    The rain showered down on him endlessly, the night sky making the surroundings dark and impenetrable. The only lights were coming from his Sheikah slate and the figure in front of him, and Link knew he had found who he had been looking. This was the man mentioned within the legend, the man who seemed to be a mask salesman that has been preserved through time.

    The masks adorning his clothes and bag rattled as if trying to escape the confines of their ties to the man. Link could feel the unease and thick air, almost as if it were palpable and restricting his breathing. He hadn’t even seen the man and he knew that this man was not what he looked to be.

    However, just as he thought to approach, the man turned around slowly to gaze upon him. His eyes were upturned, and his grin was anything but happy, looking to be more like a grim snarl. They locked eyes at once and Link could feel his skin crawl as his body instinctually started on edge, watching the mans every movement.

    “Care for a mask, young Link?”

     

    Or a story in which Link, fed up with the life he is living without his control, leaves the castle to find the joy of freedom once more.
