Work Text:
Geneva had heard about a new place to shop opening up where The Viper Pit was at the moment, and she thought it was a great idea. She didn't really understand the appeal of a big hole full of snakes in the first place. Plus, a new place to shop meant another store to spend money at! She hoped they'd have cute skirts.
If Piper got her way, though, there wouldn't be a new store! She was protesting the closing of the snake pit, which really didn't seem wise. If it didn't close, she wouldn't be able to shop in a store at the same location. She remembered going to The Viper Pit once when they'd been having a flash sale on jackets, and that had been fun, but she'd been worried about the snakes, and there was a lot of moshing and tongue biting at the sale. They'd never sold anything again, but hopefully that would change with the renovation. Piper seemed hell-bent on getting the place to stay open, though. If Geneva had to be against Piper to advocate for a new shopping experience, so be it.
Her coworker was currently chaining herself to the door of the condemned building, which conveniently had bars on it to connect the chains to. Geneva thought that was dumb; couldn't they just open the door? She'd never been known for her brains, though, so she didn't bring it up. Plus, if this really did make Piper more likely to fail, it helped her cause!
To effectively protest this protest, Geneva realized, she’d have to chain herself to something, but what? She looked at the sign she’d made. Reject the Piper, it said. She was protesting Piper's protest, and therefore Piper. Geneva knew what she had to do.
She quickly grabbed a length of chain for herself (they were all over since it was both a punk place and condemned) and secured it to Piper before walking away, holding the other end of the chain.
Geneva then used her ballet skills to spin to her right until she was pressed against Piper's side. "Reject the Piper! Reject the Piper!" she shouted, trying to wave her sign but finding it difficult since her arms were pinned to her sides.
"You have got to be kidding me," Piper muttered under her breath, then turned her head to look at Geneva. "Geneva, could you not shout right in my ear if you're going to be chained to me?"
Geneva sighed. "Fine," she said, trying to cross her arms but failing since her arms were still pinned to her sides.
Piper grumbled something else, so Geneva turned her head to face her to be able to hear her better. "Wow, Piper!" She exclaimed. "Your head is bigger than I thought." Piper's head was huge. It was all she could see.
"Geneva, my head isn't that big, you're just, like, two inches from my face," Piper said.
"Ohhh, that makes more sense," Geneva said, nodding her head and nearly headbutting Piper. She looked up into Piper's eyes to see whether or not she had an angry glower on her face, but instead she was met with a gentle, almost peaceful expression. She wondered whether or not this was really her. The Piper she knew would never be caught dead almost smiling.
Geneva didn't mind this look on her face, though. Without the scowl, Piper was... Pretty? That was a strange thought to pop into her head right now. But being so close to her, Geneva could see every freckle on her face and she could smell whatever strange perfume she was wearing, and even though her whole protest was built on rejecting Piper, right now all she wanted to do was accept her. Accept her lips. On Geneva's. She wanted to kiss her.
"Piper," Geneva whispered, remembering she'd been told not to shout. "Piper, can we kiss?" She asked, smiling nervously at her coworker.
The other girl looked concerned, like maybe she thought it was a joke, her eyebrows pulling together for a moment, before realizing that Geneva was serious. Piper nodded.
Geneva grinned and would have clapped her hands, could she move her arms. For now, she made do with the little bit that she could move and closed the space between their lips, which, again, was not a lot.
She had never kissed a girl before, but so far it was much better than kissing any boy. It seemed like Piper liked it, too. Finally, they could agree on something.
Geneva pulled away after a couple of seconds, still smiling like she'd just found the mall. She realized that she didn't want Piper to be rejected from anything.
Now her cause was no good! She quickly unchained herself from the other girl and began walking away.
"Wait!" Piper exclaimed. Geneva turned around, tilting her blonde head. "Am I really that bad of a kisser?" she asked awkwardly.
"No, I just don't have a platform to stand on for change," Geneva explained. "I left my elevated shoes at home."
