Even if they run, there is no escape

Summary:

Basically I want more drama in the comic, so why should the danger be only in the ghost world?
So why not bring the ghosts into the real world, is schizophrenia starting to affect our beloved characters? Or has the portal opened completely?

Chapter Text

"We're almost there!" -Ashlyn shouted looking back at his group of friends, all tired and panting trying to get to the cemetery, definitely the plan to meet again at the nearest store was a very bad idea, they had all been chased by a great amount of ghosts and now that great horde of monsters was chasing them. When they were all inside he closed the gate, clinging to it along with the others as if it was going to fall down, some catching their breath trying to regulate their breathing while others tried not to vomit from exhaustion-.

"I think we were safer in our homes," Tyler muttered in annoyance, clinging to his twin's hand as if he was going to lose it at any moment.

"We had to join at any moment, better now than later" -Ashlyn spoke again, though she was silent in an instant looking above them seeing one of those grotesque shadows climbing, she grabbed the first one next to her, starting to run shouting at the others to get all of them into the first bus they saw. He knew the time was short, Logan had been timing him earlier, they had less than 5 minutes and they would be back to their world.

They had all hurried into the bus, staying as quiet as possible, trying even to keep their breathing quiet, though it was difficult since they were all so tired from running. Anyway, the ghost had seen them enter, so when they saw him get on next to them, they panicked completely. It was about to attack them when Logan's watch chimed, returning everything to normal and everyone to their respective beds.

~ 4 weeks later ~

The group was fed up with the same old routine, their days no longer lasted 24 hours, but 31 hours, all full of suffering. At the beginning they thought that this series of events was going to go away at some point, after the second week in which every day the same thing happened, they realized that it would not.

"I'm so tired, I feel like I'm getting crazier by the minute," Taylor mumbled during lunch, although how to blame her, they were all the same way some showing it more than others.

"I think I've already started to hallucinate with this whole situation, last night I thought I saw one next to Ben" -said Aiden with his typical smile, seeing his cousin looking at him pouting- "today the packages will be arriving with everything I bought, after school we should get together to start sorting everything out, because I don't want to have that stuff in my house".

"Fine, text us when you have it and come all to my house" -sighed Ashlyn after saying that while rubbing her tired face, when she looked back to the front where Logan and Tyler should have been sitting she gave a start grabbing the first thing she had in hand to defend herself. All that movement made everyone jump up and look at the same place as the girl, seeing nothing.

"Ash what's going on?" -slightly frowned Logan looking at the redhead as she went back to her place, she had scared everyone away, definitely.

"No I.. I'm tired nothing else, I think I'm hallucinating just like Aiden.." -he looked down at his high trembling hands and put aside the knife he had picked up when he was startled, he could have sworn he saw a Ghost between Logan and Tyler's heads, but he was probably imagining it, no one else saw it and neither of the two boys had felt anything touch them.

Before either could continue the conversation or ask Ashlyn if she was okay the school bell rang, implying that lunch was over and everyone was to return to class. They said their goodbyes since they had different subjects and each one separated knowing that after a couple of hours they would have to meet again.

Chapter Text

Each one went their own way after school, the twins and Logan on the one hand did not live near the school but close to each other so they preferred to leave together while Aiden, Ben and Ashlyn went by bus. As they were going as a group they knew they would always arrive at their homes, so the group chat was silent until a couple of hours later, the first message being from Aiden, advising that the package had arrived and they should meet at the redhead's house.

"It wasn't even two minutes after the message, I don't know how they can be here so fast" -Ashlyn said seeing the cousins in front of her door, Aiden with the typical smirk as usual.

"I might have sent it while we were on our way here, but that's not the point, we wanted to talk to the group about something important we discovered" -Aiden said as he walked in as if he owned the house, followed by Ben who waved to Ashlyn before passing, the girl's parents weren't there so he left the package in the middle of the living room as he sat down leaning his feet on the small table in the room

"Get your dirty feet off the table" -The redhead tapped her feet against the dyed blonde's heels before she started to go through the contents of the box- "Let's wait for the others to talk about it."

A few taps were heard on Ben's cell phone before a robotic voice chimed in- "We'd rather talk to you about this first, we don't want to say something that might be wrong and have the others start thinking negative thoughts."

The redhead looked up seeing both boys not understanding what was going on so she put things aside so they knew they had her full attention

"We don't know if we are going crazy from lack of sleep, but we are seeing a lot of those ghosts, Ben saw it today when he woke up, I saw it last night and I'm more than sure you saw it when we were in the cafeteria, it's a theory nothing more, but they keep staring at us and Ben is already a little worried" -Aiden looked at the girl, at some point her smile had disappeared but after making eye contact with Ashlyn she smiled again.

"Well, let's wait for the others to come and talk about it, possibly it's the tiredness we have but just in case we should talk about it between all of us. If any of us aren't seeing it it could just be sleep" -Ashlyn closed the box as she sat down on one of the couches, grabbing her cell phone to check the chat she hadn't realized how much they talked until noticing it was almost 25 minutes past Aiden's message so she called the guys to see if they were coming.

Pov Logan:

Feeling his cell phone start to ring he grabbed his glasses and answered the call, they got together almost every day to plan what they would do that night so the only chance he had to sleep was after they got out of school and before they got together.

"Taylor just woke up, we picked up Logan and we're going to your house" -Tyler's voice was heard over the cell phone speakers so she realized it was a video call since she didn't have to bring it close to her ear to hear the conversation.

"Looks like she wasn't the only one sleeping" -Aiden said laughing as he saw Logan's newly awake face. "I thought she was a vampire who didn't sleep, now I know why she has time to do all the work before class."

"I'll get ready quick and go" -the glasses one mumbled as he got up from his comfortable bed leaving the cell phone on the desk to start getting ready, listening to the conversation going on between the others explaining what they would be doing that night and something about an important conversation, a lot he wasn't paying attention since he knew they would talk about it again when they were at the redhead's house. "Tyler I'm already, do you want me to come to your house?" -He said as he grabbed the cell phone after a couple of minutes.

"Tay is already so wait for us outside" -he could hear a lot of movement on the other side so the only thing Logan did was to turn off the light in his bedroom to go out to the hallway, when he was about to say goodbye and cut the call he felt all the air in his lungs leave as he saw the end of the hallway, he must be dreaming that wasn't possible, there was a damn ghost looking at him from his grandparents' room with that typical and horrifying smile he still wasn't used to. He heard his friends calling him but it was like being in the water, their voices sounded far away and when he blinked perplexed begging for that thing to disappear as if it was his imagination he hit a scream when he saw it even closer and running towards him.

"Logan? Logan!" -the voices were mixed up, you could hardly identify who was saying it but it was more than obvious who they were calling.

"We're coming"-Taylor was heard to say between the screams of his friends and the weird sounds coming from Logan's side, from their point of view only a panicked looking Logan was seen and then pure darkness as the cell phone fell silent from his hands.

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Summary:

The chapter is a bit short, I didn't have the time or imagination to make it so long. JAJAJAJA

Chapter Text

Pov Tyler:

He had reacted almost instinctively grabbing his baseball bat as he heard Taylor behind him, both in a hurry going to Logan's house, he felt like those few blocks had been an eternity to cross, even with the bikes to get there faster, they didn't know what they were going to see when they got to the boy's house with glasses but they knew well it possibly wasn't anything nice.

When they arrived they entered the home as quickly as possible, he wasn't thinking so consciously, he didn't know if the door had been open before they arrived or he had broken it to get in, being in the living room he could only hear some banging upstairs but the vibe of the place felt so strange but it was getting to a point that was familiar.

"Logan!" -she yelled to find out where the boy was, starting to climb the stairs in front of her sister for whatever danger there was.

"The lights won't turn on" -He heard behind him as the girl tried to turn on the stair lights, as they walked down the long hallway where the rooms were, he saw Logan's cell phone on the floor so he grabbed it seeing his other friends who had followed in call. "We're here" -she announced as she watched her twin walk in front of her.

"Shit Logan"-Tyler sighed as he saw the boy near the window, it was a mess in the bedroom and it looked like the one with glasses had ripped off the blinds to let the afternoon light in through this one, he approached carefully seeing him small at one point as he was almost hugging himself-"What happened, what hurts?" -she knelt down in front of him to start checking him, putting aside her bat though seeing a scratch on his cheek and arm she became even more concerned-.

"W-what's wrong... How is it possible?" muttered Logan, he hadn't had that much time to defend himself, when the ghost was gone and he touched his face he realized he had a wound that clearly wasn't there before, he didn't understand how it was possible for that thing to really hurt him, when something similar happened to Ashley in Savannah the wound had remained only in the ghost world.

"Let's get out of here, let's go to the cemetery" -Tyler said low helping the opposite one to get up and when Taylor passed him a towel he started to clean the wound on his face being careful not to hurt him more- "Ben is going to fix you up" -he grabbed his bat again and whatever the one with glasses was going to need and they went downstairs, still alert not to see those things inside the house anymore. They tried to go as fast as possible, mainly so that the wounds would be taken care of and no one would notice that the boy was injured.
