I don't own House of Dragons.

Chapter 1

Rhea Royce

Lady Rhea is the wife of Prince Daemon Targaryen, the presumed heir of King Viserys I Targaryen, and the heir of Lord Yorbert Royce. However, by the ninth year of Viserys's reign, he and his wife had become estranged, with Rhea still living at Runestone and Daemon serving as captain of the City Watch of King's Landing. Daemon calls his wife his "bronze bitch" after the color of House Royce.

She scoffed. 'Yes, well. He is no prince charming either.'

In 97 AC, Prince Daemon Targaryen and Lady Rhea Royce, the heir to Runestone, were married by Queen Alysanne Targaryen. Daemon became disinterested in the Vale of Arryn despite the marriage being a good political match.

However, the Good Queen was like a second mother to Rhea as she would fly to Runestones to check how things happened between them.

When she saw not much progress as their marriage are like oil and water. They don't mix well.

Rhea and Daemon had no choice but to perform their martial bed in front of the good queen to make sure the deed was done.

Rhea shivers as she remembers how uncomfortable it was between them. But that one night gave a good result. She became pregnant right away. The court and all of the kingdoms cheered that there would be an heir to runestones and succession to the Iron Throne.

However, in Rhea's opinion, she wishes that they just burn away the ugly chair. I mean what was Aegon I was thinking?

Anyway, it was a long and hard nine moons. Her mood swings are worse and she can't eat anything she likes anymore.

The only food she could swallow was pomegranates. From drinks to simple snacks. It is funny that Queen Alysanne Targaryen mentioned, "Pomegranates are the very symbol of abundance and fertility. No doubt this son will sire many dragons." However, she did notice that the queen was in daze-like eyes and spoke calmly. "Cycle of life, death, and rebirth." Rhea noticed as she shivered at her tone.

'Cycle of life, death, and rebirth?'

Rhea tosses and turns at night. She couldn't help but fear the queen's words. It was as if she foretold of a prophecy. A prophecy of her child.

After her child was born happy and healthy. Instead of a boy, they gave birth to a daughter. Rhea dreaded to think she would have to perform her duty again to have a son. However, Queen Alysanne ordered no such thing.

She became a godmother to her daughter and named the child herself after being baptized in the light of the Sevens despite the Royce worshiping Old Gods.

Alysanne named her daughter Jaelasanne Targaryen.

Jaelasanne is a combination of Jaehaerys and Alysanne her grandsires. Queen Alysanne decreed a gift for her great-granddaughter.

Rhea recalled a gift that her daughter shall be held the title as Princess of Runestones and in line of successions to the throne.

It shocked everyone to the core, many councilors even tried to convince Jaehaerys not to allow his wife to her whims, but the queen stomped on her feet and glared at anyone who dares opposed her wish. And the king who loved his wife dearly did obey her wish this time.

Alysanne would visit them and sometimes stay in Runestones for more than a moon's time.

Rhea enjoyed the queen's presence as Daemon would try to avoid seeing his grandmother. Silverwing was often hunting on her own.

It seemed like the House of Royce is being largely favored by the Good Queen, Alysanne Targaryen herself.

Jaelasanne loved being with the queen. However, lessons in trying to show sewing skills are clearly lacking, her daughter would present her a favor if there were tourneys around.

Rhea is thankful for the queen. She heard rumors going around the kingdom that Queen Alysanne was extending kinship towards Rhea as she felt, she was to blame for this marriage.

Others said the Good Queen was quite thorough as Daemon refused to hold responsibilities to help Vale. Causing great disappointment to the old queen.

That is why it breaks her heart that when the good queen dies. She had to tell her daughter that her godmother couldn't play with her anymore. It resulted in tears and whimpering as her daughter cried. She felt poor health as if she felt her time of happiness ended.

Rhea was worried. If comes to worse, her daughter could die faster than the queen herself. Rhea could understand her daughter's pain, but she needed to be strong.

If her prayers were answered, former secretary of the queen's household, Owen Tudor who was once master of clothing to Alysanne Targaryen came forth to deliver her part of her household according to her will.

Amazingly Alysanne was quite a shrewd woman. She gave her daughter coins, beautiful fabrics, and her queen jewels to Jaelasanne as was decreed in her time of death.

Rhea could understand that coins and fabrics, but the queen's jewels were something out of the question.

Her daughter looked at the queen's jewels as if she recognized them and she smiled for the first time in a while.

"Granma…" Jaelasanne held the necklace of Alysanne and kissed it.

Rhea knew that Alysanne also knew that her daughter would have been heartbroken without the good queen.

Turns out years of being tutored under Septa Anne, she was a genius. Making fine fashion and drawing pictures for her dresses. She seemed like a sorceress to breeze through the stitches and make beautiful blankets, quilts, and dresses.

It was like she had skills like a seamstress.

Jaelasanne is good, but that was not only that.

Her daughter mastered all her lessons with Measter Hellwig which astonished the man.

Rhea nodded firmly. 'Yes, she dresses like a lady but thinks like a lord.' She became a proud mother of a progeny. There isn't one single bad thing despite being doted on and spoiled by Alysanne Targaryen. Her daughter is understanding and outspoken about everything.

Rhea knew her daughter's good heart as she wanted to provide orphanages and help the poor.

"Please, Lady Mother. You won't have to spend a single dragon! You could use mine if you have to." Her daughter pleads with Rhea. A child of six who eagerly wanted to build an orphanage for the child living on the roads.

"My daughter, I know you wanted to help them." She looked at her child. "But you understand that the world is a cold place and sometimes we cannot provide everything." Yes, it is. And while she believes that her child is naïve about how the way things are.

"Then what about our duty? Shouldn't that be part of it?" Looks like her daughter isn't going to let things go.

Then said unexpectedly. "At least let me write to Lady Jeyne Arryn and speak about it."

What?

Writing to lady Jeyne Arryn on building orphanages. Did Jael say that?

Looking at her eyes, she is determined to try anything.

My, my. How like Queen Alysanne.

Rhea sighs then concede. "I will allow that. After this, we shall see what happens."

She smiled and bowed her head. Then eagerly ran to her chambers to start writing a letter.

It took only three moons until final salvation came.

"My dear ladies of Runestones, I have read and looked at the plans for building this orphanage. I admit that this is a rather daring plan. Sadly I cannot provide you with the gold you need. However, I will allow working men to start helping you build this place such as the location of the map. If you could build it in less than a week then I shall pay for it myself. If not, you pay for it yourself.

Sighed, Lady Jeyne of House of Arryn, lady of Eyre and Wardeness of the Vale."

They have traveled to that location between Runestones and Eyrie. It was a location called the Mountains of the Moon. It was a dangerous task. There are mountain clans and shadowcats all around them.

However, her daughter is not afraid to do the impossible.

Rhea feared that location because mountain clans were lurking around that area. Why did Lady Jeyne allow them to come here?

She did not know how long it would take, but they did it.

They build not only the castle but also the foundation of orphanages. It was a grand castle and she was in awe of it.

Her daughter named it Castello Di Mezzaratta. Whatever that means her daughter explains Castle of Mezzaratta means Half an Hour.

However, her daughter spoke. "This will not be a mountain forever. Someday this will be part of a city where nobles were not overlords' commoners. Where commoners will rise as rich merchants who build this land with talents. I will help build that world once I gather enough talents."

Rhea looked at her daughter in awe. She realized her daughter was like her ancestor Aegon I Targaryen who conquered and built land to rule.

Lady Jeyne heard the news that her daughter succeeded in her task. As promised House of Royce won't spend a single coin as she will cover them. Jaelasanne then barged Lady Arryn once again to help her build a city.

Lady Jeyne eagerly agreed.

As so her daughter predicted. She gathered orphans and educated them as they built talents. Then few years later, after her castle was built. Everyone noticed the Godswoods were growing around them as it was a sign that they needed to return to the Old Gods.

She built a dome where septons would create chapels and religious practices of Old Gods. She called that a Cathedral instead. Inside where ceilings are beautiful paintings of heaven itself, and all watchers are watching over them. They made something beautiful and awe of this artwork. They created their priest and nuns for the Old Gods.

Oldtown felt threatened that another powerful religion had returned the Old Gods which they would overpower them. Many complained to Kingslandings, but nothing could be done for the king was a protector of all faiths not only the sevenths.

Jaelasanne even built walls strong enough and high to hold off any mountain clans' invaders.

The next thing Rhea realized cities were building around them, roads were forming from stones, and people from all other kingdoms wished to make coins or live better lives for themselves.

Her daughter renamed this land, "Florence."

Mountains of the Moon has a grand city to live in called Florence.

Rhea sighed at how long it had been. It has been years since Florence's influence spread all of the seven kingdoms. Jaelasanne passionate were the arts which she called the skills of the Renaissance.

They make art, learning, and architecture.

They even called her daughter only eleven named days old a patron of Florence itself.

The bards started singing of "Florence."

In the mountains high, I see a dream,

I will build a castle, rise above the stream.

A vision of Florence, where all men stand tall,

With Lady Jeyne's command, I must not fall.

A week to shape the stone,

For a miracle to unfold,

The Old Gods gave me a vision,

Of building a home for the lost is now found.

Oh Florence, a sanctuary of grace,

Where children gather, find their place.

No longer starving for love's embrace,

In this city, all hearts can race.

The Proud Lady Bronze gazes with pride,

In her eyes, my mother's love cannot hide.

No peace of mind until I give,

A shelter to the parentless, a chance to live.

With no noble lords to lend a hand,

I'll strive to make a stand,

The Old Gods gave me a vision,

Of building a home for the lost is now found.

Oh Florence, a sanctuary of grace,

Where children gather, find their place.

No longer starving for love's embrace,

In this city, all hearts can race.

In the mountains high, my heart will soar,

Building a castle, to open the door.

For every lost soul, love will abound,

In Florence, dear Florence, the lost is now found.

Rhea now looked at the raven she received. The King is eager to see his niece as Queen Aemma is due any time now. Perhaps, it is time to see her royal kin. After all, she can trust Ser Gerold to manage Runestones until they get back.

It is time for families to be united in blood. This is what Queen Alysanne wished to have before her death as the years had weakened the Targaryen power lately.

After all, her daughter just become a known player of the game and Rhea swore she would protect her daughter from them even raising her sword against the king.

To Kingslanding. The Viper pits await them.

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Chapter Text

I don't own House of Dragons.

Chapter 2

Now if you realize that Jaelasanne Targaryen doesn't exist.

You are right on the mark.

Yes, Jaelasanne Targaryen shouldn't even be born. After all, she came from another world. A world that is nothing like this.

Though you are wondering how she came here.

Well, she had died.

Past life

'Yes, I can finally start working the career of my dream!' A woman who just came back from the interview happily. She was super nervous. After all, she worked hard all her life. Her dad was once an army man who died in combat and her mom had to work three jobs to motivate herself and raise her family while her husband was on a world tour as an army doctor. She knew her mom had decided to get a job in order to distract herself from missing her husband too much and to focus on raising her kids.

'My mom once said, 'If you prepare for the worst part, it will hurt like hell. But once the worst part is over, then you use that hurt to push yourself through.' Her mom did cry and felt depressed while I worked to take care of the house and my little brothers so that she could comfort her mom at night when she was crying hard in secret.'

It was hard work, but now she has graduated from community college and transferred to art school. She can now pursue her goals. That is until what was supposed to be the best day of my life: I was hit by a runaway driver.

'No! I can't die…not until I tell mom I…got…the…job….' Her eyes turned blank as life was taken from her too early. She lost a lot of blood and tried to reach her cellphone to call her mom, but she could not. Not anymore.

There was darkness. Then I heard a voice.

"Come and bring forth the line of the Prince that was Promised."

I cried. I was loud and held in comfort. I realized that I was reborn into this new world.

That was it.

Lady Rhea wasn't kidding. They really brought the might of the House of Royce.

It looks like Lady Rhea is ready to show off that the house of Royce is a powerful banner in Vale. And they shall not be trifled by it.

She is nervous.

After all, she only thought of creating a place that reminded her of home. So she created Florence as she was born and raised there. She didn't think it was something to be brought to court. Her mother spoke seriously before leaving Runestones.

"My daughter, thanks to your patron in creating the city of Florence, people all over the seven kingdoms are there living without fear of status. You even brought our Old Gods followers into a powerful standing in their power to preach and spread their words. However, Kingslanding is far different from how you brought it up. They know you are no ordinary child. I am proud that you build something incredible that the world as never seen. You must caution yourself. Show them you are my daughter."

Soft whimpers made Jaelasanne Targaryen turn her gaze away from the city from afar. Inside of the carriage with her Septa Maria Theresia who raised all the Royce children all her life and considered Jaelasanne a great honor to tutelage under her. Along with them are her guard dogs.

Her two dogs are a medium-sized hound dog breed with a lean and athletic build, long legs, floppy ears, and a short, smooth coat of black and tan. Yes, she couldn't believe it either. She had found this world version of the American Foxhound whom she found in the mountains of Vale which she renamed as Valemen's Foxhound.

Yes, she championed herself with these newfound breeds she adopted from pups and is ordering breeding programs to create more of them for hunting. However, these two dogs are hers alone.

Guess what she named them. Romulus and Remus after the founders of Rome. In this case, she named them in honor of her own country of her old world.

Thinking back, you are probably wondering how a child of ten years old can build a city within a week.

Well in truth, due to outrageous rumors of the nobles and commoners, it took a week to build her city. She used this rumor as a legend someday. She got this idea from Toyotomi Hideyoshi's legend of building his castle for one night.

Flashback

She insisted on going with her lady mother to seek out the legendary gang called, "Bootstraps Brothers." Notorious rogue common foot soldiers who disobeyed orders from higher-ups and abandoned their station throughout the battle. Some say they refused to sacrifice their lives for the noblemen and others held their prejudice of status of them being commoners.

So, Jaelasanne decided to meet them in person. It was foolish, but it was a risk she was ready to take.

She enters as there are almost a hundred of their gang. Many of them are men who have seen better days during their winter times.

Their leader's name is Little John who is the younger brother, but he seems to be tall as a giant, and his big brother is named William whom everyone nicknames Bill Bootstraps hence, they called themselves Bootstraps Brothers. She recalled that they were like their daily days of Robin Hood except they robbed the corrupt and rich lords and gave their village enough gold to survive and would kill any messenger from high lords.

She couldn't blame them after all. She had heard all close guards over their reputation. She knows that they are popular among commoners, but lords who never had to fight to survive or starve without food called them villains.

"So, this princess of Runestones had graced us her present?" Bill Bootstraps gave a joke which his men laughed. She didn't let that bother her. After all, she is a grown woman in a child's body.

"I am sure you heard of what I am trying to do." She was cut off.

"About that pipe dream of yours. Heh. You little fool. Just cause you happened to be the Good Queen's favorite, and she gave you half of her goods doesn't mean you could just build it. You nobles are all alike. Thinking about the words from your mouth, then all we have to do is obey you like a dog." Bill spit on the ground. "Let me tell you. You nobles were given enough food to feed a whole village yet all we ever got was scraps that barely give us a full meal."

She looked slightly around and spoke, "What if you don't have to live here anymore?"

They grew quiet and curious got to them.

"I wished to build a city where commoners would not be shut out by all the injustice in the world. Where lords would not use their power and status to overlord them. I believe it is time to leave behind the dark ages and aim for a new modern world to move forward." She spoke firmly and looked at the Bootstraps Brothers in the eyes. She gained boldness from Alysanne Targaryen as she recalled her grandmother's words. 'My dear, hatchling. To be a true patron of the people you must not cower nor submit to their whim or else they will take advantage of you to take sides. You must teach those who have nothing to their name and help build talents rather than their status. After all, that is how you become the people's queen!'

'Good Queen Alysanne! Give me your strength and wisdom.' Jaelasanne thought as if she showed resolve in her eyes.

"I see that you are not a foolish man."

Bill Bootstrap looked at her and said, "How can you tell I am not a foolish man?"

"My grandsire Lord Yorbert Royce spoke, "A foolish man lives for himself. A wise man lives with a purpose."

She looked around. And said, "My city will be known as Florence. A place within Florence where children can feed their bellies but will gain new knowledge to rely on talents alone. It is a place where the past cannot stay in the present with us. It will be a place where Florence cannot go back to the past where nobles ruled and peasants bowed. It will become a republic that is building itself to greatness, not on the finery of its aristocrats, but on the talents of its people! Help me build that dream where anyone can become more than what the world tells them to be."

Flashback end

Jaelasanne looked at the markets and a few people. Though she saw a little corners where the slums are.

"What is there?"

Septa Maria Theresia gave a rather disgusting look. "Tis, Flea Bottom, my princess."

"Flea Bottom?"

"I am sure you heard of that place. A rather rife with poverty and crime. Poor things. Some are abandoned by their parents. Others rather chose to kill and steal to feed their hunger and roof over their heads." She shakes her head sorrowfully.

Jaelasanne spoke aloud. "And to think that their rats are fed better than the children on their streets." She looked on as she could tell that their part of their city was slowly decaying to be forgotten and in poor condition to live there. She closed the curtain. Jaelasanne is already thinking of a chance to start her charity, but she will need someone in a higher position to succeed in that.

Anyway, she had moved the Bootstraps Brothers and their small village to help create the Castle of Mezzaratta. It was hard work, but they were masters of stone makers and breakers. It took them many nights until Lady Jeyne would send her workers to come as it made it over one week despite it was still working progress but there was a success in them.

It was a complete success as they continued building and living in it. Now after that Lady Jeyne happily honored their agreement and paid for her workers to help build their Florence.

And it came to meet Lady Jeyne Arryn into building her city.

Flashback

"Presenting Princess Jaelasanne of House of Targaryen and her Lady mother Rhea ruler of House of Royce."

Jaelasanne dressed in a pretty black and red of her Targaryen heritage with bronze makings on her jewels.

"Be welcome my ladies of the House of Targaryen and Royce. I am greatly pleased with your new castle which I have no doubt will be part of our history." Lady Jeyne was beautiful as they said and Jaelasanne knew she must make use as she knew that Jeyne needs powerful allies than enemies.

"Then may I propose another plan if you don't mind."

Lady Jeyne looked confused and spoke, "But won't you just finish your work? After all, you build a castle within a week, so the people speak as if it is a legend."

Jaelasanne smiled and looked confident.

"My work has just begun."

Flashback ended

The carriage stopped as Jaelasanne saw that courtyard and saw a few courtiers strolling around.

Well, it is time to start the show.

But can she survive this Game of Thrones?

Even if no one believes that she has any interest in playing this game.

Chapter 3

Jaelasanne walked into the Iron Throne room as many courtiers were waiting for their arrival. She knows that she made quite outrageous changes.

Those idealists can easily be deemed as heretics, optimists, or mad.

In other words, they don't want her to crash their status quo!

'Just thinking about it!' A small sneer and angry eyes looked upon Jaelasanne behind her blank look. Just thinking about this man's world makes her tick off! Who's to say women are meant to serve men?

In her opinion, everyone served God first before man. That was how she was back in her old life. Her mama taught her that God made women too strong to endure and fight to protect their families.

"Come forth, Lady Rhea of the house of Royce, Lady Ruler of Runestones and Princess consort of Prince Daemon Targaryen! Jaelasanne of House of Targaryen and Royce. Princess and heir to Runestones!" The steward called out for their house.

She stood and walked forward with her Septa and party, and her household had come forward.

This will be the battle of a lifetime.

Rhea Royce

She had dressed herself in the finest trousers like a man, which her daughter insisted made her mother look more like a lord than anyone.

Which is true since all the other women in court squealed and blushed at Lady Rhea with her finest clothing as if she were born a man.

Which made Rhea feel more powerful as she dressed in her navy color and bronze designs of her…What did her daughter call it? Oh yes, a doublet. It comes with a hat. Her bottom made it look like a skirt that has pants underneath. Her footwear looked nice and fitted for her horse riding and running.

When her daughter showed the clothing she had made, her mother wore it before coming here to change and get ready. Her daughter's eyes were all stars and awe at her, which made Rhea feel flustered, and her household couldn't help but be awed at the new clothing.

And her daughter dressed in dark red and bronze designs. She has a headdress to pull her hair away from her face and golden cuffs on her wrist sleeves.

They went and greeted King Viserys and his queen consort, Aemma Arryn.

King Viserys is well…a rather jolly man. It was said that it was the nicest way to say goodbye to her brother.

But being king is not a good sign to have.

Rhea had known he was more of a people pleaser and not into conflict with the fear of his previous predecessors like Aegon I, Aenys, and Maegor the Cruel, hence why King Jaehaerys pushed the matters' ideals of keeping the peace and protecting the realm at all costs.

'But I'm sure that King Jaehaerys doesn't mean you should be blind and ignore the faults to excuse you from creating conflicts.' In Rhea's opinion, they don't understand that the more you ignore the problems of conflict, the easier it is to indicate the anger of the subjects of your realm.

"Welcome!" Viserys always broke protocol of walking down from his throne and gave Rhea a sudden hug, which she stiffened and awkwardly patted his back.

"You grace." She replied to her king.

"Oh, enough of that!" He waved it off and insisted, "We are family. I'm your good brother and you're my good sister."

Viserys then noticed the clothing upon herself. "My! Such a dashing outfit you are wearing. I would've have mistaken you for a man, but when my queen pointed out to me that tis you. Hahaha! How embarrassed I was! Worry that a handsome, gentle lord comes to my court and might start an issue of women wanting your favor! Guess, shame on I for not insisting on visiting you on Runestones!" Viserys laughed jolly good. But he didn't lie. When he saw their clothing, it was the most wonderful clothing he had ever seen. And Rhea looked most promising, better than any dresses and what ladies would wear.

But he must say that Lady Rhea glows more radiantly than all the people in court.

Rhea gave a bow and said, "That is the finest compliment I have ever received from my dear brother, the king." And she spoke true.

Rhea then introduced her daughter, "May I present my daughter and your niece, Jaelasanne, princess of Runestones?"

Her daughter came forward. Well, almost glide across the floor and curtsy before the king.

Viserys then applauded to her darling girl. "Bravo! Bravo, my dear niece!" He lifted her up like any father to a daughter. "My such beauty! Yet I see firmly iron steel like my dear mother, Princess Alyssa Targaryen! Hahaha!"

Jaelasanne laughed with Viserys. It warms her heart to see her act like a child. Ever since the Good Queen died, her daughter's childhood happiness and blissful days were snuffed out like a small flame from the candlestick.

He held her and announced, "Come! We feast on the glorious day that Florence is the grandest city of the Vale!"

The court cheered, and some more begrudgingly applauded her daughter. No doubt, a few from devout Sevenths and new gods.

The people are mingling around, and their party of the House of Royce had the honor to sit next to the royal families. They held an outside feast and enjoyed their talks among themselves.

Viserys insisted that Jaelasanne meet and greet his daughter Rheanyra. The girl is quite adorable. She has long curls of Valyrian color, chubby cheeks of baby fat, and is wearing a red and black dress of the house of Targaryen.

Jaelasanne is tall compared to Rhaenyra's small figure. I mean, after all, she was born when the Good Queen Alysanne had passed away when she was five. Plus, she was born five months earlier than Rhaenyra Targaryen was. Although, both her parents were tall people. Rhea recalled that her grandmother was taller than her husband years ago.

Two children stare at each other.

Rhea hopes that the girls could at least get along. Although…

'Deamon seemed to treat Rhaenyra as his favorite child while I raised her as both mother and father to our daughter.'

Rhaenyra, being a self-entitled princess, sniffed at her daughter. "She came from sheep and no doubt not a true dragon at all."

Oh, this brat!

Rhea gave an almost deadpanned glare at her niece for those words. No doubt, Daemon filled his niece with poor ideas about how to treat people from Vale.

Her daughter was no pushover as she sarcastically spoke, "My what honor to hear from the Realm's Delight! But I guess it's true what the court says, 'That no one is that delighted to see the princess at all.'"

That earned quite a shock that caused a few to choke on their drinks and gasp at her daughter's words.

That gave the princess an angry pout, then one thing led to another.

A fight goes on between the girls.

Screams and shouts were cried out by two girls. The punches and bites were involved in the fight.

"Rhaenyra!" Both King and Queen cried out as the children tumbled in dirt and wrestled each other into a childish fight.

"Jaelasanne!" Se Gerold and Rhea cried out to Jaelasanne's name, too.

It was not a good first impression on the two girls. They try to separate these girls, which earns quite a scandal in court and history. Rhea dreaded the thought of how this might end.

History passage: At the first summons in court by King Viserys I of the House of Targaryen and King of the Seven Kingdoms, he had failed in his plan to mend the bridges. Rhaenyra, the only living child of King Viserys and his queen consort Aemma from the House of Arryn, was spoiled heavily by her parents, and her uncle Daemon indulged her with everything without thinking of consequences. Hence, she was the only Realm's Delight in her youth.

Jaelasanne Tagryen was born to be her mother's only heir to Runestones and heavily favored by the Good Queen Alysanne, yet her father, Daemon, held no part of her upbringing. She grew up with privilege and was raised in love and spoiled, yet she was always a serious child. She was a deep thinker to everyone who met her. She wanted to be someone not to be ignored nor overshadowed by her predecessors. Hence, she was the first to build Florence and became a patron of the city and an Old Gods devotee as she made things impossible. In Vale and Runestones, she was the Bronze Fire that could light a way out of the darkness into the place where they feel safe, like home.

Two girls who couldn't have been more different, yet they have personalities that seemed to clash if put in the same room.

And thus, they have their first fight between two girls.

They were like cats and dogs.

Many suggested Princess Rhaenyra is like a feline. A cat, if you will, who doesn't like doing what she is told and does what she pleases without caring about her consequences.

And Jaelasanne is like a dog who is known to do her work with complaint and is loyal to the fault of her duty. She also shows gentleness and kindness to those she loves.

Hence why, they don't get along as children when it comes to one's duty to the people and one's duty to their kingdoms.

All they could say was that the girls held more fire not to allow them to withdraw their passion and rights. But the question is this: Will the fire burn you, or will you allow yourself not to be consumed by it?

Rhaenyra Targaryen

Rhaenyra Targaryen, cheered as the Realm's Delight when she was young, was the firstborn child of King Viserys I Targaryen. Rhaenyra was King Viserys I's only living child by his first wife, Queen Aemma of House Arryn.

She pouted in anger, and she steamed over the unfairness she had received. She was scolded by her parents and lectured on what she had done. She is sitting on her bed as they both said: Stay here and think about what you have done.

Now she is being punished by staying in her chambers until she feels remorseful about what she did.

'Hmph! As if I apologize for what I said.' Rhaenyra says nothing wrong. Uncle Daemon said it all the time, yet he wasn't punished for what he said.

It wasn't fair! She pouted harder again.

She won't lie. Her cousin seemed to have more backbone and wouldn't hesitate to tongue-lash her. And her father even praised her cousin in court.

Tears started in the corners of her eyes as she quickly wiped them off. She didn't want to admit it. In truth, she was being petty and jealous of her cousin.

She and her cousin are of the same age, yet there is a difference between them.

Her cousin built something like Aegon I had built his kingdom. She became the patron and lady of the new city of Florence. And everyone in court made a few praises, and some noticed her as having a good head on her shoulders. And Rhaenyra was only praised as the only daughter of the king and queen and dragonrider of Syrax. Yet it felt, compared to Jaelasanne's work, it meant nothing at all.

Now she thought about it calmly. She realized that it was a stupid fight in the beginning.

'Jaelasanne did nothing wrong,' Rhaenyra thought to herself. Yes, she started it first, but Jaelasanne did nothing wrong in retaliation against her. Now she felt bad for what she had done. If she talked to Jaelasanne, they could be more than friends. They could be sisters, even better.

With a newfound resolution, the princess decided that she should apologize for what she said and did.

She went and checked if any guards were there. Seeing as no one is there. She quickly left and went to search for the House of Royce. It took a while for her to search for her cousin.

In the yard where knights are trained, Rhaenyra had a feeling that something was going on.

She saw her cousin standing still, being beaten with wooden swords on her body. She gasped at the bruises and was beaten by the whacks of four men.

And the one who ordered it is…

Rhea Royce, who stood firm with a blank expression at the punishment. Ser Gerold tries to protest, "Cousin, she is only a child. It is no more than a scuffle between children." Ser Gerold looked at the scene as he didn't want the child to suffer.

Rhea was firm. "If she wished to make it right. My daughter insisted that she can take any punishment for my sake and that the house she has is a disgrace."

Rhaenyra gasped, and tears fell. Ooh! Why? Why?! Did she not think about the consequences that she might bring?!

She looked at Jaelasanne, who looked straight at her lady mother and endured their whacks and beating from her knights. She winced from pain but endured with such strength. She wears her clothing from her training for swords back in Runestone. Yet she could tell from the heat from the sun and sweat that Jaelasanne was almost ready to suffer from heat stroke. She heard older men die from such a thing.

She can't allow her cousin to suffer for what she has done!

Rhaenyra came running towards it. "No!"

They all turned shocked when the princess appeared. She quickly shielded her cousin with her own body, which one knight ordered, "HALT! Desist the punishment!"

All three knights paused their whacking and halted at the command.

Rhaenyra cried and begged Lady Rhea. "Mercy! Mercy! It's not my cousin's fault!" Everyone in court grew quiet and paused at the action of the princess.

Quickly seeing the commotion, Rhaenyra ran towards Rhea Royce and knelt before her lady aunt. "Ooh~! Please forgive your daughter. Tis not her fault! I'm the one who's bad!" Rhaenyra tearfully pleaded to Rhea for her cousin to be spared!

"It is I, Rhaenyra, who is to blame for my selfish whims!" Rhaenyra turns to her cousin, "Don't fear, sister! Lady Rhea is a good and just lord of Runestones! Ah! The thought of you suffering like this! You are not guilty of any wrongdoing! Please!"

The crowd and courtiers muttered as the princess felt guilty for what had happened between them.

A voice is heard. "Well said, my daughter!"

King Viserys came down as he heard a commotion and was about to stop his good sister from punishing his niece. Yet here, his daughter, Rhaenyra, admits her wrongdoings and decides to protect her cousin at the cost of her life. He is more than pleased as all was not lost in kinships.

King Viserys looked at his good sister and said, "Well, my daughter insisted that she is to blame for mishaps. Perhaps, we should allow that this incident had never happened."

Rhaenyra tearfully looked at her father, then Lady Rhea, who looked like she could breathe again. Why? Why does her lady aunt look like she is relieved? She doesn't understand that if she didn't want to punish her daughter, yet why she still did it?

"Very well," Rhea spoke and said, "Since the princess is so insistent that the fault is hers. I suppose we shall let this incident go. After all, we are family, and the girls will have time to grow together."

Rhaenyra smiled as she spared her cousin. Speaking of her cousin, Jaelasanne sighed in relief and then collapsed to the ground.

"Ohhh!"

"Please take her to get the Measter!"

Everyone gathered around Jaelasanne Targaryen to return to her chambers and rest up.

Later that evening…

Jaelasanne is treated and laid in bed. Rhaenyra stood by her side, looking at her cousin. Rhaenyra is determined to stand by her cousin as she becomes the most important person in her life. What event can easily make Rhaenyra realize that action has consequences, by the deeds done by her at the price of her loved ones?

And what she didn't realize was that thanks to Rhaenyra's intervention on her behalf, she would pay the price.

Jaelasanne will now know that she will do everything he can to save the queen and the babe within her womb.

After all, she owes the debt to her cousin.
