The sun was setting over the road between Ponyville and San Francisco as Twilight Sparkle sat on a hill, a book levitating before her. Beside her, Mordecai lounged back on the grass, his wings tucked in as he glanced at the sky.
“You’re always reading,” Mordecai teased, smirking. “Don’t you ever take a break?”
Twilight glanced at him, smiling. “Learning is how I relax. Besides, someone has to keep up with everything happening around here.”
Mordecai chuckled. “Yeah, but even geniuses need to chill.”
Twilight closed her book, her cheeks flushing faintly. “I guess…it’s nice having someone to relax with, after all.”
Mordecai grinned. “Always here for you, Twi.”
