Chapter 1: stateliness

Notes:

Sorry I am starting late! I had a really hard time choosing which fic to write. 🤯

Chapter Text

The white skin looked even more pale in contrast to the pink painted lips. Like blushing buds of plum, peeking under the melting snow which was giving way to approaching spring. Silky black hair was uncut and smooth, freely flowing down the straight back as a waterfall freed from the ice. Layers of the finest silk were covering his charming figure, long legs like a crane crowned the elegance.

Heavy looking golden bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings that were weightening his slender body, broke the illusion of authenticity. Clearly suggesting that he was not used to carry that much richness on him. His shy dance moves were enchanting as he swirled with a trembling stateliness in the rhythm of the music. Like a butterfly that has just got its wings, still struggling to stay into the air.

One pair of eyes was mesmerised by the sight. He had never seen anything as beautiful. He neared to the crowd. His disguise made it hard to move since no one was giving him space he was used to have. Luckily his petite size helped him to sneak through the curious people that had gathered to the market place to see the wonder, brought far from the north for them to amaze.

He struggled his way closer to the stage where the new merchandise had switched owner from the slave trader to the merchant who was now proudly presenting his rarest item. A male concubine

The man was as tall. His height surely greater than any other person in their family. Even so, the thing that made him stand out was not his height, but the fact he was dressed as a woman. His moves were delicate as his thin body embraced femininity as much as it screamed out masculinity with those big hands and feet.

He was a perfect balance of both. By changing his costume, hairstyle and makeup he would be anything between the most handsome man and the most beautiful woman. His dance was modest, not frivolous as the concubines usually did to attract the potential rich customer.

There was a sense of fragility that if you would touch that divine thing. It might disappear into the thin air.

He couldn’t take his eyes out of the sight. As the dancer spinned, their eyes met for a second. He could sense how the concubine flustered in effect of his undivided attention. He couldn’t help smiling as the shy thing turned away from him.

“No one?” The merchant sighed as gathered people were just staring at his rare item, not shouting any offers.

A few older men were discussing in the front row. “Is it untouched?”

“Hmph! We won’t sell used stuff here.” The Merchant irked as the two dared to suspect the quality of his items.

“Hmm… Can it be tested once if it’s any good…” Their dirty gazes shamelessly checked out the purest shape wrapped in veils.

“It depends how much you pay.” The Merchant offered, gritting his teeth. Not a buyer he had hoped for. This thing was worth more than dirty old men would have afford for.

“Well, since no one seems to want it…” The old man was rummaging his pocket. “For a pity I can offer 1000 baht—”

“1 million baht!” Someone screamed from the audience and everyone turned to look at the tiny man dressed into a brown gown.

“Pfft!” Older men in the front row snorted. That poor boy didn’t certainly own anything else than the clothes he had on.

“Fine. 2000 baht. But that’s my final offer—”

“10 million baht!” The tiny man shouted.

“Hoi you! Stop making unreasonable offers.” The old men were getting annoyed.

“Yes, its nuisance, because you clearly have no afford to—”

“50 million baht!” He shouted and threw away his gown.

The crowd gasped as gold and finest silk blinded their eyes.

“I-it’s His Highness the Prince Vatee Reaungrittiroj!?”

“Yes!” T-rex walked through the assembled crowd as citizens fell on their knees before him. “I want that one.” He said and climbed on the stage. Kneeled down on one knee before the shocked dancer. “What’s your name, my dear?”

The concubine was so stunned that he could not even get a word out of his mouth.

“This is Maetinee.” Merchant introduced. “Your Highness, if I may offer. I have the largest selection of very beautiful—”

“Maetinee…” T-rex cut him short and gazed at the trembling creature as it tried to hide behind the layers of veil fluttering in the wind. As if it couldn’t take the prince looking at him.

“How much has been your priciest sale this far?” T-rex asked, not averting his eyes.

“Ah, um… Prince Vimarnsukmun bought ten concubines for 80 million baht.”

“Hah! Then this will be worth a billion.” T-rex cheekily grinned.

“Eh?!” The merchant’s eyes were about to drop out. Had he heard right?

“Mh! I will take this one. I don’t need anything else. Just Maetinee is enough.” T-rex smiled, looking at his purchase heavily blushing. How adorable.

“Come, my darling! You will become my favourite concubine.” T-rex stood up. “Merchant! Are you fine with my word?” T-rex spun towards him, patting his empty pockets. “I don’t have any cash with me. You can come to collect your payment from the palace if I can take this one with me right away.”

“Y-yes. Yes! Of course, Your Highness. I trust your word. And you can trust quality of our products—”

“Hmph! I don’t like the way you are addressing my concubine.” T-rex scrunched his nose displeased.

“Ah! My apologies.” The merchant threw into the ground, bowing his head.

“Mh!” T-rex nodded, accepting the apology. “In my great mercy, I will spare your neck.”

“Thank you, Your Highness. Shall Maetinee be on your liking and bring joy in your days and nights.”

“I’m sure he will.” T-rex smiled and spun back to his impulse buy. “Come on, sweetheart! Let’s go home.”

Maetee’s pov

Chapter Text

“We have arrived!” The slave trader shouted, waking up the drowsing passengers of full packed carriages, and so the hustle began.

“Wash up! Dress up! It is the market day today.” The slave trader yelled, opening the sealed carriage of luxurious gowns, veils and jewelleries.

“Tonight, the luckiest of you will be warming beds of generous investors.” He smirked, already imagining how rich he would become after selling out his newest selection.

“Hoi! What are you still standing there!” A guard yelled at the male concubine zoning out. “Go clean yourself.” One man took a step closer and the frightened concubine stumbled, letting out a high pitched, loud scream before he fell on the mud of the river bank.

“Bwahahaha!” The guards laughed. Pathetic, who even would buy a faggot like that?

“Oih! Careful with that one.” The slave trader alerted and came to pick up his valuable merchandise. “Chop-chop! My rarest item has to be spotless.” He urged the concubine to go to the river with the rest of the girls.

Maetee popped a hasty wai and hurried to the safety of his flock.

“The merchant will only choose the best quality.” The slave trader spoke, an ice-cold tone in his voice and gave a warning glance at the guards. “If you ruin any of my items, I will personally cut off the body part you have stained my merchandise with.” The sabre hanging on his waist was sharp. They knew how easily it cut the flesh.

The guards’ smirk stiffed. You didn’t mess with greedy bastards like slave traders of Chiang Tee. Northerners were honest people and they would fulfil their threats without blinking an eye. They had seen it with their own eyes as one of the foolhardy guards had lost both of his hands while trying to grope one of the girls.

Soon all of the concubine candidates were in the river and guards were watching over them. Maetee felt uncomfortable under their gaze. Even if they weren’t allowed to touch them. He felt how their oggling eyes roamed between their naked bodies as they washed away the dust and dirt of travel.

After a long week they had finally reached the capital. Today was the day when their worth was evaluated. The price of their appearance and entertaining skills were weighted. They decorated their frame with the finest clothes they had ever seen, but if they could trust the merchant who purchased them from the slave trader, that was just a foretaste of the riches they could reach after becoming a concubine of a wealthy man.

Maetee had no high expectations. He was a male concubine and most people that wanted that kind of plaything were dirty old men. He was scared about who would actually buy him. What awful things he might end up doing with him. If it was a good man, someone decent, kind and gentle, maybe then Maetee could survive a few more days out of home.

Concubines formed a row on the stage in the middle of the marketplace. Maetee was shaking seeing the crowd. He was supposed to dance in front of all these unknown people. He had only danced at his home shrine, for the Goddess Phra Mae Teeban, but now there were thousands of pairs of eyes staring at him. He felt the pressure and panic arising.

Maetee closed his eyes, trying to steady his breathing by thinking something happy, but then it was his turn. Maetee took his position in the middle of the stage and started as he had practised. He was a beautiful butterfly in the meadow surrounded by pretty flowers.

In his nervousness, Maetee made a little mistake and in the corner of his eye he saw two older men in the front row, trying to peek under his hems. Those two were just the type of disgusting men he didn’t want to end up with.

He spun around, lifted his gaze to greet the sun, and then…for a second his eyes met with someone in the crowd. Maetee felt how his heart skipped a beat as heat rushed through his body. Quickly he turned his flustered face away. What was that?

The young man had looked at him enchanted like he really was the most beautiful butterfly in the meadow. Maetee’s heart couldn’t calm down. In his back he still felt the burn of the tender gaze of those curious eyes. Even if Maetee was among thousand citizens, for that brief moment when their eyes had met, there had been only two of them in this world. Only that one pair of eyes had truly seen him…

Then the two in the front row shouted their humiliating offer. 1000 baht, for pity.

Maetee didn’t want to get sold with that low price and to these debugging people.

“1 million baht!” Someone shouted from further from the audience.

It was not possible to recognise unfamilar voice, but still Maetee knew it in his heart. He searched him with his gaze and saw the man smiling at him.

Maetee’s heart was fluttering happily for the young man’s kind gesture to raise Maetee’s worth, but deducting by his simple costume it was clear he had no afford to pay that sum. It was still enough to make the two raise their offer to 2000 baht, it was better than nothing…

“10 million!” A shout was echoing from the crown again.

Maetee smiled sadly, that poor boy was getting yelled at because of his crazy offers, but that only made the young man raise his offers.

“50 million!” He shouted and pulled off his gown.

Maetee’s jaw dropped as sun reflected from the gold jewelries and finest silk. He recognised the handsome face from the portraits that even his rural home village, Teeban had in the frames on the wall of village council. It was the younger prince of their country. Vatee Reaugrittiroj… The secret crush of the sacred virgin of Teeban shrine.

Maetee’s mind shut down, stopped working altogether. He was unable to process what was happening anymore as the prince of his forbidden dreams walked towards him in flesh and bones, and dropped on one knee before him.

The prince was asking his name, but Maetee could just stare, shocked how the person he had only seen in pictures could be real. Distantly he heard how the merchant introduced him as Maetinee.

The prince’s smile spread wider as he rolled the name on his tongue. The tender way he looked at him and the gentle way he talked to him. Everything felt so surreal. The world was spinning. Maetee must be dreaming. Yes, what a happy dream after all the nightmares.

“Come, my darling! You will become my favourite concubine.”

The prince’s smile was blinding Maetee with its brightness. Ah! Of couse, he must have died already. But since Maetee had done so well, serving Phra Mae Teeban, the Goddess had blessed him with this heaven…

The monks chanting wedding sutras was the only thing Maetee could hear in his ears as the Prince took his hand leading him away from the empty marketplace. Again, it was just the two of them in the whole world.

Chapter Text

The imperial palace was enormous with hundreds of cambers and extra wings. Maetee would surely get lost into that maze in minutes if he let go of the hand of his prince.

“So? Is it time for bath?” T-rex asked on the first step they took into the magnificient entrace hall.

“Huh?” Maetee shocked. “B-bath…but I just went to the river…”

“Aow! That’s not good for your delicate skin.” T-rex’s thumb rubbed Maetee’s soft hand. “You deserve a hot and relaxing bath after that long travel from Chiang Tee.”

“Hot and relaxing…” Maetee repeated. Wait! Did it mean… They going to take a bath together!?

“Yo-hoo! I’m homeee〜” T-rex announced his arrival.

“You were calling, Your Highness.” A servant appeared out of blue.

“Aaiiieeee!” Poor Maetee stratled, hugging the prince in the process.

“Aww… Don’t be afraid, my sweetheart.” T-rex patted Maetee’s back. “She will be your personal maid.” T-rex gestured towards the girl.

“Ah! Umm…” Shying Maetee unhanged himself from the prince. How embarrasing to over react like that, but for his defence the maid should not sneak around so silently. Poor Maetee could get a heart attack.

“Looksorn. This is Maetinee, my new concubine. He needs a bath and clothes.” T-rex ordered. “He can take the east wing.”

“Yes, Your Highness.” The servant bowed, gesturing Maetee to come with her.

“Oh!” Maetee gazed behind his back. Wasn’t the prince joining him?

“Enjoy! See you at lunch.” T-rex waved and headed to another direction.

“Oi! Newbie.” Looksorn called as Maetee was daydreaming. “Follow me.” She walked fast through the endless hallways until they arrived at the east wing.

“Whaa…” Maetee gasped amazed by the beautifully decorated room.

Looksorn had no time to let Maetee admire the interior design, but opened another door to an even more bigger and beautiful room and from there to the next one, leading Maetee deeper into the east wing.

“Who else lives here?” Maetee asked, counting they had passed at least three rooms.

“Didn’t you hear the prince? This wing belongs to you now.” Looksorn clarified.

“Eh?” Maetee stunned. The whole east wing and its beautiful rooms with windows to sunrise…was reserved solely for him! “All this…just for me?”

“Yes. Only you will live here.” Looksorn confirmed, opening a slide door to a gorgeous bathroom. She turned a handle and hot water started flood out.

“Hooh…” Maetee gasped. He had heard rumours about advances of the capital, but he had never seen water running from the pipes before.

“Quickly.” Looksorn urged as Maetee was just standing there.

“Eh? Do I strip…”

“You are taking a bath.” Looksorn rolled her eyes, helping Maetinee out of the dresses and veils.

“Um…but…” Maetee was getting embarrassed as the layers were getting fewer.

“You must be clean for the prince.” Looksorn tucked him into a bathtub.

“Aaiiiieee!” Maetee was screaming again, making the water splash around. It was hot.

“Keep your voice down if you don’t want to face the anger of the crown prince. He is not in a good mood in the mornings.” Looksorn warned, pouring shampoo on her hands, rubbing Maetee’s hair.

“I-I can do it by myself…” Suddenly Maetee felt like a little child, washed by his mother.

“Mh! You focus on the bottom. Everything must be thoughtfully clean.” Looksorn instructed, pouring foaming soap into the water.

“A-aa…” Pink tint was colouring Maetee’s cheeks. “Do you mean…”

“Mh. Wash everything.” Looksorn nodded. “Prince takes a nap after lunch, so you should be prepared.”

“A-after lunch…” Maetee stuttered. What was going to happen after lunch?

“Um, or at least tonight. Prince never sleeps alone.” Looksorn explained.

“Does that mean…sleeping in the same room?” Innocent Maetee asked.

Looksorn narrowed her eyes, giving him a dull look.

“Ah! On the same bed…” Maetee guessed, based on her expression.

“Seriously! You are Prince’s concubine. What do you think you are here for?” Looksorn snapped.

“Oh-oh…” Maetee swallowed. He was the prince’s concubine, so… Sleeping together might not be just sleeping…

Maetee blushed. What was he supposed to do? He was a sacred virgin of Teeban in the name of Goddess Phra Mae Teeban herself! Maetee’s only experience was kissing pictures of his prince, but now he was expected to face the real deal! How could he ever survive?

“B-but… I am just an innocent maiden.”

“Um, as you should be.” Looksorn sighed. What kind of amateur prince had brought in this time. His first male concubine was totally freaking out, having no idea what it meant to be a concubine of the prince of Teeland.

Chapter Text

“I heard you were wasting money.”

“Oh! Good morning to you as well, brother!” T-rex slouched on the divan of the crown prince’s study room.

“Merchant was asking for one billion baht, for one concubine…” Watee poked the quill onto a blueprint he had been working on. Seemingly not pleased about the sudden excessive expenses. “Don’t you already have five?”

“Aww… P’Watee.” T-rex whined. His brother was being so stingy. “Those are all your leftovers. I got them because you refused to have them. I wanted one of my own!”

“Tsk. Why did it have to be that expensive?” Watee asked back.

“Hihi! Because it’s a very special one…” T-rex giggled. “A male concubine!”

“What!?” Watee stood up and slammed the table. “You wasted one million baht on a male concubine!”

“Hmph!” T-rex pouted. “Why are you yelling at me? You have Maitee—”

“He is not a concubine!” Watee turned red on the face. “And I haven’t wasted any money on him.”

“Really?” T-rex jerked up an eyebrow. “If I remember correctly those lobsters were quite expensive…”

“He is a chef! And you ate that too!” Watee pointed at his mischievous brother with a shaking finger.

“Hehehe… Oops! So I did. It was really tasty.” T-rex licked his lips.

“Mh. So, why did you buy a male concubine?” Watee brought them back to the original topic. “You should be looking for a wife, not a plaything.”

“Hah!” T-rex hopped up. “If you are not taking a wife, why should I?” He challenged.

“That’s…umrgh…” Watee’s reason turned into incoherent murmuring.

“Yeah! Don’t be a coward brother. You are the future king! You can change the rules so that—”

“Enough.” Watee cut him short and changed the topic. “We have heard alarming news from our neighbouring kingdom.”

“Eh?! What are they up to now?”

“We don’t know. I am planning to send Teedo and Teedet to reconnaissance and—”

“I want to go too!” T-rex volunteered.

“No. This is serious business.” Watee immediately denied.

“Phiii…” T-rex whined, clinging onto his arm.

“Hoi!” Watee shook him off. “Didn’t you just buy a new concubine to entertain yourself?”

“Aow! You are correct, I cannot abandon him right away. Hmm…how will he look in the clothes I chose for him? He is so cute. You know at the moment I laid my eyes on him I knew he belonged with me.” T-rex described the encounter at the marketplace.

“Aha.” Watee nodded. “Remember to send invitations for Teedo and Teedet about our meeting and—”

“Lunch is ready!” Maitee arrived, carrying in a tray.

“Mmmh!” T-rex sniffed. “Smells nice!”

“Hey! That’s not for you.” Watee got possessive over his dish.

“Hehehe! No worry, brother. I’m going to enjoy lunch with my new concubine!” T-rex stormed out to make preparations for a picnic at the garden.

“T-rex seems excited.” Maitee smiled, setting the lunch on the coffee table.

“Have you seen it yet?” Watee sat on the pillow.

“The new concubine?” Maitee guessed the hot news of the day which everyone was cossiping about around the palace and the city.

“Not yet. But I heard him screaming in the bath.” Maitee said, serving Prince his meal.

“Haa-ah…” Watee sighed. “Where on earth did he find that one?”

“I heard that our local merchant bought it from a slave trader from Chiang Tee.” Maitee revealed his information.

“Eh? From the north?” Watee sip the soup. It was tasty as always.

“Mh, do you remember the village called Teeban?”

“Huh?” Watee dropped his spoon. “Don’t tell me the concubine is from that warrior tribe?”

“So it seems.” Maitee picked the spoon, wiping it with a napkin.

“That’s impossible.” Watee shook his head. “Slave traders would never be able to capture anyone from those people. They are unbeatable… Oh! Or is it a trap? Did they let him be captured on purpose? Are they trying to invade the capital by infiltrating their own people among us?”

Maitee shook his head. “I’m afraid it’s worse than that.”

“What do you mean?” Watee frowned.

“I have been asking around and it might be that someone has robbed the shire of Teeban”

“A shire? That’s unforgivable! The Goddess will be furious. Anyone committing that kind of sin will be cursed.” Watee frightened. Even if their family was top of the earthly hierarchy. They could do nothing against their gods.

“Exactly, and I am afraid that… It is possible that T-rex has just bought a sacred virgin of Teeban to be his concubine.”

“Oh shit!” Watee cover his face with his palms. “We are doomed.”

“Maybe Teeban tribe will not get mad. Our T-rex is quite lovely.” Maitee consoled.

“Yeah! Let’s see how lovely they think it is to find out a little prince of Teekok has been sleeping with their sacred virgin!”

“Hmm, then we just have to keep it a secret that he is here until we come up with a plan on how to safely return him back to his tribe.” Maitee concluded.

“Haa-ah…” Watee sighed, rubbing his temples. His headache was getting worse.

Chapter 5: allegiance

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

“Ooh!” Maetee gasped, looking at himself from the mirror. Colourful floral gowns and silk veils covering his thin frame looked so extravagant. “I look so…beautiful…” He was about to tear up.

“Of course, you do. I’m good at my work.” Looksorn responded, finalising the make up and moved to his hair.

“I can’t believe that’s me…” Maetee admired his reflection as tears threatened to pour out.

“Hoi! hold it. Don’t ruin the makeup!” Looksorn warned, not wanting to waste time to redo it.

“But…”

“Mh, keep still. Your hair is still undone.” Looksorn applied oil on Maetee’s hair, getting it shiny and smooth.

“It smells nice.” Maetee sniffed the black locks. His beautiful long hair was something to be proud of.

“Um, jasmine is the prince’s favourite fragrance. It has a sensual odour, often used at marriage bed.” Looksorn revealed.

“Yeah…sensuel—What?! M-marriage bed!” Maetee was about to faint.

“Mh, Prince Vatee isn’t married yet. But you are the first one who he has picked personally, so you have good chances.” Looksorn hinted.

“Eh? But…”

“Actually, I have been suspecting Prince’s preferences for a good while… His current concubines don’t seem to attract him at all.” Looksorn wondered aloud. “It made me wonder that he might not want a wife…but a husband.”

“H-husband!” Maetee jolted up.

“Hoi! Sit down.” Looksorn pulled him back on the pillow. “I will make you as perfect as I can, but rest is up to your own performance. If you will do good. Prince might pick you tonight. Oh! You can read, right?”

“Y-yes.” Maetee nodded. He was a priestess, reading and writing prayers during the day, but when night fell…in the dim light of the candle, he opened the hidden scrolls of ancient love stories, hoping monks would not find out his secret hobby.

“Good.” Looksorn pledged allegiance by taking care of the prince’s new concubine, so maybe she should share some tips with him.

“If you can make him choose you for one hundred nights straight. The hundred and first will be your wedding night.”

“W-wedding! Uuuh…” Maetee whined, holding his heating cheeks.

One hundred and one nights with his prince and he would be upgraded from concubine to his husband. Would he be able to survive that long? Maetee had been admiring Prince’s portrait for years, but he had no idea how the real person would be.

This far Prince has been nothing but nice to him. Even so they really had had no chance to talk properly. Maetee was nervously looking forward today’s lunch date. It would surely determinate the course of their relationship. Maetee could only hope their time together would be ultimatly romantic, just like in his favourite tales.

Chapter Text

“How is the taste?” T-rex asked as Maetee kept gnawing the bread.

“Ah!” Maetee startled, spilling the water over the picnic blanket. “Oih! I’m so sorry, Your Highness!”

“Hey, don’t worry. It’s just water.” T-rex blessed him with a tender smile.

“But…” Maetee’s heart took a joyful jump for seeing that smile. How could his Prince be so sweet? Usually he would be scolded for being clumsy.

“Don’t these foods fit your taste?” T-rex asked concerned since his concubine seemed to have no appetite. “You haven’t even touched your sauce.”

“No! It’s a delightful meal with you, Your Highness. I just…”

“You don’t like sauce? T-rex guessed.

“Ah! No, I…I lived in a temple, so I am not used to all these fancy foods…” Maetee came up with truthful explanation. That could be one reason why he didn’t like it.

“Hey, it's okay if you don’t like it. I want to learn what fits in your taste.”

“Umm…” Maetee was hesitating. His prince was so kind and considerate. How could he say he couldn’t eat it? He was not a picky eater, but there were a few things he didn’t like.

“So? Anything else you don’t like?” T-rex asked, wanting to know more about his concubine.

“Vegetables…and spicy food.” Maetee revealed. Somehow T-rex was easy to talk with even if he was a royal.

“Oh! You like plain and simple food.” T-rex stunned. What a big baby his new concubine was.

“Yes.” Maetee nodded.

“I like it spicy! Hahaha.” T-rex burst in laughter. “How intresting that we have so different preferences in foods.”

“Umh… Y-yes, Your Highness.” Maetee nodded again, not sure what he was expected to do.

“Hmm, Maetinee. That’s one thing. You should call me T-rex.”

“Eh? But that—”

“Nice to meet you. I’m T-rex. Who are you?” T-rex smiled, casually introducing himself.

“Um, I’m Maetee…”

“Oh! Not Maetinee?

“That’s my girl name.” Maetee revealed.

“I see! Good to know you, Maetee. Would you rather dress as a man?” T-rex confirmed Maetee was not forced to dress up against his will.

“Oh no! I like these dresses very much!” Maetee touched the fine silk. “It’s so beautiful…”

“Great! I’m glad to hear you like it. I thought it would suit you. If you have anything on your mind. Please, just let me know what you need and you will have it.” T-rex promised.

“Huh?” Maetee blinked.

“You are my concubine now…” T-rex took a black lock between his fingers and brought it close to his face. “Smells nice…” He sniffed the hair, making poor Maetee heavily blush.

Was it happening now? Would Prince ask him to join him to take a rest somewhere more private…

“So do not hesitate to ask. Whatever your heart desires…you shall have.” T-rex promised, their eyes locking, and there it was again, that warmth Maetee had sensed at the marketplace.

“Mh, that’s how I will take care of you.” T-rex said and caressed Maetee’s silky hair. He picked a small flower from the lawn and tucked it behind Maetee’s ear. “Pretty.”

“Ah!” Maetee felt how his heart was thumping harder and harder. His prince of dreams was not just fantasy, but realest reality! And he was hundred times—No! Thousand times better than he had ever even dared to imagine. Not even in his stories princes were as lovely as T-rex.

“Thank you… For saving me.” Maetee waived, recollecting his composure. It was not time to lose it and fangirl over the prince.

“Sure! When I saw you on that stage I knew right away that you belong with me.” T-rex grinned from ear to ear.

“Oh! How…” Maetee gasped, hopeful fluttering in his chest. Could it be… Love at first sight!

“I don’t know. Just when our eyes met. I just knew it.” T-rex smiled, gazing into his eyes again.

Maetee shyly giggled. He had had that same feeling too. That they were meant to be. Destined to be together. Ooh! It was so ultimately romantic!

“Mh! Thank you for lunch company.” T-rex stood up. “I must get going.”

“Eh? So soon…” Maetee didn’t want him to leave yet. “What about your nap…”

“Aow! You heard about that. Um, today I have some work to do, so I must skip it this time. But thanks. See you around, Maetee.” T-rex waved and hurried to catch his meeting.

“Hoo… There he goes…” Maetee watched as the prince left in a hurry. Had he failed… Didn’t the prince desire him? Wasn’t he pretty enough? Had he said something wrong? Or how was this supposed to go?

“Uuh… Looksoooorn…” Maetee gazed at his maid like a lost puppy.

“Don’t worry. It’s not your fault. He really is busy. Royal emissary and royal advisor are making their visit.” Looksorn consoled.

“Ah! Is something wrong?” Maetee startled. It sounded serious if so many important people gathered for a meeting.

“The neighbouring country is in crisis, but don’t bother your head with that. Instead, focus on winning over his heart.” Looksorn instructed. “Tonight you must get into Prince’s bed.”

“K-krub.” Maetee nodded. It was a must. For his personal reasons as well. Maetee couldn’t even imagine sleeping alone in this huge imperial palace. You could never know what might be lurking in the shadows…

Chapter 7: royal

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Looksorn guided Maetee to the inner rooms. The rooms of T-rex’s harem. The ladies living there were T-rex’s concubines chosen by the royal advisors or received as a gift from other royals.

“Hmm… So you are his new body pillow?” Concubine A looked Maetee judgingly from head toes as other girls surrounded him.

“Ah… Hi, I’m Maetee…” Maetee tried to politely introduce himself.

“How much did he pay from you?” Concubine B nosily asked.

“Eh? Umm…one billion.” Maetee had no sense about the worth of money.

“What?! One billion! That’s outrageous!” Concubine C startled.

“And you are even wearing the best silk!” Concubine D added, jealousy looking Maetee’s attire.

“And the jewelleries!” Concubine E pointed out and others agreed, Maetee had the best ones. Even new diamonds and golden chains and bracelets they had never seen before.

“I didn’t choose these by myself…” Maetee tried to defend himself.

“Of course, you didn’t. These all belong to the Prince.” Concubine A rose her chin.

“So are you aiming to get into his bed tonight?” Concubine B guessed.

“Ah…” Maetee blushed. That was the plan.

“Trying to be innocent, huh?” Concubine C couldn’t stand how cutely Maetee was shying out. That would definitely appeal for the prince.

“You don’t fool us. We heard how you tried to get him to take a nap with you!” Concubine D accused.

“But he has work…” Maetee explained how it was.

“Yeah! So shameless of you to try to seduce him in the middle of the day.” Concubine E joined to mock him.

“No, I didn’t—”

“Haha! We know how you newbies are.” Concubine A stepped ahead. “Just because you are his first male concubine, don’t think it will make you any more special.”

“Mh! He has plenty of choices.” Concubine B spun around, presenting her beauty.

“Right! So he won’t pick you just because you are new.” Concubine C agreed.

“He needs someone he can trust to guard his sleep.” Concubine D smirked.

“Remember that!” Concubine E said and the laughing ladies disappeared into the inner rooms of the harem. Hopefully they had frightened him enough to pack his bags and leave.

Maetee was left alone with his servant. “What was that all about?” He was shocked. He had thought they would become friends, but T-rex’s concubines were nasty people.

“They all fight for the attention of the same man.” Looksorn stated, not surprised at all, but even more convinced these ladies were afraid of the newcomer. Maetee had got a private room after all, so they must know what it was indigating.

“But… Do they even love him?” Maetee couldn’t understand. “It sounded like they were here just for these luxuries...”

“Unfortunately that’s how it usually goes.” Looksorn admitted Maetee’s observation to be correct. “Concubines are just one part of the political power game between royals.”

“But… T-rex is so kind.” Maetee said, clutching his veil. “He deserves someone who truly cares about him.”

Looksorn smiled, hearing Maetee’s thoughts. Maybe the prince had finally found the one.

Chapter Text

Evening came faster than Maetee had expected. New place was filled with thousands of new customs and rules he had to learn and remember. He was busy with rehearsal of his dance when Looksorn appeared.

“Hurry up and undress!”

“Huh?” Maetee stunned. “But I already took a bath.”

“You have to take an evening bath before bed and change clothes.” Looksorn quickly filled the tub and arranged the new attire.

“Again?” Maetee blinked. How luxurious the life was in the palace that you could bathe both in the morning and evening.

“Night is approaching…” Looksorn was ready to go to extra lengths for this one. She had especially asked what nightwear the prince wanted his new concubine to wear tonight. “You want to impress the prince, don’t you?”

“Mh.” Maetee nodded. It was his mission of the night, to get into the prince’s bedchamber.

“It’s a battlefield. Everyone has the same aim, so you must do everything to catch his attention.” Looksorn explained while tying Maetee’s hair up on a bun, so it would not get wet in the bath.

Maetee let warm water embrace his body. He hadn’t even realised how tired he was. It was making him drowsy. Prince’s smiling face appeared in his mind and Maetee smiled, imagining how he would be sleeping in his prince’s arms…

“Hoi, sleepyhead!” Looksorn shook Maetee awake from his daydreams. “Get up and dry yourself. Then rub this oil on your body.” Looksorn was efficiently preparing Maetee for the fight.

“It smells nice…” Maetee sniffed, applying the oil everywhere.

“Fragrance of lavender has a calming effect so this essential-oil is a good choice for bed.” Looksorn shared her professional knowledge.

“Aww…so Prince will have a good sleep with me, hihi!” Maetee giggled, already seeing how they would cuddle in Prince’s bed.

“This under garment and that night rope.” Looksorn offered Maetee a cute but simple nightwear.

“Eh?” Meatee blushed. “N-not anything else…”

“Nightwear should be light and breathe well so that you will be comfortable and don’t get hot.” Looksorn explained the functionality of the chosen costume.

“Umh…” Maetee carefully dressed up in the thin silk and watched himself from the mirror. “Isn’t it a bit too short?” He was used to gowns that reached to the ground, but this ended ten centimetres above, exposing his ankles.

“You will be shocked when you see others’ nightgowns.” Looksorn rolled her eyes, knowing how the girls weren’t stingy with their attires. “This one is modest.”

“Isn’t it a bit too frivolous?” Maetee doubted. He had never shown that much skin before.

“This look is only meant for Prince eyes, so isn’t he allowed to see a bit?” Looksorn winked.

Maetee felt his cheeks heating. Right, he was Prince’s concubine now. Of course, T-rex had all the right to look at him unlike in his home temple where no one was allowed to see or touch the sacred virgin.

Maetee tightened the belt, tying up the rope.

“Don’t fasten it too tight.” Looksorn instruncted and adjusted the fabric again. “It will be hard for you to breathe and move.”

“It has to be tight so that it won’t loosen up. Silk is so smooth and slippery that it might easily fall off.” Maetee defended his method.

“Exactly.” Looksorn nodded.

“Eh?” Maetee got confused.

“It should be loose enough to be easily opened.” Looksorn reminded.

“O-opened!” Maetee gasped.

“Mh, you want to show Prince you are willing and available.”

Maetee swallowed. What would actually happen if Prince chose him tonight…

Meanwhile in the inner rooms of the palace the showtime was about to start.

“Good evening!” T-rex appeared in the harem and everyone hurdled around him like bees around honey.

“How was your day, Prince Vatee?” Concubine A asked, batting her eyelashes, an unheard flirty tone in her voice.

“Haa-ah…” T-rex sighed and plopped in the pile of fluffy pillows. “You know, P’Watee was nagging as usual.”

“Aww… That must have been so hard for you.” Concubine B cooed and sneaked to massage T-rex’s shoulders.

“Yeah! No idea why he is always so pissed?” T-rex was relaxing after work.

“Maybe it’s something to do with King Vimarnsukmun passing away…” Concubine C suggested, the rumours had reached their nosy ears as well.

“Aow! Right it’s total chaos in our neighbouring country since Gramps kicked the bucket so suddenly. Teedet had to travel there to support P’Home.” T-rex babbled. “They are relatives.” He added in case no one knew.

“Are you going to attend the funeral?” Concubine D joined the conversation, massaging T-rex’s feet.

“Hmm…” T-rex rubbed his chin. “I think it’s P’Watee’s duty as the crown prince, but it would be nice opportunity. P’Home’s parties are always so swag.”

“If you cannot go yourself, maybe you can send condolences by sending some of us?” Concubine E suggested.

“Ooh! Nice idea. Who wants to go?” T-rex asked and all the ladies raised their hands. Prince Saharat was knowingly rich and generous man.

“Aow! You all want to go?” T-rex was surprised to see all his concubines were ready to switch him to Prince Home. He was not that much richer, but he was the heir which T-rex wasn’t, so he kinda understood.

“Okay, I will negotiate about it with my brother. But! Now it’s bedtime. Whose turn to sleep with me?” T-rex was gazing around his eyes looking for a certain someone. “Aow! Where is Maetee?”

“He must be busy with other things.” Concubine A suggested.

“Huh?” T-rex stunned. “What things?”

“Well…he is a man after all…” Concubine B shrugged, making all the ladies chuckle.

T-rex rubbed his head confused. What did his gender have to do with anything? Even if Maetee was a man, he had no other duties than being his concubine.

“Prince Vatee…don’t you rather sleep with us?” Concubine C hugged T-rex’s arm.

“We are softer to cuddle with.” Concubine D emphasised, loosening her veil around her bust.

“Aow!” T-rex gasped, doubting it. Maetee’s skin was so smooth and soft… And as far as he had experienced, the boobs were always on the way.

“We will make sure you have sweet dreams…” Concubine D promised. Before Concubine E could add her opinion about their superiority, the doors were pushed open.

“Your Highness! Khun Maetee.” Looksorn announced as Maetee appeared, putting on a little dance performance while chanting blessing prayers.

“Whoaa…” T-rex gasped, jaw dropping. His eyes nailed on that deligate figure swirling around like petals which breeze of wind shook free from the blooming trees.

Prince was pleased to see the clothes fit Maetee perfectly. His new concubine was the prettiest. Pastel colours were soothing and butterfly embroidery was elegant and cute. All its simplicity Maetee looked like a sweet dessert neatly wrapped on lotus leaf, only wating for someone to have a taste…

“Bravo! You never stop impressing me, Maetee.” T-rex applauded as Maetee took his ending position. “You look so beautiful in that nightgown…”

“Of course, he does. That costume is picked by you, Prince Vatee.” Concubine A tried to save the endangered situation.

“Yes, you have such a good sense of style, Prince Vatee.” Concubine B continued, trying to bring Prince attention back to them, but it was useless. The smitten smile on Prince’s face was clear sign that T-rex only saw his new male concubine.

“Come, Maetee! It’s bedtime.” T-rex took Maetee’s hand and dragged him with him.

“Looksorn!” Concubine A screamed after Prince had left. “What was that about?”

“What?” Looksorn glanced at the angry troupe of concubines unbothered.

“Why did you make him so pretty?” Concubine B asked.

“If someone is naturally beautiful it doesn’t even take that much effort.” Looksorn boldly stated.

“Hoi!” The concubines were not pleased to hear her sassy answer.

“Listen, my only duty is to serve our Prince to the best of my ability. If you have any problem with him being keen to his new concubine just leave. We are here for his happiness, not to cause useless drama.” Looksorn wasn’t scared to say what she thought and that totally pissed off the two-faced concubines.

“Argh!” They stomped away, fuming with anger.

Chapter Text

Maetee was shifting back and forth at the doorway of the glorious bedchamber. The enormous bed was filled with tens of fluffy pillows. He had to admit it looked very comfy and inviting. He would have liked to just jump on it like the prince had done.

“Maetee! Come here.” T-rex called, moving the pillows, so that there would be space for his concubine.

“Uumh…” Maetee was hesitating. Prince looked so cute and cuddly in his sleepwear.

“Maeteeeee!” T-rex was hopping on the bed, getting impatient. “Hurry up! You have to read me a bedtime story.” T-rex said and handed Maetee a thick old book.

The first test was just as Looksorn had told. T-rex’s concubine must know how to read.

“Constitution of Teeland.” Maetee read from the cover. Reading wouldn’t be any problem for him. Maetee was very literate, a bookworm in a sense.

“I borrowed it from P’Watee. He has a lot of boring books that help you to sleep.”

“Ahaa…” Maetee wasn’t sure about that method. He loved reading more heart fluttering stories back at home before sleep.

T-rex got comfortable on the bed and gazed at Maetee still daydreaming. “Come here.” He raised the blanket and patted the spot beside him.

“Eh?” Maetee blinked. “M-me? In your bed…” Even if he had come this far knowing where it was leading, it still felt rather unbeliavable.

“Mh! This is a big bed.” T-rex stretched out his arms, not even reaching half of the width. “Even if you are tall, we will fit. All my concubines have slept with me.” T-rex explained.

“All of them?” Maetee amazed. T-rex was quite something.

“Come, it is a heavy book.” T-rex urged Maetee into the bed.

Warily Maetee sat on the edge of the bed. It had been so long since he had slept with anyone. In the temple he was guarded by monks sleeping outside of his bedroom, but some nights he had hoped he could have sneaked home to hug his mother.

“Lean on the pillows.” T-rex arranged a good reading position for his concubine of the night.

Maetee did as told, lied comfortably and took the big book on his lap. “Where do I start?”

“Anywhere! Hehe!” T-rex giggled. “There are not any spoilers no matter where you start reading since the plot of this story is as dull as the title suggests.”

“Okay.” Maetee opened the first page. “Teeland. Area: 513,115 square kilometres. Population: 70 million. Capital: Teekok. Government: Monarch. Ruler: Emperor Watin Reaugrittiroj. Spouse and family: Queen Ploy, deceased. Eldest son, Crown Prince Watee. Second wife Queen Koy. Second son, Prince Vatee…”

“Uoooooh…” T-rex loudly yawned.

It made Maetee consider his options. He could either read T-rex this absolutely boring listing of facts of their kingdom or colour the picture out of its edges, giving the story a new form.

Maetee slammed the book close. This was not a way to tell a story!

“Huh?” Drowsy T-rex stunned. “Did it end already?” He sounded a bit disappointed. Maetee was supposed to read until he fell asleep.

“Ahem!” Maetee cleared his throat and started again from the start.

“Once upon a time. There was a sunny and beautiful country called Teeland. Its vast land spread across the peninsula that met the sea in the south and mountains in the north. Beaches with white sand and ocean with crystal clear water blessed the people living at the shoreline. Lush and green forest offered shelter and fresh fruits to people at the mountain villages. In the capital, the rich and advantaged Teekok, located the imperial palace of their beloved Emperor Watin and his family. From his first marriage the king had one son, crown prince Watee, known for his pedantic legislation and strict rules that guarded the welfare of everyone. The younger prince T-rex was bringing joy to his people with his bright smile and idealistic ways to support those in need. Young Prince’s latest good deed was to bring in a poor male concubine, robbed from his home. Embraced with the prince’s endless kindness the concubine was not afraid to sleep at the palace on his first night.”

“Whoaa…” T-rex gasped and sat up. “Maetee! You are awesome. I have never heard a story so good!” The prince was impressed, looking at his newest concubine in awe.

“Er… I just told the story…in my own words.” Maetee was slightly blushing, embarrassed of T-rex’s praises. “That’s really nothing special.”

“No way! You have a gift!” T-rex took Maetee’s hands into his own, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “Not just anyone can turn a boring book into an exciting adventure.” Maetee’s telling was so vivid. T-rex could have imagined it in his mind like it had happened right in front of his own eyes. “Tell me more. What happened next? How did the new concubine like sleeping with the prince?”

“Umm…” Maetee put the book on the nightstand and tucked T-rex back into bed. “That’s a story for another time. Now it’s time to sleep, Your Highness.”

“T-rex!” T-rex immediately corrected.

“Ah, it’s time for T-rex to sleep.” Maetee cutely told and lifted the blanket up to his prince’s neck.

“Hmph!” T-rex pouted. “I want to hear the continuation of your storyyy…” He whined, throwing a bedtime tantrum as the pampered little prince he was.

“Uh-uh!” Maetee stayed strong. Looksorn had warned him about this. The prince should be sleeping before the clock struck midnight or he would be too lazy on the next day and end up scolded by his brother. “It’s time to sleep.”

“Will you sing me a lullaby?” T-rex asked.

“Er…you can listen to me chant.” Maetee suggested, pulling out his charm and started mumbling the protective prayer.

“Mh,” T-rex nodded and snuggled closer. He was tired after all and Maetee’s voice was soothing, making him comfy and sleepy. “Goodnight, Maetee…” He said and closed his eyes.

Silently Maetee whispered his prayers like any other night, but just having the prince cuddled by his side made his heart swell. Was this how true happiness felt like? Falling asleep without fear. Even if he was far away from home and everything familiar, he felt safe.

Maetee…” T-rex was murmuring in his sleep and his arms wrapped around Maetee, pulling him into a hug.

“Uiiih…” Maetee’s joyful scream was muffled on the prince’s chest. “Dear Phra Mae Teeban, thank you! Thank you for answering my prayers.” Maetee concluded his chanting and snuggled closer into the embrace.

Maetee sniffed, trying to recognise Prince’s fragnance. Could it be same as his? Thought made Maetee giggle. Wasn’t it quite a couple thing to have similar odour. Anyway T-rex smelled super nice and Maetee just wanted to nuzzle his nose into the soft linen of his shirt. Whatever scent T-rex was wearing for the bed, it was nothing like the bitter incense smell of the shrine.

Goodnight, T-rex.” Maetee hissed, careful not to wake him up. He took one more glance of his handsome prince just to make sure it was not a dream before closing his own eyes.

Finally Maetee felt like he had found the place he belonged to. It was good here in T-rex’s arms. Instead of crying himself to sleep, like many nights before when he had felt so scared to be alone on the mercy of evil spirts or anything else that there might be lurking in the dark night. At least tonight, he could sleep with a smile on his face.

Chapter Text

Dawn broke out bright and sunny. T-rex stretched his body only hitting his new body pillow.

“Ouch!” Maetee whined, but still in half asleep, snuggled back into the sheets.

T-rex chuckled seeing that. He turned on his side to look at his new concubine better. Maetee was his first male concubine, so obviously there were many physical differences just because of that.

Maetee’s long hair was messily spread across the pillow. T-rex tucked a few locks away from his face to examine his features. It was a man…a very handsome man. T-rex let his hands wander. He moved the blanket away from his curious gaze.

Maetee’s night rope had loosened, exposing more bare skin than allowed. A tiny pink nipple was peeking under the thin fabric, like wanting to say him hello.

T-rex bit his lip. He felt the urge to touch, but kept his hands to himself. Maetee was a new concubine, so it should not be rushed. T-rex pulled the blanket back up, but covering the upper body revealed the lower body.

T-rex stared at the smooth skin of long legs. Holy Basil! His concubine had a nice pair of legs! T-rex slapped his cheeks. This has never happened with any other of his concubines. So why was Maetee awakening such a strong reaction in him?

Adventurous T-rex raised the blanket just a little bit to see a glimpse of the shape printing through his choice of undergarment. That part of his concubine was very manly, size wise…

Maetee turned around in his sleep, pulling the whole blanket with him.

“Oh!” T-rex was amazed to see his own body in the state it was. Okay, it was morning and all, but it must be because of Maetee…

It was not helping at all that Maetee had turned his meaty bottom to T-rex to drool at. Night rope had rolled up and the hips were tilted so invitingly, almost like Maetee had wanted T-rex to pull off his panties and just—Oops-Oops!

In such a severe situation, there was only one thing T-rex could do—a regal escape! If he couldn’t look at his concubine respectfully he must leave and take a cold bath instead.

Looksorn was just about to come to wake them up when T-rex stormed out.

“Good morning, Your Highness—” Looksorn waied.

“Morning!” T-rex passed her in high speed.

Still Looksorn couldn’t be without noticing Prince’s red cheeks and awkward smile. She peeked into the room, seeing Maetee snoring and drooling while hugging the blanket.

Looksorn cunningly smiled. “So this is our Prince’s type…”

“Good morning, sleepyhead.” Looksorn opened the curtains. “It’s time to rise and shine!”

“Umh…” Maetee whined, trying to pull the blanket over his head. “Five more minutes…”

“You should return to your own room.”

“No…” Maetee buried in the sheets.

“Didn’t you get enough sleep?” Looksorn checked. Maetee looked almost proper. So maybe Prince had not done anything, yet.

“Hihi! We hugged the whole night…” Maetee giggled. “Prince’s strong arms were around me, holding me in a tight embrace…”

“Hmm…so are you wasting time because you want to see Prince fresh washed after his morning bath?”

“Huh?”

“He will soon come to change his clothes if his naked body was the sight you were after.”

“No!” Suddenly Maetee was wide awake. T-rex’s bare toned chest, biceps and abs popping in his mind. “Uih! No-no-no!” Maetee slapped his heating face. “I-I wasn’t planning anything like that!”

“Hmm…” Looksorn had already seen Maetee’s very opposite reaction.

“Really! I am a pure maiden—Yikes!” Maetee saw his reflection from the mirror. Night rope was half open and his bed hair was legendary. “Oh my god! My prince cannot see me like this.” Maetee dashed to the east wing to refresh his appearance.

Looksorn bathed Maetee, combed his hair and dressed in a comfortable morning gown to wait for his hair to dry after applying nice smelling essential oils.

“You can wait here while I prepare your clothes for the day.”

Looksorn left Maetee enjoy slight breakfast in the comfy pillow room of the harem. There, the concubines surrounded him once again. The ladies were salty, bitter of the loss last night. Not trying to hide their sharp nails and venom in their voice.

“Huh! Don’t get cocky because the prince chose you last night.” Concubine A aggressively mocked, robbing the smile from Maetee’s face.

“Yeah, don’t think too highly of yourself. Just because he chose you on your first night, does not mean he will choose you ever again.” Concubine B continued with a similar tone.

Maetee buried deeper into the pillows.

“Mh! He must have pitied you.” Concubine C added.

“Poor little thing, scared and alone in a new place…” Concubine D wickedly chuckled.

“Right. Don’t expect you will get as lucky tonight.” Concubine E warned.

“Let the prince choose the one he really wants to sleep with.” Concubine A concluded.

“Excuse me, ladies.” Looksorn barged into the room. “Sorry to interrupt your friendly conversation, but I need to prepare Khun Maetee for the day.” She gestured Maetee to follow her back to his private chamber.

“He must be ready whenever the prince asks for his company.” Looksorn gave the girls a warning glance. Indeed, they should be scared of their new competitor. Maetee was going to steal away all the attention of their prince and they could do nothing about it.

Maetee was sobbing as they returned to his room.

“Don’t mind them.” Looksorn advised.

“B-but they are so mean…” Maetee wailed, uselessly drying his tears. “Bohoo… I want to go home… I miss my Mae and—”

“Hoi! You belong to the prince now. He bought you. You should be grateful for his kindness and generosity.” Looksorn reminded. “One night done. One hundred nights to go. You cannot give up because of those bitches.”

Maetee shivered. Looksorn really was not saving her words. Seemingly she was annoyed by them as well.

“Look. These fine clothes on you. These expensive jewelleries. All the tasty delicacies. These luxurious rooms you are allowed to live in. Everything is provided by your prince.” She gave some examples why Maetee should keep fighting. Ultimately, Prince needed him to stay strong against the bullies.

“Mhm…” Maetee let out a wet nod. Looksorn was right. Prince was generous. How could he ever pay back his kindness?

“So do not complain. You are privileged.” Looksorn stated. Maetee was the chosen one even if he had not yet realised it himself.

“What about you?” Maetee wiped his tears. “Are you…”

“I am forever grateful to his highness for choosing me to be his trustworthy servant.” Looksorn raised her chin. “I am proud of my position. So do not put shame on him by complaining. You would have ended up a lot worse if his gracefulness had not bought you.”

Maetee felt shivers, remembering the market day and the eyes of the dirty old men. Looksorn was right. He really was lucky T-rex had chosen him, but he still missed home and his mother.

“Mh, dry your tears.” Looksorn left to fetch some fruits and tea to cheer up the upset concubine. Maetee went to a little praying room at the back to calm down, but persistent tears kept coming.

“Maeeee.. ” Maetee wailed, missing his mother.

“Why are you crying little bride?”

“Huh?” Maetee raised his teary eyes towards the voice and saw a beautiful lady. The same one as in the portrait on the wall…the deceased queen…

“Aaiiiieeee!” Maetee screamed, “Q-queen Ploy’s g-ghost!”

“Calm down, little bride. I’m Pim, twin sister of the former queen.” The lady introduced herself.

“Eh?” Maetee stopped.

“Look at you, pretty one. What would your prince say if he saw you in tears?” Pim tenderly smiled at him.

“Ah, sorry… I’m just so scared of ghosts.”

“Don’t be. Not all the spirits around are malicious. Like my sister…sometimes I can still feel her presence.”

“Uuh…” Maetee shivered, he could feel the presence of something as well.

“I’m happy these rooms have got a new resident… It was empty for so long.” Pim was looking around with sadness visible in her eyes.

“Empty…”

“As you might have guessed, these were Ploy’s rooms when she was still King Watin’s concubine.” Pim revealed, nodding at her sister’s portrait.

“Queen Ploy’s room…” Maetee waied for the portrait. Ploy looked very kind.

“Usually concubines live together in the harem in an inner place, but sometimes there is one who gets special treatment and private rooms.”

“Eh! Don’t the rest of the girls have their own rooms?” Maetee was stunned. He thought all of them had their own room.

“No. That privilege belongs only to the one who Prince aims to make his wife.”

“W-wife!” Maetee yelped.

“Hahaha…or maybe in this case his husband.” Pim winked. “Stay strong, little bride. Other girls are jealous for a reason. They know Prince has chosen you.”

“M-me?” Maetee pointed at himself with a shaking finger. Has his prince chosen him?

“Yes. Ploy had a hard time as well when King Watin made his choice. Regardless of the hindrancing attempts of the other concubines, Ploy was able to make it, to get married and have a beautiful son. Everything was perfect until…”

“What happened to her?” Maetee asked, knowing the queen had died young.

“It was suspected that she was poisoned.”

“Poisoned!?” Maetee shocked.

“Um, competition in harem is hard…rest of the concubines killed her out of envy.” Pim’s expression darkened. “They thought they could have replaced her…”

“That’s horrible.” Maetee shook his head, not believing how such an awful thing could happen in such a glamourous palace.

“As a punishment all of them were banished…” Pim clenched her fists.

“What about you—”

“Maetee.” Looksorn returned, carrying in a tray of fruits. “Who are you talking to?”

“Ah! This is…” Maetee turned back, but there was no one. “Huh? She was right here…”

Something in Looksorn’s gaze switched as she looked around the small praying room without any other doors than the one she had used. “Who were you talking to Maetee?” She repeated the question in a more demanding tone.

“Huh? Looksorn, you are scaring me.” Maetee told, sensing something was wrong.

“Who were you talking to?” Looksorn asked, and finally Maetee recognised that gaze in her eyes. It was fear…

“She just wanted to visit…”

“Who!”

“Queen’s twin sister!” Maetee pointed at the portrait. “P-Pim…”

Looksorn’s face turned pale. “Maetee… Pim is dead.”

Shivers went through Maetee’s body and scream got stuck in the throat, he was shaking all over. “B-but that’s not possible. She was here just a moment ago and…”

“Pim hanged herself in this room…after killing the whole harem.”

“W-what…” Maetee was trembling. As a punishment all of them were banished…

Pim’s words echoed in his mind. What was she trying to tell him? That he should do the same and punish the girls who had bullied him…

“Oh my god!” Maetee yelped, realising the vengeful spirit might have been trying to possess him. His body and mind couldn’t handle the fear and shock. Everything turned black as Maetee fainted on the floor.

Chapter Text

T-rex was visiting the east wing immediately after he had heard Maetee had fainted.

“Are you feeling any better?” T-rex asked, sitting on the edge Maetee’s bed.

“Yes.” Maetee nodded embarrassed that he had caused such a scene. “I’m sorry for worrying you.”

“Uh-uh.” T-rex shook his head. “That’s my duty. To worry and care for you.” He caressed Maetee’s head. “Are you stressed? Not eating well or—”

“No! It was my own fault because…” Maetee was hesitating about how much he could say. “…because I am scared of ghosts.”

“Eh! Ghosts?” T-rex amazed.

“Umm… I saw Queen Ploy’s portrait in the praying room and realised these rooms belonged to her and got frightened.” Maetee revealed one part of the reason.

“Aow! I’m sorry. I didn’t tell you beforehand, but I can assure you that Queen Ploy was a very kindhearted person. Although I never had a chance to meet her… I am sure she would be happy that you are living here in her old room.” T-rex consoled.

“Y-yeah…” Maetee nodded, warily gazing at the closed door which Looksorn had sealed with holy water.

“Anything else on your mind?” T-rex asked. “I can tell something is troubling you.”

“Ah! I… that’s…” Maetee mumbled, not knowing how to explain. No matter how mean other concubines were to him, Maetee didn’t want anything bad to happen to them. Possible revenge of Pim’s ghost was scary, so Maetee had to find a way to protect them from that.

“Hey, it’s alright if you are not ready to tell me everything yet.” T-rex ended Maetee’s struggle.

“Eh? But there is something…you should know…” Maetee gazed up at his prince. He didn’t want to hide anything from him, but if T-rex knew…it might put him into danger too.

“Mh, you should recover first.” T-rex held Maetee’s hand and brought it close to his face, placing a tiny kiss on it. “We can talk when you are feeling better.”

“Uiiih…” Maetee was squirming, holding his cheeks. Prince had kissed his hand! That was all it needed to Maetee feel better. And on top of that T-rex was so tender and understanding, not forcing him to talk when he felt it was difficult.

“Hehe!” T-rex laughed, seeing Maetee’s funny reaction. “And don’t worry about the rest of the harem.”

“Huh?” Maetee stunned. Did T-rex know?

“Looksorn told me what happened in the morning.” T-rex sadly smiled.

“Oh! She did?”

“I am very sorry you had to endure that.” T-rex petted Maetee’s shoulder. “It was unthoughtful of me not to consider how favouring you could put you in a difficult position among other concubines.”

“No! That’s not your fault.” Maetee startled. T-rex should not apologise because of the bad behaviour of others.

“Uh-uh.” T-rex shook his head. “You don’t have to worry about them anymore. I reported this incident to my brother, and P’Watee was furious to find out that harassing like that had occured in his palace. He already started a process for relocating the concubines.”

“Eh? But you will lose your concubines…” Maetee was worried it would weaken T-rex’s position in the complex system of royals.

“It does not matter. I cannot allow my favourite concubine to suffer because of the toxic harem.” T-rex spun a nice smelling hair around his finger. Maetee’s safety and well-being came first.

“Even so…” Maetee felt stung in his heart. T-rex was too good for his own good. Maetee was not worth of that kind of sacrifice. “Please, reconsider. I don’t want you to lose anything because of me.”

“Hmm, so sweet of you…” T-rex’s hand cupped Maetee’s cheek, lifting his gaze to meet his eyes. “You know, I would give up anything I own…to just have you.” He swore, his thumb brushing over Maetee’s trembling lips.

“Kyaaa!” Maetee pulled the blanket over his head. He couldn’t take it. The tension was too much for his inexperienced heart that was thumping ever so fast. It would burst out of that happy, embarrassing and overwhelming feeling.

“Uiiih… My Prince! What are you doing to my maiden heart?” Maetee cooed. He felt so giddy inside. How could things get any more romantic than that? It sounded like he was most important to T-rex.

“Pfft!” T-rex was struggling not to laugh. Maetee was way too silly and cute hiding under the blanket. “So… whatever your heart desires…you shall have.” Prince patted the giggling and screaming bundle. “I’m visiting Teekok’s marketplace today, any wish for a souvenir?”

Maetee peeked from his hiding place. “Um, I like reading and writing.” He revealed.

“Excellent!” T-rex hopped up and hurried to go shopping. “See you, in the afternoon, Maetee.” He left, blowing him a flying kiss.

“Aaaah!” Maetee caught the invisible kiss like an arrow of a cupid that hit his heart. “Oooh…T-reeeex!” Maetee screamed, hugging his pillow and rolled on his bed, so excited that he fell to the floor.

“Ouch! Oh! My Prince, why are you making me like this?” Maetee lifted the pillow above his head and easily his imagination replaced it by T-rex’s face. “My Prince…why are you looking at me like that with your starry eyes…” Maetee said as the pillow leaned closer and closer until he was kissing it.

“Oh! Sorry to interrupt.” Looksorn came in.

“Iiiek!” Maetee screamed, trying to hide under the bed. “D-did you see?”

“Mh, it is a good idea to start practising.” Looksorn nodded. “But I would suggest you open your mouth a little if you want to give Prince a good taste of your lips.”

“Aargh! No-no-no!” Maetee panicked. “I-I was not thinking about…”

“Kissing?” Looksorn helped.

“Nooo! Please, don’t say it aloud.” Maetee was so embarrassed.

“Huh? There is nothing wrong if you want to kiss him.”

“Uuuh… Stop! I’m going to die.” Maetee’s face was so red and hot it might just burst.

“Fine, but what were you planning to do with the praying room?” Looksorn pointed at the eerie door.

“Ah! Right. I need you to get me something.”

Maetee needed supplies to craft talismans and protective charms to exorcise the haunting praying room of the east wing. But those he didn’t dare to ask directly from the prince. Instead he wrote a secret shopping list for Looksorn.

Even if the other concubines that probably were most in danger because of a vengeful spirit, were about to be sent somewhere safe, Maetee couldn’t share a room with a ghost!

Thanks to the goddess, Maetee was allowed to sleep with T-rex. He surely wouldn’t survive a night alone in these rooms. With all his expertise gained from years living in the temple with monks, Maetee began to plan how to guide Pim forward.

Right after Prince returned from the city, books, paper rolls and ink were delivered in Maetee’s rooms.

“Anything else?” T-rex asked, eager to make his concubine feel homey.

“I would like to write a letter to my mother to tell her I am fine.” Maetee said.

“Oh! Of course. If you want I can send someone to fetch her. If you want her here.” T-rex offered.

“Oh! No-no. I would get scolded.” Maetee frightened.

“Aow? If I read that reaction right, your mother is a strict person.” T-rex confirmed his observation.

“She is!” Maetee shivered.

“But she must be a lovely mother.” T-rex smiled.

“Huh?” Maetee stunned.

“Since she has raised this lovely son.” T-rex giggled, pinching his cheek.

“Uhm…” Maetee heavily blushed. Was Prince flirting with him?

“Cute.” T-rex rested his chin on his palms, admiring his concubine. Lately Prince had spent all his free time in the company of his favourite concubine and today was not any exception.

“Your Highness!” Teedo shouted from the door. T-rex was late again.

“Your brother is waiting.”

“Oh! Is it the time already?” T-rex stood up. “How does time fly when you are having a good time? See you later, Maetee.” T-rex waved and hurried to the meeting.

Watee had authority over the kingdom, including his younger brother who was more and more forgetting anything else than his super pretty and funny concubine.

Chapter Text

In the evening Maetee was picked once again. At that point it wasn’t any surprise for anyone anymore. It was obvious that Maetee had become T-rex’s favourite.

Also, the prince was too immersed into the story to skip a night without his storyteller concubine. The story had reached a very exciting part where Maetee told about his own home village, Teeban, far north in the sovereign province of Chiang Tee.

The northern village, Teeban, was protected by the surrounding mountains and a warrior tribe that has lived in the area over generations. Many pilgrims and monks travelled there to visit the holy shrine of Phra Mae Teeban—Northern deity of love and protection.

Teeban village was a happy place, filled with joy and laughter. The village lived in a peaceful harmony together with the surrounding nature and old traditions. The most important of which was the tradition honouring the Legend of Lady Teeban.

Every twenty years a ten-year-old girl was chosen to be a sacred virgin. Dedicated to live in the shrine, dancing for the grace of the goddess Phra Mae Teeban.

After her honourable service of twenty years, now a fully grown up sacred virgin retired with a huge celebration. She still had one last duty, to decide the content of the Teeban challenge.

A sacred virgin planned three missions, and whoever could clear the tasks she had placed was allowed to marry her. Sometimes if a sacred virgin wished not to marry, she could come up with so difficult challenges that those were not possible to complete. But even then, things never ended as tragic as in the original story of lady Teeban.

“That’s it for tonight.” Maetee stopped.

“Nooo!” T-rex whined. “You cannot end here. What happened to Lady Teeban? How did she become a deity?”

“That’s story for another time—”

“No! I want to hear it now.” T-rex kicked his legs.

“You should sleep.” Maetee tried to convince the tantrum throwing Prince. “Tomorrow is a work day and—”

“Hmph!” T-rex pouted, not accepting it. “I’m not sleepy yet.”

“But it’s bedtime.” Maetee did his best to stay strong, but T-rex was making it hard for him with his childish but adorable act.

“Aow! Huhuhu…so it’s bedtime…” T-rex smirked, mischievous spark in his eyes. “If you don’t tell me another bedtime story, you have to give me a good night kiss.”

“W-what?!” Maetee panicked.

“Jub-jub!” T-rex puckered his lips and leaned closer.

“A-ah! Fine!” Maetee was not the strongest soldier.

“Mh!” T-rex smiled satisfied and laid back into the bed having a comfortable listening posture as Maetee shortly continued.

A long, long time ago, before lady Teeban was still a human. It was said that she was the most graceful dancer like a butterfly, fast as a dog and beautiful like a lotus.

One day a young man came to the village. The man was enchanted by her dance and offered to take her as his bride. Lady Teeban was frightened by the sudden offer, but the man promised to come back on the next full moon to properly propose to her and ask her hand from her father, the village leader.

Lady Teeban was so scared that her father was going to marry her to this man that she staged her own death in order to avoid leaving her home village which she loved more than anything.

On the night of the full moon, the man came back as promised, but he was devastated to find out that his beloved had died. In his desperation he took his own life by drowning into a river, and as Teeban saw that she realised her mistake.

She had been so afraid of love that she had chosen deception. Teeban felt so guilty for not trusting the man’s sincere feelings and threw herself into the same river that had taken away their possible love that she had been too scared to face.

A shrine was built on their memorial tomb, to protect anyone not to face that sad fate ever again. Therefore, the sacred virgin keeps dancing on the night of the full moon to ask a blessing for Phra Mae Teeban to not to be afraid and let love come to their village.

“Wow! That’s sick.” T-rex gasped as Maetee stopped. “What happened then?”

“It is late already, you should get to sleep, Your Highness.” Maetee ended a story for tonight. There would be no more extensions.

“It’s T-rex for you, my papillon.”

“Huh? Papillion…” Maetee blinked.

“Mh! Your description on Phra Mae Teeban made me think of a butterfly dog.”

“Butterfly dog?” Distantly Maetee recalled Queen Koy, T-rex mother having a small dog like that.

“Yep! You know, a person who is a graceful dancer like a butterfly, lively as a puppy, and very, very cute.” T-rex smirked, elbowing Maetee’s side.

“Eeh? Does that kind person even exist?” Seemingly Maetee didn’t catch the obvious hint.

“Hahaha! That’s you, my papillion!” T-rex laughed, pinching Maetee’s pink cheek.

“Oih! T-reeex…you are such a sweet talker.” Maetee nervously giggled. How could his heart survive any longer? He was falling deeper and deeper by each moment they were blessed to spend together.

“Come here.” T-rex opened his arms. “Let me hug you while you chant me into a dream.”

Maetee snuggled close. He couldn’t really deny how convenient it was that T-rex couldn’t sleep alone either. Somehow it felt like destiny had led them together. Maetee took his charm and started to silently mumble.

Goodnight and sweet dreams, my papillion.” T-rex whispered and Maetee felt a tiny sniff-kiss pressed on top of his head.

“Uiiih…” Maetee gasped for air, trying to calm down his happily bouncing heart. “Goodnight!” He pinched his eyes shut, inhaling the soothing scent of Prince’s night fragrance.

As always T-rex squeezed him tighter and Maetee nuzzled his nose on the Prince’s chest. T-rex’s loosely tied night rope was offering a narrow opening and under the fabric, Maetee could smell T-rex’s natural oh! so manly odour which made him more aware of their actual closeness.

Maetee should focus to get sleep and not think how Prince’s arms felt around him. Secure, strong… Maetee knew that if Prince wanted…he would bend to any position for him…

“Shh…” Maetee hushed to his mind to stop imagining weird things. He should sleep since tomorrow he had a lot of work to do. Looksorn had delivered all the needed materials for an exorcising ritual.

Chapter 14: inheritance

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Last night’s story left T-rex with a lot of questions. His new concubine was more mysterious than he had originally thought. During his work hours he borrowed books from Watee’s library. There he found writings about Teeban village surrounded by the protective mountains and warrior tribe just like Maetee had told.

An explorer described the daily life of the village in his writings. Monks performed their prayers and rituals and the sacred virgin danced in the grace of Phra Mae Teeban. But how was she chosen? How had Maetee inherited that position?

In the royal family, inheritance was based on the birth order. The oldest son came first. So Watee was the crown prince, the heir and future king. But how did it work up north? Has Maetee’s mother been a sacred virgin as well?

But even in that pattern there was one problem. Maetee was a male, and old writings told only about girls being chosen, so there must be some exceptions or special case rules applied when Maetee was chosen. Maybe he was the prettiest… T-rex chuckled for his own thought. Little Maetee must have been so cute!

T-rex returned to the books and as Maetee had told in his story last night a sacred virgin work lasted from ten-year-old until she turned thirty. How long Maetee had been a sacred virgin? T-rex had turned 22 this year and Maetee was same age as him. So has Maetee been sacred virgin from twelve years? Ever since he was ten years old like stated in the tradition.

There raised another issue. Was a sacred virgin not allowed to marry before she turned 30? Should Maetee be returned back to his village and T-rex had to wait for eight years that Maetee would set up the three missions and then officially earn his hand? But T-rex couldn’t wait for eight years! It was supposed to be one hundred nights and then he was allowed to marry him. Whose tradition should they respect? Northerners or capital?

Books had no answers he needed. T-rex must ask from the source himself. Tonight he must choose Maetee again. He needed to know what it meant to be a sacred virgin of Teeban shrine and how had Maetee ended up on the market place? Had Maetee left his village willingly or…was he robbed? T-rex didn’t want to think about the terrible option, but to be honest, that was the most common way people were traded. T-rex had legally bought Maetee, so he should stay with him, right? Right…

Meanwhile in the Crown Prince’s office risk factors of the current situation were evaluated.

“Any news from the north?” Watee asked.

“As far as my informants could tell. They are still looking for the slave trader who robbed the shrine.” Maitee said. “But if they can find him they will learn where the sacred virgin was sent to.”

“Hmm…and if they figure out he is in Teekok… It’s only a matter of time they will realise he was brought into the imperial palace.” Watee assumed.

“Yes. Whole Teekok is talking about the male concubine of the prince, so it does not take them a lot of effort to deduce where that rare luxury has come from.” Maitee knew the risk.

“I see… Then there is no other option than to send him back before they reach the capital.” Watee decided.

“I understand your concern, but… It might be difficult since T-rex seems to be keen on his new concubine.” Maitee estimated the other side of the issue.

“That’s why it has to be soon.” Watee said, his expression darkening. “The more time they spend together, the harder it will become to let go…”

Watee gazed at his mother’s picture in the frame. Even if he had been young when she passed, he still missed her from time to time.

“I am sending all the other concubines away so it is a good distraction to send the sacred virgin away with them.” Watee’s tactic was smart.

“Maybe you should discuss this with T-rex.” Maitee suggested, having a hunch of a possible heartbreak.

“No.” Watee shook his head. “He would try to hinder the plan.”

“Watee…what would you do if your father sent me away without you knowing.”

“What?!” Watee hit the table.

“See, only the thought makes you this angry. You cannot imagine the sorrow and betrayal T-rex will feel if you do this to him.”

“But we have to save the capital from the Northern tribe’s attack!” Watee protested.

“We cannot be sure how they will react.” Maitee reasoned.

“Oh! We do. And T-rex will be the first one in their execution list.” Watee’s worry was real. It was possible outcome.

“Then we must hide them until one hundred nights will be full.” Maitee suggested.

“What!? That’s outrageous.” Watee stunned for unexpected proposal.

“The law of one hundred and one nights will save them. Northerners respect traditions and if T-rex and Maetee spent all the one hundred nights together even Phra Mae Teeban wouldn’t say anything against that. She is the goddess of love and protection. Maybe their encounter was blessed by her.” Maitee had done the background research, so he knew what he was talking about.

“I can see the genius in your idea.” Watee had to admit. “But the laws about marriage are a bit tricky…”

“Which one do you think is more powerful, law or love?” Maitee asked out of blue.

“Huh?”

“You have done all of this to protect your brother, so I believe that even under that cold exterior of yours, love wins.” Maitee smiled, patting Watee’s shoulder. He knew Watee loved his little brother, no matter how annoying or troublesome T-rex sometimes could be.

“Umrgh!” Watee clenched his quill too hard, piercing the paper. “Umm… Where do you think we could hide them?”

Maitee smiled. Watee was not an unreasonable dictator with inflexible rules. He listened and was ready to compromise inorder to find second best solutions for all parties involved, not just the obvious common good. One day, he would become a great king.

Chapter Text

“Maetee!” T-rex barged into his concubine’s room, hoping to ask some important questions. But the sight made him totally forget his reason for visiting the east wing.

“Wow! You have decorated the place…” T-rex gazed at all the hundred talismas and protective charms, amulets and weird looking artefacts hanging from walls and ceiling.

“It’s very diy… You seem to miss your home shrine and wanted to give this place a similar holy atmosphere.” T-rex wondered, rubbing his cheek.

“Aow! T-rex… I wasn’t expecting to see you this early.” Maetee’s voice spoke behind the paper partition.

“Hmm…what is happening here? Do you need help?” T-rex curiously asked.

“Actually, there is a pest problem with the praying room.” Maetee stepped in the middle of the room. “It needs to be purified.”

“Whoaa!” T-rex blinked, seeing his concubine in a totally different kind of attire.

Maetee’s whole body was wrapped in talismans and powerful looking amulets were hanging around his neck.

“You look…very sacred… A holy thing.” T-rex couldn’t turn his gaze away. There was something very primitively divine in Maetee’s appearance. That truly was the sacred virgin of Teeban…

“I was about to perform an evil vanishing dance, would you like to watch.” Maetee offered, feeling safer that T-rex was around during the exorcing ritual.

“Oh yes!” T-rex plopped on the pillow, a wide grin on his face. He wouldn’t refuse to see his concubine dancing. “Please, don’t let me bother.”

Maetee took his position. Then he started howling and wailing some holy prayers while waddling and spinning. It almost looked like he was in trance.

Had Maetee taken something? T-rex wondered, gazing at the tray and bowls at the corner where some leaves and herbs soaked in the water.

Maybe not. It didn’t look drinkable. Instead, the room was filled with smoke from hundreds of candles and incense. So maybe herbs were there to refresh and scent the room. It made the bitter odour slightly sweeter.

“Whoosh! Whoosh!” Maetee moved his body like waves trying to push something out of the window.

Then a strong gust of wind blew through the room and all candles turned off.

“Aaiiiieeee!” Maetee screamed and curled on the floor.

“You woke me up, little bride.”

“Aaaah! Go back! Go back!” Maetee screamed as Pim’s ghost appeared.

“Oh! You have company.” She smiled.

“No! Don’t touch him.” Maetee startled and spun around.

“This performance is quite something.” T-rex smiled impressed.

Obviously, he couldn’t see the ghost, but just Maetee screaming and hustling around. Too bad that northerners dressed up from neck to ankles. He would have appreciated a bit more bare skin.

“Oih! Hush! Hush!” Maetee tried to shove Pim further away from his prince.

“Little prince is so cute…” Pim cooed. “Isn’t he?” She poked T-rex’s chubby cheek.

“Hands off! He is mine!” Maetee shouted and plopped on T-rex’s lap, trying to shield him from the ghost.

“Aow!” T-rex smiled and as an instinct placed his hands on Maetee’s waist. “I have never experienced lap dance. Is this part of Northern mating rituals?”

“W-what!? No-no-no!” Maetee panicked.

“Hahahaaaa… You are a wonderful little bride.” Pim laughed. “Amazing! I have not had this much fun in years. My nephew might be a bit strict, but he is not a tyrant.” Pim smiled and started to shine. “Thank you, Maetee. I trust that you and the little prince will return the joy in this place.” She warmly smiled before disappearing into the light.

“Aow! She is gone…” Maetee sighed, amazed it has been so easy.

“Who is gone? Did you want Looksorn to watch us?” T-rex asked, his sneaky hands tucking off the veils.

“Oh my God!” Maetee jumped up, stumbled on his half opened veils and landed on his Prince waiting arms.

“Hihi! Where were you going?” T-rex giggled. “Or is the show over already?”

“L-lunch!” Maetee yelped, trying to get off but Prince’s hold was strong.

“Hmm…you know, my papillion. You have awakened my hunger too…”

“Iiek!” Maetee screamed as T-rex blew air into his ear.

“Hahaha! Just joking.” T-rex laughed and helped his concubine on his feet. “Come, Maetee. Let’s go have lunch!” T-rex clasped his hand and headed to the dining hall.

Maetee swallowed, trying to keep his heart under control. He gazed at their joined hands. Even if T-rex’s hand was so much smaller than his, it’s grip was strong and determinate. Just like a moment ago when those hands had been on his waist…

Shivers went through his body. Maetee could tell T-rex was not joking. He had seen that gaze in Prince’s eyes and it made Maetee feel so hot.

The romantic stories Maetee enjoyed secretly reading at the nights always began cute and fluffy, but when things started to get serious, layers of clothes eventually got fewer…

“Mh! You are so thin that you should eat a lot.” T-rex filled Maetee’s plate with all of his favourite plain foods.

“Thank you…” Maetee looked at his full plate. Would he be able to finish that all?

“Go ahead and enjoy. So you will get some meat around your bones.” T-rex encouraged him to eat as Maetee was just staring.

Was T-rex intentionally trying to feed him good and chubby so that he would have more to eat himself…

“Aaa…” T-rex scooped the omelette, aiming the spoon to Maetee’s mouth.

“Aa!” Maetee opened his mouth as reflect.

“Hihi!” T-rex giggled. “Aww… How can you be this sweet!” He pinched Maetee’s cheek. “I want to have a bite too…”

“Eh!?” Maetee stunned, but luckily T-rex just took the spoon, scooping a spoonful for himself. Hey! Wait a minute. W-wasn’t that…an indirect kiss!

“Eat the rest yourself.” T-rex instructed, resting his chin on his palms staring at his funnily behaving concubine.

Maetee was melting under Prince’s burning gaze, and top of that T-rex was even biting his lips in a very not suitable way while he kept devouring him with his eyes. Maetee wanted to hide under the table and escape from that ever strongening feeling, but at the same time, he wished that the lunch with his prince would never come to an end.

Chapter 16: scepter

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

In the evening Maetee found himself in Prince’s bed once again. Even if Pim’s ghost was sent forward. He was not going to sleep alone in the east wing. His sleeping spot was next to T-rex in his spacious and luxurious bed. It was the safest place for him.

Story of the night continued in a more explanatory way since T-rex had way too many questions.

“That night a fire had broken out in the neighbouring village. Everyone was sent there to help to save what was to be saved. I was left alone in the shire, praying that the fire would calm down and everybody would return safely. Then I heard unknown voices approaching. Strange men came in and took me with them. I tried to scream, but no one heard. I was so scared. It was dark and I was put in a carriage with other girls. They were robbed and taken from other villages around the mountain area. We travelled for days, not knowing what was going to happen to us. Until we reached Teekok and the slave trader sold us to the merchant. Then I met you at the marketplace.” Maetee explained how it had happened.

“That must have been so scary for you.” T-rex rubbed Maetee’s back. Unfortunately, it was just as he had been afraid. Maetee was robbed, forcibly took out of his home village.

“Me and P’Watee must work harder to get rid of that custom. Robbing and selling people should not be allowed.” T-rex didn’t want anyone to go through such inhumane treatment.

“Mh.” Maetee nodded, although he was having a contradic feeling about it. If he would have not been robbed maybe he would have never met his prince.

“I’m so lucky…” Maetee snuggled deeper to the embrace. “…that I ended up with someone kind like you.”

T-rex smiled at his concubine. “I’m glad to hear that, but…you are the sacred virgin of Teeban… Does it mean you need to go back to your tribe?”

“No!” Maetee immediately yelped, clinging onto T-rex. “I like it here…with you.”

“But if they want you back…”

“Uh-uh.” Maetee shook his head. “You bought me, so I’m your concubine now.”

“But what about your tribe? Or your mother? They are surely missing you.” T-rex assumed.

“They will be fine. I sent Mae a letter and told her I got a good job in the capital.”

“Eh! A job?” T-rex blinked, not catching the meaning.

“Mh! Being your concubine is my new occupation.” Maetee smiled, proud of his promotion.

“Aow! I never thought it like that.” T-rex admired the wonderful way Maetee’s mind worked. He was so positive and saw opportunities even in his a bit questionable position. “Hmm… But if being my concubine is your job, should I pay you a salary?”

“No-no-no! That would be exaggeration. You already pamper me so much everyday that I might be spoiled rotten.” Maetee protested.

“Really?” T-rex blinked. He had not even started wooing him yet. Maybe Maetee wasn’t that much of materialistic person, so Prince needed to come up with other ways to show Maetee how much T-rex wanted to Maetee to stay with him.

“I see, but actually. I’m quite curious about something…” T-rex looked at Maetee resting in his arms. At least, Maetee seemed to like to stick close. So maybe Maetee should be rewarded physically with a comforting touch…

“T-rex?” Maetee asked as T-rex was zoning out.

“Oh, right!” T-rex returned back to the moment. “I just wanted to know how you became the sacred virgin of Teeban?”

“Umm…that’s because I’m different…so I was sent to the temple.” Maetee said, turning his gaze away, ashamed that he had not told T-rex everything.

The answer was not satisfying T-rex curiosity. There were unknown variables in this formula and in order to understand the whole truth he should know what had happened.

“I agree… You are extraordinarily beautiful.” T-rex spun Maetee’s hair around his finger, careful not to pull too hard. Maetee was super sensitive in every possible way. With Maetee the gentleness was the key.

“It is not only about how I look.” Maetee explained. Of course there were people who didn’t understand his hobby of crossdressing, but that was not the real reason.

“Mh. I know… You are so funny, good dancer and tell the best stories.” T-rex continued with his list of praises.

“Uh-uh.” Maetee shook his head. “There is something I have not dared to tell you…something that makes people afraid of me.” Maetee was worried that if T-rex knew the whole truth he might send him away.

“Huh? Why?” T-rex stunned. His concubine was the sweetest person he knew. How could anyone be afraid of Maetee. “Oh! You are a bit loud when you scream, but it’s not scary.”

“You are right that my screaming might annoy people, but that’s not it, kind of related though. You know how I chant every night.” Maetee approached the topic. T-rex was always so kind so he deserved to know the truth. What kind of a freak he had brought in.

“Mh, you pray for protection and blessing like a good priestess you are.” T-rex was smiling at him, playing with his hair.

“Yes, and because…” Maetee gestured T-rex lean closer.

“Because?” T-rex asked, offering his ear for Maetee to whisper.

Because I can see dead people.”

“Huh?” T-rex amazed. It clearly wasn’t anything he had expected.

Ghosts…” Maetee whispered, warily looking around the room. “This afternoon I exorcised Pim’s ghost from the east wing.

“Wow!” T-rex’s eyes widened and mouth turned into an amazed O. Until his face melted into a smile. “That’s so cool!” T-rex yelped.

“Eh?! Cool…” Maetee was stupefied. Never had he got a reaction like that. “Y-you don’t think I am crazy or possessed or—”

“Why? My concubine is so special! The prettiest, the most handsome, the funniest, the best storyteller and can even see ghosts. Wow! I’m such a lucky guy!” T-rex grinned from ear to ear. He was honestly super excited.

Maetee was overwhelmed by T-rex’s unexpectedly positive reaction, and as usual, teared up. “D-do you really think that?”

“Of course! And what the best, you like cuddles!” T-rex snatched Maetee in a hug and squeezed tight. That was his reward of being brave and telling him.

“Ah!” Maetee blushed, getting caught in his prince’s arms.

“And…you have nice legs too.” T-rex raised the hem just a little to take a peek.

“T-rex!” Maetee shocked.

“What? Are you shy?” T-rex smirked. “Cannot I look at my favourite concubine?”

“F-favourite?”

“Yeah! I have—had many, but all of them were originally sent to my brother. Everyone wants a chance to be a concubine of the crown prince but brother is so picky. He didn’t want any of them. So I took them in my harem instead, but now they will be sent away.” T-rex shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal. He had Maetee, so he needed nothing else.

“You had a lot of beauties in your harem.” Maetee felt bad that they had not get along.

“Yep! They were nice to look at and soft to hug, but…”

“But?” Maetee repeated, curious to know what that but included.

“You know… They never really attracted me in that way.” T-rex hinted, gazing down between their bodies where something was happening.

“Your Highness!” Maetee flamed red, realising what T-rex was implying.

“So don’t worry. I can assure you, you are the only one of my type.” T-rex winked.

“Huh?” Maetee swallowed.

“When it comes to you it stands like a scepter in a parade!” T-rex boasted.

“Uihg!” Maetee let out embarrassed yelp, feeling something poking him.

“Don’t be scared. I know you are a sacred virgin, so I won’t touch you unless you want me to.” T-rex assured.

“T-touch!” Maetee was getting worried how long he would still stay as a sacred virgin…

“Mh, even if you are my concubine. I swear to you, I will cherish you.” T-rex placed a soft kiss on Maetee’s forehead.

“Uoooh!” Maetee gasped. A forehead kiss!! Wasn’t that the purest form of love?

“Hehe!” T-rex chuckled. Maetee’s animated reactions were amusing. “Don’t worry, my papillion. I’m a gentleman. I won’t force anything.” T-rex promised, pulling Maetee in a hug.

Maetee was not sure if he was happy or disappointed to hear that. Lately he had started to have these new sensations around his prince and if he was totally honest, not all his thoughts were suitable for a pure maiden like him.

Slowly Maetee was starting to get curious about how it feels to be madly in love…

Chapter Text

“Where is he again?” Watee grunted, seeing his brother’s seat empty.

“Probably with his bride-to-be.” Just from the reconnaissance returned royal emissary, Teedet smirked.

The whole imperial palace was talking about the younger prince and his male concubine’s lovey-dovey escapades and all the maids were so shipping it.

“It’s a concubine!” Watee banged the table. He was worried about possible scandals his brother’s carefree behaviour might cause. Thanks to the goddess, T-rex’s chosen one was a male concubine, so at least there would be no surprise baby on the way.

“Not for long.” Royal advisor Teedo pointed out the fact. One hundred nights was getting closer night by night.

“Hoi!” Watee pulled his hair. “Please, not yet…” He was not ready to have this conversation.

“Calm down, Watee.” Royal chef and crown Prince’s right hand man, Maitee placed a steaming teacup in front of him.

“Thank you—”

“But Teedet and Teedo are right. I think you should start the law reformation in advance.” Maitee added.

“No! The situation in the Vimarnsukmun Palace is still unstable. I don’t have time to deal with my brother’s silly business—”

Speak of the devil. The double doors were pushed open and the young prince greeted them with a wide smile. “Good morning, everyone!”

“Hoi! Where have you been? It’s already one in the afternoon.” Watee frowned.

“Oops!” T-rex amazed. “Haha! How does the time fly.” Morning cuddles had gotten a bit longer than intended.

“Oh! Welcome back, Teedet.” T-rex waved and shortly disappeared from the doorway.

“Come!” T-rex excitedly dragged his concubine into the meeting hall.

“B-but…” Maetee was terrified to meet all the important people of their country and the fearsome Prince Watee! He looked as grumpy as rumoured, but the man standing beside him smiled at Maetee.

“Oh-hoo!” Teedet gasped. Not sure what he had expected, but T-rex’s concubine was gorgeous.

“My Maetee can see ghosts!” T-rex announced full of pride.

“Aow! Does he have the same ability as my cousin?” Teedo asked, surprised.

“Huh?” T-rex looked at the royal advisor stunned.

“Don’t you remember. My cousin, Peach. He can see ghosts as well.” Teedo reminded. “We were talking about this in the last meeting.”

“Eh? Really!” T-rex’s mind had evidently been reserved by other things, just like his hands that were tightly wrapped around his concubine’s waist.

“Peach is also an old friend of mine.” Maitee said. “We were in the same culinary camp during our royal chef training. Now he lives in the neighbouring kingdom and works as a chef of Prince Saharat Vimarnsukmun.”

“Ooh! The chef of P’Home.” T-rex recalled tasting some of his dishes in some fancy ball of Gramps.

“King Samai was Teedet’s grandma’s brother so they are related.” Teedo explained to a confused looking Maetee who Teedet stared with great interest.

“Holy shit! How can man be this pretty—”

“Urrr…” T-rex narrowed his eyes and growled at Teedet. “I advise you to step further if you don’t want to get off with your head.”

“Oh! Sorry, Prince.” Teedet quickly bowed, not wanting to risk it since if he had something learned about these brothers they both could be drastically extreme. “I was just looking—”

“Don’t look.” T-rex ordered, squeezing Maetee tighter against his chest. “Maetee is mine!”

“Okay! Let’s have tea.” Maitee interrupted a possible argument and handed everyone a cup of calming honey chamomile tea. Like magic they returned to talk with each other in a friendly manner. Maitee was excellent at relaxing a tense atmosphere.

Maetee was amazed. The circles of aristocrats were small. Everyone knew someone or was related to each other. He could see a certain pattern. Maitee was allowed to be close to Prince Watee as well as Peach to Prince Home because of their cooking skills.

Maetee gazed at his prince discussing with his noble friends. Maybe if he learned how to cook then he could be useful for him too…

“Hello, Maetee. Nice to finally meet you. I’m Maitee, personal chef of Prince Watee.” Maitee joined him by the wall.

“Oh! I…” Startled Maetee spilled his tea. “Sorry!” He panicked, starting to hustle.

Maitee smiled, offering him a handkerchief. “It’s alright. Let me help.”

“I’m so sorry…” Maetee was ready to tear up. It was a stressful situation and he was already messing it up. Prince would be so ashamed of him.

“I heard you are an excellent storyteller and brilliant dancer.”

“Huh?”

“I mean, you don’t have to try to change anything. Do as you have done this far. Entertain the prince with your stories.” Maetee encouraged. “Keep him company so that he does not feel lonely and it will be fine.”

“Krub.” Maetee nodded, relieved that he had not ended up scolded. Maitee was such a nice person.

Watee had been silently listening, calculating all the information he had gained, a new plan was taking form in his mind. Maitee saw Watee immersed in his thoughts, guessing what the crown prince was plotting.

He went to pour Watee more tea. “If Maetee can see ghosts…maybe he could help Peach and Home with the exorcising.” The clever chef said out loud and Watee looked at him like he had just read his thoughts.

If they sent his brother and his male concubine to the neighbouring kingdom the warriors of Teeban couldn’t find them from Teekok. It was a perfect way to keep them hidden until one hundred nights would become full.

“Ahem!” Watee cleared his throat, cathering everyone’s attention. “Teedo, Teedet. Help them with the preparations. T-rex and his concubine are to be sent to Vimarnsukmun Palace.” Watee decided.

“Woo-hoo!” T-rex cheered, running to his concubine. “Did you hear that Maetee? We are going on a trip.”

“Uugh…” Maetee swallowed, clinging on to his prince. “I don’t want to go to a castle full of ghosts.” He wailed, obviously he had heard the rumours about the chaos going on in the neighbouring kingdom after the sudden death of King Samai.

“Aww… But how will you sleep alone if I travel there?” T-rex asked.

“Huh? Are you going to leave me?” Maetee startled. He surely wouldn’t survive without T-rex.

“No. I will take you with me, silly. Your ability is useful. Maybe we can help P’Peach and P’Home to exorcise the ghosts and save their kingdom from destruction.”

“Uuh… It sounds so scary…” Maetee whined.

“Not at all!” T-rex tried to boost up his spirit.

“That’s about right, but…” Teedo started.

“That family is fucking insane!” Teedet stated. Well, they were his relatives…

“Ah! Teedet.” Maitee tried to silence him before he would say anything unnecessary.

“Auntie Somphon is a crazy ass occultist who can control ghosts.” Teedet saw it as worth mentioning.

“Aaiiieeee!” Maetee screamed out of pure thought. How was he supposed to fight against a ghost army?

“Hoi! Make him stop!” Watee irked, holding his ears.

“Aww… Maetee, did bad Teedet scare you?” T-rex hugged his concubine and squeezed the bottom.

“T-T-rex!” Maetee gasped as the hand kept carressing the roundness below his back.

“Mh! You have nothing to worry about.” T-rex smiled reassuringly. “I will protect you.”

The butt was nicely elastic and bouncy. It was fun to pat, and hopefully it created enough distraction from the scary things.

“A-aa…” Maetee swallowed. Maybe ghosts were not the only thing he should be wary of... Lately, Prince’s advances were getting more daring.

Chapter 18: pillar

Notes:

Chapter Text

“Hoi! You are his concubine. His supporting pillar that keeps him standing strong when the weight of the world is falling on his shoulders.” Looksorn stated.

“Umh…” Maetee was hesitating in the middle of open travel trunks.

“You must go with him. Remember one hundred and one nights. You are so close. You cannot skip a night now. You must endure a bit and then you have gained your position.” Looksorn encouraged.

“But there will be ghosts and evil witch and—”

“And your prince.” Looksorn continued Maetee’s list.

“And my prince—hey!” Was she trying to trick him?

“Are you going to send him in danger all alone? What if something happens to him and he never returns?” Looksorn brought up another perspective.

Shivers went through Maetee's body. He thought about Phra Mae Teeban and how she made a mistake losing the man who loved her. Maetee couldn’t make the same mistake.

“I must protect him! I’m the scared virgin of Teeban. Protector of love.” Maetee declared.

“Right, that’s the spirit.” Looksorn smiled, packing Maetee’s necessities. “But be careful. You should not lose your powers too soon.” She winked.

“Huh?”

“Well… if seeing ghosts is the power of a sacred virgin, you better stay innocent until the end of the mission.”

“Looksorn!” Maetee blushed. “T-rex wouldn’t risk it.”

“Are you sure? The flesh is weak on a trip and if you keep seducing him anymore than—”

“What are you saying? I am not s-seducing him!” Maetee protested.

“Really? Why are your gowns getting shorter and layers of veil lesser?” Looksorn raised an eyebrow in a question.

“I-I’m feeling hot!” Maetee defended.

“Or do you just want to show more bare skin to certain someone?” Looksorn waggled her eyebrows.

“No!” Maetee denied the lousy accusations.

“Fine.” Looksorn didn’t dare to tease Maetee more than that. “Be aware, Prince is not stone. When tempted he can get hungry…and eventually, he will eat…leaving no crumbs.” Looksorn warned.

Maetee swallowed. T-rex has promised to cherish him, but he dared to test his determination. Maetee wanted to see how long the prince could resist him, but maybe it was not the right time to play a risky game like that. Even so, couldn’t a maiden have a romantic dream? Was it too much to ask if he just wanted one teeny-tiny kiss?

Chapter 19: regent

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Maetee has never been on a ship before and immediately felt seasick.

“There-there.” T-rex rubbed his back while Maetee was clutching the rail of the deck, staring at the roaming ocean which turned his stomach upside down.

“Tsk!” Sailors passed them. “Is the little wife sick?” One man smirked.

“It’s a bad omen if you bring a woman on board. Let’s hope she won’t sink the whole ship.” Other one snorted.

T-rex gave them a murderous glance. These two had not realised that Maetee was actually a man but that was not the point. They were disrespecting his concubine!

T-rex turned to them, raising his chin. “I am Prince. I am King. I am God! How dare you talk like that about your Queen.” T-rex declared even if he was just a regent in case his brother would be too ill or absent.

“Buwhahaha!” The men laughed. “Maybe on land, but here on the sea there are different rules…” The sailor rubbed his unshaved chin, gazing at the thin frame wrapped in luxurious silk, maybe he could borrow it to warm his bed tonight.

The disgusting gaze was not let unnoticed. “Don’t look!” T-rex stepped between the men and Maetee. “Turn your dirty eyes away or—”

“Don’t be such a stingy mate…” The man tucked T-rex’s collar. “We can share.” He smirked, ready to throw the small prince aside to have his way with his pretty companion.

“Let go!” T-rex shouted, not afraid to fight back against an opponent twice his size. “If you touch even a single hair—”

Willy was a good man.” Maetee whispered, gazing up to the observation deck of the mast.

“Huh?” The sailors turned pale and let go of T-rex.

He is happy to fly together with the seagulls…” Maetee gave them a sad smile.

“W-what the hell! Is she a witch?” The men panicked, hearing Maetee talking about their deceased mate like he had known him.

“Aow! Did I forget to mention? My concubine is a priestess from the northern tribe of Teeban. And yes. He can see ghosts.” T-rex boasted.

Frightened sailors hurried away. They would surely not dare to bother them again. Death was always present at the sea. Someone like Maetee was there between these worlds of gods, human and dead, scaring hell out of them.

“I’m sorry…” T-rex dropped on his knees before his concubine. “I was unable to protect you.” Never in his life he had felt so powerless.

“Uh-uh.” Maetee shook his head. “You stayed next to me. Stood up against two monstrous men three heads taller than you.” He gazed at the sea. “There are people who would have run away, turned a blind eye, and pretend they had not seen…”

“Maetee…” T-rex lifted up his head, searching for his gaze.

Maetee sat down beside him. “I used to be a coward like that…but by your side…I feel a bit braver…” He said with a trembling voice. “But I was scared…that they would hurt you…so, so scared…”

T-rex pulled a shaking Maetee in a hug. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t say sorry…” Maetee sobbed, clinging tighter on his prince. “Thank you for not letting them take me.”

“Never!” T-rex held Maetee’s shoulder, making their eyes meet. “I would never allow anyone to take you away from me.”

“Mh.” Maetee smiled and gave him a tearful nod. Then he leaned his head on Prince’s shoulder, letting T-rex pet his hair.

How long they stayed like that, it was hard to tell. It was a cloudy day so the sun set was left unseen, but as it dropped under the horizon it became dark. Only lit up torches were lighting up the pitch black night.

“Mh. It’s getting late. You should get some rest.” T-rex said, petting Maetee’s thigh to sign him to get up.

Maetee nodded, letting T-rex to guide him into their cabin. The room was small and cramped. A cargo ship was not meant to transport passengers, but T-rex and Maetee were travelling to the neighbouring Kingdom secretly according to Watee’s plan to hide them there for a time being.

T-rex tucked Maetee into the bed and sat on a chair beside it.

“Aren’t we sleeping together?” Maetee asked when T-rex didn’t come to bed with him.

“I want to make you feel better first.” T-rex said, offering Maetee a ginger shot.

“Eww… It’s too spicy.” Maetee refused.

“It’s not spicy, just bitter. It will help with nausea.” T-rex lifted the bottle on Maetee’s lips, helping him to take a little sip.

“Uugh…” Maetee grimaced.

“Mh, take water after.” T-rex held out another bottle for him.

Maetee rinsed his mouth and clutched his charm hanging around his neck, mumbling prayers for Phra Mae Teeban to take away his sea sickness.

Gently T-rex caressed his head. “I understand that you seek help from your goddess. But I am here with you, so you can rely on me.” T-rex placed a soft kiss on Maetee’s head.

“Oiiih…” Maetee’s cheeks were burning. How could his prince be any sweeter than that? Immediately he was feeling so much better.

“Close your eyes.” T-rex told.

“Eh! Are you going somewhere?” Maetee felt unusual distance between them. He had never slept this far from the prince before. T-rex’s arms belonged around him.

“Where would I go from you, my papilion?” T-rex smiled, took Maetee’s hand in his own and intertwined their fingers, kissing the knuckles.

“Oh!” Matee gasped, burrowing deeper in the sheets. “We will both fit here…” He offered, even if the bed was barely big enough for himself.

“Uh-uh.” T-rex shook his head. “I don’t trust myself...”

“Huh?”

“If I sleep next to you in that tiny bed… I cannot promise I won’t do anything.”

“Eh!?” Maetee flamed red.

“See…” T-rex smiled. “Only this much makes you so adorably flustered.” He poked Maetee’s pink cheek with a finger of his free hand.

“Goodnight, Maetee.” T-rex placed a kiss on the warm cheek.

“G-goodnight!” Maetee pulled the blanket over his head. A kiss on the cheek! That was so close already. So the next one…would it hit the goal?

Chapter 20: kingdom

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Travel to the neighbouring kingdom took several days. On the next morning the sea had calmed down and the ship was not waving as much as yesterday. Maetee felt so much better.

T-rex took him to the deck to breathe fresh morning air and see the sunrise.

“Whaa!” Maetee gasped. “T-rex, Look! There it is.” Maetee joyed. He had lived in the mountain area far away from the sea, so he had never seen this sight before.

“Mh, seeing the sun rising for the sea is pretty amazing.” T-rex said, placing his hand over Maetee’s on the rail. “But even better it’s with you.”

“Uiiih!” Maetee giggled. “That’s so romantic…”

Then he noticed his outfit. Instead of his pretty gowns and veils. He was dressed as a sailor boy inorder not to allure any more horny men. Expect maybe one…

“Huh? What’s wrong?” T-rex saw Maetee’s confused face.

“I’m not pretty…” Maetee frowned.

“Eh?! What are you saying?” T-rex stunned and took Maetee’s hand and spun him around like a princess on the ballroom floor. “Hmm… to me you look pretty as usual, and we even match!” T-rex boasted, showing off his similar sailor costume.

“Umh,” Maetee slightly nodded. Wearing matching couple clothes was kinda cute.

“Hey! Look at me.” T-rex cupped Maetee’s face between his hands, making him face him.

“No matter what you wear, it doesn’t change who you are.” T-rex emphasised by staring him straight into the eyes. “I admit that at first we will get attracted by appealing appearance, but at the end of the day it’s just surface. The real beauty is much more deeper. It’s the beauty of one’s heart. And you Maetee, has the most purest heart I have ever seen.”

“No! T-rex. You are the kindest, even for a weirdo like me.” Maetee corrected.

“Uh-uh.” T-rex shook his head. I’m kind to you because I choose to be…because I like you, Maetee.”

“Eh?” Maetee’s heart skipped a beat. Of course he knew Prince liked him, but hearing it made it sound more real.

“But it’s hard to be kind to you…when I’m so tempted to be bad…” T-rex gazed at Maetee’s lips.

“Oh!” Maetee gasped, feeling how his heart sped up its rhythm. “Umh…i-if you want to…you can…be a little bad…”

“I can?” T-rex looked at Maetee into eyes, making sure he knew what he was giving a consent for.

“Mh!” Maetee nodded and pinched his eyes close. “I-I am ready.” He yelped and puckered out his lips.

“Pfft! Hahahaaa…” T-rex burst out laughing, seeing the kissy face of the century. “Your face looks so funny!”

“Eh?” Maetee peeked at why T-rex was laughing.

“Hehe! You are so adorable, my papilion.” T-rex was gasping for air while bending half as laughter shook his body.

“Hoi! I’m serious here.” Maetee whined, stomping his leg. Were they never going to kiss?

“Aww… sorry-sorry. Did I ruin the mood?”

“Hmph!” Matee pouted, turning to face the sea. The ridiculous comedic moment was not romantic at all.

“Heyy…” T-rex hugged him from behind. “Don’t sulk, my papillion.” He pecked Maetee’s cheek.

“Oiih!” Maetee screamed. “You are just teasing me.”

“I’m not.” T-rex said, pecking his cheek again.

“Hoi! What is this?” Maetee spun around.

“Your cheeks are soft.” T-rex smirked, making another butterfly kiss attack around the blushing cheeks.

“Aaah!” Maetee was screaming. “T-rex! My heart! My heart!” That was too many kisses for Maetee out of sudden.

“Hihihi!” T-rex stopped. “You are so cute, Maetee. If we were married already this could be our honeymoon trip.”

“W-what!?” Maetee turned red on the face. “H-honeymoon…”

“Since you said it is okay…” T-rex leaned closer to whisper into his ear. “I will sleep with you tonight.

Maetee gulped down an arising panic. What an earth he had given permission to? Was he going to get his long awaited kiss, or something else…

On the ship they were clung together 24/7. Maetee had no complains about that. Finally he had gained all his Prince’s attention just for himself, but as he had told T-rex he was allowed to be 'little bad' Prince’s advances were getting even more bold.

Of course, it also could be because T-rex was bored. There was not much to do on the ship than play with his concubine. Therefore, every night T-rex wanted to get in the bed a little bit earlier than before, but the bedtime story was interrupted with wandering hands…

Many concubines fight not to be head-offed, but Maetee fight not to be dicked down! Prince had made it very clear that he was interested in his concubine in that carnal way, but they were on a mission. It was not time to have a fun little rumpy pumpy.

Regardless, Maetee had no regrets about convincing T-rex that they would fit on the small bed. Since they really fit there, if they hugged as tight as they did. But… Things were getting out of hand or maybe it was better to say that everything was within reach of a hand… Just like T-rex’s hand that caressed Maetee’s back, from time to time it slipping lower to squeeze Maetee’s bottom.

“Uih!” Maetee yelped every time when the sneaky hands tenderly explored the bouncy roundness, and his neck received a sniff kiss as an apology.

T-rex seemed to like his butt and legs… Oh boy! How the prince loved his long slender legs. The hand disappeared under the hem of sleeping rope way too often. Maetee was hiccupping as shivers went through his system. It was so shameless of him wanting T-rex’s hands all over him. Touch him everywhere. All the places no one had ever touched him…

“When we go back…” T-rex said, his hot breath tickling Maetee’s sensitive neck.

“T-rex!” Maetee gasped, having nowhere to hide. T-rex must already know how the closeness made him feel. Oh no! Was he really this slutty? Ready to throw away his title of sacred virgin and become Prince’s lascivious lover?

“Yes, my papillion. Don’t fly away just yet. I promise… I will make your mine.”

“Uuh…” Maetee needed T-rex to squeeze him tighter so that his furiously beating heart wouldn’t fly out of his rib cage. So loudly it was thumping for his prince.

Chapter 21: heir

Notes:

⚠️ Things are starting to heat up… 🫣

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Saying that the palace of the Vimarnsukmun was lavish was a drastic understatement. It was ridiculously flamboyant! The rooms reserved for Prince T-rex and his concubine were flooding with luxuries. Almost like they were staying in a five star hotel.

Maetee was excitingly going through the selection on the vanity table, so many skin and hair care products, essential oils and fragrances. Maybe he could try something exotic for bed tonight.

Maetee giggled, imagining how they would cuddle in that extravagant bed…

“Oih!” Maetee slapped his cheeks as his originally innocent ideas were turning more steamy thanks to the memories of last night at the ship.

Now they had five times more space to roll in the ocean of silky sheets and fluffy pillows, so they didn’t have to hug so tight if they didn’t want to. Although, Maetee might want to…

Maetee couldn’t deny it that he was becoming a bit naughty concubine. He liked the way his Prince embraced him so that Maetee could feel it poking him. It was proof of his superiorty compared to other concubines. Only he got T-rex excited.

“Maetee!” T-rex called from the door as they had settled in with their luggages. “Let’s go meet P’Home and P’Peach.”

“Ah! Coming.” Maetee hurried with him downstairs to meet with the heir of Royal Family of Vimarnsukmun.

Prince Saharat was quite freespirit and he seemed to get along with T-rex marvellously, as well as miss Pangpang, royal chef’s younger sister who joked and laughed around T-rex like he was her own family member.

Maetee felt a sting of jealousy piercing in his heart. His prince looked good next to a beautiful and cheerful lady. What if she was on Prince’s liking too…

“Ahem! Everyone. Can I have your attention, please.” Kan, Prince Home’s royal advisor, introduced the mission and the remaining haunted location they needed to purify.

After Kan’s presentation they started planning how to proceed with the exorcism. Maetee and Peach were bonding fast, talking about how scary ghosts were and different methods they used to get rid of those.

T-rex was sulking. He didn’t like Maetee get so close to other men. He was his concubine!

“Hmph!” T-rex cramped in the middle of their conversation, hugging Maetee from behind.

“Aow!” Peach pushed up his glasses, he could read the signs. Little prince was jealous, clinging on his concubine like a second skin.

“Wassup! Bro!” Home popped up. “My maids have heated up the bath if you wanna take a dip?” He offered.

“Come, Maetee. It’s our turn.” T-rex stood up.

“Eh?! O-our turn?” Maetee stunned. Did that mean what he thought it mean?

“It is a big pool! We could all fit together.” Home suggested, gaining a murderous glare from T-rex.

“No one peeks! Or you will be head-offed.” T-rex threatened.

“Yikes! Someone is jelly!” Home chuckled. “Haha! No need to be that possessive. I wasn’t planning any striptease pool party…”

“Shh…” Peach elbowed Home’s side. T-rex didn’t look like in a mood for stupid joke.

“Fine-fine!” Home raised his hands, surrendering. “You can take a bath first. Me and Peach will eat in the meantime.” Home promised.

“Huh? But weren’t we supposed to have dinner together?” Peach stunned.

“Appetiser!” Home said, winking at his chef while Pangpang was giggling at the back.

“Go.” Kan hurried the guest to the bathroom, but actually it was a whole spa!

T-rex was stripping fast and poor Maetee had no idea where to look. Too much bare skin and firm muscles of his tiny but mighty prince were exposed in front of his innocent eyes.

“Do you need help with that?” T-rex asked, knowing Maetee was used to having Looksorn helping him with undressing and dressing.

“No!” Maetee clung on his veils.

“Are you scared of me?” T-rex asked, surprised by Maetee’s jumpy reaction.

“No…it’s just that…I’m not used to…”

“Eh? You mean you have not seen a naked man before?” T-rex guessed.

“Mh.” Maetee nodded. “I’m the sacred virgin of Teeban. I’m not allowed to see or be seen in that way.”

“Ah! Sorry, I didn’t realise. Am I making you uncomfortable?” T-rex took a step further.

“Uh-uh.” Maetee shook his head. “I’m just shy.”

“Okay, do you want to take a bath alone?” T-rex suggested.

Maetee furiously shook his head. “Not in a place filled with ghosts!”

“Um, if you go in first. I promise I won’t peek. I will join you when you are under water. How does that sound?” T-rex offered a compromise.

“Mh, but actually… You can peek…just not let me know.” Maetee’s cheeks turned pink as his fingers worked on the knot.

“Aow!” T-rex gasped as Maetee loosened the veil and spun around. The gown fell over the shoulders until it dropped to the floor. The dreamy butt! Those long legs! All white and pale, served for him like on a plate…

“Whoa!” T-rex wiped his mouth and quickly turned around. “Sorry! Maybe I should not look at you after all.” Maetee was way too alluring.

“I see…” Maetee sobbed. “You don’t find me beautiful without pretty clothes—”

“No!” T-rex corrected before there could be any misunderstanding. “You are too beautiful to look at. As you said you are a servant of the goddess, so maybe she doesn’t want me to look.”

“Phra Mae Teeban is kind, just like you, and she knows that… I… that I…Achoo!”

“Hey! Are you getting cold? Go quickly warm yourself in the bath.” T-rex worried.

“You have to come too.” Maetee said. He didn’t like the idea of being alone in this palace.

“I will…just go in first.” T-rex promised.

Maetee dipped into the bath. Water was white and misty. The odour was sugary, maybe milk and honey. “T-rex!” Maetee called and the prince stepped in.

“Aaiiieeee!” Maetee screamed, covering his face. His innocent eyes had seen too much.

“Oh! Sorry, I thought you were turned around.” T-rex really had nothing to hide, but poor Maetee was so shy.

“Uiiih… I saw crown jewels…” Maetee was too embarrassed to look at him.

“Hey,” T-rex pulled out Maetee’s hands off. “You can look now. I’m in the water.”

“Aaah… No-no-no!” Maetee screamed, trying not to look at the toned chest. “You are too manly! My maiden heart cannot take this.”

“Calm down, see.” T-rex dipped deeper down to his chin so that only his head was over the water.

“Uuuh…now you look too cute.” Maetee whined.

“Pfft! What’s with you?” T-rex snorted and took water on his palms, washing his face, letting his hand brush through his hair, exposing his forehead.

“Kyaaa!” Maetee was fanboying hard. The prince he had idolised only by the official portrait pictures was there taking a bath with him while trying to kill him with his handsomeness.

“Hehe!” T-rex chuckled. “Why are you screaming, Maetee? It’s just me.”

“It’s exactly because it’s you! Are you trying to explode my heart!” Maetee scolded.

“Hey… I just…” T-rex looked at heavily blushing Maetee. His hair on a bun above his head, exposing that juicy neck, screaming for to be devoured by him and those sharp collarbones, exposed shoulders, chest that disappeared under water just above the part he would like to see…

“Aah… Never mind.” T-rex backed up. “Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all.”

“Huh?” Maetee startled. Was he being annoying? “Don’t you like to take a bath with me?”

“No, it’s not that. I like it…a bit too much.” T-rex took a deep breath, trying to relax, but his eyes kept lingering back to Maetee. Why was it so hard to resist?

“Huh?” Maetee blinked, not catching the point.

“Well, it’s torturously exciting…” T-rex gazed down. Thank goodness water was misty so Maetee couldn’t see or he might have freaked out.

“Is there something?” Maetee stared at the water, trying to see what was lurking under the surface.

“Umh… I don’t want to scare you Maetee, but you were right. You are too divine to look at.” T-rex confessed his defeat. His beautiful concubine was way too arousing.

“Eh! So you think I’m pretty even like this.” Maetee smiled, batting his eyelashes. “Without any makeup and—”

“Yeah… so pretty.”

“Hihihi…” Maetee giggled. It made him so happy.

“Yep, you should be more often bare—barefaced!”

“Oh! You think?” Maetee was all giddy.

“Mh, your natural beauty shows more and even your manly features.” T-rex praised, biting his lips. He should end up in horny jail for this… Why couldn’t he avert his eyes?

“Uiiih! What a sweet talker are you.” Maetee was flattered. “Let me wash your hair for you.” He offered.

“Ah! Um… That’s fine.” T-rex alerted. He didn’t want to scare Maetee, but it was too late, he leaned too close and…

“Huh? What’s that?” Maetee stunned, his hand touching something weird under the water.

“Er…that’s—Ah!” T-rex gasped as Maetee palmed it.

“Oh my!” Maetee startled, realising what he had touched. “I’m sorry. I-I didn’t mean to…” Holy charm! What was he doing? “Um, does it hurt?” Maetee didn’t know what to do.

“You are not grossed out…” T-rex warily looked at Maetee. “…that I get like this because of you?”

“Eh? Because of me…” Maetee’s head started to spin. “Oh my Goddess! Am I that flirtatious!?” Maetee hold his cheeks, scandalised. What a seducer he was!

“Pfft! Hahaha!” T-rex burst out laughing. Maetee’s overdramatic reactions were the best. “Thank god. I thought you would be scared.”

“I’m scared.” Maetee admitted.

“Huh?”

“Scared that I won’t be able to satisfy you. I’m not real woman, just impostor—”

“No! What are you talking about? Whenever I have said I want a woman?”

“P’Peach little sister… Miss Pangpang…she is very pretty and funny and—”

“Huh? Are you worried I might take another concubine?”

“Miss Pangpang seemed like a good match for you…”

“Hey! Are you getting dummy, my papillion? Where did you get this idea?”

“Um, all your other concubines were women, so I just assumed that you might prefer…”

“Don’t assume. Ask. None of them were chosen by me. Only you are.” T-rex took Maetee’s hand on his own. “And I chose you knowing you are a man, but not because of that, but because the gaze in your eyes screamed to take you away from there. And make you mine…

“T-T-rex…” Maetee stuttered as T-rex squeezed his hand and brought it on his chest.

“Can you feel my heart?”

“It’s thumping so loud.” Maetee felt the beat under his palm.

“And you know why?”

Shyly Maetee shook his head.

Because of you…” T-rex leaned to whisper. “And because of you…” T-rex guided Maetee’s hand lower, stopping just above the target. “…this happens too…” T-rex released Maetee’s hand, letting him choose himself how it was going to go.

“Umm…” Maetee’s rational mind shut down as the subconscious mind started to shout its demands louder and louder. Prince was his! And he was thristy for that dick! Now was his chance to show T-rex how good concubine he really was.

“I may be consecrated to the goddess, but once she was a mere human too…” Maetee’s hand continued its sinful journey, wrapping around T-rex, giving it a tempting tuck.

T-rex moaned, his head falling backwards.

Maetee stared how T-rex’s expression changed. He was holding the handle of power. “I’m curious to learn earthly ways of love…” Maetee searched for an answer in T-rex’s face as he kept moving his hand. Prince’s chest was raising as his breathing laboured and eyes fell shut.

“Ah! Maetee…we should not dirty the bath.” T-rex warned. He wouldn’t last long.

“It’s not dirty.” Maetee said, amazed by the power he held in his hands. Maybe he had turned into a goddess of love himself? He was able to make his prince like that. Lost in pleasure. “Anything we do is not dirty…”

Maetee’s eyes were fixed into Prince’s openly gaping lips, desperately gasping for air. Maetee wanted to feel those lips on his. Taste the sweetness of Prince’s desire. His love that was concealed into that body was supposed to blend together with him, grow and spread, reaching the deepest part of him. He wanted to feel it wrap around his soul, pull him closer until there would be no border between them. They would be just one being. Pure energy of love…

T-rex groaned and Maetee felt the spams. He didn’t dare to loosen his grip, but as T-rex opened his eyes again. Maetee got caught staring at the lips and like T-rex could have read his mind his hand held Maetee’s nape, pulling him down to press their lips together.

It was a quick smash. T-rex pulled back, seemingly shocked by what he was doing. “Sorry, I just—Umh!”

Maetee briefly pecked his lips again. “I think I might be in love with you.”

“Aow!” T-rex’s eyes wideded for a moment as he processed the information. His head was still cloudy from the bliss. Then T-rex’s face lit up and smile spread from ear to ear. “Good. Since I might be in love with you too.” He cupped Maetee’s cheeks, having another kiss. Knowing they both needed it.

Maetee smiled through the tender kiss. Prince’s lips were so soft! And finally touching Maetee like he had dreamed. He was not bothered about their nakedness anymore. Instead, Maetee kissed T-rex back with the same fervour that was burning deep inside of him, just waiting to get freed.

His mind was screaming for more kisses. More and more. Again and again. Always they could keep up with this lovely excange. Kissing was good. Kissing was addictive. Kissing was their entire purpose—

*Gong-Gong*

“Aaiiieeee!” Maetee screamed, hugging T-rex against his chest in the process.

“Excuse me, guests.” Suradech, one of Prince Home’s trusted servants, spoke through the door. “Dinner is ready.”

Chapter Text

The dinner was awkward since everyone around the table seemed to be aware of what had happened in the bath. And it was only getting more awkward as T-rex and Maetee went to their bedroom.

They laid in the enormous bed far from each other, staring at the royal canopy of the glorious bed. Neither dared to talk but silence was louder than ever before. The room was filled with nervous breathing and uncontrollably beating hearts.

“Um, aren’t you going to tell me a bedtime story?” T-rex asked after he couldn’t handle the tension any longer.

“M-my mind is empty.” Matee answered.

It was a lie. His mind was not empty at all. Instead it was filled with wild memories of the bath. They had kissed! Like really kissed kissed and not just that. Maetee had touched Prince’s…

“Uuuuh…” Matee screamed, unable to conceal his overwhelming feelings. What has he done? The sensation lingered in his hand and the image had burned on his retina. He couldn’t be without thinking about it…T-rex and his naked, manly body with hard pulsing muscles…

“Maetee?”

“Iiek!” Maetee screamed. T-rex was suddenly hovering above him.

“Hey, I want to talk with you about…”

“No! Don’t say it!” Maetee squirmed around, swinging his arms.

“Ouch!” T-rex groaned as Maetee accidentally hit him.

“Oih! I’m sorry. Are you alright?” Maetee examined T-rex’s head for any injuries. “Uih!”

T-rex wrapped him in his arms and captured in a hug.

“W-what are you doing?” Maetee shocked. Were they going to continue where they had left in the bath…

“Hugging you.” T-rex cheekily grinned. “Cannot I hug you anymore?”

“Um, you can but…” Maetee was shying. Since when he had been thinking of his Prince that way?

“It felt really good.” T-rex bluntly stated.

“Aargh! Don’t talk about it.” Maetee was screaming again and covered his face with his hands.

“Why? Are you embarrassed?”

“Yes! I’m so ashamed.” Maetee had no idea what kind of primal urge had taken control of his body at that moment.

“Hey, you can be embarrassed, but don’t be ashamed. You did nothing wrong, but actually very well.” T-rex smirked.

“T-rex!” Maetee yelped, face as red as the boiled lobsters at the dinner table.

“I’m embarrassed too.” T-rex nuzzled his face into the crook of Maetee’s neck. Has his concubine always smelled this nice? “It was the first time I have kissed anyone, or being touch—”

“No! I told you not to say it aloud.” Embarrassed Maetee couldn’t handle it.

“Maetee.” Suddenly T-rex sounded serious.

“Huh?” Maetee blinked.

“I want to confirm something.” T-rex held his shoulders.

“Confirm?”

“Umm…after that you said you might be in lo—”

“Oh no! Please you are killing me…” Maetee whined. His heart couldn’t take more than this.

“But I want to know, did you really mean it? Do you think that you love me?”

“Uuugh… T-rex! It’s hot….” Maetee tried to roll off, but Prince’s hold was strong. He didn’t let him escape.

“Tell me first. Were you serious? Or just because we were in that situation?”

“Hmph! Do you think I would say something like that half-heartedly.” Maetee pouted and turned on his back. Prince was his Roman empire. His everything. Of course it has to be love.

“Ah! Sorry. I didn’t mean…” T-rex had not meant to upset Maetee, but his concubine was so sensitive.

“I even touched your scepter and you think that I would—”

“Hey! What did you call my—”

“Hoi! Don’t you dare to say it out loud!” Maetee pointed at him with a finger.

“Aww… You are the sweetest, my papillion!” T-rex climbed on top of him, pinning Maetee on the mattress.

“W-what are you doing?” Maetee panicked. Suddenly Prince was just there where he should be—No! They must wait until one hundred and one nights was full before going there.

“Can I kiss you?” T-rex asked, staring at the lips.

“K-kiss…” Maetee’s cheeks turned pink which lured T-rex to poke it.

“Hmm… I really want to kiss youuuu…” T-rex cooed, nuzzling around Maetee’s hair, face and neck. His concubine was the source of that alluring scent.

“Hoi! What is wrong with you?” Maetee tried to keep the situation under his control. “Why do you suddenly want to do so many…um, intimate things?”

“You got me hooked.” T-rex cheekily grinned and sniffed the neck, inhaling that sweet arousing scent. He sniff kissed the spot.

“H-hoi!!” Maetee shivered.

“Only one taste of your sweet lips made me addicted. I think I can never taste anything else than you.” T-rex winked and leaned in.

“Aaaa! T-reeeex…” Maetee screamed as T-rex licked his neck.

“You smell so good…” T-rex nuzzled the reddening skin.

“No! You are acting weird. Sniffing me like I am a fresh baked cake—Ah!” Maetee startled, remembering the peculiar perfume he had chosen to wear for the bed. “Wait!” Maetee yelped and rolled away.

“Heyy… Where do you think you are going?” T-rex whined crawling after him. The bed was annoyingly big.

Maetee reached the package from the table, reading the etiquette. ‘Pheromone fragrance to spice up the bedchamber.’

“Oh my God!” Maetee gasped. “T-rex look! This is why you are feeling weird. Hoi! Why are you undressing?”

“I’m feeling hot.” T-rex bluntly said.

“Wait! Don’t take everything off—Kyaaa!” Maetee screamed. It was too late T-rex was butt ass naked.

“Maeteee…” T-rex opened his arms. “Let’s cuddle.”

“I’m not cuddling with you like that!” Maetee tried to crawl away. He should not look. He should not look. He should not…

Maetee took a peek between his fingers. Ooh… His Prince was gorgeous! Like those marble sculptures of gods. Right, maybe Phra Mae Teeban would forgive him if he made love with this little god…

“Hmph! Maeteeee… I need a good night kiss.” Prince was throwing his usual bedtime tantrum.

“Ah!” Maetee slapped his cheeks. He needed to focus. “T-rex, this can be a plan of the evil witch to make me lose my powers to see the ghosts. We cannot fall into her trap.” Maetee tried to keep T-rex further while fighting against the urge to give in.

“Jub-jub!” T-rex was making a kissy face.

“Aaiiieeee!” Maetee was screaming as the kisses rained over him. He wrapped into a blanket like a caterpillar in its cocoon. “Goodnight!” He hid away from the danger. Maetee wasn’t the strongest soldier and a prince hungry for love was a bit too much for him.

“Huhuhu… So cute, my papillion went to nest…” T-rex threw his legs and arms around his prey and hugged the blanket bundle. “Goodnight, Maetee.”

Maetee felt hot, but he couldn’t take a risk and hatch out from his nest. Outside there was a naked prince ready to pierce him with his love.

Chapter 23: usurp

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Aunt Somphon’s evil plan to usurp the control over the kingdom was clear as the full moon in the cloudless sky. Why on earth did all the villains always want to strike in the middle of the night when it was the scariest moment of the day.

“T-reeex…” Maetee’s tearful wail echoed in an otherwise silent night.

“Shh… It’s going to be alright.” T-rex consoled, rubbing Maetee’s trembling back. “You are going to make your goddess Phra Mae Teeban and your prince very proud.”

“Uuuh…” Maetee sobbed. “But there are so many ghosts…” He could feel it in his bones how the spirits were gathering.

“And they all will be so happy to have this lovely priestess to free them under evil witch curse and guide them to the afterlife.” T-rex consoled.

“Y-you think?” Maetee sniffed, tucking T-rex’s sleeve.

“Of course!” T-rex gave Maetee a little encouraging peck. “Show me your beautiful dance…” T-rex let his hands drop on Maetee’s hips. “Jiggle-jiggle! Shake that booty for me.”

“T-rex!” Maetee yelped as Prince’s hands rocked his body from side to side.

“Huhuhu… You look irresistible in that gown.” T-rex winked. “Go get them, Maetee!” He patted the butt with a lucky slap.

“Uih!” Maetee jumped ahead. Not sure who was going to eat him first, the ghosts or his prince…

That night Home, Peach, T-rex and Maetee united their powers in a fight against the evil aunt Somphon. The puppet master of the horrendous ghost army was nearing the palace with her undead soldiers.

Maetee and Peach were screaming on top of their lungs while doing the exorcism rituals. Peach was cooking like a maniac and Maetee was chanting and dancing so that his head was spinning from all the swirling. His hundreds of talismans and charms tinkled like a full orchestra of jingle bells and tambourines.

Home and T-rex were cheering them on while hustling around with incense and candles, trying to keep the bitter smoke bearable. Still they were coughing and rubbing their itching eyes.

The ghosts marched into the palace, just to die in laughter. It was such a ridiculous sight that their cursed souls brightened up as the laugh shook their drained bodies. It was simply too funny for them to keep haunting them.

“Nooo!” Aunt Somphon screamed as one by one her ghost army vanished into brightness.

“Aow! That’s it?” T-rex stunned. It was easier than he had thought.

“Boohoo…T-rex…” Maetee clung on him. “It was so scaryyyy… I have never seen so many ghosts before.” Poor Maetee cried.

“Aww… There-there. You were so amazing!” T-rex praised and rewarded Maetee with a kiss.

“Oh!” Maetee blinked as his lips were free after a good smooch.

“Hehehe! You are the best, my papilion.” T-rex dried his tears.

“T-reeeex…” Maetee hugged him, never wanting to let go.

“Okay, everyone!” Home yelled over the chaos. “It’s time for the partyyyy!”

Chapter 24: coronation

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

As purification was done and all the ghosts vanished. It was time for the coronation. Prince Saharat became the king and everyone was convinced that Home’s parties were as legendary as rumoured.

Maetee had his first taste of plum vine. It made his head spin. T-rex was giggling after having a few glasses too many as well.

“So sweet…” T-rex pulled Maetee next to him.

“Oh! My Prince…” Maetee cuddled on to T-rex’s side. Prince’s firm chest was the best place to rest his head. He gazed into the starry eyes that were looking back at him a bit hazy but enamoured. “Why do you look so handsome?”

“That I could stand a chance to have a beauty like you by my side.” T-rex played with Maetee’s hair, sniffing the silky locks.

Maetee giggled until he came up with the next question. “Why do your arms look so strong?”

“That I could hold you tighter.” T-rex squeezed Maetee around the waist, pulling him closer into embrace.

Maetee stared at him with half closed eyes. “Why do your lips look so plump?”

“That I could better kiss you…” Prince leaned in.

Maetee has no time for any further questions as lips locked together. The taste of alcohol was strong, but it didn’t hinder them in any way. Prince’s tongue asked permission to enter and Maetee warmly welcomed it to explore his mouth.

Maetee gasped for air and wrapped his arms around T-rex’s neck, clinging on him like a drowning person on a lifebuoy. The taste was getting sweeter with each collision of their quickly swelling lips.

T-rex drank the smiles and giggles from Maetee’s lips. His concubine let out a pleased moan as he pressed him down on his back. T-rex’s eager hands roamed on Maetee’s sides, looking for a secret passage under the veils and gown to touch that silky skin.

Maetee felt dizzy. Maybe not only because of the plum vine, but because the way Prince’s kisses were easing his thirst. But the more kisses he gained. The more he wanted to have. Unconsciously his knees spread apart and the gown rode upper, allowing more room for the prince to be closer to him.

So pretty…” T-rex hissed.

“Angh!” Maetee couldn’t help the lewd noises escaping between his lips as the fingers slipped under his hem. Yes! Just there he wanted to be touched. T-rex should remove all the layers that blocked them from touching the way Prince and his favourite concubine should be joined…

“Hoi!” Kan alerted, pointing at the drowsy couple making out on the divan. “Our guest should have a room.”

“Uiiih!” Pangpang giggled, curiously watching the show in front of their eyes. This couple was the loveliest!

“Woo-hoo!” Home cheered. “Good job guys! Keep the party going.”

“Are you letting them continue?” Peach dared to ask as the couple got more tangled on the antique divan.

“Mh!” Home nodded, taking a sip of his drink. “They are too wasted to get it up.”

“Are you sure…” Peach doubted. “They seem to be very into it.”

“Nah! Look.” Home pointed. “Shorty and his concubine can barely kiss properly.”

“Well…” Peach pushed up his glasses. At first passionate looking kisses were turning sloppy and lazy as well as all the movement.

“Just wait a while and they will pass out.” Home reasoned it was fine. Nothing would escalate from there.

“A-ah… Ookay.” Peach returned back to prepare the dessert.

T-rex and Maetee’s portion he could leave out of the count since those two had found something more tasty in the dreamland. But maybe he should prepare hangover medicine and simple soup for the next morning before Prince and his concubine needed to head to the harbour to catch their ship back to Teeland.

Chapter 25: throne

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

As Home had taken his rightful spot on the throne. T-rex and Maetee returned back to Teeland. Ship journey could have been a pleasurable experience if they both wouldn’t have been so unwell after the party. They laid half dead on the floor of their cabin, suffering from horrendous headache and nausea.

Luckily, the express ship took the fastest route to Teekok and in two days they arrived at the familiar harbour. As soon as they got off, T-rex and Maetee were on their knees in the mud of the shoreline, hailing the soil, happy to have solid ground under their feet.

A royal carriage picking them up was parked slyly on the other side of the port. Watee still tried his best to keep a low profile about the whereabouts of young Prince and his male concubine, but the two seemed not to care if anyone noticed their arrival.

“Uuh…” Maetee sobbed tearfully. “We are alive… Thank you. Thank you.” Maetee mumbled prayers of gratitude.

“Hu-ooooh!” T-rex deeply inhaled before shouting out. “We are back home!”

“T-rex…” Maetee crawled to his prince’s feet. “I never want to travel again.”

“Aww…” T-rex cupped his concubine’s cheeks and pecked his lips. “Don’t worry, my papillion. Next trip will be our honeymoon trip.”

“Shit!” Teedet cursed. “Not even ten steps on land and they are sucking face.” He complained, seeing T-rex and Maetee kissing.

“Lucky, we didn’t bring Watee here…” Teedo rubbed his head, amazed how two bodies could clung together so seamlessly. “Umm…if we hurry, maybe we still can bring them to the palace before no one sees.”

Just as Teedo finished saying that the citizens started to applaud and cheer. Everyone was full of joy, knowing there soon would be a grand event—a royal wedding where the whole Teekok would be invited. There was less than a week remaining until one hundred days would be full, and on the one hundred first, the marriage ceremony would mark the beginning of the celebration.

Chapter 26: serenity

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

After the sun went down, the anticipated evening fell over a busy day. Offering its sheltering cover like the veil that hid the beautiful shape from curious eyes. T-rex abandoned his work and hurried to the east wing to meet his longed one.

A gasp slipped from the plump lips and jaw dropped in awe as he secretly watched how the dancer fluttered around in the rhythm of the candle flame. It was an enchanting sight, straight out of a folktale where a seiren lured a poor man to her just to eat him alive.

T-rex sat on the floor not able to avert his eyes. This one was worth the risk. Every swing and spin of those hips were lulling him deeper into the trance. He forgot all his royal duties, adjusting to another role. But he was not the only one in that process of change.

The dancer spun around and finally he noticed Prince’s presence. One look into each other’s eyes sparked something deep inside. Maetee picked up his speed, dancing like there was no tomorrow.

Maetee was switching from serving his goddess to be worshipped by his prince.

T-rex’s admiring gaze burned his body as he spun around in a ritualistic dance that was originally meant for the grace of Phra Mae Teeban, but now the purpose was to entertain his Prince.

And Prince…he was well entertained. Maetee was the centre of T-rex’s world.

Solely Prince devoted himself to his love.

Encouraged by T-rex’s unwavering attention, Maetee plopped on Prince’s lap and immediately hands wrapped around his hips, securing his position.

Maetee had never danced this intimately, Prince’s hands were roaming on his back, dropping on the small of his back, continuing their journey lower.

Maetee whispered a silent prayer. Maybe he was asking for blessings or approval for their sinful fun night. Maetee jiggled his booty, wrinkled on T-rex’s lap as the sneaky hands squeezed the thighs, spreading his legs a bit wider, so that Maetee could feel his prince’s excitement eagerly rubbing against his own.

Maetee couldn’t help the wanton moans escaping between his lips.

“Who is your prince?” T-rex asked, gripping Maetee’s waist, guiding him to meet his clothed thrust.

“T-rex!” Maetee yelped, lost in his need. The loosened night rope fell over his shoulder and exposed the chest.

T-rex went to the pink nubs, his mouth eagerly tasting.

“Ah!” Maetee was trembling in his lap, his hands tucking the hair on Prince’s nape. “T-rex! T-rex!” He screamed, hugging T-rex’s face closer to his chest.

T-rex hummed proud of himself, discovering another sweet spot of his concubine.

Watee should hurry up with the law reform. T-rex couldn’t wait any longer. He should make Maetee his husband right after a hundred nights would become full. Luckily, there was not much time left until T-rex would be allowed to call Maetee truly his.

While they have been abroad, Watee had gifted all the other concubines away, so there was no more distraction or useless competition. Only love remained like tonight when it burned in bright flames.

“Oiiih…they are so in love…” Maids were giggling while peeking from the half open door.

“Ahem!” A passing servant cleared her voice, startling the maids who rushed away waing and bowing deep.

Looksorn shook her head. Soon the whole palace…no, probably the whole Teekok would know the latest progress of the young prince and his male concubine’s relationship.

Silently she closed the door that the lovebirds and forgotten open. They should be more careful and considerate of others. If it had been Prince Watee who had seen them getting steamy, hell would break out.

Of course, this affair wasn’t any secret. Everyone could clearly sense the changed atmosphere between the young prince and his concubine. Maetee and T-rex were clingier than ever, clued to each other any given opportunity.

Looksorn hummed amused, hearing the muffled screams through the door. Only a few more days before she could present her ultimate skills as she dressed the bride-to-be in the wedding gown. It was going to be perfect.

Just in case, Looksorn had prepared two costumes, one for a wife look and one for a husband version. While male concubines were still permitted, a man marrying a man was unheard of. But if one hundred nights would become full, Teeland would soon witness its first equal marriage.

And knowing T-rex...he would surely be showing off and flexing with every amazing side of his groom-bride. Therefore, the more attires there were, the better. Although, in the end of the day, no clothes would remain on after the vows have been vowed.

Following day the dreamy couple were having a delightful picnic date at the garden. T-rex was laying his head on Maetee’s lap while Maetee feed him.

“Sweet…” T-rex hummed, smiling at him.

“The grapes?” Maetee raised an eyebrow.

“You!”

“Uih!” Maetee gasped as T-rex spun them around and pinned him to the picnic blanket.

“I want to kiss you.”

Maetee blushed for T-rex saying it so boldly. They were outside, meaning that anyone could see…

“Can I?” T-rex hovered over him, gazing at his favourite delicacy.

Maetee nodded, puckered up his lips and closed his eyes as a sign.

“My papilion…” T-rex leaned in to close the gap in a tender kiss.

Maetee’s heart fluttered for the nickname Prince had given it to him. It made him feel so special…beautiful and oh! so so loved.

“Whose concubine is this adorable?” T-rex smirked, releasing Maetee’s lips.

“Ah! T-rex! Hihihiii. Stop it! It tickles!” Maetee giggled as T-rex nuzzled his neck.

The serenity of the moment was disrupted by an arrow hitting a tree just above T-rex’s head.

“Take your dirty hands away from him!” The attacker shouted, readying the bow. “The next one will not miss.”

Chapter Text

“Step away!” A warrior in battle armour shouted, raising the bow. Next arrow hit the pillow, making the feathers swirl around.

“Guards!” T-rex shouted, trying to hide Maetee behind his back.

“No!” Maetee panicked as the attacker raised the bow again, aiming at his prince. Maetee didn’t hesitate and jumped to shield him.

“Maetee!” T-rex yelped as the arrow scratched Maetee’s arm. Luckily it barely touched him.

“Hoi idiot! What are you doing?” The attacker ran to them. “Why are you protecting him?”

“Are you here to steal away my bride or assassinate me?” T-rex asked, covering wounded Maetee. “Anyone offending my dearest, will get off with their head!”

“Wait! T-rex!” Maetee whined secured in T-rex’s arms. “Nee! Take off your mask.”

“Tsk.” The warrior clicked her tongue and removed the mask.

“Eh!?” T-rex stunned. It was the same face as his concubine. “How…”

“This is my sister, Maetinee.” Maetee explained. “She is the captain of Teeban warriors.”

“And that is our sacred virgin!” Maetinee shouted pointing at her twin. “Protector of the village, server of the shrine and Phra Mae Teeban.”

“Aow! But now we are in the capital. Here rules the king, my father. And as his son I will inherit his position. Here I am the god!” T-rex bragged.

“Hah! That’s pure idiocy if you think that you can change thousand year old traditions.”

“Well, you said it yourself.” T-rex straightened his posture, trying to make himself look bigger beside the tall woman. “After one hundred and one night Maetee will be my husband.”

“How dare you!” Maetinee irked. “If you fool stain a sacred virgin you will have a curse of a lifetime!”

“No! That’s not going to happen.” T-rex insisted.

“Yes! It will.” Maetinee wasn’t backing up.

“Please, stop.” Maetee tried to calm down the pointless argument.

“No it won’t!” T-rex was persistent.

“Yes—”

Maetee couldn’t stand to watch his most important people fight any longer and snatched a dagger from his sister’s weapon belt.

“Hoi!” Maetinee startled. “What are you—”

A black cloud puffed and rained down. Gaspes filled the air as the long black locks fell to the ground.

“Tee!” Maetinee looked at her twin shocked. “What are you doing?”

“I’m not the sacred virgin anymore.” Maetee said, holding a bunch of cut off hair. “Now I’m a concubine of my prince.” He declared, handing the hair to his sister and returned Prince’s side hugging his arm. “I belong with him.”

“Whaaa…” T-rex looked at Maetee eyes sparkling full of admiration. “That was so cool!”

“Tee…” Maetinee was speechlessly looking between her brother and the cut off hair. She clenched her fist and pointed her sword on Prince’s throat. “What have you done to him?”

At the moment she raised her weapon against the prince the guards surrounded them.

“What the hell is going on?” Watee arrived shouting. Maitee, Teedo and Teedet running right on his heels.

Emergency meeting took place immediately after the incident. Looksorn bandaged Maetee’s arm and cut his hair neatly while he was impatiently waiting for T-rex to come out of the throne hall where his sister was negotiating with the royal Tee council. It was a bit unfair that he was not allowed in there even though the decision they would make would concern him the most.

Finally the double doors were opened and Maetee rushed to T-rex.

“I’m sorry…” Maetee dropped on his knees before his prince, not daring to face T-rex.

“What are you sorry for?” T-rex asked, seemingly confused of Maetee’s behaviour.

“I cut my hair without asking your permission.” Maetee admitted his crime.

“Huh? Why would you need my permission?” T-rex blinked not understanding.

“I’m your concubine. I belong to you. Everything of me is yours, so I’m sorry for—”

“Shh…” T-rex pinched Maetee’s chin between his thumb and index finger, lifting his eyes to meet with his. “You are not an object of your villagers or Phra Mae Teeban…” He subtly gazed at Maetinee watching them.

“…or neither are you mine. No matter how much I would like to own you…you are your own being. You belong to only yourself. So do not say sorry for something you have the total right to do.” T-rex caressed the short cut hair. It was as soft as usual.

“But…” Maetee felt something was off. Why would T-rex say that? He had bought him. Of course, he should stay with him.

“Maetee, you need to respect yourself more.” T-rex helped Maetee to stand up. “Don’t let others put you down or tell you what you should do.” T-rex’s hand cupped Maetee’s cheek. “I discussed with P’Watee and your sister…” T-rex’s smile was grim as the words left from his lips. “They suggested me to send you back—”

“No!” Maetee startled, placing his hand over T-rex’s which so gently touched his cheek. “If you send me back I’m as good as nothing! I belong with you, like you belong with me.”

“Maetee…”

“Why are you so kind to me if you are just going to send me away? Don’t you…don’t you want me anymore?”

“Uh-uh.” T-rex shook his head. “My papilion… You are the priciest. The most valuable thing in my life, but pretty things are not meant to be locked in a cage. That’s why I want to set you free—”

“Free to be what? To turn into a ghost like Phra Mae Teeban when her love abandoned her? If you don’t love me you can just kill me here—”

“Maetee!” T-rex was shocked by his drastic threat.

“I love you! I love you, T-rex. So if you don’t love me back—Mhm!”

T-rex couldn’t listen to Maetee’s wailing any longer and pulled him into a kiss.

Confused Maetee looked at T-rex.

“I love you too, cannot you tell? I want you to be happy that’s why I—”

“I’m happy with you!” Maetee stomped his leg just like when T-rex was throwing his bedtime tantrum.

“Aow! Then…” T-rex kneeled down. Immediately abandoning all the deals he had done just a moment ago. “Would you share that happiness with me and become my husband?”

“Bohooo… I-I thought you would never ask…” Maetee burst out in tears and jumped to hug his tiny husband-to-be.

“What?!” Watee blinked. “He was supposed to send him back to his village until he reaches the marriageable age… Not to propose him!” He pointed at the sight, devastated. A sacred virgin of Teeban wasn’t supposed to marry before turning thirty.

“Well, one hundred nights will become full sooner. That’s a rule as well.” Maitee elbowed Watee. “Don’t you love the rules so much?”

“Argh!” Watee pulled his hair. He had no other option than to start to organise a royal wedding.

“Mh.” Maetinee shrugged. Actually they had already chosen a new sacred virgin since the rumours of Maetee and young Prince reached the north. Villagers were super excited that their own priestess had scored so high. Even though a bit too early, but one couldn’t really choose when the love came by.

Our Maetee is marrying prince Vatee!” Past few weeks their mother had not talked about anything else. She was so proud of her son. He had bright future ahead of him.

“If my brother is in love it cannot be helped then.” Even though villagers were ready to marry off their sacred virgin, Maetinee had personally wanted to see it with her own eyes, so she travelled all the way to Teekok to make sure it was really true.

And to be honest, the situation was a lot more severe than she had thought. Not only her lovesick brother was head over heels for the little Prince, but even T-rex seemed totally obsessed with Maetee.

“You accepted their relationship very easily.” Maitee said.

“I have never seen Maetee go against anyone, especially me. He is too scared to say or do as he really wants.” Maetinee looked at her brother, clinging onto his prince.

“I must admit that I was really impressed to see him act out of whim. This is the first time he expressed himself so straightforwardly. This little prince of yours is making him braver and stronger.” Maetinee could see positive change in her brother.

And the rule of one hundred and one nights was older than time. Everyone knew that if you spend so many nights together you had to get married. But she wouldn’t let the little prince have her brother too easily.

“Hoi, Tee! You have to put your suitor through the trial.” Maetinee told as their tradition demanded.

“Nooo!” Maetee whined.

“Don’t be such a crybaby. He must complete three missions in order to earn the hand of the sacred virgin.” Maetinee was strict about rules just like someone else’s sibling as well.

Maetee thought what to do. He couldn’t send T-rex away to complete dangerous missions. He gazed at his prince and T-rex was smiling at him with that mischievous smile of his.

“Ah!” Maetee got a clever idea. “First, he must swear he loves only me.”

“Done. I sent all my other concubines away.” T-rex boasted.

“Second, he must protect me from ghosts.” Maetee decided.

“Done. I helped you to exorcise the ghosts from the Vimarnsukmun palace.” T-rex showed off his biceps as if it had taken him any effort.

“Third… Hihihi…” Maetee couldn’t help himself. “He must give me a kiss.”

T-rex tipped his toes to give Maetee a good smooch. “Done!” He grinned from ear to ear. His fiance was not only pretty and handsome, but Maetee was also smart.

“See! My Prince is so wonderful!” Maetee giggled, hugging T-rex. “He cleared all the missions.”

Where is my reward…” T-rex smirked, whispering so that his sister-in-law could not hear.

“T-rex!” Maetee yelped. Prince shouldn’t get handsy in front of his sister.

“Well…” Maetinee rubbed her nape. Technically it seemed legit. “Argh! Whatever. Just get married then.” She had no motivation to argue against the word of the ex sacred virgin of Teeban. If Maetee had chosen this tiny prince himself, T-rex must be worth his love.

Chapter Text

A little innocent kiss was not the thing Maetee was satisfied anymore. They were engaged now, so as T-rex’s fiance he must have more privilege. Good that his Prince was like-minded about that. Pinning him against the desk. Oh, how shamless of Maetee to disrupt his Prince during his important work. But he needed to have a break as well, right?

“Ah!” Maetee laid on the table and T-rex settled between his eagerly spreading legs. Being a dancing priestess had its benefits. Maetee’s body was flexible, easily bending into any posture T-rex wanted him in. T-rex was a bit short but as Maetee was folded in such a way, their bodies deliciously rubbed together.

“T-rex!” Maetee’s wanton moans echoed from the walls and from the open windows.

There must be no one in the whole palace or even in the whole Teekok who did not know about the younger prince and his male concubine’s engagement.

“Beautiful, my papillion…absolutely stunning.” T-rex praised, not even considering to tell Maetee to keep down his voice. Why should he? A damp spot stained the undergarment and T-rex was happy to hear and see Maetee felt as good as him.

Maetee was shying, trying to avert his eyes, but then T-rex was kissing him again and he forgot why he should be embarrassed to be in love. He was going to marry this man.

“Bath.” T-rex pulled him up and Maetee leaned on him, receiving a couple more soothing kisses.

“Two more days…” T-rex hissed his hand, caressing Maetee’s back.

Maetee felt the shivers. Had he really come this far?

T-rex brought Maetee’s hand on his lips and kissed it, looking Maetee straight into the eyes. “I will put a ring on here.” He sucked the finger.

“T-rex…” Maetee gasped.

“Then I can do to you anything you want…” T-rex released the spit coated wet finger.

“Uuh…” Maetee shivered. His mind had turned so naughty. But only a finger was not enough. Maetee hoped to be touched more holistically… Maetee gazed down between Prince legs just a moment ago they had played, but T-rex looked like he was ready for the next round.

Oh! His prince was so full of manly vigour. Maetee dropped on his knees, reaching the waist band.

“Hey…what are you up to?” T-rex petted Maetee’s head.

“It does not count if it is me touching you…you can still marry a virgin.” Maetee reasoned his logic, finding a loophole.

“Umm, well…” T-rex was very flexible with the rules and if Maetee wanted something…How could he say no?

“Let’s take a bath first.” T-rex couldn’t take a risk that any of their siblings would walk into his office while… Well, probably no one would dare to open that door. Anyone could make a guess based on the voices that they might not be in their most proper. Sometimes it was hard to believe they were the same lineage. Watee and Maetinee loved their rules probably as much as T-rex and Maetee loved each other.

Anyway, they took a bath. Maetee rested against his little prince’s chest. So comfy and safe. Everytime he giggled out of joyful thoughts, a little kiss landed on his face.

“More!” Maetee pleaded and T-rex kissed him again and again. “More!”

“Umm, the water is cooling down.” T-rex guided them out to dry and towards the bedroom.

Prince sat on his bed, resting against the headboard. The concubine wanted to dance for him while telling a bedtime story.

“Once upon a time, there was a little dragon. It was lonely and homeless, looking for a warm and safe cave to make its nest in…” Maetee looked at T-rex, batting his eyes, letting the gown drop over his shoulder and raised the hem while giggling.

“Hoi!” T-rex yelped. This bedtime story was quite lewd and the storyteller was hardcore flirting. “Little dragon has woken up…” He gazed down, nodding towards the formed bulge.

“Uiiih!” Maetee screamed. “Little dragon is not so little anymore…” He crawled on the bed. “Holy mountain of Teeban was good place to have a housewarming…” Maetee chuckled and lifted Prince’s night rope to greet the dragon with a little kiss on top of its head.

“Damn…” T-rex gasped, leaning his head back on the headboard.

“Oh! Is the big little dragon getting angry or why is it so red?” Maetee asked, lazily stroking it.

“Y-you have been…teasing it.” T-rex said, his breathing labouring.

“Maybe it wants to explore its new home cave…” Maetee leaned down.

“Ah!” T-rex groaned as Maetee warmly welcomed the dragon in his mouth.

It didn’t take more than a few pops of his head when T-rex was already tucking Maetee’s hair and gasping for him to let go. “Ungh! Maetee!”

Maetee happily hummed, hollowing his cheeks. He was not letting the dragon free. Why should it leave its cave when it just got cosy in there?

T-rex gripped Maetee’s nape and Maetee felt how dragon began to spit. He tried to swallow all, but was not prepared how sharp the spurts could be. While coughing Maetee had to retreat, dragon’s spit was dripping to his chin. “And so…” Maetee gasped for air, got up and wiped his mouth. “In the depths of the holy Teeban mountain little dragon spit fire and calmed down.”

“Wow!” T-rex gasped, purely impressed. “This legend is pretty awesome.” He said and pulled Maetee in a kiss.

Maetee moaned. T-rex kissed him deep while his hand finished him off with a firm squeeze.

Maetee snuggled in Prince’s arms, resting his head on his chest as T-rex’s hand played with the hair on his nape. He seemed to like his short hair as well, especially the way it offered free access to his neck.

“The way you present your stories is becoming better and better.” T-rex said, mouthing the tender skin. “It was so vivid.” He nibbled the neck.

“Ahm!” Maetee shivered, feeling the sting of bite.

“I could totally emphasise with the little dragon.” T-rex licked the mark he had left on the long white neck.

“Mh.” Maetee nodded, pleased to be claimed. “But the story doesn’t end there.”

“Huh?”

“The holy mountain of Teeban has two caves…” Maetee rolled more on top of him.

“Aow! With two do you mean…” T-rex gazed down between them. The nightrope hid other exciting secrets under it.

“Mh, the little dragon just explored the north cave, but the south cave is tighter, warmer and cosier.” Maetee raised the hem, exposing his bare bottom. “It’s perfect for the little dragon to make its nest in, and coat the walls with its fire…”

“Maetee!” T-rex yelped. His innocent little concubine was really desperate to have a taste of the real deal.

“Umh! You have promised to make me yours. Every night I prepare my heart and wait that it might be the night, but no.” Maetee pouted.

“Hey! Tonight is our 99th night together, just one more night like this and one hundred and first you will have all of me.” T-rex consoled.

“Hmph…” Maetee whined. “It is so unfair.”

“Aww…don’t sulk, my papillion. Come here and—”

“I don’t want any finger play! I want your cock!”

“Aow…” T-rex blinked. Horny Maetee got a temper. That was kinda hot…

Chapter 29: proclaim

Chapter Text

King Watin proclaimed the marriage of his younger son from the balcony of the royal palace. The official ceremony would begin tomorrow, marking the date of the hundred and one day since T-rex had brought Maetee into the palace. Whole Teekok was hustling on the eve of the big event.

Maetee’s short cut hair was neatly combed and he had a new set of clothes to try on.

“You look very handsome, my papillon.” T-rex smiled, appreciating the new costume.

“Ah! Umm…do you not think it’s weird?” Maetee watched his unusual reflection in the mirror.

“How it’s weird?” T-rex asked back, kissing the neck. He was fully enjoying the benefits of the short hair.

“T-T-rex…” Maetee tried to keep his groom’s hands at bay. They had company. Maids, Looksorn and his sister were all watching the costume fitting.

“So gorgeous…” T-rex’s hands played with the hem.

“Oih!” Maetee quickly pulled his shirt down before anything scandalising would occur. “Does it not bother you that I’m dressed as a man.” Maetee was not used to his new outfit.

“Huh? Why?” T-rex stunned. “Don’t you like it?”

“No! I like it.” Maetee nodded. Somehow he managed to look good in everything his prince picked for him. There would be a traditional suit for the formal ceremony and dreamy dress for the party after. “But people… They will gossip about you.”

“Hmph! Let people talk. No matter what we do they will talk.” T-rex stated a fact. He was a public figure in their country. There was no such thing as complete privacy.

“But…”

“If having a male concubine is fine, why not having a husband wouldn’t be?” T-rex smirked, once again checking Maetee from head to toes. He bit his lip, having no problem with any attire but maybe they should practise the undressing part as well…

“Umm…” Once again Maetee was removing T-rex’s hands from the knots keeping his clothes on. “…but I’m dressed as a man.” Maetee was overly conscious about his looks.

“Yeah!” T-rex wrapped his arms around his fiance, hugging him from behind. “Look at that person.” He pointed at the mirror.

Warily Maetee looked at their figures tangled together. “They look perfect for each other…” He had to admit that. This was exactly how they should be, T-rex wrapped around him.

“Mh.” T-rex nodded, going for the neck again. “People will be so jealous of me…” He let his lips play with the tender skin. Maetee’s gasps cheering him to continue.

“…that I have a husband who is the most handsome man on the earth and at the same time…” T-rex pressed against Maetee, making him jolt. He must be feeling his desire poking his back.

“He can be the most beautiful lady as well.” T-rex grinned, his hand slipping under the shirt. He was surely the luckiest in the whole universe.

Maetee closed his eyes, getting lulled in the feeling. He leaned back on his prince’s chest “You are not worried?” He confirmed even though his concerns were quickly getting replaced with other thoughts. The sneaky hands had found their way to his chest.

“Not at least.” T-rex quickly spun Maetee around so that they were face to face. “Don’t you remember I am prince, king and god! So if I want to marry you, I will!” T-rex declared and kissed his bride-to-be.

Maetee felt the warmth rushing through his system. Oh! How he loved his prince.

“T-rex!” Maetee yelped, freeing his lips.

“Yes, my papilion.” T-rex held his nape, hoping to have another taste of that sweetness.

“I love you!” Maetee shouted so loud that the whole palace must have heard him. “I love you so so much that I might explode!”

“Hehe!” T-rex pulled Maetee into a hug. “I love you even more.”

“No! I love you more.” Maetee insisted.

“Ooh! My fiance is so sweet…”T-rex cooed.

“My fiance is even sweeter!” Maetee stated.

“Huh? But my fiance is the sweetest.” T-rex came up with another praise.

“My fiance is the loveliest!” Maetee declared.

“No! My fiance is the loveliest.” T-rex disagreed.

“No! Mine is!” Maetee wasn’t giving up.

“Uh-uh! Definitely mine.” T-rex was persistent.

“Mine!” Maetee yelled.

“Mine!” T-rex argued against.

Maetinee rolled her eyes. That was totally ridiculous, sappy and eww…making her nauseous. How could she survive from the wedding if it was going to be this crazy? Switching from steamy flirting to sweet and silly in a blink of an eye.

“Ahem!” Watee came to check that all the preparations were proceeding according to schedule. “Huh?” He frowned seeing the lovebirds having a passionate argument just a day before the wedding. “What are they fighting about?”

“Trust me, you don’t want to know.” Maetinee shook her head. Already imagining how Maetee was going to bawl his eyes out while trying to make his wove. It was going to be a long and agonisingly hearthful day tomorrow.

Chapter 30: grandeur

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The marriage ceremony of Prince Vatee and his male concubine was a grandeur event. Even King Home and Peach with their troupe came to Teekok to congratulate them. The celebration was going to last for the whole month.

Even if Maetee had cut his hair short and dressed as a man T-rex loved him all the same. His desire for him didn’t decrease no matter how he looked. Still Maetee preferred to change into his wedding dress when it came time to dance.

One hundred and the first night was just as Looksorn had once claimed. The just married couple excused themselves when the dance started to get too intimate. They ran through the hallways, laughing while escaping from their own wedding party.

In Prince’s bedroom they get rid of the unnecessary glamour. The bed was as soft as usual, but still different. There were no more excuses. No more reasons to avoid each other. Maetee was sprawled on his back as he took T-rex into an embrace like a wife took his husband.

Finally, the little big dragon found a home, making its nest in the deepest part of Maetee. There it would keep warm and live a content and happy life, hugged by the tight walls of its glencing home cave.

Their marriage bed became a stage of a new sacred ritual. As a sacred virgin Maetee had not known about earthly bodily desires before meeting T-rex, but now he was eagerly chanting his husband’s name as they sealed their union. Their bedroom was new temple of desire and love. Ultimately, that was it, everything was about love.

That short moment their eyes had met in the market place had been significant. Maybe it was love at first sight. Their hearts had known that was the person they were meant to be with.

Maetee rested his head on T-rex’s chest listening to the happily thumping heart. T-rex’s arm around him felt safe. Nothing in the world could come to him. He was in the embrace of the world’s mightiest man. Prince Vatee Reaungrittiroj, his lawful husband.

Traditionally, spouse of the Prince had only one official duty, to give him a successor. That part, Maetee could never fulfil. But he would love T-rex. Love him more than anyone ever could. Stand by his side, encouraging, supporting. Anything his husband would need, Maetee could be…

A hand caressed Maetee’s hair and little kisses were placed on the top of his head. He wasn’t a sacred virgin anymore. He had lost that title as he chose to be with T-rex and Maetee didn’t regret it. He was happy now, happier than he had ever been. He knew Phra Mae Teeban was smiling at them as well.

“A baht for your thoughts.” T-rex hissed. “What are you thinking, my papillon?

“Just that… How happy I am.” Maetee snuggled in the arms of the prince of his dreams. No, T-rex was even better than anything he could have imagined.

“Oh! It makes me happy to hear that sweetheart.” T-rex sniff kissed his cheek.

“But…” Maetee gazed up at him.

“Mh?” T-rex tenderly smiled and only that kind gesture was easing his worry.

“Are you really okay with someone like me?” Maetee asked although he already knew how T-rex loved him.

“Aww…are you still worried about that? If male concubines are not a problem why marrying one would be. You are now my husband Maetee, and I’m proud it is you I can show off to my people, hihihi…”

“T-rex!” Maetee yelped as the hands wandered under the blanket.

“Yes, my love…” T-rex easily turned them around.

“Umh… No matter how much you love me or I love you… there will be no child.” Maetee brought up his new worry.

“So? Marriage is not about having a child. It is about sharing love with your family. You are my family Maetee. I don’t need anything else. Just you letting me love you.” T-rex kissed the forehead to prove his sincere feelings.

“Uumh…” Maetee was tearing up.

“Hey, my papillion.” T-rex cupped Maetee’s cheeks. “I Love you.”

“Uunh…” Maetee bursts out in tears. “I love you too…”

T-rex pulled his husband into a kiss. It was gentle. It was hot. And it was filled with love.

And they lived happily ever after.” Maetee whispered as his lips were released.

“Oh-hoo!” T-rex waggled his eyebrows. “Don’t think it’s over yet.” He smirked, lifting Maetee’s leg over his shoulder.

“T-rex!” Maetee screamed, knowing exactly how their story was going to continue.
