Chapter Text

Screaming was the first thing that Scott heard this morning. 

Did a human come up here ? And who was screaming. 

He ran as fast as he could he could see several other rats heading towards the direction of the screaming. 

El yelled as she watch and attempted to save bek from the strange shadow that had show up.

Everything seem okay so far then suddenly sone strange shadow showing up and attacking them.

Bek stood in front of her wife in attempted to protect her only for the shadow to grab her and pull into a strange looking hole.

El attempted to grabbed her paw but it was useless all she could do was shout.

" what's going on here" Martyn asked he was the first there the other rats that had heard too were behind him.

" some strange shadow thing took bek!" El yelled, " a shadow?" Ren asked, " Yes shadow" El replied before anyone else could say something Scott noticed something strange strange appearing underneath ros.

" ros look " Scott said, ros look at Scott confused and several other rats did too then suddenly what look like a shadow suddenly grabbed rose.

Ros started to screamed alarming the others ratman ran towards her in attempted to save ros only to be stopped by ren .

" help me!" Ros screamed as the shadow drag her away the others could do nothing but watch in horror. 

Suddenly a another shadow apparently this one attempting to grab Owen, he noticed it in time and jump away. 

" run!" Shelby,water and Martyn yelled most of the rats did that with the exception of apo,tubbo and ratman the three were planing to fight the shadows. 

A plan which would fail tubbo ran forward towards the shadow as soon as it appeared attempting to smack it.

It did nothing and simple grab the rat and pull him to where it took bek and ros.

Ratman and apo soon follow. 

The rats ran and ran from the shadows but they couldn't outrun them.

The shadow managed to grab El and water who stopped running and attempted to save El.

They begin to grab the rats one by one soon only five were left.

Martyn stood in front the remaining rats ,Scott, Shelby, korva, mog and shep huddle closed together. 

The shadow appeared in front of Martyn " I won't let you take the others" he yelled at them the shadow just ignored what and said and it just grabbed Martyn .

Then it grabbed korva, shep and Shelby as it grabbed mog ,Scott attempted to grab his paw and attempted to pull him out of the shadow's clutch. 

But it just took them both.

The least thing Scott heard was screaming. 

Then darkness. 

" Scott, Scott!" Someone was saying his name and shaking him.

Scott open his eyes and saw that it was mog.

Mog look relieved when he saw Scott was alive. 

" thank goodness you're alive" mog said to Scott, " after those shadows grab us i thought we were dead . But instead i woke up here on the ground and see you here too"

Did they not die so the shadow didn't kill them.

" so we didn't die" Scott said to mog as he help him up ," I don't think so" mog replied the two rats started to look around. 

It looked like they were outside, there was grass and trees and bushes but that wasn't the only thing Scott saw.

What look like a building was what also he saw.

It look like it was made of wood. 

Well hopefully him and mog don't have to spend the night in the wilderness if they can get there.

" mog there's a building " he told mog and pointed mog look. 

" we can take shelter there" Scott said, " and if there's humans we can get food" .

Mog look at Scott " hopefully we can get there before it gets dark" he replied to Scott. 

It looked far but luckily the sun was up hopefully they'll be there before it's dark.

The two rats quickly hurried towards the building. 

The building was pretty far for both rats but they didn't want to give up soon.

They also kept a eye out for any rats in hopes that they might be here and a look out for everything dangerous. 

Suddenly Scott could hear footsteps he and mog stop and looked. 

Four humans were walking towards the building carrying what look like bags .

Two of the humans were male and the other two were female. 

One was a child . Scott and mog looked at the humans beging careful they didn't get step on.

As one the male humans the one with the strange hairstyle step forward he almost stepped on Scott and mog .

Both rats quickly move out the way Scott accidentally made the man almost fall over dropping his bag .

The other human stop and looked at the man.

While the humans were distracted Scott look at the bag and got a idea. 

They could hid in this man's bag and they could get in the building faster. 

Grabbing mog's paw Scott began to run towards the bag.

" Scott what are you doing," mog ask, " I got a idea " Scott said they were at the bag " we hid in this bag and then we'll be in that building faster" he told mog.

Mog look at Scott but knew that it was faster then walking which could take hours. 

" let's hope we don't get caught " he told Scott, Scott got the bag open enough for them to crawl into the bag luckily it wasn't cramp while it was full there was enough space for the two. 

It was full of different things one the things look like grass ,the two rats felt the bag begin grabbed and then heard walking. 

During the time they were in the bag the two rats made sure they wouldn't get crushed and were close enough to see when it be safe for them to leave. 

Both rats heard the man removing his bag and placing it on the ground thankfully he place it gently. 

Scott could hear him opening and grabbed mog trying to name sure they wouldn't be seen.

The man reached into his bag pulling out what he had in there .

They needed to get out of here before he spots them.

But how? Scott and mog move around in the bag avoiding the man's hand as he reach in to grab things.

At one point he almost grab Scott which luckily was avoided by mog grabbing something and the man taking it.

Soon he stop taking things out his bag and close it leaving the two rats in the dark .

They felt him pick and up and carry it somewhere else. 

Eventually they heard him place it down and walk away from it.

Scott and mog waited a few minutes before taking a peak.

" is he gone?" Mog asked, " I think so" Scott replied suddenly the bag fell over alarming the rats.

The bag fully opens and the two rats ran out of it.

Scott and mog looked around it looked like a tent a bed ,a desk and things on the desk two things begin paper and what look like pencil. 

" it looks like the man was studying things" Scott thought was this guy a scientist it made Scott want to look at what this human had.

But suddenly a growling noise is heard alarming the two rats.

" what was that" mog said both rats look around suddenly they heard it again and Scott look at his stomach. 

He realized what it was " sorry that ne" he said to mog .

He was hungry Scott Check to see if he had any food. 

Nothing not even any potions, he look at mog " do you have anything " he asked, " sorry no" mog said. 

But luckily this place had something other then humans .

Food, now to find where the humans keep it and make sure they don't get spotted. 

Shelby felt something poking her face and then a voice " shubble, rat shubble " oh no she recognized who it was.

Shelby open her eyes and wish she didn't .

It was tubbo he was poking her face " you're alive" he yelled " I thought I had to eat you if you were dead". 

Shelby started to back away from tubbo only for her back to hit something or someone. 

She immediately looked behind her , and found she had bump into a human. 

While she thought it was human they turn around and she saw it looked like a spider. 

They immediately looked down to see what hit their leg.

Shelby frozen in fear while tubbo just stared at them .

Suddenly something grabbed tubbo pulling him from wherever they were which was a tent that they were in.

Shelby then felt something grab her and looked to see that the strange creature had grab her.

She started to struggle In attempted to get out of the strange creatures grip .

The creature just looked at her as Shelby attempted to escape from it's grip.

Suddenly Shelby heard growling alarming her .

Was it going to eat her . The creature looked at Shelby before using their free hand and grabbing something. 

They then suddenly place Shelby down she immediately looked around. 

She was trapped between the wall of what look like a tent and the creature.

Well she won't go down without a fight .

" alright do your worse" she shouts at the creature only for one it's hand to reach forward and open it in front of Shelby.

She looked at what it had.  It looked like berries. 

Were they giving her food suddenly she heard growling again and realized it was her stomach. 

" is this for ne" she asked, " the creature nodded then spoke. 

" here" he said Shelby realized they sounded like a boy .

He was a child ,Shelby reach forward and grab one of the berries and then looked at the kid.

He was watching her ,Shelby stuff the berry into her mouth and then chewed.

It tasted good ,after she finished the first she ate another and another until she was full. 

The spider kid watch her ,he looked happy. 

" he seems friendly" she thought unless he was pretending to but it didn't seem like he was doing that .

" thank for the food" she told the child," sorry if scared you" the kid said to Shelby .

" I thought you we're going to eat me" she said, the kid look at Shelby, " we wouldn't eat you" the kid said did he just say we.

Never mind that she should probably introduce herself. 

" I'm Shelby " she said to the kid ," webber" the boy said, " nice to met you webber" Shelby said, " nice to met you too" webber replied " so how did you and your friend get in my tent".

Friend doe he mean tubbo " that rat isn't my friend" Shelby said " and how we got in here I don't know how or where am I.  I'm kinda well".

She stuck probably somewhere else wherever these shadows took them.

Even if she left where would she get food. 

Webber looked at Shelby, " I don't know how the adults would feel about a rat being here and especially a talking one. But maybe I could ask wendy,Walter and wurt for help" webber said. 

Shelby was unsure if that idea would be a good one but she didn't want to starve and she wanted to find the others minus tubbo.

" it's worth a shot" Shelby said " I also need to find the other rats if we can . Can you help with that?".

Webber nodded his head before placing his hand down.

" I'm pretty sure they'll all here" he told Shelby " I'll try and hid you".

Shelby climb onto webber's hand and he made sure she wouldn't be seen.

He then opened the tent to the outside. 

Chapter Text

Pov Martyn 

Martyn look around it been a few minutes since he had woken up and found himself with ren,el,water and ros, he was glad everyone here was okay he thought that it was the end for him when the shadows got them.

Ros and water were currently trying to help El not panic about bek trying to tell her that they will find her. Ren was currently looking around, Martyn was too they were next to a bush with berries and he thought he could see some tents.

They needed to find the others.  But first food and shelter and if there's any humans stay away from them. " what do we do!" Ros said she and water had finally managed to calm El down. 

Ren turn towards Martyn " lieutenant what do we do?" He asked Martyn, the other three rats look at him. " we should get food and shelter first" Martyn replied with ," but what about the others" water asked, " we'll find them . But for now we need to get supplies" Martyn told him.

Luckily food was here hopefully.  They were near a bush with berries.  They all approach the berry bushes.  Ren volunteer to eat a berry first to make sure they were safe.  He grab one and shove it in his mouth. 

The others watch as Ren chewed and then swallow the berry. " is it safe?" El asked, " I think so" ren replied " there also delicious" . The rats soon heard their stomachs growl with hunger and they immediately started to grab berries from the bushe and eat them.

While the rats stuff themselves with berries they were unaware of something approaching to where they were. 

Pov Scott 

Leaving the tent mog and Scott look around to see if they could find where the humans keep food. Both of them could see humans walking around doing different things . " be careful" Scott said to mog before both of them ,carefully began to search for food. 

The rats decided to avoid where most of the humsn were ,Scott could see two children talking to his surprise one of them didn't look human he wasn't sure what they were. The two rats quickly ran past them making sure two not get seen.

As Scott look behind to make sure the children didn't see him and mog ,he suddenly heard mog let a scream but it was quickly stopped by a paw covering his mouth. Scott turn toward around and then saw who grabbed mog. A familiar face.

It was Ratman
