Alright, buckle up, folks, because this is going to be long, chaotic, and probably cringe, but here we go. First things first: yes, Luna Knows Best is a psychological mess, and yes, it’s heavily inspired by concepts like Lima Syndrome, Stockholm Syndrome, London Syndrome, Monroe Syndrome, and Berlin Syndrome. For anyone unfamiliar:
- Lima Syndrome is when the captor starts sympathizing with the hostage.
- London Syndrome is when the hostage argues with their captor—often to fatal results.
- Monroe Syndrome deals with the feelings of emptiness, split identities, and unstable emotional relationships, often tied to borderline personality disorder.
- Berlin Syndrome explores emotional and psychological entrapment, often in a romantic or dependent relationship, where reality gets distorted into a fantasy.
I’m not claiming to be an expert on any of this. I don’t know the first thing about actual physical, emotional, or psychological abuse beyond what I’ve read or researched, so please don’t take anything in this AU as a reflection of reality. It’s a fictional exploration of deeply flawed dynamics, and that’s all.
Now, onto the updates: I know I’m slow. I warned you all. It’s going to be a while before I post full chapters because I’ll be camping at the beach in Cape Town (yay, no Wi-Fi, no electronics, just sand, sun, and questionable survival skills). So before anyone starts complaining about the lack of updates, just know:
1. I have no sleep schedule.
2. I have no concept of time management.
3. My beta reader lives halfway across the world and is busy with their own life, so don’t expect miracles.
