CODE INKO! I repeat CODE INKO" radio crackles "All available units stationed, head to Takeshita, approach from the East side"
It was a rush to get everyone up and gone as quickly as possible. Kaji had called every one, meaning something serious had happened.
Arriving at the scene was a nightmare, there was flooding everywhere, people and cars were being moved around, and tree branches and traffic signs floated through the water. Kaji quickly got them to split into groups and work with the hydrokenisis specialists called in to rescue all civilians while he found where Midoriya was and what was troubling her. Moving through the flood with Vatak by his side he made his way down the street to the local grocer where he knew Midoriya liked to shop.
Breaking through the warped glass door, the bottom folded back likely from water suddenly rushing from the inside to the street, he finally saw Midoriya watching the news with tears falling down her face.
"...with at least 72 villains on the scene, UA is lucky to only have 2 injured teachers and 6 injured students"
Kaji quickly rushed to turn the TV off before he turned to talk to Midoriya.
"Midoriya, Izuku will be fine, they said the students were only injured," Kaji said, trying to peacefully stop the flood.
"B-but my poor baby boy, I c-couldn't protect him and now he's all hurt," Midoriya said, tears beginning to swell again.
"Midoriya Inko, you will stop crying this instant, what would your son say if he knew this is how you are acting," Kaji spoke, louder now as he got her to stop crying. "He needs you to go make sure he's ok and tell him that you love him. Can you do that?"
Kaji's words quickly blinked away her tears before a passion ignited in her eyes, "Yes, you're right, Izuku needs me now by his side, not crying alone at my favourite store. Thank you, Tanaka, I'll be leaving"
As she left, kaji signed, one crisis averted for the day, he just hoped that passion could last her a while.
"You're aware I'm going to be charging top dollar for this cleanup," Vatak said. Kaji signed again, his first words today - only to ask for payment.
"Yes, just get to cleaning, I've got civilians to save and a team to debrief.
3 weeks later
radio crackles, lights blink on
"Fire on 3rd street! Ladder Company 27 take the truck, an apartment unit has gone up in flames, and you'll need the ladder"
The firefighters raced to the truck, their preparation and maintenance dropped, ready to be picked up when they returned. The sun shines bright as they pull out of the garage onto the main street lights about to be turned on.
radio crackles again
"CODE INKO, I repeat CODE INKO, I have the situation handled, the fire has been dealt with"
----------
Kaji arrived at the apartment building expecting a hole where an apartment was, not a drenched apartment building very much fully intact. Seeing Inko still teary-eyed he decided it would be best to handle the situation before it got to the point that they would have to call Vatak, he'd rather not pay out the nose to get him and his team out here. Sending the other members of his team to ensure the fire is fully dealt with and the apartment hasn't sustained much water damage.
"Midoriya-sama, are you all right?" The station general said. "Will you be fine to make your way home?"
"Oh g-good morning Tanaka-san," Inko said. Sniffling her nose she looked at him with red-rimmed eyes, "They had a pet goldfish, his name was B-Bubbleray and he was 14 years old! I was just leaving after visiting a friend when they ran down the fire escape and told me about their fish."
"Mrs Midoriya, there is no more need to worry, the situation is under control, my men are checking the building right now, I'm sure you should rehydrate as soon as you get home"
"Y-yes, thank you, Tanaka," Inko said, rubbing her eyes again, "I'll be heading home now."
As Kaji went to ask the family how the fire had started he thanked his lucky stars that it was only a Goldfish this time, who knows what would've happened if it was a dog or cat, or god forbid a bird. The station knows what happened the last time Inko saw a dead bird, many of them still had nightmares.
