I'm gonna brb! I'll get ready for the movie.
Tifa: Kk! Text me when you're done so I can pick you up!
Aerith: You got it! :D
Aerith was busy doing her hair, tying it into a ponytail, before wrapping her bow over it. She smiled, taking a gander at herself in the mirror. It had been awhile since she and Tifa went out to do stuff, and she'd love to get her mind off the situation. She takes a couple photos of herself, sending it to Cloud.
Aerith: [two photos]
Aerith: Going to the movies with Tifa! And then hanging out for awhile!
Cloud: Beautiful. <3 Have fun, Aerith! Lemme know how it goes!
Aerith: Of course, I will! I'll see you later, Cloud!
She went to put her phone up, when it buzzed. She raised an eyebrow, believing it was Tifa. Wait...she hadn't even texted Tifa yet to let her know she was finished getting ready.
burndown365 wants to send you a message!
Seriously? This again? Aerith's good mood was shattered in an instant. Even more so by the preview of said message.
burndown365: I know who you are, Aerith. I know where you live. You think you can manipulate everyone with your annoying, cheerful attitude? Think again. Your pathetic pick-me act will get you nowhere in life. Cloud's gonna breakup with you eventually, and realize he should've been with someone else. You don't deserve him.
Aerith had never blocked an account so fast in her life. She wanted to throw her phone at the wall. She felt sick. All this because she wasn't dating Zack? Fighting back tears, she texted Tifa.
Aerith: I'm ready! :) Come pick me up. Can't wait to hang out with you again, bestie!
Putting a smile on her face, Aerith grabs her purse, stuffs her phone inside, and leaves.
Notes:
minor spoilers: NO, the troll messages are NOT from Cissnei, Tifa, or Jessie. To me, that is way too outta character. I don't feel comfortable writing them like that.
Chapter 8: we're not detectives, but this loser needs a life.
Summary:
Aerith and Cloud have had enough of whoever is stalking and leaving comments on their pages. They began to try and search for any clues on who is doing it.
Zack and Cissnei have also been receiving strange messages, so they make a groupchat together. Will they make a breakthrough? One can hope.
Notes:
Starting off the new year by making another chapter of this fic! Woohoo!! :D
honestly 2024 was a roller coaster for me. I had some absolutely wonderful moments, and some absolutely shitty moments. Experiencing Rebirth was a major highlight for me, along with meeting a bunch of new CAs! I love you guys <3 shoutout to all the friends I've made who listen to my yapping abt a fictional couple that I love so dearly.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
That night after seeing the movie with Tifa, Aerith checked her phone to see that Cloud had messaged her.
Cloud: Hey, Aerith? Uhh, I got a weird message. Look.
Cloud: [photo.]
Checking the screenshot he sent, it was the same account that had messaged her earlier. Her eyes widened:
burndown365: break up with her. she's a two-timing whore. she's just some random bitch you met. she's not that important.
Quickly, she texted him back, fingers trembling:
Aerith: That account also texted me... I'm so sorry. I don't know who it is.
Aerith: [3 photos.]
Aerith: Whoever it is, they're obsessed with us and our relationship.
Cloud: No shit. Someone doesn't have a hobby, I guess.
Aerith: LMFAO, real for that.
Cloud: I would say to ignore them, but they keep making alts, huh?
Aerith: Yeah, unfortunately. I should set my account to private. And limit who can comment on my shop account.
Aerith: But dunno, even that doesn't help. Because they can just follow and comment. Then I block them, they make another account...
Cloud: Round and round it goes.
Aerith: I honestly have no clue who's doing it. It's definitely not Tifa. Tifa would never, she cares about us both.
Cloud: Yeah, and she works very often, she doesn't always have time to check her phone.
Cloud: My account is private and I don't talk to a whole lot of people so...no clue.
Aerith: We're gonna figure this out, don't worry. <3 you wanna call?
Cloud: Yeah, I'm down for that.
Aerith set down the bag of chips aside, glancing in Cloud's direction. Despite them being separated by a screen, at times it felt like he was really there with her. It was a warm, comforting feeling. "Have they texted you again, yet?"
Cloud shook his head. "Nope. Radio silence. What about you?"
"Thankfully, no. I just do my best to ignore them." She hums. "I try to not let things like that deter me." She waves her hand. "Do the words not hurt? Course not, but then again...it's some random asshole online who probably doesn't shower and has no job!"
That gets a chuckle out of Cloud. "Yeah. Oh, uh...did you make a list of alts they had?" He tilts his head curiously.
Aerith gets her phone out. "Kinda? I just mostly blocked them. Didn't really think to keep track of every single account." She read through her blocklist, gasping softly. "Oh! Some of their accounts are deleted!" She exclaims. "I know one of their burners was deleted, but still! They deleted like...I think three more accounts??"
"Clearly trying to cover their tracks," Cloud remarks. "Wait, I thought they only had a few?"
Aerith shook her head. "I recall they had a few more. They vanished rather quickly, though. I never got screenshots fast enough, and I think one time they even blocked me before I could say anything."
"Ahh...strange." She watches Cloud go through his phone, trying to find any hints.
"You're right. Some of their accounts I blocked too are gone now...running away, or cheating the account limit system."
Her phone buzzed, and a message bubble appeared. Aerith blinks in surprise, checking to see who it was.
"What's wrong?"
"Zack texted me."
"What did he say?"
Aerith read the message out loud:
Zack: yo, Aerith! :) Hey, first off, I hope you've been doing well. Second, I've been getting these weird messages from this weirdo. do u know this person?
Zack: [5 photos.]
She combs through each screenshot. As expected, it's them. They all are from different days, but each shows the burners she knew and encountered herself.
Burner27896: i miss aerith. :( whos the ugly girl you're with now? you're meant to be with aerith! forever and ever!
Burner27896: Cissnei doesn't belong to you honey. <333
Burner27896: damn why did you leave Aerith, unless she wasn't loyal to you?
l00s3erburner: aerith's surely a cheater. she acts like you don't even exist anymore.
l00s3erburner: imagine thinking Cloud and Aerith look good together. GAG! Whoever does is a delusional, pathetic, fucking loser.
l00s3erburner: Cloud belongs to Tifa, you belong with Aerith. if she doesn't cheat on you again! XD
burndown365: I know you've been getting these, Zack. Answer me. Do you think Aerith belongs to you?
burndown365: anyone who thinks cloud and aerith are a match probably support cheating.
burndown365: you know what, go fuck yourself. aerith was an annoying pick-me anyways, and ugly. she doesn't deserve anyone. tifa better <333333 tifa's bra straps are stronger than Aerith's loyalty to a man.
Aerith: Shit, Zack. I'm so sorry. I kinda feel like this is my fault, cause this person has been going after Cloud and I too.
Zack: hey, don't say that. it's no way ur fault. sucks that we're not the only ones.
Aerith: do you know when this started?
Zack: Kinda? P sure after I got with Ciss. they quickly blocked me on the first one before I could reply to them. it stopped for a moment, but continued after you got with Cloud officially.
Aerith: I see. Yeah, for me, it was after I made it aware I was dating again this all happened.
Zack: Cissnei has been getting weird dms too.
Aerith: ...all four of us, huh? So, whoever is doing it, they know our friend group.
"The account knows Cissnei, too." Aerith spoke. She had been speaking to Cloud this entire time, showing him the screenshots, reading out her conversation with Zack. Cloud listened carefully, eyes focused on nothing but her.
"This needs to stop. We need to go to the police."
"Even if we did, it won't help much. They'll just tell us to screenshot and keep tabs. Stalking's not taken too seriously, especially online." She sighs in frustration, rubbing her temples.
"..I guess, for now, let's just keep an eye out. We probably need a good chunk of evidence to send to police anyways."
"If you're okay with it, Cloud, perhaps..." Aerith taps her fingers, brainstorming. "They're texting all four of us. So...groupchat? With Zack and Cissnei? I know, sounds awkward and strange, having my current boyfriend and ex in the same chat, but..." She shrugged her shoulders. "Could work??"
Cloud gave a look of determination, nodding. "Let's do it. Had enough of this stalker."
Aerith has started a group with Cloud, Zack, and Cissnei!
Aerith renamed the group to Detectives. :3
Zack: lol let's goooo!
Cloud: sup.
Zack: the sky.
Cloud: haha.
Aerith: There we go! :D Chat's been made.
Cissnei: Whoo! Alright, this is to discuss, keep tabs, and figure out who's doing this?
Aerith: yup.
Cloud: mhm
Zack: yep-a-pepperoni!
Aerith: WHAT??
Cissnei: LMFAOOOOOO just zack for ya
Cissnei: anyways can I send my screenshots?
Aerith: go for it! I'll send mine!
Cissnei: [6 photos.]
Zack: [5 photos.]
Cloud: [photo.]
Aerith: [7 photos.]
Aerith: when did these accounts start going after you, Cissnei?
Cissnei: awhile after I got with Zack.
Late into the night, the group didn't really find much. The most they could do was attempt to log into the account, and request to reset the password, seeing what email and phone number the person used. Of course, most of the information was censored by asterisks. Aerith felt dirty attempting this, a semi-hacking attempt into a stranger's account.
Her phone buzzes. Unknown ID. She ignores, yet they keep trying. It goes on for a minute, until she gets fed up.
Oh Aerith, her curiosity would get the best of her.
Before she could even speak, a voice hisses at her. The voice is deep, a little robotic. They're using a voice changer.
"Nice try, Aerith, but you won't catch me that easily."
Click.
Notes:
the comments from the alts of whoever is doing this totally isn't based off of toxic clotis and the weird shit they spout.... :)))))) noooo, not at allllll....!!!! :))))
thanks for reading! Hopefully I finish this soon. You'll find out who's doing this soon enough. ;)
Chapter 9: I'll meet you there.
Summary:
After months of careful planning, Aerith finally meets up with Cloud! Being able to hold and feel your long-distance lover brings a lot of emotions.
Surely, nothing can go wrong....
Notes:
this is the longest chapter (I believe) yet, so I hope you all enjoy! Unfortunately the journey is almost over, but don't worry! I am NOT gonna stop writing Clerith fanfics anytime soon! In fact, I got another one in the works. BUUUT, it's in the early development stages and is a surprise. You'll see... :3
also about the lack of emojis, I'm typing this all mostly on my laptop. I'm not the biggest fan of AO3's layout on mobile, I don't like writing on it. I only do it if I have to.
Chapter Text
For awhile, the group carefully monitored and tracked the mysterious person. Sending screenshots, making notes, deciphering which accounts were theirs. For awhile, it felt like they were close. They could figure this out.
Until one week, it all....just stopped.
Cissnei: Any updates, chat?
Aerith: nope.
Zack: nada
Cloud: The only friend request I got this week was from some random kid from my elementary class.
Cissnei: Strange. Well...be sure to keep on guard, okay?
So they did. But as a month went by, realization set in that the harassment ceased. Figures that the person may've suspected they were all onto them. No one bothered to respond to their comments anymore. At first, Aerith was upset. She wanted to know who was saying these disgusting comments, and why. Yet, on the other side, it was a relief. Waking up and not immediately blocking alt account number forty million was cathartic. Now, she could focus on her next plan.
Meeting Cloud.
Aerith saved up as much money as she could, planning out this trip. Enough for a few nights at a hotel, exploring Nibelheim, and food. All the while, keeping this a secret from Cloud. She wanted to surprise him. It took awhile, but at last, she reached her goal.
One night, on video call, she rocked back and forth, unable to sit still. "Soooo...Cloud? I'm going to be busy for a couple of days. I'll still be on, definitely! I just might be slow with replying."
"Oh?" He raised an eyebrow. "What are you gonna be doing?" He asks, out of curiosity. Another endearing thing he did, that she found charming. He'd always have a habit of being interested and curious about her, attentively taking in her interests.
It took all of her strength to not spoil the surprise. She smugly grinned. "Well....I got a vacation from work! And I plan on doing a couple of girl nights with Tifa and Cissnei!" She giggles, kicking her feet.
He was none the wiser. "Oh, have fun! You three must be planning something wild if you're that excited." He smiled. Cloud couldn't get enough of how she grinned, how her eyes seemed to sparkle with glee.
"Thank you! I'll let you know how things go!" She gives a thumbs-up.
That night, Aerith could hardly sleep. Finally getting to see Cloud up close, to hold and caress him, it was enough to keep her awake.
Aerith breathed heavily as she dashed through Midgar's train station. She can't be late! Why did she have to be awake for nearly half the night?! She weaved her way around the crowd, apologizing rapidly if she bumped into anyone. Finally, she made it to her train.
"Am I on time?!" She wheezed out, coughing and clearing her throat.
The staff worker nods, holding his hand out. "The train just arrived."
"Oh, thank Gaia!" She wiped her forehead. She gave her ticket and paid the fee, hopping on and finding a seat. Seems like not many people wanted to travel to Nibleheim, the cart was relatively empty. Aerith didn't seem to mind though, had the entire area to herself! As the train began to move to the destination, Aerith leaned back, sighing deeply.
"This is it..." She talks out loud. "...I'm gonna meet him there. Ohhh, I can't wait!" She squeals. She takes a glance at her wallpaper, a photo Cloud sent of him smiling. She traces his face with her finger.
"Cloud. I'm on my way."
After what felt like an eternity, the train arrived at the Nibelheim station. She grabs her luggage and gets off, Taking in the sight.
From the windows, she could tell this town was more of a countryside, nothing like the bustling city of Midgar. Exiting, she waits for her scheduled uber to pick her up, taking a seat on the nearby bench. She takes a moment to just sit back and appreciate the sounds of nature. The birds, the cicadas, that gentle breeze that isn't overwhelming.
Cloud: I'm gonna hang out at the local cafe today. Been awhile, and just need to leave the house once in awhile.
Aerith: Ooo, I think the girls and I also need to visit the cafe again!
Aerith: Hehe, don't mean to steal your ideas. You just come up with some great ones! <3
Cloud: Glad I gave you inspiration, birdie.
Cloud: Alright, gonna head out. If you need anything, text me! Love you.
Aerith: I love you too, choco-butt. :3
Cloud: never use that nickname again.
Aerith: you love it! ;)
Just as she slid her phone back into her purse, the uber pulled up.
Aerith sat in her hotel room, all jittery and anxious. She takes another look in the mirror, checking to see if she looks just fine. She knows Cloud thinks she's beautiful and won't care what she looks like, yet she worries regardless. She wore her best outfit, her favorite pink dress, with the red jacket and matching boots. She's adorable, yet not too fancy.
Inhaling and exhaling, she gave her reflection a thumbs-up. "It's go-time, Aerith."
Walking on the sidewalk, she looks around the town. She read the signs, but felt rather lost. She stopped a random lady on the street. "Excuse me! Where's the cafe?"
She points. "You want to keep walking, then make a right, fourth building on your left."
"Thank you!"
She picked up the pace. She's not sure how long Cloud will be there, but she needed to arrive before he leaves.
Heading inside, she's greeted with the scent of donuts, coffee, and other goods. Crouching behind the line to the counter, she searches for Cloud.
Her heart skips a beat when she finally eyes him. There, sitting in a corner booth. Back turned to her, enjoying a coffee as he types on his laptop. Her heart pounds, he's just a couple feet away! Her eyes water with tears, as she takes a couple steps closer.
"Cloud!" She calls out.
Cloud was snapped out of his work by a voice calling his name. He turns his head, wondering who called him. He does NOT expect it to be Aerith out of all people.
WAIT, AERITH WAS HERE??!!
His breath hitches, his eyes wide as saucers. He scrambles out of his seat, narrowly avoiding spilling his coffee on the floor. His jaw drops, he can't help but stare. Surely, this is just a dream. He fell asleep here, Aerith's supposed to be having fun with her friends.
Aerith's smile grows, and she outstretches her arms towards him. "...I found you. Surprise! I lied, I wasn't going to Tifa's. I came here to see you."
It's Cloud's turn to take a step closer, still not believing what he's seeing. Step, step, step...
Finally, he gets to her. Reaching a hand out, he cups one of her cheeks---
Ohmyshe'sactuallyhere.
He can't fight back the tears, and in a swift second, embraces Aerith tightly. He doesn't want to let go. Not now, not ever. Aerith feels the same, she returns his gesture. Ruffling his hair, giving a gentle back rub, holding him tighter. They both close their eyes, the world tuned out. Right at this moment, they're each other's world.
"You're real."
"I am."
"I'm holding you in my arms."
"You are."
"I just...oh, I love you, Aerith."
"I love you too."
Cloud refused to let go of her hand, as they walked towards a restaurant to eat at. His brain couldn't comprehend that she was real, today was a dream.
"Do you recommend this place?" Aerith asks, doing a little arm swing as they continue to stride hand-in-hand.
"Of course. It's a mom and pop place, which means you know it's gonna be good." He chuckles.
Suddenly, Aerith sees movement out of the corner of her eye. A feeling of unsettlement forms in her gut, prompting her to clench his hand tighter. Cloud seems to take notice, as his eyebrow raises in concern.
"You okay..?" He whispers. "What's wrong?"
"Cloud..." she says ever so quietly. "I feel like someone's watching us."
"Huh...?" He stares around, but he doesn't see anything suspicious. But he knows to take Aerith seriously, he's not gonna brush her off. "Stay close to me, okay?"
"Yeah, I will." she wraps an arm around him, giving a thumbs-up.
They continue like normal, and grab some food. Aerith distracts herself by starting up conversations with Cloud, discussing whatever she could think of. Travelling, favorite movies, some personal stories. It helps ease the nerves, if only for awhile.
As they exit, it happens again. But this time, Aerith takes a look. They're quickly running, she notes a flash of long hair.
"HEY!" Aerith yells, dashing after them. She's not gonna let them get away. There's a sneaking feeling this could be who was stalking everyone's accounts after all this time.
"Aerith!" Cloud followed behind, catching up to her. "Wait!"
"Cloud, it's them, our stalker! I can tell! Quit running, you coward!"
The figure picks up their pace, speeding into an alleyway. They curse under their breath, it's a dead end. They turn, seeing Cloud and Aerith standing before them.
"I don't know who the hell you are, but I don't like the way you were creeping on us!" Aerith growls, narrowing her eyes. "You know what I'm talking about, don't you?"
They almost shake their head, yet they paused, and nodded instead.
"Show yourself. Now." Cloud says. "Or we could get the cops and have them do it for you."
The figure sighs, reaches up, and lowers their mask and hoodie....
Mask off. Cards on the table.
Cloud and Aerith both gaze in shock, at the person standing before them. After all this time...
Aerith took a step forward. "...Sephiroth?"
Chapter 10: conclusion.
Summary:
Aerith and Cloud confront Sephiroth on his past actions, and question his motives.
And then afterwards, things will continue like normal. For real this time. Promise.
Notes:
WOOOOOWWWWWW omg, the end of the fanfic! I can't believe it!! :D it feels like only yesterday, I started this fic, and now I FINALLY completed it! Yay!!
I originally wanted to make this a few chapters longer, however I realized over the years I SUCK at committing to long chaptered stories. I have been trying to work on that, but I fear just running out of steam.
Anyways, here it is! The final chapter!! :)
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Sephiroth stuck his head up high, averting his gaze. "So...we meet again, Aerith."
"Yeah..." Aerith scowls. "We meet again."
"You two have met before??" Cloud asked, tilting his head.
"We have, yeah." Aerith nodded. "Knew him in college." She mutters.
When Aerith was nineteen, she finally got accepted into the Midgar University. She was so excited! A fresh new start, an opportunity to study and make friends. In fact, this was where she had met Zack. He invited her to sit with him and his friends at lunch, noting that she appeared rather lonely.
Among his friends were Angeal, three years his senior, Genesis, and Sephiroth. They all were enrolled into the Shinra SOLDIER program, to take part in the military. They all accepted her with open arms. For awhile, everything seemed fine.
That is until, Genesis started drama. Well, he'd always enjoyed drama and gossip, yet this time it drilled a hole into the friendship. Turns out, Sephiroth and Genesis didn't like Aerith very much. They found her off-putting, something about her pissed them off. Perhaps they were even jealous of her? Aerith had done her best to get past this and move on, she felt this drama was so petty and elementary in nature. Zack around this time had a developing crush on her, so he distanced himself from Sephiroth and Genesis.
After the first year, she didn't see either of them again. And that was the end of it. At least, she thought so.
"So, you decided to be petty, stalk us, and say all that mean shit?" Aerith was fed up. "Are you serious?! What's your deal with me?! Whatever happened at university was a long time ago! I did nothing to you, I was simply existing in my own bubble. You tried to divide another relationship I had!"
Sephiroth grins. "I underestimated you, you're not as dumb as I thought you were." He hums.
"Well, why did you do it?" Aerith asked.
"Why would I tell you that? It's best not knowing, but you could be right. Perhaps I was jealous, or I simply wanted to have some fun with you and your friends." Sephiroth pretends to think, tapping his chin with his finger. "All in good fun, don't you think?"
Cloud rests his hand on her arm. He glares at Sephiroth. "I don't think we ever wanna see you again, you narc. Go find something better to do, rather than finding enjoyment in tearing people apart."
"A shame, I was having so much fun in trying to break all of you. Well, now that you know, you won't be hearing from me again." He turns around, putting his hood back up. "Good luck, you two. Goodbye." He was gone before they could even get a word out.
Aerith blinks, before she huffs. "Good riddance."
"Weirdo."
"He speaks like an anime villain. Yet he's pushing thirty."
That made Cloud bust into laughter, as he pulled her closer. "I love you."
"Love you too, I'm just glad that's over. Shall we get some food?"
"Yeah." He nodded. "Let's go."
The rest of the week was some of the best days of their lives. Cloud showed more of Nibelhiem to Aerith, a lot of cuddling ensued, she never wanted to leave. Alas, after the last night, she had to head home to Midgar.
"Guess I'm...seeing you off, huh?" Cloud mutters, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"Yeah...don't worry! I'm definitely gonna come back! Cloud..." she took a step forward. "This was the best week of my life. Thank you. I'm so grateful for all the memories we shared, all what you have shown me, you made me happier than you could ever know." She held his hand.
"I...feel the same, with you." He stammers. "Sorry...never was good with the sappy stuff," he chuckles, rubbing a hand behind his neck.
"That's okay, you're simple and awkward, and I love that." She traces her finger across his cheek. She stood slightly on her tippy toes, leaning in.
They both shared a sweet, delicate kiss. One full of light, of love. After a few seconds, she pulled away. "Oh! Almost forgot..." she reached into her bag, taking out a pin. It was a yellow lily pin, her favorite flower.
"What's that?"
"A gift, for you. A flower. I read in a book these specific flowers are used for when lovers reunite, or unite together. A symbol of love, reunion." She stepped forward, clipping the pin to his shirt, right above his heart.
"...I'll cherish this, thank you." he gazes into her eyes, smiling gently.
"I'll be back, I promise. I'll text you when you get home."
Two Years Later
Aerith slips on her fluffy pink slippers, standing back up and stretching. She sighs softly, heading out of the bedroom. Going downstairs, she smirks.
"Hey, you. Still awake? Wanna watch that movie now?" She asks, going to sit beside Cloud. Cloud wraps his arm around her, pulling her close.
"I'll try to stay up," he yawns. "No promises."
She giggles, grabbing the remote, scrolling. "Alright!" She then glanced back at him.
"What?"
"Not to be cheesy, but...I'm so glad you're my husband," she softly spoke, words tender.
His face goes a little red. "Can I be cheesier, then? I'm thrilled you're my wife."
"Silly goose."
"My sassy flower girl."
Yep. Life was perfect.
Notes:
we did it! Whoooooo! And with that, the story comes to a close! Thank you so much to those who have supported me and read through it all! :)))
now, to take a small break so I won't experience burnout for too long. I'll return soon, with more clerith fics!
Thanks for reading, see y'all next time!
