Chapter Text
Standing in an unfamiliar alley, their team looks around in mild befuddlement. Kon raises an eyebrow. "At least it wasn't an explosion type of bomb."
Cassie elbows his side in annoyance, "Yeah, but we didn't know that."
They pointedly ignore that if that had been the case, their team would've been dead in one go.
Right then Bart appears back with them and reports, "Thisisn'tourTokyo. Almost everyone's a meta, there's weird heroes everywhere, and no mention of anything about the Justice League."
Tim nods like he expected that. "Dimensional travel," He says. They all nod sagely in agreement. This isn't the first time that Young Justice has dealt with this and it certainly won't be the last.
"So, what do we do?" Cassie looks straight at Tim. Of them all, he's their first option to find a way home. If the usual fails, then it's everyone else's turn to use their skills.
The Bat in question says, "We need civilian clothes, scout all the info that we need, and depending on our resources, we start on our way back home or search for a temporary home base." This should be rather easy.
*****
"Why?" Bart whines two weeks later. Seriously, why does he have to go through this when his friends would be just as good at going undercover. ... alright, maybe that's a lie, but still! He's not suited for this either!
Tim doesn't even look up from his computer when he answers, "Because you're the only one who looks and actually is 15."
Bart turns to Cassie, eyes pleading because she can't let his Queen do that to him. But Cassie just looks away guilty.
His face falls. "Seriously?!"
Doesn't this go against her need to defend them? The Ivanhoe sighs and opens her arms. While he is still unhappy, he speeds forward and curls himself into the hug.
"I'm sorry," Cassie says, "But Tim is right. You're the only one that we can sneak into U.A."
Groaning, the speedster hides his face against her collarbone. He complains, "Yeah, but I don't wanna go to school again. It's booooring. Hero school is stupid. What am I even gonna do spending all of my time there?"
Against his will, a hint of real fear slips into his words and he's pretty sure none of them are going to ignore it. True to form, Tim turns around to look at him.
Whatever the Queen sees when he looks at him, it has Tim softening the look in his eyes and explain, "We don't have the access that it takes to get the info on how to search for a way home. Not without putting ourselves on a most wanted list. Not only is U.A. the only public school with semi-political sway, but All Might himself is joining the school this year. We need someone on the inside who can sneak out as much information as possible."
And he understands that. He does. Bart knows very well how detrimental good information is in their line of work, but that doesn't mean that he likes being away from his colony for that long. Especially when no-one knows how long they'll be stuck in this unfamiliar world. His arms tighten around Cassie.
Before either can say more, the front door opens and Kon walks in with a backpack full of junk.
"In my opinion," Kon continues their conversation - because of course he listened in - "We should all go."
Bart loves the idea, but the Queen already shakes his head. "Even if we tried, not only aren't we sure about the kinds of quirks they could use in check-ups, but we don't match the physical description enough to fit in-" "You have a babyface," Kon interrupts. Tim glares and pointedly finishes, "With too many scars to explain."
The Godiva sighs and hands him the backpack without more protests. It's the fatal flaw of being fully human. The Bats are hyper-competent and could take down some of the biggest threats in the galaxy, but at the end of the day, they suffer the consequences of those choices. They don't get the luxury of having their history erased from their skin. But Bart does.
His arms tighten again and Cassie responds in kind. Then, he takes a step back.
"I'll do it," Bart agrees. It's his job to provide whatever resources that they need and if that means gathering information at a weird school in another dimension, then he'll do it.
Tim gives him a sharp nod and turns back to the computer, but Kon wears a rueful smile. The clone walks up to him and clasps his shoulder while he searches his eyes.
"You know that we'll see each other every evening to morning right?" He asks. "We're not getting separated for anything in the world. It's just going to be like any other day outside of that."
Bart already knew that, but hearing it from his Godiva, the one who mother hens everyone, lifts a weight off his shoulder. Tilting his chin up, he demands, "I want homemade lunch every day."
Kon snickers. Two strong arms slide around him from behind and push him against a comforting chest. A very soft chest. Is Cassie aware that when she pushes her boobs against them, they sometimes internally blue screen? Because if she does, she either ignores it or if she doesn't, it explains the frequency.
Her laugh rings behind him and against his neck. The breath tickling down his back has has the hair on his skin stand up. Kon, the bastard, notices and grins. Bart kicks him too fast to see, enjoying the wince, but gets weary when the evil grin returns tenfold.
"Actually," Kon leads on, "Wouldn't it be best if his high school self had a bit more established relationships."
The speedster tenses up in suspicion. It's very clear that there's an underlying motive and Bart hopes with all his mind that the clone doesn't try to mess with something that he doesn't want messed with, or else the Godiva's favorite pair of sunglasses are going to go missing.
Tim perks up. "What kind do you have in mind?"
Kon looks Bart straight in the eye as he says, "A girlfriend."
A lot of sunglasses are going to go missing in the next few months. And all of them will be his doing.
Behind him, Cassie freezes and then relaxes. "I can do that," She volunteers. As if it was that easy to fake date him. They are best friends, but still.
Tim visibly thinks it through and concludes, "That's perfect." And so that's that.
*****
"I can't believe that we're pretending I failed as a model," Kon complains as he fiddles with his sunglasses. In Bart's opinion, he should be grateful that he paused his revenge plans for their mission.
Bart wrinkles his nose. "I can't believe that you ever were a model. What's so special 'bout you?"
The clone gapes in offence, "Wha- You don't- I'm the Superboy!"
The speedster shrugs. "So?"
"So?" Kon repeats aggravated. "That means I've got the face and body that model agencies can only dream about."
Sniffing, Bart replies, "It's not that impressive."
Just as they start gearing up for an argument, Cassie comes walking in with two thick bags in her arms. She raises an eyebrow at them but says, "I have the clothes ready to go."
Kon nods carelessly. "We're just waiting for-"
He never gets to finish his sentence because Tim walks in looking entirely different.
Blinking furiously, Bart blurts out, "You'regonnabeagirl?"
Because that's the only thing that his disguise can mean. Long brown hair in a ponytail, a white turtleneck that shows the shape of fake boobs, and loose pants all accentuate the feminine figure. Actually, it's surprisingly familiar.
"Caroline Hill will put a firm gap between my two identities," Tim reasons. Because why wouldn't this be a Bat-tactic?
"That's cool," Bart simply says. Not that anyone would know who Tim is, but whatever.
Glancing around, Cassie doesn't seem fazed, so she knew about this already. From her look, she's disappointed that they're the ones who didn't know. But Kon is openly staring.
Seeing his chance at revenge, Bart tells the Queen, "That's nice. Since you're playing a girl, Caro can date Kon without scrutiny and then we'll just be two couples taking a year abroad in Japan."
He almost stumbles over the word 'couple', but holds strong.
Kon opens and closes his mouth without words while he gradually gets redder from embarrassment. May he suffer.
On the other hand, Tim concludes that, "This would solidify why we are traveling as a group."
Turning to Kon, he asks, "Is that okay with you?"
Hah! As if the Godiva could say no to their Queen. Bart would deck Kon hard enough to hurt himself for days and not regret a single minute of pain.
Finally, the clone gives in and says, "Alright."
The smile on Tim's face is blinding.
"I'll adjust our timeline, but we're good to go," Their Queen states. Holding out his arms, he orders, "To Kansas."
Bart speeds forward to put him into a princess carry, and then he runs.
Faster than the fastest Quirk recorded, he gets them to the borders of a town in Kansas in less than a second. 0.7829 seconds to be exact, because he had to dodge a few weird islands that didn't exist in their world. He repeats the trip with the two others.
Then they're standing together on the other side of a planet not their own.
Not wasting any time, Tim orders, "We're doing selfies."
*****
Bart groans into his cushion. He spent the whole day bringing them from place to place while everyone had been following Tim's ruthless dress-up and location schedule. Lots of "This building was renovated two years ago," "They didn't sell that shirt yet," and "No, editing doesn't mean anything if the photo is bad from the beginning." All of that made him so hungry.
A hand lands on his back and rubs circles on it. Cassie, his only savior on his forsaken earth, says, "I have chocolate balls if you want them."
Snapping his head around, he demands, "Gimme."
Smug smirk on her lips, the Ivanhoe hands him the XL bag full of sugar. The speedster munches down the delicious food. It's not enough, they're still figuring out where in Japan they make food dense enough to fill him, but it sates the part of his stomach that tries to digest itself.
The rest of the night is spent sleeping between Kon and Cassie, letting themselves rest from the tyranny of a Bat-level strict schedule.
"Did you sleep at all," Is what Bart wakes up to. Blinking the sleep out of his eyes, he glances at Cassie's exasperated frown, then turns his head over to the two others. Tim looks entirely at ease for someone who hasn't slept.
"No. But far more importantly," the Queen pulls out a staple of cards. "I finished our identities. Bartholomew Allen, Cassandra Sandsmark, Conner Kent, and Caroline Hill now have an established life that dates back to their births and is secure enough that you'd have to question the people involved to disprove it."
Hey, everyone's name outside of him starts with a C. Squinting at the window and finding it still black, Bart decides that it's too early for any of this.
"Woohoo," He half-heartedly cheers. Then he taps into the Speed Force to grab Tim and bring him onto the bed and drags Kon right beside him.
Stepping back into time, he throws an arm around his Queen and demands, "Now sleep."
There are multiple snorts around him, but he blissfully slips back into the land of dreams. They can fuss about the details tomorrow.

Chapter Text
Standing in front of the giant gate, Bart regrets doing this already. People drop off their family members, and teens walk up through the entrance while chatting in excitement, but all he feels is dread. He doesn't want to be here.
Bart would seriously consider running away if there wasn't a hand on his back, holding him still through TTK. It would just be a short run. Just to be sure he's not stuck in there.
"Let's do a selfie," Tim tells them with a simper. Looking over, Bart realizes that he's serious about it. Sipping his boba in full disguise, he truly looks like a college girl with nothing better to do.
Cassie sighs. "We're supposed to encourage him against his jitters, Caroline."
Checking her hips, Tim answers, "Well, Cassandra, he has nothing to be worried about because in the worst-case scenario, we just apply to another hero school."
That's a lie. The whole point is that they need U.A. specifically. But Bart hears the underlying message. If this fails, they have other ways to try and get home. Mustering up his courage, he makes a grin spread over his face. "Let's do it."
Cassie looks over questioningly but stands back with a sigh.
"Great," Kon announces with flourish, "I'm glad that we're finally moving on with this show." The audacity. As if the Godiva wasn't fretting the whole morning.
They cluster together and take their selfies with the U.A. arch behind them. A surprised shout makes them turn around. They see the commotion coming from a green-haired boy who is floating and talking to an apologetic girl.
Kon tilts his head for a moment, then snorts.
"He just tripped," he whispers under his breath. Right. It's going to take a while to get used to everyone around being a meta. Having a quirk. Bart wrinkles his nose. Who even came up with that name?
Tim turns a foxy smile towards them and says, "It's time to move on."
His breath hitches, but the Arcadia forces himself to nod. This is by far one of the easier missions that he's been on; there's no reason to be nervous. Still, Tim's smile turns into a Tim smile, not whatever persona he's playing.
Taking him into a hug, the Queen whispers, "We're just a shout away."
Bart returns the squeeze. The other two draw themselves around them, clutching them into one big friendship pile. As they let go, he steels himself to give his best shot.
"I'm going," Bart tells them. Probably to himself too. With wide grins, they send him off with "Bye"s and "Good luck"s. He crosses the gate.
*****
"WELCOME TO TODAY'S LIVE PERFORMANCE ON THE ENTRANCE EXAM! EVERYBODY SAY HEY!" The announcer calls into the conference room.
Nobody says anything, probably wanting this day to get over with after having just done the written part of the test. If Bart were in a better mood, he'd have matched the energy.
The announcer goes on to explain the exam, which would be easier to concentrate on if someone a few rows further stopped muttering. At least Tim's muttering tries to help them. Bart sniffs. He'd even take Kon's bragging right now. But sadly, none of this happens, and he instead learns that they are fighting robots and that they give different amounts of points.
That's smart; villains use robot armies all the time. But it sucks for those who aren't built for this kind of opponent. If Cissie were here, she'd throw a fit. This thing is similar to simulation training, but Bart has no idea how that could help to decide who can join a hero school.
Someone calls out, "May I ask a question?" That's when he realizes that only three of the four robots on the pamphlet were talked about. He just thought it was for aesthetics. Then the boy turns around to tell the muttering person to shut up, and Bart mentally sends his thanks. His attention span was already shot before the low-key dictionary read got spouted into the room. The announcer goes on to explain that the last one gives 0 points and is basically a stage gimmick.
From his two years of Young Justice, Bart knows for a fact that villains have a tendency to change the rules on how to beat them whenever someone new appears, so the solution is almost never going to be as easy as smashing every robot in the way. Except in Metropolis. Metropolis villains love robots.
Abruptly, everyone in the room yells, "PLUS ULTRA!!!"
Bart jolts in surprise. Glancing around, he realized that everyone is sporting a hyped-up look of determination. Did he just zone out the motivational speech? Dang. At least the introduction is over.
*****
Standing in front of the giant fake city, Bart can't help but wonder if U.A. is richer than Batman. Because Batman never built them a fake city, forget about five. Actually, he did pay to make the Watchtower in space, so maybe he just had other priorities. But still. Maybe Tim will buy them a fake city. Cassie would never agree, but maybe if he bugs Kon, they can make it happen.
Someone yells out, "This is going to be a piece of cake!" For a moment Bart looks over, but it's just another guy who flaunts his quirk. Hammer hands? Maybe that'll help.
Rolling his shoulders without dislodging the sports bag that Tim told him to take along, he wonders if his t-shirt is going to get destroyed.
The speakers squeak, then the announcer says, "And... begin!"
Bart doesn't have to be told twice and immediately taps into the Speed Force to run straight into the city. Despite doing the equivalent of a speedster jogging, it's still enough to bring gravity and velocity on his side.
Hooking his elbows, Bart tears off the closest robot's head and goes on to the next in his line of sight.
"What's wrong?" The speakers ask, "The test has started. Start running!" With that, a roar of chaos roars up behind him.
Looking back at the scrambling crowd, he realizes that the others probably need to destroy robots too to pass. But Bart needs to get in. Running through his options, he decides that he'll just start from the other side and work his way back.
Plan set, the speedster runs round the city to the other side at only 200 km/h - be proud, Tim, because that's such a waste of time - and goes hooking off more robots before they even realize that he's there. They really didn't think this through when they made them inactive before they noticed someone.
When he has cleared a street, Bart takes a break. That was the plan. Tim said to be good at the task but to take breaks.
He pulls off the sports bag and takes a peek inside, then lights up in happiness. Snacks. Chips, granola bars, and a few sandwiches. None of his judgment was fair; this is the best exam he has ever had to go through.
A yell has him stop mid-bite.
Speeding forward, Bart finds another participant who has fallen to the ground but has tripped up a robot and is about to be crushed. Even at a 1'000th of his speed, it only takes a few moments to get them out of the way.
Carrying them a few paces further down, he asks, "You alright?"
They make a confused noise, and he curses himself for forgetting the language. He repeats it in Japanese. Turns out that they hurt their leg painfully and don't know how bad the damage is.
Bart nods and speeds back to the starting line. Looking around for a teacher, he notices that there is a medical tent.
Going up to them, he says, "Leg got hurt, possibly fractured, but I've seen no signs of a break."
The old woman in the doctor's coat and cool open helmet blinks at him in surprise. Then she smiles and tells him, "Could you please put him on the stretcher, dearie?"
Bart puts them down, then rushes to tell her, "Igottago, thanks!" Just as fast, he's back in the city.
The rest of the exam goes by in the same fashion. Taking out a lane of robots, snacking, seeing someone doing something stupid, and transporting them out of harm's way.
That's when the ground starts shaking. Loud groaning of metal and the sound of crumbling gravel are something that he has long since become familiar with. It looks like they threw in a property destruction type. Damnit. Bart really hopes that they're not supposed to keep their surroundings from being damaged, because that has never been his team's strong suit. Neither is it Superman's, but nobody talks about that.
Running towards the danger is easy since it's at the center of the city where the smoke and panicked screams come from. As he gets closer, it's clear that none of the teens have any idea how to deal with a situation where the threat is vastly greater than them.
Like it's everyone for themselves, they run away in total chaos and block each other the way. Some collide together, while the most rational ones keep away from the others. A distressed civilian response. Even from just a glance, he can see that some of the participants are getting hurt by accident. This isn't about the exam anymore; this has just become an actual danger zone.
Despite how he wants to let go, Bart keeps himself in the limited 300 km/h and runs through the crowd towards those closest to the massive robot. First, he gets those people too close to the destruction site. With the buildings crumbling, they can't stay there, so he brings them three blocks further away.
With those in immediate need taken care of, Bart turns to the injured. Those hurt on the ground take priority and are brought to the medical tent at the entrance. Then come those who are wounded but running on pure adrenaline. Those are taken to the entrance of the city, where they have a view of the tent but are far away enough that they don't hurt someone by accident.
For a moment, Bart considers if tripping the giant robot into a building would deduct points. That's when the speaker yells out, "THE EXAM IS OVER!"
Bart lets go of a breath that he didn't know he was holding. It's over. All at once, he feels rather embarrassed at how seriously he was taking this. It was just a test; why was he all worked up over this? They just mimicked what could happen in an actual mission with people stupid enough to make it a hazard.
Stomping down the mortification, Bart takes out his sandwich and finishes his snacks. It shouldn't be too much to hope that Tim doesn't hack into the school, right? Because a technology quirk could catch him. That's too risky.
Wallowing in his dilemma while eating, Bart doesn't notice all of the attention that he has gained.
Notes:
- Is Bart very moody? Yes, but my boy is getting separated from his favorite people so that he can go to school for something he's already been doing for years. I believe he deserves it.
- I'm vaguely sticking to MHA Canon and branching out however I see it going. So there's some Canon you'll recognize if you've seen/read the anime.
- People, when I beg you to tell me if I write weird things, I mean it. So please tell me how I go back to the first chapter and find the sentence "everyone had been following Tim's ruthless dress-up and *lactation* schedule." Wtf???? I have never made a more embarrassing typo in my life. I've also been laughing about it for five minutes straight, but still.
Shout-out to Ihasa (Ihasafandom), who at this point is just my grammar check commenter. Thanks Ihasa ❤️
(And everyone else who has chimed in, you've all been upping the quality of my fics by yourselves 💖)
Chapter 3
Notes:
Please note that I'm making up most of how the exchange programs work, and that Japan would glare down at Young Justice for being a bunch of minors under 20.
A lot of you have given awesome suggestions for this fic that I didn't even think of but am definitely considering now! Thank you so much!!!

Chapter Text
Sitting in the teacher's room, Aizawa looks over his freshmen dossiers. The one who interests him the most is the one that has caught the entire staff's attention. Bartholomew Allen.
An American foreigner who's taking a year abroad with the open possibility to extend that stay. The second exchange student they have this year along with Pony Tsunotori of class 1-B. He is currently cohabiting with fellow American friends, who have been given temporary guardianship during their foreign stay. The boy has shown incomparable calm and technique during the entrance exam. Not only in taking out the robots, but also in helping other students out of danger and getting the injured medical attention. Even when his nerves started to visibly pick up with the appearance of the zero pointer, that calculated calm was still there.
The boy has experience. No-one who hasn't been practicing over a longer period of time can apply this kind of precise triage during an unexpected high-stress situation. Even with a speed quirk that easily outperforms the Iidas, inexperienced heroes always fumble when faced with a new situation. Allen did not.
Ending up with 69 villain points and 70 hero points, one point away from the maximum amount of hero points achievable, he set out a never-seen-before record. That is, if it weren't for the deductions. The exam has the firm rule that leaving the testing grounds would take away 5 points from the final result so as to not encourage participants to recklessly get themselves hurt.
Though Allen has come out with seemingly no injury, the boy has left the grounds 16 times to bring out his peers that did. Because of that, out of 137 points, his final results were only a total of 56 points. That is less than half of what he has worked for and places him as 10th for the physical exam.
Despite the protests of multiple teachers, Allen will not be granted an exception to keep the full score, so as not to set a possible precedent that participants can abuse. Not to mention that Allen did extremely well on the written portion too, placing 12th in the final rankings. With the total of his performance points, he would have easily gotten first place. It's only because the boy has easily passed the exam that Aizawa has stopped fighting for his final grade.
"A very intriguing case, wouldn't you agree?" Nezu asks from beside him.
Looking up at the principal, the teacher demands to know, "What is his past?"
Because from these results alone, it's clear that something is going on under the surface.
Sipping a cup of tea, Nezu hums. "The child of two family lines with minor speed quirks. His parents died when he was young, and he was raised by a relative until he was 13, when he was put under the guardianship of his uncle. Since then he has had constant fluctuations in his grades depending on how engaged he is with the subject, and teachers have often commented on him having a strong attention disorder that has been amplified by his quirk."
What he doesn't say is that a complicated family history could also have made the disorder worse.
"And the full extent of the quirk?" Aizawa asks because papers never tell the full story, but they can give a hint on other people's perceptions.
"It's called Speed Force," Nezu chuckles. "An interesting name, but it's derived from his parents since they have the same quirk."
Suddenly, Nezu's smile turns mischievous, and Aizawa braces himself for a headache. Gleeful, the principal reveals, "It's a mutation quirk."
Aizawa pauses in disbelief. "A mutation that makes him faster?"
It's not impossible for mutations to enable emitter-type abilities. But for a standard type body to be able to go faster without additional enhancements is extremely rare.
Nezu cackles, "Indeed, indeed, isn't that fascinating! From his heart rate to the way he breathes, his body is basically stepping him outside of our time flow, making him process and interact with the world at speeds faster than we can perceive it. His very brain is constantly working in a different time zone."
Despite the attitude, Aizawa can pick out what he doesn't state. This boy won't be stopped with his erasure because his speed is a part of his body. To teach him will be a new kind of challenge, as he will need to pay special attention to how Allen engages with both school environment and work assignments.
Aizawa sighs. "You've given me a class full of problem children this year."
Nezu cackles, "I have a wonderful teacher at my disposal; it's only right that I make use of this resource." That, and the unspoken payback for expelling last year's entire class.
With a shooing motion, the principal prompts, "Now, the first lesson will start in five minutes; you wouldn't want to be late to give your surprise tests."
Aizawa sighs. "It's always good to teach them early." And it gives him good sense on who to sort out from the beginning. Not to mention getting a feeling on how to go about teaching the remaining ones.
*****
As expected, even as he lies in a bright yellow sleeping bag, none of the students even notice him as he lies at the entrance. With a sigh, he announces himself by saying, "If you're here for socializing, then you're in the wrong place."
Almost all of the students startle. It's easy to see who is judging his appearance and who is simply confused. Though Todoroki looks like he had no expectations at all.
As Aizawa stands up, he notices that Allen is sprawled face-first over his desk without looking up. The question is if it's a lack of respect towards authority figures or a result of being ignored by the previous teachers dismissing him as an outlier.
The test itself goes by like the previous years. Many insecurities and overconfidence depending on how popular the student's quirk has been. Bakugou will need to be taught how to ground himself, while Midoriya... That one is a migraine and a half that he needs to keep an eye on before the boy decides that vigilantism is the only alternative to becoming a hero.
On the other hand, Allen's results have been informative in that speed and endurance are his main strengths, but anything taking over 30 seconds is likely to be given up on if he doesn't believe it necessary. Patience will be the most important thing to focus on.
The rest of the class showed enough potential that he believes they can make it if they keep at it.
During the test, multiple hints at friendships have already started. Iida, Uraraka, and Midoriya have been the ones gravitating together the strongest, with Sero, Ashido, Kaminari, and Kirishima following closely. The remaining boys are a mix of casual closeness and purposeful solitude, while girls seem to flock together. Jirou and Allen fluctuate in their attempts at socializing. Maybe it's too early to judge the landscape, but he wants to at least have an estimate on how the classroom's climate will shape itself.
At the end of the first school day, Aizawa dismisses the class but calls Allen back. "I have noticed that you've been holding back during the physical test. Is there a reason why?"
That is not to say he didn't do extremely well. Outside of the tasks asking for raw strength or climbing, he got great results and placed fourth. What does stand out is that he didn't look exhausted in the end. It could be that he just recovered very fast, but at no point did the boy get out of breath or seem to truly struggle.
Allen sways on his feet with a frown, then bluntly says, "I did my best, so I dunno what I could have done more."
Looking at the boy, Aizawa has to admit that he doesn't know him enough to judge how true that is. Maybe this is a case of preconceived expectations talking. Regardless, Aizawa nods. "Alright."
Watching the student go, he can't help but wonder what kind of year this class will bring. The door isn't even closed before it slams back open and his two noisy coworkers prance in.
"SHOUTA! HOW'S THE FIRST DAY BEEN TREATING YOU?" Hizashi asks.
His head is ringing as he answers, "I wasn't deaf yet."
Of course, Kayama just laughs over the apology and gets to the crux of it. "What kind of cuties have you gotten this year?" she croons. "I heard no-one got kicked out yet despite your complaints."
It's not surprising that they heard of this already, but it makes sense since he usually expels one or two students on the first day.
Aizawa nods in acquiescence. "While they're an undisciplined bunch, there is enough potential for them to make it."
Grinning, Hizashi cheers out, "Hell YEAH!"
Which doesn't help his growing headache in the slightest. Kayama pulls a chair closer and turns it around to sit. "Well then, who do you want us to pay special attention to?"
The two of them look at him expectantly. All of them have their own assessment about the students, but they are all in agreement to share who it is that they need to keep a lens on.
He tells them, "Bakugou, Midoriya, and Allen. Maybe Todoroki."
They nod like they expected that, though Hizashi adds, "I'll add Kaminari too. His files say that he fries his brain after giving a strong output. While it doesn't look like it's doing any lasting harm, it could still make schoolwork hard for him." On that he has to agree.
Kayama grins and throws a fist in the air. "Well then, let's raise the next round of baby heroes!"
The cheer in the room is full of positivity, but it doesn't change the promise underneath it. They will make sure to have them graduate as prepared as possible.
Notes:
- Is Bart OP? Yes. But Bart is a freaking Speedster who are so darn OP, it's a crime that DC hasn't used them as such! The only reason Reverse Flash hasn't killed the entire Justice League thrice over, is because he's obsessed with the Flash and plot armor. Same when Barry falls to the dark side. You want to tell me a man that moves too fast for Superman would lose to anyone? Heck no. And since the internet won't tell me since when Bart was able to run at the speed of light, I'm applying it here. Am I arguing with air? Maybe! But no-one can tell me Bart wouldn't crush everyone in MHA.
- I'll confess, I'm not completely happy with how this turned out since I'm not sure how to explore Aizawa's perspective. Idk, you tell me if and what bugs you about his narrative because he'll show up again. Also, do you prefer I call him Shouta or Aizawa? Like, I'd assume he thinks of himself as his first name, but everyone thinks of him by his surname.
English is not my first language, so if I made spelling mistakes or wrote strange sentences, please tell me!
Constructive criticism is always welcome, on the writing, on the story, or even just your opinion as a whole.
Thank you so much for reading, don't forget to drink water and have a great day! ⛲😊
Warning: this is on hiatus right now because I've started too many series at once. I'm going back on schedule as soon as I've cleared that away!
