Dear Sunflower

Summary:

Sun didn't know how this happened, he didn't 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 to know, but he knew one thing:
If he saw any animatronic looking at him with pastel yellow optics, he needed to run.

OR

'Lovesick Virus' but with Sun as the main character this time. Yippee!

Notes:

That's right people, I'm doing another one of these. Strap in folks, this is going to be 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦.

Chapter 1: The Beginning

Summary:

Just a regular day in the Daycare, nothing to see here.

Chapter Text

It's a regular day in the Daycare. Sun's cleaning the barrels while Lunar and Moon had gone off to do...something. He doesn't know what but they had insisted it was important.

So that leaves Sun...all alone.

Don't get him wrong, he doesn't mind being left alone, he just can't but feel...that someone is...watching him.

He brushes it off, he's just being paranoid as usual, nothing's wrong!

Oh, how naive he is.

Sun is far, far, from being alone. He just forgot to look up, I suppose, because pastel yellow optics watches him from above.

{---}

Sun had decided to stay in his room. He just didn't feel safe in his room. Especially seeing a little shadow run past him. He had locked all doors to his room and is now frantically trying to shoot Lunar and Moon a text message.

"Come on come on...pick up..." Sun bites his lower lip. Fiddling with his fingers, he glances at the small blue bed Lunar had insisted on getting a few months back but- come to think of it- Lunar hadn't really slept anywhere except close to Sun. Same with Moon. It was a bit off-putting...but Sun was honestly glad he's been having close contact with his brothers after so long.

A loud bang cuts off his musing and he nearly jumps out of his plating. What the?... The uncomfortable feeling of being watched returns, this time more prominent, and Sun is panicking in his head.

"How?! I barely have any windows- or air vents- or- nothing! Oh god, what if it's Eclipse or BloodMoon or Kill Code? What if Moon and Lunar have been kidnapped? What if-?"

A beep snaps him out of his thoughts.

Moon

Sun, is everything okay?

Sun could've breathed a sigh of relief. His brother was here. He texts back:

Sun

No, everything is not fine! I feel like someone's watching me and what if it's BloodMoon or Eclipse or- I don't know!

Sun's hands are shaking from terror but Moon asks him what's wrong and he explains.

Moon

It's all gonna be okay Sun. We'll come back as soon as possible. For now, don't open your door till we text you, alright?

Sun

Okay...

The conversation ends and Sun slumps against his door in relief.

{---}

Moon waits to see if Sun will send any more text messages but he doesn't....so he turns to Lunar. A look of anger on his face.

"Idiot!", he hisses, "You nearly got us caught!"

Lunar scoffs, "Hey! It's not my fault if this place is so fucking dark in here-!"

"Language."

"And it smells like sh- garbage!"

Moon sighs and whispers, "Look I know. It's not the most...ideal way to sneak around the Pizzaplex but it's all we got alright?"

Lunar's shoulders slump and he murmurs, "Okay..."

"Good. Remember: we're doing all of this for Sun."

Lunar nods, an unfamiliar glint in his optics. "Only for Sun."

Chapter 2: Is this a fever dream?

Summary:

Sun encounters stranger and stranger things the longer he awaits for Moon and Lunar's return.

Notes:

WARNING: NON-CON IN THIS CHAPTER. (Just kissing but still.)
Flesh- the more violent twin- is italics. Blood is underlined.

Chapter Text

Sun's drawing in his notebook. Drawing is a good way for him to cope and for him to let out his feelings (without getting anyone killed-). It's also a good way to pass the time, what with being cooped up in his room and all, there isn't much to do here.

Finally, after a sigh, he closes the notebook and stands up. What else could he do?... His room needs cleaning. Yeah, he'll clean. He's a master at cleaning.

{---}

Sun was rummaging through some donation boxes when he finds it. He freezes.

Why. Was. There. A. Camera in his room?

It's tiny between his fingertips and he rotates it back and forth, squinting his optics to get the finer details. This sorta looks like Moon's technology...

No, no. That couldn't be! ...Right? "I'll give this to Moon...", he mutters, "Yeah I'll show it to him..."

Someone knocks on the door.

Speak of the devil.

"Sun- Sun are you there?", Moon's voice calls. (Wait, didn't he said he was going to leave a text-?) Relief floods Sun like a tsunami. This would finally all end. He'd give Moon the camera, they'd find out about who's been stalking Sun and then everything would go back to normal.

He cautiously answers, "Yeah- I'm in here!"

"Well come on out then!", Moon encourages. Sun smiles and unlocks the door, face to face with-

Eclipse.

Terror replaces calm and Sun's first instinct is to back up but he bumps into someone.

Then arms wrap around his waist.

"H- HEY! LET GO!", he screeches. He thrashes but the person behind him has a strong grip. Their hold is tight but not tight enough to hurt. Sun can't get a proper look at their face until he's pinned down to the bed and when he sees who it is, he gasps.

"Flesh?!" It's him in the flesh but...Sun had killed them! His twin and Eclipse stand by the side, staring at Sun with an unreadable expression. It was...unnerving but Sun wouldn't it let it creep him out.

Flesh grins like the gremlin he is. "Hello Sunny boy!", he hollers.

Eclipse speaks this time, "Sun...I'm sure you're wondering what's been going on here? Correct?" A long silence passes before Sun nods.

Blood butts in, "We must warn you- Lunar and Moon are not who they say they are!

"What are you talking about? Moon and Lunar are absolutely fine.", Sun states coldly- not a fan of being held against his will thank you very much.

Flesh clears his throat. "Sun, they literally went off to dismantle Monty because they thought they were in love with you."

"Morons really- everyone can see they're in love with that Earth woman.", Eclipse scoffs.

Sun gawps. What? Moon and Lunar would never do that! He huffs, "You really expect me to believe that- MMPPH!" Sun is muffled by Flesh- still sitting on top of him- kissing him. Passionately and fiercely. He pulls away and is immediately replaced by his twin. Blood's tongue pushes inside Sun's mouth and wraps around Sun's own. Eclipse- the last one- essentially makes out with Sun but in a more sexual manner than the twins.

They stare down like hungry wolves with their toothy grins and yellow optics. Sun-

BANG!

Sun jumps at the sound. Two more bangs sound out before all falls to silence.

The three animatronics' unresponsive bodies lie in front of Sun like praying worshippers while the Creator stands in the door way. His hand- now a blaster- raised up.

"Come with me!", the Creator orders brusquely. Sun looks at him and thinks of only one thing:

"Am I having a fever dream?"

Chapter 3: How it started

Summary:

After being saved by the Creator, Sun demands answers from the little android but is he really prepared for the truth?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

"What do you mean: you don't know how to fix this?!", Sun screams at the Creator who was in the backseat of the car they were travelling in as of the moment. Some- guy with a trashcan over his face was driving the black Tesla they're in.

The Creator rubs the space between his eyes. "For the last time....I DIDN'T CAUSE THIS! At least not this time..." He mutters the last sentence under his breath but Sun isn't convinced. He squints his optics at his 'father'.

"Oh yeah? Then who is causing this oh great father of mine?"

"DON'T-", the Creator starts but decides against it. He sighs as he slumps against the black, plush seat. "I don't know honestly. I've been trying to track the source but...they seem to be experienced in hiding their signature." There's a hint of tiredness in his optics and- against his better judgement- Sun feels pity for his creator.

"How..." Sun pauses for a moment. "How did this all start?"

There's silence for a moment before the Creator speaks, "Me and my...partner here were just doing business as per usual. It looked to be just an ordinary day before the KillCode had burst into the lab."

Sun has to hold back a gasp. KillCode.

The Creator continues, "It was quite a scuffle if you asked me. Somehow he had managed to break out of his coding and was able to break free from my...firewalls. He was just about to strike me when something seemed to freeze him in place." Sun feels his core sink at his words. "He seemed...scared. As if he had finally met an entity greater than him. Perhaps he already did- perhaps...- but still it didn't change the fact that whatever that something was it had broken through my coding. Made my own creation turn against me. It was pure luck that he ran off before he could cause any more damage."

Sun processes the whole story for a few moments before he straightens up. "Wait...KillCode is infected too?!"

The Creator huffs, "Seems you're smarter than I thought. That's good- yes KillCode is infected as well though I had expected you to expect this since your 'brother' is infected too."

Sun's mouth gapes open. "How did you-?"

The Creator shrugs. "A bit of deduction here and there."

The trashcan man looks over his shoulder. "Sir, we're here."

They stop at a metal base of sorts, the Creator steps out and types something in. The massive aluminium doors open up. Sun's optics widen as familiar faces appear in front of him.

"Sun, welcome to the Survivors' Gang."

Notes:

Who do you think should be infected? Who do you think should be a survivor? Comment down below! (Note: Infected are Moon, Lunar, Eclipse, KillCode and the BloodMoons thus far. Don't be shy wanting some people to survive the infection!)

Chapter 4: The Gang

Summary:

Time to introduce the survivors. 😏

Chapter Text

Sun looks at the survivors one by one: Solar, a female animatronic (Earth perhaps?) and some...guy who looks like a combination of him and Moon. It's...not very big but he is glad to see familiar company.

Solar seems to think the same. He walks over to Sun and smiles at him. "Hey...", he starts.

Sun gives just as awkward as a smile. "Hi...Solar..." He doesn't know why but he feels a...connection to Lunar's friend, as if they had met before, maybe it's because he's an Eclipse?

The female animatronic walks over to them (and oh god she's tall-) and stares him up and down. She tilts her head before asking, "Are you...Sun?"

"..Uhm...yes? Are you...Earth?" She gives a nod and Sun notes that he has a younger sister now. He uncomfortably looks over towards the pale animatronic. "Uh...who's that?" His question is directed towards the Creator as he points to the strange automation in the shadows.

The Creator waves his hand lazily. "Oh his name is Ruin. We cured him of a virus after he appeared in our dimension. He's adjusting, one could say."

"I see..."

His suspicions immediately go away when Earth steps in front of him, her tall form looming over him, but her optics are that of an excited child. "So have you ever watched Barbie movies before?!", she chirps.

Sun's mouth opens like a goldfish's before he responds with, "No...but...your hair is...very fluffy." He reaches out to stroke the cloudy-like texture and is surprised by how soft it is. Even his rays aren't that soft.

She giggles, "Why thank you! I like your rays too! Can I pet them? Please?" Her own hand reaches out and ruffles Sun's rays as she makes little 'de de de de' noises. Solar chuckles at the wholesome reaction.

Chapter 5: A date and a mission

Summary:

Earth and Monty are given a task by the Creator which may lead to them curing the virus. Meanwhile, Sun and Solar grow closer.

Chapter Text

"So..uh...what do these things do again?", Monty asks as they stared at the weird sonar thing in their claw.

The Creator sighs as if he's explained this a thousand times. "They can detect any form of magic: star power, dark star power....witherstorm energy."

Earth tilts her head. "Are you saying you think this virus was caused by magic?" Her father gives a brief nod. Monty asks him why.

"Well for one, computer viruses don't spread and- another thing- viruses don't just add coding, they mess with it." Okay, that makes sense but it doesn't make Monty's...father in law any more trustworthy. They also don't trust that Ruin guy either, something just seems...off about him. Monty's snapped out of their thoughts by the robot's voice. "Now, see if there's any magic being used out there and report back to me."

"Yes Sir!" Earth salutes appropriately.

{---}

It's been a whole good hour and Monty's feet are starting to ache. They wave the detectors here and there but no signs of magic have been found. Monty blows a stray red lock that's draped itself over its' snout, maybe the Creator's wrong. Maybe the virus isn't being caused by dark magic or whatever or maybe Montgomery's not focusing hard enough.

Because they can not stop staring at Earth.

Her white hair bobs up and down as she walks and she's nearly as tall as the trees surrounding them, she also had a happy go-lucky smile on her face and bright blue optics that seemed to shine. Monty is so immersed in their staring, they didn't notice she had stopped walking. They bump into her back with an 'oof'. Earth straightens up and looks down at Montgomery. "Oh my- I'm so sorry." The sunlight shines behind her like a holy beacon, basking her in shadow and making her look like an angel come down to earth. Monty's so stunned that they merely mumble, "It's fine...mommy."

A look of shock crosses Earth's face before it passes. Her face falls into an uncertain frown as she points in a certain direction. "I..uh..the detector's picking up some magic over there. I think we better check it out."

Monty stands up, grinning. "Lead the way."

{---}

Sun taps his foot nervously. It's a habit of his: he has to do something or else he'll feel he's useless, and if he's useless-

Solar places a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Earth and Monty will be fine Sun. They make a good power couple."

Sun can't help but smirk. "You mean will make a good power couple? That is, when they go on their first date." Solar laughs at the joke and Sun feels butterflies in his stomach. He brushes it off as nerves. Yeah! Just nerves.

Chapter 6: A scuffle

Summary:

Monty and Earth encounter two gremlins.
TW: INJURY AND VIOLENCE! Also, some possessive behaviour maybe.

Chapter Text

"Monty, Monty, I found something!" Earth gasps- optics shining as she stares at her finding. Monty comes over, staring at the item between Earth's fingers.

"...A...crystal?"

"The detector's going crazy over it! See?" True enough, the detectors are beeping loudly. "I think this is what Father's been looking for!", Earth says with a grin and Monty can't help but be happy for her.

They roll their scarlet optics. "Yeah, yeah, let's head back to your daddy, babe." They start walking back before they even realise what they've said at the end. Earth flounces behind him. Monty suddenly stops. They shield an arm protectively in front of Earth as a low growling catches their attention. They snarl back before-

SLASH!

Monty narrowly pushes them both out of the way in time to avoid a red claw! They quickly unfurl from each other and look to see who's attacked them and- oh no. Staring at them with pale yellow optics are KillCode's two sons.

The BloodMoon twins.

"WHERE IS HE?!", Flesh yells out angrily.

"Where's who?!", Monty barks back.

"SUNNY!", Blood answers for his brother, "WHERE IS SUNNY?!"

"We want him. We want our mate.", Flesh growls out 'protectively'. Monty feels sick.

"Well, too bad, you ain't getting him." They get into a fighting stance but Earth just tilts her head.

"Why do you want Sun?", she asks curiously. She only knows that they're hunting down Sun for some reason but the way she had heard them talk about him hadn't seemed...bad. Instead, it had seemed affectionate. Doting, even.

'Flesh' violently turns his head at her and snarls. "Hey-", Monty starts but not another word comes out when Flesh lunges at Earth. "NO!", Monty screams- pushing Earth out of the way and-

SLASH!

Monty hisses as they touch the scar on their snout. Flesh smiles triumphantly before he suddenly feels a pain in his abdomen. Earth looks at him with a dead, emotionless look in her optics as she rams the sword protruding from her arm into him. With more effort than he'd like to admit, Flesh pushes the tall woman off of him and falls into his brother's waiting arms. "BROTHER!", He yells worryingly before fixing the two with a deadly look. "We will return, tall lady and gator man." Then he pulls his brother into the woods. Earth shakes her head to clear the fogginess before looking down at Monty, petrified.

{---}

"Help- Please help-", Earth pleads. Carrying a passed out Monty as she enters the base.

Her father's face is mortified. "What happened-"

Earth looks down, her optics filling with tears. "Attacked.", she murmurs like a little kid, "Hurt."

The creator sucks in a breath. "Oh no."

Chapter 7: Expect the unexpected

Summary:

The real danger doesn't always hide in the shadows, sometimes it can be in plain sight.
TW: Violence and obsessive behaviour.

Chapter Text

Solar has been noticing something...weird about one of the members of the gang: Ruin.

Ruin's...introverted. He doesn't talk much, and when he does, it's as though he struggles with social cues. Now, don't get Solar wrong, he struggles with that too, but there have been...other red flags that have been in Solar's sight. Red flags that he just can't brush off. Ruin has been...watching all of them. Particularly, a yellow animatronic with rays surrounding his head like a halo. Every time Sun has his back turned or isn't fully paying attention, Ruin stares at him like a hawk: analysing every detail, watching his every move and waiting to strike on the defenceless dormouse.

It makes Solar feel disgusted and...something else. It feels like anger but isn't? Like- this anger feels right. It doesn't feel like the violent, senseless, anger his Moon used to take out on him. It feels like...a sick need for justice. Maybe that's why Solar is heading to Ruin's room now.

The door slides up to grant him access and Ruin's room is just what Solar expects it to be: messy, disorganised and looking like a bomb had trashed the place. At a table, Ruin's working on something. Tweaking and breaking. It seems he hasn't heard Solar.

"Ruin?!", Solar calls out. Ruin's head snaps up, one optic piercing through Solar.

He straightens up and turns to face Solar. "Yes?", he asks. His voice sounds rehearsed, as though Ruin has been...waiting for him.

"We need to talk.", Solar demands- crossing his arms together.

A little smile plays on Ruin's faceplate as he walks forward. "About what?"

"You know what!", Solar growls- pressing the tip of a finger against Ruin's chest plate, "You think that you can just stalk Sunny and get away with it just because you hide in the- AGH!"

...

Oi- oil is dripping down his arm.

His arm is bleeding.

What?...

Too late, Solar realises the danger he's in, he looks up in horror to see pale yellow optics cutting through him like Ruin's claws had. "Did you finally figure it out?", Ruin asks mockingly.

"Wha-", Solar heaves, "What-"

"It was so easy to pretend to be one of you guys!", Ruin gleefully exclaims, "So easy to blend in the background and not tear you all to shreds for being near my Sunny." He coos out the last two words and Solar feels that familiar anger boil inside him again.

"He is not. Yours!", Solar bites out but he hisses as his injury flares up. Yellow is invading his vision. No, no, no...

"You're right.", Ruin replies happily, "For now, but he will be mine soon and that's because you're going to be doing all of my dirty work for me!" Solar falls to the ground, systems shutting down against his will.

"Nighty night~"
